We went to a few sushi places in area in past year and couldnt find a place that was good. Then we just went to Green leaf for lunch and Im not joking the staff was amazing and helpful and even explained things to my mom inlaw order as her English is limited and they even asked if we had any allergies. Then the food came beautiful decorated and as soon as we had a taste we knew this place was a GEM I honestly would give it 10/10 great work to the entire staff and management will definitely be back soon

The food was not as we expected we paid about $50 and we also asked them to order the food with theyre robot and they didnt so we also asked them to give us an omg roll and they said Oh we are SO so sorry but we didnt care.

Food was amazing and phenomenal it was my first time here. Aside from when it came time to paying we had this staff woman explain that the wifi connection wasn t great so I tapped to pay and it kept loading and loading she than said try again which I did and than the third time I tried again by inserting the card and it still didn t go through. The woman staff proceeded to say so loudly try a new card which threw me off than I asked to see the machine and it says connected failed another staff woman came by and said sorry she is new we have a wifi connection problem which I knew it wasn t the cards problem. She left to get a better connection to the machine? Came back I tapped my card once and it worked. Just wanted to say the first woman who took my bill she should never tell a customer to try another card without figuring out what did the machine say .

Dont go here if youre looking for good Japanese food. They have a choice of like 6 rolls and the nigiri size is laughable. They didnt even have miso soup

First time here. Arrived 8pm on a Sunday, and the location was still busy, almost full. Ordered the Aburi Platter. Glad to know it was $10 off the menu, which brings it down to just under $80 after tax and tips. It was great to try the assortments this establishment has to offer.

During my time studying at the campus across the street in 2004, I frequented a restaurant for lunch on perhaps two or three occasions. I opted for the lunch combo, which I found to be reasonably priced and suitable for a student budget.

Overall nothing special about this place. Food has good flavor but painfully small portions, and very pricey for what you get. Service was also so-so, as had to ask staff for many items since they werent proactive (water refills, extra condiments, bill, card machine, etc). Can easily pass on this place since there are tons of other sushi options.

Really enjoyed the food and the experience overall. Chashu don was a surprise hit for me with the wasabi mayo. The mentaiko pasta add a bit of brininess from the fish roe which I personally enjoyed but it might not be for everyone. The shrimp tempura was decent but I think that the breading could be better. Finally, the OMG was really OMG size - you can t fit it all in your mouth but it s delicious. It was a bit busy and a lot of the food that we wanted to try was sold out but I would definitely visit again and gets a solid recommendation from me!

Green leaf is my favorite. I prefer the one in north van because they have the truffle avocado aburi. Still, this place is amazing.

Dined in. Holly molly, dishes were great. Salmon oishi, spicy tuna oishi, crab oishi, scallop oishi, all fantastic. Great toppings and rice ratio and is moist. Thank you chef! Tears to my eyes because it is that good! Snapper tempura, nicely fried, well balanced sauces and fish is tender. Salad was fresh and not wilting looking. Great job. Pork belly udon was a complete different story though. Udon and soup were good. But pork belly was dry and not done correctly. Overall, I would go back for the oishi and snapper tempura. Washroom is also very clean. Servers are friendly.

I made an appointment for my husband s birthday. The time is June fourth at 6:00 PM. It sounds like a frustrating experience.Booking an appointment only to find the restrount closed is definitely disappointing, especially for a special occasion like a birthday. Its essential for restraint to ensure their operating hours are accurately reflected and to communicate any changes or closures to customers in advance to avoid such situations.

This is a restaurant that I would like to evaluate as fusion Japanese food rather than authentic Japanese food. The price is a bit high, but the overall taste and quality of the food is good. When I visited, I saw that most tables were eating cream pasta, so I ordered it and it was delicious. In the case of Ohsi yuzu chashu, the taste of yuzu at the end balances out the greasiness of the pork. In the case of Spicy Tuna Ohsi, red pepper paste sauce was used to reduce the greasiness of the tuna, but it would have been more delicious if the red pepper paste tasted a little less. Overall delicious food!

I just had the kimchi cheese pan fried udon for $18. Waaaaaaaaaaayyy too salty, they put waaaay too much sliced processed cheese and not enough noodles. Half of the bowl was drenched in processed cheese. Made it taste cheap. The manager didnt even offer to exchange it, they made us eat it and pay for it. Every other dish was fine. Even my garborater of a husband couldnt swallow it down. Thats when you know its too salty. Like why would you make your customer eat something they hate?

So good!!!!! Every dish we ordered was yummy. Just go, you won t regret it. Wish I took more pictures of what our party had ordered but it was a night where I had so much fun that I forgot to. Food : 5/5

Food was delicious! We were thrilled with how our dishes came out given that this was our first time here. We were happy that their social media reflected their restaurant. Didn t give 5 stars as our server wasn t the greatest. Perhaps she just had a bad day. But it didn t take away from our overall experience from enjoying the food!

