I was so disappointed with the service we received . We were meeting friends here that had not seen in a long time and were looking forwards to a nice dinner with friends kind night. we came in for dinner at around 7:30 and went in because we saw on the doors their hours were until 10pm. At just about 9pm we were told the restaurant was closing and had to cut our plans short. The food was so disappointing too. My fiend ordered the chicken parm and the pasta was most definitely cooked with jarred pasta sauce. Most def not worth the price. My kids ordered the fish and chips but the fish was so greasy they just couldn t eat it. For desert we ordered cheesecake and tiramisu. We had to send one of the cheesecake servings back because basically the bottom half was missing. The server noticed for sure but she still served it that way anyways. The tiramisu was definitely not tiramisu. It was basically a layer of thin cake with piles of cream and a chocolate drizzle that tasted like cheap chocolate syrup . There were things on the menu we wanted but they were not available. It s too bad, the restaurant was actually nice and clean but the food was so disappointing and the service not great.

Food was great, service was fast once we got seated. Had to wait 15 min for a table. Kids had eggs, I had chicken fingers, too many to eat.

The food is tasteless, the pancakes are so dry that they can be used as a trivet.

We were with a big group,service was really slow.

The pizza was a really good new addition, but the service was really slow, and they kept forgetting things we asked for. With the restaurant essentially empty, this was inexcusable.

After 75 mins waiting, I didnt receive the spend $20 get free brekkie bowl promotion despite it showing in the order summary before I hit submit. no matter what i explain ubereats will not resolve this. they are saying its the merchant but no way to contact merchant via ubereats. Absolutely unacceptable service.

long wait time to be seated and for food to arrive, when my breakfast bowl did arrive it was cold and the server brought two servings of white toast instead of my one sourdough which i asked for. best part was the free creamer cups. not worth the price at all

This breakfast & lunch diner will not disappoint you. Everything from the delightful Hostess/Waitress who greeted us so pleasantly to the wonderful, tasty, generous meal to the very clean atmosphere and washrooms just made for a great morning! I have eaten at other Rickys locations in the past, but this fairly new Solo District restaurant is now my favourite of them all. Great food, competitive prices, lovely service in a beautiful location, what more can you ask for? My personal recommend is the chicken and waffles, SOOOOO satisfying .

My colleague and I always come here for lunch and sometimes dinner as its located just steps away from where we work. Theres a large variety of food with their breakfast, lunch and dinner menus that we always enjoy. The staff are always good to us, which keeps bringing us back to our regular go to place

Food is okay, but its nothing special to cry home about for the price. Servers were friendly, and while we were quick to be acknowledged, we still stood around a bit before being seated. Atmosphere and vibe wise, its a typical Rickys diner, though there was a noticeably large pane of smashed exterior glass, which was quite unsightly/ghetto. While sevice was friendly, it took around 40 mins for our food to get to us (4 entrees). Ill give them the benefit of the doubt, given its a busy Saturday morning, though Id still say this is still a stretch (there were still empty tables, we didnt modify or get fancy with what we ordered); its probably better to come in a smaller group (1-2 people). I didnt take any photos this time because of the wait, I wanted to eat quickly and go on with my day, though food did look appealing. FYI, you can redeem 2 hours of parking when you pay your bill if you park in the parkade. Youll need to purchase 2 hours at the machines.

Got in and was told to sit for a table, no wait what do ever. After a few more people started to walk in a 2 top, 3 top and another 2 top. No reservations nothing, same as me and my partner. We were ignored twice. Then told they were searching for our table. Unacceptable, how do you skip two people that were there before others.

This place has the best fish & chips I have ever tasted. Definitely worth it for everyone. And the dessert... phenomenal. Yesterday, I went there again and tried a plate of fettuccine alfredo, and by holy Sweet Christmas, it was the best pasta I have ever tasted. This restaurant deserves a recommendation.

We ordered a breakfast there. 1- I found a tiny hair in my eggs. 2- I think someone dropped the full bottle of yeast in the pancakes, taste was awful and impossible to cut. I do not recommend for breakfast, eventho the prices are pretty low.

