Murrieta's in Calgary, Alberta is one of the most popular places to dine for those who are looking for a fine meal out. The eatery serves lunch and dinner in a beautiful setting with great ambiance. You can even enjoy our balcony patio, weather permitting. Some of the options at Murrieta's in Calgary include the forno baked bread, calamari, fresh shucked oysters and the lamb meatballs. The eatery offers pizza as well as a late-night menu. Pasta and fish options also available. Some of the other popular choices at Murrieta's in Calgary include the roasted half chicken and the finest Alberta beef.
The food was absolutely delightful! I had the spaghetti and lamb meatballs for lunch, and their carrot cake, which I usually am not a fan of, but the chef's unique interpretation made it an exceptional dessert. The meatballs were incredibly moist and flavorful. My only minor critique is that the pasta could have been cooked a bit more. As for the service, our waiter was rather inattentive. We could have left 30 minutes earlier if we had not been waiting for him to appear. I was not impressed with the service, but fortunately, the delicious food made up for it. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future.
Great for a special dinner. Brick and stone surfaces add atmosphere but make it very noisy. Service and food was excellent. Not your common boring menu items.
If you are looking for a place with history and European vibes. A place so friendly, a place to spend time to relax. I would suggest having coffee or wine on the terrace. Daisy Than welcomed me today, she is the manager of this fine establishment and I should say this is a memory I will not forget. I was in Calgary for business today, and this is one of the best experiences. Everyone should at least try it once!
The food and service are always prompt and top quality. You also can have lunch in less than an hour. I love it for business or personal meals. Just a staple of downtown
We ordered the corn chowder ( $14) and the scallop fettuccine ($37) for delivery. This was for two people, and we split both dishes. The corn chowder was delicious and flavorful. The scallop fettuccine was disappointing, for the price. It had nice flavors, but there was way too much olive oil. I couldn't finish my half of the pasta because the oil was overwhelming.
Great service. Very fancy and neat inside. Just came for a snack and drinks and ended up trying a dessert as well. Definitely a good choice if downtown.
Such a great atmosphere here they have built I between historic buildings. Piper our server was very friendly and had lots of great suggestions. The food was really delicious and the drinks very unique. So many things on the menu we still want to try. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great date night.
We had a fantastic time at Murietta's West Coast Bar & Grill! The atmosphere was vintage and classy, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The menu offered a diverse range of delicious options. I particularly enjoyed the flavorful Polenta Fries and the Trio Dip, not to mention the steak that was cooked to perfection. The drinks were also impressive, which added to the overall dining experience. The restaurant's attention to detail and commitment to quality make it a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience on the Calgary downtown core!
We really enjoyed the appetizers and the wine selection was really good. The Ahi Tuna was yummy The whipped ricotta was one of my favorite appetizers Ive had The lamb duo was excellent. The Pizza wasnt out favorite.
Very poor service, waited for close to a hour for the meal then finally left. Won t be going back anytime soon. If I could rate the service at zero stars I would.
Love this restaurant! We visited here for a holiday dinner and the food was great, the service spectacular, and wine list impressive. You MUST try the brussel sprouts.
I love this place! Great place to bring clients for business lunch, but when they see split pea soup over the best corn chowder that was good enough to be signature dish, they look at me funny! BRING BACK THE CORN CHOWDER! Cmon Daisy!!!
Murrietas Bar & Grill: 808 First St Southwest Calgary, Alberta inside the Alberta Hotel Bldg. Hidden in the corner of a building its a nice decorated old-school restaurant with affordable prices. Serves lunch and dinner in a beautiful setting with great ambiance. The forno baked bread and the lamb meatballs were delicious. Coming back to try wild boar chops
We arrived late and they were getting close to last call and we wanted to sit and chat so we didnt actually eat anything but the atmosphere seemed really nice and the people who were serving or helping us were really really friendly and we definitely would come back
Havent been there in a few years, do they still have dancing on Friday and Saturday?
Delicious food and cocktails. Appetizers, main course, and dessert were outstanding!
One of my favourite place in Calgary. The food is incredibly delicious, especially the pizza with jamon. various cool promotions every day
First time there. Wife was there 20 years ago so looking forward to it after moving to Calgary. Server told us it was her fist time opening a corked bottle of wine. Interesting. Meal arrived fine but cutlery was behind by just a second. Used my appetizer fork instead of the desert fork that was provided for steak though. Was given the wrong bill upon cash out...that was fixed after an adjustment but we were trying to catch a show. Not what we expected for a place with its perceived atmosphere.
