We had previously visited the Langley Atlas Steak + Fish and had a fantastic experience, so we were excited to try the Burnaby location while in the area. Unfortunately, our visit on November 30th for my wife's birthday fell short of expectations. We had a reservation for an early dinner at 4:00 PM and arrived slightly early at 3:30 PM, hoping to be seated. The hostess, however, was engrossed in her iPad and did not acknowledge us for several minutes. When she finally did, she avoided eye contact and told us we could wait in the bar or until 4:00 PM to be seated in the dining area. We mentioned that we were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and opted to wait for our reservation time. At 4:00 PM, we returned to check in and were once again ignored as the hostess continued tapping on her iPad. Eventually, she grabbed some menus and informed us that only the Happy Hour menu was available until 5:00 PM—a detail not mentioned anywhere on the website. In most restaurants, Happy Hour offers additional, cheaper options alongside the main menu, so we were surprised and disappointed to learn that we couldn't order from the full dinner menu until 5:00 PM. I shared our concerns, explaining that this wasn’t what we expected for a birthday dinner, but the hostess reiterated that our only option was to wait. Once seated, our server greeted us, and we expressed our frustration. He agreed that the website wasn't clear and implied it wasn't the first time he'd received similar feedback. To his credit, he allowed us to order appetizers from the main menu but confirmed we'd still have to wait until 5:00 PM for entrees. This inconsistency—exceptions for appetizers but not main dishes—further dampened the evening. At this point, we considered leaving but decided to stay, knowing our dinner would take longer than expected. After finishing our appetizers, the server returned to let us place our entree orders so they could arrive shortly after 5:00 PM. We ordered the lobster risotto, truffle tenderloin, and a side of brussel sprouts. While the food was delicious and well-prepared, the overall service left much to be desired. It was acceptable but lacked warmth, and despite multiple mentions that we were celebrating a birthday, there was no effort to make the occasion feel special. We did receive a complimentary dessert, which was a nice gesture, but it came with "Happy Anniversary" written on it instead of "Happy Birthday." Given that our reservation noted the birthday celebration, and both the hostess and server were aware, this oversight felt careless. We didn't have the heart to correct it, so we simply ended our evening. While the food lived up to Atlas's standards, the lack of clarity, underwhelming service, and missed opportunities to make the occasion feel special ultimately overshadowed our experience. We had high hopes for the Burnaby location, but unfortunately, it did not meet the expectations set by the Langley restaurant. I don't expect we will visit this location again and would recommend the Langley location of Atlas Steak + Fish.

Located next to the Grand Villa Casino, there is a giant screen that welcomes you to the restaurant. There is a bar seating area with TV, the main dining room, an open kitchen where you can see the chefs in action, and if booked a portion of the restaurant can be used for private dining parties. There are different table side food items that they will finish/prepare in front of you if ordered. I would say it's a nice place for a special dinner.

What a wonderful place to have Christmas Dinner! Everything was perfect, from the outstanding service Richard gave us to the tasty drinks and food. The only issue was that our section experienced inconsistent temperatures.

I look forward to celebrating my birthday at Atlas yearly because the service and food have always been exceptional. Unfortunately, this year was disappointing. From the start, our waitress seemed uninterested—there was no friendly introduction or small talk, which made us feel neither welcome nor acknowledged. She took our orders with minimal engagement and later returned, forgetting which side dish I had chosen. Her demeanour lacked warmth and genuine care; she only checked in with two brief, impersonal questions, "Is everything good?" before quickly walking away. To add to the experience, I ordered a medium-rare tomahawk steak but received it rare. While the food had potential, the inattentive service from our waitress overshadowed what could have been a memorable meal. This year’s birthday experience was particularly disappointing compared to previous ones. For the last three birthdays, whether I celebrated with a group or just my wife, the servers would always surprise me with a complimentary dessert. They either knew about it through the reservation or took the time to inquire. I had no expectations this time, as it was clear from the beginning that the waitress didn’t care. It’s disheartening to see such a difference in service on what should have been a memorable night. After our disappointing meal, we only wanted the bill and a takeout box since we had a lot of food left. However, the waitress only brought one box, which was another oversight. By that point, we were eager to go. We ended up stuffing it all in one box, and we were done in an hour from getting there and leaving because the lacklustre service made the experience far from enjoyable.

Atlas Steak & Fish is a true treat for steak lovers! I tried the New York Striploin Steak, and it was absolutely perfect – juicy, tender, and grilled to perfection with a rich, smoky flavor that really brings out the quality of the meat. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it had that beautiful, slightly charred crust on the outside. The Lamb Chops Steak was equally impressive. They were cooked just right, tender and full of that classic, savory lamb taste with a touch of seasoning that elevated the natural flavors without overpowering them. It’s clear the chefs know how to handle high-quality cuts of meat. If you’re craving an outstanding steak experience, Atlas Steak & Fish House won’t disappoint!

