5601 Hastings St, Burnaby, BC V5B 1R5, Canada
Authentic Italian Cuisine specializing in fresh handmade Durum Wheat pasta.
Delicious pasta! But not sure if it’s worth the price as a vegetarian. Love to see the vegetarian option tho! I went for lunch and I think it’s better suited as a nice dinner spot. Nice service and overall good food. Free parking around back.
La Forchetta is the real deal, and it’s nestled in an area with a rich Italian heritage history of North Burnaby. I went for the Spaghetti Vongole with fresh Manila clams, white wine, and olive oil that’s, apparently, as extra virgin as it gets. And then came the Scaloppina Chicken—sautéed in lemon or Marsala sauce with Brussels sprouts, which I happily subbed out for extra veggies. Delicious? Absolutely. La Forchetta’s got a good thing going here, with each bite somehow feeling like a shout-out to Nonna’s kitchen. If you’re in North Burnaby and craving a taste of Italy, this place might just become your new ‘old faithful.'
I brought my friend here for a birthday lunch quite early on a weekday (12:30) so we practically had the place to ourselves! We all decided to have to crab linguine and WOW! That flavourful sauce loaded with crab on the beautiful fresh pasta was delizioso!! In fact, it was so good I almost forgot to take my photo so please excuse the few bites that are missing! 😋😁. Will definitely be dining here on the regular.
What a great, unassuming restaurant in North Burnaby! I'm so glad this place exists. Everything was seasoned beautifully and the ingredients tasted really fresh. To start, we had a caprese salad. Fresh juicy tomatoes and nice tender mozzarella. We had the crab linguine and the pizza with arugula and prosciutto. Both entrees were seasoned super well. Generous amounts of crab in the pasta and the sauce was so so yummy. Pizza was good, the crust was a touch dry for my liking but the toppings were delicious. The pizza was heavily topped, we had to mop up the leftover arugula. It was so good. Not pictured is the tiramisu, which was super light yet strongly coffee flavored. Very well balanced. The restaurant has great ambiance, lots of natural lighting, and comfortable seating. We had a server who was prompt and to the point which we appreciated. I can't wait to be back.
I love this restaurant. It is on my to go list whenever I'm in Vancouver. Everything is good, you can really taste the fresh pasta. The pasta combinations are divine. Nothing beats the dessert tiramisu. The service is also top notch, we were each given a shot of lemoncello after we told the waitress we're celebrating for our friend's upcoming wedding ❤️one of the few restaurants that I am happily paying a 18% tip.
Parking lot at the back! Great space for large groups and 100% I’ll be back. Great service, great food! They have a patio but not currently open yet! Deal for AAA ribeye until July 30,2024 $38!! For 14 oz. The texture of the pasta is just magnificent. It was our first time and Eva was our server- she was amazing in making our experience comfortable and suggested great dishes and always ready to refill our glasses right on time! HIGHLY recommend the Maltagliati La Forchetta (I know it says pistachio and many people may not be used to that) but it is so good. Pappardelle is good too, wish just bit more sausage that’s just personal preference. The ribeye was dripping with its juices, each piece was even cut for us already in good bite sized pieces. Nice sear on the outside. Great deal! Wish we had more room for dessert! Will have to try another time. A gem to find in Burnaby!
Wonderful evening, delicious food, can't ask for more. Two of us shared Meatballs appetizer and Pappardelle in spicy Sausage, mushrooms and Rose sauce. Then we had as Secondi: Salsiccia Alla Griglia (Grilled Italian sausages) Scallopin (Chicken sautéed in lemon) We liked that there was a good portion of vegetables served. For dessert, we had to try Tiramisu. We really enjoyed it. The truth, would have loved a tiny more liquor in it. Happy to say we both enjoyed every dish. And will return for sure. Great service. Plates and utensils were changed for the next dish we shared. The monitor at the back showed a video, some pretty scenes of Venice, which is lovely to catch if you haven't been there, or great to remind you of good times if you have visited before. Thank you La Forchetta!!
We came across this lovely Italian restaurant after trekking at Burnaby Mountain. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, providing us a relax atmosphere to chat and rest. Love the Peach Sangria recommended by the server, the taste was mild and refreshing but not sour. I like my Spaghetti Vongole, the clams were fresh and the spaghetti was tender and chewy, which is the texture I like. Andy friends all love their food, just want to thanks the chef and staffs over there, good job guys.
Family run restaurant serving authentic Italian cuisine from the Abruzzo region. Handmade pastas, gluten free. Fresh and delicious. Parking: Small lot at back and restaurant, and street parking. Bus stop is close by if you re taking transit. Wheelchair accessibility: Level entry, tables at the front.
A tranquil atmosphere on a Friday afternoon, a wonderful server, and incredible food.
Classy
Another incredible Italian meal. La Forchetta never disappoints! One of the tastiest restaurants in Burnaby with authentic Italian food served well.
The experience was great and the food quite authentic. The Tiramisu definitely the best I had in a long time The server was absolutely fantastic and the chef was lovely. Food
Amazing food, amazing service, highly recommend this Gem.
Great authentic Italian restaurant. Everything was delicious.