Booked a dinner reservation for work. The food, service and atmosphere was great, everyone was very pleased!
Hapoy hour pizza was tasty! Arancini just good.
New menu is a major downgrade. Calamari was soggy from bed of sauce and lacked flavor. Pizza had very little toppings and the service was sub par. The pesto gnocchi was the only decent dish. Big disappointment when compared to their summer menu. Cactus Club is a much better option for a $200 meal for two.
Good food
Could be a great spot if the staff had some social etiquette or a personality. Food was greasy and oily, not what industry standard is for the price point. Cocktail was served in a dirty glass with foul odour.
One of our favourite places to eat! The dining room is a unique outdoor brought inside feel with all the brick and stone and skylights. Great food and great cocktails.
Always good here. Great food, great service.
Celebrated my bday there last weekend for a party of 8. Arrived around 815pm. The service was extremely slow . The waiter was slow, and acted annoyed the whole time serving us..The whole energy of the place felt like I was at a funeral rather than celebrating my birthday . The place was empty so there was no reason for delays ... ontop of it they tried charging my guests 4$ each for cake cutting cost ( they told me it was 2.50.on the phone) when i brought this up.to management he starting arguing with me . Eventually charging us the 2.50 they told me they would cut the cake in the back instead my husband ended up cutting the cake . The whole experience was horrible. Luckily we had better plans at Mister M for dancing that made up for the experience at marrieettas. Never again will we ever go there . I do not recommend this place . Horrible energy. Worst service . Empty . Oh and let me say no.Air conditioning to top it off .
Really great place. Loved the ambience. The best part was the food and the hospitality shown by Souparno, the AGM and his team. Will come back again
Excellent atmosphere, food and service, all competitively priced. Nice little balcony overlooking Stephen Ave. Something for everyone. Recommend to all.
An amazing experience for our 20th anniversary. The staff, Jo, was super knowledgeable and the food amazing.
Before last week, the last time I had been here was 20 years ago, almost exactly, for a special dinner. This time, we just came with friends. What an impressive evening! Food & cocktails were delicious and impressive without being too fussy. Staff was attentive, kind, and professional, without being pretentious. The setting is, of course, gorgeous. Murrietas has had this kind of longevity for a reason! Great job, I look forward to coming back.
We brought a group here for a celebratory dinner, and the staff was incredible. Basma took care of us with grace and delicious food. We will come back again!
We came without a reservation with a party of 10 and they managed to find two tables next to each other to accommodate us. Everyone enjoyed the service and the food.
Booked a reservation 2 hours in advance. They gave away our table, and when there, told us we had to wait until someone left
Spent $30 on some pasta and it came with about half a cup of grease at the bottom. More fat than a McDonald s meal
This place in years past was amazing it has gone downhill and past its prime
The food and atmosphere is great. But the service is slow and my order was wrong twice.
Extremely poor customer service, totally unprofessional.
Always a fun night out. Great with girlfriends for drinks or romantic date night. We love to stay for the live band and dancing thereafter. Not many places in YYC offer this and they do it well
Atmosphere was kinda cool/interesting. Just a little too echoey for our elderly parents. That said, staff were all wonderful and accomodating. Food was fine, just not as good as expected.
It was a 5-star experience tonight. The menu is what one would expect from a bar-and-grill establishment, but the quality is outstanding, and the service is prompt and attentive. We shall definitely return for another special occasion.
Should probably avoid if you are a person of a minority ethnicity. Imagine this: youre enjoying a post-work beverage, engrossed in a stimulating conversation about Maxwells Laws with a fellow patron. Suddenly, a shrill voice pierces the pleasant hum of conversation. A woman, clearly out of sorts (and likely a few drinks deep), accuses you of the outrageous crime of... glancing in her direction. Apparently, in the bizarre world of Muriettas basic human functions like peripheral vision are a form of espionage. The most flabbergasting part? The bar manager, reeking of mediocrity and a complete lack of judgment, sides with this unhinged, paranoid patron. Here I was, discussing the fundamental forces of the universe, and they choose to coddle a woman whose grasp on reality seems to loosen with every cocktail. The whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth, a taste that transcended the dubious quality of their overpriced beer. Lets just say, the only laws of physics being defied at Muriettas are those of common courtesy and basic human decency. If you value intellectual discourse and a welcoming atmosphere, this petri dish of ignorance and thinly veiled prejudice /racism is best avoided. I do not know what social class for sure, but based on her dress demeanor She is probably some mere secretary or marketing- pink collar worker. I am a complete class apart. If she worked for my company. This would be fireable offense. MANAGEMENT WAS UNPROFESSIONAL AND SEEMED TO TAKE A SIDE WITHOUT KNOWING THE FULL STORY. Never felt this belittled and humiliated in my entire life!