Ordered for delivery a famous original burger with added fried egg, maple bacon, sautéed mushrooms and pepper jack cheese with extra tomato and extra pickles with extra mayonnaise and poutine and paid $9.00 extra for the additional toppings that I never got .!!!! The burger had no fried egg no maple bacon no sautéed mushrooms no tomato no pickles My poutine had lots of fries and a little bit of gravy and no cheese very disappointed in the quality of service

Avoid picking up your Uber eats from this place. They must be understaffed because the one worker who greets people running around all over the place. Our small order of a 1 wrap, 1 burger, and fries was projected to be 15 min before ordering, then it updated to 30 minutes after placing it, but in reality took 50 minutes. Don t waste your time like I did

Food was decent, but our water had black things floating in it, and they gave us a coffee cup that had lipstick on it. Would not go back

No indication on the website or the Google page that breakfast is NOT served all day. Drove out from Surrey, paid $8 for parking and decided to go to another restaurant after the server said no breakfast in the evening.

There was virtually nothing open during Christmas, and we remembered from the last year that this place was open. Upon arrival, we could see that the place was really busy, and the gentleman who looked like the owner was trying his best to seat everyone. Our server was Susan, very busy but friendly and again trying her best to do her job without being fussed or annoyed with customers. We asked for things, and she would deliver as prompt as she could, given how hectic the place was. Food was typical diner style and heaps. We enjoyed it. But again. I think this place has been highly enjoyable for all the staff working during Christmas day so others can have lazy brunch.

Sorry, I cant see why any Rickys gets more than one or two stars. Ok the concept and staff and kid friendliness are pretty good......but sorry folks, the food is just not up to snuff, in fact its bad. Always greasy and the grease tastes very very old. I have tried now four times........and its never a good meal, just kind of gross. The execs at Rickys should actually go to dine from time to time. (And I know why they do not, and obviously they do not ever). Enough said. Get the food quality up team........way up please. Kid-friendliness: They have crayons, chests and kid friendly perks.

They have a kids menu, which is really nice and fairly accommodating. Also, there are often crayons and stuff to colour for the kids, and after the meal, there is a treasure box. Honestly, its hands down better than most restaurants in this regards. The fact that my kid can get crayons and something to color, 4 pancakes, 2 slices of bacon, an egg, a glass of juice, a bag of fruit gummies AND open a treasure chest and get a toy for $8?! Great service. Good food. Nothing boujie and reasonable prices.

Second time I ve been to this restaurant in a month where the bathrooms have no toilet paper and I mean each of the 4 bathrooms they have .there s always dirty paper towels on the floor and clearly shows how lazy the staff is. Further to this point is the fact that our server took approximately 20 min just to take our order. Only two other tables were there so they were not busy at all. Pretty sure we were ignored so that she could talk in the kitchen with her co workers. I could hear the staff in the back talking loudly while no one was being helped. Will not be back to this location.

I have been here several times, and nearly always get a huge breakfast. I love the chorizo sausage option. The service is great, and one of the servers recognizes me and my friend, which is always nice. Ive also had the Thanksgiving Turkey meal, delicious. Last time, I decided to get an omelet instead of my usual brekkie. It was very tasty. When Im in Burnaby, this is my go to place.

Possibly the best cheesesteak melt Ive had, portion included. Bravo. Chicken in the Alfredo had nutmeg and it was weird. Other than that, a solid meal.

Havnt had an egg benny with fully cooked yolk. What a disappointment!

The time I spent there was amazing.. I was in need for a place to set me a little notebook and cup of tea to send some proposals.. tables extremely clean!!! extra pointss for it. Great Wifi service, 1/4lb burger lunch deal is greeat value.. burger is juicy and well built. cheers for the kitchen staff. and a special cheer for Susan, who assisted me for the time I spent there with hot water and always paying attention if I needed something. 10/10 for this visit..

