Downtown Calgary's Annabelle’s Kitchen is a loving homage to our Italian roots. A cozy, casual Italian restaurant where we serve the food we were raised on and the food you love to eat. A night at Annabelle’s means great wine, a spritz or two, and (of course), lots of red sauce. It's why we have quickly become known as one of the best restaurants in Downtown Calgary for Italian food and good times. Don't forget to stop by for Happy Hour, Calgary! Or reach out when you need homemade culinary catering.
The food, the staff, and the ambiance were all nice. My husband had the squid ink linguini ($27). I had the braised short rib ($35). It was cooked nicely and tasty. But I’ll never go back and I won’t recommend this place. Why? Well, we left less than an hour ago and we have a Papa John’s pizza on the way, after spending $75 at Annabelle’s. Skimpy and expensive portions are a deal breaker for me. And I have a small appetite, a $36 piece of meat should’ve been plenty for me.
It was a great night out with my wife. Great service, great prices and romantic setting. We will be back!
We stopped by 7:30PM on a Saturday evening, and the restaurant was busy but not too crowded. We ordered the eggplant tapenade bruschetta and a lime carrot ginger soup to start, and for our main dishes I had the squid ink linguine with prawns while my wife had the red pepper radiatori with spicy Italian sausage. We were too full to try any of the desserts. Service was fast and efficient, and the dishes were flavourful without being overwhelming.
Such a lovely place! We came for a light lunch. We ordered a caprese salad and the "about today" pizza. Both were delicous, the atmosphere and the music were great (and not too loud), and the service was excellent, quick and pleasent. We are planning to come again.
What an amazing experience! The food and service were outstanding. The food itself was out of this world, we had an assortment of appetizers, pasta, and pizza. Everyone walked away satisfied. Best tiramisu in years, classic cocktails, and the whipped ricotta toast was out of this world. I haven't been somewhere with such excellent service in years. If a plate was empty an employee appeared swiftly without being intrusive to remove it, water constantly filled, friendly and unobtrusive service. Also this was the level of service with gratuity included which made it all the more impressive. 10/10 would go again!
On Valentine's Day, the staff at the restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate our party of six, seating us comfortably in their spacious dining room. The culinary experience was delightful, with each dish being a testament to the kitchen's skill. Notably, they impressively catered to the dietary needs of our vegetarian and gluten-free companion by preparing a special off-menu item. The staff's helpfulness and the restaurant's charming atmosphere combined to create a memorable dining experience.
Lovely dinner experience! We came for a birthday dinner on a Saturday. We booked a reservation just in case given that it’s located on Stephen Ave. The space inside was beautiful and felt intimate. Our orders were taken promptly and we didn’t wait long for our food and drinks. We specifically picked Anabelle’s because they have gf options. I ordered the Squid Ink Linguine and it was one of the best pastas I’ve had in a while. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the flavours were amazing - lots of garlic, slightly spicy, and there was a surprising amount of shrimp and fish pieces. I would definitely return for this dish alone. I was worried about the portion size given the price, but it was 100% worth it and I did not leave hungry. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. It was a perfect spot for a celebratory meal with friends. I’d definitely return to try more on the menu.
Food and atmosphere were great, service was fantastic! Tried the whipped ricotta and it was sooo good, only negative was one of the pieces of bread was slightly burnt. Meatballs were a great appetizer, heavy if you're also having a big meal. I has the Artic Char on saffron risotto and really enjoyed it. There was no room for dessert!
Service was excellent!! 5 stars. Food was not on par with the immaculate service. 1 star here. Food : 1/5
The portions are insanely small for the price. I got pasta in olive oil with some sprinkles of grated parmesan and lemon peel. The dishes that did have meat had very little. The staff were okay. If it was tasty I would say the insanely small portions and prices would be justified - personally would go anywhere else on Stephen ave other than here.
Service was good, the staff were incredibly attentive and kind. They did mess up one drink order, but they were more than happy to correct it. Our appetizers were good but the mains were very disappointing. The pasta was very undercooked, to the point where the pasta was almost hard. I wasnt impressed with the flavors either.
