Thank you for visiting our Google page Family operated Korean Restaurant since 2017
Owner was not attentive and the food was really mid quality, the cold noodles taste like the ones from T&T. The bimbimbap was alright, soju shot glasses smelled like kimchi and looked dirty. The water they provided was warm tap water. For a family owned restraints the cleanliness needs to improve there are flies everywhere and the entire experience is just bad overall.
Seems like a family run type of restaurant. Good tastes great and very “home made” vibe. We’re here for last minute quick dinner. It took about 55 min for us from ordering to finish the meal for 3 dishes. Seafood pancake was the highlight! It’s crusty but also chewy. Individuals size pork bone soup and beef bulgogi were also great options!
Been here and had good taste a couple years ago but totally changed this time. Also see a bug in my container once I pull out the soup. The food was salty, I am sorry but only can give it 1 ⭐
Price point wise, I can’t really complain. Food are pretty solid, menu is diverse and covers good area of Korean food. Parking is usually not full. Interior is definitely outdated and feels old school. Not your insta place but for a quick and decent Korean food, I would say this place is a great place.
The ambiance of the restaurant was very similar to how Korean Dramas are which is good. I tried the hotpot, pancake, and gimbap. I like the hotpot and pancake, both were flavorful and big portion. Unfortunately, the gimbap was bland. Service was prompt and friendly. Parking was easy. Will dine here again for the hotpot.
Been here 2 times now and had to write a review as it’s a local mom and pop restaurant. Good food, it’s super fresh! I don’t care so much for the kimchi here it’s not that great. When you sit they give everyone a bowl of salad which is refreshing. The fried chicken was good, the seafood pancake was good but wish it was more crispy. Dumplings were good as well. It’s not exceptional but it’s good food! I’ll be back to support.
I love this place. The food is great and the prices are pretty good. They just renovated. I prefer what it used to look like, it felt more cozy. Prices have increased a little with inflation but this place is still great.
Great Korea food Very tasty soup, I tried the tofu seafood soup and the beef broth soup. Both of them were delicious. Great amount of fresh ingredients in them with noodles and comes with rice and side dishes and tea for free. The place is also clean and cozy and there's a free parking in front of the restaurant. Definitely recommend this place.
Food was okay at best. Other places have more options.
good good good
Small family owned restaurant. Pork meat was hard, better use better quality meat. But the price was good and the food was great. Food
been coming here for years. not a fancy place at all but who cares. service is good, food is always reliable and consistent, and even with price increases over the years it is still very affordable! I always get the gamja-tang but have tried other things too.
One of my favourite Korean restaurants in town. Affordable prices and yummy!
Hidden gem! The food was tasty and the portion was generous. Love their beef tofu soup! Would definitely come back again!
Its great! I love the gamjatang, it is my favourtie food ever. I love the salad that comes with it and the little kid that serves me is so cute and she smiles every time I come in. Overall this is one of my favorite restaurants and definitely recommend! I usually come here with my mom and she loves the soft tofu soup and loves going there.
Masita is my go-to Korean spot. It s a hidden gem just off the main road of Kingsway. Their pork bone soup/gamja-tang is absolutely delicious. The kimbap is freshly made everyday. I highly recommend this place to anyone craving a simple Korean meal.
My updated review: The food quality goes downside after the renovation. The soup had strong oil smell and its not tasty anymore. My review before the renovation: Not sure why it s temporarily closed? I ve been here a few times and it has the best tofu soup, mackerel fish and seafood pancake!
Had the bulgogi rice and cold beef noodles. It was alright.
The chicken was satisfyingly crunchy. I kept thinking about it after going home and was all I thought about while trying to sleep. It definitely sounded like the Minecraft eating sfx crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch My companions and I will return soon to conduct further research and discover whether the crunch was a one time event or a reason to keep visiting.
Havent been in a few years, but I thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The jajangmyeon was really tasty, and I think its still petty affordable. Had some soup, and two types of kimbap. Everything was solid and the service was great. Really easy to sit down with 2 kids and enjoy a quick meal. Food
This is a hidden gem. Authentic Korean food with a home cooked feel. The beef bulgogi hotpot will feed more than 2 people and the price point for all the other dishes are great. Try their seafood pancake and the black bean noodles. Guarantee satisfaction.
