Glorious Bao & Fried Rice is a rising star of Canada’s dining scene. When it comes to authentic Taiwanese cuisine, we are proud to call ourselves the perfect balance between tradition and innovation. Having had the privilege of working under a Michelin starred chef, the founders have longed for a business of their own where they can concretize their dreams and creativities. On December 8th, 2019, Glorious Bao & Fried Rice, a restaurant in Vancouver that specializes in handmade Dim Sum, namely Soup Dumplings, and specialty stir-fry dishes, finally came to fruition. Our story has just begun.
Loved the stinky tofu, so stinky. Loved the popcorn chicken as well. Tasted just like home
You can easily find other Taiwanese meals that are much better than this one! In my meal, everything is a disaster except for the black tea. Waffle, the picture showed two pieces, but what I received was one piece along with a bunch of crispy bits. As for the side dish, they used a small steamed bun, which I've never seen any restaurants do so before. The noodles were cut into very small pieces, most of them shorter than a finger joint. The noodle for sure was from the left over pack. They only gave these tiny noodle pieces. The noodles were super soft and really not tasty at all; they were just greasy.
Food is reasonable price. The Taiwan Salted fried chicken is good but the dry chow Mein is not so good. Hope to choose another option if noodles can be chooses in the future.
I've been coming here for a year now and have always had the same menu item, shrimp fried rice, and I feel like the quality is getting lower and lower despite the rising prices.
I would say this place offers authentic Taiwanese street food. The taste of the popcorn chicken and pork belly Gua Bao was good. The only downside was that the ingredient inside my Gua Bao was not reheated or thawed properly, so it was somewhat cold inside, which it shouldn't be. All in all, this is a restaurant that I would visit again.
Highly recommend! Ordered #16 Mince Pork Belly & Popcorn chicken on rice! Tastes authentic taiwanese. The pork was well marinated and chopped small enough. There is no weird 'pork' taste at all! Food quality is good and freshly made! Unlike most food court food with no effort! Portion is good with no waste of rice left at the end. Will try there Bao next time:) The Staff is very friendly and knowing what the customer is concerned about.
Fun to try a new place, especially in a food court! The bao was super tasty! My soup dumplings needed a bit more zing, they lacked flavour. My girls enjoyed their crispy chicken and lemonade. I will try some other items off the menu next time.
I've ordered 2 combo (included drinks) with one free popcorn chicken, great price! We liked the teriyaki chicken and beef but the chow mein noodles had too sauce and greasy. The shrimp fried rice and popcorn chicken were perfect and delicious. Great service.
My go-to at Brentwood! I like the mala spice flavour. Everything tastes great and the value is also pretty good. I watched a fight go down in the Brentwood food court (they were screaming about custody of their firstborn), but the popcorn chicken lifted my mood
No. 1 authentic Taiwanese pork belly gua boa and popcorn chicken! Ginger sesame oil chicken noodle soup warms you from head to toe. Must try in Brentwood!
Freshly cooked
Microwave food .
Gross and super oily. Ordered the beef noodle soup, tasteless and small portion. Paid $20 with tips, absolutely a waste. Wont come back again.
The fried chicken leg was great. The noodle soup was pretty bland and the black tea was alright
Salty always tastes gross like dirty sea water. Not cooked properly needs a real chef to cook it cause they dont know what they are doing. Next time just make it yourself at home.. I was VERY dissatisfied DO NOT EAT HERE
Good portion with decent price. Cannot finish it all. And the taste is good. Highly recommends their herbal chicken noodles soup and black tea. Recommended dishes Noodle Soup
Before food was delicious and good service and take care food safely this year they not good safety and not pay attention this product. I got wrong items because I never ordered spicy pork belly fat they gave wrong items I order normal pork fat belly not spicy . Thanks
They treat customers and delivery drivers very badly used abusive language, hung up on me and not responding to calls
Their popcorn chicken and the soup dumplings are super delicious. Everything is made to order, super fresh. It s a must try!
Food was absolutely horrific. Got the pork belly Bao bun with popcorn chicken. Couldnt even eat the Bao bun, the pork was slimy and mushy. Popcorn chicken was bland. Total waste of money.