This had excellent service, and ever one liked there dinner. I had a pizza and the crust was a little thicker than thin crust, but that the way I like it.
The evening was completely ruined, homeless people come into the house as if it were their own and threaten visitors, and get rid of your stupid pizza stands, its not convenient when the pizza just flies off the stand onto the floor
Super delicious, I don t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu.
Had the Heart of glass pizza and colleague had another type of pizza. Toppings were delicious but dough left a lot to be desired.
Ate very good pizza. Since the restaurant was full, the noise level was high. Very nice service and a nice location. Very happy again.
Nice little Italian restaurant in a great location. Close to everything downtown. We had amazing service. We were going to a show after dinner, and the server made sure we got out of there with time to spare. Unfortunately, the food was just not very good. Small portions of very over salted pasta dishes. One friend had the pizza, which he enjoyed. And pretty expensive. My wife and I had a single drink each and the bill was over $100, but we both left hungry.
The chef burned my pizza, but they served it to me anyway. I returned it and ordered a new one. They served other peoples pizzas before mine, so I had to wait a long time. The food is expensive and not that great anyway.
This is a real pizza restaurant. It was so delicious that I even ordered wine
Delicious pasta and salads. Nice service!
Best food and cocktails we tried in Calgary A+++
Amazing experience and pizza was very great! Definitely the best in town! Must stop here.
Management does not value the customer service aspect. Our appetizers and mains were good. Our issue was that after ordering a bottle of wine, just after pouring the first glass, our waitress knocked it over, shattering everywhere and dumping the full glass of red wine over my mom. This was an accident and they apologized. We did our best to save the evening and did not make a big fuss. But when the bill came the manager happily showed me they gave us a staff discount on the bottle of wine . That discount didn t even cover the cost the of spilled wine - much less anything else. They seemed surprised when I was less than enthusiastic but that was their one chance to show they wanted to make things right. It s not about the cost of the wine but the lack of understanding of the hospitality business.
I was extremely surprised with the quality of service and food. The waiters were so polite and attentive. I tried Nannos Meatballs, which were so yummy, and I will definitely come back to taste them again.
Great food! Some of the best pizza around! Fantastic dining, I highly recommend it! Try the new roasted carrots for an appetizer!
Popped in here around 3:30pm and I wish I took pictures of the food because they were yummy. Had the roasted carrot special, tiramisu, and affogato (I ll be back for this one).
We loved this place. The hostess gave us amazing recommendations, and the meal was perfect.
The pasta was tremendous, great atmosphere with terrific service. Nailed all three for us.
Used to be a go-to, but meal was not as good and service was not good at all. Sad.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent personable staff and the food was exceptional.
very bad service I had a very bad time the day I went. I asked for a reservation for a special birthday date and they gave me the worst location in a dark place and a corner. The attention was terrible. We ordered one dish and they brought us a different one. I dont recommend it at all. And expensive
Attentive staff and great food, enjoyed my visit there.
Great service and the food was excellent!
Wow, what a great surprise! Found this place after going for cocktails around the area and it was fantastic! Not just good but great. Food, wine, cocktails, service, vibe, everything! One of the best dining experiences weve had in a long time. Cool table in the front window and both meals amazing. Then the bill came and not expensive at all. You need to go here, we loved it. Thank you
We had dinner here a few weeks ago and it was ok.... but not great. The server was over every 5 minutes asking if we had made up our minds, finally my husband told him to go away (nicely!) and wed call him over when we were ready. It kind of set the tone for the night. Rushed food; we wanted to take our time and sip wine but they really want you in/out. Also, I went to the ladies room mid-meal and saw two over flowed toilets with human waste in them, paper towel on the floor, not the cleanest restroom for a slick Calgary eatery. I am not sure we will return to be honest.
horrible customer service! I ll Never come back and eat at this establishment again! The owner really needs to learn how to treat customers right ! Food
Not only did we get to sit in the cute nook by the window, the service was amazing. Our server who we think is the owner was very attentive, sweet and a joy to talk to and be around. The food was absolutely delicious. Started with the whipped ricotta, which was delicious! We got the chicken and the squid ink linguine and finished off with the tiramisu for dessert. The whole experience was great from start to finish. Thank you so much!