Particularly love their salad! Wish I could figure out what the dressing is. Have always ordered the beef tofu soup which is a delight although sometimes the amount of beef in it isn t consistent. Please don t skimp on the quality of the food you serve. Quality ingredients means more customers!
Service was slow. There were 2 waiters for a full house. Waited 25 minutes before they took the order. Food cane quickly. The fried chicken is soggy. None of the dishes were memorable.
This is the place to go to for a great value of food and great taste. Parking lot is small so be prepared to park on the street and walk a short distance. Came here for the first time tonight and it was delicious. I ordered the Pork Kimchi Soup and was surprised that a small bowl of rice and some side dishes were also included. Will be coming again to bring my friends or family to try this place out!
Food taste too salty Service is not good cold face, always short staff Food
Good food, best Korean resto that i ve been to. Definitely will come back!
The seafood pancake and cheese corn were good but the others were just ok. Service was friendly but not very attentive, had to wave to get service.
Ordered the Mandu ricecake soup, which is supposed to come with 6 dumplings (as indicated on the menu), but they shorted me and there is only 4. Really now?
As of writing this review they have been temporarily closed for some time. Yet, they are still 5 stars in my stomach. Please come back, I think of you when I m hungry. Seaweed side dish <3
Busy but fast
Yeah, I miss it very much. Please come back. I check here from time to time hoping it comes back. ---------------- Good as usual, but the seafood pancake today not as crisp in the middle. Its my fav korean restaurant !!!
Masita Korean restaurant is a popular dining spot located in a vibrant neighborhood. The restaurant boasts an extensive menu of Korean dishes, ranging from classic favorites like bibimbap and bulgogi to lesser-known but equally delicious options such as kimchi jjigae and dakgalbi. The restaurants atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a modern decor and friendly staff who are always happy to help you navigate the menu and answer any questions you may have.
The menu at Masita Korean restaurant is diverse and offers a wide range of dishes that are sure to please everyones taste buds. The starters are particularly noteworthy, with the kimchi pancakes and the dumplings being my personal favorites. The main dishes are equally impressive, with the bibimbap and the Korean fried chicken being absolute must-tries.
Good variety, nicely renovated, fair pricing, delicious food and fresh sides. Had seafood tofu soup with good variety of seafood inside, blackbean noodle was a good portion, beef bulgogi stone rice bowl was flavourful. Had a new employee first day on the job who was very courteous.
They have re-opened and our dinner was very good. Tofu soup was bubbling hot as it should be.
Very cute and cozy local place for delicious Korean food. It was very comfortable and the food was all delicious. Didnt take too long to be made and all reasonably priced. 100% will be back again, we loved it! Dietary restrictions: My brother has lots of allergies and they were super accommodating and helpful.
Love this restaurant!!!!
The best Korean restaurant. Authentic and good price!
Nice lttle restaurant for a quiet dinner or date. The owners are very lovely and inviting. Smaller menu but great flavour. The bulgogi and teokbokki are favourites (with soju of course). There are hot pot options, and the chicken is large and meant to share.
Great and fast Korean resto bar. We ordered the Japchae, seafood pancake, beef bulgogi, spicy cripy fried chicken. The portions are quite big but just right for one person. We ordered more for 2 people because I wanted to try out their food. I recommend this resto for a quick bite
Just bloody awfull...!!!! Website menu doesnt exist..( menu had 12 items.....thats it) ....reviews are fake (che ked 10 minutes before entering the place)...seafood hotpot had nonedible squid pieces and 6 or 7 shrimp and tofu in a sauce....pancake had more tough squid pie es....total waste of money...nobody else there except our group....should have clued in then .!!!!!!!!
Used to be a great place. After Reno, the tastes are all off now. Squid has no flavour, BBQ pork belly has a smell and it doesnt come with lettuce like the menu states, just some raw onion underneath....
Masita used to be our go to place for Korean food for the last 7 years. Got heart broken when it was posted temporarily closed last year. Visited them again after the reno and felt being robbed. The seafood soup went up from $11to $15. The sweet sour chicken went up from $12 to $26. The taste is also gone. Very disappointed and probably won t come back.
Masita used to be my favorite Korean restaurant. I was so glad that the restaurant has reopened. After the reno, lots of things have changed. The food is so expensive and not tasty. Dont go!!!