This place is the bomb and Daisy is a legend. I can t say enough good things about this restaurant and her. Thank you for existing. Much love. I recommend them to everyone.
Decent.
The filet and salmon were a pure disappointment and way overpriced.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE honestly from start to finish was a mess. We go in with a group of 4 and get seated in the lounge, take note that there was no more than 10 people in the ENTIRE restaurant. We order our drinks which take about 20-30 minutes to come which was honestly a start to a bad experience. Were all understanding at the fact that our server may have had other tables that she was helping, mind you two of the people in our group in the serving industry so again were very understanding but 20 to 30 minutes for a drink in an empty restaurant is not acceptable. Once we got the drinks we looked through the menu, that we were told had just come out today, and let me tell you they should probably switch back to their Old menu. I originally wanted the brisket, but was told by the server that they didnt have enough room in the oven to put the brisket in so therefore we werent serving it today and then went on to blame it on the fact that they just came out with a new menu today, I brush past that and got Lamb spaghetti instead which I was told by the server comes in two portions, the appetizer portion and the regular portion so I went with the appetizer portion hoping for just a half sides of the spaghetti. We also get gnocchi, Brussel sprouts, and muscles. upon receiving my spaghetti that took a total of 30 to 40 minutes to arrive In an empty restaurant, I saw no pasta- what I had gotten was a tiny skillet with meatballs. I was extremely upset after being completely misled by the server. The meatballs were lukewarm. The muscles were extremely cold and also had hair in it, we were looking around the restaurant for the server for a very long time as she didnt check on us throughout the entire experience. We finally got a hold of our server told her about the hair and she responds very casually oh, sorry takes the plate & doesnt say anything. A couple moments later a man in a suit came out, introduced himself as the assistant manager, apologized for the situation, and asked us if we wanted another set of muscles or anything else because of the incident. We said no then he asked us about dessert and INSISTED on us getting a dessert so we have a look at the menu and collectively we agree to try the carrot cake. And thats honestly where we went wrong, we shouldve left after the hair. Once again 20 to 30 minutes go by, server comes out with a little circular ball that appears to be a cake pop on top of a cookie were very confused and she explains that the cake is under all the icing. Needless to say it wasnt great. We get our bills, again, after waiting very long time to even get the servers attention, and our surprise the cake was split amongst the four of us. One of us mentioned this to the server as we assumed after being forced to get a replacement for the muscles that this would be covered she then responds oh the muscles were taken off and also goes on to say sorry Im not management. I cant really controlled whats taken care of and whats not thinking that was an adequate response as to why we were paying for the carrot cake that we were forced to get by the assistant manager after having hair in our cold muscles. Overall, the experience was horrible, the food wasnt great, it was very overpriced for less than mediocre food, the server wasnt accommodating or polite. I would never come back to this restaurant or recommend anyone go there. We left upset and hungry
I found the service to be very slow. When we sat down it was quite a wait for her to appear to ask if we would like water. While we were waiting I was looking over the menu to see what I think I would like to order and what dishes I might need to get more information on as I am a Celiac and cant consume wheat, barley or rye. When the server finally did come back to our table with water I asked her what items were gluten free, and she seemed genuinely annoyed with this inquiry. Dont get me wrong I know that going gluten free seems to be trendy right not but I was not asking for fun, I have an auto immune disease that wreaks havoc on my body when gluten is consumed. Would she have been annoyed if I told her I had a nut allergy? I didnt find her to be very helpful in explaining the menu options that would be safe for me. She told me pizza and pasta. I mentioned I was looking towards the Buttermilk Marinated Chicken Supreme, I did see it included perogies but I was hoping she would offer a substitute for maybe a rice or potatoes based side, but all I was met with was No, you couldnt have that. I was a little taken aback by this as I have been to numerous fine and casual dining establishments since my diagnosis September 2010 and have been accommodated quite well. I inquired if the pasta in the Quinoa & Snap Pea Sauteé was actually pasta made from Quinoa or was it gluten free pasta with Quinoa as part of the dish. I was informed it was Quinoa pasta. I thought