We went in because all the other brunch places near the area had long waitlists, unlike Ricky s which had no line at all. And after a few minutes of dining in, we quickly realized why that was. From the start the serve seemed very unorganized and didn t have much knowledge about the menu. We ordered the Traditional Bennies and the Berry Pancakes, and BOTH were a huge disappointment. When the food arrived one of the dishes were wrong, so I pointed that out to the server, which lead to them having to make adjustments to one dish leaving the pancakes to become cold. The owners should really focus on making a lot of improvements in order to meet average standards, both by improving service and the quality of their food.

Gotta say this location has been pretty consistent with every visit we ve had with them. Customer service is courteous, polite, accommodating, and not overly in your face like other establishments. Food has arrived hot, tasty, properly seasoned, and presented well. We ve dined in and taken out on numerous occasions. Definitely a restaurant to consider if you are in the area.

I came here with my husband for breakfast. The food was great and the portion size was large. The server, Maria was awesome, (believe she is from Laos) was very attentive with our needs, she was great in asking us how we were doing so far and if we needed anything else, she is such an asset to your company. I noticed that she had a good rapport with her other customers as well, people come back for your great service, clean and pleasant atmosphere. Thanks to Maria, our server, we now know where to park also. All in all it was a great experience and we would definitely be back.

The shredded potatoes in the omelet were not crunchy at all, they were slightly burnt. Rest of the omelet is fine. Tomato and basil soup was okay. Chorizo bowl was very subpar.

They food was cooked very well. The presentation was nice and the quality was very good. I have eaten from them multiple times. I have had there breakfast French toast,eggs and bacon.I have had their vanilla milkshake, both the 4 cheese and tomato soup, as well the rose pasta dish. The service was awesome and timely to boot. Food was good. I had the pulled pork benny and my partner had the shrimp po boy. The benny was a little rich for my tastes, but was still good though. Service was... Nonexistent. We had to search out staff to put through our orders and then to pay. The person who Sat beside us was Sat after us, ordered just before us, got their food, ate their food, paid and then left before we got our food. Overall, was not a great experience. Probably will not go again.

Had a few pieces from the brunch menu delivered on a relaxed Sunday afternoon. This food was phenomenal. A true masterpiece in brunch time cuisine. And for it to be delivered without losing its quality was outstanding. 12/10 all round. Not to be missed.

Horrible service.

The service here is disgusting. We came to this location in the past and the service wasn t amazing but we wanted to give it another shot because maybe it was just an off day and everyone deserves a second chance. We tried but ended up leaving before we were even seated. As soon as we walked through the door my girlfriend went and sat at the bench closest to the hostess station to wait while I stood. A man which I assumed to be the manager or supervisor began heading in our direction and as he s doing this another couple walks in. We expected to be greeted by him but instead he tells me to please sit down and passes us to speak with the other couple. They ask for a booth and he proceeds to ignore that we were there first and says no problem and off he goes. As he s getting there table ready, we re just hoping maybe they already have one for us. I mean I know most people want a booth unless they cannot fit in one comfortably. But nope, in this moment is when we realize we do not have a table ready for us because a hostess comes and tells us to just wait (Still no welcome greeting) and proceeds to seat the other couple. The husband was kind enough to stop midway and tell the host that we were there before them but because his wife already went to the table it s even more awkward so we told him it s not his fault and to just have a seat and thanked him for trying. It s not his fault his wife or the restaurant has no courtesy. We were confused at first because any person whose worked in customer service for a long time knows that you greet everyone when they arrive (even if you can t seat them right away) and that you also seat people in the order they come unless they have a reservation (which we found out they didn t). You passed a non-white couple to seat a white couple. I would like to think it was just bad customer service and was not racially motivated but the fact that it felt that way is bad enough. Irregardless of race, this would ruin anyone s experience at a restaurant. This establishment made us feel super uncomfortable so of course after a couple of more minutes of waiting, we decided to leave. The manager tried to yell for us when we were leaving but while he was still out on the floor..which again is super unprofessional If you want amazing customer service then don t bother coming to this location. My girlfriend worked at a Ricky s growing up and in restaurants, there is absolutely no excuse for this. Extremely disappointed.

Food and server was great. Lack of staff though. Manager running around bearly finding his ground. I m quite surprise how the restaurant was worn out for only being open for a couple of years. All furniture over used paint chipped. Bring back man and women washroom and stop disrespecting women. Women need a clean place and not to mention kids.

