We come here every few months for family dinner. Food is consistently good! We love the focaccia and the caserecce pasta.

Great Neapolitan pizza good taste and fast service

The pasta was great, but the pizza was a a little disappointing, small portions for high prices and it was not that great.

2nd time here and amazing food and service both times

First time here. Carbonara was just ok, Ive had better, but the gnocchi with braised beef was the best weve had. Definitely be back to try more.

I ordered the amalfi pizza, and let me just say, I definitely tasted the salt from the coast as well, the pizza was so heavily salted I couldn t even finish it, I had to drench it in chilli oil to even attempt to eat it, I would definitely recommend eating at another restaurant for pizza.

Very disappointing. Pizza lacking filling, ordered marguerita, it came with 3 basil leaves, I couldnt even taste the marguerita pizza flavour. I dont like mushrooms, I asked if I could sub for artichokes, they removed the mushrooms and charged me for 2 peaces of artichokes. A bad joke and SO cheap service. Ordered a extra cheap napkin, and it never came, I had to steal from other table. Ridiculous servent, she couldnt hear, and screamed back what???? Very rude. This restaurant is so far from being Italian. No olive oil in the tables, no cheese in the tables, you have to ask for....my goodness, what a waste of money.

The whole restaurant is really loud, can t even hear what the people saying while seating next to me. The pizza is okay, but the pasta wasn t that great. Service is okay, not bad. Overall I think the price is too high for the food and vibe you would expected to get from there.

We stopped in one Thursday after an evening walk. We entered at about 8:05 pm. The person who met us at the door abruptly told us that the place would close at 9 pm, and asked if that was enough time, which it was as we wanted a glass of wine and a snack. We were seated and within 5 min, ordered our wine and a pizza to share. Five minutes later our wine arrived, and 30 seconds after that our pizza arrived! Extremely quick service, how do they do it? I would expect a pizza to take 15-20 min to arrive if freshly made. The pizza tasted okay, but it was obvious the dough, tomato sauce and mozzarella had been pre-cooked and was waiting for someone to order it and they just added a couple of toppings and put it in the oven again. It was warm when it arrived, but cooled quickly. The restaurant itself was extremely noisy and there were only two other tables with four people at each. The service was quick, but the one server who greeted us never cracked a smile, although there was another young lady who was very nice. No, will not recommend, nor visit again.

Used to be good quality and fair sized pizzas. Quality is still there but $22 for half the size it used to be is a bit of a joke.

This place is top notch incredible Italian wood fired pizza

Traditionally, this has been one of my favourite Italian restaurants in this neighborhood. The pasta is delicious when it comes out hot and the pizza is decent. Service is standard and the restaurant is clean but dim. They don t have abundant seating so it s intimate that way. But I m giving them two stars because they ve become too slow. My recent meal there took well over an hour for the courses to come out. My table wasn t the exception as I looked around. By observing their kitchen counter it was clear: there were a lot of takeout orders being prioritized. It s just disappointing to see that takeout orders are prioritized over the in-house experience. I likely won t return for dining-in because they ve become Sopra Slo-mo, would opt for takeout instead if I feel like ordering pasta and pizza from them one of these days.

Absolutely amazing service and the food was delicious ! I am still thinking about the pasta dish we had.

Extremely loud; impossible to hold a conversation. Food was OK, but far from worth the price. Focaccia bread was just un-sauced pizza dough baked and cut into wedges and served on a plate. Mushroom pasta was actually pretty good, but to call that a truffle sauce is misleading as I tasted lots of mushroom, zero truffle. Pizza was just OK; a bit better than domino s. There are just too many good pizzerias in the lower mainland for this to stand out, despite the nice oven. When we saw the glass of tiramisu delivered to another table, we called it and went somewhere else for dessert. Sorry, won t go back, can t recommend.

Many different types of pizza and pasta to order. The food was great but if you go at a busy time make sure to have a reservation.

