This place truly delivered! The Carpaccio was the star of the meal—hands down the best I’ve had. The flavors were delicate, and pairing it with their bread took it to the next level. The Pizza Diavola was fresh, with just the right amount of spice. The Boscaiola Campanelle was a highlight: rich, flavorful, and absolutely loaded with truffle. It’s a must-try for anyone who loves mushrooms. The Lingcod was cooked to perfection—tender and flaky. The corn garnish added a sweet and refreshing touch that balanced the dish beautifully.
We ordered gnocchi and prosciutto pizza. The portion was good for Italian and food was great to enjoy the natural tastes of the ingredients. I prefer fried gnocchi but I still enjoyed this style.
Visited on a weekday happy hour. Weird how we were seated right next to other parties while the restaurant was only 25% occupied. Carbonara pasta was excellent. The ragu pasta was bland. Carpaccio was ok. Overall service was meh. Only paid parking via app is available on-site.
Came here with some girlfriends for a surprise birthday and the night couldn’t have been better. The food was fantastic and the service matched. We definitely recommend the pesto gnocchi!
The rigatoni is so flavourful and a little spicy, i really loved it. recommend to share the mains family style since the portion is decent. The tiramisu is what i came for after seeing photos… and it did not disappoint! I was back a week later to eat it again. Perfect place for date or girls night.
Foods incredible! Gnocchi melted in your mouth, the rigatoni was a lot spicer than expected but still delicious. Same for the mushroom and cream pasta. Also ordered a Margherita pizza and it was great. Tasted pretty authentic. Had the Caesar salad and so original! It’s two massive pieces and they grill it on the bbq, so it’s very Smokey tasting. Loved it! Lastly, I’m not a big tiramisu fan was but this was definitely worth the calories. This spot will def be our new local fave. Would highly recommend!
First time here and it was nice to see a variety of things here at the restaurant between Pizzas, Pastas & Others. Its not a big space but a lot of groups larger than 4 come here so its pretty nice and very accommodating space wise. The food was a 8/10 or maybe Italian food may not be for me but this is one of the better Italian restaurants I’ve been to. The service (or rather just our server) was hard to ignore as either her negative aura or just her disdain to be serving our rather large group (PTY of 11) was showing. Our server was polite but her attitude made more than just 1 member of our party uncomfortable and unfortunately that attitude would be memorable . Again the service was not terrible but it goes to show how serving is a hard job. I also thank her for dealing with us. We weren’t terrible but most likely slow. Anyways most likely to come again and hopefully if i get the server again she’ll be in a better mood. I would come back for the food and atmosphere:)
My partner and I love coming to this restaurant because it is close by to where we live and come multiple times on occasion so I thought to do a group reservation for my birthday recently (June 28). I was left disappointed. Pros: - the restaurant was able to accommodate for 14 when I first requested for 12. Ended up with 12 guests and a table was removed which worked out for the dinner. - Cocktails and food were the highlights and the overall ambiance was good. - tiramisu was delicious Cons: - had completed the initial form for a group reservation on their website and after 1 email asking me what time was best and I had replied, there was no answer for 3 days. Had to send a follow up email which then the reservation was made. - When I had arrived with my group, the server was not aware of the occasion (birthday) and took a long time to take drink orders, meal orders, etc. As the host, my guests had noticed the server had given snarky looks (passive aggressiveness) to them as they were asking for simple items such as chili flakes. Though not mandatory, the dessert for my birthday was not complimentary. Overall, I would go back but not as frequent as I would before and would avoid doing a group booking due to response rate and how my group was treated.
Let s start by saying, We have been here a handful of times before and it has always been a great place. Went for lunch today and was quite disappointed with both the service and the food. It was a busy lunch service and there were only two servers, which meant they weren t as attentive as they could be and took a long time just to get an order in. It being so busy also took a big toll on the food quality. The pizzas were burnt, the calamari was way overcooked/over fried, where we could not even chew threw the calamari, the ravioli was completely dry from sitting out a long period of time before it got served to us, with the sauce being chalky. Losing out on quality because they are busy is really not a good excuse since we are paying the same amount of money.
We recently hosted our annual corporate Christmas Party at Claudios and cant say enough great things about the experience. We have hosted these annual events for over two decades and can easily say that this was one of our favourite events to date. The whole team at Claudios was incredible to work with. They went above and beyond to ensure every guest had everything they needed throughout the night. The planning process was also seamless as their coordinator worked closely with our team to ensure all details were accounted for. The layout of their restaurant was perfect to host our 50 person sit down dinner while still providing enough room for guests to mingle, a photobooth and raffle station. We have dined at Claudios a few times before, so we already knew the food would be great. However, the food at this event was somehow even more mind blowing. Looking forward to working with them in the future!
A disappointing end to a lovely meal. Our group of 7 had 5pm reservations, we ordered many dishes to be shared family style and the food was delicious. We were all looking forward to dessert as we know the Tiramisu was really good. We were done eating for awhile and was waiting for our waitress to come clear our table and we can order our dessert. She eventually came by and asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, we said yes. She comes back and informs us that our dining time was up actually, there was a 2 hour dining limit and so she was unable to offer us dessert, the next reservation was at 7:15pm so she needed our table. I checked my watch and it was 7pm. We were all speechless. She told us that information would have been on the website when we made the reservation, but our group was too large to make one online so we needed to call to make it. When we called to make the reservation we were never told that we had a 2 hour time limit for dining. When we were seated, our hostess also never mentioned that time limit nor during our meal, our waitress never mentioned that we were getting close to our time limit. If they knew of the time limit, it would have been nice to come 30 mins before and ask if we wanted to order dessert because theres only 30 mins left for the time slot. It was such an abrupt ending to our lovely dinner with our friends and it left such a bad impression, it kind of cancelled out the nice dinner we just had! Afterwards when I went to their website to check on the reservation information it says Your table will be reserved for 1 hour 30 minutes for parties of up to 2; 2 hours for parties of up to 6; and 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of 7+. We were a party of 7, so in actual we had until 730pm and would have had time to have dessert. Very disappointing and not sure if we will be coming back.
Food was alright, except for the tiramisu which was great. Restaurant was bustling. A few empty tables but lots of table had big groups of people due to holiday/special event gatherings. Was dissapointed with the service. We ve only been sat down for a little over an hour, we re still eating/talking & she comes and asks can I pack up your food? . We were far from being done. When we mentioned we were still working on our food, there was constant attitude until the end. Place is alright. Though, would not recommend coming here to celebrate a special occasion.
Excellent place for Italian cuisine
We had our Christmas party at Claudio s this year. Stefano and his team were amazing! Food, drinks and atmosphere were wonderful. Will be back soon :)
Thank you for a night to remember, all the food was delicious and the drinks came out just right. I can t wait to come back for another round!