Ricks cafe shop is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious breakfast. The breakfast bowl and waffle big breakfast are both excellent choices, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The service is top-notch, with super fast and attentive waitresses who are able to take care of the entire floor - special kudos to Maria who was great. Overall, Ricks cafe shop is a fantastic spot for a satisfying and enjoyable breakfast experience. Highly recommended!

My husband had cravings for pancakes and we live in Mission, so that morning we were too far from home. Google came up with this place for a pancakes breakfast. My only issue is that the breakfasts with pancakes are too large. The smallest with pancakes I found were 2 pancakes, 2 strips of bacon, 2 Saussages, 2 slices of toast, 2 eggs. I think that if there was a smaller breakfast with 2 pancakes and 2 eggs THAT would be enough for a senior. Neither of us could finish our breakfasts and we took home a box with leftovers. The lady who looked after us is wonderful, super kind, efficient and a very pleasant lady to have around, the atmosphere was perfect I just say seniors cannot eat as much as 30 years ago seniors portions would be greatly appreciated

Great service tons of food

Awful, food was bland burnt and not worth your money or time. Staff was all on their phones or just not paying attention and hiding in the back . Do not get breakfast stick to burgers if you do go.

Order enough times and youll understand the reason behind the 1 star ratings. Unluckily for me, this was my 2nd time ordering takeout/pickup and will be my last. Ordered on Ubereats and arrived at the store 5 minutes past the estimated ready for pickup time. Walked inside and there were two other people awaiting their orders. No acknowledgement from the staff. 5 minutes in, I flagged down a server and she brushes me off with your order is packing in which I responded I havent told you my order yet. She continues to walk away. Thought to myself that theyre busy and if its on the way then its on the way. 20 minutes later, everyone else before me has left (some whom have placed their orders AFTER I did) and I flag a server again informing her that Im still waiting for my order. Brushes me off once again saying theyre packing. Out comes another order and goes to another person whom arrived later I did. 5 minutes later, I was able to flag the server down again and they finally do a check on my order and inform me that they dont have my order and walks away. I kid you not. Why did they not check when I tried to engage them when I first arrived? There also wasnt any follow up informing me whether theyll now be making my order or if I have to contact Ubereats and cancel it. There is absolutely 0 service here. They refuse to engage in any sort of customer service or conversation. In total I waited about 40 minutes past the original estimated pick up time before my order was finally ready. Got home and my order is missing chicken tenders......

They re running together with Famoso from now on. We tried Prociutto Arugula and Margarita pizza. The dough were puff puff and the pizza is very delicious. Location is very easy to find and place is bright and spacious.

Ive been a longtime fan of Ricky s, considering it one of my top spots but was disappointed with my recent order. The fish and chips were oily and had a bitter taste, possibly due to a poorly cleaned stove top. This falls below the usual high standard I associate with Ricky s. I hope this issue can be addressed promptly.

Terrible food. The scrambled egg was dried af. Waffle is soggy. The only upside about this place is the selection and quantities of jam and the nice service.

I usually love Rickys restaurants but our meal here was not good at all. My stomach didnt feel good after either. Also, I left a fair tip but not a huge one since service and food were lacking, and the waiter seemed annoyed by that. Not sure what the deal is at this location but it doesnt seem up to the usual standards.

The first time I visited this place was about 3 weeks ago. There were 3 of us on a weekend so the wait was about 40 minutes, no problem. We ordered 2 breakfasts to share and still have leftovers to go. The price is unbeatable and the food is great. I visited this place again about a week later with my brother and this time no wait at all as this is during weekday. Service in both times are excellent as we had the same waitress both time but she didnt recognize me, ha ha. Anyway the food again was excellent and plentiful. I smart up and order a smaller entree this time. With the demise of IHOP on Kingsway, this now will be my go to breakfast joint.

I went there with my family for the breakfast. It is a nice cozy place with courteous staff. The service was good but a little delayed with a full house. Their traditional bunnies are yummy and we liked it so much that we ordered another one. The stacked waffles were yummy too. Overall a nice place and Ill surely visit this place again.