Awesome food!! Amazing service!!
Service was surly at best. Food was ok but nothing special for those prices and pasta was over cooked. Also didn t appreciate being pushed out of the restaurant by the lights being turned up to extra bright! As a group we spent about $500 for this experience!
Great food
Pasta was delicious. LOVED the Empress Lychee cocktail. Ferraro Roche gelato was the best! Vittorio was a friendly and charming server. Definitely would recommend! Parking: Parking lot beside restaurant.
Great food and service
Pasta was cooked perfectly. Flavor was even throughout. Friendly staff.
Enjoyed my 1st visit to this restaurant last week with a couple of work colleagues, and one of which recommended this place. We started off with calamari carpaccio and it was RIDICULOUSLY good. I couldve eaten a couple of orders by myself. Had the crab linguini, very delicious (could use some bigger chunks of crab?) but the flavour was great, and all of the food overall was really good, down to the olive oil and balsamic for the bread (we ate two orders). Staff were very friendly, accommodated us very well. Overall a fantastic experience, the price point was excellent for the quality of food, and I definitely plan on coming back. Parking: Parking is in the back of the building!
We had the fried calamari; tagliatelle with sausage, mushrooms, and cream; and the pizza dough strips. Everything was freshly made and tasted amazing. The only drawback is the small staff as it makes service fairly languid. A small thing, really, but maybe dont expect to dine quickly (if you had hoped to do so). We will definitely be back for more!
Me and my girlfriend live super close to this location! It s a pricey hidden gem but a decent one! They are obviously known for their pasta but me and my girlfriend had not too much of an appetite. We got the bread which was our first dissapointment. It tasted amazing but at first they didn t bring the oil or balsamic and the bread was very tiny with 4 pieces. The beef carpaccio was absolutely delicious but same bread again and had to obviously ask for more to finish the carpaccio. The service was knowledgeable in products however we felt almost forced to keep getting more when we just wanted to relax and be able to enjoy a taste of a local restaurant in our neighbour. Wine menu is limited, overall at the end we got pursuaded and soul shared dessert perfectly which actually influenced us to stay and try their most delicious banana split which I hope never leaves the menu because me and my girlfriend said we are specifically coming back for it. It s $15 for the dessert which is a bit on the higher side but so tasty! Overall the experience was a 4/5. I work at a higher end restaurant and feel that there s always room for second chances and improvement. Don t be fooled by this review it s still a very nice hidden gem and me and my girlfriend will most certainly be back
A unique cultural experience of authentic Italian food. Service staff were very welcoming and friendly. After our meal we were able to connect and thank the chef personally. Kid-friendliness: I have two kids. The staff were very accommodating with their requests and questions.
Always a pleasure to dine at la forchetta. Great food, superior service and so much fun.
Really good pizza. We ordered the caprichosa and it was delicious!
I had driven by this restaurant a couple times before but never pulled the plug to try it. I am so thankful I finally was able to! Ananda and Spencer were absolutely phenomenal, if I could give them 6 stars for their service I absolutely would. They were so lovely and educated on every aspect of the restaurant. The food was delicious and the restaurant was pretty quiet which was really nice, really felt like we had the place to ourselves! Will absolutely be coming again!
Great food and amazing service
incredible customer service, wonderful food, unbeatable atmosphere. Little taste of Italy in your backyard. Must try restaurant in Vancouver, and Burnaby.
Excellent food. One of the best pastas I ve ever had. Very child friendly.
The food was amazing! There were 7 of us and we all loved our mains. The salad was very large, very fresh and enough for 2 or more. Three of us are gluten free and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was the best I have ever had at any restaurant. She was very laid back and made us feel comfortable right away. I will definitely go back!
Food and service always so good! I drive out from Langley just for their paccheri al pistachio and tiramisu. Very cute place for date night!!
I had my graduation party here, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely amazing and truly authentic. Not only was it delicious, but the service was also excellent extremely kind, welcoming, attentive, and quick. I couldnt have asked for a better way to celebrate such a special occasion. Spectacular food, a true taste of Italy. Highly recommended!
Quality ingredients, great food, superb taste. Everything is top notch! Service is great too!!! Vegetarian options: Available Parking: Private parking is available
Waitress gave us fantastic service, but the vegetarian ravioli was small enough that I left quite hungry. It seems to be a common complaint in other reviews, and for nearly $30 you d hope to at least be satiated Looking around, other dishes looked quite a bit bigger
Great service, its a family owned restaurant so they really care. The food was very good, portions could have been a little bigger, but I certainly didnt leave hungry. Would eat here again. Came on my own while on a business trip but would come for a date or family dinner.
There were eight of us. We had a reservation. We were celebrating my 67th birthday and retirement. This was the perfect place. Was our first time and no regrets. The portions were enough. The service was wow..E and C gave us such great service. The wine was perfect both red and white. The Calamari was the best ive ever had and im a lover of calamari. There being eight of us we tried different dishes on the menu and everyone enjoyed their choice. Was the perfect place to be. Food,Service,Atmosphere. Wonderful experience. The Chef came out and we all thanked him. Yes we will be back. Thank You.