I would give that a whirl as I have heard of Quinoa pasta but have yet to try it, I was quite excited actually. My fiancé ordered the Buttermilk Marinated Chicken Supreme however after sometime our server came back to inform him it was no longer available. Should she have not known this BEFORE she took our order? She didnt even bring him a menu to review again for another selection; he had to do it from memory. Also the guest of honour was informed that she could not have the crab cakes she had ordered as an appetizer as they too were unavailable. The server than brought bread to our table and as she set it right in front of me she said I know you cant have this. Gee thanks for the reminder. It was after the appetizers were done and our plates were cleared that another guest asked why I didnt have any bread and I explained I was a Celiac that is when they said they saw on the menu that Gluten Free rolls and flatbreads were available. I obviously missed this but the server should have offered this to me, it wasnt news to her I was in need of gluten free options! Fast forward to the presentation of our entrees and to my disappointment I found the server mislead me on the contents of my dish. I did not have pasta made with Quinoa, but Quinoa in the dish itself. I was extremely disappointed as it is rare for me to enjoy pasta when I go out, and this turned out to be a time when once again I would not be enjoying a real pasta dish. I also found the dish to be extremely salty but decided not to mention this to our server as I didnt want to be perceived as a problem guest like I was made to feel when I asked about gluten free options. I only ate about half of my dinner as the salt content was something I could not handle. When she came back to ask us if we were interested in dessert I was more than happy to order the Flourless Brownie to fill the void my dinner left and I must say the brownie was the highlight of my entire meal.
Food was good, but the service was pretty slow, and I find the one room packed with tables loud and without much ambience
Honestly, I was very disappointed with the service at our recent visit. I checked ahead of time and they didn t have any non-alcoholic wine or cocktail options so I brought my own knowing this. Upon arrival I explained this to the server and they said they would have to ask the manager (the other guests in our party did order alcohol) the manager said he would have to charge me a corkage fee of $25, so I have to pay $25 to drink my $4 bottle of sparkling juice because you don t offer any options and I don t want to just drink water with my expensive meal ? Sorry but if you aren t going to offer any options than don t charge me for having to bring it - especially the cost of what you charge to someone actually bringing their own alcohol not sparking juice.
Was not expecting to fall in love with this place. The atmosphere is relaxing and not too loud. There was a perfect amount of service where we didnt feel pestered or forgotten about. Ordered 2 appetizers, 2 mains, 2 drinks, dessert and they were ALL amazing. Might be the best kept secret.
This was an outstanding experience with absolutely great staff, perfect food and friendly ambiance. Perfect for the team. Thank you!
All around great place for a romantic dinner. 5 stars.
Wonderful Italian restaurant. Amazing food and romantic setting!! The Gnocchi was Michelin worthy!!
Parking: I parked in a parking lot nearby Food
Had the grilled romaine, beef carpaccio and gluten free calamari. The steak was mediocre and not well seasoned. I really appreciate the option to have GF calamari and the breading was quite nice. The calamari itself was a bit rubbery but mostly quite good. Would love some hot peppers in there! The grilled romaine was tasty but very dry and lacked dressing. Quick fix - just asked for more. The beef carpaccio was lovely and fresh. Nice environment and the service was great. It was very quiet in there for a Saturday night. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options and appetizers
Had the salmon it was pretty darn tasty. Ill be back in the future. It was my first time here, but my spouse has been here several times with work colleagues. Food : 5/5
Love the food
Love this spot but feel as it isn t as class as it once was. Food is great, service is wonderful. Just the weekends I don t come anymore. The atmosphere is not feeling as class as the food and service. Music is no longer where I go and I tell all my girlfriends it s not the same fun place to eat and relax than dance the night away. I miss you being my favourite spot. Please get better bands
Special location with great atmosphere and good staff. Beautiful panoramic glass roof. Food was a bit disappointing.
-Wonderful restaurant and bar, secretly hidden in the corner of a building it s a nice decorated old-school restaurant with affordable price for after work relaxation! -Lounge menu s cocktail and mushroom pizza are great, lunch menu s steak sandwich also tasty, tiramisu is a little too sweet for me -Make sure to go for their Tuesday half price cocktail and lounge menu half price pizza and $6 wine before 6PM!