We hosted our Customer Appreciation Christmas event at Claudio s Restaurant, and it was absolutely perfect! The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The team at Claudio s went above and beyond to make the evening special for us and our guests. On behalf of GQ Flooring, we want to extend a big thank you for helping us create such a memorable event. Highly recommend Claudio s for any occasion!
Love this place and what they do! Food is great, value is amazing, service is outstanding!
Friendly service, great food. Fun family atmosphere, an amazing spot in north burnaby!,
Pasta With Claims Cooked really badly (Claims with no taste) Shrimps was good Everything else great
Amazing food, the servers were busy chatting and they kept dissapearing because there was some Instagram lady that ordered every dish to pose with them. Service was slow because of that. I will give them another chance next time me and my partner are in the area.
Rigatoni is yummy, with a kick of spice. The caesar salad was great!
Food was excellent and the service was fantastic, even on a busy night
I was disturbed to find that my claudios pizza arrived in an unsealed box, leaving it exposed to potential tampering during delivery. The thought of anyone being able to access my food is unsettling.
Great little restaurant! The staff were friendly and they have a cute little patio!
Lively yet intimate restaurant with incredible food. I ordered the steak, thought it might be a bit pricey, but it was the best steak I have had in ages - Ill be back just for that! My wife ordered the Boscaiole Campanelle and it was the best mushroom pasta dish with a light and creamy sauce that she has had! We also loved the Caesar salad and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of tastes of the lightly oiled side salad that comes with the steak.
We visited this restaurant for lunch, and unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. Despite being the only table in the restaurant at the time, we waited for 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. This level of service is unacceptable, even during non-peak hours. It made us feel ignored and unvalued as customers. I hope the restaurant improves its service quality, or it will struggle to retain customers.
Claudio s always has amazing authentic Italian pasta no matter the time of day you go. Never disappointed after eating there. Their Tiramisu is the bomb!
My husband took me to Claudio s for my birthday, but unfortunately, the service didn t meet our expectations. We ordered one appetizer, two pastas, and a pizza. While the food was delicious and the portions generous, we waited an entire hour after placing our order to receive our entrees. By the time the food arrived, we were already full from the appetizer and just wanted to head home. Our server, Justyna, was friendly, but she didn t check on our food s status until the hour mark. Once our entrees were served, we were not checked on again, and my husband had to stand up to flag someone down for the bill and takeout boxes. One other thing to mention: when booking online, we noted we were celebrating a birthday. Both the hostess and our server wished me a happy birthday, which was thoughtful. However, given the slow service, I was a bit disappointed that there was no complimentary dessert or gesture to make the evening feel special. I don t expect anything for free, but when asked multiple times what we re celebrating, it set an expectation for something small to mark the occasion. TL;DR: Claudio s has a lot of potential. The location is fantastic, the food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is great. However, the service needs improvement, especially considering the premium price point.
Food: pasta was hard to chew and felt like it was similar taste/quality to dried grocery store pasta. The sauce of my rigatoni was quite plastic-y and sour? Both my partner and i got stomach aches after dinner. Service: slow service, table beside us got our food earlier despite arriving way later; when the waitress took away our dishes she got some food on me and did not notice Atmosphere: honestly very well decorated and nice ambiance, just quite loud with music and other noises
I had the beef ravioli and it literally tasted like a bag of ravioli from the grocery store and canned sauce with some canned corn sprinkled on top. The portion size was so small. Such a disappointment for the price
We visited for a birthday celebration and were excited to try this restaurant based on positive reviews. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. Despite it not being very busy, we struggled to get our server s attention, even while seated in the middle of the dining area. When our pasta finally arrived, it was lukewarm with overly firm noodles and a greasy sauce. Overall, we were disappointed and unable to fully enjoy our dinner. Sadly, we wouldn t recommend this place.
I don t normally leave critical reviews, but the quality of ingredients and the preparation of dishes and drinks had gone down quite a bit during our recent visit compared to two years ago. Pasta was overcooked and bland (no garlic flavour at all in aglio e olio) and espresso martini was too sweet with no froth. It tasted mostly like Kahlua. Lambrusco was disappointing, more like a sparkling sweet rosé. Pros: Portions were good and service was efficient. I would try the restaurant one more time, but if the quality is still poor, we will choose a different place next time for one of our rare date nights!
My daughter picked this restaurant to celebrate her birthday. We ordered 1 appetizer, 3 pasta, and 2 pizza to share. The calamari was blend, but pasta and pizza were tasty and flavorful. We like the seafood linguine the most. There was more seafood than pasta. However, we found the pane grattato in the spaghetti aglio e oliohad smell stale, not sure why because we trusted the restaurant used this ingredient often. Overall, there was nothing spectacular about the dinner. When I made the reservation, they asked if were celebrating any occasion, but there was nothing done by the restaurant. So I thought why would you bother asking.
Great appies and cocktails vibe. We loved the carpaccio and Panzanella salad with added burrata. The Calabrese pizza was delicious. The boscailoa pasta has truffle and its a classic fave!
Update: their new menu is rly yummy, foccacia bread is fresh and substantial. Aglio and elio was fab as well. Graat late night happy hour and thank you to the management team for turning it around :) Had a very unique experience of being watered on by the server bc they used a hose at the plants behind us on the patio while we were dining. The garlic bread was very stiff. Lovely patio, really wish my experience was better.
Went to Claudios last night to celebrate my birthday with my husband. We definitely enjoyed our food, but ultimately left disappointed with the service. After we were served our food we were essentially abandoned. We would have liked to order more drinks and potentially desert but no one came back to check on us or offer refills. After about 30 minutes of waiting we had to actually stand up in order to even get our bill. I would have understood if it was very busy but we went before the dinner rush. Definitely wont be back.
Was here for a group event, and ordered the ravioli cacio pepe. I wasn t necessarily expecting the jalapeños and corn on top for a cacio pepe, but I think the dish was fine overall, though the ravioli filling was a bit dry. Price wise however, it does feel quite expensive for the quality of food put out. Overall, the restaurant was ok, but I wouldn t intentionally seek out this restaurant if one had a craving for Italian pasta.
My boyfriend I came to dinner for the first time at Claudio s last Saturday and enjoyed the food, however, coming home I threw up the food. My stomach was hurting until 2am I fell asleep. My boyfriend the next day wasn t feeling too good either. We were thinking it could ve been the charcuterie board or my pasta that we both ate. I got the rigatoni pasta with rose sauce. I m quite disappointed because I really enjoyed the food but had to throw out my leftovers as I believe it was the food that made us both feel that way. It was the only place we had gone in the past week and it happened right after we had gotten home later that night. It was also more expensive than we had thought. They don t do complimentary birthday desserts either which was surprising, as it was my boyfriends birthday.