The food was lovely but one of our party of six didnt get their meal with the rest of the table. It was only after we all had finished eating that the last meal was served. It was very uncomfortable for everyone and the offer for a few pieces of bread for that person did little to make up for sitting there the entire time without their food.
Attentive staff but we left hungry. Vegetarian ravioli with only 6 for almost 30$ is way way too much. We had salad and wine too. Dietary restrictions: No none dairy desserts.
Love the authenticity and warmth of this restaurant. Delicious food.
A lovely Italian restaurant in North Burnaby with a delicious selection of house made pasta dishes, pizza and desserts. Their cocktail menu was good too and fair priced.
Amazing food, service and atmosphere! We had a party of 12 and everything was flawless and the food was exquisite. The restaurant was very busy (all tables full) but still quiet enough where we could all have a conversation without yelling across the table. Not noisy at all. Will be back - cozy, great food, great prices and staff was lovely. A must try!
Amazing restaurant to come and enjoy a night out with incredible homemade pasta with simple fresh ingredients. Be sure to always save room for tiramisu, it is truly to die for !! Edit: Maltagliati is back on the menu!! My all time personal favourite!!
Great service and perfect portion size
Wonderful food and service!
Looked great, had all the right cues, but the food was poor.
What an amazing experience. Family owned, but theyve somehow elevated it!! Lovely place for a date or get together.
I ordered something out of the menu, the chef had a crab linguini as a special dish special indeed. I listened to the recommendation of not adding Parmesan cheese, indeed the light refined taste of the crab would have been overshadowed by the cheese. The Tiramisu was creamy and light, not too sweet, perfect. Awesome food, awesome chef, awesome staff. I m hungry for one more dish in La forchetta.
I was celebritating my sisters birthday at the restaurant. The workers have once again amazed me with their amazing service. I also give props to server Clayton for his amazing service and going above and beyond to make my sisters birthday a day to remember.
I went here with a friend for dinner. Our waiter was fantastic. Very attentive and helpful explaining items on the menu. My friends dish was a nice portion and very tasty. We were both a little surprised at my dish which was the vegetarian ravioli. There were only 6 ravioli and the price of my dish was only a few dollars less then his. It was very tasty but didnt feel it was worth it for the amount I got. I left hungry and grabbed a slice of pizza on the way home.
I did not appreciate getting a call from the restaurant informing me of a set menu a week before valentines because if left me no choice to cancel due to the fact that everywhere else was booked. For my first plate I ordered the crab ravioli and found it not to have any taste and for the second plate I ordered the calamari it also lacked taste and was very bland for the amount $$$ spent on the set menu felt let down and I have had better food in other Italian restaurants. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want authentic italian.
Delicious food and outstanding service. Definitely a HIDDEN GEM. The Paccheri Pistachio is a must try!
It s always an amazing experience at La Forchetta. It s a truly authentic Italian restaurant that takes pride in all of their ingredients.
Great service and awesome food! I love the decorations and the place is super welcoming I highly recommend
The food came out too late.
Service, food, and drinks were absolutely top tier. I will definitely be coming back
Amazing food and service
Eva and Trevor were awesome! The food was authentic, service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was great. Kid-friendliness: The kids had a great time too. The food was very kids friendly
Great little restaurant in the neighbourhood. We came in without a reservation and they still accommodated us even though they were busy. Good food and good service. Ill be back.
Celebrated a milestone at La Forchetta in North Burnaby, and it was exceptional. The staffs attention to detail and their genuine desire to make our celebration memorable were truly commendable. The thin, crispy pizza dough and fresh pasta were highlights. Despite a few menu items being unavailable, the overall food quality surpassed expectations. The quiet Tuesday evening enhanced the pleasant experience, with attentive and prompt service. The dessert, arriving on a plate that read Congratulations showcased a considerate touch that elevated the moment. I am genuinely grateful that I chose La Forchetta for my celebration dinner with my nana. The overall service, food, and extra special touches made it a memorable dining experience which exceeded my expectations.
I liked Cotto way better Small portions - does not taste as good as cotto, more expensive Food
Delicious! Service was good. I had booked for a large group and they were accommodating. I wanted to try everything. Parking: They have parking but for a large party, we had to hunt for street parking.
The pistachio pasta was the best! Also the tiramisu was really good. Had a great romantic dinner with good wine and food. Great service as well! Parking lot is small, but there is street parking too. Food
One of Burnabys best restaurants - delicious!!!
The service was great. Atmosphere was excellent. Great place for group or date, but probably not for food. The food was too slow. Waited an hour for a mediocre pizza and pasta? No way. If you want food, there are other better Italian places on hasting.
Pasta + risotto + appetizers were all great. It was a bit too loud, cramped space, and a bit too much like a lounge bar rather than a restaurant for our taste, but overall a decent experience. Tables around us seem to be very happy with the food as well - we were able to hear almost everything with the tables being so close to each other. Serving was very enthusiastic. Parking: two street parking spaces in front, there are plenty of street parking if you are willing to cross the road.
Fabrizio was amazing and the food was perfect. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Italian meal.
