FUSION Chinese Kitchen with SOJU WE LIKE YOU, WE LOVE SOJU *2 Hours of Free parking π
We arrived right when a large dinner party was leaving, so we had to wait quite a while to get seated, for someone to take our order, and for water to arrive. Otherwise, the food was amazingly cheap for how much you received! We also received extra ice cream at the end for the trouble.
I google map to come here and it is very hard to find it because the restaurant entrance is not facing Kingsway Burnaby. This location was a coffee shop before. I came at 9pm it's empty and I don't have to wait. I was surprised that they didn't have Manu you need to scan it and for me it was hard to see it because I only have one eye. However, the waiter was very nice to offer suggestions for how to order. I ordered Mango Prawns and Spicy Beef Noodles. It was not much of mango and the prawns deep fried very hard to eat but my husband like it. The noodle was very good not instant noodle and the soup is perfect. I will come back and I highly recommend to eat here.
The service was excellent, they frequently checked on us despite being busy. Itβs rare to see an owner and staff who care so much about their customers. Theyβre always there to assist you before you even ask for help. The food was just as good as we expected.
Solid place to get Korean food , me and my friends came here for dinner and had a pretty good time. There prices are really good for some of the items like the black bean noodle and bulgogi(which was really good) for only ten bucks. We also tried their fried chicken which was like okay , the cheesling flavor dosent have enough cheese but the honey garlic sauce was super bomb. The chicken batter was also a little too hard and instead of crispy it felt more like over fried. I also had there donkatsu meal a few times and I totally reccomend that meal set. Service is good and the staff did their job. Inside is nice , clean and looks good with the soju and teal color scheme.
The food was so good that I came back twice in one week and the portions are a good size also. The Stir fry beef was really good, the mango cream shrimp is literally one of the best things Iβve tasted, the sweet and sour wasnβt my favorite but I personally just donβt like sweet and sour things. The Jjampong was my personal favorite, I had it both times but my friend says that the Jajang was good too, and the ice cream at the end is the best part. The service was amazing, our server Tae was so helpful and attentive. The vibes and atmosphere were lovely with Kpop hits all round. No complaints whatsoever. Will definitely be back a third time soon.
The food are not the best. But the price is reasonable. We had a combo with 2 noodles for like $50? It includes 2 ice creams in the end. taste is okay.
The combo for 2 food portions were perfect however the spring rolls included felt a bit out of place. The sweet and sour pork and jajangmyeon was delicious.
The place was recommended by a good friend, the food is amazing π I would highly recommend the Jajangmyeon and the mango prawn! The staff that assists us throughout the whole time is so accommodating and gives us some complementary drinks as well! Overall, the experience is superb! I would highly recommend this place!
Good portion, nice place to gather and have soju.
Nice fusion Korean restaurant. Toasty food and reasonable prices. I went for lunch with a friend and had a good time.
Our new #1 place to go for Jajangmyeon! Excellent taangsuyook and jaampong too. Highly recommended!
So, for anyone wanting to go to SOJU for well, soju, you re better off going to get it at a local wine and spirits store. It s not clear when you walk in: you have to order food with your soju. The food, for the price, is very subpar. The fried rice was barely fried, under seasoned, and I d almost say undercooked. There are a lot of other dining options in the area, please pursue those and get soju ala carte; you ll thank yourself later.
The place it s good but only 1 server for the entire place make the wait time too long, we have to wait for the bill almost 30 minutes! Same thing with the drinks and food.
We got take out orders for the honey garlic chicken and grilled smoky pork rib, they were so good! The chicken had a lot of sauce and was crispy, and the pork was so tender and flavourful. Wed love to come back and dine in. The orders took 20 minutes to cook and the staff were super nice and let us sit in the restaurant and even gave us some spring rolls which were golden, crunchy, and light.
sincerity Its so tasteless... . Especially Jjajangmyeon 3-minute jjajang is delicious .;;; The amount is cheap, so its at least okay, but the taste is a bit;;; I don t think it will come;;
Don t go
Dont come here if you want traditional Chinese-korean food. jajangmyeon was pretty average, if not slightly below average because of the meat, and the portion side really reflects its price, i.e., small. The only thing that the tangsuyuk and kkangpungi had that were similar to the original is the sauce, except that the tangsuyuk has a bit too much lemon, and the kkangpungi sauce was like a curry hybrid. The tangsuyuk had a tiny amount of beef with a very thick layer of maybe spring roll wrappers that made it very uncomfortable to eat. The kkangpungi had a sliver of chicken, Im talking like 2 cm of a chopstick amount of chicken, covered in enough batter to make it look like the size of the original. The batter also seemed like the meat glue in the shrimp ball in dimsum restaurants. It didnt even have a separate coating on the outside, so it was the same gummy texture all the way through.
Jjangmyeon is really good - one of the best with good price. Plenty of seating too.