The restaurant has a great ambiance, and the food is quite good. The steak was cooked well, though unfortunately, I got an edge piece that was overly salty. Since I was a guest, it didn’t feel appropriate to make a fuss or mention it to the server. Speaking of the service, it wasn’t the most professional. The server’s attitude felt indifferent. While my friend and I were in the middle of a conversation, she could have chosen to serve from the other side but instead served between us, completely interrupting our discussion. I think I saw her photo mentioned in Google reviews with comments about her service quality. In the dim lighting, be sure to check the bill carefully, especially for groups of six or more, as they add an 18% gratuity automatically. My friend didn’t notice this and ended up tipping an additional 18% on top, and the server didn’t mention it. This restaurant is located within a casino hotel, so while it’s convenient for guests and casino visitors, it might not be the top choice if you’re specifically after an outstanding steak.

Haven’t been here since before the pandemic. Food is still as good as I remember it. The piano player playing this night was solid. September 1st The server that served us though didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. Very emotionless throughout the night. I get more engagement at a quick service restaurant than I did from her…. Otherwise the night would have been amazing. It seemed like it was just her too cause other servers serving other tables seemed better

Im updating my rating based on my most recent experience. After a fantastic birthday celebration, I was excited to return for another dinner. While the food was still good, the service was disappointing. Our server, Sarah, made us feel as though she couldnt wait for us to leave. Her attitude was unwelcoming, and she gave us a condescending, almost judgmental look from head to toe, which was off-putting. Unfortunately, this negatively impacted our overall experience, and I m now uncertain whether I ll return. Original 5 star review: We celebrated my birthday yesterday, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, the fresh oysters were exceptional, and the service was outstanding. Our server, Fitz, was particularly fabulous. I highly recommend it!

I went here for the first time for my anniversary. You can tell this is a quality restaurant by the upscale vibe, the great service, and the taste and visual appeal of the food. The chicken breast with mashed potatoes was a highlight. It was the best chicken Ive ever had at a restaurant. They also brought us a free dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. I highly recommend this restaurant for your next special occasion

UPDATE - Exceptional service provided by Leah! Happy hour cocktails were delicious. All food served was tasty and tomahawk pork chop was cooked to perfection. The baked alaska was a new refreshing twist on the classic recipe. Will definitely return! ---------------------------------------------------- Service always awesome. Food quality is inconsistent. Ambience is decent but noisy when restaurant is at capacity. Little touches like complimentary special occasion dessert are at the discretion of your server.

It was the only place close to my house that sold oysters, so I often went there in the evening or during happy hour, and the happy hour oyster was so... It was thin. In the past, there were western oysters at happy hour, but now theyre all in PEI.. Of course, the other menu items are delicious, but the oyster was a bit disappointing, so I only give the food 3 stars.

My family had a wonderful time. We chose not to do our personal dishes rather a bunch of mini snacks this evening. A few dishes my husband and younger cousin were not fond of the ingredients. After I spoke to our server Richard, he and the kitchen was able to whip us dishes with classic flavours. Which they truly appreciated. Due to Richard s approach of offering and catering to my families needs, they felt heard and valued. They continued to order a few more things off the menu and the evening was exceptional. To dine at a fine restaurant we have no issues with the cost, especially when the manager and our server provided us with valued service it made me confident to return again. I ve been going there from time to time, but to bring my family meant the world as they truly allowed them to feel comfortable. The pianist for this evening played wonderful tunes that resonated with my husband and my uncle. We thoroughly enjoyed his lists of songs, it brought back nostalgia for all of us. I do look forward to hearing him again.

October 21, 2024

Inattentive server for the level of dining the restaurant seems to offer. 2 star food for 5 star pricing. Steak was flavourless for a 6 oz $55 tenderloin. Mac & cheese had so much panko on it making it unenjoyable. Would not recommend as fine dining. Gordon Ramsay would have exploded. As we were leaving the kitchen burned what ever they were cooking and we walked through a cloud of smoke . Visit was October, 19. Will not be back.

This place used to be amazing but its really gone downhill. For a $44 fish, I expect some effort to remove bones but clearly no one cares. I thought I was going to choke on my food. I also asked for medium rare salmon but it was extremely well done. I also wonder what they were working on because it took forever to come. It came with like 5 leaves as the veggie side and they were so hard to chew so I had to spit them out. Some potatoes were overcooked, some were undercooked. Sauce tasted like cleaning grade vinegar. I asked for salt and the waitress seemed offended. Oh also, they should be paying you to eat that disgusting free bread. Its some sort of instant bread that tastes like plastic. The live pianist was nice. Too bad I couldnt really hear them. Only time the waitress really came around was to sell us more drinks. Over and over. First with the booze then with the post meal coffees. Save your money and go to a family run place where they care about the food they serve. All they care about here is getting you drunk enough so you dont notice how terrible the expensive food here is.