Claudios has been a neighborhood favourite of ours since it opened, however, it seems that there have been recent changes (Unclear if its management, ownership, or staff?) that have caused some negative experiences - our last couple of visits have been subpar (expensive for what you get, portions used to be bigger and food was better quality), but we keep going back hoping it will be better. Most recently, I made a reservation for a birthday and asked if it was possible for us to bring our own cake and have it stored in the fridge. We were told yes, they can provide us with plates and cutlery, but we have to cut the cake ourselves and it will be $5 per person. This is a ridiculous policy! If they charged a flat $5 fee to store the cake in the fridge, I could understand, but charging $5 per person to essentially use their plates to eat our own cake is beyond ridiculous. Ended up cancelling our reservation, hope they take the recent reviews seriously to make positive changes.
Taste, Presentation, Lot of natural lighting, the vibe/theme/ambience of the place and very prompt and friendly Service. The Pricing is perfect considering all of the above. Will be back to taste more of theirs.
Delicious food and good service
Great Italian restaurant in Burnaby
First time visiting and I had a fantastic time. The service was fantastic and the food was on point, parking was a bit difficult but paid parking was available underground.
Loved the food here. Servers were fantastic. Great drinks. Will be back soon!
I had the best experience with my girlfriend tonight! Justyna was fantastic; she was attentive and always made sure our needs were taken care of (and so did the rest of the staff). The food was amazing as always and the atmosphere was electric. 10/10 bring your wife and in-laws here if you want to impress.
Server was pretty rude.
Love coming here. Great place. Great food. Great service everytime!!
Incredible place with a good atmosphere. Excellent service from the servers and the bartender. The Espresso martini was spectacular. Food
Amazing food, the rigatoni was the best Ive had. But honesty, the bartender was out of this world... would come back for whatever Rafael is making... 5 stars
Even though we had a reservation, had to wait 10 minutes for a table that wasn t ours and were told that our table had been ready from before. The food did not come to the table at one time and had to wait for pizzas while one person already had theirs. Pizza was soggy, no taste and all ingredients kept falling off of it. Chicken parmesan had no seasoning. Very disappointed
Florentina was amazing! She was super kind and hospitable. Food was reallly good and different.
Pasta was really good!! Didnt expect the huge portion so its really worth it. The ambience of the restaurant was really cozy and perfect for a date night. Would rate it at a 5 but the focaccia was a bit on the harder side.
Great lunch and a beautiful atmosphere
Our dinner was very good came all the way from Richmond. Jenn was very attentive and a great server. Thanks Jenn when we come back hope we have you serving us ! Food
We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Claudio s Ristorante. The food was authentic and delicious, with every dish bursting with flavour. From the perfectly cooked pasta to the decadent desserts, especially Tiramisu, each bite got me straight to Italy. The atmosphere was cozy and charming, making it the perfect spot for a special night out. Little Italian corner in Solo District! The staff and management team went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable time, checking in regularly to make sure everything was perfect. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. Can t wait to come back!
Quite a nice spot in the brentwood area, came here for dinner and was not disappointed. The dinner itself was quite good and fairly priced with decent portions, but the star of the show was the tiramisu. Service was a little slow considering they weren t the busiest, however the food made up for it. Will be back!
The arancini was delicious I definitely recommend it, and the pizza was great. The night we went the arancini was a mushroom truffle with garlic aïoli. The staff were also very kind and caring. Perfect spot for a date night!
Great service. The mushroom pasta and pizza were my favourite items. Good chew to the pizza dough and the pasta cooked al dente. Will definitely be coming back.
Antipastis were good but the pastas were underwhelming. The mezzi rigatoni was too salty, the spaghetti carbonara and the boscaiola pizza were dry. The portions and the boscaiola campanella was good tho. Service was fine but had to wait 30m for the food. Prices are medium and also paid parking
The food was very good!
Great entrées and pastas!
Brilliant! Superb service, good food
Such a great date night
Claudios is a great addition to the area. Food was enjoyable with my favorite with the Spaghetti Aglio E Olio being my favorite. The garlic, tomatoes and lemon zest really made the dish. We added prawns and it elevated the meal. The arugula salad was on the lighter side and needed a bit more flavor. We added the burrata just because I love burrata. The Pepperoni Piccante was a bit too much on the sweeter side with the honey. Ive had better elsewhere, but the crust and dough were fantastic. Beef carpaccio was excellent and so were the toppings. The outdoor patio with the greenery makes you feel like youre not in the middle of a parking lot. The inside dining area is just as welcoming.
Great food and atmosphere
Great food. Friendly staff
Went with our office crew for lunch and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The drinks were fabulous too. Our server, Anjali was friendly and did a great job taking care of our group.
We had a miscommunication with our server who mistakenly added two appetizers to our order while attempting to upsell something we didnt want. The food was mediocre, though the patio ambiance was pleasant. Overall, it was a one-time visit for us.
Definatley adding this to my list of Italian restaurants. The food was great we tried a wide selection of pasta and pizzas. The tiramisu was great and portion was plenty to share with my wife.
Excellent food and service.
Ridiculously small portions. $40 per person and no one from my party was remotely close to full. Pasta was undercooked and undersalted. The seafood linguine was bland and did not taste much of anything Service was equally poor. We had to flag down a waitress to take our orders after sitting around for 15 minutes This was a birthday dinner for my mother and I did not expect such a poor experience. I will not be returning
Good food, good portions, good value. One of the best Italian restaurants in the area.
Normally I don t like to leave reviews like this but I feel what happened last night should be addressed. My partner s chicken parmigiana dish did not come out and I was nearly finishing my seafood pasta as well as broccolini. After telling our waitress about it, she apologized and pointed out the person who took the order must have forgot - we thought she meant the cooking staff in the kitchen. Then when we were paying the bill, she mentioned it again, but this time it was clear that she referred to the waitress (not realizing it was herself). All we could do was laugh! The space was beautiful, the food was ok, and the service was subpar.
From an Italian girlie who lived in Italy for the first half of her life - the pizza here was amazing!!! Nice and thin, not too filling, the tomato sauce was incredible! The pizzaiolo has really good attention to detail, in terms of pizza, service and cleanliness. The waitresses took our plates away too soon and did not seem very happy to be there - in their defense it was quite late at night, so they were maybe tired. Will definitely go back!!
Best pasta ever
Stefano made our installation of artificial plants in their patio effortless and exactly to their specifications. We highly recommend visiting to enjoy their delicious food in the newly enhanced space!
