Food was on point and service was amazing..

I do not recommend this place, the food is not as nice as it looks in the photos, the service is not good, they serve you with bad character when faced with a question, very bad service. I definitely wont go back there

Best Latino food in Calgary it s so good

Unfortunately, I had to change my 5-star review to just 1 star. The experience was extremely rude and unprofessional. We arrived at 4:55 pm and requested a booth, as it s more comfortable for us, especially with our baby. Despite the restaurant being completely empty, the owner, who was wearing visibly dirty clothes, refused to seat us in a booth because we had a baby with us. We explained that we come here often with our baby and have never had an issue sitting in a booth, but he was dismissive and waved us off. We were shocked and very disappointed with the lack of respect and consideration.

Rude owner - racist and hostile. Refused to provide us service.

No service fo 10 min. Owner is very rude. He said if you dont want to eat here cam leave. So we left that place. They need to change attitude.

Waiting almost 15 code waiting for my boyfriend. No one bring me water. I have to ask for water. After my boyfriend came no one come to table ask for what we needed to eat. When we ask for the service owner blaming me. And rude and said if you don t like to eat here then can leave. So we left. Poor service.

The food was over seasoned; We arrived two hours before closing and it was a little uncomfortable that they started cleaning the place while we were still eating with the excuse that they would close earlier than established

Food was good, small portions for the price.

I ordered a large order a week prior for a work function and advised I would be there Wed Sept 11 at 1130 for pick up and it was confirmed. I arrived at 1130 Noone opened the door and didnt answer my calls. I had ppl waiting at work for their lunch and I had no food. A coworker called and he finally answered the phone at 1220 and was completely rude. When my daughter called and spoke to him in Spanish he apologized hmmm, funny how that works. he advised a coworker at 1100 advised he could not help with the order. You couldnt call me at 11 to advise me of that? you had my cell number or you couldnt pick up the phone while standing outside your restaurant to inform me. At least could of told me so I had time to find other food. I definitely will not be recommending this place. completely unprofessional

We had amazing drinks, guacamole and entrees.

Love the food here! Try and come often but the hours never match up. Happened again tonight, on a Sunday was suppose to be open till 7. Pulled up at 6 with a few other cars sitting in the parking lot trying to get in as well and they were closed. Lights off sign off. Super disappointed. Adjust your times on Google and the door if you re going to be closed

Went in late on Fathers Day. Food was great, service was slow - only tw waitressess that we could see, attmosphere was congenial. Lots of Spanish was being spoken, so we took that as a good sign!

Excellent food, the Paisa tray is very good, the chef is very friendly, I recommend it to Latinos from Montreal when they visit Calgary

The worst ever! I regret going here. The server took so long to come to my table. After that, she told me they dont even give regular water due to some reason which I later found out was A LIE! Using cheap tactics to get your money, is purely shameful. Then I ordered food worth $40 which didnt even taste like $10. I didnt finish my food, just paid the bill and left for another restaurant. Never going to this place again. If I could I would give a ZERO star to this restaurant. There are many other better restaurants.....Save yourself!

Absolutely incredible food!!!! Pictured is only the tacos Al pastore but I also tried the steak, sausage and plantain. Seafood soup was also extremely delicious. Broth came out hot, Loaded with muscles, clams, shrimp, calamari, fish, and green pepper. Amazing people here, very evident that their dishes are made with love. I ll see ya again very soon. Cant wait to taste the Horchata.

Authentic Latin and Mexican love

After looking at the menu online and the reviews we decided to check this place out. The placed seemed like it was getting close to closing since wasn t very busy just party beside myself and my partner. Service was very well, food was delicious and loved that me and my partner got to try plantains for the first time. Definitely recommend and will be back

I just ate dinner with my fiance and our waitess was terrible... I am vegetarian and wanted to order fajitas with no meat and I am super easy I just wanted any option with no meat. Our server told me no there is no option... I asked if it is mixed or proportioned... she said NO... I asked then why cant the meat be substituted for anything at all and she said it cannot be served without meat All I could think about while eating another dish that was not what I wanted was the fajitas that I wanted and I asked another server why it couldnt be done and he said it 100% it is possible I am so disappointed I would go back to have him as my server but honestly feel so upset that I was ever treated the way she treated me that I dont think Id ever return....

