Sweet and spicy chicken, japchae are the best !

Tonight was our first time trying Na-Re Korean Kitchen and what a great find in the Edmonds neighborhood! We ordered the soya sauce tteokboki, half and half Korean fried chicken - original flavour and sweet & spicy (not super spicy but a good zing) and the LA Galbi (Beef Short ribs). All the dishes were amazing - wonderful flavours and the portions were very generous. It was a lot of food for two people so we re looking forward to leftovers! The staff was super friendly and happy to offer suggestions. Looks like they are popular in the neighborhood and do good takeout business too. We will certainly be back and bringing family & friends.

Delicious and generous dishes, plus great service! First time here, so tried my usual Beef Bulgogi and Bimimbap to see how they stack up. We also tried the sweet and spicy Fried Chicken, and Cheese Tteokboki to round things out. Everything was delicious, amounts were generous, and service was great - although there were some occasional difficulties with understanding the accent. The place was beautifully decorated, and the only discomfort was that it was a little cold on a cold winter evening. Would definitely return to try more items on their menu.

My friends and I visited this restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint. The waiter (unable to get his name) was very friendly and courteous throughout our dinner. Food was absolutely delicious!

A great place to have korean Food. The servers, the manager are outstanding. The vibes and the food taste is unbeatable. Its very affordable too. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy korean Food.

Staff are friendly and professional, cozy atmosphere. But the food is really underwhelming. We got a ramen and mazesoba. The ramen was just shin ramyun (korean instant noodles) with a few slices of hot pot beef. The maze soba was spaghetti with hot pot beef and an egg. If it was a food court/food truck and the dishes were <$10, this might have been acceptable. But almost everything is over $20... for really simple dishes made with cheap ingredients. Before we ordered, we even asked the waiter if the noodles were made in house, and he said yes. Seems a bit dishonest.

Tried their dookbaeki bulgogi and sweet chilli fried chicken. It was really good!!! Chicken had good amount of meat and sauce was very yummy! Dookbaeki was very good too and the portion was big! The place was really busy! I was glad I went a little before the dinner rush. The service was excellent too!! Definitely coming back!

Good Korean dishes and cozy place.

Wow, food was so fresh and tasted delicious! Was blown away by the flavors and how good everything was. Service was great also. The restaurant shared some fried chicken on the house. Amazing taste. Looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu choices. A must try restaurant if you have the opportunity to eat here.

Service was friendly but missed a couple of things. Server recommended the Grilled bulgogi. It was a little dry and you cant feel the sizzling of freshly grilled beef. Vegetables were also thin strips instead of bigger pieces Im used to. Lower end of most bulgogis Ive tried 4/10. The cheese ramen rice cake was okay, as we didnt expect too much from this dish. The sauce was okay but a bit too sweet and the sauce did not penetrate into the rice cake. 6.5/10. The ambiance is good for a dating couple though. And the alcoholic beverages seem interesting.

Super delicious soy marinated crab!

We had a party of 16 and had a great birthday dinner here for my mom. Although they sold out on stuff the rest of the food was great. Service was great and helped us combined a table for 16. Thank you for the fun and the music. I recremended

I went there on the evening of the 22nd. The addition of carol songs to the cozy atmosphere makes me feel good, and I am especially grateful for the service of the staff and the kindness of the owner. In particular, the fresh crab was mixed with warm rice mixed with crab meat, and it was delicious... In addition, bulgogi, fried chicken, and tteokbokki all taste fantastic. All the food is neat and delicious. Highly recommended~~

Small restaurant. Everything is pretty good on their menu. Decent portion. But be careful they get easily full tables. Make a reservation to make sure you dont need to wait too long!

Had dinner from Na-Re again. Always delicious, large portions and good value. The fried chicken was great as usual and we love the bulgogi! They have a great variety of food and friendly staff.

We sat down an hour before closing and were welcomed in. The hot tea, kimchi, potato, and daikon were complimentary and the tea was freshly brewed. We ordered the cheese buldak chicken, raw marinated crab, and the corn cheese. They all came out within 15-20 mins. The cheese buldak is a massive heap of spicy chicken. The menu claims its extremely spicy, but we didnt find it to be the nose leaking type of spicy. The chicken is in generous chunks so if you were looking for wings, try another option. It was my first time having raw marinated crab and it was delicious!! They offer the soy marinade and we got 3 full crabs to munch on with a side of rice. The server offered me scissors to cut into the legs which was super helpful. The texture and taste is very similar to raw scallop. The cheese corn was some of the best Ive ever had. It wasnt overly sweet and the cheese didnt get a chance to solidify before it was shovelled into our tummies. We definitely stayed past closing but the staff never rushed us. We were thanked as we left and overall this was a delicious experience.