Pleasant staff.. tasty food. A nice experience

One of the best comfort food restaurants in the neighbourhood. We had several meals by both dining in and to-go, and Rickys always satisfy our taste bar, which gets only higher from the repeating orders. One tip; you can order lettuce wraps when you order some burgers if want to feel healthy:D

Had a skipthedishes order where the Stuffed Brioche French Toast only came with two barely dipped french toast and whipped cream, with NONE of the fruits or stuffed items. Very disappointing.

Current review. Haven t been for awhile. Great food (chicken avocado omelet & green tea) and super service. $22.87 before gratuity. Previous review. Close to home. Chicken (fried), waffle & bacon. Plus green tea. Service good. $20 bill a bit too high though. Like way they do chicken (moist inside).

We came in because OEB was full. Usually when Im really hungry, any food I eat would taste good. Not at Rickys. I ordered the ultimate chaffle (keto waffle) as well as hash brown with chorizo sausage. The taste was bland, and the waffle came cold. The stuffed chorizo hashbrown came with 3 nickel sized pieces of meat, so I guess you could call that stuffed? All in all I would avoid. Make an omelette at home and save yourself a quick trip to disappointment-ville.

It was unusually slow due to a staffing shortage but they made it right for us in the end. Fantastic food and great prices.

Have aten here various times because of family. The food is good for most part, and if its burnt or something they fix it. My only complaint would be lack of cleanliness. Cups and cutlery are dirty sometimes.

I came here with my family since our usual Rickys Homestyle restaurant which was blocks away closed. I am a little sad the other location closed. The hostess and our server were both very kind and attentive. The food was great. I appreciate the two hours free parking when you dine there. Just provide your parking receipt and they credit your bill the two dollars. They also have a treasure chest with choice of toy for children when you order a childrens meal.

I regularly come here with my family on Fridays or Saturdays, we are mostly on Suzan s table. It s a really must try place all the staffs are friendly, the food and coffee is marvellous and the location is great. I also really love coming by myself every Mondays since it s not too rush can concentrate and do my work with relaxation which is great and also I love to meet the two best friends servers (love their bond). They are not just friendly but they treat you really well and seeing this on mondays soothes me from stress. I do really recommend to try this restaurant out! Peace!

This is a cozy restaurant. The service is good compared to the price range, and there is no unnecessary food in terms of taste or quantity. Honestly, its a much more satisfying place than OEB.

Well the food is very nice actually, its a nice place to dine, but next time would be better to know before ordering that you are short staffed and will take longer to get your food, waiting over an hour for a burger for one person is not a good thing to do

Service was incredibly slow, and they seemed to have only one person one each task- one person taking orders, one person bringing our food, one person cooking, etc. The table next to us had a party of 10 and they received their food two people at a time, with 3-5 mins between. After ordering we waited 45 mins for our food to come. Quite a frustrating experience from start to finish.

I have no idea why I gave so many chances to this place...the burger, the lasagna, even the salad! the missed items I ordered when delivery... I have no clue why they have such a high rating on Google..im guessing all these reviewers were al liqoured up before they ordered.. New comers beware. Quality of the food does not match the price. Might as well goto the nearest supermarket and get it frozen and save 90% of your hard earned cash!! Ps. To the cooks....have you not heard of TOO much salt?

Very large breakfasts!

I was allergic to tomatoes and my burger still got a tomato. I ordered french onion soup and it was so cold that the cheese hadnt melted. They tried to charge me for the soup anyway... With no discount on my burger even though they almost sent me to the hospital. Food was so gross I could hardly eat it. Sent the soup back.

Ricky s is always great. I ended up having avocado omelette. One word, delicious . Place was packed but servers did an amazing job taking care of all the customers. Food looked exactly like in the picture. Parking could be a problem but they validate it. Highly recommended

We are long time customers of Rickys especially the Boundary Road location. But, with this new one we visited once. Server was excellent but product was disgusting. Cold, flavourless, and poorly presented. We will not be back...

