No Early Last Call
I came to MYST with the intent of comparing the food to another Taiwanese restaurant that serves similar dishes called “The One”. Talking about MYST specifically I really liked that they had large screens so that you can watch sports games. Service was quick and attentive, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was pretty good in terms of the food. I had the deep fried squid which was quite flavourful and the deep fried chicken nuggets, which was also coated in a similar seasoning. I was mostly interested in the beef noodle soup as that is what I was comparing to the one. To be completely honest, they’re both good in their own ways however the soup broth at MYST felt a little more bland. Still flavourful and tasty however, just not as much flavour as the broth from the one I was also not asked if I wanted my soup to be spicy or not. I’m not sure if this means that they don’t offer spicy broth or if you just have to ask for it. I also had a bubble tea, which was tasty although very sweet overall I enjoyed my visit at MYST.
I always have a good positive experience everytime I come visit this place to dine. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cleanliness and inviting layout of the restaurant. The ambiance is modern and comfortable, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Myst Asian Fusion specializes in an exquisite blend of Asian cuisines, showcasing flavors from various regions, including Thai, Japanese, and Chinese. Their specialty dishes, such as the Mango Tango Sushi Roll and the Pad Thai with a twist, are not to be missed. The presentation of each dish is simply stunning; vibrant colors and artistic arrangements elevate the dining experience to a whole new level. One of my favorites was the house special, the Szechuan Spicy Chicken, which was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients used. The history of Myst Asian Fusion adds to its charm. Founded by a passionate team of culinary experts with roots in various Asian cultures, they aim to share authentic flavors while also putting their own unique spin on traditional dishes. The restaurant operates daily from 11 AM to 12 PM, making it convenient for both lunch, dinner and late time visits. While the prices are a bit on the higher side for some dishes, the quality of food and service truly justify the cost. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience with exceptional food and service, I highly recommend Myst Asian Fusion. You won’t be disappointed!
It is our first time eating in Myst. But the food never disappointed us. The food was so delicious. I feel like I am in Taiwan. Highly recommend the stinky tofu. The mango shaved ice is so good. The beef noodle soup is delicious with the beef so tender.
Super good food. Great place to take a friend or go on a date. The staff is so nice and the food was amazing! Ordered the deep-fried chicken nuggets with rice, deep fried squid and also the pork soup dumplings with a taste to die for vinaigrette sauce. I’d come back here for sure again or maybe try their new location in kerrisdale. Evonne was most helpful and saw that all our needs were met. 5 star. Thank you!
It's not my first visit to Myst. Unlike other times, I came with my husband for dinner this time. We are well aware that their portion is quite big, so we agreed to order some food to share. Taiwanese style pork knuckle, fried rice noodles with veggie and shredded pork and a soup with meat balls. The pork knuckle is so so. It's quite tender but the flavor is rather mild. Perhaps that's the whole point of having a sauce with it. The sauce did enhance the flavor and made the pork knuckles more enticing. Among the food we ordered, my favorite is the fried rice noodle. It might look very plain and not that appealing in photo, but its very aromatic and flavorful. The magic came from the dried shrimps. They totally took the dish to a different level. The soup tasted like what it supposed to be. No surprise, bad or good. Myst is one of the restaurants that you can go for a late night meal coz it closes around midnight from Sunday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, it extends the hours to about 12:30am. Its menu offers you a great variety of food, bubble tea and desserts.
Excellent food and service. The popcorn chicken was cooked almost perfectly, with the right amount of spice and taste. We also ordered the shredded chicken with rice and the laksa with egg noodle. Both were absolutely delicious and amazing. The service was great, seated quickly and food came really quick. Waitress was also very nice to us. Atmosphere was great. Although it can get a bit loud, it was nicely decorated. Overall would definitely recommend and would come back again to try new dishes.
I believe MYST and No.1 beef noodle are owned by same person. However, overall the dishes and portion size- everything, really is just better at No.1 beef noodle. Gotta love their kids menu. Not to say MYST is bad, more rather it's a comfy spacious dining environment. Until you're packed in the back area due to low seating😂 Service can be slow during lunch/dinner rushes as expected. It's not as bad as some places though, which have you wanting to just leave. Their drink is ginormous. Never was I expected one drink to be the size of two, for the price of one. Their egg is suspicious. I don't know if it's really egg. At least No.1 has an actual egg omelette.