The smelliest spicy stinky tofu I ve ever eaten in Vancouver This stinky tofu was actually stinky!!! I love it!!! I don t really like the noodles but that s just personal preference I wish it was Taiwanese ramen
I bought Rice w/ sausage, not Tomato. Why tf you guys gave us a lot of Tomato? Less Sausage more Tomato for the green world?
Going to Brentwood Mall for lunch there is a huge selection of good food and I always come back coming to his place and order their Shrimp Fried Rice which also comes with a Bun, and a drink. For the money it is really good value. Food is always amazing here!!! Will recommend to come here for lunch as they have a pretty good sizeable lunch menu to choose from.
Love their fried rice and chicken cutlet. Please serve fried rice a la carte or as an add on!
9cad bought a Chaos Soup with 8 mini size wontons and some cabbage? Crazy, and the chaos is all stuck together, like noodles, the fried rice tastes okay, the wontons are outrageous
The braised pork rice is okay, a little salty, and it wont get greasy if two people eat it together. Eggs should be paired with braised eggs or poached eggs to taste better. Parking: There are many and large parking spaces Wheelchair accessibility: Ample space for wheelchairs
Really yummy! Came here for a quick bite after the gym, 10/10 hit the spot Got the shrimp and masago fried rice
Fried rice and deep fried chicken is so good. The fried rice is delicious with the steam from the pot. The store owner is very polite and even entertains children with cheese. Thank you.
The lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful, and the food was just so good.
Avoid the food here, not prepared properly (vegetables had flies and were not cleaned properly, dessert had questionable texture), lo and behold food poisoning several hours later.
great food and service
Great combo meal!
When it first opened, I often went here to eat salted crispy chicken. It was always fresh and delicious. The whole family is very satisfied Yesterday I went to buy chicken chop fried rice The chicken chop powder is obviously not the sweet potato powder used before. Instead, a lot of cornstarch is added to the paste. The paste is so thick that you can t even bite into it. The fried rice is also a lot oilier than before. A bit disappointed with the poor quality.
Food was okay, just edible but not great. Spicy basil fried rice is made with the wrong rice and really mushy and wet. No wok hey. The lemonade that comes with the combo taste like water with drops of lemon extract. Low quality for the price. Popcorn chicken was good tho. Wont come again.
Long wait (at 4:15PM), small portion & pricey, fried chicken was almost cold. Overall it s hard for me to say worth it
Very impressed with the Taiwanese food menu. Lots to choose from, great combos, the pork belly Gua Bao was delicious! The steamed pork dumpling with soup was flavourful. Well be back again!
Ordered popcorn chicken and it was great! Just the right amount of rice and chicken, also comes with a beverage with a price of just over $15. Good value food court choice
Xièxiè!! I hauled a few Crispy Fish Gua Baos on BOGO for lunch and must admit I actually enjoyed this, although initially skeptical. Im not a fan of tartar sauce, so it was fairly plain but the fish cutlets were plentiful, juicy and had good flavor and texture, cooked well in nice soft steamed Bao, yummy grub.
Beef noodle too salty. Taste so so. Portion is small too.
Dealing with 8 hrs of food poisoning since eating there... Be careful
Vegetarian options: The best bao buns and fried rice! Popcorn chicken is a must try, hits the spot!!
Buy two set meals and get a piece of salted crispy chicken for free. This salted crispy chicken is the best salted crispy chicken I have ever eaten in Vancouver. There is plenty of meat in the set meal, the taste is very good, and the price is reasonable. Five stars for you.
Cashier girl is super kind and nice genuinely, food is also good, generous portion. Highly recommend!
Very decent for its price.
I ordered a sausage fried rice combo and soup dumplings. The sausage was delicious, perfectly cooked. The rice was a little bitter but super flavourful. I didnt love the dressing on the side salad (which is just some cabbage and 2 bland broccoli pieces) or the spring roll. But tbh I wasnt even expecting the extra sides anyways. The soup dumplings tasted like classic ones, no problems there. A little expensive but I was definetly full before I finished:) lemonade was also good not too sweet. Lovely counter girl.