Good: - Attentive staff. On arrival, the hostess was full of smiles and friendly. When I turned the wrong way to washroom, she came out to redirect me. Army of servers help deliver food to table at the same time. Empty plates were picked up quickly. - Food was good as expected for the price, nothing extraordinary. For the big $160 steaks, they cut it up for you family style to share. - Memorable good time. We were there for about 3 hours and did not feel rushed. Spent just under $1000 for a group of 10. Supposedly, big groups must book the private room with min spend $1500 but they made an exception for us by allowing us to sit in the main dining area. - Nice classy decor. - Two of our dishes were prepared tableside with fire. It was a nice surprise and show. Bad server Marina: - Our server was unwilling/uncapable to take food orders out of turn. She went around the table before getting to me, back at the beginning. She barked at me Im taking them in order. - A question about the dessert annoyed her and her reply was curt. I was at the other end of the table but heard about it after. - Tableside show. Marina just showed up, off to the side, a little away, no announcement, and just started cooking. It was a few moments before we realized the peppercorn sauce prep was for us. The second show with baked alaska, Marina showed up 10 directly behind me so I couldnt really see the demo, and it was uncomfortably close with the fire near my face. - Our server is one of the worst Ive had. I dont need to be chatted up with fake smiles but she couldnt even pretend to like her job. Our whole table unanimously felt like an inconvenience to Marina. 3 star is as expected, 5 is above, 1 is below. Overall, dining here was as expected, at this price point, but our server Marina knocked the experience down a little.

August 21, 2024

I m writing to express my disappointment with the service we received during our recent visit. Unfortunately, our dining experience was overshadowed by the poor service from our server, which made the evening very unpleasant. When our server first approached our table to take our order, I politely informed her that it was our family s first time dining at this location, and we needed more time to review the menu. She returned 10 minutes later, and again, we weren t quite ready to order. When I said that to her, she made a surprising face and rather inappropriate comment telling us that if we didnt order now, our food will take very long as a big group will come in soon. This interaction made us feel extremely rushed and uncomfortable, as if the server was more concerned with turning over our table quickly than ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience. Being pressured to order before we were ready is not the kind of service we expect, especially at a restaurant of this caliber. It felt as though our presence was an inconvenience, which is simply unacceptable. Furthermore, we were disappointed with the quality of the food. The oysters were notably small compared to other restaurants and the steaks were mediocre at best. Given the numerous dining options available near this location and in Downtown Vancouver at a similar price point, we expected a much higher standard of both service and food. Overall, this experience has left a negative impression, and as a result, we will not be coming back.

August 21, 2024

Came here to celebrate my birthday and was disappointed in both the gunpowder tomahawk steak that we ordered and the service. Tomahawk was dry (over done) and had no flavor and we basically had no service from our waiter at all. He did not stop by to ask how our food was nor did we get any refill for our water and pop. Was definitely not how I wanted to celebrate my birthday.

In late 2017, Atlas Steak + Fish took over the former location of EBO in the Grand Villa Casino to bring us an upscale steak and seafood house centred around their specially designed, mesquite-fueled, Josper grill. Arriving early on the weekend for their dinner service, we got a very nice table which faced out towards the piano and bar area. We were pleasantly surprised to have a pianist playing a mix of pop hits while we dined and we had a fun time trying to guess the names of the various songs he was interpreting with his own style. After reviewing their tablet which contained their drink menu, we opted for the Imperial Pear ($8 for a single) and Zen Cucumber ($8 for a single), both of which were quite refreshing. Our friendly server also brought us out some pan bread with blue cheese butter. Let me tell you, this bread was really good! I didn t want to get too full on the bread but it was served warm in the cast iron pan and had a nice, light crispness to the exterior while the insides were fluffy and perfect with the creamy blue cheese butter. While you can get your Caesar Salad ($14) prepared tableside if you have at least 2 orders, we didn t really want 2 salads so we just opted for 1 salad (which isn t prepared tableside). This was a fairly traditional Caesar salad with heart of romaine, parmegiano-reggiano cheese, and a light Caesar dressing. The West Coast Bouillabaisse ($30) was simply amazing! The seafood here (including black tiger prawns, mussels, clams, salmon, and rock fish) all tasted so fresh and I loved how big and plump the mussels were. But the real winner here was the rich and creamy San Marzano tomato and lobster broth. For our side dish, we picked the Josper Roasted Vegetables ($8) which had a nice mix of asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, beets, and Brussels sprouts. This is what I came for the 16oz Chili Rubbed Cowboy Rib Steak ($65) from 40-day aged certified angus beef. The meat was so tender, juicy, and flavourful damn! They re known for their baked Alaska but we needed something a bit lighter so we went with the Frozen Trio ($10) which turned out to be Early Grey Ice Cream, Peach Sorbet, and Dulce Gelato with strawberries and pineapple. Overall, dinner here was really good and the atmosphere was great for a date night. We came back to try their lunch service in mid-December and managed to sit in the same lounge area. We were lucky that the same piano player was there so we enjoyed our meal with some live music. First off drinks! We liked the Zen Cucumber last time so we ordered it again and paired it with an El Diablo with Sauza Silver Tequila, blackberry carbonated ginger ale. As it was close to Christmas-time, they had a winter set menu available ($35 for 3 course meal) which included this Butternut Squash Salad as well as a main course of turkey breast with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts and dessert. The squash was quite tender but made for a filling appy. I decided to order from their regular lunch menu because I wanted to try the Lobster Bisque ($10) served with seared scallop and roe. To be honest, I think this soup lacked the rich lobstery punch that I m used to and the flavour was too muted. The Turkey Breast turned out pretty good and I ve always got a soft spot for Brussels sprouts. Odd since I never enjoyed them as a kid. For my main, I opted with the Mussels and Frites ($19) OMG, these frites were amazing! They had a nice crispness to the exterior and they were sprinkled with a cheesy mayo-type dressing. The mussels were served in a cast iron skillet and accompanied with chorizo in a tomatoey broth. For the dessert in the 3-course meal, they brought out Crème Brûlée with Chocolate-Dipped Biscotti. Overall, I ve been quite pleased by the meals that I ve had at Atlas. Personally, I prefer the dinner menu offering and enjoy the live entertainment that they have in the lounge.