My boyfriend and I were really excited to try this restaurant as it is close by and had good reviews. Overall, we were left disappointed. The food was good (the tiramisu was delicious) but our server paid no attention to our table. She never returned to ask how our food was or refill our water. We watched the other servers being friendly and attentive at tables around us, however our waitress was not. It s a shame as we most likely will not return due to the poor service.
Great food great service
Been loving this food since Pasta Amore days. Food is always on-point. Recommend seating in patio as restaurant gets hot. Food : 5/5
The food is AMAZING if uou eont come here life is incomplete!
Been here a few times and Ive loved the food everytime! Its the service that has disappointed me each time. Came once for a solo dinner and the waitress was very short, took a really long time to take my order and checked up on everyone else seated on the patio except me. Came for a birthday dinner and very similar service. Came again for dinner and the same thing, took over 20 minutes to get our order taken and really short service. No check up to see if we wanted to order anything else. I love the food here but each time that Ive come, its felt a little bit uncomfortable and not friendly with the servers.
Best seafood linguine I have ever tasted ! Good portion too! So good I am gonna come back very soon
Claudios restaurant in Brentwood, Burnaby, offers an exceptional dining experience. Their carbonara spaghetti is simply divine, with a perfect blend of flavors that left me wanting more. The warm ambiance and attentive service made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this gem for a delightful culinary treat!
Fantastic place. Great food and amazing service
Great service, great location and layout. Prices seem fair. Different take on some dishes, like the carpaccio. Pizza was good. Wine selection is ok. Seats are not very comfortable but seem to be part of the aesthetic of the place. Parking is tough but pay parking across the street.
I expect more
Great place for lunch/dinner. Today I tried the tagliatelle bolognese with focaccia bread. Husband ordered the carbonara. All delicious and definitely worth the wait. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options marked on the menu Kid-friendliness: High chairs available upon request
My husband and I wanted to take my mother-in-law out for dinner and since weve been to Claudios before and had a great experience, he thought lets take her there. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Not sure if the business attitude has changed due to it being successful now but not only did we have to wait to be seated for our reservation, but it took 5 minutes before a waitress came to our table only to serve us water without even greeting us. She just poured water and walked off. Then she came back only to take our orders. Our orders ( 2 Pizzas and a pasta dish) took a really long time to come. When it did come only the 2 pizzas came and my pasta didnt. After waiting 20 minutes for my pasta, a waitress came by and my husband inquired about the pasta, which Im sure they forgot about. She apologized and said it was coming. At this point I no longer wanted the pasta and made it clear that food should not be taking this long to come and asked her to please cancel my order. To add insult, she came back with the pasta in a to-go container and said she has removed the cost for the pasta from our bill and hopefully I can enjoy it at home. I did not take it home. I did not want charity, I wanted good service. We are paying at least $30.00 a dish/person and $15.00 for a drink, which was not even made right. It should come with a friendly and prompt service. It is very disappointing to see the entitlement in many restaurants these days and to see diners just taking it. We will not be returning to Claudios. I have a zero tolerance for bad service.
I was excited to try this restaurant, the food was great but the service was not the best. I had ordered Spaghetti with shrimp and clams, the dish was amazing. I had requested chilli flakes with my meal and the server said she would bring it out. After my meal comes the server was nowhere to be found, I asked a different server for the same thing. The second server was setting up tables and didn t bring out the chilli flakes so I proceeded to start my meal. A third server halfway through the meal asked if we needed anything, I had asked for chilli flakes again and she said no problem. I finished my meal and waited to pay and the third server came over to say she had had forgotten my request. Overall the food was great and it exceeded expectations but to ask three different servers for the same thing was a little much, even to flag down someone to request a new drink was a bit excessive, great place to eat but not the best service overall.
Great decoration Gnocchi was not salted The linguini was excellent Food : 3/5
A girlfriend and I were in the neighbourhood after a long day at work and we decided to pop in to check out the happy hour. We sat at the bar and were served by Anjali who quickly took the edge off with her fun and personable demeanour. I always love to ask for recommendations when I go somewhere new, and Anjali was super knowledgeable - the arancini which was to die for! We will definitely be back for more happy hour vibes and to check out the patio!
Rafael and the whole team at Claudio s are stellar. We will be back for sure
excellent, authentic Italian dishes. wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended! Food
We came for a birthday dinner as a family on a Wednesday evening. I am glad that we made a reservation as it was quite busy! We ordered a few pastas, soup, appetizer (calamari) and some spirit free drinks. The pastas were slightly a bit bland (we had to ask for salt and pepper), with the exception of the gnocchi pasta, but the appetizer was delicious. The drinks were also great. While the service was amazing, and our waitress was extremely kind, we found that the hostess was not extremely friendly. I am assuming that it was possibly because it was a bit busy, so it is understandable but it was a special day for my family and we felt a bit uncomfortable. Overall though, for the price, I would still recommend Claudio s.
Had a double birthday event with friends here. Had a great time and the food was wonderful!
Very tasty food with lots of flavour. Friendly service in a casual environment.
I highly recommend Claudio s to everyone! Amazing service, food and atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and have the Affogato for dessert heaven Food
Restaurant looked clean and had a nice atmosphere with patio seating. Service was pretty decent, only wished food was able to match. Rigatoni was alright, it had a pretty nice flavour and some heat to it. The cotto e funghi pizza was very wet due to excess tomato sauce, so much so that my toppings were sliding right off. There was paid parking for $3.50 per hour (before tax) outside of the restaurant.
Delicious food and great spot!
We ordered the arancini, the chicken parmagiana, and the affogato, and all three were very good. The arancini and affogato came promptly; however the chicken parm did not. We sat down at 7:30, ordered at around 7:45, but did not get our entrees until around 8:35. The wait staff were very helpful and responded well to my questions about the food. The atmosphere was also lovely, especially as the sun went down and the air became cooler. We will likely go back, but probably not order the chicken parm again. Dietary restrictions: The arancini contains veal, although from the wait staffs answer it seems that the recipe changes on occasion and could possibly contain pork in the future.
Excellent food, great service, best Italian food outside of Italy!
My wife and I popped in last minute on a Saturday. We got a table within 20 minutes. The atmosphere, with the sliding windows open was the perfect mix of sun and shade. The food and presentation was great. The young ladies that served us were far above the average service you get at chain restaurants.