If based solely on the food, my rating would be low. The sweet and spicy chicken had no spiciness to it and the chicken lacked a decent crunch profile. The seafood pancake was slightly undercooked and heavy on a dough like flavour. That business out of the way, I absolutely LOVED the customer service, cleanliness and friendly vibe of the place. I wish them success.

Pretty good food (original fried chicken and sweet & spicy, and spicy squid over stone rice bowl), service is okay. a good place to visit if craving for some korean food. We have yet to try other dishes, so we may come back if we are craving variety of korean dishes. I prefer a place where they specialize in one or two type of korean dish (e.g. tofu soup / korean chinese / etc) and this place is a good generalist rather than a specialist. The friend chicken is the old generation style, its not fancy as other contemporary korean fried chicken places. I like this type of kfc sometimes.

Not exactly cheap, but the OG boneless chicken was indeed very tasty.

I don t know what went wrong in their kitchen, but it took an hour for the food to come out the day we went. For all the other tables too. It felt like 1 person cooking one dish at a time. And the food is so mediocre. We ordered the ganjang gejang and after waiting so long for it to come out I was so excited, and then it was so bad. My partner ate one and didn t touch the rest. I had to force myself to eat it because it s expensive and I didn t want to waste it, but omg it s so lacking in flavour, it s just slimy and fishy. Isn t it supposed to have some of the orange innards on it too? It didn t have any of that. Oh and don t order the soju flight, it s just juice with 1 drop of soju in them.

Last week I brought my friends to this place. It was my third visit. The food was well prepared with generous portion and nicely presented. It was quite busy night but staff was very friendly. Absolutely amzing

Very tasty! Everything was really good. The only critique I would have is their special Korean fried chicken dish. It comes with four special dipping sauces, but the portions were very small. We could barely dip two or three pieces of chicken. I would recommend ordering the other fried chicken dishes where they cover all the pieces with their respective sauces. For example the soy sauce sweet chicken our table next to us appeared to be completely covered in the sauce.

The service is really really good and you know you ll be taken care of here. I had gotten the cold noodles which were really good, i asked for the sauce on the side but they had made a small mistake and forgot. I didnt want to send the food back because i didnt want to waste food, but the staff still tried to help by giving extra soup and some sweet drinks. I really appreciated them going the extra step to make me enjoy my food

It s a very casual Korean restaurant and their menu is diverse. Ordered The spicy cold noodles and bibimbap which was delicious and hit the spot for me. The price is a bit too high I feel. Sadly, they did not have soy marinated crab which I really wanted to try. Wished they were open later for late night eats.

Definitely not a place for vegetarians or vegans, though they do have one vegan soup dish, everything else comes with meat even if not listed on the menu. Had the Na-Re Special Bulgogi Noodle and kimchi fried rice and both were great. The cheese on the fried rice was so smoky.

Service was nice and food was super fresh and delicious. I thought the chicken was perfectly fried and tossed in the right amount of sauce. I usually think bibimbap is overrated but wow the portion size for this one was generous and so yummy.

NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY restaurant. My first time dining out with my 7 month old and it left me with a horrific experience. Now I need to think twice before thinking my kids out =( The owner was yelling at her staff IN FRONT of us literally in the middle of the restaurant. Not only did this stressed me and and made me extremely uncomfortable and nervous, I think this also made the other customers very comfortable. My baby is just learning to eat and it was her first time eating out with us. The owner was mad and furious about her floor and table being messy and dirty. The service before the owner appeared and started shouting was great. The waiters deserved a 5 star, but being traumatized after by the owner left me no choice but to give a negative review. Did anyone else go there with their kiddos and had a bad experience because of the mess?

This place has some of the Korean food I ve had on Vancouver! Their Na-re chicken and all the sauces were great and the beef tartar had great flavour. The Beef Bulgogi soup was sweet and still kept its strong beef flavour!