We enjoyed an excellent Valentines dinner there. The service was great and the food was very tasty, we had the Paella and the Enchiladas. Several groups ordered the Hot Pot and that is something that we want to try next

Ordered take out and was very pleased!Delicious food. The pozole was excellent and the empanadas were some of the best that Ive had, the dough its light and perfect texture. Chicken enchiladas were very tasty, but would prefer if they were rolled vs. folded taco style so they did not fall apart. Will definitely return and try some of the other dishes!

What a place. Everything is from scratch and so flavorful. Lily and Hector who we now got to know work their butts off to make sure that every little thing is taken care of. It has now become our favorite shot. If you like real authentic Mexican and Spanish food then this is the place to go.

My fourth visit to this restaurant let me down, very different from previous visits. The quality of food and service were not consistent to past visits. Watery margaritas. Enchiladas which were not properly prepared and service that was rushing to get our party out. I hope this was just due to the volume of guests.

Amazing food, for being Calgarians it seemed pretty authentic. Service was very friendly. Great flavours. We tried 3 large meals and shared them between the 4 of us. Plenty of food for our party.

We had a great time! Tried the Pupusas and they were delicious. They have 3 fillings and we did 1 of each. Very good and the red sauce was yummy. We shared the fajitas platter. Tender and juicy steak with nice, charred peppers and onions. Our service was very good. They diningroom was open and airy and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

It was my first time here but my husband has been here numerous times. I must say it was delicious!! We had ordered guacamole & chips, paella valenciana (Saffron rice, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, mussels, clams and calamari), and the Bandeja Paisa (Charboiled steak served with rice, paisa beans, chorizo, crispy colombian pork belly, avocado, arepa, fried egg, fried plantain and patacones). And of course, had to have Jarritos as a refreshment on the side. Everything was sooooooo tasty and authentic and the service was top notch. We will definitely go back again!

The Paisa tray is super delicious, we loved the meat, the flavor just like in our land!

Burrito was awesome, the fajitas, Flautas Sonoras. All was enjoyed. Will go back to try other dishes. Reservations recommended.

Super small portions for the price! Also avoid delivery as your completely on your own when the order gets fubar. $200 spent and half the food made it to us. If you must pick up your food and dont waste your peace of mind on skip. Or hit up Mucho Burrito instead.

Our children placed a $200.00 plus skip the dishes order for a FAMILY dinner to celebrate FATHERS DAY with the restaurant yesterday. It was slow in arriving, portions were small but the worst thing was having 2 of the meals missing.......especially their fathers meal. Their father and I went to another restaurant and picked up our dinner. Shame on this restaurant and on Skip The Dishes. There was no issues in taking our money but getting what was ordered was too difficult. First and last time dining experience with this restaurant

Excellent and very authentic Mexican food. Everything was so fresh and delicious! I would recommend going here. It is more suited for family outings and sit downs in a quite setting.

As you can see the portions were big. However, I felt the tacos were super dry. I m only giving this 3 stars because everyone else in my family liked their food.

The pupusas were really good, came out really hot, finished them so fast. The al pastor wasnt to bad, the tacos are the small ones and a little dry. Overall not bad for my first time there.

Food was delicious, but thats the only positive aspect of my dining experience here. The service was terrible, immediately upon arriving our server was rude, and she made no effort at all to be polite or professional throughout out meal. On top of that, they were all out of several meals and drinks, which is hard to believe on a Friday right before a weekend, which I imagine would be a busier time for the restaurant. As someone who works in the industry, this was incredibly disappointing. Their hours on the door said open til 9 on Fridays, but they seemed to want us out at 8. We had gotten there at 7 so it isnt like we came right before closing and expected full service. I was here on a double date with my girlfriend and another couple, and after our terrible experience my girlfriend tipped $2 and the other couple tipped $0, which I think was fair based on the level of terrible service but then another woman (the manager/owner maybe?) came to our table after and told the other couple to at least leave a few dollars for the server. Thats super unprofessional and Ive never experienced that at any restaurant or bar in Canada. Overall would return for the food maybe for takeout, but would not want to deal with that terrible quality of service again.