The owner very nice and cheerful, and the food is delicious. Kid-friendliness: Owner is a very kind and cheerful family person who makes the place feel like home. Food : 5/5 |
I dont know how more people arent going to this hidden gem. Literally the food tastes so good and is so affordable and portion sizes are amazing. Ive taken almost all of my friends here and every single one of them is blown away by how good things have been. Highly recommend it and highly recommend trying out the food bonus points for being open late.
Delicious food, fast for a restaurant, and super friendly service. Best value is a combo.
The staff are super sweet and welcoming, made us feel very comfortable. The food was delicious and great portions for the price. Being open late is fantastic and much appreciated. Definitely will be coming back soon!
A Korean-style pocha atmosphere The types of alcohol are also trendy. The portions are plentiful and the taste seems to be better than other Chinese restaurants in nearby Metro Vancouver. Very trendy Korean Pocha vibe from K drama. Their dishes portions are really big and taste is same as authentic Chinese style Korean food I had back in my country, Korea.
Love coming into this place, the food is always delicious, they have good prices with large portions. We always end up taking home leftovers. They have so many flavours of Soju, the yogourt one is the best!
Great food, great price, and excellent service. The owners are super friendly. Dinner special is totally a steal. This place is close to our home and we visit it regularly. Recommending the jajang noodles and spicy seafood noodles. Their fried chicken is also very delicious!
The jajang was very tasty! Friendly staff and affordable prices. Will be visiting again soon!
I found a place where Jjajangmyeon is delicious. I havent tried Jjambbong or anything else yet, but I will try it next time and leave a review. Very tasty Jja jang myun place! I haven t tried other food yet but I will definitely try the other food next time.
Great variety of food and drinks at affordable prices.
Deep fried sweet and sour pork was rancid... Smelled like vomit and was not deep fried, it was very mushy. Dont recommend, go to 88 Noodle instead!!!
Best place in Burnaby where food and drinks are affordable. My friend and I had a great experience. :))
The place is friendly and food is great
Great spot. Awesome food. I get the soju bomb every time
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. New gem found in Vancouver!
My friends and I love this place! Best black bean noodles in BC and the mango cream prawns are so good The service was also great!!
The sweet and sour chicken was really good and jjajangmyeon was flavoured well. Jjambong was not too salty, broth was really good. I thought it was reasonably priced and i would definitely come again!
Soju is where I always head to when I don t know what to eat. The food was amazing and the owner was so cute. Highly recommended
It is the first time I come to Soju it is a place with very nice service and give many drink options. Soju is the best!
It was better than I thought it would be lol tastes good
Good choice for someone looking for late dinner .
This place is so funky and cute! Very LA-Pusan vibes, and the food is so delicious. Service by Jun was on-point and fluent in both Korean and English. They were out of the Yakult and peach sojus so just had the jja Jiang myun combo with the tang soo yook.
Ordered takeaway. Money well spent !
nice place.
Food and service is meh, wouldnt come again
The food was not good but service staff was nice. Prices are good but a whole lot of bad food is still bad. Did not drink here though. Open to giving that a try if they improve their food quality.
Way better than Cactus Club s Happy Hour (and Cactus Club is really good too!)
Love the spring combo deal, great taste for the price. Was happily surprised about the pork chunks in the jajangmeyon. Also had the korean beef brisket udon, a bit surprised that it wasn t the udon noodle but had a strong beef brisket taste in the noodle that was a star for me. Would recommend and come again
We had a big party in Soju!! The owner is so kind and has a lot of experience and sense, so he took care of everything from seating arrangements to serving food!! The friends who came to the party also left satisfied, saying that they enjoyed their meal at a reasonable price The servers were also very friendly I went there a few times before the party, and it was delicious every time I went, and overall everything was good. Jjamppong Jjajangmyeon tastes just like the one I had in Korea. Some places have a bland taste, but this one is very delicious!!! In general, I really recommend it..
This is the worst Korean food Ive had period. Food came out after 20 minutes with 1 other table. So we thought, oh the food must be cooked fresh thats nice. Nope. The yuringi (fried chicken) came onto the table and I had a moment of disbelief because the pieces were like rocks on a plate. Completely solid. The meat was weird, bland, and had globs of batter UNCOOKED inside. You know its a bad sign when your first instinct eating fried chicken is CHECKING IF ITS COOKED INSIDE. They brought a dip that was pretty much sesame oil and salt. Which is very atypical of a yuringi sauce, even being generous. When we asked why it looked Literally Different from the Menu picture, they said it has always been this way. When I went to check out since me and my husband were denied a refund for this dish (we couldnt finish it, yes it was that bad), the owner tried to tell us we didnt know real chinese korean cooking. Um.... We didnt want to argue because we are adults who wanted edible food. I only wish we took photos to show how bad it was. Positive reviews are either fake or havent had good Korean food in their lives :) **FULL DISCLAIMER** My husband is KOREAN and I am CHINESE. We both agreed it tastes awful! Sorry to the poor server who had to hear our complaints.