Our first time at La Forchetta was a wonderful experience. Our party of 6 had great service by Fabrizzio. The food was exceptional. I especially loved the mushroom gnocchi and the broccolini pizza. The tiramasu was delicious. I cant wait to go back.
Great place..!! Really good food if you want to try good Italian food this is the place.
Amazing Italian food
Went to this place on a whim, was fabulous ! Will definately return! Pasta was outta this world! Pizza was the perfect crispy yet chewwy crust!
Had my cousins 60th birthday yesterday at the restaurant. None of us had ever been to the restaurant but chose it by its website, menu, reviews, location and it could seat us all together . We had a great time and food was very fresh. We were a large group of 18 people with kids, teenagers and adults. We had a few people with food nut allergies and the chef was able to accommodate and was very careful with cross-contamination. Staff in the kitchen and in the dining area were very helpful in working with me before the day to make our dinner go as smoothly as possible. They gave us 2.5 hours which was perfect for us. Thank you to all the staff for helping make my cousins 60th birthday special and very memorable!
Very nice. I would give 4.5 stars, Everything is good , they have their parking area but limited parkings spots make sure you go there earlier to seek for a parking.
We went here last night for dinner and sadly, we were disappointed. The starters were tasty (calamari & meatballs). But the mains (arugula pesto pasta & fungi tomato pasta) lacked pretty much any flavour. I dont review places very often anymore, but as it was a special occasion and we were unhappy, I feel its warranted. The waiter was very nice and attentive, but that didnt make up for the mains being so bland. As there are many other good reviews, I hope this occasion was a once off. The purpose of this is for feedback to the management.
Authentic Italian flavours, tiramisu was to die for, pastas were fresh and delicious, flavours were bold but left only a subtle aftertaste (which was amazing), great service, moderately expensive but worth it. Will be back soon. Parking: 6 spots
They should mention or notify somewhere that the bread is not complimentary. Overall food was ok..2 of my friends ordered pasta and one out of 2 was good. Pizza was salty for my likings.
A cozy atmosphere, delightful service and absolutely delicious food! La Forchetta might be our new favorite date night spot
What a horrible experience! I recently moved to Burnaby, went to have a glass of wine and dinner alone. Didnt have a reservation but there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. They seated me at the table by the cold doorway, even though their was plenty of other sitting. The staff treated me like I was an inconvenience to them and had no interest in giving me a good experience. The food was bland, below average would be a generous assessment for the price point. Dont waste your money there.
The place is extremely cute inside service Was good. Our waiter, though he was new was extremely helpful and nice now the food was absolutely delicious. I had the mushroom pasta. My friend had the steak. We also had dessert. Everything was beautifully presented. The atmosphere was beautiful.
Vittorio was amazing! Great customer service ! Best server in Vancouver I ve encountered thus far. I honestly thought he was the owner! Great suggestions for food! Timing amazing guys so If you re craving good pasta come here 100/10 !
Such an awesome place!! The service was beyond great! During my dinner I mistakenly didn t read that the Paccheri Al Pistacchio contain sausage, but I still ordered them! Once I got my plate I realized that the meat is sausage, which I don t eat. When I told that to the server, Vittorio, he still said sorry even though the mistake was mine. The chef was so nice that he made a plate of ravioli immediately and brought it for me. The service provided by Vittorio was amazing, such a polite guy! The food was so good, especially the tiramisu and pasta alla puttanesca! Must visit! Bravissimi e grazie un sacco a Manrico e Vittorio!
I had dinner here with family and friends a few nights ago. We tried various dishes, and I have to tell you the food is absolutely delicious. You can tell the pasta is made from scratch, and you can for sure taste the quality ingredients. Highly recommend !! Parking: There s a parking lot directly behind the restaurant, as well as plenty of street parking in the area.
This is my favourite Italian restaurant! I love that all of the pasta is homemade every day. All the food is delicious. Great service and staff.
Had my 40th birthday dinner here with some friends. We tried quite a few different dishes and they were all very good. Will definitely be going again and recommending it to others
Personally this has been the absolute worse experience dining out in Vancouver so far. The food was gourmet sized and priced but did not taste nearly as good as it should for said price and size. In fact it didnt taste good at all, if you go here only get the pizzas. I ordered the raviolis and they had the audacity to bring out 6 individual undercooked raviolis and charge me 26$ for them. We also ordered the octopus, payed 30$ for abt one tentacle and a half on top of some avocado, it was not so incredibly tasty that it warrants a 30$ price tag for such a small portion. Overall the service was not exemplar either and I would only recommend this to my worst enemy. The one star is because the place was very nicely decorated and comfortable.
Four of us made a last minute visit late April 15 not having ever visited La Forchetta before. I can tell you all of us were extremely impressed with our experience. The moment we entered the place, it was modern, chic and welcoming. The wine list and cocktails were excellent. The pasta was so fresh and delicious, all of Manricos dishes were exquisite with very good portion sizes we were very full and happy. The most memorable part of our meal was our server, Vittorio, who was professional, engaging and entertaining. He really made us feel at home, kept us well fed and watered - we will be coming back with more of our friends and are planning our next visit. Thank you for an awesome evening!!!