I tried Myst for the first time when we got catering for a sports event a couple months back and enjoyed it so much we decided to come and try the food at the restaurant. I am happy to say it was expectedly much better at the restaurant. I came with a group of friends and shared a couple dishes. The portion sizes of all the dishes were quite large and we had leftovers to take home. My favourite dish was the chicken red curry. With the fried chicken and creamy curry, I thought it would be too heavy, but i found that the red and green bell peppers added a hint of freshness that helped with the heaviness of the dish. Overall a fantastic experience and will be back for seconds!
A nice place to for dinner or brunch! Food is always good and service is nice. Staple Burnaby eats!
Foraging is my favorite Taiwanese restaurant in Metro Vancouver, but today the lemon black tea was bland and the rice noodles were not fried loosely and were a little lumpy. I don t know if there is a new chef, but I haven t gotten started yet. I hope the restaurant can return to its former high standards soon.
Overall good food and fast service. They charge you extra 2% for credit card payment- charging the customers with transaction fee, which is ridiculous as it is part of the overhead of running the business.
Food was mediocre, pretty basic Taiwanese food. Service was good. I enjoyed the music they played.
good
Myst used to be one of my go-to spots in Burnaby. The food was great, the menu had tons of variety, the service was always attentive, and the prices felt reasonable for what you got. But after my recent visit, I have to say what happened? The prices are insane now. I ordered the three spice chicken. The dish alone was nearly $20, and if you want to make it a combo with rice and side dishes, you have to tack on another $8. That s almost $30 for a single meal! On top of that, the portions seem way smaller than before. Did they change management? The service wasn t any better. One of the servers left the menus and an tablet (used for taking orders) on the seats at our table. That s just plain disrespectful and unprofessional. To top it off, they ve started charging extra fees if you pay with a credit card. Since when is that a thing here? It s really disappointing to see how much Myst has gone downhill. It used to be so good, but now it feels like they re cutting corners while jacking up the prices. What a letdown.
Menu appears to have changed, but food was still amazing. Friendly staff
Good food good service. Always enjoyed here. The only thing feels frustrated is the parking.
So expensive.. I got chicken only ( large ) which was $31and it came with a few pieces of chicken only. This has got to be a joke.
Quick and good
One of the best pork belly Ive tried.
Amazing selection, great prices, and SO fast!
Even if there are only two urinals in the mens room, there should be a partition! ! ! ! !
Theyve changed their menus recently. There arent the set combos anymore and no more curry omu rice , which is my favourite menu item. I hope its just a seasonal switch. The happy hour also changed so Im not super happy about that. Food is still delicious but my favourites are gone.
Update: Ordered from doordash recently. Food was good but the quantity was criminally small for the spicy beef dish. 23 dollars for a scoop of meat and veggies is no bueno.
My daughter ordered the beef noodle soup and was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, there was a strand of hair in it. The waiter took it away and replaced it. However, it was difficult to enjoy the food after that initial experience. When our bill arrived, we were charged for two bowls of soup. They corrected it and an apology was given. We wouldnt be going back.
Sitting on the table next to me was very uncomfortable and too narrow, which directly affected my mood when using the table.
The prices have gone up significantly since the start of COVID. The quality has maintained even if the portions havent. While it feels like there is less bang for the buck, the quality and flavor is still great
Had their champion beef noodle with egg noodles. Tasty and slightly a bit on the salty side.
Had the Laksa again, tofu dessert and bingsu shaved ice. The food came out fast, portion was large it was twenty two cor the laksa and
Lots of Taiwanese food selection, decent taste, reasonable price, highly recommended.
A great place for Taiwan food. They are always so quick with preparing the food. And it is always amazing. We have gotten the chicken nuggets a few times, the fried rice, the beef soup, the green onion pancake and condensed milk buns. All are amazing.
The clerks service is kind and friendly. There is a half-price discount for the second breakfast from 9:00 to 11:30. The food quality is also on the high side.
Great shaved ice.