I got the stir fry black been noodles, and I absolutely loved it!! Great customer service, they were very polite and welcoming.
It was my first time but I enjoy their food!!
never had a bad experience here! the service is always great and thr food is phenomenol !! highly reccomend
The Earl Gray highball and wheat were very reasonably priced and delicious! And its a great Jjamppong restaurant. I enjoyed it! Ill go again next time~ Food
It was a good place for a friends gathering. Jjampong was delicious! I recommend this for hangover. Nice customer service Food
Reasonable price, good vibes, nice and kind service
I like this place They have parking lot, so convenient. I can feel Korea vibe. Soju highball was really good and everyone was so nice to us!
My favourite korean restaurant, their servings are huge and the staff are friendly Parking: Pay parking meters along Kingsway and there is a few free parking spot at the back of the restaurant
The hot and sour soup with seafood was really good. I liked the Pickled radish they served too. Only problem is the mussels are served with the shell in the bowl and sharp shards break off in the soup. Could be the end of some one. Careful with those.
We entered as a group of 4 people with and two of us ordered meals. The other two were going to share the ordered meals, but we were refused service unless everyone individually ordered their own meal. We were going to order just rice and fried eggs, but we were told we had to order proper meals (minimum $10). This seems extremely unprofessional and borderline discriminatory. The server was extremely nice and was instructed by the boss to let us know about this absurd policy that seemingly does not exist.
Their $10 dine in meals are a steal. Fried chicken were pretty good too! Great place to come for late night drinks and snacks. If youre looking for more soupy stuff there isnt a lot to offer.
amazing and unforgettable experience. Came here with my friend and the deals for their spring menu is so cheap and so worth it. One of the workers also noticed we were K-pop (seventeen) fans and played music for us. It was pretty funny but a memorable experience. Will come here again!!
Was skeptical about trying this restaurant at first as the reviews are quite mixed but so glad I did because the food was delicious and so affordable! We ordered the $9.99 jjajangmyeon and bulgogi combo and the noodles were chewy with a lot of jjajang sauce and bulgogi was tender and flavorful. Fried chicken was $30 for a generous platter and remained crunchy even after a few hours (we talked for a long time haha). They also have a variety of soju so it s great for food and drinks with friends! Will be back for sure!
I loved the Mapo Tofu! Everything was great, but that one dish really stood out to me.
Food was delicious and good value. Service was very good.
Good value, good food
Delicious food with great service even during late evening.
Honestly, food quality is uninstagramable. Its very questionable why they even opened. Would not recommend here, try 88 noodle house near by
The staff were amazing and kind and the food was even better would recommend forsure
Affordable place to go for dinner with friends! There was a lot of set menus and the price is really affordable when sharing:) Our server was also extremely attentive and helpful!
I ordered Gan-Jjajang, Jjamppong, and Kkanpunggi, totaling $60. The Jjamppong was okay, but the Kkanpunggi was overly salty, making it inedible. Despite requesting a remake, there was no noticeable improvement, and I was still charged for it. Not a place Id recommend.
I m not sure if they are paying reviewers to write good reviews, but went to this place based on good reviews but it was nothing like it. The worst kkanpoongi(sweet and sour pork)/ jajangmyeon I ever had in my life. It was very salty, kkpoongi tasted like ketchup+soy sauce. Don t be fooled by these reviews.
Very good experience the food is amazing and the workers are super friendly! Highly recommend
I found out about the place from a friend. We came as a group and we are truly happy with the food. They are tasty and the price is pretty decent and affordable. You will have a variety of Korean food choices. We were welcomed the moment we entered and the persons who served us were also very accommodating. We didn t really wait long and the wait is really worth it. It is a best place to hang out with friends, colleagues and family to share sumptuous food. Highly recommended to those enjoy eating and hang out together. Surely will come back here and bring friends.
Service and food were amazing. We ordered combo with 2 noodles and its a great deal.
Excellent food and service. Came with a large party and the restaurant was able to accommodate to moving tables in order to sit together. Additionally the service was exceptional despite only having one server working. I recommend this play and will definitely come back again
Very nice and clean environment. Service was amazing - Sue was the best. $5.99 calamari spicy cold noodles were really yummy. There s also a fun free blue lemonade promotional challenge.
Service was great! I ordered the mojito soju but it was not available and gave me a free honey lemon soju. I also ordered 1 corn soup but it comes with service and they gave us 2. Price range is very affordable. We ordered 2 of the $5.99 special noodles and the donkatsu rice which totalled $37 minus tip. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back :)
This place is almost amazing. The waitress is so kind and polite she told us right off the bat of to noodle dishes that were $6 a piece and they are totally delicious and all that me and my friend needs to be full for lunch. Where on Earth do you find a $6 dish anymore?!?