Can t even begin to express how amazing this place is! We moved to the area 2 years ago and have tried almost every family run Italian place in the area! Most are good. This place is by far the BEST! The best pasta I have eaten in North America anywhere! My husband isn t a big pasta lover and he loved the Bolognese. Top it off with amazing service, friendly and attentive! This place is clean, friendly, amazing food and pricing is so good. Cant wait to try the pizzas they looked great too. Literally the best! We WILL be back!! Dietary restrictions: So many vegataruan options
We have been regulars here but it s finally time for me to review this precious neighbourhood restaurant. I wanted to celebrate my birthday here and I have to say, the manager and his team made it most memorable. The portions, the care, bringing out the food in timely manner for 22 people is challenging to say the least. Please come out to support this restaurant that serves fresh and thoughtful dishes of good proportions for its cost. The staff is so friendly and kind, the wine selections are not numerous but thoughtfully selected even for the wine connoisseur. We will keep bringing our work meetings here and gather our friends and family. Thank you to all of you for making my celebration so memorable!
I have to admit, the food is great, but I have NEVER been told that another arriving reservation NEEDS MY TABLE???? This, after my friends and I ordered dinner entrées, drinks and even coffee and dessert afterwards!? Im 55 years old and have dined at countless restaurants both here in Canada, the US, the Netherlands and Belgium and at NONE of these establishments was I ever told I must vacate my table to accommodate another reservation! I wasnt ready to leave yet and I dont see this friend very often. So unexpectedly being told we needed to leave was very cruel. I want other potential diners to know of this practice there. It also explains why my server never asked if I wanted another drink! They were already working on getting RID of us! Theyre not the only Italian restaurant here in the Lower Mainland and really need an ego adjustment and reminder of who pays their salaries! I wont be back. So the owner finally replied to this ONE MONTH later???? Does that sound like an owner who cares?? For the record: Ive resided in the Lower Mainland for nearly 30 years and have NEVER encountered this practice before ANYWHERE at ANY kind of business, be it retail, bar, restaurant, bowling alley, movie theatre, etc. etc. etc. Just dont patronize these guys.
A nice Italian restaurant in the solo district. The pizza and pasta here are all quite yummy and worth trying. The environment is open and the staff are super friendly. Having a meal at the bar generally ends up being treated like family. Love the Italian culture
I love vongole, so I ordered linguine vongole, but I bit into pieces of stone from several clams. Therefore, I couldnt finish my meal. I didnt mention this to the server. However, the server was kind and the atmosphere was good.
AMAZING! The service was amazing and our bartender and waiter were constantly checking in on us. Let me tell you that this place has the best margarita pizza I ve had, and I normally don t enjoy margarita pizza. However I believe the highlight of the meal was the mezzi rigatoni nduja pasta which was incredible. You will need a pretty high spice tolerance, but if you have that is is amazing . The pasta was cooked perfectly and the flavours were so wonderful.
Big shoutout to Claudio s for hooking up East Van Run Crew with some surprise post-run za this week! The pizzas were absolutely delicious, and we really appreciate the generous support for our community. Huge thanks to the owners and staff who made sure we were well taken care of (including great options for our veggie and vegan members ). Thanks for making our day, Claudio s- we can t wait to swing by again soon for more pizza goodness!
My fiancé and I wanted to come here due to a great experience before. We made our reservation online and specifically picked it was our anniversary. When we came in, we were seated by our waitress herself but she placed us in between 2 larger parties. This immediately put us in a bad spot to have an intimate dinner for our anniversary, as we were VERY uncomfortable. We couldn t even hear each other when we TRIED to talk to each other. Our waitress asked what we were celebrating and we told her it was our anniversary, she acknowledged it but didn t read the situation very well. We received our food which was delicious but one plate took quite some time after the first dish came out. Our waitress never came to check up on us, we had someone else clear our food, but she went to attend to her larger parties when we were clearly finished and just sitting there. We weren t hard to miss, as the tables were all super close together. She then offered one of her larger parties table free dessert on her. When she came to us, she never offered or asked. As my fiancé and I aren t expecting anything crazy but we were really hoping for a romantic dinner and that whole experience was taken away from us. We ve both never had an experience like this ever. We hope others can learn and be mindful of their surroundings.
Ive never been so satisfied with a restaurant here in Vancouver. We found this out from a Tiktok. But I wasnt expecting the food to be this good. I had the creamiest pasta (boscaioli) which I rate 5/5, they did a really good job. And the pizza was so good too. Another thing is, the tiramisu was only for $12 but for a size of 3-4 ppl! I would definitely go back and bring other ppl to enjoy this experience.
Might be a bit too loud because of the music and guests who are seated pretty close table to table and happy crowd (and this place is busy and even packed on a Wednesday night) is loud. Def try their pizzas ( especially Capricciosa), cozze (mussels) calamari fritti, arancini and drink either Aperol Spritz or one of their signature cocktails. Very authentic food!
I would give 5 stars if the music wasnt so loud. Our party of 3 couldnt hear each other speak. The waist staff had to shout to be heard and we had to shout back to order. When we asked if the music could be turned down, we were told that they had a guest DJ so couldnt do much about it. If we wanted to hear club music we would have gone to a club, not out to dinner at 8pm. What really sucks is that the music probably wouldve been something I praised in this review, as it was really good. But come on. Why does it NEED to be that loud. Other than that the food was excellent! had the calamari, bolonaise, carbonara, mezzi rigatoni, and tiramisu. I dont usually like tiramisu, but it was one of the best Ive had. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was cozy and modern - the tall windows are very cool.
Great food, friendly staff. The Nduja sausage with the muscles were to die for, a must try! Thank you for having us!
Recommend this restaurant! We sat at the bar bc it was so busy and received amazing service! The bartender was super friendly and always checked in on us. We shared calamari as an appy. I would highly recommend the boscaiola bucatini - bursting with flavour and a round pasta. We also got the tagliatelle which was done well. Nice modern interior.
We made a reservation for a table for 6 for Saturday evening at 8. We arrived around 7:45 and were promptly seated. Our server was very friendly and had great suggestions for us. We ordered 1 order of the Arancini (deep fried rice balls) for us all to split for a starter as the server told us the serving sizes for the pastas and pizzas were family sized. They were delicious! And large enough that we all got a good little serving. Then we ordered: LINGUINE AI FRUITTI DI MARE, GNOCCHI ROSÉ, BOSCAIOLA BUCATINI, CALABRESE Pizza and PEPPERONI PICCANTE pizza for the table to share. The servings for the pasta werent as big as we had thought based on what the server described FYI. I would describe them as usual individual sizes. We also ordered 2 orders of the tiramisu to share for the 5 of us that wanted desert. The Gnocchi was the favourite overall for the pasta. We didnt find the boscaiola bucatini to be as flavourful as described here in reviews. Plus its so thick that its very hard to twist onto your fork for eating. The pizzas were quite good! But do go soggy quickly from being so thin crust. The desert is large and was plentiful for us to share. Our biggest complaint was the music. We did read reviews prior to going, as mentioned above. And did see this complaint made repeatedly. So knew that this could be an issue. But wow. So loud. So unfortunate that management continues to ignore this complaint.