Visited for the first time ever and had Richard taking care of us. He provided excellent service ensuring we always had what we needed and was present at just the right times. My partner and I tried the table side Caesar salad which was a great experience to watch them handcraft it in front of us. The bacon bits were the best part of each bite for that salad. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his PEI oysters and the sauces that paired with them. I started off with the Salt Spring Island mussels and clams. I enjoyed the mussels and the sauce more so than the chorizo sausage and clams. The clams were a bit grainy but nonetheless were enjoyable. If there was an option to only order mussels, I would have done that instead for my next visit. For entrees, I ordered the wild mushroom and truffle risotto. It was rich and delectable, with the offering of fresh truffle being a nice touch. My partner had the 1/2 rack of New Zealand lamb which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The entire plate was a masterpiece to look at and tasted even better than it looked. Overall, I look forward to my next visit at Atlas and cannot recommend this place enough.

Great service! My husband and I had a lovely anniversary meal here. The service was excellent from being greeted by the hostess to our server. We started with the Tuna crudo and steak tartare. Generous portions and great flavours. I had the truffle tenderloin and my husband had the Tomohawk Porkchop. My steak was very good. Could have done with less morels but yummy. The Porchop was delicious! So moist and flavourful. The restaurant recognized our anniversary with a complementary dessert which was nice. But after reading about the baked Alaska we still needed to try it. . It was lovely with some tartness which I really enjoyed. All in all we had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend.

My go-to spot for anything special. Always exceptional customer service and high-quality food. Ive had some of the most memorable dining experiences ever here at this restaurant; they just really know how to go above and beyond. Props to the staff and management team. Even when I spend $$$ at this restaurant I walk away after the meal satisfied and feel like I got my dollars worth and truthfully, for me, thats hard to come by when youre spending a $$$ on a meal, but this restaurant delivers every-freaking-time. In the same way that my mom introduced me to Purple Yam Banana Muffins, so too did she introduce me to the Sakura Porkchop over at Atlas. At the time, Id never even heard of the place. I also wasnt a huge fan of porkchops either. But mom rectified both when I went with her and my immediate family to Atlas one night and tried it for myself. Lets just say Ive been back to Atlas several times now, and I always order their porkchop no matter what. Admittedly, they are one of the most expensive restaurants around, but you are absolutely paying for both quality and quantity here. Everything from the decor to the friendly servers, the live piano player if you luck out and catch them, to the complimentary chips and dip, all conspire to make your experience one to remember. And of course, the food is out of this world amazing. Having been there a few times now, I think that Ive sampled most of the menu, and I can honestly say that anything you order is bound to be scrumptious. Depending on what you order, you might even be treated to a table~side spectacle that youd best capture on video so you can relive the action. I wish that I could dine at Atlas more often, but since I cant, I always make sure to order a lot of items so as to tide me over until the next time I can go again. This is a high~class establishment that you definitely need to visit, and Im counting down the days until I can go there again. Food connoisseurs rejoice, Atlas~t there is a restaurant that can actually satisfy your tastebuds.

Premium Steak Quality Problem (Check #1662) On Fathers Day, I ordered a tomahawk steak. The tomahawk was a huge disappointment: it was chewy. My dad loves steaks and he didnt eat much. Ribeyes from Costco were many times better, softer. We left feeling we had wasted $159+tax+tip and worse, wasted a Fathers Day dinner opportunity for a (good) memorable meal.

Came here for a training session hosted by a manufacturer that our company recently acquired as a favored product. We were given choices for their set menu. Food was quite delicious. Very well crafted and presented dishes. Lobster bisque superb, my tenderloin steak was good. Cheesecake for dessert hit the spot. A nice drink selection as well. My mojito was very citrusy I think I had 3 lime slices In it! Yumm!!

Took a while to get myself seated at 930pm when it was only less than 30 percent occupied, it was kind of ridiculous. The front entrance wasnt manned, wished there was a bell I could use. The waitress(sorry but the place was too dark...didnt get her name) that brought me the drink was the best of all, extremely pleasant, unfortunately she was never seen again after. Her colleague were just mediocre at best. You really need smaller dishware as it is only populated with a tiny portion of food in the middle. The only thing that is a saving grace is the complimentary bun. The way the soup presented is just plain dumb, why do I get served with deep fried vermicelli(something I can easily get from a Chinese food fair for a tiny fraction of price) drowned in a sea of oil) only to have the server dispense the soup from a separate bowl. Again the dishware needs to be couple of inches smaller for that few drops of soup. The salmon tasted alright, it was decorated with semi-dried out puree which felt kind of yucky. Again please serve it with a smaller dish for that tiny weeny bit of food. Finally, your credit card machine is just too greedy to suggest 18% as the minimum gratuity amount if only all other staff is on par with the one who took my order at the beginning. By the way, unless there is a dance floor, please turn that annoying music down. PS: that service rating of 5 stars is only given to the waitress who took my food order.