Ordered two pasta meals (each about 27$). Both were bland with almost no parmesan (like a salt sprinkle) and about a buffet average taste, everyone who is reading this please cook at home and dont burn 80$ for this Sorry, but for traditional Italian restaurant what a shame!!!! This is not Italian food!

Date of dining: Monday, March 11, 2024, 6pm: The music when I walked in was a bit of a turn off. It was a hectic trance song that made it a bit hard to settle down. The food is incredible. Absolutely no complaints and I will come back for sure. The service was not good. She was a young brunette woman. She knew the basics of what to do, but it was how she did it that was irritating. I joined my dad for dinner and her service was slow and when she did pay attention to me, she asked me as if we already had a conversation that I didn t need much but I was hungry and ready to order way ahead of when she approached. She didn t stop directly at the table. She took my order while standing almost behind me so I had to turn my body to her. It seemed like every time we spoke, it was her walking past not ready to actually stop to speak to me. Her speaking manner was rude like I had to rush to get it out because she was anticipating when I would be done so she could walk away. I felt panicked that if she walked away we wouldn t catch her again for another ten minutes so I was worried she wouldn t take my full order. Our plates weren t cleared between the starter and main so we sat with empty plates for about 10 minutes.

I enjoy the original location but this pizza was mediocre. Poor sauce cheese ratio dough was a little under done in places

Cozy little Italian restaurant. Has good pasta and pizza to choose from! Main selling point is the atmosphere, it s very cozy - kind of feeling like eating at home. Would recommend for small groups for casual dining

Our server was terrible & the other servers were rude. We found 2 long hairs in our food and they implied it was our own as no one at the restaurant had blonde hair even tho the hair was inside and wrapped around the burrata. Terrible terrible experience i d go anywhere else, mediocre at best.

Vegetarian options: Variety of pastas and pizzas Food

Small establishment that is always full any day, any time. Hard to get a table if you are thinking last minute, hit and miss with walk in. Pastas and pizzas always delicious. Can tell the quality ingredients and skilled preparation. Sunday Sugo Gnocchi and mushroom pasta (sooo rich but so delicious) are my faves. Four stars just based on difficulty of securing seat but thats the price to pay for such delightful food.

We came for lunch and it was delicious beyond on our expectations. We got meatballs, gnocchi and the Bolognese. Will be returning!

We shared a salad, pizza and pasta, all were very tasty. The Tuscan salad is exceptional. The waitress was friendly and efficient. Because of the brick wall, the restaurant is quite noisy. So be prepared to talk louder than normal to be heard by your companions.

Pizza worthy of being called such. Excellent dough and ingredients. Peroni beer, real espresso coffee and they also have grappa. I havent had the chance to try the pasta but if I can, I will go back.

Overworks all of their employees to little or no further gain. Employs people of Italian ethnic descent who refuse to use any hygiene products. Drinks should be complimentary if dealing with said person.

First time to this lovely little Italian place in North Burnaby. Food was delicious and the pizza with four cheese and spicy salami was simply outstanding. Professional service, very friendly without overbearing. Highly recommend this place great value for the food.

Solid real Italian pizza and pastas

The Caserecce e Tartufo may be the best pasta Ive ever had. Very strong truffle flavour and they use a variety of mushrooms that provide different textures. We also got an eggplant tomato-based pasta but nothing comes close to the truffle mushroom pasta. Price is also very good for the amount and quality!

Had the Salsicitta pizza, the homemade foccicia bread and the Caserecce e Tartufo. For a place that has such high reviews, I expected more. I have had woodfired italian pizza before, but I have never seen a pizza either so paper thin that it couldnt even be rigid, or so oily that the entire bottom crust wasnt even dry (which may have caused the lack of rigidity to begin with). The foccicia bread is not real foccicia bread. Traditionally it is a flat leavened bread that is roughly a few inches high. What I got was a flat bread, literally flat, that was super dry with a ton of dried herbs on it. Wasnt good at all. The good part was the mushroom pasta, which was delicious and I loved the quality of the pasta itself... unfortunate for my family, it was so heavily seasoned despite being delicious, our stomachs couldnt handle how rich it was. (Probably our problem). The quality of the ingredients were indeed good, but I dont feel it was a good value for what we got. Disappointed.