Anson my goat but i think i lost my wallet here
Been here many times since they first opened I was disappointed with my recent visit. The service was lacking our server brought out the share plates but never checked if we needed water, leaving our cups empty while nearby tables were served tea pots. We ordered three items: soup dumplings, a club sandwich, and pork on rice. The pork arrived quickly, but the sandwich took ten minutes, and the dumplings came out last, after someone had already finished their dish. When I tried to get a takeout container by clicking the service button, no one responded, and I ended up waving my hand to get attention. When I finally received the bill and container, they were left on the far side of the table, out of reach. This experience was frustrating, especially since Ive dined here many times before. I dont think Ill be returning.
IM IN THE THICK OF IT EVERYWHERE I GO THEY SEE ME WHEN IT SNOWS FROM THE SCREEN TO THE RING TO THE PEN TO THE KING THATS MY BLING ALWAYS DRAMA WHEN I RINGGGG Kid-friendliness: This is how the story goes....
I love the yam fries and the General Tsos chicken
Taste the same in taiwan
Good food and an awesome atmosphere. Two large TVs for watching sports, and plenty of options for drinking snacks.
Terrific place for a full breakfast Asian style. Clean and very friendly staff. Parking: 3-6 pm no street parking
Food is average but the spot is fun! I had this pork belly dish that resembled human skin. Kind of scared me actually!
After eating last week, I immediately introduced my friends to eat there. The food was delicious and the service staff were super polite
Great place to go for Asian/fusion/ Taiwanese food. They also have steak, if you prefer a more north american meal. Huge menu and a lot of different food options available. The restaurant is clean and service is good. Therez also ample parking at the side and in front. Definitely recommend this place.
bad attitude towards customer, so disrespectful!!!!
One of our favorite places, everything weve had here is good. Recently tried the shaved ice which the kiddo loved.
I love this place I recommend breakfast combo This food was delicious, Portions are huge, perfect for sharing. So much variety and Open 9am !!! Parking: 10 Food : 5/5 |
The food here is absolutely delicious! The flavors are so authentic, its like having a true taste of Taiwanese cuisine. Highly recommend!
Food is good but nothing special, kinda Bubble World standard but at a higher price. We shared a Taiwanese rice bowl (with deep fried pork & grilled chicken), Xiao long bao, and crispy egg noodles with beef. The staff were fast, you can press the bell to order/ pay. The table is 7-8cm too high, very uncomfortable dining when you cant put the arm properly.
Really solid service and the food is great too.
Was good had fun
The food is not only authentic, it is also creative. It is presented with three important ingredients. The vivid look, the Wonderful smell and the divine taste. You dont need to go to Asia to have such wonderful food.
Pros: 1. Food is great 2. Service is fast 3. Take out is always reliable Cons: 1. Some of there bench seating was ripped. (But recently I went there and they have replaced them with new ones! ) 2. If you are going there late night with some friends, music can be quite loud and it can be hard to talk over it. Overall score: 9/10 Things to try: 1. A4 Taiwanese Salty Peppery Chicken 2. Hainanese Chicken (W/ Oil rice) 3. R4 Tomato Omu Fried Rice Hope this helps!
Food was meh. Staff was very detail, and ask alot of questions before putting order in.
My family has always had a great time at Myst, and my son is a big fan of their food. Our experience this evening has left me feeling deeply disappointed and concerned. I ordered his usual favourite combo of salty peppery chicken nuggets with yam fries. A side of mayo is included in the combo. Upon inspection, I noticed that the mayo had a clear yellow hue instead of the usual pale white, suggesting it was left unrefrigerated for an extended period. I told my son not to use the mayo because I dont want him to get sick. Not refrigerating the mayo is inexcusable since these are basic Food Safe handling procedures. My son could have gotten sick from eating the mayo.
if anything best items for me are spicy squid tentacles and the beef tendon crispy noodle just the best
Loved the dedication and services provided by the staffers. Ambience is lively and makes me eat everything here. Love the vibes. Special thanks to Frank for being outstanding.
Best Taiwanese food and clean restaurants
Unfortunately the only good thing about this restaurant is the service, food was bland and way too overpriced
Very, very tasty. The menu is very large but with pictures and clear, with a bunch of additional options. And also a lot of drinks (not just tea/cola from a bottle, but many delicious options for coffee, tea, juices and others). Definitely worth visiting at least once.