Fabulous restaurant. The ambiance is so lovely. Excellent service, excellent food and lots of Christmas cheer!!
5 Star Service 5 Star Food Like seriously: that Pizze was amazing ! Food : 5/5
Im sure its great when they are not busy. It was too loud. I heard a couple leave because of it. The restaurant had a private function n our dinner didnt show up until after 1.15hr n it was not hot. The potatoes tasted like you buy from a box, flakes n add milk, water n butter n cook. They did not taste like real potatoes. That high end restaurant should use real potatoes. The band/music was loud n Im deaf in 1 ear. The waitress came n checked on us, she was great. NO reply to any bad reviews but good reviews I could see almost 2 weeks ago someone posted n they rwplied. My post is over a month ago
Food was absolutely horrible. The calamari batter was uncooked and steak was way over cooked - especially when you ask for it rare. Drinks were also over priced for what you were served. The decor was interesting and the server was nice, except for another server coming up to one of the members in our party asking if they had paid... Which they had.
This is a nice restaurant located on 8th Ave. The hostess was excellent. Definitely the level of service that you would expect from this type of place. We were one of only a few tables (3ish) but the waitress didnt get us water or tell us the specials, she seemed surprised when we asked. The food was ok. We ordered several pizzas, salmon, and the steak. The steak needed more seasoning and 2/3 pizzas were bland. The third pizza was excellent. We ordered two deserts and they were ok as well. No great but not bad. Murrietas is a staple and I wish they focused more of quality recipes that would keep me coming back.
I think there is some sort of road/sewer construction that they are doing...very pleasant.
Basic food. Nothing special. Menu is severely overpriced. Pizza definitely didnt come from a pizza oven - no good charing on it. Cheese looked like Dominos Pizza Didnt even finish it as it was underwhelming. Maybe the Chef needs to check Basic pizza work from a franchise like Famuso at bare minimum? The short rib was basic and plating sloppy. Mashed potatoes were like stewed in with mashed up carrots. Literally looked like it came from an instapot. The Chef in charge of the menu needs to be reviewed or fired. Clearly has no passion for food. An entree and one drink for 2 people came to $125. Not worth it in my opinion. Many amazing resteraunts in downtown that are much better than this place.
Firstly I must day I absolutely felt in love with the interior decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly, efficient, and accommodating to our needs. Made good recommendations on the food and drinks. Love the truffle fries and the dirty lemonade as well as the charcuterie board. Would like to return again for music night as well as sitting outdoors or elsewhere to get that roof view.
First time here in years. Same comfy vibe however the service level was below average.
Everything was perfect as always, had a bit of a struggle to get a TV changed to watch the 4th period of the flames game instead of American basketball
Had a fantastic dinner. Food was fantastic and our server Josh was absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: I don t eat meat and they were very accommodating
In a word, fantastic. Excellent service. Excellent food. Try the butter poached prawns. Good wine list. And just a beautiful venue.
Food came cold but taste wise was ok. Server did the basic things which we appreciate, if we were to compare to similar restaurants. Live band was good and ambience is nice
Servers ignored us . Waiting 1hr and 18 mins for our food... drinks didnt come for about 35 mins.... steak was so dry.... when I asked for dippings that didnt come for 20 mins... so disappointed
I normally don t leave negative reviews. But if I don t than will there ever be a change? Because the service me and my husband got last night was terribly slow. We kept seeing other people get help. Once we sat down no one came to get our drink order for like 20+ mins and that s how long we waiting each time for someone to come to our table to even order, to bring me steak sauce, the bill. It was just terribly slow. Plus the steak was dry. Hard to eat. I don t throw the word discrimination around because I like to give people that chance around me (being indigenous) but last night we really felt out of place. Me and my husband likes to go try new places to eat down town and this was the worst service we ever gotten. We are very polite respectful people. So we are very disappointed and will not recommend this place to anyone.
Nice place to visit. Service is a little slow but the food is good
2 of us got dinner here. Got the flat iron steak and braised short rib. Great meals, very flavourful, the scallops as a side with the steak was very delicious! And the green peppercorn sauce hit just right with the steak and mashed potatoes!! Tried the sticky pudding dessert instead of the normal tiramisu and was very impressed with the flavour, good spot for a fancy dinner, and the waitress was so engaging and helpful, would recommend the place to others!