With the Korean pop culture wave sweeping in, it appears that more Korean expats are diving into the local food scene. Regrettably, it seems like many of them may not have a strong culinary background, and this spot fits that description. The place is clean, and they know how to present their dishes well, but they could definitely step up their game in terms of portion sizes and flavour.

One of the best Korean Friend Chicken I had in BC. The chicken skin is so crispy and the meat is so juicy. The price is in the mid-level, but is definitely worth it. (I have everything taken photo except the chicken ) The soju taste flight is very pretty, but I got it for the look, after trying 4 different flavours, next time I will just get the one I like the most. (More value)

Very disappointed with fried chicken for the price. Fried chicken was oily. For $32 there wasn t much chicken and not even any radish or sides. Also note the happy hour price doesn t qualify for to go, it s only for dine in.

I ordered the spicy jajangmyeon which is not too heavy (not sweet and salty enough), but the Na-Re Special korean fried chicken was pretty well fried; except the sauces were soso and too little.

I liked the bibimbap (the vegetables were fresh and plentiful) so I ordered the japchae, which is a japchae with very little onion and pumpkin. The seasoning wasnt delicious and it was very disappointing for $19. Please do not order japchae at this restaurant.

I typically dont give 5 star reviews but this place deserves this rating. Its a smaller family owned korean restaurant that has a very homey vibe. They have about 10 tables total and the environment is clean and fresh. Food was spectacular, some of the yummiest Korean food Ive had in the lower mainland. The Korean fried chicken is to die for. Would totally repeat just for the fried chicken alone. Prices are pretty fair for quality and portion size of food you get. Services was superb and the server gave us free sauce to try with our fried chicken to experience the difference flavors. Ill definitely be a frequent customer at this restaurant!

First of all, I had to give this place at least a one star in order for me to be eligible for writing a review. When I first entered this restaurant, the worker seemed busy so I waited until he noticed me. After like 10 minutes waiting he walks up to me saying that half of their menu is not available. He also added that their open sign is not turned on as they dont have many available foods to serve. Yet, I said it would be fine and so we sat down without having our vaccine passes checked. Overall I rate this place a 0 star. I didnt get to try out their food though, but just by how they manage their restaurant, I believe they would buy their products off of amazon and resell them. Oh, and also there was this man waiting for dine-in, and I was the one who had to help translate what the workers were saying in Korean about the menu. The workers should be the one telling the customer about the menu, not me. The situation was just ridiculous. Eventually, the Chinese customer left as well as myself and my boyfriend.

Very good food, lived the LA Galbi (beef short ribs), they were very tender and tasty. Loved the cheese buldak (spicy chicken). Service was extremely good, all the time refilled the tea even before finishing it. The owner Lady was really nice. Highly recommend this restaurant for both food and service.

Cute little restaurant and the waiter was soo nice when we came for lunch. Ordered the kalguksu as I rarely see it on menus here it was good but I d probably only order it again if I was craving. The tteokbokki though might have been the best I ve had. Will def come back to try some more of the menu. EDIT: Came back to try dinner and was not disappointed ! Have to recommend the Na-Re special which gets you four different sauces to dip your chicken in. The chef (I assume) was the nicest lady and after bringing us our food she checked in with us several times to make sure we were happy with our food, which we definitely were !

One of the best if not THE best place for chicken, service is great, although the wait times can be long ordering ahead or making reservations will help with getting your food fast and satiate those cravings.

Just want to say the half & half chicken is the best KFC I ve tried in the city. Seriously . Also tried octopus bimbibap is excellent . Also the army soup. I would go more often but got kids now so very hard to get out of the house with kids and eat at a restaurant.

Absolutely loved everything we tried, the special is a huge batch of deliciously tender chicken with a variety of sauces, each one a treat. For a small place, the interior is fresh and inviting, the staff is very friendly and attentive, and cold noodles were great! Definitely will be coming back for more.