We recently started to dine in at Atlas, we had good experiences but last night we were extremely disappointed. We came in on a Wednesday after dinner service, wasn t busy. We ordered the 12 ounce med rare tenderloin steak and it came out cold after waiting 30 mins. The steak and the roasted potatoes were slightly warm. We spoke to a manager and they took it to the back and gave us the same steak on a different plate that we cut up. Did not taste good at all. Over cooked from reheating. They offered us a free desert and made us pay for the steak. We always get the same steak and we ve never been so disappointed.

Weighing down the food I came here a couple of times when it was first opened and one time at the Langley location. It has been so long I can t even remember how everything was. This place is located inside the hotel and right beside the casino on the 2nd floor. There are plentiful of free parkings across the street in its parkade, or if you are lazy and want to save a few walking steps there are pay street parkings. Upon entering the restaurant, it has that hotel restaurant atmosphere and vibe; bar with piano and live music up front, dining area to the back with an open kitchen beside it, washrooms are located between the casino and restaurant. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Dinner buns. Nice hot little buns made in house (complimentary) 2. Lobster bisque. It came hot, a seared scallop with caviar in the middle, the bisque itself was rich and flavourful. Pretty good. 3. Spanish stuffed calamari. In my mind I pictured it as a nice tender juicy pan seared squid but in reality it was like eating one of those shredded dried squid you buy at an Asian market, failed! 4. Salt Spring Island mussels and clams. The sauce was tasty, rich and went well with the bread but lack of sauce therefore all the mussels and clams on top were dried like raisins. (Not just this place but a lot of restaurants should stop doing this shallow sauce thingy). 5. King crab legs. Okay whoever the chef was in preparing this, please understand cooking seafood 101! DO NOT grill already cooked or frozen crab or crab legs, you will DRY them into tree branches!!! For the love of God, what waste of $65 for this, it was literally like trying to chew on thorny tree branches especially when the crab legs weren t even pre-cut. I took it home and dumped it, this was one ultimate failed of a dish! (Not being dramatic, can zoom into the pictures for reference). 6. Seafood mixed grill. First choice was the seafood tower which I should ve ordered, instead ordered this dish. It was nothing more than butter dried up seafood and the soft shell crab turned into a hard shell crab with mayo. (Why mayo?!??). 7. Truffle tenderloin. The kitchen kind of screwed up and brought it out during the same course as the seafood so had to try to manage to eat here and there. The sauce was a bit too salty and overpowered the steak. Plus it would ve been nice if the truffles were shaved instead of like shredded cheese. I got a tiny table by the lounge area instead of the dining area because I didn t make a reservation. I supposed not too bad listening to some live piano musics up front. The service by the bartender was amazing with his service. I tipped the 30% mainly for the wonderful service the bartender/server provided throughout the duration of the meal. As for the food, definitely needed some major changes and adjustments because I would be pretty embarrassed to serve some of them regardless of the higher price or not. Way below any standards, weighing down on the food, I would say overall it s a failed! P.S. nevertheless, credit is where credit is due. Thank you for taking the calamari off the bill for the steak mixup. But I did put the amount back on top of the tip. (Wink!)

Nice for a romantic date or catch up with girlfriends or both. Situated outside the casino so no ID required to enter restaurant. The bread is super soft and fluffy, however their butter has blue cheese in it so ask for regular if thats not your preference. The truffle tenderloin came with Fois Gras and the fois Gras was the thickest most buttery texture Ive ever had. They also offer fresh struggle shavings after the dish arrived. The creme brulee was beautiful other than I personally dont like almonds and had to pick them out. The ice cream on top was so good and so was the macaroon. The cheesecake was a better less sweet option. The shrimp was done very well, so plump. Lobster bisque was flavourful but a bit spicy. The Mac and cheese had a bit of blue cheese taste to it. The gnocchi had a stronger blue cheese taste to it when we had it that night but having it cold as a leftover actually reduced the blue cheese taste.

We have been regulars at Atlas for years. We love the Burnaby one so much that we still come back after moving 35 minutes away. We always get the seafood tower as it never disappoints. The oysters are usually so fresh, as is everything in the tower. We went there last night as my hubby took me out to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Sadly last night all the food was so disappointing! It was barely edible. When the seafood tower arrived we could smell such a strong fishy stench. There was a bowl of dry ice, but it was no longer cold. So strange! Normally you can see the dry ice, but it looked like tiny cubes in the bowl. The oysters were super tiny, and the mussels were so dried out and overcooked. Nothing tasted right. We also got the beef tar tar which was so salty. The service was good, and we don t want to fault them as they really tried here. We got a complimentary dessert as they always do for special occasions, which we love. We are just sad that the food has gotten so bad. Hoping it is a one off.