Let me start by saying that the service was very good. The staff are friendly and seem to know the menu. The food came quickly although our entrées appeared before we had finished our appetizers. The food itself was the problem. The whipped ricotta was fine, and came with enough grilled bread to spread it on (which seems to be a rarity these days), but it didn t have a whole lot of flavor. Much could be said of the other dishes we ordered. I almost had the sense that there is a shortage of garlic, herbs and pepper. The pasta dish we had was particularly bland, tasting very much like overcooked pasta. The pizza we had was reasonably good, but I ve had much better in Calgary. The room had a nice ambiance and feel, except for the very generic and boomy pop music, which didn t match the cuisine in any way. Not sure Annabelle s will come to mind the next time we re looking for a place to eat downtown
Annabelles was ok. Pretty average italian food. The room was nice and the server was friendly it was just nothing to write home about.
I went at closing time and placed a quick order. The server was very friendly and the atmosphere of the store was nice. The food is delicious so I definitely want to visit again
Very kind staff and cozy place.
Great meal and great service!! Pastas were good, bruschetta was very nice (even if you had without the bread).
Came here for an early valentines dinner, got an amazing window booth seat. Started off with a couple cocktails that contained signature Italian liquors! So good! Had the arancini, ravioli, and the mind your manners pizza. For dessert the orange crème brûlée. Everything was delicious! The honey on the pizza was great and the crème brûlée was an instant classic. Our server Carla did an amazing job, she was friendly and helped us decide on our entrees. Will definitely come again!
Honestly, a top-five lifetime dining experience. Exquisite service without being unnecessarily formal, incredible food. Had the wine pairings, which 100% added to and improved the meal.
Loved the beetroot salad that I ordered. Wonderful service..they could accommodate 10 people in rush hour..
Really good! Service was slow but other than that food was amazing!
The superstition pizza was the best but everything else was top notch too Vegetarian options: They made a garlic focaccia bread specially for us, which was so yummy Food : 5/5 |
Fabulous!
Quaint location- fun menu.
Authentic Italian Food .. Caesar Salad was absolutely delicious.. the fried artichokes added into the salad were amazing.
Food amazing. Odd naming style but phenomenal food.
Had a pizza and arancini for lunch on the patio. Great little spot - quiet inside. The patio in the summer is lively due to Stephen avenues vibe.
I work at the pharmacy a few doors down and I just ordered some take out. I asked for a gluten free and dairy free dish and they happily made me a delicious gluten free pasta with beef meatballs and a tomato base sauce for a fair price. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will be going back. Thanks :)
Went there because they were having a deal on pizza last summer and it was so good and the waitress was lovely, she was so sweet and was so nice to talk to and made sure we were comfortable and have everything we needed. If she still works there I ll definitely be coming back and the pizza was something I can confidently down in one sitting because how good it is and not feel bad about it.
Great Staff!
My wife and I have been huge fans of Annabelles Kitchen and visit both locations often for the excellent food, wine and service, and occasionally we have also enjoyed some fun times at Bar Annabelle. This past week I was invited to a Corporate Stampede event at Annabelles and I must say it was the best event I have been to in years, the mood, and energy in the room were incredible. Leslie and her team at Annabelles provided some fabulous food and drinks and the service was top notch. If you are looking for a great place to eat or host an event, I highly recommend Annabelles.
Great place with excellent food! A gem on Stephen Ave. Whipped Ricotta is a must and the Blanco Negronis
Very nice Italian restaurant, great service, awesome food and good atmosphere.
The highlight is the whipped ricotta and pizzas! We loved the tiramisu also (it does not have any lemon in it despite what past reviews said). The place has a romantic atmosphere, great for a date night. Wonderful service and drinks as well.