Very disappointed. The margarita took 45 min to cook, then the rest of the food took another 25 min. The blond server didn t greet us when we came in. We had to call another server over to take our order. No sorry for the wait. When we paid, the server didn t even say thank you. Restaurant is tiny. Service should be really good if that many people are there. Food was fine, but for the amount of seats they have, the server and manager shouldn t be that scrambled. Won t go again.

Cozy and modern restaurant with friendly staff. The calamari and prawns were lightly battered and the right crispness. Overall the food was flavourful and super filling.

After an hour of waiting they closed our delivery order. Very unprofessional. Wont be back.

Carbonara pasta was very salty, we told the waitress about it, she told us that it was normal because of the cheese and the guanciale. We asked if they could prepare another one with less salt because it was extremely salty and he told us that if he gave us another one it would be the same so we decided to ask for the bill and even though we didnt eat the pasta they still charged us for it, apparently they gave us a $2.2 discount for not enjoying the pasta. Very bad customer service.

Excellent service, the two waitstaff/hostesses tonight were working so hard to keep everyone happy. Focaccia was confusing as it seemed like a pizza dough crust Best tiramisu in town. We watched the pizzaiolo make us the perfect Margherita pizza , wood fired for 1.5 minutes to perfection. A balanced san Marzano tomato sauce that didn t give me a stomach ache, gooey cheese, and a crust that held it altogether. We re already planning our next pizza night!

The truffle pasta was a bit too al dente for my taste, could have been cooked a little longer. The carbonara was alright, but a bit too clumpy with the cheese (which tasted/reminded me of Kraft dinner cheese... which is not something I want when I am fine dining.) I would have appreciated a little more black pepper and pancetta. Quantity of calamari and prawns was good, but I would have preferred crispier coating.

So so so good! The tartufo, the focaccia m, the diavola pizza! Those were our favs. We went for my wife s bday and were loving every bite of every thing we tried. Highly recommend. Great service, stylish in every respect: from plating, to decor, to the lovely staff themselves.

Small, pleasant place, very delicious food, very good service. Without a doubt I will go again.

Unpleasant dining experience. Terrible acoustics inside this restaurant resulting in a highly noisy environment. Service was ok. Food quality and taste left much to be desired! 2 pastas were served cooler than lukewarm, overdone and dry. And go figure.. each pasta plate was served with a tiny spoon the size of a teaspoon! As if they ran out of proper serving spoons. How unprofessional is that? Only positive was the server offered and we accepted a complimentary pizza.

Tonight it was our 2nd visit to thus restaurant. The vegetariana pizza was nice, and my wife enjoyed it. The best pizza weve had in Vancouver is still Via Tevere, but Sopra Sota is respectable. The gnocchi with beef short rib was not so impressive. It barely had any tomato sauce, and was dry, and not enough parmesan cheese. I envisioned a nice scoop of flavorful house made tomato sauce over tge top, but no such luck. Service was not great either as our server didnt even ask us how our meals were. Nice space, but WAY too loud as others have pointed out. The room needs some sound insulation treatment. Vegetarian options: Pizza, Salads, and pasta options

My first time at Sopra Sotto and will be coming back. Really enjoyed their pizza. The prosciutto, arugula and cherry tomatoes pizza and Margherita pizza reminded me of my time in Italy. The pastas were good too, I just enjoyed the pizza more.

Pasta cooked perfect el dente. Order Pasta with mushrooms and truffle cream sauce. Flavour success!! First time to try. Ordered for take out. Excellent pasta texture. Only thing is price vs volume received could be better. Homemade pasta doesn t cost tons to make. I would hoped that the takeaway box would be fuller. Gluten free option is an extra $15

Had gnocci and a Peroni on a warm summer evening, delicious.