We visited this restaurant for my birthday celebration last week. Restaurant for dinner, and hotel for the night. First, our server was fantastic! She was very attentive with great smile, (best genuine smile I ever seen) kept moving, and kept checking. She definitely made my day special. Atmosphere was great, not too dark (hate a place too dark ) not too bright, well maintained and clean. Bonus a live piano music! We enjoyed our night very much. They served bread with blue cheese butter, which was very good! It seemed like they baked the bread in house, very fresh! The blue cheese butter was really good (we like blue cheese). It felt like the blue cheese amount is more than the butter. We had to ask for another butter. The lamb was very well cooked (mid-rare), and great taste. I would like to go back for it!!! The reason I gave 2stars for food was the seafood. Regardless the rest of food was super good, the seafood was the worst seafood I had in town. (Probably the worst in my life) We ordered seafood tower, the only thing we liked was prawns. (I didn t mind the poke either, but my partner didn t like it much) We started with the top on tower, which had fresh oysters too. We had to ask our server to change one piece, because it was not looking good (and the smallest piece I ve seen) Our server brought a much better looking one for us. We were very happy about it. The problems was the bottom of tower. The worst lobster, crab legs, shellfish. They were not fresh at all. It s more like they are about to go bad. No taste of seafood, and had a little bit of weird smell. Shellfish are dried out. The mussels were like a chewing gum someone already chewed. We thought about telling them, but after having the lamb and nice bottle of wine already, we didn t want to make our night with complaining. (Especially on my bday) I showed the picture of shellfish to my friend who went to the casino buffet few days before me. She told me that they looked like the one she saw at the buffet. Our server also treated us with a surprise bday cake, so we were happy about our experience. Didn t want to complain and make it awkward. We hope the main chef improve the quality of seafood better next time. I definitely will not order seafood from here, but I would like to try their steak someday.

ATLAS Steak + Fish is located within the body of the Grand Villa Casino. Its a well-decorated and elegant sort of restaurant with a relaxed luxury feel. When we went they had live piano which provided a reasonable ambiance without impinging on our meal. 5 stars for Atmosphere, no problems for a restaurant in a casino, its nice without making you wish youd worn a tie. Food, however, left a lot to be desired. The steaks were good but not mind-blowing. My nephew and I both had the 10oz USDA Prime New York Strip. My nephews came perfectly medium rare, the way we both ordered them, mine definitely came done medium. They were kind about sending it back, brought a replacement within maybe 6 or 7 minutes, but it didnt have the crust the original had and was closer to rare. The rare, however, was a vast improvement, fair enough. The sides were overpriced and mediocre. Parmesan Truffle Fries were dry and felt unsalted, dressed with some shredded parm and a sparse drizzled sauce; the fries were overcooked and dry inside. The Brie Mashed Potatoes were gummy and thick, I think I could have patched a hole in a boat with them -- youd expect mashed potatoes and brie, two typically creamy foods would marry into something truly decadent but they did not. Fries cost $12, the potatoes cost $16, and neither were close to worth it. They gave free fresh brioche bread with a blue cheese butter that was tasty. Service was fine. They didnt check in as regularly as Id like but it was a Saturday night so you can forgive some business. But at the same time, at an upscale steakhouse with upscale prices, you expect the service to match. They gave us a free creme brûlée for my nephews birthday and it was bland and sort of thin; Creme brûlée is top 3 desserts for me but neither of us had more than 2 bites. It was, again, fine. Summary/tl;dr -- The food is fine but its not worth the upscale price tag. Steaks were the best part but even that didnt go off without a hitch. Decor is lovely in an unremarkable but elegant way. If youre in the casino already and you want steak, sure, but definitely dont come out just to go to ATLAS, definitely not a destination restaurant. Definitely avoid the potato-based sides. Service was objectively mid but again not measured against price point and elevated air of the restaurant.

Three stars maybe generous. So lets begin with the welcome committee, who decide our friend who had been in the casino couldnt drink his coke he brought in with him, not a subtle quite word about some policy or rule but quite the performance first the server then a manager! At this stage Id have left, but my friends all wanted to stay... Food was ok which for the price is not good, for that price point I want a meal to remember, for the right reasons. Drinks were reasonably priced for an aledged high end steak and seafood restaurant. Server did her best but it just wasnt good enough, quite possibly like so many restaurants under staffed, so too many tables to give great service. Also, its a very loud room, we were only 6 at a round table but couldnt hear each other without shouting... Just to try and find a positive, theres lots of free parking... Long story short, its a restaurant in a casino what the heck was I doing thinking it could possibly be what its advertised and priced as. Wont be back.