My favourite place at Brentwood Food court. I ve been there few times for quick meal sometimes and the food was always fresh with generous portion. Spicy popcorn chicken and stir fried shrimp combo are the best. Cashier/server her name Liz, she is always helpful and friendly!
Really good. Price, taste, service!!
Order got mixed up with another order and instead of fixing it... well, they make you wait without explanation. What a joke. This happened more than once at this location.
Fried chicken cutlet fried rice set + mango cheese has a very high CP value Fried chicken steak + spicy noodles, a perfect match... The fried rice is light and fragrant, just like my mother s taste. It would be better if there is less oil. The portion is large...and filling! arrive! rabbit!
Very good food experience! The spicy chicken combo and spicy stinky tofu pot are so delicious! My family ate it three days a week. The mango pudding is also very tasty! Recommended!! By the way their Pork Belly Gua bao is also a must try!
Good quick bite; the fried chicken is very fresh and the buns are nice. Very good soft pork - the pork is a bit sweet so be aware.
Fried chicken is so yummy
BBQ pork and sesame buns were excellent. Veggie bun not a big hit. Also had the sesame combo with chow mein which was okay. Free popcorn chicken was great! Ive also eaten here in person for lunch but didnt see many buns on the menu (just gau Bao). Vegetarian options: Veggie bun was disappointing. Kinda like spring roll filling.
The pork belly gua bao tastes not glorious at all. The combination in the gua bao don t fly. Not good combination. I didn t want to continue at all. Disappointed. Chicken nugget was good.
Friendly service with great food! Definitely going to recommend to my friends.
When it opened before, our family really liked the taste and service, so she gave it five stars. But now the service has become very poor. I told them that they dont need the cutlery, but they still put the cutlery. Things that are not on the menu have not been removed, and there are many other items that have caused our family to have a very bad ordering experience in the past five times. Anyway, there are many choices nearby and I don t want to go to this one again.
Cant believe this is food court food.. Followed the reviews and WoW. The portion of the Bao is wild.. Massive and Full of Flavor. It was an incredible experience! 100% coming back to try other items on the menu
Best Taiwanese style fired chicken in Vancouver
Do NOT order food via delivery from them. On 2 instances they have forgotten items + drinks in the combo. Bad attention to detail.
Great food, especially the popcorn chicken and bao. The basil fried rice is also worth trying. Good large portions, can almost never finish the combos.
Got pork belly + popcorn chicken combo and it was super delicious. They should get rid of tipping though (no food court place should ask for tips - theres no table service and you order using a tablet!). Just raise the menu price 20%, pay workers well, and get rid of tipping!
I ate my food too fast to take a photo haha! I got the Spicy Basil Beef fried rice combo and it was so delicious! The fried rice is flavourful and I think it is stir fried with tomatoes and a good mix of chili flakes and spices the beef slices were tender and a good portion! It came with a crispy spring roll and some broccoli and red cabbage with creamy and tangy mayo sauce drizzled over top~ I enjoyed it a lot! Will get it again :)
The popcorn chicken and chow mein didn t have much taste. Very bland. The iced tea was not sweet at all and the pork bao barely had any meat or sauce in it. Very disappointed for a place with good reviews.
The curry chicken in rice was so good! I love it.
Amazing wok power in their short grain fried rice. Very tasty
It was nice to see Taiwanese food in the food court of Brentwood Mall. We came here twice, and both times the service was great! Highly recommended! - Popcorn chicken: crust was crispy and meat was juicy, tender, and flavourful. Would definitely order it again next time. - Stinky tofu noodle soup with fish: The broth was flavourful, nice and spicy. Spicy level cannot be adjusted. Perfect if you miss or want to try the famous stinky tofu from Taiwan. - Mala spicy stir-fried beef on rice: It was very, very spicy and flavourful. Forgot to ask if we can adjust the spicy level for this dish. Would ask for less spicy if we can. We loved the Sichuan pepper flavour in this dish. Also that it came with veggies (carrots, bell pepper, broccoli, and cabbage) so its not all meat! - Drinks came with the combo: we chose black tea and lemonade, both very refreshing and light, perfect to go with a spicy meal!