Morning combo deals r pretty solid. Only thing that was a super rip off was the beef wrap which came in 4 super small pieces for $8.99. I was shocked at how small it was.
If you guys got hungry in the mid night, head out for here.
As a professional food critic, I strive to provide honest and unbiased reviews, and my recent visit to this establishment deserves recognition. Having dined here several times, I found yesterdays experience particularly noteworthy due to its near perfection. To start, I indulged in the green onion pancake as an appetizer. Its texture was crisp and flavorful, setting a promising tone for the meal. Following this, I savored the salt and pepper chicken, which was seasoned impeccably, and the pork soup dumplings, which were a delight with their tender meat and rich broth. To accompany my meal, I selected the peach slush bubble tea, which was refreshingly sweet and complemented the savory dishes beautifully. Overall, every item was executed to a high standard, impressing even my discerning palate. This visit reaffirmed the establishments commitment to quality and taste, making it a standout choice in the area.
Good food. Smaller portions. We didnt like the beef noodles but love the pork hock dish, chicken nuggets and pork dumplings. Food
The happy hour deal is such a great deal. Generous portions and delicious.
Good food great prices good selection
Myst does not disappoint with their authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The beef is tender and delicious. The noodles are chewy and fulfilling. The soup is rich and well seasoned. It is spicy by default, but you can ask them to make it non-spicy. Both flavours are great!
Came here for dinner one weeknight and the food was very nice! The menu was huge, almost overwhelming, but everything we had was good! Thanks for a great dinner!
Spent 10k here, buy food every week. I want add some lamb dishes.
I really like Taiwanese food, but the service is quiet rude and the food is below average Taiwanese restaurant. The soup of their most famous beef noodle is diluted. And the noodles are not flavorful. Anyway, wont come again.
Feels like im travelling to asia.. they have all the flavors i want!
The food was good, nice and hot. Lots of selections available.
Take out food was ok, better to eat in but its always so busy.
The dining environment is okay, but the food is really ordinary. The braised pork rice is too bad, and the sauce is so sticky that it sticks in the mouth. The iron plate of the sizzling meal is not hot, and the black pepper sauce is very, very sweet. The beef burrito on sale for $8.99 was as small as a spring roll and tasted bad.
Taiwanese food thats done decently. Would recommend. Get some.
The food tastes good, but the price/performance ratio is not very good. It s okay to come here once in a while.
Service was quick. Our server gave good recommendations. Food was amazing. Price was reasonable.
The food was absolutely delicious and true to asian culture. Would 100% go again!!!
can never go wrong
delicious food with a very wide variety of choices. great service as well.
Managers are nice. Good for family dinner
Classic fried rice, fried chicken, noodles were so good.
Great food and great place for a quick meal.
The noodle is very hard to eat and not very tasty.
Felt like I was in Asia for an hour 5/5
Have to try the Taiwan fried chicken!! we also had the sweet and sour pork meal, it was also delicious.
We keep coming back to this restaurant for good food. There are so many selections to choose from. Its one of my go to restaurant. The staffs are very attentive to their customers as well.
Excellent food and service . Very nice management . Very clean place Food : 5/5
Food is only ok Taiwanese food taste a bit China . Atmosphere is nice and clean . Prices are high small portions. Go to The One restaurant down the street more authentic better food, prices and size.
Middle-aged aunt, are you the one here? Your English is so bad, why do you still pretend not to know Chinese? My face is so stinky that I can go back to Taiwan.
Weekday breakfast special, buy one get second one at half off. Good portion and quality. Drink was way too sweet for me but thats because I said yes when the waitress asked if we wanted regular sugar...
Super busy but we lucked out with a table for 2. Food was good - some dishes we liked more than other but the shave ice was amazing!! Definitely will go back for it.
This restaurant is decorated like a club while feeling like a formal restaurant at the same time. The atmosphere and service has something about it that makes me want to go back again and again. The experience is quite nice and the food is delicious. Also, you never have to worry about large groups because they have a selection of larger tables suitable for big groups. My favorite dish would have to be the Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken. It has a nice tender texture and consistency to it, while having a crispy and crunchy outer layer. The one thing is that if you have allergies, you may want to be more cautious as I have been fooled by the delicious look of the foods. Not considering the potential allergens within the food, I ordered something that had literal peanuts in it. Even though we informed the staff of my severe peanut allergy, they didnt warn us of the peanuts which were sandwiched in a delicious looking chicken burger. I do understand though, that it was also partially my fault, and I dont blame the restaurant. Just make sure you dont make the same mistake as me and be careful when trying new foods.