Great place!
Our server Vitorio was lovely. Enjoyed his sense of humour and personality. The food was excellent, will come back next time we are in Burnaby! Ciao Dietary restrictions: One of our diners has a gluten allergy and he was well accommodated for. Parking: Free parking!!!!
The NAPKINS OMG!!! SOOOO GOOOD!!!! The food is also good. Food
Service was good but the food was little disappointing. Pasta was salty, octopus was cold and pizza was dry.
4th or 5th time. Excellent food and service.
Excellent restaurant, delicious pizza, excellent service!
There wasnt an option for 6 stars...so 5 will have to do. One of the best dinner experiences Ive ever had. Both owners came out to recommend dishes and give some of their story in the industry. Great atmosphere, incredible authentic food and just all around kind people. Will be back for sure. You wont be disappointed!
The overall atmosphere was great. The food tasted authentic. We visited on a Monday for lunch. The service was great. Our waitperson was very interactive and helpful. Would recommend this place. Its right by the R5 (to burrard) bus stop, making it convenient.
The gnocchi were in an unexpected shape and the tableside parmesan came out of an electric grinder, which gave it a bit of an Olde spaghetti factory vibes. Otherwise good
Great food, great service, and simple menu that you trust the chef. Pricy but worth it
Excellent food, they have both pizza and traditional Italian dishes and all strictly made by them: a corner of real Italian cuisine in Vancouver... finally!!!!! We felt at home!! The place is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and the owners very friendly and amiable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to eat something good in this city!
Waited 20 min to have our order taken. Ordered pizzas. Then told pizzas were not available. Waste of time.
I agree with everyone else. Food is great! Perfect portions and excellent service! Try this place out if you haven t already.
Authentic, homemade feeling, Italian cooking,we loved it!!
Place is sparkling clean. Plasta is self made and crispy. Sauce is refreshing and not heavy. Food : 5/5
Best Italian restaurant in Vancouver. Come try panzerotti and every pasta. As Italian I can say that this is real Italian cuisine Food
This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Vancouver! We loved our meal and will be going back again!
Very friendly. Very accommodating. Great atmosphere and great food!
Vittorio was our server and gave us an amazing experience. . It was my partners 66th birthday, and we couldn t have picked a better restaurant and server to enjoy my special evening. The food, the atmosphere, and especially his charming and wonderful demeanour gave us an experience to remember for a lifetime. Thanks Victory ( Vittorio ) for the great evening!
Went with a large group to try out La Forchetta. They make their own pasta. Entrees arent cheap; pastas are $25.50 to $28.00, pizzas $18.00 to 25.00. No lunch specials offered. - Bread ($4.00/basket) - theyll ask if you want bread but dont mention the price. - Calamari ($22.00) - not worth the price tag. - Bruschette miste ($15.00) - mortadella was the best piece but such a tiny portion. - 2x Pallotte cacio e uovo ($14.00) - was told the egg and cheese balls were salty. - Paccheri pistacchio ($28.00) - pasta was al dente and the sauce well balanced. Plenty of Italian sausage. - Prosciutto e rucola ($25.00) - nothing particularly memorable about their pizza. - Tiramisu ($12.00) - light and creamy. Only detected the smallest hint of marsala wine. Skip the appetizers and stick with the pasta.
I wish I can give 1000 Kid-friendliness: The customize a nice spaghetti for my daughter Food : 5/5 |
Love the server here, shes so nice. Family run business I believe. Great food
Everything was just perfect, but what made it beyond that was the dessert with our anniversary wish and Mr. Vittorio (one of the employees of the restaurant) made as a surprise. So, Thanks for his finest service to us.
Great service by Vittorio, fantastic food by the chef(s). Prices were very reasonable for the quality. The spicy plate was quite mild, but that may be a tolerance thing. I will definitely return for future Italian cravings.
Not the same as before. Not coming back
As a born and raised Italian, I try to stay away from pseudo Italian restaurants that serve a North American version of Italian food. La Forchetta was an exceptional true authentic experience, from the quality of the food, to the kindness and home feeling of Marcella and Manrico. Felt at home miles and miles away from home. I wish I could be back soon, well you know what? Ill be back tonight! :)
Comfortable seating in a small restaurant. Home made fresh pasta is excellent. Taste is great. Pizza with thin crest is just right. Waitress is very friendly. Reservation may needed.
I loved the whole experience! The pasta was amazing! Specially the pistachio one! I also loved the service! Eva was so sweet and efficient! I super recommend and I will come back!
We had to wait 50 minutes from being seated for our food. It was okay, but the risotto s spiciness was a little weird. There was a rotten mussel too.
If youre on the hunt for an authentic Italian culinary experience that goes beyond expectations, look no further than this hidden gem, La Forchetta. The service was amazing, the owners friendly and hospitable, and the space bright and welcoming. We started with the Insalata dello Chef - a refreshing blend of fresh greens and vegetables with a well-balanced balsamic vinaigrette. The Gnocchi Bolognese in Rose sauce was perfect. Of course, a visit to an authentic Italian establishment wouldnt be complete without trying their Pizza Margherita and it did not disappoint...Crispy but light, with a perfect blend of sauce, cheese, and basil. I cant wait to go back and try the Paccheri Pistacchio and Burrata. Overall awesome experience.