Small cozy Korean place. The cuisine style is very homemade style. Price is very reasonable. We ordered a lot of food for 4 and the bill was $90 (5dishes). The noodles were great, LA Kalbi and bibimbap was good. Wish the Tofu soup could be more flavourful. I would come back. The server was nice and go out of his way to help us. We found this place on the googletron and went for it. Lots of free street parking in the area. We walked up and the place a fun modern feel. The location is small. 10 tables and holds around 40 people max. All to say you may have to wait like we did. They have a system at the front door where you write your name and phone number on a piece of paper and they will call/text you. There is no waiting area. We walked around nearby and killed time at the nearby Edmunds community center. For just random entertainment go watch the kids play basketball ball or the chaos of the public swim park. Once it was our turn We were quickly seated and served. We ordered quickly trying to beat a big party of 8 at another table. They give you these free Korean appies which were tasty. Our food arrived very fast. We ordered squid on rice, their famous fried chicken with 2 flavors, a Ramen dish, and a beef pancake. All the dishes were excellent. The beef pancake was missing something and slightly under done so that one dish was just ok. Over all the service was excellent and the price point reasonable $$ to $$$. The location does take out and was very busy with a long but fast moving line.

Cute little Korean restaurant, very homey vibe. Ordered the half and half fried chicken: sweet soy and original, black bean noodle (jjajangmyun), soy sauce tteokboki (rice cakes), and tofu soup (soondubu). Left with a super full stomach. The tofu soup and fried chicken were really good but the noodles and tteokboki was a little lacking flavor. Friendly staff. We got there at 5pm when they opened. No line at that time but the restaurant filled up quite quickly. By the time we left there was a party waiting for a table. The tables are spaced out but there are no dividers between.

It was our first time trying Korean food and we don t think we could ever go to a better place. The food was just Chef s kiss . The service was literally top notch and environment was great. Both of our servers helped us a lot for choosing our food options as we are vegetarian. I just love the vibe. We definitely gonna come again. From today they just got us as theirs regular customers.

My wife and I heard good things about this place from a community food group so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is owned and run by a family and its reflected in the care and friendliness of the service. The food was amazing and some of the best Korean food that weve had in the GVA. Yes, even better than most places on North Road. We ordered beef bulgogi and a spicy tofu soup and both were on point. Everything including the side dishes were very authentic and had the home-made feel to it. Normally the kimchi or some of side dishes that are offered at Korean restaurants are too strong for my tastes but the ones here were so good that we asked for refills multiple times

LONG WAITS FOR FOOD! BUT AMAZING CHICKEN It took almost an hour for our Korean fried chicken to come out, this is the longest wait for any restaurant and I ve been to fancy, medium price to even small businesses. I ve been to a lot of Korean fried chicken places too. They need to have batches ready to fry or multiple frying stations. Whatever they can do because it s ridiculous. If the restaurant is more packed I could imagine you waiting for 2 hours lol! My favourite dish here is their mixed fried chicken (soy and spicy) , BUT due to their wait I ll never come here again unless it gets better. Waiting for food is not ideal for any businesses. Their tofu soup seafood is bland, but have a lot of ingredients which is on the plus side. They should have more broth , spicier and more flavours. For the price, doesn t hurt to have a bit more broth instead of a small single bowl. Keep the same amount of ingredients though :) The spicy black bean noodle dish was delicious. Overall, wondered why it took an hour for Tofu soup or noodle dish to not come out first. It would have been nice to snack on something while waiting for the fried chicken. We were so hungry that it was getting uncomfortable but also having an empty table close to others (seats are VERY close to others) while the other table was filled with food doesn t help lol. Staff was generic. They forgot spoons for our soup, asked to refill the tea after we were done our meals. Our tea was empty for a while due to the long waits Price: great price for fried chicken, they give a large portion. Otherwise price for everything else is a bit costly for the portions

Wife and I bought the half and half. Immaculately fried, taste was good and the portion was huge. We took our food back in a box and an elderly ajumma came out from the kitchen to help us. The sweetest lady!

Tried the Na-Re Special chicken which came with three different dipping sauces and matcha salt. The chicken was super crispy; the matcha salt was a perfect combo alongside the dipping sauces as well. The server was kind and fast, which made the overall experience even better. If I had to describe Na-Re in a few words, Id say its a laid back home-y vibe with casual bites thats great for groups.

Tiny hidden gem outside the heart of highgate. You get to choose between a mix of traditional and modern Korean dishes that s hard to find in one spot. The place is dainty and the food is made right. To top it off, the servers here are such friendly sweethearts. If you ever are at this side of town. I high recommend dropping by to unwind and have a delicious meal.