My experience was nothing short of a disaster. I had high hopes for a taste of authentic Italian cuisine, but what I got was a parade of culinary horrors. The carbonara, a dish I usually savor, was an abomination. The pasta was so overcooked it could have been mistaken for baby food, and the sauce was a flavorless sludge that left me wondering if they forgot to add any seasoning at all. As for the calamari, I wouldnt feed it to my worst enemy. Tough, chewy, and utterly devoid of flavor, each bite felt like a punishment rather than a pleasure. The arancini were a sad excuse for the beloved Italian classic. Soggy and bland, they resembled nothing more than lumps of rice drowning in a sea of disappointment. Even the Caesar salad, a dish known for its simplicity, managed to disappoint. The lettuce was wilted, the dressing was watery, and the whole thing tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. In short, my visit to Claudios Ristorante was a culinary nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear unless you have a masochistic desire to subject yourself to subpar Italian fare.
It was first time to visit here. Spaghetti here is.. really amazing. I really enjoyed here. Definitely will visit again here.
Probably the best pasta ive had in my life
Delicious food and great service!
Exquisite vibrations. Amazing food. Go Ferrari
First, the taste of salad was very impressive. It was the most tasty salad in Italian restaurant in Vancouver. We ordered 2 pastas and 1 pizza. those were also very tasty. Personally, tomato based pasta was much better than vongole pasta. One thing I was not satisfied was the service. I felt servers were not so friendly. Overall, I enjoyed a lot.
Great food and service, reasonable prices and good portion of food. The mussels with Italian spices and sauce was great
You deserve 10/10! Amazing food, I had the carpaccio, the rigatoni was so flavourful, the Cesar salad was a nice take, and the negroni!
Updated - Owner reached out within 24 hours of the review and rectified issue. Even though a mistake was made, really appreciate the immediate action and accountability. Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends & family. While food is pretty good, service is terrible. Not mentioning went during Happy Hour and was charged regular price for food off the Happy Hour menu. Seriously?!
Claudio s is a great local find. The food is outstanding. Best Caesar salad ever!!! We keep coming back for it. Staff very attentive, great service and HUGE portions. You can order a salad each and a main to share. But we always have desert !! Servers, chefs & Bartender anre exceptional, as well! So welcoming and good at what they do!
Came here for the first time for Bites of Burnaby and I was really surprised by the portion sizes! I was so full, and the dessert was HUGE! Nice ambience inside too, perfect for date night or girls night :)
The atmosphere here is cozy and nice but the food was just okay. Their take on the espresso martini was a little too sweet for my liking.
Ordered, Boscaiola Bucatini Pasta, Arancini, and the chopped salad, atmosphere, service, and food was excellent, definitely will be back!
Savoring perfection: A delightful feast of carbonara, margherita pizza, and tiramisu in a cozy, modern ambience. Excellent service, generous portions a culinary experience worth revisiting. Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian options available Parking: It was first half an hour free parking and only $1 for each hour so pretty affordable parking fees. Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly. There was another table with kid who was on a high chair and was celebrating his birthday. I brought my baby too and was offered a high chair as well.
Claudios is an amazing little gem of a restaurant. Been here twice now -- most recently for my birthday. The food is fantastic and the service is always top notch and friendly. Their focaccia bread is awesome and I highly recommend you save room for the Tiramisu.
We live on the same block and received a flyer in the mail to check this place out. We are SO glad we did and loved the chacuterie board (it was well worth the price for the amount of amazing things on it) and the pizzas were amazing. The bartender made us fantastic mocktails to top it all off and we loved the atmosphere and attention to detail the staff held in the room. We will be back!
Great service..pasta was overcooked, sauce was bland, salad was soggy. Pizza was good.
Finally got a chance to eat at Claudios, we went for happy hours. Friends and I shared pasta (bucatini-delicous)) ,chicken parmigiana (good) pizza(pepperoni- slightly spicy) and appetizer( calamari). All were really good. Our server was attentive and cheerful. We would go back again. Drinks were decent.
Food was delicious but the service was slow and not very attentive. I had to ask to order wine after sitting down and waiting 15 minutes. Later, I had to ask to order appetizers. We were there to celebrate a family birthday so it was disappointing.
Had dinner last night and our server Kenneth is the kindest and most wholesome server I know! (and the pasta and tiramisu were great too). Thanks Kenneth
Nice warm atmosphere. We had arancini, rigatoni, prosciutto arugula pizza. Maybe Ive become a bit stricter about Italian food since I recently went to Italy, but to be honest, the food was average overall. Still, I like their casual dining atmosphere and the servers were friendly, so I might want to try a different type of cuisine someday.
Great family and restaurant
Love the atmosphere and all the food we ordered are incredible especially the charcuterie
I had the bolognese pasta. Oh my omg, it was so delicious Definitely want to make a reservation. We have tried to walk in a few times, and it was full.
BEST RESTAURANT IN BURNABY, HANDS DOWN! Service is phenomenal, cocktails are amazing (Keith is a booze magician), and the food Isaac makes one hell of a pizza. It s freaking delicious and they treat you like family. Alina, Maria, Kevin, Kenneth, everybody probably spelling names wrong, but they all deserve a shout for being awesome.
Incredible food. Amazing atmosphere. Fantastic service. Definitely coming back. Food
Dropped by with a friend, and me knowing it was Pasta Amore, which Ive been a fan of since I was born and raised in the area, this was just ok for me. One thing I would say is that the restaurant is a huge vibe. I love the new building, and the new layout of the restaurant, but it surely is missing the old taste and flavour of Pasta Amore. I love seeing a HUGE pizza oven, and it round and big, but it just doesnt have that homey feel of Pasta Amore, it feels so bland. I do miss that vibe a lot though. The service seems a little sub par, but it is Pasta Amore, I am not surprised. But I was hoping something would have changed. At least I did a reservation, if not they might have forced us to wait for a while. So yay for me being proactive, and on top of that it seems they would totally reject us to seat us at the proper table until I said I wanted to be seated closer inside. No I did not reserve for a bar seating, and it was a Tuesday night. Anyways, onto the food. Me and my friend had to order their pasta and the pizza because I know it is Pasta Amore. We ordered the Linguine Vongole and a Calabrese. The Linguine was delicious, omg the clams were cooked perfectly. The smell of the lunguine can be smelled across the table easily, and the first bites were perfectly cooked aldente. The Pizza came out steamy hot. The Pizza has a typical thin crust, and beautifully simple char on the crust. The calabrese was cooked perfectly. And you can really taste the sweetness of the onions. YUMMY!! For sure, I would order my take out from here instead of sitting down here to eat. But at the same time, it is Pasta Amore, just order out, MIGHT AS WELL.