Dropped by for a quick lunch bite over the weekend. Their lunch special pricing is very friendly. You can pick between black bean noodle or spicy calamari noodle for $6. Taste is not bad, server is friedly, will visit again!
We tried their Sweet chilli and Sour Chicken, Jajang noodle, and Beef Champon. Everything was okay, but not great. The chicken had quite a bit of batter and the soup was very red but not very spicy at all. The portion sizes are on the smaller side but still fine, but the amount of chicken is not worth the price in my opinion. Service was good and there were many tables available for a weekday lunch.
Sorry I had to edit my review based on the food. The unfixable common problem with the chinese korean food always seems to be the chef / cook level. I personally blame the labor market because these chefs are hard to come by because of their short career (bad wrists and health) and most younger koreans are not willing to work in the kitchen anymore especially after covid 19. Finally, the experienced chefs usually are extremely demanding and hard to work with. The Jjangmen noticeably did have traditional cucumber decor and a lot more meat than other places like tae yang guk and 88. Unfortunately, the sauce was too bland (need more sugar and msg) its better for the customers to say its too sweet than bland. The fried chicken ( ) at a glance had good smell but the sauce was too salty and the whole thing tasted like just when you accidently dropped a sushi into the soy sauce; meaning it just tasted nothing but soy sauce (no zesty, sweet / salty, little spicy). And also, it was soggy (I live 5 mins away). Anyways, I think there is a lot of room to improve and the pricing is great but I rather go to 88 than have bland Jjangmen and salty soggy fried chicken. I wont leave a one star for now but I will be back to see if the food have gotten any better time to time then decide on finalizing my review.
Food was delicious, a great place to come for lunch!
Came for the $6 jjajangmyeon promo. It s really good! A great portion for lunch and you definitely can t beat that price. We also got the seafood jampong, and it had lots of seafood with a delicious rich broth. Huge portions, i had enough for dinner too!
Great new korean spot in the metrotown area. We got the calamari spicy cold noodle, the jajang, and the udon soup, all of which were very tasty. The cold noodles were our favourite due to the mild sweet spiciness and the texture added by the toppings with the noodles. The resturant has a nice atmosphere due to the lighting and well spaced seating. The service was great and the prices were quite affordable for such a filling meal. Its a bit hard to spot when driving down Kingsway, and parking may be a challenge depending on the time of day, but its also not a long walk from mall. I would highly recommend this new restaurant and we would very likely return again.
Great service!
This restaurant is tucked away in the ground floor of a sprawling manor. They have a really good deal going on for their noodle dishes, just ask them about it. The portion sizes are big and filling. There is a button to call for service and they responded really fast.
We ordered black bean noodle, spicy cold noodle and veggie fried rice and they all are tasty and have generous portions with the very good price. The food service was slow but we understand they were short on staff on Sunday dinner. However, the male server maybe owner is friendly and still attentive. We ll come again to support new business like this. Hope they ll have more vegetarian options though.
Went there 3-4 times a month since their opening for the food quality, fair pricing and friendly services! My favs are jajang noodles, fried chicken & beef jjamppong.
ate here because my friend recommended it and did not disappoint. Literally the food is amazing. Atmosphere and interior is so nice and the songs they play are Kpop. Perfect for going out with your friends or going on a date. Ebisu, one of the workers helped us and she was amazing. She recommended the mango creamy prawn and it was so GOOOD OMG. Also even when busy she provided the best customer service and made us feel welcomed. YALL GOTTA GIVE HER A RAISE . I love her smile too it s so welcoming and warming
Good place to hang out with friends. Their honey garlic chicken is one of the best chickens Ive ever tasted. The restaurants atmosphere could use a little more work though.
Nice front of house staff but awful kitchen service. We ordered 2 dishes: honey garlic chicken and the famous jajangmen. The chicken came after 20mins and we left after 50 minutes because the noodles never came. Total waste of time.
second time we come at 10:30 and they re always closing early :/ just change ur hours
Came second time at 10:30 and they said they were closing early.. says they close at 1am
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and good location with plenty of parking
Price. Overpriced menu, most dishes are $30 for chicken and try to attract you with the $5.99 deal. The other noodle dishes are normal price. Pricing wise, if you were going to order meat, mind as well go to another Korean restaurant. Communication. Lack of communication and told us it would be a few minutes for a table. Ended up waiting 30 minutes to be warned for another 30 minute wait. Empty. All of this while theres more than 8 seats empty at tables. Odd atmosphere. They should probably hire more staff in the kitchen. Too many empty tables and waitress/waiters just walking around. There seems to zero urgency. Or reduce tables since they cant serve them all at once. tldr; Better off just going elsewhere to save your time and get better service. Pricing is no different if you are ordering multiple dishes. They lack communication.
I loved the spicy chumon and jajangmyeong noodles, tastes so good!
Soju was a great place to stop by for dinner. The portions were generous and the prices even more so! The service was also nice and friendly. Would definitely eat here again.
