The Vista by Chef Denis in Caledon Village

The service was good; but very overpriced for what it was. Food did not taste fresh. Better options in the region.

Was very disappointed with my experience here. The food was average at best for the price of the meal. Service was good and attentive and the ambience was not as nice as the pictures make it. I understand it s hard to rate a restaurant on only one visit but I can t bring myself to give it another try where I know for $750 (party of 4) there are many other options where I have never been disappointed like this.

I usually don t give bad reviews but I have too .we travelled 50 mins to this place .Been here for first time as recommended by our friend . I literally ignored their behaviour 2-3 times the way they spoke to us ,receptionist was helpful but other staff was so rude , unprofessional, showed us a bad attitude.

The service was reasonable, but we were the only customers in the establishment, so its hard to tell what is like when its busy. The building and surroundings are beautiful. The food is mediocre for the price -- not bad but nothing special.

Went for brunch for fathers day, first time there. i don,t mind paying a higher price for good food, but this wasnt up to par, Gravalax was good but 3 slices didnt really feed me, The eggs benedict was meh for $29, fairly dry and not enough hollandaise, served with a side of what seemed to be canned maple syrup bean, and dry cubes potatoes. Just an idea.. local asparagus and tomatoes are in season Not worth the cost really Over $200 for 4 ppl for brunch with only 1 alcoholic drink is a bit excessive Most likely not gonna try the dinner

Family members travelled from near and far to convene at the Vista to celebrate a milestone birthday with all 3 generations present. Vista staff were exceptionally accommodating and went above and beyond to make our celebration all that it could be. The food was fantastic and the prices were very reasonable. Most of all, the staff, and in particular our server/hostess Angelique took care of our every need and made the dinner so enjoyable. Thank you The Vista staff for a lovely evening. Top marks, all around.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This did not feel like a fancy restaurant and it was super cold! My main issue though was the food. Nothing paired well with each other, everything lacked flavour and was over cooked and dry. I truly don t know how this place has the ratings it does. Not only would I give it poor review but I really would recommend NEVER coming here.

We went for dinner on New Years Eve, and everything was great from the time we arrived to the time we left. The grounds and building were picturesque, and they had complimentary valet parking as we pulled up. There was a band playing soft music during dinner and the atmosphere was great. We ordered the seafood tapas, prime beef rib, and lamb chops, which were all incredible. We also had a very large shareable dessert and a few cocktails that were all very good. The service was incredible as well. I highly recommend The Vista for dinner for a special occasion or a night out. We look forward to returning and enjoying the view during the day.

We went yesterday for New Years and had a terrible experience I don t know who is cooking or approves the meals before they are served but we ordered the halibut and it looked and tasted like it was left in the fridge over night fish was so over cooked and you can tell the fish soup at the bottom wasn t prepared it was pre made at-least a day before. Took 15 min to get a drink. This is unacceptable. If you are looking for quality of food I would suggest another 5 min ride to grey-stones in Orangville.

Gorgeous place to have dinner, spa, or wedding. My family and I came here after seeing their story on the local newspaper. We drove an hour to get there and it was well worth it. Secluded. Nice view. The decor is top end. Lots of sunlight and surprisingly, large portions. Will be back!

I would describe the overall experience as meh. Definitely did not meet the expectations of a fine dining restaurants and was far overpriced relative to the value. The restaurant sits on lovely grounds and is beautifully lit in the evening so the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately we found the food and service to be below expectations across the board. On the service side, everything was incredibly slow. Our water was never refilled and our waitress was hardly ever around so impossible to flag down. She was a lovely and kind waitress but there was just no one monitoring to see if drinks were low and proactively bring water. It took 20 mins to get any water and it took 40 mins for them to bring us the bread we asked for the start. I have never waited so long for bread in my life. On the food side everything was just bland and lacked a depth of flavor. The baked oysters were fairly good but the french onion soup, bread boule, chicken supreme and beef short ribs were all just meh. Mains were served with cold unseasoned vegetables and nearly every component lacked any seasoning or flavor complexity. I have notes on nearly every dish but it really just boils down to a lack of skill in the kitchen to deliver a flavorful meal. We did enjoy the drinks, the Blood Orange mocktail was quite nice. Compliments to the bar. I do want to note they did take one of the mains off our bill when we noted it was a bit lacking in flavor so that was redeeming but there were just so many elements that missed the mark, not just one dish. By the end of the experience I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible and never come back. Plus my husband got food poisoning later in the evening following the dinner so that was unpleasant as well.