You have to eat here, the food is amazing! I have been here many times and had many of the dishes and they are all good. The owners are amazing and friendly people and strive to ensure a great experience!
Way to much money for the experience
Delightful!
Went with a friend to check the place out for the first time - I almost feel bad leaving this review because the staff really were lovely. Super friendly, attentive and quick. However, the pasta was over-salted (heavily) and there were no fresh herbs anywhere to be found on the plate. The sauce was also lacking in flavour. While I see on the website and in responses to other reviews that both the pasta and the sauces are made in-house, when I compare this restaurant to other authentic Italian places in the Lower Mainland I am sad to say that La Forchettas high prices do not reflect the quality of the food. I also purposely ordered a dish which I have previously enjoyed in Italy, just to compare. This place has a lot of potential and is in a great location, but the quality of the food will need to be bumped up.
We enjoyed the food and service so much the first time we returned a second time. Staff are friendly and knowledgable. All the items we tried were fresh and tasty. If you enjoy good italian food you cant go wrong here.
This is one of the most authentic italian restaurants i have eaten at in a while. The chef is from Italy, and he came out to greet us to make sure our meal was good. I got the carbonara and it was fantastic.
A friend of ours moved close by. It was a great place to meet. Very clean, very friendly, and service was pretty good. This is family owned and run and oh my God they re tiramisu. Amazing!
My girlfriend and I went to this spot. We were very impressed to say the least. The food was amazing, the chef even came out to check how we liked it. Also our server Eva was fantastic. She took time to help us with options and also cared enough to talk to us after. This is an amazing family owned establishment. Would highly recommend.
Ive been here several times and the food is always amazing. Some of the best Italian youll have in Metro Vancouver.
Excellent service, delicious food and perfect atmosphere for dating. If looking for a semi casual dinning restaurant, this is highly recommended. Their pasta is perfectly cooked and extremely well blended. Update: We went again trying to order their Tris de Mere but unfortunately their menu have changed. However, the quality of each dishes didnt disappoint us. We love all the dishes and their dessert.
Real hidden gem!!! Delicious food.
The food was ok but the portions were very small and definitely not worth the price. Very sad looking very hard crust pizza is $24, appetizers size octopus $31.9!!!!! calamari $23.5. not a lot of stuffing agnolotti $26.5. risotto $30. pappardelle 26.5. Total comes to $170.52.
A real ITALIAN restaurant in Vancouver! Pasta, pizza and much more! All strictly done by them! All authentic! The fried pizza is super! Not even in Italy do I eat it so good! Well done!
Great dine in experience with fresh ingredients and original dishes. Friendly staff who s knowledgeable and give useful advice and recommendations on the amount of food we should order. We ordered the pizza bites with prosciutto starter but didn t get a chance to try the pizza, the octopus was tender and delicious. Would love to come back and try other things on their menu next time. Also the restaurant is very chic and clean Parking: Theres a few spaces for parking in the back of the restaurant Kid-friendliness: Spacious restaurant most of the food there is not spicy
I came here with my friend and our two daughters for dinner. We ordered the Margherita and Truffle pizza. Both were delicious and girls really enjoyed them. The Buffala salad was really fresh and nice. We also had the vegetarian pesto and Manila clams pasta. We all really enjoyed the pesto dish. The clams was okay but not our preference. For dessert we had the Panna Cotta and Pistachio Gelato. Let me tell you those desserts were so good. Our server was really kind and attentive and we really enjoyed her service. The washroom was clean and bright. I really enjoyed our time here and will return again, thank you.
Such a nice place for quality food , everthing fresh. Food was classic italian such a great taste. Sorry didnt take any picture because it was too good to be sitting on the plate and waiting to be eaten. Great service and good atmosphere. Thank you for making our evening
The food was great, the pasta dishes were very delicious and original. Love the fresh pasta! The panna cotta was amazing! Service was excellent! Wine selection could be better and ambience could use another star if they change the napkins to cloth and cover the tables with white table cloth. Overall great restaurant with great food. We will be back for sure!
I decided to celebrate my birthday with a large group of 11 guests based on a previous review where they accommodated 16 people. They were so lovely to us the whole time- the staff were all making sure I felt special for my birthday. I got a birthday drink on the house and they lit a candle and wrote out happy birthday with my dessert. We accidentally stayed 12 min past closing and they didn t even get mad. The chef came over to check that the food was good. Everything we had was very good portions for the price you are paying! I d highly recommend coming here for birthday parties. The ambience was perfect for us too. We are 30 somethings and we don t like it too loud and dark and no pumping music that drowns out your thoughts. Thanks again La Forchetta for hosting us!
Food was incredible. Service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was very clean. The chef also came out to check in with everyone and make sure we were enjoying our meal. I would definitely return.