Vibe was chill, the food was great in terms of both price and taste and the service was quick and to the point. Will be coming back.
We order 3 dishes, and we waited 20 mins for our first two dishes to arrive. However our third dish didn t come for another 20 minutes. It was not busy at this time, but all the tables around us were still dirty from previous customers. There were 2 waitress and 5 tables that were never cleared from when we arrived to when we left. The price and taste was just ok. however, our food wasn t hot but just a little warm.
Ordered Spicy Calamari noodle , price was great as they are doing a promotion (only 5.99). With a Blue Lemonade on the side!
Kitchen capacity is small. A lot of empty tables, but due to small kitchen, long wait times. I would suggest going elsewhere! Staff should communicate sooner if kitchen is too busy that we would need to wait an hour to be seated and able to order! Told us only after we waited for 35 minutes.
Food was pretty good and the prices werent bad. However, I think as the name implies, its a good spot for drinks. I went during lunch so I cant comment on the drinks but judging by the large wall lined with soju, I imagine theres a good selection.
Great atmosphere!
Nice service and didn t have to wait for the food very long!
Its our first time trying Soju Restaurant - we enjoyed the food. We ordered Medium for 3 but 4-5 people can eat it. The food was great, we liked the Mango Cream Prawn and Assorted Seafood and veggie with mustard sauce. The Champon is better than Jajang. The price is very affordable. Wed definitely be back again.
Their food is absolutely phenomenal! Very rich in flavours and a good proportion. Unfortunately, we did have to wait for 45 minutes for whatever reason, but we still think this is a place that we want to give another shot at, considering how amazing their food is. I highly recommend their seafood champon :)
I did combo 2 and it was delicious.
Price is ridiculous good. Food was not bad. Mango shrimp and Fried pork were the best. However, salads, where were on the side of every dish, werent fresh. It looks like a day or half day old. Taste overall was good but bit sweet and champon was not spicy. I brought my friend, they liked it but everyone said bit oily and I need beer
Enjoyable korean restaurant with friends.
Great place! Very kind and great food!
Amazing experience! Jin the waitress was so nice and the price for the food is so worth it! Definitely coming back
Cant really complain as food and price are fair but just like many other Korean restaurants, portion are big yet lack of options for solo. Suggest offering half order.
Sweet and sour pork (if theres one thing thats disappointing, it was disappointing that the sauce came pre-poured even though my family wanted to eat it - I should have asked for it separately in advance), Jjamppong, and Jjajangmyeon are all basically delicious, and the servers are friendly. I also have a doctor to visit.
The prices here are unreal and the food tastes great. Good service too! The vibe here was really nice as well, definitely recommend checking this place out
The food was good, the black bean noodle was nice, had smaller portions compared with other restaurants but the price was not expensive at all. Will come back as regular customers
Great service and amazing food. Brings back memories from my time in Korea. Definitely visit again!
Cheap deals!!
Donkatsu meal is cheap and filling. Good place for lunch specials.
Donkatsu meal is really good value!
Very friendly. Good service. 5.99 deal is still going on. Make sure to check on their IG.
Last time I ordered Dinner for Two, the sweet and sour pork was bland and crab meaty, and the jjamppong was so salty that I kept drinking water until night, but today the jjamppong was bland and I dont know what it tastes like. I think Ill only eat the pork cutlet set meal here.
Great specials now for $5.99 noodles! Must try:)
Really great renovations that they did here, the restaurant is beautiful and the service is excellent. They have $5.99 deals right know for bowls of noodles and its a great special!
Waited over an hour for a table for two although we were told the wait would be 15-25minutes. Food took forever to come, but everything was below my expectations. Price was reasonable but I wouldn t go back for the bland food.
There was a good atmosphere and the waiters were really nice
I came here last Friday so the place wasn t so crowded, there was a nice chill vibe to the place, our hostess was very nice and you can t beat the prices here for noodles
I ordered the combo for 2. The best one is the soup. Noodles are just okay. Dishes are all panda express flavours. Definitely won t be back again. It s not the real Korean food.
New restaurant, friendly staff, and the best value for food that I ve seen in a long time. We got the combo for 2 and it was more than enough to feed 2/3 people. Food was average, but again for the cost of $40 for 2 people is hard to find nowadays.
Amazing and cozy Korean spot. Very nice staff and delicious food highly recommended
great food with friendly staff + pretty cheap prices with good portions
Love their honey garlic chickens and black bean noodle! I have tried a couple of other Korean fried chickens in Downtown and Burnaby restaurants, this place fried chickens plate is one of the best! It is just crunchy enough on the outside and juicy on the inside, the flavour is just right, not too plain nor too salty. Love it and will come back to try other fried chickens they have. One cons is the waiting time for their food is long. We ordered only 2 plates and had to wait for around 35-40 minutes. But if you are no rush then this place is a must try.