The pork belly gua bao makes me reminisce on my time in Taiwan. Will definitely return, and highly recommend.
very big chicken!
The cashier was very patient with us when we were ordering. The food was delicious. Great promo as well.
I usually ordered Chow mein with pop corn chicken and Its taste good but today they disappoint me a little bit because there chow mein doesnt taste like I ordered last time , right now it doesnt taste savory than before
Pork belly bao and popcorn chicken combo was excellent and serving size was good. The black tea was good for a hot day but might not be as sweet as some might expect. Around 30% sugar or so at a bbt shop
chef is the best in town
Delicious
The best fried rice here!!
Delicious meals and generous portions The counter is very friendly A good choice if you want to eat Taiwanese food
I will definitely report it... The fried rice is so delicious that I want to ask the chef for Instagram The portion is so big that I can t finish it all
This place offers amazing food at a fair price, with a great variety of authentic Taiwanese flavors. Dont underestimate it just because its in a food court their dishes are cooked to perfection. The fried chicken rice is crispy and flavorful, and the bao is incredibly soft with explosive flavors. Highly recommended!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND. They dont use fried rice in the popcorn chicken rice combo anymore. Soggy rice instead. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.
I came at 7pm on a weekday for dinner. I was disappointed because the crispy chicken and baos were sold out. I got the Boneless tender steamed Chicken with original noodle soup (#10) and the #3 Spicy Basil Beef Fried rice and got the Popcorn chicken for free. This is part of their promotion for getting 2 meals and free side. The Basil Beef Fried rice was my favorite, the flavor was tasty, and not too spicy. The lemonade was perfect to quench my thirst. The soup did not seem special, I wish the noodles were cooked al dente and the pieces of chicken were placed on the side. But there were quite a few pieces of chicken in the soup and chicken was extremely tender The staff were helpful with answering questions about the dishes, they have a good variety to meals. I would still come back for the crispy chicken and fried rice next time
Horrible, food looked like it had spat in it and found a piece of hair it, I can t be mine because I have short hair. Food was dry and salty plus I ordered a popcorn chicken which was not in the bag at all. Do not eat here at all
If you dont want to work at the front desk, you dont have to do it. I forgot about my meal and the first one went from hot to ice. I asked you to heat it up and I gave you a smile. In the end, you didnt even apologize after reheating it. I wont come here again.
Really like the pork bao, girl at front is nice
was my favourite place, ate here a couple times a month. the food i recieved today was of such low quality im not sure i want to spend my money here anymore. ordered on uber, was missing one of the meals so i had to spend extra to actually EAT my meal. food that did arrive was gross, rotten coleslaw on it (i work in food, i use coleslaw daily, this was GROSS) and just poor packaging overall. really dissapointing as this is my favourite place to eat.
We waited a very long time. We ordered Bao, popcorn chicken and lemonade, but the lemonade had almost no taste. The popcorn chicken tasted too garlicky and I didnt enjoy it much. We ll never go back.
Had waited for our order (2 combos) for over 30 mins, someone who ordered a combo after us got his order 10 mins earlier than us. Walked up and talked to the woman at the counter, not apologetic at all, gave us a meal box that has sat at the kitchen counter for more than 10 min instead. I heard a kitchen staff spoke to the front staff that they made the wrong order and asked her to apologize to us and see if we were willing to take the wrong order. The front woman then placed the wrong order on our tray and said nothing, not even telling us this is not the food that we ordered. She looked at our order receipt three times but still forgot to give us the dessert that we ordered. What an experience! The quality of the food and the services do not worth the money we spent at all! The lemonade that we ordered taste like water with a few drops of lemon abstract. Tasteless. The rice is cold for both orders. To the owner of this food stand: if you want to survive and build your business here, you have to train your staff especially the frontline with proper customer services skills and work efficiently and accurately.
Delicious food! I have enjoyed the bao, the rice dishes and others. Good portions sizes as well for your different levels of hunger.