Always a great place for appetizers or full lunch/dinners with great service. Live music on weekends!
Superb food and service had a great time with my fiance!
Love the food, the ambience and the service! I definitely recommend this place.
Id have to say this is probably one of (if not the) best fine restaurants in Calgary. The atmosphere and décor in the dining room are on point. Tons of space without felling empty and a perfect ambiance. The service staff were excellent as well. Coat check is a great touch that may restaurants have forgotten in todays age. The wait staff are also excellent. Our water glasses were never empty and we were never short on a recommendation. Drinks here are quite lovely. Hand crafted excellence and speedy turnaround from order to delivery. Food was definitely the start of the show on our visit. The flatbread fresh from the stone pizza oven that accompanied our Trio of Dips was amazing. For the main, I had the grilled salmon. I dont think Ive ever seen salmon grilled to that perfection before. The fish was extremely tender with perfect grill marks on top of the excellent flavors. The roasted and grilled vegetables accompanying the salmon were excellent as well.
very chill atmosphere! great service waiter was awesome and the food was delicious
Took a chance and did a working lunch here - was a bit of an issue (tables not organized) but staff responded quick and did a helluva job. Go 2 spot for corporate folks at lunch
Food was very yummy and the servers were very pleasant! Live music was a defs +! Food : 5/5
I absolutely love this place I m excited to go on Friday for live music. Reminds me on downtown Toronto lounges. The ambiance and the service is immaculate.
Bryce was welcoming and very attentive, wonderful service. Oysters where great, the steak with the truffle butter was amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Had a great tuna sandwich. Wife was on a juice cleanse haha she missed out.
Great food and amazing service.
We had a fantastic meal and our server was excellent . The atmosphere was very nice as well. The only dissatisfied experience was the entertainment they started late more than 5 min and played for only 40 min then took a break as long as they played. We found that disappointing.
Dropped in for a first time check around and was overjoyed with the experience. Looking forward to the next visit. The use of the former historical hotel has beautiful interior charm and character. The service is exceptional knowing the history of the hotel, and food menu items. Totally by chance it ended up being half price wine day so enjoyed quality wine paired with exceptional tasting food.
This is a very premium lunch during a business day for a fair price. I had the Tuna Melt with soup and it was wonderful. Ill be coming back.
Nice place for a drink. Great little balcony to people watch. Fantastic service.
Love the character of that building. Great service
Lovely woman
What an amazing place. The atmosphere is fantastic.
Always great! This time attending a private event and was over the top fantastic, from location (as always) food and service!
Great food, great drinks, great service. They were able to change things so all allergies could be easily accommodated.
Just went for cocktails which were great as always
Overall a pretty good experience. I was kinda surprised with the stairway entryway which was super unique but I wouldnt want to navigate it after a bunch of drinks. Delicious apps, and main meals including Alberta Premium Beef Steaks. Rustic wood interior, kinda reminds of the Old West with updated bar, with many beer taps and TVs to watch the games. Server was busy talking to another table of her friends and neglected to pay attention to the other tables she had and this was a turn off and would have been a 5 star rating. Overall a very great atmosphere. The noodle and shrimp dishes were great.
Had some great drinks and appetizers here with a large group of people.
Always great food and service. By far one of the best restaurants in Calgary and has been since they opened a long time ago. Amazing atmosphere in a historic building.
More of a 3.5 than a 4 but the lamb main course was the star.
We had a corporate event here and everything was outstanding. From the email communications and planning to the execution it was a 5/5 experience. The food was delicious, the staff were exceptional and so helpful. I highly recommend Murrietas for events!
I went to a bar with three friends in Calgary. The interior was very clean and had a great atmosphere. The most impressive aspect was the beautiful staff. They greeted us with smiles and were very friendly, making the ordering process smooth. Among the dishes, I ordered Alberta beef, and it was incredibly delicious. It was juicy, and the quality of the meat was fantastic. Additionally, they had a wide selection of craft beers, with many flavorful options. We had a great time drinking and enjoying ourselves with friends. Overall, it was a fantastic bar experience, and I would love to go again.
Great location. Nice interior. Food was incredibly salty. Take the salt down a notch, guy.
The bathrooms were clean, the atmosphere was bright and airy and the staff was welcoming, courteous and helpful. The food was good, nothing over the top but we enjoyed our dinner.