When in Caledon, be sure to add this restaurant to your list! The Vista restaurant is a contemporary fine dining restaurant located in Caledon at Mount Alverno. Here, they specialize in traditional Canadian cuisine with a French twist. I would highly recommend the trip up to Caledon to try this place. Such incredible views that you wouldn t get in the city. The staff are quite friendly as well. The food is not amazing but pretty good. The cocktails are are delicious and deliver a punch. My only comment is with the dining area , it has classy furniture, but it s very empty and makes you feel like you re sitting in the cafeteria. They need to do more to fill up the void.

Went for Easter brunch with the family, didn t know what to expect, it exceeded every expectation. It is very beautiful inside and out, the staff were very helpful all the way through. The buffet food was outstanding, I started with an omelette which was fresh and delicious. (Sorry omelette guy you need more practise) his flipping needed practice but it was delicious. The ham and prime rib were perfect, everyone had a great meal, we ll be going for dinner here soon .go see this place!

Thank you for an excellent celebration meal. From the moment we entered the building, and were greeted at the front door, the service was exceptional. The meal itself was perfect - presentation, taste and portion size were all top notch. We had a group of 6 - and while all of the dishes were savory, special mention for the tuna appetizer, the Angus steak and walleye-pickerel. The setting is stunning. The grounds are currently under construction as they add a wedding venue and spa. Overall, a great experience.

This place gets 2 stars for creating expectations but not living up to them. Decent views (but not that special really). Modern contemporary building (but not really luxurious finishings). Intriguing looking menu (but woefully pedestrian result). Food is extremely over-priced when considering the execution and ingredients. We were disappointed with every element of the experience the best way I can sum up this review is to say this was a real lipstick on a pig situation.

I loved my experience at The Vista. The place is beautiful, the food is absolutely delicious and the service is top notch.

I had been planning to go here for a while but my expectations were not high when I looked at the online lunch menu. Very little stood out. Sadly, even my low expectations were not met. Frankly, the food was terrible, both the chicken sandwich and the pickerel on bread. The chicken was particularly tough and unappealing, and there wasn t a green leaf in sight. This would barely pass muster at a diner. We won t be going back.

This place is amazing has breathtaking views as well as amazing Service. Cindy our server was very professional and informative. She explained the whole property and all it has to offer. Vegetarian options: Vegan and Gluten-free options are great.

We got to experience the wonderful ambiance from the patio seating and enjoyed the stunning views of caledon hills. My husband i and came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and our server Cindy, took such wonderful care of us. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and her suggestions were perfect! She took great care of us and made sure we had a wonderful time. We will definitely be recommending The Vistas and Cindy to our friends and family. We look forward to coming back. So glad we found this gem. We both had the Jaricot burger and it was just amazing! We can t wait to go back and enjoy the beautiful patio when it opens. Update: We have since returned a number of times now for dinners and even their Easter brunch and each visit did not disappoint. Food is always well made and delicious. We will keep going back for sure.

My family ordered a chicken family meal, for my husbands 60th birthday, the chef was really cooperative to things we wanted and very large portions. We had left overs for the next night. First time going to the vista went for dinner with husband and child on this past Friday. Beautiful restaurant very clean elegant and relaxing vibe. Our server was Jacqueline she was very friendly and polite. She gave us great drink suggestions and food suggestions. Drinks were amazing and the food out of this world. Very fresh very tasty. We even got to meet and speak with chef he was very polite as well he was very thankful for us coming to the restaurant. We will definitely be going back soon.

We had a lovely and tasty dinner last Saturday at the Vista. The food was very good and the service was perfect. My fish was missing a bit of cooking and they went above and beyond to replace it and make sure we had a great dinner together with a huge discount on the bill. You won t be disappointed. Thanks to the staff there and especially our waiter.

Finally made it out to check out the indoor dining space which was stunning and the food was delicious. Presentation of the drinks was exceptional.

Atrocious food and exceptionally expensive (for what it is). Sad because the venue has potential. Gummy overdone pasta, bland salads, fatty cuts of meat, brown tuna tartare and squid ink pasta that tasted just gross. This place is a cash cow for wedding venues but gets an F for a La Carte dining. I can t believe this disappointing meal. Absolutely gross. Will NEVER come back would HIGHLY discourage anyone from dining there. Be weary of all the fake reviews

Great but not spectacular. The service was amazing though.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Kale Cesar salad had no kale, took about 45 minutes for get a chicken Cesar and no on was in the restaurant. To be honest, it looks like a great idea, but they ran out of money. Marble everywhere but poorly installed. The fit and finishes are poorly done. The place could be great and the area could surely use it, but it looks like they re headed for failure.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere! The foie Gras was delicious. Our cocktails were delicious and our dessert which was I believe Sweet endings or around those lines was spectacular and lastly our waiter was very pleasant! This is quite a new place. This restaurant is part of a resort that is still being built and you can tell that once done, this area will be quite an experience. I truly recommend stopping by this restaurant and enjoy a moment with friends and/or loved ones.