Great little Italian place.

I went to pick up meal on a not so busy night. Wait staff saw me waiting but refused to acknowledge me and was chatting with each other instead. I understand that they may be busy with other things, but a simple hello or some form of greeting would have sufficed. Food is good but not good enough for the treatment I got. Will never come back.

Its unfortunate that this restaurant deserves a one star if not less because the food is relatively good. However, the service is abysmal--not welcoming/friendly, customers are left waiting for a long time while their take out order is left sitting out cold and the wait staff are clearly talking about non-work related things. Highly unprofessional. Reading previous reviews for this particular location have reported similar issues of having to wait for some time without a form of a greeting or an apology for having paying customers wait. Ive reached out to the restaurant via two avenues and have yet to receive a response. You would think in this inflation where a lot of people are really feeling the stress/pressure, you would want to work harder and be more conscientious in order to retain loyal customers.

The food was amazing, and the customer service from Stefan made the night even better. We will definitely be returning.

Entered the restaurant to screeches and screams of rowdy customers who clearly had 1 to many. It was so loud I couldn t even talk to my girlfriend who was across from me. We were left at the door whilst they cleaned up we then watched nothing get done for 5 minutes then we re reluctantly seated. We were then left with no menu for a few minutes and weren t told a thing. So I decided to go and grab 2 menus from the front which in itself is pathetic. We then had to shout from 4 feet away from eachother what we d like to eat. We then sat and waited until the noise became Unbearable and we happily left. Tried a few places on this same strip in and can safely say this is the worst possible restaurant. I d go next door to the burger joint or Chad Thai. And tonight we decided to go to another Italian that was very authentic and delicious with alot more choice. I d recommend L Artista

I was really excited to try this restaurant, however this excitement soon faded as soon as I walked through the door. As we entered we were greeted by a screech of what sounded like a pack of hyenas to my surprise it wasnt. We then were told to wait whilst they got the table ready which is expected when going to a restaurant. We were then seated in which we werent given any menus or told what to do as to whether we needed to go up and order or they would come to us, after waiting we decided to go to the front and get the menus ourselves. Me and my partner tried to ask each-other what we were going to get however, I could barely hear him due to the hyenas in the back. This screech quickly became unbearable which we then made the decision to leave and go to another place to eat. I have to say I wont be returning here.

Delicious original Italian cuisine!

This place was so bad.. food was mediocre and the service was THE WORST. We came into the restaurant and was told that they didn t have a seat for 2 people and the place was empty. Then they reluctantly sat us down and took forever to take our order. Once we were done our meal the waitress was rude because we rejected dessert. Avoid at all cost.

I came here for my birthday with my partner and the first thing Ive noticed is was so loud in there that I was wondering how well be able to have conversations. And then we were seated and I would say that the lady server that was assigned to us looked like she didnt want to be there.... No smile, no recommendation just bland service even if we started by ordering a bottle of wine. That os a pretty good Q that well spend a part of the night there and if your service is over expectations, youll get tipped for. But unfortunately thats not what happened. Everybody that came after us received their food before. We wanted to share pur pizza and pasta like the other table were doing but we had time to eat our pasta way before the pizza was served. And we were pressured to take the bill when barely half of the bottle was empty. She was way to much on her phone that she sent Angel to make us pay. Honestly, I am glad that i expressed my concern to him because he apologized and make up with a tiramisu. That was not much but enough forme to put a smile on my face because for a while I was really displeased

Worst experience and disappointing pizza. Very sad topping and no flavor with no sauce. (So different from their pictures.) Also online it says cherry tomato on the menu, but there were no tomato on it. Not recommended for the price of pizza $25