I was shocked by the manager s terrible service in this restaurant. He missed my order, I didn t get my food until my friends finished theirs. When I asked how would he make it up for the mistake he made, he simply said he didn t hear my order even though he confirmed that when we placed our order. He lied right on my face and keep making excuses until i asked for their boss. I highly recommended to replace this manager or retrain him if you don t want to lose more customers.

Every dish is so good here! The restaurant is small so come early if you don t have reservation.

Food was mediocre. They told us they sold out of chicken after we ordered. The service was very friendly though but Prob won t come back.

Ok place for Korean food. Their menu targets all kinds of population that like to try popular Korean dishes at one restaurant.

I wanted to try the soy marinated crab and was happy they have it on their menu at Na-Re Korean Kitchen. It s a small restaurant with a few tables so reservations are recommended! Service is friendly and attentive. A great menu to share with friends. We ordered the crab, rice cake with cheese ramen, fried chicken, beef Bulgogi which includes rice and soup. It was a good amount of food for 3 people and we were able to finish the food during our seating. Loved the crab, it was sweet tasting and the texture was melt in your mouth sashimi. The fried chicken was delicious with a light batter and enjoyed the choice of 2 flavours. If you like spicy, the cheese ramen with rice cake kicks it up a notch and is worthy of a try!

Small restaurant outside the hustle and bustle of the city. Ample street parking. Staff are super great and friendly. Come for a leisure meal as food may take a little longer. Everything we ordered was really tasty! (except we found the cheese tteokboki underwhelming)

I cant say enough about this place. Working next door was a treat and it feels a little nice to say I used to go to this place all the time. I really started to fall in love with Korean food here when they first opened and have since been delving into cooking Korean cuisine at home which is new to me. Na-re is a place where the owner and chef comes out and says hello to the guests. That sentiment truly reflects best in the food that comes out and I cant wait to see where this place goes. If youre like me and you can eat anything, the spicy octopus bowl is terrific. Cant go wrong with the bulgolgi. Try everything! Gochujang, if you dont know what this is and you love hot sauce, you will go crazy over this. Just ask the servers for a side dish of this sweet and spicy hot sauce to go along with your appetizers which are also outstanding.

This place was the best. So delicious, very generous portions and the server was attentive and kind. Will be back for sure.

If youre looking for an authentic experience you cannot miss this. Fried chicken is amazingly different and good. The cheese items could use a bit more flavor such as the sweet corn cheese

Its been a while since I was craving Korean food, so I stopped by, and it was as delicious as I heard. The portions were generous and the staff were very friendly. The food plating was presented so beautifully that it was a delight for both the eyes and the mouth. I am 100% willing to visit again! Highly recommended again!

The portion was big and the food was delicious, which felt like home-cooked meal in Korea. The service was nice. Was greeted by the owner, who was also a chef. Better than one of those restos on Kingsway in terms of value.

Went through a 40min drive just to go back there again. We ordered take out last time and it was just as good if not better eating in restaurant this time. Had their cold noodles and the flavor was very unique

Went at 7 pm on a Wednesday. Place is small with only a couple of tables so it filled up fast. Service was incredibly friendly and efficient, even though there was only one waiter. I got the OG and sweet & spicy fried chicken and it was definitely the best KFC Ive had. The soups are also full of flavor and they dont skimp on the toppings (portions are a bit small though). A bit expensive but well worth the price IMO.

This little restaurant is easy to miss on the strip of edmonds, but if you have a chance or would love so amazing Korean food definitely check Na-Re out! I ve tried to come many times in the summer, but the wait was always over an hour long, but luckily now in the winter things have calmed down and I finally got to try out this place. My whole experience was great from the cleanest of the restaurant to the service and of course the food. The staff was nice and constantly checking up on us. We got our food quickly and piping hot. My favourite dish was the the soy tteokbokki which mimicked flavours of a japchae. The rice cakes were cooked so well compared to other places I ve been too. I also loved the Korean fried chicken. Super crispy and juicy. I will definitely come back and try more on there menu.

Bulgogi was average and much too pricey for what was received. Ordered to go and expected a soup, rice and the bulgogi along with the radish kimchi. Did not receive the soup and the kimchi side was very small. When I called the restaurant they mentioned they no longer provide the soup for to go orders as they have had reports of it spilling, and that they only provide it for eat in orders. They should change the menu to reflect what will actually be provided so there s no surprises and amend the prices.