Dinner was delicious especially the truffle honey with the bread. Highly recommend and would come back again when it s fully done.

Presentation was good but food was pedestrian. Greeted by a young girl with no personality; not even a smile. For the cost only the view was worth mentioning. Cant beat the hills of Caledon. Unfortunately the experience didnt do justice.

We had quite an array of food with my personal favourites being the fettucine and the lamb. Outstanding service and an excellent dining area in such a beautiful building. My husband and I had dinner here tonight and really enjoyed ourselves. The menu is really well marked with vegan, gluten-free and nut-free. Being vegan, I really appreciated that! Food was delicious. We had Cindy as our server and she was very attentive, friendly and excellent customer service. The restaurant manager, Dhira, also checked in on us regularly. She was very personable and responsive. We had drinks by the fire pit table after which was really romantic. We will definitely be back. Well done team!

I have now enjoyed lunch at the Vista multiple times, as well as dinner, and I and my guests have been very impressed. Service is excellent, attention to detail is clearly paramount and the food is exceptional. Cocktail and wine selections are excellent, and the wine experience is complete with the expertise of a sommelier, who is lovely to interact with. Highly recommend The Vista.

We had our Anniversary dinner here just over the weekend. As if we booked the whole restaurant to ourselves. Service was great. Food was nothing special. It a nice place to have a great Autumn view. This is a great place if you want to stay away from the City noise.

Today we had the pleasure of having a burger brought to our dealership from the owners of The Vista for us to try and review the burger and I can honestly say this is was of the best hamburgers I have ever had !! Everything was super fresh and it tasted amazing! I will definitely be telling people about this place and will be ordering lunch from here!

We ordered the Jaricot Burger last night with a side kale Caesar salad. BEST BURGER ever! Why would you ever go to a fast food joint again when you can have a locally prepared, fresh made burger, lovingly assembled and packaged for takeout. Salad was also amazing, but truthfully the burgers and accompanying sides filled us up, so only order a side salad if you haven t eaten in days. And to top it off, a special treat of Chef s biscotti was added to our order to enjoy with a coffee. Truly a great local establishment. Give it a try!!

We picked up takeout here during COVID lockdown. It is hands down the best burger Ive had in the GTA. Everything else was also awesome. We cant wait to eat here in person when things open up!

We had the pleasure of trying some delightful burgers today (one vegetarian and one beef) and they truly hit the spot. The house made condiment was very tasty and I loved the compostable packaging. We just had dinner delivered to us tonight. The entire meal was great. We were hesitant to get roast beef delivered by a restaurant 15to 20 minutes away. But they did a great job on the beef, cooked exactly as ordered. the salad, the potatoes and dessert were all good. Would highly recommend. And the deal they have with Illgoforit from Orangeville for delivery got the meal here within 5 minutes of our planned delivery time. Well done.

Had an opportunity to try out the Jericot Burger recently and it was fantastic! Loved the garlic aioli spread, the perfect amount of cheese and the fries were great as well! I would definitely recommend this burger to anyone looking to try something local and new!

We found The Vista while looking for takeout options close to us. So glad we tried it out! We all had the Jaricot burger w/ fries, house made ketchup (which was excellent), and a really great peppery slaw. One of the best burgers Ive had the pleasure of eating! We all had the kale caesar salad as well which was really nice - everyone enjoyed. Apple crumble desserts were good but the real stunner was the mocha almond ganache biscuit with mango compote - wow!! Service was really friendly, easy to pick up and felt like they were being very safe. We will absolutely be back in and hope to dine at the resort when things open back up. Nice to find something like this outside of the city.

My wife chose this restaurant for our 5th wedding anniversary, so glad she did. I had the short ribs (fantastic) and my wife had the strip loin. Visiting Hockley Valley for the first time and stumbled upon this gem. Ordered Jaricot burgers for my wife and I, and it was absolutely a steal for the limited time price. Not only do you have custom options for how you like your burger cooked, but the amount of special toppings on it is astounding. Typical burgers with that amount of quality toppings can easily go for much more expensive if it was in the city. From what I remember - red peppers, caramelized onions, aioli, cheese, bacon, spring mix greens, pickles. Coleslaw was perfect, not too sour, not too creamy, and very well prepared. Called in the order, paid via cc on the phone, had a waiter with my order at the doorstep of the restaurant so felt completely physically distanced safe. Building looks gorgeous outside, both my wife and I agreed that we will definitely be back to Orangeville, just to have a date night here. Chef Denis, keep doing what youre doing. Bravo.