We went to Soora Sotto due to the high ratings. Well . They are richly deserved!! Amazing and I mean AMAZING PIZZA!!!!! Even the gluten free pizza was stellar. Awesome Caesar Salad as well. Beautifully finished interior. Very clean and modern. Spectacular wood fired oven. We had quite a wait for our meal but it was worth it. All the tables were full and very busy with take out and delivery as well. The Chef did apologize when I complimented him on his fare. The only glitch and the reason for the 4 star . We ordered GF pizza and I was almost finished my first piece when the waitress showed up apologizing as they had provided a regular crust one. They quickly replaced it but the damage was done for me. That being said my spouse does not have the same issue and happily consumed the regular crust one which was provided at no cost. Busy and quite loud as EVERYONE was having a blast and enjoying their magnificent cocktails and fare. Certainly going back for more. THE BEST PIZZA WE HAVE HAD OUTSIDE OF ITALY!!! Got the ragu and carbonara both was extremely dry not barely any sauce or meat. So the past was extremely Blane. Over it just Felt like I paid for overpriced plain pasta. Will not be ordering again.

We ordered through Doordash and upon arrival our salad wasn t there. I called the restaurant and they said they forgot to put it in the bag. They offered a free pizza if we picked up-but I could not pick up (thats why I ordered delivery). The lady I spoke to said she would e-transfer me for the salad. I got $15 deposited. The salad costs $15 so we paid the tax (not to mention doordasher tip and fee) for salad we didnt get. I get that I chose to tip-but pretty poor that they went from offering us a free pizza to us paying the tax on a dish we didnt receive.

Great food

A good entry in the Neapolitan pizza scene in Vancouver, but their commercial drive location is much nicer and seems to be of higher quality. The pizzas are great and the ingredients are fresh. I also had a tiramisu, which was confusingly one of the worst tiramisu s i ve ever had it tasted like one of those asian cafe takeout tiramisus. It was like eating whipped cream. Never trust a cup tiramisu!

Okay experience. Okay food. Other better places to get authentic Italian food in Vancouver.

I reserved a large table on a Monday afternoon for my softball team, originally at the Commercial Drive location, but we got moved to the North Burnaby one instead and Im glad we did. It was perfect. Our server took great care of the group and the rest of the staff was also checking in on us from time to time. Drinks, food, everything was on point. I was tempted to offer our server a job with my company. she was great. The team already wants to go back again. Grazie Mille

Food was good. The service was awful though. As someone that works in hospitality, I wouldn t come back just for the lack of care by the serving staff. Had to wave down a server for more water, extra napkins etc. we had empty cocktail glasses at our table the entire visit and not once did our server ask if we wanted another round? We had an appetizer and entree. Not once we re we asked if we enjoyed our food. Waited for quite some time to have our table cleared off as we had multiple plates. The tables are quite small so that is a bit frustrating to. Just overall poor serving service here. Wouldn t return unfortunately.

Unfortunately, my wife and I had a bad experience tonight. After being seated, we informed the server that we needed a few minutes before placing our order. However, after a while, she didn t return, and we began to wonder if she had forgotten about us. She was busy making some drinks and seemed to have completely forgotten our presence. Another server eventually came over, and we indicated that we were ready to order. However, she left without passing on our request to the other server, leaving us waiting once again. After waiting for 25 minutes without anyone taking our order, we decided to leave. The restaurant was not full, with many empty tables. I can t help but imagine how worse it would have been if the place had been crowded.

I have been looking for a place that has oven baked Calzone, I found Sopra Sotto and decided to give it a try. Oh my oh my, from the cocktail to the dessert, it was absolutely amazing. The olives were unbelievebly tasty, the kale salad was espectacular and the Calzone just perfect. The service was outstanding and I wil defitely go back to try the pizzas. Thank you for such a great experience!

Overall a good experience, service was average (considering we had a reservation and they should have been expecting us). Food was flavorful but value-wise Id say theres better in town.