Horrific Bao is what this place should be called. Ordered takeout of beef noodle soup, tomato beef, and popcorn chicken. Worst beef noodle soup base with no artificial flavors and beef digital tendon meat. Same thing with tomato beef. Cheap beef cut in vomit slurry. Popcorn chicken is way too salty. So many regrets.
Every item is excellent, especially their popcorn chicken with fried rice, teriyaki chicken with steamed rice, and eggs; they are so tasty. I eat them every day. must try
Popcorn chicken and the pork belly bao were too salty. Needs to tone down the salt
Probably not the best service(you have to wait for a while) and not the heathiest food. But the taste is good, and the price is cheap. To some other entitled 1 star reviewers, what do you expect from a freaking 14 dollar food court meal? I honestly dont know how gbao manages to keep their price so cheap in todays inflation. Canada sucks..Trudeau and Singh have run this country into the ground.
Spicy set meal Chicken, with vegetables, half a sausage, 1 cup of iced tea not bad
Glorious Bao is located in the new food court of Brentwood Mall. You can order in person or at the kiosk. There are many options and ability to make it a meal including adding a drink and or adding a dessert. The food we ordered was one of the boxed Taiwanese rice with a beverage and dessert. Taste was mediocre and very much fast food. The milk tea was good and a cheap addition to the meal.
I came here on November 26, 2023 with some friends and I ordered the Salmon Fried Rice Combo, and its delicious! This dish reminds me of home (Im Cantonese). Definitely would recommend.
Only came here once, but quality and quantity were good, taste was good, plus good service. I recommend
The food was amazing. Good quantity would recommend this.
Amazing varieties and yum food!
One of my go to lunch places
Delicious food and cheap price
Good
Had the pork belly Gua Bao and it was awesome! Never been before but will be back!
Taiwanese food. Great portion.
Great food and portion for the price. Our go to whenever we are here. Crispy chicken with fried rice is our fav, my son loves the fried rice.
Glorious Bao is the food closest to Taiwanese taste I have ever eaten in Burnaby. The staff is very patient. 5-star review!!!!!
Food was great! Good deal for the price
lovely staff and delicious food!
Delicious tasting food and the drinks are wonderful as well. Highly recommended!
Food was great and the popcorn chicken was crunchy
Good food and crunchy popcorn chicken. Great service!
Great place at Brentwood! I go there often, best choice of the places there
Very tasty food, a wide selection and friendly customer service. Usually get bonus gifts when order over $30!
*Edit: now the owner is threatening legal action because I posted something that they have displayed publicly. Proves my point regarding the lack of integrity. This review is about the integrity of the business- they have none. Bribing customers for 5 star reviews is embarrassing and dishonest. They should be ashamed. I don t know how many 5 star reviews on here are fake so buyer beware.
One of the best place in Brentwood Food Court to grab a bite. Good portions, excellent service, and fair price. Highly recommend!
Beautiful baos, wonderful service.
delicious Best Taiwanese restaurant in Burnaby! recommend Food : 5/5
Ordered the XLBs and the pork bao taco combo. Value for money is very poor given what you get. $30 total. The bao taco was very tasty but its so small and comes with a side of salty chicken. The XLBs were below average. Its cool that its a new option in the food court but the value and flavour just isnt there.
One of the most authentic Taiwanese food in town. The Gua Bao and the fried rice almost made my Taiwanese wife cry.
I ordered the chicken nuggets and fried rice (#1) at 4:30 and its that weird time between lunch and dinner. The chicken and the spring roll have been sitting out so its not crispy and not warm. Fried rice was the traditional egg and green onion. Rice was a bit moist. The chicken was salty but the rice wasnt so it paired well together. I dont think I would recommend this place but in a pinch, its fine. 3.8 out of 5
Disagree completely with someone elses 2-star review. I recommend trying the pork belly combo. The bao has a generously thick slice of pork that is spiced nicely and a soft fluffy bun. The dish also comes with popcorn chicken that I can never finish and have to take home for later, so I think its a good deal. Parking: Under and above ground.