The service and food were amazing! There is a 2-hour dining limit and the table we reserved had patrons from a prior slot that exceeded their time, but the staff at Claudio s were SO accommodating and took care of us despite the delay. I have to give a huge shout out to the staff for making us feel welcome and even offering us drinks while waiting. Oh, and the food was amazing
I really enjoyed all the food here. The pasta and pizza were super delicious with good flavors. The Caesar salad was the only disappointment, I highly recommend you guys change the name of this dish or make it a proper Caesar salad. It was a grilled head of lettuce with some dressing on top, I would have much rather preferred a cut up salad evenly tossed with dressing as you would when one orders a Caesar salad
Fantastic experience. Great food. Personal attentive smart service from Keith at the bar. Honestly worth the stop. Beautiful Italian food without Mambo Italiano music. The rigatoni a must!!
The place is quite cozy. We had a group of 6. The food are amazing, food can be shared with everyone. Good that they have change the dishes. The mussel dish is most delicious, however wish the food platter can have more variety of cheese in it. We were there until late night, ordered desserts and they were absolutely tasty as well.
I like the food and price is normal
Restaurant is new in area for a year now. Food is great and service was amazing. Luxurious place to spend special time with family and friends. Different varieties of Italian cuisine that all are great. Waitresses are friendly and helpful. Prices a little high but the food , service and atmosphere deserve. Parking: Paid parking available infront of the restaurant Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
Waited 30minutes even with reservation with no apology, server was ok somewhat friendly, but too her a while to take our order, when appertizer arrived, the server told us they have another party coming in at 9pm(server took our order at 745pm), felt that the whole dinner was rushed and no service provided, will not go back even I dont have to pay for my dinner.
Some of the best pasta in Burnaby. Highly recommend checking out
Marvellous!!
What started off as a bad evening ended up being rescued by Maria, a talented and thoughtful server at Claudios. We made a reservation for 2 at 5pm on a Saturday for a nice dinner before attending a hockey game. When we arrived 10 minutes early, we werent allowed in the restaurant as staff was still setting up for the night. Since the weather was not the best, we were very uncomfortable standing outside waiting to be let in. A nice touch would have been to allow us to wait inside as there was a bench at the front door just for that purpose! Once 5pm came around, they let us in. We told the server we had a reservation. Oops, no we didnt. Our reservation was for 5 pm on the day before a mistake made by staff who wrote down the wrong day after taking our phone call. Okay, mistakes can be made. The server then sits us at a table so close to the tables next to us that it would feel like having dinner with unwanted guests. So, I asked for a table at the window, noting that the restaurant was completely empty. No can do, the server says. That table was saved for people with reservations. Now I m really annoyed because I made a reservation! We reluctantly sat down but at this point, I was ready to leave and go to the restaurant across the street. Then comes Maria who sensed our frustration. She reorganized the seatings so we could have the table by the window and from that point on, the evening was wonderful. Good food and great service from Maria! She is such an asset to Claudio s!
The food was wonderfully Italian and authentic. We ordered the beet salad which was amazing. We also had pizza, Gnocchi and spicy pasta all of which were delicious!
Always amazing!!
Highly recommended pasta at this place
Was very delicious and worth the price. They didnt skimp out on the ingredients. The pasta had lots of mushroom and pancetta and cheese. And the rib eye was delicious. Perfectly medium rare from the outter edge to the inner piece near the bone.
The best
First time buying salads from here . The beetroot and panzanella salads I purchased yesterday Night were very delicious!!!!
Came to Claudios for a birthday dinner and had the pleasure of having Marias fabulous service. Maria checked up on us, cleared the tables, and was friendly. Very pleased with all the food! Had the Arancini, Mussels, and the meatballs. Main options were great! Definitely will be back, and highly recommend Food : 5/5
Amazing, friendly, nice people! The food is gooood, and the cocktails? Keith is a master mixologist; his creations are nothing short of perfection, balancing flavors skillfully for a memorable drink.
Amazing food and service here at Claudios Ristorante. Please make sure you book online a week or two in advance since its Christmas party season, and if you have a party of 7 and above, call the restaurant to get situated. We had over 6 people, and they made we were taken care of. The Insalatas are big, and 2 or 3 people can definitely share one as an appy. The beetroot salad was delicious, the beets were well seasoned, the apples were crisp, and the endives tied up the flavors together. Adding burata made it even better. The Panzenella was also great. The spaghetti carbonara was a masterpiece in its simplicity. It was saucy and they didnt cheapen out on the sauce, which I liked. For the Dolci, we shared the Tiramisu and the Torta. The Torta is by far one of the best desserts I have had all year long. It was not too sweet or overpowering. It is like having a cheesecake but better. The texture and creaminess were delightful. Total highlight of the night. The staff all around were helpful and friendly. We had such a great time. I cant wait to bring my other friends around to try this place out.
Nothing authentic Italian about this place at all. Only positives from this restaurant is the interior design and friendly waitresses. I don t recommend this place because food and drinks are not good. Also, it s $4 an hour to park in front of the restaurant. Overall, not worth the $ here. Cocktails for 9pm happy hour were $8 but they were extremely diluted and weak. Tastes like watered down juice. Coming from a person who doesn t drink alcohol much/doesn t like the taste of alcohol Food: woke up next morning food poisoning :( Spaghetti carbonara: had no flavours other than it literally tasted like heavy cream with dash of pepper. It was gross. Also was very lumpy/chunky, not a smooth sauce. Didn t look appetizing as it looked like vomit on pasta.. Aranci: fried rice ball with bits of green peas and plain ground beef inside. Tasted very bland and dry. It s served with the tiniest amount of plain marinara sauce. Pizza: cotto fungi Barely any cheese and marinara sauce which made the pizza taste very bland. Parking: $4 an hour
Amazing food , Great staff. The bar tenders make amazing cocktails and martinis. I ve been multiple times and I love this restaurant! Convenient location . I lovvve the whole experience.
Great restaurant I love the whole experience ! I love the appetizer platter and salad Yummy pasta Pizza is made right Infront of you Convenient location. Great drinks Amazing staff and service!! Highly recommend !!! Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level
Weve been twice before and both times were great! We had a party of 14 and from the get go, the staff and Stefano were ever so helpful. We did a customized set menu that had appetizer sharezies (mussels and pizza), fantastico! We had a choice of entrees (chicken parm and salmone) and both were great! Finished off with a lovely torta. Really want to thank Stefano and the staff (our servers were phenomenal) for a great evening of fun, laughter, good food and drink! Highly Recommend Claudios!