The waitress here is terribly rude. The food was okay. The first few bites were fine and tasty but then I found a piece of sharp metal in my food. We called the waitress over and let her know, all she said was it was probably from how they washed the dishes. She didn t even apologize or acknowledge there was something wrong. She had a nasty attitude with us as well as everyone else she encountered as we could over hear her being rude to other customers. The food was okay but not worth getting terrible service and risking ingesting metal for an average meal.

Nice little spot for a variety of Latin dishes. Really liked the tacos, will definitely return and try some different dishes.

On the bright side: lots of delicious options to choose from, and food didnt take long to come out. On the downside: free parking is very limited (though paid street parking is available), service was fine but definitely need to check on customers more often during their stay, athmosphere was rather dark and too quiet.

This is my 3rd Latino restaurant Ive been to here. Small parking, inconspicuous exterior and the interior doesnt look pretentious. Food was absolutely amazing and came very quick. Ordered 4 mixed pupusas, they were excellent, the best Ive tried in Calgary! Curtido was fantastic, but I wish there was a bit more (fine if you order 3 pupusas). Was looking forward to try their horchata but they were out. You have to order the choco-changa dessert, delicious treat! The only little criticism would be the service, I came alone and got a table in a secluded corner, felt a bit isolated and couldnt see much (tbh, probably not a great spot for a table). I got a sense the young waitress forgot about me for a bit, but she was pleasant & apologetic - it was close to closing time & still busy so I didnt take it as a big minus. If I could give the food more than 5 stars, I would - kudos to the kitchen! I will definitely be back. Hidden gem.

The server that was supposed to serve our table ( older lady) was not on the ball one bit. We waited 45 minutes before she even took our food order, we asked another server that had just taken the table behind us their food, they got to the restaurant 20 minutes after us and had their food on the table before our server even took our order. We had to ask for our bill after we had been sitting there for a while after our table had been cleared. Very poor time management and organizational skills. We wont be back.

First time there. Took the waitress advice on what to eat and enjoyed every bit of it! Would recommend to anyone who likes Mexican food!

This is my third time here and our last. Our first experience was good but the second and third were brutal. We waited over an hour for our meal with zero attention from the server. They are understaffed here and the kitchen must be small as they can not prepare enough meals for the number of tables. When you read this review and go anyways, and your service is poor . Remember this review and leave your own to let others know.

My friend had made a reservation but when we got to the restaurant the employee said they didnt have a reservation then stated oh they must have made it online so apparently online reservations have issues. My husband and I ordered the burritos which were great. However, my friend ordered the chicken fajitas, they messed it up and brought steak fajitas. When my friend asked them to correct the mistake the waitress that had taken the order came out from the kitchen and argued with my friend about what she ordered saying you ordered chicken & steak my friend said no just the chicken then the waitress rolled her eyes and sighed loudly going into the back. When they brought out the chicken it was on the same skillet that was previously used for the steak as we found steak pieces on the skillet that she just pushed to the side. Its against mine and my husbands religion to have beef so if that had happened to us it would have been a big issue. Even if someone has an allergy thats not good to use the same skillet as something that was returned for being incorrect.

I went here once and ordered the signature Molcajete. Oh man.. what an amazing experience the dining experience was. The service was also fantastic. I definitely recommend it!

The second star is solely for the guacamole and chips which was delish, the rest However was a major disappointment. The service was slow (yet they were friendly) but the food was very bland. There was no spice or hot sauce offered and by time the server came back to us we were finished. The rice tastes like instant rice and the flavor left a lot to be desired.