Everything is so good!!
Inexpensive and washrooms are clean
Parking: Limited free parking on premise (about 6 to 7 cars max), but does have more parking on street Food
Foods is tasty, price is acceptable, service is friendly enough, will ho back again.
Expectations vs reality, we ordered two sets of four pork belly (just like in the picture) expecting to cook it ourselves however it was already cooked, and what came doesnt look like 8 strips of pork belly. a little Bland too. could have updated their menu picture or told us that they dont serve raw meat for customers to grill themselves.
Really good soup! Seollongtang especially
I had an amazing dining experience at this Korean restaurant! The black bean noodles, tofu soup, and deep-fried chicken were absolutely delicious they hit all the right spots! What truly stood out was their exceptional service they continuously refilled our side dishes, making us feel truly valued. I cant wait to visit again and savor more of their delightful offerings!
Masita is a very comforting place for me to have a meal. The setting is not very fancy and almost gives off a street-side vendor kind of feeling (the kind you would commonly experience in Asia). The waiters are always friendly and the service is always quick. The restaurant is also open much later than most others. Their menu is on the smaller side but the prices are very good when compared to other Korean restaurants. I would definitely recommend the beef broth, it is so flavorful and warming on colder days. Their black bean noodles are also great for $15, they dont skimp on how much pork they put into the sauce. The seafood pancake is also a great item for sharing. Parking: There is free parking right in front of the building.
Homely cooked meal and the flavour is delicious without being too salty. You dont feel like you need to drink a lot of water right after. Very affordable meals too and i love their kimchi.
The food itself was honestly just mid. Their tofu soup is probably the only good thing, more salty than anything though. I advise you to not order their pork belly because it s all just overcooked and you don t even get the option to cook it yourself (even if the menu says so). The portion size of the pork belly was very small considering we paid $23 and it wasn t even enough to fill one of us. It really has downgraded (in terms of price and food quality) after its renovation, used to be my favourite Korean restaurant but I guess I ll need to find a new one now.
So far, both i and my husband got diarrhea for 4 days. Only connection between us was visit this restaurant and shared some food. Visited here for the first time even I live near by! It was really quiet and only one other team was there. So it was good for me. Their food were a bit pricey for me compared to other restaurant and very limited menu. Especially kimbob( )... they put only 6 basic ingredients, but it was $9. If you go to assi or H mart, you can get it for $4.99 or less Also, when I drove to the restaurants parking lot, I saw that the employees were smoked beside their building and it wasnt a nice view for me. So I was hesitant that maybe its better to go sushi garden instead of this restaurant Overall, I am disappointed with their food quality and prices. Parking: Space limited, maybe approx 10 or a bit more
Food is mostly great. We come here once every 2-3 weeks. But service is nonexistent. The lady working there who I suspect may be the owner doesn t look like she wants to be there whenever it is busy she looks very angry. Maybe because it looks like she is the only one serving customers. They need to hire another staff.
Awesome food just like how mom used to make it, if I grew up in Korea. Really like the Tofu soup.
staff is very disrespectful.
nice little restaurant, nothing fancy... food was great...however some dishes are a bit on the smaller side. overall pleasant
2022-23 Update from 5 stars to 1: They changed the menu, maybe changed the chief even the owner too. This used to be my favorite place, I went there like 3 times after these changes. I gave 3 chances because I couldnt believe this place went from amazing to terrible. I used to see the kind owner all the time who gave the best service and she even remember my name. Now I only see the other korean auntie server seems took over and only be passionate towards koreans(when she speak koreans). customer like me seems like she doesnt give a damn. Any after 3 trials of the new changes of mashita, I have never went back for the whole year. I hope Mashita notice and have some sense that, theres are plenty of selection in the area. I miss the old mashita that my friends would travel all the way to visit. I live closed.... the best family restaurant ever.... Whenever I go to try out other KOREAN restaurant I always be like MASITA is way better than this
Worst Korean restaurant ever. Never be an Athentic Korean cuisine. The reason you can t find any korean ppl here.
Came by at 8:40pm to eat and was turned away because they were closing soon. They close at 10pm... Very unpleased.
