Nice and clean restaurant and good price

We probably have had meals here about ten times over the past few years. It has been consistently great. I dont know how they can offer such large portions for an incredible price! Ive usually ordered the New York steak which comes with rice, a salad, garlic bread and delicious little potatoes. The steak quality obviously isnt equal to a high end steak house, but it has always been tasty. The other day I stopped in for lunch and had the burger special. Im very picky when it comes to burgers and this one was delicious. The patty meat was very tender. It came with a huge caesar salad. The service has always been very friendly. Even though it has been busy some evenings we have never felt rushed to leave. Every meal we have eaten has been excellent and it has been a terrific value for the price. Parking: Most of our visits we have found parking close by. I imagine it could possibly be a little difficult finding a spot on Friday and Saturday nights. All parking is free one hour street parking.

They have special dinner! Sooo good

The service is great. The food is fresh and reasonably priced. I come here regularly! Nothing fancy but we don t mind.

the dinner menu says with 1 beverage but they charged us 7 dollars for 2 pepsi 1 dollar for refill they didnt let us know we wont come back

Our only complaint was the salad dressing. The ceasar salad didnt come with ceasar dressing and the green salad offered no dressing choices. The portions were nice, the prices were good, and the service was great.

Amazing place to eat. The food is great, the portions are generous and the price is absolutely amazing, especially in this economy. I happily recommend this place to family and friends. Mondays can be very busy, especially during dinner rush because of the amazing daily deal but thats just a sign of how great they are.

Bad customer service. The bartender who took our order had a attitude when we bring in 2 drink even we order take away.

Excellent beer. Not bad clam chowder. The turning point for me was. Ive specifically asked for Tabasco sauce and I received Frank sauce no big deal. But I walked over to the bar and ask for Tobacco sauce and she straight up lied to me by saying we dont have tobacco sauce. So I pointed at the big Tabasco bottle right next to her. She replied oh that is for the bar only and was reluctant on even giving me it. I replied can you at least give me a little spash. She replied sure I will send it out to you later after I am done. OMG Sorry for asking. Well I did got the tiniest amount possible. Thanks. Lol. Felt bad about asking for more. The chicken felt like Pre-cooked reheated. Absolutely not a fan of the Suvaloki dish. Service was good, but not warm and welcoming. I heard good things and reviews about this place. Very disappointed. I had couple hours to kill before heading back into traffic. I was planning on staying for a couple of hours spending more on things to eat. And planning on revisiting again. Ended up staying less amount of time. Unfortunately my last visit here. If cheaping out on little things and lying to my face. Makes me wonder about the place.

I tried to make a reservation for 8 people and explain that we would all order appetizers to share, we would be able to come in at least an hour before close and leave by 9ish, just looking for something quick and easy after work. The person I chatted with on the phone was very difficult to talk to and uncompromising. They wouldn t have a proper conversation over the phone, interrupting me, just saying didn t want our business and would not accommodate us:( I felt like they just care about how they can get the most money, but probably lost way more business because none of us plan to return

We love going for lunch and dinner , food is excellent good price and quality. Disappointed with service , had the same server twice for lunch on a Tuesday and she is NOT personable at all , seems like is a bother to have to serve people , she is in the wrong business Food

They couldnt even put cheese on a mushroom burger, so I ordered the Blackened Salmon grilled, poached maybe. Boiled red potatoes are NOT baked potatoes and thepilaf was just plain rice. The garlic bread (?) (toast?)doesnt bear mention. Embarrassing

Every day has a different special menu, it is def one of the places you should try out. I had a New York steak with a local beer on Monday. Its very worth the price , and the quality is also good too Wheelchair accessibility: It would be better to book ahead, and there are window side tables, which are big and able to remove chairs to make a room for wheelchair.

Review for Post Workout Meal. This place is a local gem and we have been coming here for years. The meals are the best bang for your buck as you get a decent portion. We generally come for here for the steak and salmon meals. The service is great and we highly recommend this place in the Burnaby Heights!

This is an awesome family restaurant! Some of the best prices for lunch & dinner in the Lower Mainland for around $10-$16 for a meal. There Monday to Thursday dinner special from 5-9:30pm cost $8.95 plus with purchase of one drink. I highly recommend you go to X-Site grill & bistro.

Recently Hosted 7 friends to an absolutely amazing lunch this past Monday April 15, 2024.All I can say is it was unbelievable 5 service! I recommend it whole heartedly. My bill came to $125 including GST + 30% tip = 163.00 Wheelchair accessibility: Very Wheelchair accessible! In fact there were 3 people disabled 2 in wheelchairs & 1 with his Walker.