Amazing food, good portion and high quality for a fair price. I recommend to everyone who is near by, will refer more friends over. Owner are very nice and thank you for the great service!
I got the Pork Belly Bao combo that comes with popcorn chicken for 16.75 (after tax). The bao was pretty tasty and popcorn chicken was standard. Came with a drink that I did not want but I had to take it anyways. As a Taiwanese person, I really like seeing places sell Baos but the side options are kind of disappointing. I m not a big fan of popcorn chicken because I ve had it so much and I wish there was an option for 2 Bao combo. I also don t know if I d pay $20 for 2 Baos.
Very tasty food! Good portion, If I go back to Burnaby for sure I will drop by again! Bravo for the excellent work
Fried chicken combo was super delicious very generous portion excellent flavor, I got the spicy but it s not too spicy, friendly service fast and affordable
Curry and popcorn chicken combo was delicious and filling! Will visit again soon
This place is awesome! They have 2 types of fried rice both are great.
Delicious and fast! Portion was generous. Popcorn with rice and their fish bao was a hit with my kids. Was not a fan of their house ice tea though.
Just like many of the other restaurants in the Brentwood Mall food court, this too is a disappointment! I ordered the deep fried chicken combo with an Iced tea and side of pop corn chicken. The deep fried chicken was basically just deep fried batter. The side of vegetables that comes with it looked like two small sad pieces of broccoli with a tiny splat of dressing. The only part of this dish that I enjoyed was the fried rice which had a lot of flavor. Dont bother trying the Iced tea unless you enjoy drinking what tastes like water poured in an older tea cup. It did not taste like Iced tea. It didnt even come with ice lol. Save your money and go somewhere else!
Very authentic Taiwanese food Service attitude is also very good I can t provide photos because they look too Taiwanese. Eat it up immediately
disappointed, soup and noodles were bland and tasted store brought, the dumplings were good but not worth for waiting really long while being the only customer
Had their shrimp fried rice with masago (smelt/capelin roe) combo. Pricey but good. Small cup of iced milk tea on the side is pricey if you are not buying it with your meal order.
Honestly, its not bad. Service was great and had a self serve kiosk aswell. Wait times are per usual for a food court. Food is very salty *even for chinese. Milk tea was decent though. For the price I would definitely say its alright if you compared it to what else is available at Brentwood.
The waiter was very, very nice! The price is not expensive but the food is very delicious and the ingredients are fresh. The milk tea tastes more like tea than milk, so it s quite delicious! The chicken chop tastes good too, I will come here often
I had the teriyaki chicken and beef on noodles, oh my goodness, it was the best food court meal I ve ever had! It was absolutely delicious!
Pork belly bao was really good. The pork was perfectly cooked and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I liked the pickles in the bao too, they added good flavour. Chicken was very juicy and seasoned in the typical Taiwanese style. Lemonade was a bit too sweet. The menu is odd; they are called Glorious Bao but there are only 2 baos at the bottom of the menu The Halloween special was good value (free order of chicken with $25+). Without the Halloween special I think I would consider the pork belly bao combo a bit expensive.
Ordered the seafood milky broth noodle bowl. The soup base was quite good with plenty of toppings. Better value than bubble waffle
It was... interesting. I ordered the fish Gua Bao and I wasnt a fan of it. The fish just seemed a little soggy. Maybe next time Ill try the pork belly one. The popcorn chicken was very good tho!
Parking: Paid parking at the mall leads directly to the food court Food
Best Fried Rice. Must try!
Ordered twice so far, both rice combos. Overall we are very happy. Generous portion, good value and good taste (compare to the rest of the food court). I do notice their add-on dessert has already increase price since the last time we visited a week ago, while understandable with inflation, we do hope they maintain the good value they offer long after their opening.
The food was nice and spicy but the service was so slow. None of the daily specials were on the kiosk up front. The staff were more focused on delivery pickups
Since the place has the word bao in its name, I thought getting bao was a good idea, but they also have a few other dishes on the menu. So I went with a Pork belly bao and popcorn chicken combo. At first sight, I was disappointed with the popcorn chicken as it looked pretty dry, but thankfully I was wrong, and it turned out to be great. Bao had a pretty impressive pork belly slice and tasted absolutely delicious. As for the food court food, this place exceeded my expectations.