Amazing food! The service is fantastic, I believe my server s name was Reeta, she was very attentive and gave great menu suggestions. It was a very busy night so we had to sit at the bar but she gave us an available table as soon as it was free which we really appreciated. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone I know!

We ordered a shareable platter that consisted of several types of torched sushi. The ones with a jalapeno and olive on top (forgot names) were good but rest were a miss.

Love Green Leaf in Kits and we re super happy that the Burnaby location was excellent as well. The salmon oshi is the absolute best and I really enjoyed the tornado omurice. Extra crispy tempura and karaage. Anything you order will be amazing. Service is friendly and fast as well.

We were waiting on the list and they mentioned it ll take about 30 minutes. We got back after 1 hour and there are still 6 groups ahead and they mentioned they don t have enough chef. They didn t notice anyone on the list and just kept us waiting forever. Bad management and communication with customers, I don t recommend it at all.

Place was really poorly managed when we went out for Valentine s Day , didn t even inform customers when they kept having new delays from kitchen and weren t transparent about wait times. Don t mind waiting but at least communicate.

Went for valentines, had a horrible experience - waited 2 hours for a 2 seat (was told 1 hour btw) - waited another 15 for a server to take our order - was told 15 minutes after ordering they were sold out of ALL oshi sushi - waited another 30 minutes for the 2 side dishes we could actually order - didn t give us water or plates ( we had to walk up to the register and ask for it) I understand that valentines would be busy but the staff was so unprepared and running out of your signature dish is outrageous. At least have the decency to call the waitlist to let them know it s out. Left NO TIP and the server gave us a dirty look as if she deserved 30% for the non-service we received. Dont. Come. On. Holidays.

The service and staff were attentive but the kitchen is very very slow. We were told in the beginning it would be 25 minute wait and it ended up being 1 hour. After seated and immediately ordered, we were served the curry rice dish. The curry was cold and rice was lukewarm. Then waited for another half an hour without any oshi sushi in sight. We ended up leaving early and paid for what we were served because the service was so slow. They couldnt even serve sushi in 45 minutes... The table beside us told us they were seated at 6:45pm and were served one small dish at a time. By 8:15pm they had to rush the kitchen for their final dish that they ordered. I may try take out next time but not dine in.

Spent 3 hours here on Valentine s Day, 1 hour waiting at the door and 2 hours waiting at the table to have all the dishes and finish the meal. We were told the waiting time for oshi will be ~50 minutes because there were too many take-out orders when we placed our order, but it turned out we waited for 80 minutes. The servers were polite but the food was not worth waiting. To the owner and manager: you should PAUSE taking To-go/online orders when you even can t accommodate dine-in customers!

Don t come on Valentine s Day. They prioritize delivery orders over in person customers. Ran out of sushi at a sushi restaurant. Ridiculous

To preface this review, I frequent this branch a few times throughout the year when Im in the area. I enjoy the food (especially the aburi platter) and have no complaints about the service whenever I dine in. This is a complaint about my delivery experience. I am quite upset about our delivery experience on NYE as we feel extremely misled about the waiting time for our food. When we had made our order through Uber Eats, we were informed that the wait time between order and receipt was around 1.5 hours. We were fine with this and so made our order at around 6:30pm. However, when 8pm came around, our food was still being prepared. 30 minutes later at 8:30pm, the food was STILL being prepared. So a direct call to the restaurant was made, and we were unable to connect to a direct person until around the 3rd or 4th call attempt, to only find out that it will take another 20 minutes before our order will be ready for pick up. Including the delivery time, we did not receive our order until 9:15pm--almost double the estimated time of 1.5 hours. Understandably, heavy traffic is expected at F&B establishments on NYE. However, the restaurant should have been more honest with their estimated wait times as an order with an original delivery time of 8pm should not have resulted in a 9:15pm delivery time. A backlog of 1.25 hours is not very reasonable. There were no communications from the restaurant about this unreasonable delay, and we as the customer had to make the effort to reach out to the restaurant ourselves to inquire about the order status (not to mention the repeated attempts to get past the automated machine line). Recommend future delivery customers to order with caution on busy days.

I loved the tornado omurice so delicious!! However, I would not recommend the udon dishes but highly recommend their oshis and omurice

Greenleaf is one of my favourite places to go in the neighbourhood for oshi sushi! They are very reasonably priced and definitely satisfy my craving. I encourage you to try the platter if you are unsure of what to get at first otherwise the eggplant is definitely delicious and not as traditional. They also have delicious pasta options. They are Korean run and their staff are very nice and courteous. They also have a great takeout options if you just want to grab and go.