We had a party of 28 and they accommodated us very well over 3 tables. The service was superb and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, the food was not at par with their service. I think it was just a rough night because most of the reviews are stellar. Appetizer: The lobster bisque was super salty and just tasted off. Majority of us ordered it and none of us enjoyed it:( The Cesar salad was delicious though! For the main, I got the strip loin which was a solid piece of steak. But, the seasonal veggies were under cooked. We couldnt even poke the potatoes with our forks without it flying across the table. Without hesitation, they brought us a fresh plate and it was much better. The lobster spaghettini was full of seafood and the noodles were al dente. Two of the 3 plates we ordered had to be sent back because it tasted like the sea met the table. The new plates were much better. Dessert: strawberry cheesecake was the star of the meal. Could have been cold though. Not sure why it was a warm cheesecake but nevertheless still good. Again, I think it was just an off day in the kitchen which is too bad since it was our first time there. I would eventually like to come back and try again but not for a while. Tonight, I had enough salt to feed a whole community. Parking: Park in the casino garage for free

I made a huge mistake by not reading the reviews before making dinner reservations for a special birthday. The restaurant doesnt answer their telephone. The reservation process was complicated and this should have prompted me to book at another restaurant. The restaurant has declined in atmosphere, customer service and the food quality is not up to fine dining standards. The server was surly and unprofessional. She does not practice proper health and food safety protocols. The calamari appetizer was served cold to me twice after sending it back to the kitchen. I recommend taking it off the menu, it is disgusting and I wouldnt feed it to the rats outside! We were being ignored because the large party of 30 guests beside us were getting all of the attention. Our server messed up my friends drink order and couldnt even bring him the correct beer. At this point we were not receiving any service at all. No drinks and no food. When she finally returned I was asking questions about items on the menu which she had no patience to properly answer. After 1.5 hours my friends had food in front of them. It didnt arrive on time or together. I finally received a crab cake which was cold as well because our server had left it up on the bar too long. I choked it down because I was starving. In the end, the server threw a hiss fit and refused to serve us and stormed away. The floor manager took over but we had had enough. She offered me the general manager s business card and we left. Happy Birthday to me! I left without dinner, without being able to use the washroom or wash my hands because the womens washroom was closed for 30 minutes at 6:30pm at night for cleaning. I called and left a message for Isaiah Collins, but apparently I am not important enough to call back! Because of the lack response and the questionable food handling and lack of sanitary conditions, I will be contacting Fraser Health and requesting an inspection. The one crab cake that I did consume sent me to the washroom! Eat at Atlas at your own risk.I am only writing this review to warn other patrons.

Went to Atlas last night for dinner as I thought I would treat myself and was really looking forward to having an incredibly delicious meal or so I thought - especially seeing the high price point their menu items are at. Ordered the 10oz NY Strip + ½ lobster and shrimp thermidor. Probably THE worst steak I have ever had at this price point. It was fatty and chewy and lacked any taste, I had requested it be cooked medium rare and it was rare. I would rate this steak as the same type you would get at a divey pub. The lobster and shrimp thermidor were lukewarm and similar to the steak - lacking flavour. The potatoes that were served with the meal were literally black, burnt to a crisp. I cannot believe the kitchen allowed them to go out like that. To make matters worse there was a large group sitting in the restaurant that were hollering like it was some kind of club, was expecting to experience a high scale relaxing atmosphere and had to hear a bunch of screeching while I was eating my meal. The service was good as well as my Caesar and crème brûlée dessert/coffee but the steak dinner was supposed to be the main star of my visit and at $79 dollars I was hugely disappointed.

Celebrating my daughter s graduation dinner couldn t have been better! The dinner was absolutely amazing. Service exceptional and a really nice, classy ambiance. Our server Julie made the teenage girls feel special and celebratory desert on the house was a real special treat. So glad we chose this place to create a really special memory.. highly recommend this place!

Excellent. Much better than Gotham for value and food quality. Service was really impressive! Well thought out menu and lots of fun table side options that keep the atmosphere lively. Would have been nice to have prime rib available on a Friday night though. Thanks very much!

My first time visiting was in 2021, and we had to return because of their incredible steak. Its worth noting that Im not typically a fan of steaks due to my specific preferences, but this steakhouse truly won me over. I cant quite express how awesome the recent dining experience was, but Ill do my best to include my 2021 experience as well. Food: The flavours and textures are a whole new level for many dishes I had tried. Starting with complimentary bread. It comes with soft butter and blue cheese. The outer layer was lightly crispy and soft, pillow-y texture. It was so good, I saved some for my soup. Lobster Bisque was delicious, smooth with a touch of olive oil, a seared scallop, and caviar. I ordered medium rare for my steak. It has the perfect amount of seasonings. The crust was nicely seared, which forms beautiful crispy edges. When it was cut, there wasnt any juice that leaked onto the plate. It was absorbed into the meat, making it tender and juicy. The lobstertail was fresh and well-seasoned. It comes with a melted butter for dipping, which adds another layer flavor. The pork chop was also tender and well-seasoned. However, the roasted potatoes as the sides were bit overly salted and seasoned. Mushroom risotto was creamy, with lots of texture. Favourite dish(es): Lobstertail, steaks, bread Service: During both visits, they were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The sauce making and dessert torching added a nice touch to the experience. Id like to give a shout-out to Fitz for his exceptional and welcoming service. He kindly suggested splitting the soup into two portions when he learned we were sharing. Throughout our visit, he consistently checked in to see if we needed anything else. Environment: Classy vibe, with a pianist daily at 6 pm Recommend: Absolutely!