Food and service is average not bad overall. This place gets very noisy dont know why. I ordered their fish cake once and it had a big piece of plastic wrap mixed in it and it was very very disgusting I almost eat it.
Good Chinese dishes open slightly later.
To small
Love the food here. Everything from appetizers, meals, snack, and dessert is really good.
Very impressive. You can hardly find the meat.
The Xiaolongbao wrapper is so thick, the scallion pancake has no onion flavor, and the salt crispy chicken has no salty flavor. Even if you can t taste anything, a steamed bun is delicious!
Crazy long menu with a lot of variety. Glad to see a vegetarian section. Asked if they could make the curry omu rice without meat. It was really good but watch out for the sliced chilli inside it is spicy. Gendered washrooms.
Its been about 7 years since the first time I visited Myst. Located in the former Lesters Family Amusement grounds, Myst serves up an eclectic menu with various pan-asian influences. On this last visit, we got the hot plate combo with 2 meat items (pan fried chicken steak and pork chop) with rice and curry sauce. It also came with a fried egg with a runny yolk. Pork chop wa ls a bit on the dry side but once you dip it in the curry sauce, all was good. Also got the braised pork belly with preserved veggies. Also known as mui choy kau yuk, I was surprised at how fast this came out since it usually takes a while to make. Im assuming they took some short cuts to have the pork belly already braised. The pork was quite tender but the flavour was very muted in the sauce and lacked the richness of the dish. Not bad (especially when paired with rice) but needs more umph. They had a special where you get an order of XLB for $7.99 if you post it on social media. I was surprised that this turned out pretty good with a decent amount of soup in the middle and a fairly thin wrapper. Dishes come out rather haphazardly so if youre dining with others, some people may be halfway through their meals before others are even served. Big menu with lots of offerings.
They have such a huge menu its great but a little on the pricey side but is really delicious.
Great late night visit. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was tasty with reasonable prices. Will definitely return!

The beef noodles are so-so, not as good as Pearl Restaurant and UNO. The camphor tea duck is okay, and the milk tea is okay. There are a lot more dishes than the old restaurant, so maybe it can t do its job well... Taiwanese beef noodles.
It had been a while since we last visited, full of expectations. We ordered braised pork belly(main thing I was disappointed). The color was not dark enough, pork was not marinated enough, the taste was not intense enough. It used the fermented tofu sauce instead of dark soy sauce. That is no no for Taiwanese style braised pork belly(ate a lot of that since child). The other two dishes was OK. Unfortunately, that didnt balance my disappointment.
My mom comes here all the time, and brought me along for the 2nd breakfast set 50% off. Come 9-11:30am! Thank you Candy, the waitress is super friendly and deserves some accolades! Thank you to Edmond and Esther! Theyre super friendly and kind.
Overrated.
Lots of options here to choose from! From classic Taiwanese cuisine to hongkong style food and western.
Great and tasty food. So delicious. Very respectful and friendly staff.
The afternoon tea set is a great deal
So many variety of food to choose and most of them taste delicious.. staff very nice and courteous. You will. Ot be disappointed on what to order
Ordering take out with Uber eats You guys give me a straw and some napkins but no fork or spoon or chop sticks like how do I eat my noodle soup? I shouldnt have to ask for some utensils for my take out I have to cut the plastic lid to use it as a spoon Foood and drinks were delicious
Champion beef noodle soup was good flavorwise, but quantity was disappointing. Only had 4 beef chunks for 16.75$, left still hungry
We ordered a bunch of different things- sampling and sharing every dish between 4 of us and had an amazing time. The old-fashioned milk tea was absolutely delicious, the marinated pork belly melts in your mouth. They have a calling system in place for service(ring the bell for service, pay your bill etc) that takes the stress off of ordering more.
Good food, delicious! Fried stuff are good, recommended.