This place is a hidden Gem only not so hidden. We went for chicken souvlaki on the specials day (Wednesday) got 2 and took 2 extra meals home, 1 pop and 3 specialty martinis and the bill was $60 . The food NEVER disappoints so fresh and delicious!!

This place has been a go-to in our neighbourhood for a long time, and the Heights wouldn t be worth a damn without it. The portions are incredibly generous, the food is tasty, the prices are fantastic, and the staff are super good at what they do. Monday steak might have been the only way I survived university, and souvlaki special is so good and filling it s sometimes the only meal I have in a day. Family run, the owner is a gem, and her efforts to keep the vibe as it s always been while upgrading the space is a masterful balance she is apt at. Couldn t recommend enough. Vegetarian options: They have em. What else ya need? Parking: It s a neighbourhood restaurant , so there s some parking on Hastings in front of the restaurant, a couple of small lots on either side of the block it s on, and looooots of street parking on the residential streets nearby, all free. Kid-friendliness: There are no table-dancers or Elbow Room-style profanity spewers, and families are here all the time. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs. Bathrooms have a stall each that is accessible.

This used to be my favourite place to eat every Monday night, that is, until something strange started happening. A very large group of people seemed to have taken over the entire back seating area facing the kitchen every Monday, and they stay for hours! It was brought to my attention that these folks had reservations. Now, this would be OK on Fridays & and weekends, but how disrespectful is that to other patrons on Dinner Special nights when they are waiting in line out in the rain or cold down the street?? To make matters worse, when my friend and I got in, we requested to be seated at the larger table instead of the tiny table in front of the kitchen as we had large winter coats and handbags. The waitress rudely said that she would then have to inform the next people in line that WE took their table! I was perplexed by this comment, as this server had always been so friendly before. Perhaps she was having a bad day? May I suggest that there are no reservations on Dinner Special nights so everyone can enjoy a great meal? We went mid afternoon so it wasnt busy. Service was very good. Prices are more than reasonable and quality of food was great. Burgers are home made and you can taste it. Will definitely be back. Looks like they have pretty good drink specials too.

A hidden gem, Great prices and very good food

Fettuccini Alfredo? More like knorr side kicks. The only thing remotely resembling an Alfredo in this dish was the chicken. Pasta was over cooked, sauce was watery and dull; however, the chicken was decent. Unfortunately, the only thing going for this dish was the price.

Their special is the high light. Their lunch special is good too. And the price is very good. You have to be there early to get a spot.

First time in this place! They have specials every day. It was quite busy when we had dinner there last Feb 7. My son treated us on my birthday . We enjoyed the food and the place !

The burgers used to be excellent homemade patties until they switched to frozen or pre formed cosco type. Its not the same awesome place it once was. They need to brighten the place up. Get rid of the big brick fireplace right at the front door blocking all the natural light.

I recommend getting their specials. I have tried their chicken souvlaki and steak, not your typical steak meal in high end restaurants but its still good for the price you pay. Pros: big servings, good side dishes, and good customer service. Place is spacious enough to do proper spacing from customers during covid times. I dont recommend getting their pasta, we tried the chicken Alfredo and its not good, the place is dark, and could be improved. But overall, i would still recommend this place and get their specials. I hope this restaurant wont change their prices.

Been for dinners at X-Site Grill & Bistro. Their lunch and dinner specials are wicked; $6.95 (Monday to Saturday, 11:00am to 4:00pm) and $7.95 (Monday to Thursday, 5:00pm to 9:30pm). Both require a beverage order. - Caesar ($3.95) - their Tuesday drink special. A little watered down. - 4x Gourmet burgers ($7.95) - tried the havarti. Nice touch with the dressing on the side. Burger was excellent; good flavour, juicy and well seasoned. Potatoes were tasty. - 2x Local pint ($4.25) - opted for the seasonal winter ale. Decent. - Raspberry daiquiri ($5.95) - good daiquiri, couldnt even taste the alcohol. - 4x New York steak (6 oz) ($7.95) - everyone requested medium rare. Steak was tender and an excellent portion size. Cant beat it! - Nachos ($11.95 full size) - decent. - Veggie burger ($8.95) - Classic burger ($10.95) - Chicken souvlaki ($12.95) - New York steak (6 oz) ($7.95) - Monday special again. Just as good as last time. X-Site is the definition of cheap eats!

Super cool place. Staff are super friendly. Sometimes there s a wait on the specials nights but definitely worth the wait! My favourite is the chicken souvlaki dinner on Wednesdays. Always perfectly cooked. They give you tons of food for the value. You won t be left hungry that s for sure.