I love Sopra Sotto as my regular restaurant and when I heard about it opening up in my neighborhood I had to go visit it! When coming here, I knew it was specialized in Pizza in this branch since they are called it a Pizzeria, so I had to order a pizza as a dish and a pasta dish because it is Sopra Sotto. I arrived with my boyfriend for a party of two and the place was already packed on a weekend night. We asked how long was the wait, and the hostess said it was 25 minutes, we said okay and put our names down. We walked over to the dollar store for a quick shopping trip. We waited for another 30 minutes after being in the dollar store for some time wasting.... It was a long wait. I got extremely hungry. When we were seated, the waitress was extremely nice to us, but I felt like she was overly busy. It felt like the place was understaffed, because I felt the chaos a bit from time to time. The amount of fast moving around the restaurant really triggered me a bit, but it could just because it was small? idk, i just wanted to bring it up in case.... just a small feedback. The restaurant kept the iconic bird wallpaper that I loved so much from the Commercial store and the you can kinda feel the oven when walking past it to the washroom. I love the whole oven open concept~! It is pretty nice. My bf and I were planning to share a pizza and a pasta for the night. We saw the special pasta, it was the shrimp & prawn in a tomato butter sauce. It was delicious. And then the pizza we ordered was the Porchetta e Friarielli and it was extremely delicious. I felt that the pasta was missing a huge component, the waitress didnt offer any Parmesan and I felt it was missing a huge cheese component, and then the pizza was perfectly toasted!! Loved the pizza. Pasta was 6/10 and the pizza was a 10/10. Will only come back for the pizza with friends, pasta, I will go back to the commercial location for it. Overall I loved the place. we ordered a Capricciosa Pizza which is pretty good. Its a Margherita pizza but with meat. Also a Rucola e Prosciutto Pizza which is authentic but I dont like the taste very much. We also ordered a Caesar Salad which is a fresh regular Caesar salad. I wish I ordered the chilly oil $1. I ordered to go so the pizza is not warm any more. I will definitely try dine in next after the pandemic .

Really delicious food and nice wine list! Had their mushroom pizza special and it was one of the best vegetarian pizzas I ve ever had the aesthetic of the restaurant was great too from the dimmed lights and dark green accents all over the place.

I have a picky one year old who has refused to even try every single pizza we offered her, until this one. She loves it and couldnt get enough.

Food and staff are really good. The only one star deduction is the restaurant does get really loud when it is busy - My friends and I had to almost scream to talk to each other. So if one table screams to chat, the other table needs to scream louder to talk to their friends

I cannot get enough of their truffle pasta and their pizzas! The food always hits the sweet spot. A great place for all occasions.

We had vip seats beside the pizza prep area. Our server was bright and welcoming. We were impressed how she explained the specials of the day in detail to us. Food was delicious ! We ordered 2 of the appetizers and 4 mains for the 6 of us. Just enough to satisfy our hungers. We weren t picky with the limited wine menu but it covered the common drinks. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner.

This place is a real gem, great food and wonderful staff. Had my wifes 40th Birthday recently and have celebrated my birthday as well in the past, just a great all around experience as you get to try a variety of foods. The pizza is fantastic and the pastas are rich in flavour.

Went there for my daughters birthday and the food did not disappoint. I ordered The Tartufo pasta and my husband had the Calzone. Both were amazing! The pasta had so much flavour, I couldnt stop eating it and the Calzone was filled with a lot of stuffing and very tasty. The other meals were very good as well. Definitely will go back!!

Hey, I would like to start off by saying the staff was amazing I like to come during the week ! The calamari is amazing and of course my go to is Margarita Pizza. The two lovely ladies taking care of my table Cassandra and Alessia I try and come on there night when they work . The atmosphere when they serve is wicked and the vibe is very well also I love how they are Italian and can recommend me good dishes off of the menu the wine list is great as well . I also have gotten take out a couple times and to go is amazing as well ! Eric makes amazing pizza ask for him ! Thanks