The food here is good. Service is above and beyond my expectations. The atmosphere is also enjoyable. Full house when we were there on a Wednesday night. Good sign.
told to move from the bar and later tables chairs several times because we have a group coming in, female bartender very rude. Lost my ring by moving returned to the lounge within a hour , and despite calling the lounge. Despite the dark ambience and rug know it was staff because it was so light and tiny no other customer would have even noticed it until staff were cleaning and closing the lounge.less than one star.
Murrieta s is a lovely venue on Stephen Ave for delicious food. Josh handled our dinner service; he was friendly, attentive and efficient! We shared the calamari, prosciutto cotto pizza and ricotta gnocchi pasta. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area.
Excellent food and great staff. Good place for meetings.
My absolute go to place in Calgary!
Great meal. Trio dip was a fantastic way to start. Everyone enjoyed their main.
Great place to have fun with delicious food
Great view from the balcony.
Best in Town
It was great, I enjoyed the food service was good.
Service was a bit slow but it could have been because they had an event on the other side but several servers ignored me when I put my hand up. Their 6 oz steak at $55 was very small for that price.
Beautiful brisket!!!
It was our first visit here. Had the most delightful time. Highly recommend the calamari with the aioli. Our server Brianna was also the bartender. She made us some amazing harvey wallbangers and margaritas. Brianna had an irresistible smile and made us feel most welcome. She truly is the gem of this fine establishment. Cant wait to come back again to sit on the patio for dinner and try the ribeye.
A very interesting place with a fantastic history. Food and service were wonderful
Great vibes, and service. The food was interesting but nothing to write home about.
Great terrace and view of 8th Ave SW.
Enjoyed the duck breast here! Servers were great. Only gave 4 stars as I called prior to our birthday reservation and asked about bringing in a custom cake. It was not told until I arrived that I would be charged $4/person. They offered a discount on the cake fee but did not disclose it until after we ate our meals, but when the bill came, they charged me the regular price for the pieces that were cut. We had 20 guests and spent over $1500 and even our guests were quite upset to hear about the cake cutting fee that was only shared when we arrived.
Great spot to people watch on their balcony
Awesome sitting on the patio, Hannah was super nice and the main host manager very attentive and professional. Really cool venue
5 stars terrace very nice, upstairs, very tasty food, could have spent hours there, great location
Stopped in with a friend. We sat in the bar area and experienced excellent service by Cynthia! I had the artisanal salad and rigatoni. Neither disappointed! Rigatoni sounds simple, but take if from this Italian, it is not. The sauce was lovely and the pasta was cooked perfectly! I wished I lived in Calgary, I would be a regular here.
FIVE PLUS all around for making our wedding reception so so special. Daisy, Kim + team did an amazing job and were so grateful we chose Murrietas as our party venue. Food, drinks, and service were top notch. Cant thank you all enough!
Took my daughter here for graduation. The customer service is above par. The food and and atmosphere is like living in a dream- amazing all around!
Nice place for lunch. Patio is small, but comfortable. Food is always good, although portions have really decreased
Overpriced for a boring empty place.
Dylan was an excellent server. They were out of a wine we wanted but he suggested a perfect substitute. He was so kind and personable. Food was also great! Can t wait to come back!
Wonderful anniversary dinner with my wife. The lamb spaghetti was great. Service team was excellent. Lots of great seating options from inside to tables overlooking Stephen Ave.
Our waitress for the Evening was Cynthia. We were seated at table 226 on Aug 18, 2023 @ 19:31. She was very attentive to our requests, and surprised us when she found out it was our 21st wedding anniversary. She went above and beyond service levels. The food, while expensive, was worth it. The halibut was melt in your mouth, and Bouillabaise was exceptional. Next time we are in Calgary, we will definately be returning.
Nice restaurant, lot of choice, price affordable. Good service.
Awesome food, but we were sat under an AC vent which was freezing and chilled the food - so couldnt finish it. Shame as its a nice location and great steak. If you go at night take a look from the outside balcony along 8th - pretty cool Food
We had the steak and the brisket and both were heavenly.
Great experience, good set menu! Vegetarian options: They do have nice vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
Unfortunately our dinner experience came with overcooked prawns, that were 40.00 and a really unauthentic pizza. Such a suprise as other dinners had been better
Fine dining without the loud noise. Friendly staff who accommodated our dietary needs. It was a beautiful setting with natural light. Recommended for everyone. The music is light. Not loud. Everything is just right. Brisket is recommended!