Food was good but service not. We have been to this restaurant many times but today was the first time that we received service this bad. We (2 adults and a 4-year old) arrived early at 11:30am for lunch and there was just one table with customers just getting ready to sit down. The waitress didn t bring us to our table but rather just gave us the menus at the door. We decided to sit at the table by the window and suddenly she yelled at us that the table has been reserved. Ok that s fine and we picked another table. When we ordered the waitress said we didn t order enough food (2 dishes) because we had 3 people. I told her we have never had any issue with ordering 2 dishes at this restaurant to share with our 4-year old before. She finally reluctantly took our order and warned us that next time we need to order more. Is this a new policy? If so, I would consider this no longer a family friendly restaurant. Unfortunately food alone isn t going to keep customers.
Good price for average Korean food
Really amazing food the service was nice and the food came really quick!!!
Delicious seafoods soup!
Bang for your buck
Did a take out on Sunday evening. Food came pretty quick. We ordered tteokbokki, jok bal, seafood pancake, and their fried chicken. Everything taste good except for the fried chicken. I will back to try more food when I am in the area.
Was quite disappointed by the food here. The prices are cheap but the portions reflect that - the Gamjatang soup had very little depth and the meat was still tough. The beef broth soup had decent flavour, but the portion was tiny. Tofu soup was average, but hard to mess that up. With so many other Korean restaurants nearby, won t be back.
Ive only tried delivery from here twice but I would say one of the better Korean restaurants in Vancouver. Pork bone soup I thought it was missing depth of flavour but actually its clean and not greasy. Meat is never dry and meaty on the bones.
Ordered army hotpot for 35 dollars and only a small bowl? U must kidding me with unbelievable price!
Nice
Fried chicken here is great
Its a waste of money.. The pork belly was overcooked and came with greasy ssamjang, and it came with red pepper paste as the sauce. LOL food court is better ^^..
Kinda average food.
Im wrong about the taste, you can give it a try
Edit: prices slight increase with smaller bulgogi portions for lunch combo. One of my favorite places in terms of affordable seafood pancake (haemul pajun). For the same portion, other places will charge $15-$18. Their before 3pm BBQ combo is a good value as well at $15 for seafood OR beef tofu soup and bulgogi beef. The soup isnt as flavorful as other places though. As a side note, I happened to be there when the health inspector was visiting (July 15th, 2019) and overheard the conversation (not very discreet of them to talk when I am within earshot) that there are issues with their refrigerator/refrigeration of foods and the inspector seem to imply that she will shut them down unless they fix the issue ASAP, so the owner is calling the company to come fix it today. The inspector was getting impatient waiting though.
The service was not that great, and the kimchi wasnt fresh.
good food and taste good.
Great casual Korean food place away from the downtown parking crowds ~ perfect for authentic traditional comfort food. Came here on March 20/22 & they still checked for vax cards (no prob for us) & the friendly staff wore masks. Tables are still nicely spaced out, which I m grateful for. They offered us tea and once the order was made, the wait for food was short. We both had the grilled mackerel with seafood tofu soup which also came with rice & the appies of seaweed, fish strips & kimchi. Also ordered an appetizer of japchae ~ but forgot to take a pic! Good portions for the price, flavourful & filling! Free parking at front & back at this stand alone resto. Will be back! (*find me on Instagram @aida.loves )
Great food. My favorite... spicy pork bone soup. Not 2 spicy and incredible flavour
Food was good
The food is decent, price is reasonable, but they close earlier than many other Korean places.
First time having hot pot . I must say Im not a fan. The ingredients were outstanding, great presentation but I just wasnt getting into it like I do with Pho noodle soup or Ramen . Nice place, very clean and plenty of room between tables .A few ( free ) parking spots out front. Service was good but very quiet, server came & left,no chit chat. If you like that well, come here .
Great service good food.
worst attitude from the lady at noon.
Delicious Korean tofu pot, I like it!
Good!
Went here with a small group and I was so impressed with this place that I had forgotten to take photos! The food smelled and looked so good that we dug in soon as they came out. The price and amount of food was so cheap how can you not like this spot?! If you are hungry and on a budget this is definitely the spot. We enjoyed the sides so much that it disappeared in seconds and the waitress was super attentive that she gave another round of sides right away. Really impressed with this restaurant compared to all the others that are trying to charge you an arm and a leg for little to no protein. They know how to feed people here!