$5.99 jajang and cold spicy calamari noodles, cant be beat for the portion size and quality! This opening promotion will be for a month or 2 according to a server.
Excellent experience.
Amazing food and service! We tried the sweet and spicy fried chicken, chicken stir fry, sweet chilli and sour chicken, chicken corn soup and shrimp fried rice. Our server, Ebisu was amazing. Made us laugh throughout dinner and also taught us a new game. We rate it a 10/10 for the commendable food, service and the general vibes of the restaurant. A must visit!
Taste ok Sweet and sour pork tastes exactly like sweet sour chicken Cheaper than other Korean restaurants though Food : 3/5
Excellent customer service with good price of foods and drinks. They open to late night. It is great place to hangout with friends or go alone.
Good price and super yummy food
The $5.99 deal is still available (until further notice on Instagram). I got a bowl of each of the noodles. I liked both, but my favourite of the two was the spicy calamari. The noodles for both of them were nice and springy.
The food is delicious and not expensive. In particular, the tall male staff member was very gentle and kind. Its the best.
Went here on Sunday at 11:30AM which clearly stated on google that they open on Sundays, when we got there, everything is still closed and their hours on google suddenly changed to Monday instead. Great, if you dont want to open, dont put it out there and obviously dont wait til last minute to change it. Definitely not going out of my way and take my chance again.
Cozy and friendly Korean Chinese restaurant. They have lots of menu options and family combo options. We ordered the combo for 4 and there was so much food. Our favorite dishes from the combo were the Chinese Meatball and Mango Cream Shrimp. Were definitely coming back to try the other menu items. Kid-friendliness: High chair and children utensil available
I keep coming and going and thinking I should go there sometime. Today, I had a delicious and filling dinner with my husband for the first time in a long time. I could feel the freshness of each and every ingredient in the course. I was even more impressed by the large shrimp in the jjamppong, with the skin and tail still removed, making it easy to eat! !! Even though it looked busy due to the holiday, both servers responded kindly and took care of me. Thank you :)
Tasty noodles and the price is very good. Staff very courteous and welcoming
I am scared a lot of paid actors here foods taste all same Msg
Food was at a good price but was mediocre. Good liquor selection.
Lower price, good service, good quality foods
The jjambbong (spicy seafood soup I got the beef version) was good but the fried rice was not up to par. The wait times for food are very long.
First time trying korean food and it was so good and really spicy! Eating with friends will make the experience eating here even better. Would come back again! :)
They still have the 5.99 deal of jjajangmyeon or spicy squid noodle (cold). They are both good although I would have liked the jjajangmyeon sauce to be thicker and less watery. The portions are smaller which is why they are priced at 5.99 We also ordered the mapo tofu but it didnt really taste like the korean style of mapo tofu Im used to. Have yet to try other things but all other thing besides noodles are quite pricey at $30 for a dish. For some reason the mapo tofu and squid noodle came out fast but jjajangmyeon came out slow and we were almost done eating the other two already. Theres a parking lot beside it for a small outside mall which is convenient.
I did not expect they shut down sweets and beans and yet i found out on tik tok that this same location opened a new restaurant. I Was curious to try it out since a lot of people reviewed on here enjoyed their meal. When we entered the place we had to write down our names for 2 guests and we roughly waited 30 mins to be seated, we were expecting it to be quicker since it was a big space. We took time in getting acquainted with the menu because at first it wasnt so clear since they had combo meals.. and honestly its a bit pricey for one dish. Expecting $30 for most of the dishes. A lot of the menu items were not available at hand because they either ran out of green onions or low on stock with other condiments which is a huge bummer. Getting to know the menu and placing the orders took at least 10-15 mins. But the real kicker was when we waited 30-40 mins for our food to start showing up the server recommended us the MOST popular dish on the menu which was the battered prawn and mayo on top it was honestly the most unappetizing thing we ve ever had, it was very soggy, rubbery, TOOOO MUCH MAYO, and thick of a batter, lack in seasoning.. its hilarious when the server promised it was going to be good and it turned out it didnt. My mother ordered the spicy beef soup and the soup came out salty, small portion and lack of flavor the soup did not come out 10 mins after our prawn dish. . I ordered a rice dish that supposedly had seafood on it but all i saw was a few pieces of baby shrimp and a hefty load of vegetables. It was also salty, gooey, and tasteless. This is one of the worst restaurants I ve ever been too, wish it was better since its a perfect location. The service was horrible, a lot of people got their food first before we did judging that they came in later and were seated first before them. They lack a lot of organization, communication, and execution. There is still room for improvement, but time will tell all. If you want a decent big size, good price, good food that would be pal pal noodles its definitely a few steps better than here.
The staff was very friendly.