Great Service!!! I ordered two pizzas for takeout: Margherita and Diavola. I picked it up and drove home to West Van, when I got home and opened the pizza boxes, it was 2 Margherita pizzas. I called them up and told them what had happened and the owner or manager drove all the way from their Burnaby location to my home in West Van to drop off the Diavola pizza. Now that is going above and beyond to make sure your customers are happy! Very impressed! The Pizzas were great as well, my only compliant is that there wasnt enough tomato sauce, I would rate the pizza an 8/10. Ill definitely be going back! :)

Spent over a week in the Burnaby/Vancouver area, and I dined here on my final night before leaving. I wish that Id taken photos, but the diavalo pizza was too delicious. The staff were extremely friendly, and the environment is very clean. Ill definitely be back the next time that Im in the area.

So, I originally reviewed this place in 2019 And it was amazing. We had the margarita pizza and it honestly was the most authentic Neapolitan pizza we have ever had in Canada. Fast forward to today, we made a reservation beginning of the week and mentioned it was our wedding anniversary. Not that we were expecting anything free, but a simple happy anniversary would have gone a long way. But no one acknowledged it. First the Focaccia, was nowhere near what a real authentic Focaccia is. It was basically just a smaller pizza ( a bit burnt) and topped with herbs. My husband ordered the Diavola (2.5/5) I had the Rucola e Prosciutto (2.5/5) We finished with a tiramisu (2/5) Maybe we just walked in with expectations that were too high, but our experience was very underwhelming this time around. Ingredients just seemed not the same quality as they used to be, the tiramisu and my pizza were dry, and just not hitting the spot. I m so sad, because I was really looking forward to an amazing dinner, when in reality it was meh Service was good though, just wish they would have taken the time to read the notes and acknowledge our special day.

Cozy and comfortable atmosphere with delicious food. Would highly recommend a reservation though, it gets busy fast.

A gem of a place in North Burnaby. Food was delicious and the service was attentive but not over bearing. We had the mushroom truffle pasta and one of the pizzas. I loved the spicy oil they had there. Definitely will go again. Small place so reservations recommended bit worth it!

Fresh pasta made in house. Highly recommend the mushroom pasta with pancetta add on, the flavour is amazing and cooked perfectly al dente. The tiramisu is also really good. The price is on the higher side but the food quality and service is definitely worth it.

Wouldnt recommend coming here for a date night. It was extremely loud to the point where we struggled to have conversations. Service was at par at best and food wasnt seasoned what so ever. Portion for the Gnocchi which was more expensive than the rest of the pasta, was significantly smaller and lacked lots of flavor and seasoning. The pizza was nothing special, lacked seasoning once again, and toppings were just plopped in the middle. For $50, you can definitely find better

I ve come here a few times before and the food was amazing, but two weeks ago was fairly disappointing because the food quality changed and seemed underwhelming this time. I ordered the burrata special - it was made with an Italian donut wrapped with prosciutto with the cheese on the side. This was the best dish we had this dinner. I usually order the carbonara and it used to come in the thicker pasta noodle, kinda like the bugoli square shape, but they switched spaghetti noodles instead on the menu and it was not creamy at all. None of the pasta noodles had any carbonara sauce and the bacon was really dry and burnt. We also had the tagliatelle Al ragu and the noodles were dry and undercooked. There wasn t much taste or seasoning to this besides it being tangy and tart with a dash of cheese and some crumbles of meat.

Were visited both the Vancouver and Burnaby locations now and I can promise you that the quality of the food is the same at both. So. Yum. I am gluten-free and it can be difficult finding good gluten free Italian food, but Sopra Sotto delivers. Their truffle pasta is mind-blowing and their gluten free pizza crust doesnt taste gluten free (my husband eats all the gluten and those are his words, not mine). The Burnaby location is a smaller venue and yes can feel a little noisy, but in a everyone is happy and enjoying the experience kind of way. 100% recommend for a date night, night out with friends or for those pasta/pizza cravings! Beautiful and super nice people provide an amazing service. I have tried the Amalfi pizza and the tiramisu, both were great. Pizza dressed with anchovies are often too salty but that was not the case here. The tiramisu was authentic and 100% homemade with the best ingredients. Food