Great food and super nice staff. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely seat by the window with a great view of the activity on the street. The food was delicious as always and our server was attentive while giving us space. This was my second time dining here and I am looking forward to the next.
Very good pizza choices
We had a delicious fresly made pizza for lunch. Service was great and easy going. Coffee was great. A real treat be stop here. Vegetarian options: You can discuss every option since it is made specially for you
BEST ARANCINI EVER From a Montreal guy that tasted a lot of them ;) !!
Great place on Stephen Ave for modern italian food. We enjoyed their pizzas and pastas. Service was friendly and warm. We will return.
Sad to say we were quite disappointed. The menu online did not match the menu on offer. We both struggled to find something to enjoy. The seating we had was quite uncomfortable being sat in a poorly thought out box seat Service left a lot be desired had to chase after the to close out the meal, glass ware was chipped and was quite sharp. All in all wont be returning
Fantastic option for a quick downtown lunch. A very fresh and creative light lunch menu. On the best block of Stephen Ave.
Birthday dinner date! Loved the ambience of this restaurant. Youre not sitting on top of other diners, the tables are well laid out. We sipped Negroni Classico cocktails and shared a panzanella insalata. Then we each had seafood linguini with housemade squid ink pasta. Tiramisu was the perfect dessert, 1 order was big enough to share. Our server Chris was very attentive and timed every detail perfectly! Well be back again soon.
Me and my friend ordered a soup and a salad for start and they were both inedibly salty. I am personally type of person that adds salt to everything so this was very shocking even for me who likes salt. We asked for the bill without finishing our food and the waiter didnt even ask anything. I wouldnt really go there again, specially considering the price range I expected to receive better service and dining experience.
Great food in an amazing atmosphere! Definitely will be back.
Food and drinks were good. No problem getting a table on a weeknight. Good service. Very cheesy menu but hey thats Italian cuisine for ya. They had no issues keeping my cheese on the side and accomodating my dietary restrictions.
I felt very uncomfortable as a black man in this restaurant. Others who arrived later than me were served before me. Waited an hour before I received my food and when it came it was cold and the sauce was runny. I m giving the benefit of the doubt with two stars due to the cute look. The unwelcome feeling and afterthought treatment made me very uncomfortable. We also received no apology when the food arrived late.
Found this charming Italian resto downtown. Food was amazing. The carbonara was a touch salty but the other pasta dish was perfect. Meatballs were amazing. Super satisfying.
Omg this was so fekin good, get the whipped ricotta and foccia it was amazing! I swear my life has peaked its all going downhill from here.
Excellent lunch spot downtown! Delicious fresh pasta and great service.
Charming little location with delicious food. On our servers recommendation we tried the arancini balls and the Mind Your Manners pizza. Both were outstanding. Would definitely recommend this spot!
The most scrumptious mushroom rigatoni Ive eaten in a long time... Paired it with the Whip It pizza on a business meeting and it was not only the perfect pairing, but also were great portions! Will be back to try more house made dishes
This is a unique restaurant. Food was excellent and service was even better. Please try it, I certain you will like it.
Cute restaurant with a trendy decor in the center of downtown Calgary. The menu features various antipasti, pizzas and pastas. They have an extensive wine list and the service was friendly. Pasta was tasty but the portions were small for the price. Pizza was deceiving, I found that it was dry, oversalted and greasy. From my opinion, the overall experience is nice for drinks, but not so much for food.
Extremely rude staff
It was actually Pleasantly surprised by how good it was
Such a cute and quaint place. Pasta was delish, pizza was memorable. I m looking forward to going back for wine time with friends and family!