Budget friendly korean dining place, has lots of parking too. Only thing is that 1, food are quite bland. 2, they have this weird policy where one person cannot just order a drink. My girl friend and I decided to share a meal because it was a huge meal that would make both of us full, and apparently we cant do that and one of us had to order something? And so I said, she can order this meal and Ill just get a soda for myself and they said it wasnt allowed and I had to order a meal for myself if we plan on doing that. Other than that, staff were nice and place was quite spacious, meal got served pretty fast as well
Excellent Korean fusion food at a reasonable price! The meal for 2 is a really good deal (ours came with spring rolls, shrimp, chicken, pork, jjajang, champon, and ice cream). Nice modern and homely atmosphere good for social gatherings. Also very pleasant service - will go again!
SOJU has now become my go-to place to eat whenever I have friends wanting to meet up for lunch or dinner! Service is great, food is even better, and you cant beat the portion size. Its become my favourite, go-to restaurant in the area! So glad this place opened!
Mussel soup was good but the mango cream prawn was not good. We also had a lot of fruit flies at our table
REALLY flavourful Korean food! First time here, and VERY happy that we saw the outside banner sign for this Soju restaurant (which is under the huge Sushi restaurant upstairs.) First impression was super clean, and pretty roomy! A very nice attentive waitress took our order -she came with refills of their delicious pickles for instance, that come with the meal. VERY fair pricing, and generous tasty dishes! We had the $8.99 lunch special advertised outside - and different every day- it was GREAT! It was a really nice fried rice dish, a coleslaw with a great dressing, and a VERY tasty beef flavoured, onions, etc, dish (jajang?) that you can see in the picture. We WlLL go back and try much more on the menu.. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access
Customer service is superb and food came out really fast. Will come again for sure.
This restaurant is a great spot to eat with your friends! They have amazing deals and great portions and the service is always impeccable! Would recommend the honey garlic chicken!
Been going regularly for a couple months. Staff is always friendly and the food is always super nice (great value!!). Highly recommend coming!
Great service and late night spot with your friends. Would highly recommend going for Korean food.
The server is was really good like extremely friendly and wanted our dining to be good by asking the music. Food and portions were superb. Would come again 10/10
Yangyeom fried chicken was very batter-y and gritty. Not much meat and the sauce was also too creamy. Jjajjangmeyon was decent but too much sauce. Too much thousand island dressing on the salad, not enough salad. Never checked on us after giving us the food. Price is not terrible but the food is too heavy and saucy for me.
Delicious and large portion of food . Would go back again
AYY my man jong pulling up with the clutch service. The food portions were crazy and the service had a good vibe to it. Jong was a good vibe, he basically befriended the entire table and were really looking to come back.
The food was straight fire. I was completely full by the time I finished my meal and fully satisfied as well. The vibes were immaculate. Not to mention the amazing service from the legend himself Jong. Def recommend 9:10
You get big portions of delicious food for a reasonable price! Great place to have dinner with friends
The restaurant was great, the service was very friendly, especially Jong ! I highly recommend if you want to eat a good meal !
We had the server called Jong. he was very nice and large proportion of food. Would recommend for those who are hungry.
I have lunch here for the special menu. The taste is very good and it is really great value for money. The price will be double if I order the similar food at the metropolis. I will come back and try all their lunch specials.
We had an order of chili shrimp, which was so good. Noodles were good, too. This will be my first pick for Korean food
I ordered Jjajangmyeon and Samseon Jjamppong, and the young man and lady in the hall treated me kindly, so I happily submitted my food. I really liked the detail in which they prepared the noodles right after I arrived at the store, and they provided plenty of pickled radish. The price was cheap and the food tasted good to my taste. thank you! Great customer service, reasonable price, and great quality of food.
Super loud because noise bounces off the walls. A lot of teenagers. Mediocre food, prices are okay. Disgusting washrooms.
Great experience, friendly staff and delicious food. We will be back for sure.
$9 lunch deal is worth it! Server was very nice.
Food is good! The atmosphere is pretty cool. The service is wow amazing. Come here with your friends and have a great time!
Super friendly family owned restaurant with decent prices!
I thought I was going to die of hunger, but I took the kids with me and our family of four ate very well! My mom was able to enjoy the food thanks to the friendly and smiling staff who took good care of her. Thank you! Ill be back soon
The worst service restaurant in Vancouver The elderly woman was screaming at the server and it was very uncomfortable to see. Also very being mean to us. So sad that I need to leave this review
went there for lunch 3 times and the service and food were both great!
The two of us shared a combo for 2 but it may as well have been for 3 we got to tried 3 dishes and 2 types of noodles. I enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken the best. Surprisingly the champon was really good too and not too spicy! The service was excellent and super friendly. I liked that they have the call buttons on the table but we hardly had to use them as they were always around. Very budget friendly place, we left with 2 containers of food for tomorrow!