Got the popcorn chicken with fried rice combo. Rice looked like plain rice with a few white onions in it. Chicken was very fatty tasting. Not worth jt
This is what their dumplings look like once I got home. Didnt look like the pan fried dumplings they had on their menu. Pictures dont lie. You decide how they were cooked
The food here is actually amazingly good. I personally like number 2 and number 4. Their hot milk tea is pretty good. And their chicken gyoza taste good and it s actually pan fried. The people there are all very nice. The service is good.
Came here couple times. Good package for take out. Service was fast and food was so yummy. Best popcorn chicken I lately had. Fish Bao also very delicious. Highly recommend.
Good portion and price. Service is good too. I like it.
The whole stinky tofu is sour inside. I called the store and asked them if the tofu itself tastes sour? ? ? ? I have never heard of tofu like this! The point is that the sourness of the ingredients itself is completely different from the bad sourness. The stores statement is too far-fetched and they dont think it needs to be improved. This is a really bad experience for my first purchase. I don t recommend it and I won t buy it again.
food was delicious !! I got the popcorn chicken (made spicy) with the chow mein and i loved it! i get really nervous to try a new restaurant because i worry about not liking it but the cashier was really nice and helpful when i was trying to decide on what to get! definitely coming back again
The chicken #1 with fried rice is incredible. Worth the slightly higher price over the other places in the mall especially that it comes with a drink in the meal. The portion is also very generous.
I had the pork bao combo. I loved it! It is traditional Taiwanese flavor that I miss from home. My friend had the chicken nugget fried rice and it was excellent! Even better than ones in Richmond. Combo comes with a drink and mango dessert. Great value even for food court. Definitely coming back for more!
Surprisingly good ingredients
Everytime i go eat lunch at the food court. I always end up eating at this store. Super tasty Taiwanese food at a very reasonable price. They also have frozen packages of food for the days you crave it but dont want to leave the house. Highly recommended.
Its been a while for not dining out and go to international village! This new Taiwanese eatery has perfect chicken steak! Crispy, super juicy and big in size with sufficient amount of salt and pepper seasoning. Personally I dont like popcorn chicken but friends said that tasted exactly the one in Taiwan. Those who miss Taiwan should pay a visit. The milk tea is original taste as in Taiwan. Nothing fancy but authentic! Definitely will go again for the Taiwanese beef noodle. It looks great
They have really good brisket in noodle soup
Incredibly delicious food made with care, great portion size and value too. Will keep returning!! Thus far Ive tried the chicken nugget curry and rice, the chicken Mala, and crispy fish bao, along with lemon tea and milk tea - all have been delectable. Kudos to the wonderful proprietors who make and serve their food with love.
The fried chicken is sooooo good. Love it!!
When 80% of your coworkers are Chinese and they talk about how good a restaurants beef noodle soup is, that says something. One of the best local Taiwanese eats for sure.
Honestly - this was THE BEST meal (any type of food) that my partner and I have had in MONTHS. We are both huge foodies and love various ethnic foods in particular, and this was absolutely something special. What an absolute gem in the middle of a food court - this was absolutely restaurant quality food, and honestly better than most restaurants I ve visited in the last year in Vancouver for such a great price. My partner and I each had an order of the chicken nuggets with rice (pictured, $10) - UNREAL. Chicken was hot and incredibly tasty & tender, rice was so flavourful, and it came with really unique sides. We also ordered the pork belly bao buns ($11)- I totally forgot to take a picture and I m sad because I actually almost cried happy tears it was SO GOOD. Traditional and yet unique flavours, textures - the order came with 2 and they were huge!! They have an amazing promotion on right now where each meals comes with one of their drinks!! So we got to try both their honey lemon juice, and their milk tea (50 cents extra) - again, both unreal. Partner doesn t typically like milk tea and he said this was the best he s ever had a and there honey drink has the best delicious, refreshing, genuine honey flavour it was so unique. Everything was presented SO beautifully, and there was way more detail than I ve ever seen for something so reasonably priced and from a food court! The two staff working were so friendly and were so attentive to us - even coming around and bringing out a to-go bag for us when they noticed we hadn t finished all of our food! Food took about 10 minutes, as a new batch of rice was cooking, but they made sure we were okay with waiting when we ordered - didn t mind waiting at all because the food was so fresh & hot! Will absolutely be back!! Can t wait to try more things on the menu!