Just enjoyed the shrimp and gnocchi family meal from The Vista. The food was delivered on time by a super friendly driver and was very hot! Everything tasted delicious and the portion size was very generous. Can t wait to try other menu items. This is an amazing option for takeout or delivery!

Over this past year, my family has made a consistent effort to eat takeout once a week as a means of supporting local businesses; We have not had a meal quite like the one made by you at The Vista. Personally, I ordered the black bean burger with some sides for my family to share: I chose the parmesan, potato and swiss chard pie, fried onions and wilted greens, and the vegetable chips. Soft on the inside with a clean crisp outer layer, the pie crust, fries and fried onions seamlessly impressed me. As for the wilted greens and vegetable chips, I work locally at a small organic farm, and understand the respect that a good vegetable deserves; I was truly impressed by the ability to wilt and crispen vegetables without having them lose their desired freshness. Regarding the black bean burger, I have tried plant-based burgers throughout Orangeville, Caledon, Mono, Mansfield and Collingwood, and this was undeniably the best (I found myself looking longingly over at my moms burger after finishing my own). I was pleasantly surprised by what followed the meal when I opened the compliments of the chef and was thankful to enjoy some biscotti, which had a well-balanced flavour and a satisfying crunch. All of this at a very reasonable and customer-friendly price. However great the food was, I must be honest about an unexpected surprise: I was elated to learn that all the packaging is compostable because, as a family that values both the environment and local business, it has often been a struggle to strike a balance in the waste bin. I would like to thank the chef, kitchen staff and whoever is responsible for the convenient takeout system and sustainable packaging. We will be sure to return and spread the word of this great local gem.

Amazing food! Ordered pickup and by the time we got to our house 10 mins away the food was still warm and great as everything was wrapped and sealed. I ordered the black bean burger which was fantastic and a very generous portion!! My boyfriend ordered the veal sandwich and was amazed at how much food he got and how good it was. Definitely a great choice and will be ordering from here again :)

If I could give The Vista more than five stars, I would! Tonight we ordered the Four Pound Beef/Striploin meal for 5, The Jaricot Burger and a side of Root Vegetable Chips. The meals came with an abundance of delicious sides including Caesar Salad, Vegetables, Garlic Bread, and Parmesean Potato Swiss Chard Pie, with brownies for dessert! The food was hot and full of flavour absolutely delicious! There were huge portions and easily enough to feed 10 people. The whole family loved every bit of our dinner and cannot wait to order again! What an amazing new addition to Caledon. After the first 5 minutes of arriving at the property, my girlfriend and I decided immediately this is the place we want to get married. Amazing food, phenomenal service and serine views. The food and wine menu is tasteful, complimentary and well suited for family outings, a burger with friends or a date night. Happy to have found my new favourite spot. Thanks for the great time will look forward to our next visit.

The food was tasty, not to much on the menu for a person that has seafood and gluten allergy. I ordered the steak tasty but for the price should come with local veggies instead of paying for a side. Patio is great with a great view

We had a fabulous evening with friends at The Vista last evening, a new hidden gem in Caledon. The surroundings, view and ambience were all wonderful. The host Christopher and his team went over the top to make us feel welcomed. And then of course there is the food which was superb and cooked to perfection! We tried a variety of satays, the chicken supreme, the Walleye and lamb. It was all amazing! Thanks Christopher for such wonderful hospitality. We will definitely come back for more food and a tour!

this restaurant is a 2 dressed up as 5. if you are a foodie you will be dissappointed.Our server was green and was more interested in practicing his jokes than learning the menu and ensuring a great dining experience. . wine offering is extremely limited and you cannot bring your own wine. Our salad came out with our main course ! So much for an intimate anniversary dinner, which we had advised the restaurant and server of the occasion. No effort to make it special. We arrived at 6:30 pm and the lamb chops were sold out ??? I advised when booking that I was lactose as well when we arrived and we were brought a dessert with dairy. very disappointing experience

Poor service and food was not worth the money. Took a long time to bring out food, did not come out to check up on us, and waited long for a host to great us after going inside mistakenly to be seated. Mosquitoes after sunset were annoying. Person in front of us when paying was asked how the evening was and we were not asked, otherwise we would have voiced our disappointment in the experience. This place has potential to be great, but have a long long way to go.