Think I have rated this restaurant before So am a return customer from Richmond to eat Korean food in Burnaby. Why? Cause the food is great and price and service good too. Parking most of the time, ok watch out for the broken pavement right on the center of parking lot
Good service , nice staff. And Goood food. I was a little disappointed as they did not have bibimbap, but thats a me problem. Try their bulgogi
love this place so much but today s experience is very disappointing. this is my first time ordering jjangmyeon for take out through door dash, they didn t give me chopsticks. how am i suppose to eat it now? do they expect me to have chopsticks in a study room in college?
Portions are small but flavours are good. Very home cooked style at this house restaurant. We enjoyed the soups and grilled mackerel.
-late review, Madura is temporarily closed- Masita is a great place to try Korean food. It s easily missed on Kingsway, but it s a great mom pop shop. The value for 3 dishes are unbeatable and can fill up 2-3 people for under $30. My favourite dish they have is the black bean noodles, but they have a huge variety of dishes to choose from their menu I haven t gotten yet that I m sure is delicious. Def a must try for burnaby
I ve been going here for 6 years. Nobody makes better hot tofu soup then them.
What a pity
25 bucks for four pieces of chicken half the size of ones palm...
I ordered a single serving of gamjatang, and it had no smell and had a lot of meat and was delicious. I also enjoyed the seolleongtang!!
Great little restaurant. I had the beef bulgogi in a hot stone bowl and it was great. Its definitely one of my favourite Korean dishes. I also liked the sides that accompanied it, especially the fish cakes.
the restaurant name means yummy but I dont know.. the location is good. but the food itself was not really satisfying. my group just finished the dishes just because we were so hungry.
Good good. Good price. Good service.
Food tastes good.
The food is great, the prices are reasonable, the service is good.
Good comfort Koreans food. Reasonable price
Food is 10/10, so good and but also very affordable. Authentic korean food and not too spicy. However, it also comes with authentic korean type customer service which you should be ready for.
The food and services are good most of the time. However, just saw that the waitress put a bowl of rice back into the rice cooker today 0.0 even if it is not been eaten, it was already on someones table...it is really not okay especially during this time...
I went with my Japanese friends, and the service was great, the food came out quickly, and the food was delicious!! I think Ill go there whenever I miss Korean food
I love their japchae. Its so addicting.
Dropped by for lunch on the patio area, and really enjoyed our experience. The waiter was very attentive and polite, and all the food was great! The lunch special with the tofu soup and galbi was great to share, and the fried chicken was good, crunchy and not too much batter. The seafood pancake was also crispy and filled with ingredients and not over battered and soft like some other places. Overall I would definitely go back again!
My favourite little Korean spot. Love the kimchi and bulgogi, super friendly staff. I haven t had a bad meal here!
I really like how the BBQ ribs taste because its perfect since its not too sweet nor too salty. The spicy tofu also nice as well with a good portion even though mostly are filled with tofu, but its still tasty though. Meanwhile, the boneless chicken is crispy and tender which is perfect. One of the great thing, is the side dishes that was given because we got a few side dishes. The waitress are also friendly and sprightly to the customer. Overall, its really worth it to try this restaurant!
A small restaurant with its own parking. This restaurant serves smaller portions of korean dishes for a fraction of the price. Instead of paying $20 for a gigantic korean pancake, you can get quite a decent size here for $10 which is an incredible deal. The pancake was really good with the fried imitation crab on top which is the way I like it. Their soups are a little lacking. I had the gamjatang which is usually has deep flavors and with perilla seeds, I found this to be more bland like a regular doejangjjigae. It did make it up with 3 giant chunks of pork neck which had ample meat on it. The tofu jjigae was just very regular - maybe not enough umami from the dashi stock. Nothing special to say. The appetizer gganpoonggi was also very cheap at $10 since a larger dish, maybe double the size, is around $25. I would say the taste is ok but there was a lot of batter. Their side dishes are unlimited but when we asked for refills on all 3, they gave us only 2. Overall, I think dishes are hit and miss but the prices make it up. You dont need to pay $$ to end up with something that wasnt that good. I will definitely come back for the pancake and try something else.
Staff are ignorant and unprofessional and they dont know what a good customer service means.