Was here for a business lunch. The location has been many different businesses but I like the new look and colours, softer, elegant and cozy. The food is delicious, tried the whipped feta, meatballs and olives and had the strozzapretti as my main. For drink, I ordered the phony spritz and though it tasted good bc I removed it immediately, it looked horrible because they threw in this disgusting old piece of gone bad lime (the ones that are light brown on the outside and yellowy inside), so I suggest more attention to detail from bartender. Service was good but not friendly at all, not sure Id come back. Vegetarian options: Pasta, pizza, appies
Superb dishes! Very nice Quebec server :-)
Annabelles Kitchen downtown is one of the best eating experiences Ive had in Calgary. The reason the quality was so high was that each ingredient maintained its distinct and unique flavor. For instance, our pizza had pears, gorgonzola cheese, cured bacon and arugula on it. Asides from the arugula (which I could care less about) each individual ingredient tasted strongly and uniquely, and when combined it was delicious, especially considering the bread also complimented the dish. The same was to be said of the salad with grilled peaches (unique yet they managed both a sweet and slightly savory flavor) and the whipped focaccia where both the bread, cheese and honey had distinctly different flavor palettes but still combined magnificently. Of the three factors I consider for food (quality, price, and quantity) quality is the one I value least, but this blew me out of the water with a 10/10 rating. Price wasnt great for me, but it also wasnt crazy either, and when factored in with the quality it was very understandable and not overpriced (which means to most people, it was pretty cheap, 8/10). The quantity as well was pretty admirable, on its own it would have gotten a pretty decent rating to me (8/10). Both of these items are VERY rare to be found at a place were I also value quality so highly. Seriously impressed at this hidden gem. Glad to have discovered you!
Great food, unpretentious atmosphere, and attentive service made our business dinner a memorable one. Everyone specifically commented on how perfect a spot it was. Pizza was outstanding! Highly recommend.
Really good ! Really great service and tasty food! The staff really knows their menu and wine list and she was able to give me a great food-wine pairing! Will certainly return when I m back to Calgary !
Delicious Food, very Friendly Staff, Good Music and super clean! The Perfect Ital
Food and SERVICE is above and beyond. We came here with our friends and our 2 1.5 year old girls. The staff was unbelievably kind and helpful to us. From the moment they sat us and got the table ready with 2 high chairs they told us they offered cheese pizza or Mac and cheese on fresh made noodles for the little ones and asked if we would like them to out an order in right away for the girls. They said one order was enough for the girls to share and they were right , and it was by far the best Mac and cheese pasta I have ever had. The noodles were perfect and the sauce was amazing. While the girls were waiting they were hungry and they even brought pieces of orange over. The pizzas and pasta mains we all shared were incredible and they were able to accommodate my nut allergy no problem. THANK YOU to the wonderful servers we had today. We will be back again and again and this will be my new favourite lunch stop when at work. Dietary restrictions: Peanut allergy accommodated no problem Kid-friendliness: From the moment they sat us and got the table ready with 2 high chairs they told us they offered cheese pizza or Mac and cheese on fresh made noodles for the little ones and asked if we would like them to out an order in right away for the girls. They said one order was enough for the girls to share and they were right , and it was by far the best Mac and cheese pasta I have ever had. The noodles were perfect and the sauce was amazing. While the girls were waiting they were hungry and they even brought pieces of orange over
Nice deco, great environment, cozy and romantic, food was delicious, good service. I really liked the deep fried artichoke hearts. The non alcohol Negroni wasn t that good.
If youre looking for a nice quite place on stephen ave thats a bit different from the usual bars. Annabelles is the place to be with a nice casual vibe and a menu to keep you coming back this is the place id recommend any casual sit in wine drinkers who want to get out but still have a relaxing chill evening on stephen ave!
The place is short staffed on sat eve and the workers dont listen to you. Awful experience plus the waiter was so rude
Please go have some italian food in real italian restaurant. Waite of time and money in anabella reataurant!
Being a fan of Italian-style pizza, I would say that Everybody Knows (I hope its the name.:D I just remember it being named after one of Cohens songs!) pizza is the premier pizza I have had in YYC. Its a perfect combination of tomatoes, cheese, and basil sauce that tastes so heavenly and rich. I also tried walnut pesto pasta. The creamy and soothing texture of it was appealing to me as well. The food is a bit pricey, but happy hour makes it worth a try. I liked the vibe and stunning decor full of plants, not at all like the photos you see in the reviews!