Amazing new venue with a terrific restaurant with a very nice view. The food was really good, and the service was excellent. If you are bringing a toddler, you will need to bring your own seat for them as currently they do not have a child seat available.

Excellent food and service, we tried the wild boar and bison burger, the mussels, and the octopus pasta - all of them were incredible. Have the tapas for appetizer, you wont regret it. Very friendly service too.

We visited the Vista on a Sunday evening and it was a perfect getaway. The lush green location is a mesmerizing retreat from the bustling city life. The patio is perfect for summer evenings. It is designed to cater to the changing weather throughout the year. The Vista by Chef Denis Jaricot is a contemporary, fine-dining restaurant that specializes in traditional Canadian Cuisine with a French zing. Situated at the heart lake road, the drive to the Vista is scenic. Michelin Star trained Executive Chef Denis Jaricot is no less than a magician. We started the meal with Kale and Romaine Caesar Salad loaded with Prosciutto ham crisps and Parmesan Croutons, pairing it with Prosecco for a wonderful evening. Gazing at the treeline, we munched the refreshing, crunchy salad. I was tempted to opt for the Headwaters Satay. There were multiple options to pick from. I chose Wild Shrimp and Salmon :) The marination was distinct and the flavors oozed in every bite. Next up, the chicken supreme and the mimosa was a match made in paradise. Free range chicken supreme is nut-free, gluten-free and dairy-free. The dressing in forage mushrooms, cheese curds and mushroom cream sauce is delicious. A Capuchin Chocolate Ganache - Mocha Almond Biscuit with mango salsa followed. There couldnt be a better way to end the meal. The Vista is a popular destination for a delicious meal. If you are looking to add some flavor to your monotonous routine or searching for your next destination for a special occasion, I would recommend dinning in at the Vista. Kudos to Nipun and team for a wonderful time. Cant wait to experience the magical views at the Vista this fall. Youll love every bit of it the way we did. Cheers

We visited last night and were pretty disappointed with the food. Nice lobby and bar area, but the patio was just ok. The food looked nice on the plate, but was pretty bland. We ordered the pasta as a side and basically received a watery bowl of flavourless noodles. Very overpriced for what they are serving.

We visited this evening and were very impressed by the grounds and building. Unfortunately this was only highlight of the evening. The 5 of us ordered the mussels, chicken, fettuccine pasta and game burger along with several appetizers. All of which were best described as poorly cooked and tasteless. It is unfortunate that the venue lacks the culinary support to prolonged its existence.

I would give it a 6 star if I could. Amazing food and service

We had our girlfriends night here, from start to finish, the service was excellent. My favorite the lamb dinner and the chocolate dessert . i wanted more. ( I dont eat sweets). All my pallets , open up. Chef Denis, thank you. i will definitely return. Thank you.

Ive been to The Vista Restaurant twice- once was for take out when they first opened during covid, and 2nd time was a beautiful patio dining experience tonight! Both times I really enjoyed the food, and the food comes out piping hot! Chef Denis Jaricot and team are absolutely amazing :D About an hour drive from Toronto, The Vista at Mount Alverno Luxury Resort is located on 100 acres of privately owned land. It is the perfect spot for weddings, celebrations, and getaways! For Takeout: We ordered the signature Jaricot Burger with 8oz Canadian Angus Beef, and it was excellent! We also loved the side of Kale & Romaine Caesar, Root Veggie Chips, and Decadent Mac n Cheese (must order, even though it is on the kids menu lol) For Patio dining: I love that they have mocktails! The Sparkling Blood Orange was tasty! Id recommend ordering Wild Red Prawn Poutine to start... it was SO GOOD! The prawns were grilled to perfection, and the garlic fingerling potatoes were covered with delicious cheese curd and sauce! Entree, Id highly recommend the double Lamb Chops with the eggplant mash! I seriously cant wait to come back during the Fall season to see the magnificent view of fall foliage! Im so excited to see the new changes and updates, and hopefully get to stay for a getaway ^^ Rooms are currently not available due to covid. The property is still in development; they are working on a glass conservatory, individual chalets/cottages, hiking trails, and eventually a spa experience :D!

Simply Delicious Lobster Puff pastry! The light and flaky pastry covered a beautifully seasoned lobster in saffron.The aoili was a nice addition to an already heavenly meal, I almost didnt try it as the lobster pastry was the star and what a star! We are defintely ordering again and looking forward to dining in. The Director of Food and Beverage, Paula greeted us at the entrance and was kind enough to give us a tour of the property. 5 star plus!!! Luxury facilites, dining room, lounge and stunning rooms the best in the area. The Vista says it all... the view is amazing! Highly recommended.