Great vegetarian options! Doesn t look super vegan friendly tho. Everything we had was delicious and a bit different from what I see at most sushi restaurants. Will definitely be coming back! Wish they open longer.

I came in with my girlfriend not knowing that they were closed due to staff at break. Instead of telling us to wait outside in the cold, we were welcomed, sat us at a table and gave us warm water. Immediately I noticed a great hospitality by the staff. Moments later we were notified by the chef that we could order early even though they re still on their break. Overall the staff was very nice and helpful, from the hostess to the kitchen the team itself deserve a 5 star. The food was amazing and all throughout the time that we ate, we had a great time and always felt that we were taken care of. We value great costumer service and we re always willing to pay for great costumer service. Thank you to all the staff for your good hospitality, for the experience and the amazing food. Very common, no surprise, beef tataki is really tasty.

Soo tasty! Saw their food online and my friend and I had to come try their mentaiko linguine. It was so creamy and well seasoned, and went so well with their salmon oshi, which was sweet, creamy and so good! We got their tornado omelette rice too and the sauce on that was crazy good. We also got the unagi oshi which was delicious and the dynamite roll which was huge! Definitely coming back to try more. Vibe was so cute too

Came here to celebrate our nieces birthday. What a great experience! Food was incredible from the sushi to the noodles.

I got so disappointed this time. I wanted to serve my friends because I got big help from them. Their poor service started from the beginning. On one of the water cups, there was a clear red lipstick mark, which was so disgusting. Later we found a brown hair on the top of salmon oshi. We already lost good mood and appetite and my frieds just tried to eat quickly to leave there. The worst thing was that they served the new salmon oshi in 30 mins when we were almost done. They didnt even say sorry politely. I paied full amout with 15% tip and now I regret why I added the tip, which they didnt deserve at all. It had been okay until this visit there but just one time of bad experience is enough not to go there again.

Loved this little gem! They can get pretty busy so try and go outside of peak meal times but love their omurice and oshi. They also have a great sake ice cream (non alcoholic but tastes really close).

Great food at a great price. Their salmon aburi oshi is comparable to the one at miku. I have had it at many other places and no one else comes close. They offer a great selection of aburi oshi, which is nice but I did not like the parmesan touch to the ebi aburi. It might just be me but it overpowered the shrimp flavour which was a no for me. Also, their OMG roll should come with a warning because it is HUUUGE. The portion felt like I was eating 3 rolls instead of 1, very worth it but was too much food for me!

This is a place tucked away in a small strip mall in Burnaby. It can get pretty busy so would recommend calling a day ahead if You want to reserve a table.. We ordered Charmisul Soju long with Tuna Oshi, Vegetable Udon, Cha-Siu Linguni and a Tufu Sushi platter.. Most everything was tasteless and needed a LOT of Togarashi and Hot Sauce but the Tuna Oshi was EXCELLENT Service was good and so was the ambience.. Definitely worth it to come here once but don t recommend any of the Udon dishes if You like spicy food

Ive eaten here twice and it tastes pretty good, but the roll on the last page of the menu cannot be customized to be well-done. I dont like the fact that you cant choose where to sit. But the service attitude is very good and they will pour water, but only ice water.

I told the waitress my colleague wants a to go order. I told her twice to put on a separate bill. That it s a Togo order for someone else. She ended up putting on the same bill. And I didn t notice. So I tipped both orders. While I was paying the bill. I asked if she could help me pack up the big platter. She said I will give you boxes. You can pack it yourself. We don t pack things for customers. I know big restaurants like M*KU pack for customers, but we don t. Yet. Still asking me for fixed tips. I still tips my dine in portion. because the other Asian girl server was very nice. Food was good. But service is very disappointing.

Finally checked this place out after all the hype, being recommended by foodies, atmospere is great, pasta was bland, the auburi sushi was ok,the rice dishes were good. service was terrible. literally asked 6x for drinks. it was a slow sunday with lots of extra staff.

Its a week day, and not crowded at all in the restaurant. It feels very comfy with a glass window view. Food is excellent. I especially liked the yellow tail sushimi. Actually everything we ordered was good. Beware that udon uses linguine rather than ramen or udon noodles. However, soup base is tasty. Service is just great. The waitress is very attentive. She even asked us whether we are alergic to any food.

The food was good but not something I would go out of my way for. I ordered the salmon abut I which was very good. They recommended the yukkake tuna and their mentaiko cream udon. These were also decent but I probably wouldn t order again. I am looking forward to trying other things though! I saw many people get their omurice. This location has lots of space and a nice interior. Staff were also friendly and helpful.