We had our first dinner here about a month ago and I ve been thinking about it ever since! From the second we walked in we were greeted with warmth from our amazing server Eva. She took the best care of us all night and completely made our experience with her magnetic energy! My absolute favourite dish was the pistachio cream sauce and sausage pasta. The fresh made pasta was cooked perfect and I just loved the addition of pistachios. We also really enjoyed the bresola carpaccio, prosciutto and arugula pizza and the desserts was to life for! Highly recommend and can t wait to come back :)
This is the most amazing food you will ever taste. True Authentic Italian food made by the best people. Trust this review .I promise you will not be disappointed. Gnocchi and the most amazing martini empress lychee. Make a reservation and give it a shot
We have been twice in the past few weeks and the food here is amazing. Our server Eva (both visits) knows the menu well and always gives us great recommendations. We will become regulars here for sure.
We found out this restaurant by Google around Burnaby area for Italian restaurant. Found out its really authentic Italian food. The presentation and the taste its really good feel like homemade Italian food. The food not over powering but not weak as well.
Really rude owners and servers. Food is so salty! It s at the only location you have :) Burnaby :)
I really enjoy going to eat at this place. Authentic Italian cuisine is the best I recommended my friends and family and they loved it too
This is my new local favourite Italian restaurant! We had the special pasta of the week and it was absolute al dente to perfection! Their calamari is to die for and we devoured their prosciutto-bread twists dipped in their amazing marinara sauce. Loved their wine and the christmas cookie martini - WHAT?! On top of the delicious food, their service is top tier. We love Eva! She is the sweetest and most attentive server. Would come here every week if we could.
Great italian restaurant with an amazing pistachio pasta. It was made with fresh ingredients and tasted so good. The service was great as well, Victorio is awesome!
I tried this place for the 1st time last week for my bday dinner. I can t say enough good things about this restaurant. Everyone loved it! The service was second to none especially Eva! She had awesome recommendations. The food was delicious. I can t wait to go back. Highly recommend this place.
Easily the best Italian Ive ever eaten.
Delicious meal and personally greeted by the chief, how more authentic can you get. We celebrating Christmas dinner with our team and really enjoyed every meal that came out. I ordered the Gnocchi and my husband had the steak. The side potato s were the best we ve ever tasted. Well done. I wasn t a huge fan of the tiramisu and the drink service was a little slow but overall a great restaurant.
Loved it, especially the owners, staff and food. Thank you for having us. Excited to return
Place is an amazing gem in the neighborhood. Freshly made Pasta noodles and Pizza. High quality ingredients. Dont sleep on this one.
The pasta taste like when I went to Italy it was insanely amazing especially the gnocchi bravo!
My daughter and I went here for a special dinner. Service was excellent, food was excellent, atmosphere was, yes, excellent!!!
Everything that came to our table was fabulous. The place had a good vibe and we enjoyed the prompt service. A must visit.
First time there tonight! I can see why it was so busy! Best restaurant in Burnaby! Food was amazing 10/10. I could tell that the ingredients were all fresh and nothing was frozen. I had the seafood platter with fresh salmon, full shrimps, octopus and mussels and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. My friend got the spicy Italian pasta loved it to. We both shared a Tara Massu and had espresso coffees. The chef came out towards the end of our meal and greeted all the tables it really made the experience feel family orientated. The two servers Working tonight we re such rockstars they were incredibly nice and incredibly hard-working. Definitely check this place out!
Pizza was good! The margarita we got looked nothing like it does in the pictures unfortunately
Fantastic restaurant with fantastic staff/management. Will definitely visit again.
Start to finish was a unforgettable meal experience. 8 dishes between 2 people at a Italian restaurant and left feeling like we ate the perfect amount. Waiter is a class act too. Would recommend to anyone and everyone who appreciates food cooked with love
Great little Italian place in the heart of North Burnaby. Food was really good and not overly salty that we find at so many restaurants.
Quaint place, amazing authentic Italian food! Weve been a few times and will continue to go back. We love to support local when we can. Anything weve ever eaten at La Forchetta has been excellent. Favourites include: calamari, the pistachio pasta oooooh and the gnocchi... best ever... hands down (super decadent)! Its nice that they rotate the menu seasonally as well. Kids always have pizza and its fabulous too. The service is friendly and efficient. Definity a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Below average Italian restaurant. Food lacked flavour overall, no fresh herbs as garnish and tasted like there was no seasoning in the dishes we ordered. Tomato sauce tasted straight out of a can and tasted like it wasn t seasoned. $4 for 3pcs of stale bread that comes plain. Service was okay but needs to pay more attention to customers who are ready to pay so they can leave. Seriously don t recommend going here.
We went to La Forchetta for a nice birthday dinner and it did not exceed our expectations at all. We ordered the burrata to start and it was literally a blob of cheese and four cheery tomatoes with a tiny bit of greens. For almost 21$ this was 100% not worth it. Then I ordered the seafood pasta and my wife ordered the duck pasta. Mine was actually quite nice with a decent portion size but the duck pasta was extremely disappointing. It looked like pasta and tomato sauce. Nearly no duck could be seen. Unfortunately we wont be returning. Server was friendly.
Great good and Customer Service!
Came here with a large group on a Wednesday night and it was such a perfect dinner. The pizza was cooked perfectly and not soggy. Calamari was not over battered or oily and tasted great. The server was hilarious, welcoming and patient. He connected with us and added to the experience. Overall very happy with the food, service and atmosphere and will definitely go back!!!