Just left Atlas. Clean, quiet and relaxing environment and service. Happy hours menu is very affordable and friendly. But taste good and seafood is fresh. The girl served me was very kind and nice with pretty smiles. When she helped me to pay with my credit card and skipped the tip option and no tip been charged. That made me feel very sorry since she deserved a big tip. But she smiled and said no worries and next time. Now everyone complains about forcing tip. Her behaviour deserves a big tip and great review. Thanks Atlas! Next time when I visit Vancouver you are the number one on my list.

My recent visit to Atlas Steak + Fish was truly extraordinary. It provided an exquisite atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable evening. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism by a staff who clearly take pride in their work. The service was truly top-notch. Our server was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, guiding us to make the perfect selections. Throughout the evening, the entire team displayed genuine hospitality, ensuring that our every need was met. The food at Atlas Steak + Fish is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Each dish was an artful presentation of fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Whether you have a passion for seafood or savor the finest cuts of steak, this menu caters to all tastes, leaving you craving more with every bite. One particular moment that stood out during our visit was the chefs personal attention to our needs. When we mentioned our daughters dietary restrictions, the chef took it upon themselves to craft a special dish that not only met but exceeded our expectations. This level of care and dedication truly elevated our dining experience. In sum, Atlas Steak + Fish is a shining star in the world of dining. This restaurant used to be one of my favourites in the lower mainland but the last few visits have been disappointing. The service and atmosphere is always memorable but the food quality leaves much to be desired. The sea bass was tasty but be mindful that you get the whole fish so there s lots of bones. The oil-based sauce that s included goes well with the fish. The tomahawk pork chop used to be my favorite but it has been over cooked and dry the last few times despite asking for medium. It s disappointing because Atlas used to knock it out of the park with the dish. Luckily, the bacon and apple topping was delicious so it was still decent but not a standout like it used to be. The seafood cioppino broth was extremely salty. The meat in the crab legs and shrimp were mushy and flavourless. I would not recommend this dish. I used to consider Atlas as a must visit when I have friends from out of town but I would leave it off the list now considering the last experiences. I heard happy hour is decent so maybe I ll give atlas another go, but not for an fancier dinner option anymore. Responding to reply: I did not mention to our server. I had the pork chop and it was decent so I didn t see the point. My partner had the cioppino and she didn t want to be that person to complain considering we always enjoy the service and atmosphere. Thanks

I visit once a year, unfortunately sad to say their food quality and taste has gone down. Very few selections (only 1 pasta dish) and the seafood was very small in size compared to the past years I have gone here. However, the service was excellent our server Gurveer went over and beyond for us. Our steak was a little rare for our liking and he returned it to the kitchen to get it cooked once again! He even gave free dessert as we were celebrating that night. He also gave credits to his fellow servers that came to help with our table at the end of the meal when I asked for his name, very humble. He was amazing and the only reason why I m writing this review. My family would like to go back just for his service!

We really appreciated the ambience and service of this restaurant. Our server was extremely attentive and kind. Some of the food items were delicious (lobster prawn roll, steak tartare, strawberry rhubarb pavlova cheesecake) but we weren t a fan of some other items, like the stuffed calamari or tuna poke.

Loved the atmosphere and great service. But, pured my drink into an empty glass turned out be dirty. Leftover mint surfaced up. Called the server and my drink was immediately replaced. My dinner on the other hand failed. Presentation was ok. The chicken was bland and surprisingly dry. I did expect it to be a small portions and it was smaller than I expected. Langley location is no better. Sadly, this is going to be my last visit.

We tried Atlas for the first time! The ambiance and interior was really nice. There was a pianist playing which was amazing. The server and service was great! You can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen as its open and the food came out in a timely fashion. The brûlée goat cheese bruschetta was to die for and the cowboy rib steaks flavour blew us out of the park! Everything else was delicious as well. The complimentary bread was the perfect mix of fluffy, soft with a crisp crust. However, the whipped brie mashed potatoes werent very heavy on the brie flavour. There was a hair in my caesar salad which was disappointing but the staff was very accommodating and apologetic! I would for sure give this place a try!

I have had dinner at Atlas Steak & Fish 3 times. On past experiences, I would have rated the food at 4/5 stars. This last visit, I had the seabass, and it was served as a whole Fish (including head &tail) it was small with many bones, and I could be wrong, but I believe it was farm raised. It did not meet my expectations from such a prestigious restaurant. It was mediocre at best. The service & atmosphere was superb.

Disappointed. We ve come to the Burnaby location for years. Birthdays, New Years Eve, casual dinners, family dinners. Food has always been fantastic and service top-notch. This last time we had rsvps for my husband s birthday dinner - 8 of us. Service was mediocre at best: usually they ask how things are, top up on beverages. Basically staff is present. Not this night. I had the duck (as that s always been my favourite dish). It was tasteless. The cabbage had more flavour. The Yorkshire pudding was dry, hard and seemed days old. It took forever to get our cappuccinos and they took that off the bill because of the delay. We still gave a decent tip but need to find a better place after this disappointment.