Theres just nothing special about this place. Overpriced, poor quality, and mediocre service. Plus, parking is a huge hassle.
This is such a nice place to eat! Basma Doubaji is especially kind to us every time we come for lunch !
Awesome band!.... The Mike MacKenzie band
For the price of the menu the service should be amazing!(considering we were auto charged an 18% tip) the service was not good. Our server seemed very inexperienced with larger groups not knowing she needed to speak to all the guests at the table and make sure each person was able to order. (Note: we had 9 people at our table so not really that large of a group) She took a drink order from the opposite end of the table and then didn t come to my end(as I expected)to get more drink orders. Finally, after most of the table had received and even drank most of their cocktail I was able to get my order for a cocktail in. -it was forgotten So again when our appetizers came we reminded the server of my drink. It finally came and by that time everyone else at the table was finished their cocktail. Eventually a second server stepped in to help he was more organized and efficient however his wine pouring skills were very poor, there was wine spilled down the bottle & he spilled wine on someone s sleeve while pouring their glass. He offered no apology or help to get it out. I also found it odd that the servers took plates with food still on them and didn t offer to pack them to go. Food was good, not amazing. Service was severely lacking-Overall Disappointing and overpriced. Don t think we will be back.
We came here on a special date night, and the food did not disappoint! Good service but the atmosphere of the restaurant was a bit strange.
With so many dining options in Canmore, (and without looking at reviews prior) we took a guess. We decided on Murrietas simply because we walked past the entrance and could hear a lot of people and music. Everything was great but our server, Stephanie, was excellent! She knows her job and does it very, very well. She took the time to take pictures for a nearby group, chatted with guests and made excellent suggestions even though they were slightly under staffed because of a private event there. Thank you for the awesome experience - but a special thanks to a great server!
Great place
Really nice spot for a group meeting/dinner.
We went my son and I on a mother and son, his choice and it was excellent
We went here for cocktails and music. The drinks were good, staff were very attentive. The live band on a Saturday night was awesome too and people were dancing to their music. When we went, I found the crowd more mature (id estimate over 40) if that helps.
A bit pricey in my opinion for the standard. Good meal, but not Michelin star price good.
Was on a business trip from Toronto. Loved the atmosphere & service. Pork tenderloin & mushroom pizza were amazing!! I highly recommend it.
Great evening out with colleagues. The cod and strip loin was excellent and service was great. Food : 5/5
Our server was Anna Marie and she was absolutely amazing. She was responsive and attentive. She made our event flow seamlessly.
Beautiful place. Unusual because its upstairs and people would not even see this place if they didnt know about it before. Pretty nice set up and staff were nice. Food was delightful although the portions were smaller.
Amazing place! Our waiter Dominik, in particular, really made the night feel special! We will definitely be back
The food was fantastic and the service was even better. Anna Marie was great. Thank you for the great night
Great live music in a beautiful place. Its fun to dance here!!
Great food and intimate service. I want to come back and explore more of their menu.
Always Gorgeous Evenings, dinner here. And a Beautiful place for Special Occasion Celebrations. Food
The food was excellent and the servers were attentive.
Had a swell time at the bar. Highly recommend
Beautiful
Very professional and friendly staff, amazing food, and great ambience. Only thing I found was acoustics wrt conversation made it a little loud.
Great Food and a really nice venue. Service was pretty good for a new girl in training. DMack Food
They hosted my friends birthday this evening. Great atmosphere. Lovely Staff. Very accommodating.
Great place for top drawer type of restaurant. Very nice, great atmosphere. Heres a shot of the Calgary Tower half a block away in the evening. The restaurant is not in the picture Food : 5/5
The ricotta gnocchi is amazing!
We had our company Xmas party here and our waiter Dom was amazing. Our drinks were always full and food was great.
Recently had dinner here with a group of work friends from out of town. Everything about our experience was outstanding - the food, service, and, atmosphere. Highly recommend dinnng here.
Dominik good service !
Great food, slow service for the party I was at.
Very good food and service.
Nice place to eat
Overall great experience, nice coat check right when you walk in! Our server was extremely helpful in ordering for the group. The guy worked in film so you know who you are! I had the smoked brisket and somerset cocktails. Would recommend!
Excellent steak, tasty and cooked properly. But absolutely terrible Greek salad. Nice atmosphere and excellent service. I bring my apologies! It was Caesar salad! My wife remembered to me.