I came here with a friend and we weren t disappointed. You definitely get what you pay for here. My meal came out to $11 with a drink, tax, and tip. The Caesar salad was pretty average, the garlic bread wasn t very toasted or flavourful, but the chicken strips were quite good. Service was good, restaurant was clean, food was very reasonably priced

Daily deals!

THE go-to neighborhood restaurant of the heights, a staple in the community for decades. 20 years ago I remember the steak special being 4.95 and $2 pint. I have no idea how they ve only raised prices a tiny fraction yet still serve great food consistently. No it s not Hys quality but it s 7.95 people!! Great deal for what it is. Friendly (and insanely hard working) staff, this is the only place I ll tip 30%+ because of how inexpensive it is. Anyways Mondays and Wednesdays are the best deals in town.

Unbelievable prices. I was so surprised I even asked why they were so low and the server said they always have been that way. We had two burgers w/salad, chips and salsa and a beer and it was under $40.

Daily specials are a fantastic deal & comes with a healthy servings of sides. Great value in the food you get. The Salmon was surprisingly moist yet crispy on the outside. Drink specials are cheap. Fast service and friendly staff. One of my favorite dives on Hastings.

This place is terrific. Is it fancy, no, it s it authentic, good quality and very fair prices, absolutely. The staff are wonderful and atmosphere is excellent. Highly recommend for a relaxed space with friends and family and a nice drink. Must see for anyone in the area or regular place to visit if you live in the are.

I heard good things about this restaurant from a colleague at work. I went there last week to ask if we could make a reservation for my workplaces Christmas party. I got caught off guard by the managers first question: Youre not from here, are you? Then she told me that renting the place would be 3000$ + tax + gratuities MINIMUM. Not only that, she insisted it was normal. (just count for 30 people thats at least 130$ each) She was rude and obnoxious just because of my accent. Being white wasnt enough I guess. Felt like Amys Bakery / Help line : Gordon Ramsay would be awesome.

We came for the stake dinner, wich actually was pretty good for the price. I just got disappointed with the clam chowder cause I didnt find clams in it :( it was like a veggie soup. The winter beer was delicious, and the watermelon beer was so fresh and tasty as well. Service was good.

The most value you can get at the price.

Waitresses messed up our order as well as tried to charge us for something we had discussed without telling us...they play with their hair at the bar just before grabbing your food...they food is cheap for a reason. Basic boiled potato with zero flavour and a glob of sour cream on them beside your sandwhich, which looks exactly like you make at home...couldnt even tell my bread was toasted till i ate it...had to move tables as the patrons next to us smelled horrible that even my friend with less sensitivity to smell struggled with.. If you want a cheap quick lunch this place is fine

I wasnt sure what this restaurants specialty was. Why so popular is because of their price I guess and I am a little bit disappointed with the taste. I ordered Hummus and onion soup. The hummus was good but not amazing. Personally, it was too garlicky. The onion soup is not that good. Sliced onions were not roasted patiently so there is no sweet roasted onion taste. The server was very friendly and quick service.

Amazing prices, great food, especially wonderful as everything everywhere gets more expensive. They make eating out more accessible for everyone. Highly recommend.

I didnt pay attention to detail when I ordered my Salmon Burger...unfortunately it wasnt wild salmon ...it was farmed salmon which is not as delicious as wild salmon! The waitress however was very good!!!

Good pricing, butTerrible service, i had my 5 y lo sat on the chair and that lady with short hair yelled at my kid bcz she sat before she clean the table then i was telleing the waitress that the souvlaki comes with tzatziki but i got yogurt instead she ignored me while i was still talking to her and went away, i was a loyal customer and bringing more friends to there but yesterday was my last time.

The food is very good Quality ingredients and such great customer service its fast and sooo affordable. First time there on a friends recommendation. It was great. Next time Ill try the Souvlaki and Calamari. Very reasonable, casual and friendly.

Came here to say the Club Sandwich and the Chicken Souvaki Lunch Special were the Cats Meow in the case of taste and presentation. The booths were a little cramped but there were more than 4 full sized adults with us so no worries. Street parking wasnt so bad and its worth the consideration of your time and tastebuds.

Charmingly eclectic style hangout, with copper topped tables, vintage Italian posters on the walls, and a random 50s style red pleather nook. The food is always fresh and tasty, like great home cooked comfort food. Its ridiculously cheap if you go with the lunch and dinner menus. Limited, but solid selection of beers on tap. One of my favourite places of all time for outstanding value.

A regular customer at this Bistro! The peppercorn steak and chicken souvlaki are the best two dishes of my choice! Nothing can beat their lunch and dinner special hours!