Ordered through a delivery service. All my requests were followed and the food tasted great. Their turkey club is so delicious!! Get it with a side of cranberry sauce 10/10 recommend

Normal breakfast place was supprised how small of a waffle you get for 15$ And its just a waffle no fruit nothing And to top it off also got the Benny And the watches did not do the wiggle test before serving it The egg was like snot the white was even supper runny Had to send it back to be re made into the correct order medium Living in the city there our definitely better breakfast joints out there But if you want basic and easy this is your place

This is my favorite place for brunch delivery. Most delivery places on this side of Vancouver are meh. Rickys Cafe is totally worth it. Compliments to the chef (s).

Omg. This was an awesome find. I got delivery as I am recovering from COVID and I only have half of my taste back but I cannot wait to try this again with 100% of my taste back. Amazing food. Super soft chicken, Nicely spiced. This has to be the best fish and chips Ive ever had!! Awesome!!

Wait for 35 minutes, no drink and no forks. After my food came, I need to stranded up and went to waitress to ask the forks. I ordered chicken and avocado omelette, it is cold. The bread tasted really bad. Not recommended. Bad service.

Food was good. Warm, could of been served hotter feel it sat in kitchen waiting for all meals to bring it out. Service wasnt great, or just lack of servers. Plates sat for 25mins and never cleared from our table before we left. Vegetarian options: Not many options in my opinion.

Paid $20 - got 1 stripe of bacon, half of the mushroom, one spoon of veggie, but tons of eggs. Not sure if it worth it? Edit - pancakes were actually good. Just remove your omelette works from the menu or add more stuff to it. Longed for more bacon/meat and veggies.

Food was fine. The restuarant was very warm but they did turn on the A/C when asked. The big issue was the young hostess that sat us at our table had the worst body odor Ive experienced in some time

Came here for brunch during the Saturday rush at around 11, when the wait for OEB nearby was estimated at around 2.5 hours for a table for 2. It was a bit dark inside, but we got seated at a high table almost right away. The servers were friendly and service was good. We ordered the avocado toast (avocado toast with dry greens and 1 poached egg) and the classic double egger (scrambled eggs, hash browns, ham, toast). Both meals were okay but the scrambled eggs were more like a sliced up omelette and the toast was a little on the stale side. The hash-browns were most likely instant out of a box. They were cold and had a sickening artificial butter flavour to them, so we couldn t eat them. Coffee was delicious and we were offered re-fills, but overall, the food was meh so I probably wouldn t return.

We had gotten into the restaurant by 6:20pm. We had ordered our food and drinks by 6:25pm. It was not busy in the restaurant.. only 6 tables were there... with 2 servers, and a manager standing in the corner. We ordered a coke, and the Liver & Onions, and the Pork Schnitzel. We then proceeded to have a long wait for everything. We got the coke relatively right away. But by the time it was past 7:00pm, it had been 40 minutes, of no food, we also did not get any refills, or any type of service at all. We were forgotten about. They were serving others slowly but ignoring our attempts at getting their attention. At the 40 minute mark, my husband went to go try and inquire of what was going on with our food, and he was just repeatedly told its coming. But still no refill of our drinks. We did not get our food till 7:13pm. A almost 50 minute wait for our food. It then took us about 15 minutes to get the bill and a takeout box.. and they still forgot the takeout box. After we paid and was packing our food, the workers proceeded to hide in the back or something because we didnt see em on the floor as we were getting ready to leave. Never had such a horrible service before

The waitress was friendly and deficient the food however was not the best my fries came cold my turkey felt kind of Frozen in the middle of it and I asked she she brought back new fries but they look like they were leftover and refried again and it tasted double nasty prices were way too high for the quality of the food

I go to this place every weekend. Food is great, and service is outstanding. If you are lucky, Susan will look after you....she is amazing....quick, pleasant to talk to....best server ever......the other lady there is also fantastic. Serice amazing and food is great...I am always there for breakfast. Check it out

The fettuccine Alfredo is a bit dry, both the chicken and the lack of sauce. But I came in an hour before closing so that might not be the best time. Theyre very gracious to let us stay and did, at no time, rush us to close. Parking: Careful as they allocated a lot of spots to Modo the car share.