We ve ordered takeout from this location on several occasions. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Pizza was ready on time. Traditional 12 , not heavy on toppings and not soggy. We ve tried the Diavolo (not too spicy), Vegetariana, Capricciosa, (hope you like olives) and the Salsciccia (sausage more mild than spicy). All very good with nice leoparding

Antipasti - Toscana Salad ($16): The tuscan kale, farro, roasted tomagoes and shaved pecorino was pretty good and makes a fresh opening for the meal. (4/5) - Caesar Salad ($15): The romaine lettuce, fresh croutons made in house, grands cheese tossed in a creaming dressing was one of a kind. There are not many italian restaurants who serve og caesar salad. But the fresh croutons in my opinion was too crispy and hard. (4/5) - Whole Fresh Focaccia ($7): The made in house focaccia was interesting to see different part of focaccia it came from. Known as sciacchiatine croccanti. It was not my favourite focaccia but definitely interesting (4/5) Pasta - Caserecce e Tartufo ($28): The short twists of pasta made fresh in house creamy truffle sauce featuring a variety of mushrooms, parmigiano with smoked pancetta was the star dish in my opinion. It was very flavourful and sublime to the right extent. (5/5) - Tagliatelle al Ragù ($23): The long, flat pasta made fresh in house, authentic Bokognese sauce, parmigiano was good too, but it was farigna a legna did it better in my opinion. (3/5) Pizza - Nduja ($23): Mozzarella, smoked provolone, nduja, black kale, sweet corn was spicy and got up to the right taste. Very recommended to get. (4/5) - Diavola ($19.50): San marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy italian salami, grana, basil was basically margherita with the salami which was good too but the nduja was better. (4/5) Dolic - Tiramisu ($10.5): Savoiardi, espresso, mascarpone, cream, cocoa was up to di beppe and farigna a legna standard. But it doesnt beat piva and lupos tiramisu. (4/5) Nonetheless, it was great to find another authentic italian place in town which has two branch: one is at hastings and another one at commercial drive. Although the pizza was made with wood fire oven to get that napoletana pizza, the pizza needed to be stretched even more. It should have been thinner on the inner side of the pizza and more airy on the crust of the pizza. I recommend adding more yeast and salt to the dough to get that correct texture of pizza napoletana. But Sopra Sotto Pizzeria was really good to come and try. Recommended for italian food in town. What a lovely pizzeria and pasta restaurant! I highly recommend their Caserecce e Tartufo and add the smoked pancetta sooooo delicious! I do feel like the pasta could have been a little softer, but I think it s just my personal preference. The Caesar salad was good and the Nduja pizza was something we never tried before :) we will definitely be back to try their other pizzas and pasta!! This tops my most favourite pasta restaurants I ve ever been to!! Highly recommended.

The taste of the food has a rich flavor. The service is not bad, but it takes more than 15 minutes for drinks to come out. The atmosphere is a bit noisy and the phone keeps ringing. No one answers the phone!

Food was pretty good. Thin pizza that oner person can finish easily. Service was mediocre and people were quite loud. Vibrant place for friendly get together.

4 stars for the service and atmosphere. Small little place for dinning with a party of 1 to 4. Beer selection is extremely limited. As for the food, instead of rating that, I will explain how the food is and let you decide when you try it. Prawns and calamari was not fresh, it was soft. Pizza toppings fell off and the crust was soft and a bit soggy too.

So before talking about the food, the environment looks cozy, warm and friendly! (even the washrooms are as clean as your owns;) ) The only issue was having 1 server for 7 tables which makes sense for Monday night! But Alessia was perfectly good at handling everyone and I do appreciate her! From the time you put your feets in the restaurant you can smell the perfect scent of well baked pizza bread! The food quality.. pls try it! I can have no words for the good quality except that you should try it! Pizzas and pastas both are good!!