We had our NYE dinner here. The food and staff were nothing short of amazing with attention to details, making our experience a memorable one. We had the calamari and chips & salsa to begin, then a steak & shrimp molcajete which was absolutely mind-blowing. The fried ice cream for dessert was the best way to end off 2021. We are 110% coming back here.

Food is amazing! Spending time in South America and having a Colombian wife, we were looking for a place that was authentic, provided good service and of course delicious food. La Casa Latina checked every box. My wife loves it for the authentic food which reminders her of home. The taste, presentation and dishes make you feel like you are actually in that country eating at a local restaurant. They definitely did their homework to replicate local dishes. The staff are friendly and passionate about the food they prepare and serve. A hit with the Calgary Latino and lovers of Latino food, so the place tends to be busy. You can just drop in but reservation are also available. Parking is very limited so plan for using the paid lot across the street or find a close street that allows parking. Highly recommended.

First time here, read some good reviews, and loved the variety of dishes. Service was excellent and being a family restaurant really shined through. The food quality was very good and the dish flavours sung of Latin America! They are located is such a unassuming place with actual parking spots. Nice little place to bring your guests (or a date) and surprise them with an authentic experience.

Have been coming to LA casa for years have been one my favorite places for Mexican cuisine, although the service have always been slow the food is worth the wait. This last visit was particularly bad due to the long wait and BAD service, there were numerous items on the menu that were not offered or out for the day. Had to wait very long to pay. Parking is not a thing. Disappointed may be last time we visit.

Extremely delicious Latin food, mostly mexican dishes. Dietary restrictions: My wife cant have any diary, egg or soy, and they were able to accommodate easily. Also, dont think Latin food uses much soy or dairy.

I won a free meal on instagram and took my family. We are from Colombia and the bandeja Paisa is just as good, if not better than it is back home. We are also fans of pupusas Salvadorenas and they are amazing. Highly recommended restaurant and great service!

Booked a table for dine in, reached by time mentioned. The restaurant was closed before time and the given reason was it was not so busy . The chef was rude by his body language even, he shook his head and was trying to mention the kitchen is closed.Highly unprofessional staff.

I would prefer go rate 0 , if i got an option. 1st time after seating for more than 30 mins, no one approached to our table for an order and servers were ignoring us . Even though we already did reservation . At last we just left the restaurant and no one even cared. 2nd time we decided to give a chance and we did reservation at 8:00 pm as their google ratings are good. After reaching there we found that they are closed because they were not busy. Moreover, the chef was signalling that kitchen is closed and asked us to leave from the kitchen. So overall its a worst experience ever. Will never go again for and will make sure no-one around us visits you guys.

I came today and just complained and server was rude, came out of restaurant saying the tip was not good enough asking for more saying the Canadian service dose not like to serve Latin customers as they do not tip good enough.

The issue with service is due to how owners treat their staff (poorly). As a result they have a high turnover.

I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. I was only able to get a take out, as by the time I reached, it was close to closing time. But the staff was so kind they accepted my order. The atmosphere was nice and cozy.

Im Latina and this food has no flavor, apart from that the service is super bad, a very bad experience, I had high expectations but not , the place was clean and beautiful, but the food and the service were the worst.

We ordered the Flauntas Sonoras which are chicken-filled crispy corn tortillas and my husband found a couple broken pieces of skewers that were used to hold it shut, one was at least a couple inches long and stabbed the inside of his mouth. We told one of the servers there since ours wasn t anywhere seen. They have an explanation but no form of compensation especially when it was more than the one piece found. Definitely not coming back here again.

Really good food. The chef is amazing. Each dish is a pretty good size. You wont be hungry afterwards. I am giving this 3 starts because our server was honestly so out of it. She could not hear/understand what we were saying and we had to repeat ourselves several times. Also she misunderstood my mom when she said she wanted to pay. The server thought we were asking her to pay for our food. Ridiculous I know!!!!