This place was the old Sweet Bean location. We wanted to try this new place. We got the Small for 2 combo. It comes with spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, sweet and sour chicken, mango cream prawns, 2 personal size jajng or champon and dessert. This can probably feed 3 people, and you dont eat a lot, then maybe 4. Although youll have to fight for the dessert as its only 2. Even though there is sweet & sour pork and sweet & sour chicken, the flavors were different. The pork sauce was more tangy and liquidy but the chicken sauce was thick, had a hint of plum (something like that) and sour. Maybe the corn & peas in the chicken one added a different flavor. The mango cream prawns was good. The batter was light and the cream gives a richness to the prawns. At the end, the dessert was vanilla ice cream cones. The staff was super friendly and efficient. The food came out pretty quick and was good. Definitely worth the value. We will be back with some friends and try the other combos. I bet the Medium for 3 will feed 4-5 people.
Had some great food with great value. This is a great place to go with friends for drinks and food.
They still have $5.99 black bean noodle. It was great
Had a late dinner here after seeing an ad for it on instagram of all places, Food was really good and inexpensive and our server Jong was really really good, super attentive and polite, answered all our questions about all the menu and checked in regularly to see how we were doing, Recommended me a great item #80 and made a vegan dish for my friend. Ill be coming back with more friends soon. Vegetarian options: Has vegan options that were cooked separately from the meat for my friend
Just went for lunch, but came out with full arms of takeout! Delicious, generous, kind, and reasonable price. Definitely a place to visit again~~
Huge portions, incredibly low prices. No other place like this, would recommend to everyone.
Very reasonably priced. Really great place if you are craving some good late night food. Server was a very sweet guy who made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend!
Good
Took sweet and sour chicken. Chicken is sour not sweet . Didnt eat more than 2 pcs . For 31 $ its not chicken breast , you will get boneless wings , inedible. I dont know about other dishes and dont want to know. Recommendation to avoid
I m visiting at lunch hours, place is very quiet. Only one to two tables of people. I know they are busy in the night time. Talking about foods, prices are very reasonable, Monday to Friday they have lunch specials under $10. They are liquor license. Food
This restaurant s lamb stew is really delicious.
Neat vibes with the green and brown interior, the employee working when I visited was pretty chill, and the prices are quite good.
Lovely new restaurant in the royal oak area. Great food, pricing + portion and service!
I dont think Ill go again. I went when it first opened and was very disappointed and didnt go. At that time, I ordered sweet and sour pork, jjajang, jjamppong, and kkwabaro, but after waiting for an hour, I got the spicy and spicy jjamppong. I ordered sweet and sour pork, but it didnt seem to be the one, so I checked again and was told it was sweet and sour pork, but it was sweet and sour pork. I asked them to make it again, but I didnt know when it would come out, so I just gave up and said it was okay and ate it, and the Guobarou didnt come out at all, so I canceled it. At the time, it was slow, the food wasnt that good, and I thought maybe it was because it was my first time, so I went with a friend again this time. I ordered the Jjajang Jjamppong Sweet and Sour Pork combo. The Jjajang was really tasteless or tasted like water, just like adding starch and water to leftover Jjajang sauce and topping it with roughly boiled noodles. The sweet and sour pork was overcooked, so the meat came out dry and twisted. At first, I thought, Oh, its really not that good, but I didnt think it was right, so I told the server that the food wasnt that good, paid for the full amount, went out, went to 88, and ordered it again. Even after several months, I dont think its worth trying anymore if the food is at this level. I heard a rumor that it was okay, but it was really the worst, probably because it was the person who did it today. And the restaurant smells so bad. Still, its a place where people eat, but doesnt it feel like a sewer smell? As soon as I entered, the smell was shocking. I said it was the kitchens fault and not the servers fault, so I paid the full price and a tip and left, but honestly, this place is the worst. I will never visit here again. For the first time, Ive been here before when they started the business. I ordered black bean noodles, spicy noodles soup, 2 types of sweet & sour pork. It took an hour to have dishes and they gave us the wrong dish. Even I confirmed with a server and she said it was the right one but it wasnt. We didnt want to wait another again so we just ate that one. The flat pork one was too late so we ended up canceling it. Back then all dishes were late and the taste wasnt great at all. We tried to understand they just opened the business. And today we gave it a shot and it was absolutely terrible experience. First, the smell in the restaurant is terrible, it smells like a bathroom drain. disgusting. Then the food was disappointing. We ordered black bean noodles, spicy noodles soup and sweet & sour pork. Black bean noodles were so bland. It tasted like they mixed with leftover black bean sauce and added water and cornstarch. The pork dish was overcooked. Super dry. It felt like I was eating deep fried jerky. We tried to eat without complaint. But it got worse and worse. Even the server doesnt know how to handle this problem. I know he did his best and Its not their fault. But cooks need to know what is wrong. Plus you guys need to do something about the smell seriously. Anyway I wont go back here anymore. I just wanted to share my experience here. Oh by the way I paid the full amount and tip. It was terrible but I didnt want to make the servers feel bad. We ended up having dinner again in another restaurant near by. Hope it helps you.