Cool
Great drinks. Friendly owner .
Great spot! And the pop-up bar, Bar Annabelle is special. Just dont arrive by bicycle. There is a lack of bike racks along the avenue, and the owner really doesnt like bikes locked to the patio fence.
The food was good. The hostess was awkward and didnt listen to the fact that we had reservations (for our anniversary). The patio was not set up for hot evenings and therefore wasnt used when the other patios on 8th Ave were all packed.
Lovely little restaurant! Great staff, food & drinks
Had a great dinner with the family. Tasteful decor and enjoyed creative new tastes for pizzas and pastas.
Was dying to try this place for about year. My boyfriend and I finally got around to going for date night. Our waiter was alright. He didn t seem to interested in serving us. Was quick with here s the menu, here s the bill . We got a vibe from him that we were inconveniencing him. We ordered a pizza and pasta thinking that would be plenty for us. Pizza came. There were hardly any toppings on it. Like I m talking more pie and dough then a person wants. Cardboard pretty much. The pasta came, it was cold. We ordered the Ricotta ravioli. Tasted like a lemon. Left hungry. Boyfriend enjoyed his cocktail. Mine was meh. We ll never go back. We re pretty easy going. And wanted to love Annabelle s but it was all around such a disappointment. Wouldn t recommend.
Wow ! Local food available on Stephen Ave, nomnomnom....... good value amazing service and perfect window seats for people watching.
Nice... It was awesome experience.
Only had drinks, but a great space with a great wine menu. Will definitely visit again.
The staff were incredible, the food delicious and the atmosphere inviting. After your meal, head next door to Annabelle Bar for a cozy cocktail, likely mixed for you by the owner, and some great vinyl. Both locations make the perfect date spot. And the whipped ricotta ..OMG!!
Service wasn t great and the pasta and risotto were bland and not cooked well
Great selection of drinks. Best place to spend time with your friend. Amazing atmosphere. Great prices. Food was good.
Food was excellent albeit pricey, service perhaps a tad slow.
Thank you Leslie we all had such a great time. The service was, as always, amazing. The food 2as exactly what we needed! Hugs
Very nice lunch and attentive, unobtrusive service for our lunch meeting in the private room.
Nice place but not in love with. Risotto was undercooked and obviously prepreped, salads were small and Cauliflower dish although very flavorful was very pricey. Pricing should have dictated a higher quality. The wine list is large but very limited decent options for under 100.00, had to spend 110 for a white to pair with risotto. Potential for higher rating with a little more awareness from Kitchen. Mentioned the undercooked Risotto to waitress and she Made mention the other (italian) chef made amazing risotto but not in that night. Recipe standards in high end place should always be the same. Never the less, I was in the presence of great company and we enjoyed out evening, just questioned the value at the end of it! Not sure I would return.
Excellent service. Lunch menu had just enough selection, not overwhelming. Quality 5 stars.
The menu is more impressive than the food served. Started with lemon infused olives expecting them to be warm considering they were served on a small cast iron pan. Ordered the Polenta Doughnuts and they were bland and uninspiring. The service is a definite thumbs down. Overpriced. Nice decor though. Wont revisit
Incredible food, fantastic staff, great Apperol Spritz!
Blink was one of our favourite restaurants to go in town. It was an establishement in the local food scene. Well that wa easily destroyed by the unecessary rebranding into a what is wanted an upscale Italian eatery that does not live to the hype. Although we enjoyed the concept at their new location in Marda Loop, the downtown one just des not work. Thinkg we loved - the olives and the meatballs to start, the tiramisu was good, too, but a little too sweet. The patio is nice but you the Stephen Avenue these days looks like a ghetto with all the drug addicts and hobos. I orered the Carbonara and for $23 this was the tiniest portion. A lady approach (I believe based on the pictures, this is the owner Leslie, but I might be wrong) I asked her if this was the half size and she said this was the full size and its so expensive because they make the noodles in house. It was enough food but because we had some good appetizers but the portion is really small for an entree pasta dish. The taste was good but the the pasta sauce seemed dried. My friend ordered the a pizza with a a gluten free crust and although we fully understand a gluten free crust will never live up to the real pizza, the toppings and the sauce were awful and poorly looking. Overall, the servere took one tiramisu out of the bill and that was nice of hime. However, it did not make for the entire experience.