Carmine was outstanding and provided 5 star service. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our night because of him, very entertaining and the food is excellent. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back :)
Food was just ok, but it had good service. Won t try it again .sorry.
Good service, super underwhelmed by both of the red sauce pastas we tried. The gruffly gnocchi was killer and the white sauce sausage pasta dish was very nice Good dessert too
a delightful place with one side being cozy and relaxing, and the other side more modern and bright. Manrico is a magnificent chef, each course was truly delicious. Now I truly understand how good hand-made pasta can be. The tiramisu was light, creamy with a strong coffee flavour that was an excellent finish to a marvelous dinner. Combine this with friendly and very professional wait staff, it made for a memorable anniversary dinner for us.
ltd amount of food selection; friendly service
Amazing food, and staff is great!
Absolutely, hands down the best quality Italian food in all of BC. Incredible hand made pasta, increadible sauces, all infused with the love and joy of preparing a delicious meal for someone to eat. The quality of ingredients is un-match, the ambiance is fantastic and the staff add to the amazing experience. Eat here, you will not regret it. 5 star in my books.
Very nice Italian Restaurant!
We ate the best pizza in all of Vancouver, thanks to Carmine for the service and thanks to the owner who joined us....See you soon....
Portions were ridiculously small for the price and lack of taste. I had been to this restaurant before (pre-pandemic) and quality has dropped significantly. The risotto was bland and unevenly cooked, and the pistacchio pasta dish was a bit too al dente. We paid around 70 dollars without any drinks but 1 coke!!!!! Shout out to the waiter in the patio, who took care of all tables, carrying dishes, going up and down the stairs all by himself. Quite a workout yet still super friendly.
Nice Italian food with a touch of country food.
Casual dinner. Rib eye is very nice here with charcoal smell and done perfectly. Bread is too expensive though $4 for 3 pieces and nothing special. Other dishes are good. We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 main courses plus dessert. Just perfect portion.
Friendly staff and good wine. Try the house red, it is excellent. Pizza was good, just skip the antipasti (small portions, not much variety).
Beautiful restaurant and amazing food!! 100% recommending this restaurant!!!
Absolutely delicious! Try truffle gnocchi!! Its
Great food and service especially from the bartender. Really put a lot of effort in to their service, dining experience and food. My go to Italian place.
Good Italian food.
Friendly staff
I had the gnocchi and it was superb. Portions were large enough to fill you up too. Definitely going again!
The best pasta in town. All fresh. Parking: Parking is just behind the restaurant
A great food experience! The dishes were all expertly prepared and the staff was amazing Highly recommended!
Very nice interior, excellent service and delicious food. Very well prepared and presented. A great place to take a date or enjoy a meal with friends.
Im so confused how this restaurant has any good reviews based on our experience. The restaurant itself is nice, looks classy and cute inside. Thats the only good thing. We ordered numerous items from the menu and all were below average. The pizza was extremely salty and the salad was completely flavorless. The gnocchi was really bland as well. They charge you $4 for bread but dont mention that its not complimentry(like all other restaurants). They ask you if you want bread for the table, and come back to ask you if you want more bread. Thats an extra $8 for little pieces of bread that youd think is free and part of the dining experience. Lastly, the server and other workers were not friendly one bit. I will stick to Cotto (amazing food & service) that is a minute away.
My friends and I came here one evening as we had been waiting to try this new spot in the neighbourhood. There is parking in the back and what appears to be a patio section too (of course, weather pending). I thought it was a smaller restaurant but when you walk inside there is quite a lot of seating which is nice. There was only one other table inside for dinner time when we went and two servers. Between the four of us we had ordered meatballs and a pasta each but it left us feeling unsatisfied food wise for the price point and slightly bothered by the customer service as it seemed like they were adamant to rush us out (we were there at 6 and nowhere near closing time). The meatballs felt pricey at $18 and nothing overly special. The pastas overall range $18 (cacio e pepe) to $28 (linguini di mare) but felt like a higher price point for no particularly special deliverance. Ordered the caserecce, papardelle, linguini, and calamarata - we all tried parts of each other s dishes and still felt soso for our meal. The severs kept checking in on us (food is fine but it wasn t enough to send anything back by any means) but it was to the point of can I bring the check and scoot us out over and over. We had not overstayed our time either (definitely within dining time of 1.5 hours and again - not busy). Maybe it was just an off night but it didn t leave us with a happy memory.
Excellent service, super nice staff, great food. Just wish I was hungrier!
Fabulous authentic Italian pasta. Cozy atmosphere and a great vibe! The team makes you feel at home. My new favorite. Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from for veggie
We were there last weekend for a Christmas gathering. We ordered four pasta dishes to share as family. The portion was definitely on the high end restaurant side, which means it didnt fill my teenagers. The pasta tasted decent, but not amazing to the point that I want to go back. The atmosphere was great though. Server was attentive. The tiramisu was a big hit for me personally. We were so hungry that we didnt even have time to take pictures. Probably wouldnt be going back.