Best Taiwan restaurants in Vancouver. Highly recommended
Very small portion (about half of what Bao it should be). Dough had dried out and been sticking to the wrapping paper. Pork belly is deadly salty.
Nice to find a new restaurant open in International Village. I had a boiling fish combo including a set of black tea and dessert. The taste is good.
Good quality food at a good price. A nicer option if you re eating in the food court. Flavours were great, fairly large portions, and the food was fresh. Combos come with a refreshing honey lemon drink and a mango panna cotta.
Ordered the popcorn chicken here and its delicious! Hot and super juicy, it was still crispy and very flavourful. A great snack to have, or you can get the meal option they have as well on the menus. Fantastic choice!
Friendly service, excellent! Fresh and tasty food, impressive considering the location in the food court. I can definitely tell they go above and beyond for their customers.
One of the hidden gems at the international village mall, really amazing and tasty food, fully recommended!!
found upstairs in the food court at international village . the seasoning was good
Reasonable price, lovely food, Ill want to try every Taiwanese food there. But its a pity that the drink is too sweet.
Great experience - friendly service, love the chicken nuggets! and there is this awesome $10 meal w/ drink deal going on. Definitely will be back. :)
Glorious is right! This place is a hidden gem tucked away in a shady food court. Dont let the area dissuade you, this is definitely worth a visit. The food was spicy, fresh and made to order. I loved the mango pudding that comes with the combo (made with all milk according to the lovely lady working there today) but the tea was a little too sweet for my personal taste. Overall, I would say this place has great value and quality so I will definitely be back for lunch. Thank you!
Other reviews are right. This is food prepared at restaurant level of quality, offered at food court prices. I was shocked by how simple egg fried rice could taste so light, yet flavorful. This is clearly cooked by a skilled chef. Had the chicken nugget combo, and will certainly try other menu options soon. Personally would prefer some veg-based sides than the fries. Otherwise, cannot complain.
Nothing special at first but room to grow. Tried them out during the soft opening before Christmas and service was incredibly slow (it wasnt actually busy). The steamed baos were fine but there are better options. Hopefully 2020 is better because this is a highly competitive area, especially with so many choices to eat in the area.
Students must try this! On my 10 dollers i am satisfies with my chicken fried rice with a small portion of fries and lots of chicken and chewy fried rice with this sealed cold tea drink. Taste very good it catches my asian taste a five star for this restaurant!
Nice find in the International Village Mall food court. Next time you are attending an event at Rogers or BC Place, make a stop here if you have a hankering for baos filled with succulent pork belly or crispy chicken. This place isnt gonna be a secret gem much longer given the line ups at lunchtime. A great combo deal served with daily drink and dessert (mango panacotta) for $11.45. Their house specialty is Taiwanese seasoned fried chicken. Very tender and lots of flavour! They also have a daily combo special for $10. The staff is very genuine and kind which made the whole experience quite Glorious indeed (pun intended). Give them a try, they are among several new additions to the revamped food court at this mall.
A place that actually tastes as good as the pictures look
Delicious food. Waited around 2 minutes for my food. Very large portion and very tasty. I got the combo 3b pineapple chicken on rice. 12.59 after tax for pineapple chicken, rice, little tofu, little veggies, ice tea and a mango pana cotta
Very decent Taiwanese food! The popcorn chicken was pretty delicious and came with big portion! The soup dumpling was very juicy and tasty. They warmed me that it would take 15 mins for the soup dumpling but I waited for like 20 mins. Totally worth the waiting! The pork in the gua bao was amazing tasty. I will go back again!