I REALLY enjoyed my meal while visiting Annabelles. I honestly cant even begin to describe how good it was. I had the flat iron of beef and my boyfriend had the baby love pizza, so soooo good!! The best meal Ive had in a really long time - the place itself was very clean. Styled very nice. This place was not a let down! Definitely worth trying out if interested.
Maybe Im a weirdo, but 58 minute wait for two pizzas was a bit too much. The pizza by itself was as thin as a color copy paper in my home printer. Only toilet paper is thinner than that. The crust was supposed to be crispy, but every bite was hurting my gums. My jaw was literally numb half way through. I guess this place is not for everyone and apparently I dont fit their clientelles profile. If you feel like you do then go ahead and good luck. I warned you.
The staff, food and wine list were excellent. They made great recommendations about food and wine pairings. We felt very comfortable about their COVID protocols. We would highly recommend this gem!
Good food, the appetizers were really good, the tiramisu could be better though.
Food was okay, I found portions were small though. Appetizers were just a bit smaller then the main meal.. Ordered a bunch of appetizers and mains. But wasnt anything spectacular I would return to eat.
Restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, very chipper stuff. Pizza very interesting, not incredible.
I absolutely loved Annabelles Kitchen! The inside of the restaurant was very clean and stunning! The food itself was remarkable, I definitely recommend this place for dinner! I went on a Tuesday evening so it was very quiet and felt private, great experience! The waiter was extremely kind too!
Good ambience and food. Definitely had a better pizza but the overall experience was good.
First time, great service. Had pizza and a pasta, too close to tell which was better but both were pretty awesome. Most importantly a great wine list.
Was a great experience, carbonara was bomb, the appetizer was bomb, but the pizza and the tiramisu we didn t enjoy too much, had too much lemon (the tiramisu)
Great service. Mediocre food.
Establishment does not believe that Coivd-19 restrictions are worth the cost on business. Food is disgusting. This is one place I hope goes bankrupt. See Globe and Mail article, to be utterly disgusted.
Canada is not the country to go for real fine dining. But there are a few exceptions. One of these is Blink. Blink is nice and simple decorated. The service is nice, friendly and efficient. The food is excellent. I always appreciate when the staff knows about the dishes they are presenting and make suggestions to you. Well, in Blink they do. So also a good view on the customers and their needs/wishes.
amazing service always
Amazing food and great service! A must try if youre in Calgary
Lacks substance; lacks taste; lacks finess for the price. The quite expensive charcuterie board was dropped onto the table without the usual narrative. Only some cheap salamis and simple cheese and pickles. Not even ham or dates for better cured meat. The rosted pork belly was just boiled soft, not adequately charred. The veggies, like the pork and lamb, were tasteless. A bit too generous use of chop suey like dark coloured sauce for almost everything. Hard to explain why they could not make the tea and coffee hot; just warm diluted liquids. Quite a disappointment especially given the price.Returned to see if it improved after a few years. It was quiet on a Saturday evening so it was a fair indication. Staff was pleasant, just not well trained. Needs better management and hope they can improve.
Was a little underwhelmed despite it getting great reviews online. I had the pork belly which was quite dry. Another of our party had the grilled octopus which came kind of soft and slimy with the webbing very noticeable. The staff was cordial and attempted to amend our order which was nice.
Beautiful food
super
A little spendy but totally worth it. The cheese plate is a great share size appetizer and the agnolotti was absolutely delicious.