Always good Asian comfort food
Reliable and authentic Taiwanese food, some dishes seem overpriced like stir fry vegetables. Overall good service, clean and tasty. Kid-friendliness: Kids utensils and booster seats available
was my favourite Taiwanese restaurant but not sure since when its portion became less and less and the price gets higher and higher. Ordered drinks delivery today it s also very terrible. Very disappointed tbh.
the beef shank is so tender the broth is so nice as well! so our favorite has to be the beef noodles. we also ordered the salt and pepper fried chicken which is good. chicken is quite juicy and tender. the environment is a little bit too noisy for my taste though. staff were very friendly and helpful.
Decent experience with this store. Beef noodle soup was not as flavourful and rich as we had hoped. Thr stir fry noodle were lukewarmish but still tasty. Combos that came with toast/harshbrown and various items , although some selection requires $ top up. Accepts cash and debit. If you pay with credit, you have to pay additional 2% of the card charges. Kid-friendliness: Hair chair and boosters available. Children get their own utensils as well as boba cup sealed water.
Very good food. We ordered rice noodles which were nice and chewy. Also had western classic combo with lamb skewers and yam fries which were crispy and delicious. Curry sauce gave lamb great flavour. Also had egg rice which had nice variety of ingredients. Server came by only once for glass refill. In room next to screaming kids
Only the braised large intestine was well processed and clean, and the rest was very poor. Maybe the business is so busy at night, so the food is handled casually. The iron plate has two kinds of dishes (chicken steak + roasted cumin lamb). The iron plate is not hot at all, the sauce does not sizzle at all when it is poured down, and the oily noodles are mushy! The fried stinky tofu is fried in advance and is neither crispy nor hot. The sweet and spicy version is not grilled at all, just lightly fried and served with a sauce. I ordered some grilled sweet and spicy takeout at noon two days ago. It was very well baked, soft and fragrant. This one is very hard and tasteless. Very disappointed! From this experience, it is highly not recommended to come at night.
Food taste is average and so overpriced .Their champion beef noodle is disappointing, beef shank is a bit tough and the taste is bland, score 6.5/10. Rice and pork chop is so so 7/10, lu ruo fan is nothing special 7.5/10, Taiwanese popcorn chicken is good but so expensive 8/10, Japanese fried rice is good 8.5/10, hainam chicken is disappointing 7/10. The biggest rip off is their special beef roll $8.99 and it was only 4 tiny size rolls 6/10. Looks like its under new management. For good Taiwanese restaurant, my choice will still be the small shop in front of the willingdon church.
Came here for breakfast because they have 2nd breakfast 50% off. Their breakfast combos start from $15.xx and up, every combo comes with a drink if I remember correctly. We ordered 2 combos, first one was the egg/sausage/toast (Taiwanese sausage add $2 extra), plus a dish of vermicelli and a drink. 2nd combo was a congee with vermicelli and a drink. To be honest, most people wouldn t be able to finish the amount of food. I wished they would offer breakfast in smaller portions and adjust the price accordingly. If it s not for the 50% off 2nd breakfast, I would not have come. It s ridiculous if I have to spend $20+ with tax and tips for a breakfast. One more thing to note, if you want to pay by credit card, they will charge 2% extra. So either pay with cash or debit card.
They have a great breakfast special buy one combo get one for 50% off. The food is pretty good and good quality. Most importantly the service was great and will definitely bring us back. Our server was named Edmond and he was so patient and helpful with us and accommodating the menu as my mother and I are vegetarian. He was really exceptional and I wish every server cared as much as he did.
Kid-friendliness: Very nice selection
This place is so good! I love the huge menu of food offerings, as well as their drink selection (hello, bubble tea). The service is consistently good and there s never a long wait for food. This is a great spot for dinner, or if you are in need of a late night snack.
I always enjoyed coming here with my kids and family. The food is good even for a westerners taste bud. The service is very kids friendly. The TV and music choice makes it inclusive for non Chinese people to enjoy the food and atmosphere here nicely (e.g. watch a hockey game). Parking: They share the parking lot with other restaurants. So typically you will get a spot easily. But there will be times that you will not get a parking spot, which also means you will have to wait for a seat at the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: This place is super kids - friendly. Lots of people bring their kids with them. They offer a kids menu, kids utensils and and drawing supplies. Wheelchair accessibility: The space is tight, so not a lot of wheelchair capabilities in the restaurant. You might want to call ahead to reserve the large room if youre needing space for wheelchairs.