Best Korean restaurant in burnaby
Waitress was rude and unfriendly. She kicked us out of the restaurant. She did not allow us to get a table even majority of us arrived. Probably, they dont welcome business. We left and found another Restaurant which welcomed us.
Good restaurant
Pretty decent, the cheese chicken is pretty fun
Very good value for the price. Their fried chicken is good!
Delicious food will order again
My family has been coming here for years. Excellent, reliable Korean food - great prices and portions! Their lunch specials are a steal! Im writing this as Im eating the leftovers from yesterday evenings takeout. Still just as delicious reheated :) Masita is definitely one of the best Korean restaurants in Burnaby. Also, THE SEAWEED SIDE DISH IS TO DIE FOR!!! I could eat it all day.
This place was alright. Tried the tofu soup and it was very oily perhaps due to the chilli oil. Don t come here expecting service. The sweet and spicy chicken appetizer made up for it.
Great food for great price. Period. Definitely coming back
I really love this place especially the people here are so friendly. They will assist you for what you need. The food is great with decent serving.
There was almost no one there at 4pm, and the food was served very quickly.
Excellent food and nice menus with pictures. Never mind the not super attractive outside view ;)
Good food. A little bit on the pricier side.
Food was tastier than expected. Atmosphere, restaurant, ans service could be improved
Delicious seafood soft tofu bulgogi I ate well and the service was good.
One of the best Korean places you will find alot of value for your money.
Great food and friendly staff. Highly recommended
We found this restaurant randomly, after not being able to find a table at other places in the area for an hour on a busy Saturday night. We ordered bulgogi beef and the K-army stew hot pot. Both were very rich in flavours and had a good presentation. I do think the K-army stew portion is smaller than most other Korean restaurants that I have tried. I also asked for extra spicy but it was not made that way. The sides dishes were though plentiful and you can refill twice. The third time they limit to one of the 3 they offer: our choices were seaweed salad, kimchi and fish cakes. The rest of their extensive menu looks interesting and I would consider coming back again. Parking is plentiful and its an unique setup as the restaurant seems to be in a three storey house. Service was so-so, largely because the servers were Korean and did not have fluent English. I found pointing to the menu and repeating names of dishes necessary to order.
Food was solid. The fried chicken was well cooked, and cheesey dishes were served with a good amount of cheese. Minor downside was some pork dishes were a little dry, but it was still an enjoyable dish.
Service is great. Feel like every table is well taken cared of. Love the mom and pop feel of the resto. The menu items need to be improved though with more options. Understand though that the operation is small and with COVID-19, there is less table to support a grand menu.
Customer service is bad. When we arrived, the waitress just directed us to the table at the end of the restaurant. The table setting is not arranged properly and and it wasn t clean. There were rice on the chair and on the bench.
Very good idea
The manager is not nice also so complicated. If you are a foreigner, they don t accept your country id. So they expect us to bring our passport everytime we want to dine in, it s inconvenient. not recommended this place.
Good value and tasty food. Feels very authentic.
Love this place! Affordable, home-style Korean food just hits different.
Flavorful
BBQ beef was tasty and so was the army soup, but the portions are of other Korean restaurants. BBQ pork and fried chicken were so under seasoned and bland. Also $6 for a can of Bud Light is robbery. $200 meal for 3 guys and we had to get A&W afterwards... Definitely do not recommend this at all. There are tons of great alternatives in the area.
Food is good but wait time is long.
Concur with the reviews on service and food. Under-seasoned food, under-whelming portion size, and most definitely under-achieving service.
I highly recommend this restaurant, which is delicious, reasonably priced, and very friendly.
Great food, great price! Very friendly staff!
Honestly, I have nothing to complain about. I really like their tofu beef hot pot. It tastes so good. And the price is reasonable based on the quality of food. I definitely, I will visit again.
Good food but not good service
We probably ordered more than we needed. The food was good. Somehow I felt all the dishes were too sweet. If I only had one main dish with rice, I might feel okay with it. However each dish tasted sweet, that s not so enjoyable. Also, the kimchi didn t have proper taste.
Had the seafood pancake, beef bulgogi, pone bone soup and the ricecakes. The price was really reasonable and really liked the meatiness of the soup and the fluffiness of the pancake! Will definitely return!
Love this place! Love the seafood pancake and beef! Frequent this restaurant.
Staff super nice and friendly. The food taste good and price is ok.