Came for a work party dinner and had a great time. I had the veal/pork Tagliatelle, which had a bit of a kick and was delicious. Ordered a Seafood Linguini to take home for my wife who absolutely loved it. Not many places offer a seafood Linguini in a red sauce, which is her favourite, so its unfortunate we were told the menu is about to change. For her sake, I hope that one stays. Shared arancini, focaccia, antipasto, and tiramisu with others, all of which were quite good. No complaints about food - did have one Old Fashioned, which came only with bourbon and ice with an orange scent (no orange peel or cherry), that could have been better, but it didnt sour the experience, just changed to my go to rye and ginger and enjoyed the night. Will come back with my wife, very interested in trying a pizza.
Excellent Italian restaurant
Parking: Easy to walk to as we live in the area. Great option from the local chain restaurants. Recommended dishes
I came for a work luncheon. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. I had the ribye 16oz with broccolini and cold beer peroni. And a tarimasu slice definitely a 5 star food and service Food
We have just left here after having a gorgeous culinary event. Thankyou Maria for looking after us so thoughtfully. Certainly returning
Ive dined at Claudios three times now, and heres what I noticed: 1. The food is good. Everythings tasty, and there are rarely misses on the menu. Ive ordered the pasta special 2/3 times and Ive always been impressed 2. Timing needs to improve for when the food is served. For example, when I dined in for the first time, I got my pizza first and everyone got their dish fifteen minutes later. The third time I dined in, the appetizer was the last to come.
Awesome, friendly staff! Recommend: Spaghetti Carbonara Food
The aura of Claudio s is very family oriented. The decor , the food portions the lay out is amazing. The owners Stefano and Daniele make it known to get to know you and make it feel like an Italian home. The taste of food is very flavourful
I am a regular at this restaurant. I called for a take out order as per usual but wasn t seeing the pasta that I usually get from the menu. The host was rude from the get go and didn t even offer any recommendations or alternative dish as requested. Poor service and definitely ruined my appetite, you lost me as a customer.
Pleasant greeting & service in clean sunny surroundings. Ordered a cup of tea, was declined, & offered coffee instead! Plate was nicely presented, but Chicken Parma was dry. No sauce... Food : 3/5 |
The first two times Ive been to Claudios were just good. But on Wednesday my boyfriend and I went there and really love it! We sat at the bar-the bartender/server was awesome and the drinks and food we got were delicious (mojito, negroni I think, tartufo funghi pizza and the mezzi rigatoni nduja).
Hello Chef! I discovered your restaurant through a friend s recommendation it as one of the best places for pasta in the city, emphasizing its authentic Italian roots. My wife and I visited today. The restaurant wasn t very busy, and given the time, we opted for the Happy Hour menu. We started with two appetizers: Calamari and Arancini. The Calamari was tasty, served with a delightful garlic aioli and jalapeños that added an extra kick. However, it was far from crispy - in fact, somewhat limp. Our high hopes continued to the Arancini, but unfortunately, we were met with disappointment. Arancini, traditionally made with risotto - preferably leftover for better texture - was lacking in structure and overwhelmingly tasted of seafood, almost resembling a Crab Cake. The accompanying rosé sauce was bland, lacking in both flavor and seasoning. For our main courses, we had the Pasta Carbonara and Pizza Diavola. The Pizza Diavola was impressive, with a flavorful dough, perfectly spicy calabrese, and a delicious sauce. The Carbonara, however, fell short. It lacked the essential richness and was severely under-seasoned and under salt, salt, saaaaaaalt, saved only by the Guanciale, which brought a hint of almond flavor - perhaps the missing element in the Arancini. We attempted dessert, intrigued by the Torta s menu description of raspberry, almonds, Amaretto, and Mascarpone. To our dismay, what arrived was akin to a Betty Crocker cake mix with a faint lemon zest, confectioners sugar, and three raspberries for decoration. In an Italian restaurant, this was unexpected and disappointing. A note on service: Upon arrival, our waitress seemed quite confused explaining the Happy Hour menu substitutions. A simple updated printout could have easily assisted her. Also, upon leaving, after settling the bill, we departed unnoticed, in stark contrast to how you personally greeted and attended to a group of your acquaintances seated nearby. Regrettably, we won t be returning.
Very disappointing experience here. My friend made a reservation so we went for dinner to celebrate our birthday month together. we got a small table so we asked for somewhere little bigger if possible so that we could put our stuff beside not carrying them on our knee while dining. Our server said there are many reservations so they can t change the seats. Understandable but other seating options were opened until we leave the restaurant. We ordered a couple of appetizers, spaghetti carbonara and one of their pizza. We weren t sure which pizza should we try so I showed one of the photo from the other people s Google review to our server and asked to order for us. A different pizza served it to us so I asked our server that if is the same pizza I showed earlier. she told me that is the pizza I showed to her. It looked completely different to me with the colours or lay outs stuff like that so I questioned why then the toppings looks different She now then said will go check and came back saying there were no ingredients so they made differently but if you guys want that pizza in that photo, we can make it similar for you. And was asked if we still want to eat that pizza. We were getting full by finishing spaghetti with appetizers so we said no thanks. However, She replied us We still need to check out this pizza because you guys ordered. I told our server politely that sorry we didn t order THAT pizza. She then grabbed the pizza and just walked away. No customer services or gestures were provided at all from anyone in that restaurant. She took off from the bill at the end. The excitement of trying a new restaurant near the neighbourhood became Very disappointing. I would NOT visit again.
Food and service were really great. Ive tried the really good Italian restos in Metro Vancouver and I think this is one of them. My favourite was the Mezzi Rigatoni Nduja. Servers were really nice as well but I unfortunately forgot to ask their names. Recommended!
Last night we had our work Christmas party and ordered take out. There were 16 dishes that we ordered via email but only received 15 as one of our dishes were missed on the original order. We called the restaurant right away and they corrected the mistake and even took the extra step to deliver it to us! Everyone was so happy with all their meals and even happier that no one had to go out in the pouring rain to pick up the missed order! Thank you to Claudios for taking the time to take care of us and the delicious food! We will definitely be returning customers.
What a great restaurant. They were full, so we sat at the bar. Service was fantastic and good was on point. Highly recommend
Food was really disappointing. Bolognese tasted like canned tomato paste and calamari was overly breaded. Kinda had a feeling this place was over-hyped and am sad to say I was right. Won t be returning.
Beautiful interior. I m usually not a pizza person but I loved their pizza - I prefer the tomato based over. Everything tasted great. The Beef Carpaacio is a must try!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Claudios Ristorante. The pasta was excellent, and the dessert was a delightful finish to a wonderful meal. The staff was polite and friendly, making it a memorable visit. Highly recommend!