Huge menu of authentically and lovingly prepared food. Prompt & professional servers with enormous hearts. Great vibes, especially late night. Get yourself here as often as possible
Food is now too expensive for what is offered. My beef noodle literally had 3 small pieces of beef and a cup of noodle . Same findings with the other dishes on the table we had. What happened? I don t remember it like this from before. The sister restaurant no.1 beef noodle is a thousand times better.
This place has an extensive menu. The fried squid is delicious and highly recommended. The eggplant dish and layered pork compliment each other.
The foods are delicious, and the staffs are warm, nice and helpful in recommending the gourmet that suits for us. I like the special spicy dried pot the most. My sister likes the sour cabbage fish hot pot. My brother-in-law really loves their hot grass jelly (desert after meal). And the new dish-crispy eggplant- is welcome by all of us. It is really a pleasant experience.
I am from Ontario and had lunch here while visiting with family (March 2024). It was a DELICIOUS and memorable meal! We tried some new dishes like the Taiwanese Style Soy Sauce Braised Pork Belly (with egg, tofu and mushroom pork ball), the MYST Special Spicy Dried Pot (cauliflower, spam, lotus root, wood ear mushroom, pork cheek, potato) and the Spicy Sour Cabbage Fish Hot Pot (my favourite of the meal because of the sourness and so many tasty ingredients such as tofu, glass noodles, fish, sichuan pepper, etc). These three dishes were truly delicious and I have never tasted anything similar before. The flavours and textures were impressive to a foodie like me. We also had some classic favourite dishes like the Assorted Deep Fried Basket B (the pork blood rice cake is so good), the Stir-Fried Green Bean with minced pork, and the XinJiang cumin Lamb Skewers. For dessert we had the Hot Grass Jelly with pearls, fresh taro and mini-Q taro bites. This generous portion dessert is served hot and the sweetness level is just right (it is low sweetness). The staff was friendly and accommodating. For example, they would regularly check that our pot of barley tea was not running low, and they cleared plates quickly & efficiently. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates Asian cuisine and authentic Taiwanese flavour profiles. As I said to my family, I really wish that Myst was also located in the city where I live! Thank you, Myst!
Food was good. So many things on the menu to the point where I ordered something from memory, the waitress asked me to point to where it was on the menu. After that, they still gave the wrong food (pork instead of chicken) which they offered to change. Otherwise good.
Plenty of dishes to choose from.
Delicious meal and friendly staff, think might have just found my new favourite restaurant!
Look, you know it s a good joint when the food comes to the table everyone takes a first bite and table goes quiet! I loved the red braised pork I had. A must: get the Taiwanese salty pepper chicken for the table.
Very tasty and good service
Service was great but food was average.
Overpriced asl, daylight robbery. Prices can t even be justified no more by inflation. Food is pretty good, mid service with a relatively clean interior
Every meal is delicious There are many customers at all times, it is always full and very popular.
This place has so many different dishes that their menu is like a big book. I had the szechuan spicy hot pot . Dim sum. I cant wait to try something new from their menu. Like other dim sum. The squid . The pork knuckle stuff. She had the vegetarian boring stuff as usual. Noodles or Rice and veggies. Booooring. They have some fancy desserts too. I missed taking the photo of it. It looked exactly like the photo on menu when they brang it out. Vegetarian options: All vegetarian options are clearly marked with a veggie icon
Quick service at lunch, food arrives very quickly. Big portions. Weekday breakfast deals before 1130am are unbelievable value. Taiwanese fried chicken nuggets are quite good.
Tried this Taiwanese style Fusion and heres my review. Food 5/5, service 3.5/5, atmosphere 4/5 only due to tight seating and loud inside. I had the hot plate today and it was most delicious with the egg noodles. Service lacked as likely due to being busy, once we had our orders taken and order served, the waiters were not going to check on you unless you ring for them even when not busy. I guess its a new style of service when you need it and not based on traditional service standards. I am used to tipping for service so this made it awkward to tip a percentage for someone taking my order and bringing my food as part of the job as a server. Regardless I still tipped a reasonable amount based on service which was slow as well since my finished plate remained on my table for nearly 5 minutes before someone came by to pick it up but didnt even ask if I needed anything else. All in all 4 out of 5 mainly for the most delicious food.