Everything was sublime. We shared the striploin and Pickerel fish. Both were perfectly cooked. The potatoes for each dish were different and ecquisite. Save room for dessert!!
Great food. But the staff were what made our night special. We loved every part of our meal and or night out.
I judge Stephen Ave restaurants based on the steaks/sirloin dish. And it was okay. Service was good. Was there with a business group of 8 in the private room in the back.
Absolutely amazing.... This chef deserves a massive crown! Place might be trying a bit too hard to be high class... Service is great but a bit pretentious BUT THE FOOD! A long time I had both a starter and a main in the same place which were so close to perfect... Well done chef!
Less value for the buck
Expensive, service was ok.
Food was delicious but expensive
Was going to eat here until I realized the owner wants to cut her employees wages. Skip this place
Great place, great wine and great service!
Every dish was exquisite. The two of us ordered two dishes each, and although we were pretty full, we couldnt miss any of the dishes.
Service was terrible. She seemed bothered we were even in there. I ordered the beef and pork pasta and it was so bland. Fish and chips was over cooked. The wine tasted corked but she never came back until we had finished our meal to see if everything was ok. It was not busy at all and we were rushing a bit for lunch (as most people downtown are) and she had no sense of urgency. Ruined the meal. Over priced food...
Friendly staff
Great food but small portions. Very expensive as well
When you sit there paying attention to the quality of crust on your quiche, you know you have come to a good restaurant. The apricot dessert was excellent too. I can see why this restaurant has a very good reputation. Oh, and the service was excellent both times.
Not impressed! Went for my sons birthday there. Had 7 of us. We had a reservation at 6pm and we were about 15 minutes late. Food finally came about 2 hours later. Dishs were brought out a few at a time, then my other son got fish instead of chicken! Then we had to wait another 10 min or so and my son finally got his chicken! We were all done eating by that time! Waiter said it was his fault. Did not read his own writing properly! Food looked delicious but the portions were very small and not worth the large bill! My husband wanted to go out and eat afterwards! I asked for some kind of discount and we did get the 1 meal taken off! Was nice atmosphere, but the waiter left us sitting along time between checking on our table for anything we might need. Hubby waited for coffee etc. And waiter forgot about that too! Not worth the close to 600 dollars!
Just what you expect from fine dining: the food is delicious, service is top-notch and overall experience is very pleasant. I had the and the lingcod, Aperol bomb to drink and the almond cream tart. The dishes are delicately prepared and plated. The restaurant is roomy and does not feel packed even if it were fully booked. Pleasant lighting & music. Recommended for a date.
Located downtown within walking distance of the local light rail service on historic Stephen Avenue. There are many restaurants and bars choices in this area, and we stopped for drinks and appetizers at one of the more modern offerings. We strolled a bit and settled on this fine establishment. The food was excellent, gnocchis and duck, and the service was the perfect balance between discreet and attentive. I can t recommend this place highly enough. Not expensive by Los Angeles, California standards.
Great experience, ambiance and wait staff. Gnocchi was disappointing but char and risotto were quite good.
Great meal all around!
What do you want in a restaurant? Great food, top service, an easy ambience and a wine list that s well curated. Blink delivers this in spades. Our party of four were only in Calgary for one night and found this restaurant on an afternoon walk. They had one spare table for evening service and we are glad we booked. Food was outstanding and we would not hesitate on recommending Blink to anyone.
Expensive...
Great place. Had a wonderful anniversary dinner here.
Healthy options, and delicious mix of flavors
love everything about this place good food good vibes good service
We are traveling from So. Cal and walked past Blink. The menu spoke to us. Everything sounded good. We walked in without reservations and even though they were booked, they offered us seating at the bar which was totally acceptable. To start, all the servers and the manager were very friendly. For starters, I had the tomato soup and my friend had the burrata. We cleaned our plates! For mains, I had the chicken and my friend had the duck breast. Again, the food was prepared to perfection. Flavorful, beautifully plated, we ate every bite. Great wine menu as well. Cant say enough about this place.