I ordered Uni sea urchin Bibimbab, cool concept but lacks flavour and the usual Bibimbab ingredients and sauce. I added Salmon Oshi sushi during last call, the sushi was just okay. Before I received my sushi, I was given the bill to pay because the restaurant want to close the cashier. This is quite unusual to give people the bill before they received their food. The customer service is really bad, and I would not recommend this restaurant. The food quality is just okay.

We came here to try the aburi sushi! After trying Minami s mouthwatering aburi sushi, we were recommended this place as another good aburi spot. They had quite a few choices of aburi to choose from. I really liked their salmon aburi, it was super tasty. The other types were good and some flavours were definitely interesting combinations, but salmon is my top favourite. However, the aburi is quite oily so I feel like I need to wash it down with a lot of tea. Obviously I can t compare with Minami, but this place is definitely worth a try as it is a bit more affordable for really tasty sushi.

Excellent place for date night. The servers were all very pleasant. Highlights: Mentaiko udon Salmon / Scallop Oshi Crispy gyoza were extra juicy. Parking: Some spots are 30 mins only.

The omurice tasted great. Though the gravy was a bit cold, the rice being hot made up for it. Also got the snow crab aburi and it was one of the tastiest things I ve ever had.

I am not a tricky customer to please but some of the waiters act like they do not hear or see you when you call them to ask for something and have very bad attitude. Green leaf sushi offers variety of Japanese/style foods. Their sushi is good but you must try their Vongole, Tornado Omelette, Mentaiko creamy linguine! Highly recommend!

I enjoyed it! Its a bit pricey, but the shrimp aburi sushi was the best :)

Food was tasty although the portion size was a bit small for the price. One thing I really disliked was how tables for 2 people were way too cramped together where you can hear every word the people sitting on the next table are saying even if they are speaking normally. If you are looking for dinner in a relaxed environment, this place is not it (You can get better seating at most fast food places)

The aburi oshi platter is always a hit, and great for sharing! I love the variety of flavours. The tornado omelette rice is good too. The omelette was fluffy and the glaze was nice and savoury.

I love their food! They provide great customer service, a nice atmosphere and great quality food. I eat oshi often and I love green leaf s oshis which taste great and fresh! I definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves oshi as much as I do

Had a great dinner! Food was awesome. Amazed by the salmon oshi. It was my first time and definitely not to last. The service was okay. The lady with red hair down was not attentive (maybe bc of her hair blocking her eye sight) and her long face. Other Asian ladies was friendly and polite. Overall worth coming!

I came here once in 2017 on recommendation from a friend, and the food was amazing. The Oshi Platter, and OMG roll left me wishing I had more stomach space to cram more deliciousness into my stomach. Fastforward to now, thought I would bring my parents here as they wanted to try some Japanese cuisine with more cooked dishes (not as much of a fan of raw sushi). The menu is the same as I remember it, with some more additions. Again, we got the Oshi Platter, added an Eggplant Oshi and OMG roll and it was still so good. Awesome as always.

One of the best places Ive been to. This place has an unusual sushi menu. For my taste, these are the most delicious vegetarian rolls! Especially Truffle avocado oshi! It was incredibly delicious. Quite a beautiful atmosphere and calm music. I highly recommend this place! We will definitely come back here more than once!

The Green Leaf is a restaurant where you can feel that they dedicate themselves to serve the best food and experience to the guests. From the environment to the plates, everything is well-done. My favourite dish is the Cha Chu Rice Bowl, which is a rice bowl that comes with a braised pork belly and an egg to be mixed in the pot. However, on my last visit, I tried the Yuzu Chashu Linguine. An outstanding restaurant that I recommend to anyone who likes Korean-fusion cuisine.

Huge menu - something for everyone Came here for dinner specifically for the pasta. Got the Mentaiko Creamy Linguine, linguine allo vongolie olio with uni, chashu bowl, agadashi cheese or mozza and an aburi tobiko roll. The pastas were great and super reasonable in price at around $20. I prefer Cafe de La O rangerie s mentaiko pasta as they have more of an umami taste but Green Leaf has loads of more options on their menu if you don t feel like pasta. Also the one chili pepper rating on the Mentaiko pasta isn t much as it wasn t that spicy. The chashu bowl was ok but the agadashi cheese was something we ve never had before and it was really good. The aburi tobiko roll seemed like a typical roll. If you want aburi or oshi you probably should stick to the regular rectangular shaped ones instead of a roll. I m not a fan of dim lighting. I like to see my food clearly and the lighting was just enough to read the menu. I m excited to go back to try the Omurice (omelette rice) options, the oshi and of course the sashimi.