Omg so yummy and kind servers I was recommended this reataurant by Taiwanese friend I really liked here I ll go next time again
Occasionally they missed one item for BOGO on Uber
Very rude and bad staff every worker watches you just like u r their enemy coz you make them busy for eating food from their restaurant and specially the counter guy is most rude
Edmond is the best!
service , food, atmosphere, cleanliness were all really good. Would go back
Steak on a hot plate was very rubbery and was only about the size of a McRib patty. Other foods we had were great tho!
Indulge in the exquisite flavors of one of the towns beloved Taiwan-style beef noodle establishments. Revel in the richness of the broth, savor the tenderness of the beef, and explore a plethora of vegetable choices. The extensive menu offers a diverse selection, and the array of dessert options is sure to satisfy your sweet cravings.
Its a really tasty and hearty restaurant. My favorite dishes are fried rice and deep-fried items. When youre craving something greasy, be sure to have a glass of beer with your meal. If you ever find yourself in Burnaby, I highly recommend giving it a try.
They have a $10 min per person. Service was slow and they seemed not very friendly. We also were playing a game while waiting and they told us we weren t allowed to play.
The food was delicious and is consistently delicious. The portions are huge, perfect for sharing. So much variety. There will be something for even the pickiest eater. The menu seemed to have changed so I asked the server. She didnt know the menu and made no suggestions. The atmosphere is typical Asian restaurant, LOUD and cramped. Washrooms are 3/5 stars. It was clean but I wished there was a divider between the urinals. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options and the kitchen is accommodating. Dietary restrictions: Lots of dietary options and the kitchen is accommodating. Parking: Street parking is free and permitted after 6pm. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and high chair available. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, wheelchair accessible.
Like the varieties here, and the pork hock is just
Large variety of food and drinks to choose from. The portions are large. Very tasty food. Service was excellent. There is a ringer by your table if you want a server to attend to you or your questions & a bell when you want to pay your bill. If you order Dim Sum there is a 20 minute wait to get it. The smoothies are thick and delicious. Highly recommend this place. Vegetarian options: They have 2 pages of vegetarian options
Lots of selections. Great tasting food and service is top notch.
always
A little bit pricy
Myst is like a Taiwanese equivalent of a Cantonese café where the menu is so large and covers almost every cuisine you can think of with an Asian twist. Like most Cantonese cafés, everything on the menu is just mediocre nothing Special and nothing to complain about. It s a good stop to go if you have a group of people that are feeling like different Asian food - the menu pretty much has everything covered.
Very interesting menu
Tables are definitely too tall for eating. The food tastes isnt bad but way too much oil..... A LOT. The atmosphere is very busy. Ppl running around in a hurry all the time. Parking is the most problematic issue to go to this resturant.
Very good, big menu, amazing chinese dishes.
Amazing selection of dishes here. Everything was very tasty and nicely presented. It is a busy place but the staff handle it q byuite well.
Quite the flashy restaurant. The service was great as usual. Many of the food here are actually quite oily and fatty so I wouldnt recommend it if youre counting your nutritional numbers. The food here is generally good, I dont have any complain as a matter of fact. The food is great, good service and lively experience.
I tried several dishes and they were all delicious. Highly recommended! I also ordered the lunch box via UberEat and they were really good also!
Great Taiwanese comfort food. A good selection of street food. Be aware it seems that EVERYTHING deep fried is fried in the same oil vat. So the vegetarian option with deep fried bean curd is cooked in the same oil as the deep fried pork chops. Tonight I had the Thai green curry with chicken. It was excellent. I tried someone elses beef stew with beef tendon. It was also excellent. My kids devoured a basket of deep fried goodies as well as a chocolate lava cake and a strawberry jello dessert.
Food was good but a bit salty.
Love this place! Menu has so many selections I had hard time choosing. Would definitely come back! Very innovative, always comes out with new menu items to add onto their extensive list of foods and drinks.
Good food, Noodles and rice dishes.. service is good..
