Visited tonight for a friends holiday dinner, not only was the food amazing but our server Andrea he was just fabulous.. highly recommend we will be back !

My girlfriend was here today and had a horible experience with her server DJ or Deejay. He was rude, did not pay attention to them even though it wasnt busy and took their tiramisu away before they finished. I normally dont write reviews and honestly never complain but hearing this made me wrtie this. I work food service and these are the kind of servers who bring business down. Do better please

Extra star is for the lovely ladies who were welcoming and for their hospitality. We ordered lobster risotto, lobster tasted so old and not at all fresh with mushy meat which was absolutely gross. Risotto tasted like a frozen thawed and served. Ingredients mentioned truffle which did not even produce even a sniff of a scent The waiter was so flat and rather seemed hostile and aggressive at times which was very unpleasant. Would not recommend and not coming back period. Overpriced

First time visiting Luca and the service was amazing. We were lucky enough to have Jordan as our server for the night. While we were unsure on some menu items Jordan was happy to answer our questions and recommended some amazing dishes for us after asking some questions about our dietary preferences and appetite. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for high quality food and a great dining experience. 10/10

I was there December 8th for dinner and it was amazing ! We had the special that night, it was a ravioli and wow it was spectacular. Highly suggest Luca to add this to the regular menu, I want it again ! Thank you to Carmen for her extraordinary customer service. 5/5 everything, thank you !

Luca welcomed us for a birthday dinner for two. The atmosphere was cozy, modern, and perfect for a birthday date night. Our favourite dish was the Fettucine with Wild Mushrooms (with added prawns), they had truffles in-house and our fantastic waiter Andrea shaved it over top of the same dish. From the texture of the sauce to the aroma of the truffles, and the al dente bite of the noodles - this became my new favourite pasta dish. Andrea (patiently) helped us pick out a wine that paired nicely with our meal. For dessert, we enjoyed the Cannoli with Hazelnut filling as recommended by Andrea. I loved these, the hazelnut filling was aromatic with the perfect level of sweetness to go with the crunch of the exterior. Overall, it was an amazing experience, truly looking forward to going back again!

I rate LUCS 2024 best fine dining restaurant. Must try to share: sea brass, seafood linguine, bison. All items on menu & wine list are unbeatable & the best of the best in Calgary.

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere.The service was impeccable. The management was very welcoming, and our waiter, Andrea was extremely attentive and friendly, both ensuring everything was perfect during our visit. The dishes were exceptional, especially the pasta, which was perfectly seasoned. The dessert were also a delight, with the tiramisu standing out. I higly recommend Luca for any occasion: a romantic dinner, a celebration with friends ou a business meeting.

What a great way to spend a special night. Beautiful atmosphere. Great service by Duncan! He was attentive and had great suggestions. Wonderful food. Only small critique is the hamachi crudo could use a bit more acid and the carpaccio could use a cold plate. A+++ on the bison shank!

The food is decent, though a bit overpriced, but the staff and service are outstanding. I keep going back for the respectful service, beautiful interior design, and fantastic atmosphere.

Food was alright. Service was not optimal. Slow. Didn t bother to check in for drink refills. Idk maybe he was having a bad day but when you are gong to a decent restaurant you can at bare minimum expect decent service..

Book well in advance and fall in love with this restaurant. The interior design is amazing all the books are real! The atmosphere is welcoming, with comfortable furniture. The service was excellent; our server was attentive and helpful. The food tasted delicious and was beautifully presented. I highly recommend the panna cotta for dessert.

I celebrated my birthday at Luca with my family and it was incredible! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant to the moment we left, everyone made us feel special and important, especially our server Sylvie. Sylvie made my night! Her attention to detail, her charisma and her professionalism really impressed us. She made us laugh all night long and you could really tell that she knows what shes doing. The food was delicious and my kids loved the special mocktails and dessert. First class service with excellent chefs food choices. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back here for sure!

Came in for our 10-year wedding anniversary, and you guys did not disappoint. From start to finish, you guys are amazing. Service was top notch, value top notch and food top notch. My faith in the service industry has been restored. We will be back..fyi the calamari is the best i have ever tasted.

I visited this establishment for the first time today and I can definitely say I was impressed with the decor, service, ambience and most importantly the food. We shared the burrata and tomato salad, cavatelli and scallop risotto, all were absolutely fabulous and I look forward to returning for dinner.

We had a small group in a private room at Luca recently. We had the best time! The food was exceptional, the service excellent, and the restaurant is beautiful. Highly recommend

At the start of dinner, the service was excellent 10/10. The ambiance was perfect for a date night. They recently changed chefs, so some of the recipes have been updated. I was surprised to find the fettuccine tasted different than usual. The manager came over to explain that they now toast it. While they offered to replace the dish, we declined, as it was fine we were just surprised by the change. However, my issue began afterward. The server stopped paying attention to our table, which was disappointing because her service had been great until then. They did provide complimentary limoncellos before bringing the bill, which was a nice gesture. The last straw came when we paid. We left a 20% tip, and when she asked if we wanted the receipt, we said no. But she insisted, suggesting we might need it if we wanted to dispute the transaction. We were quite offended by this and, unfortunately, won t be returning anytime soon.

I was really disappointed with our experience here. My boyfriend and I love exploring new dining spots, and we were eager to try this place. From the moment we were seated, the service fell short. We were informed our server was busy, and throughout our meal, no one was officially assigned to our table. When we did receive assistance, the responses were often curt, and there seemed to be an extra edge when interacting with my boyfriend. This made us both feel very uncomfortable. Additionally, the food portions were inconsistent, and the pasta lacked flavor. Overall, it was a disappointing visit to a restaurant we had looked forward to. We won t be returning.

One of the worst, and most expensive meals Ive ever had in Calgary. The seafood linguine featured miniature clams the size of peas and horribly overcooked shrimp and scallops. The sable fish special was one of the most visually unappealing things I have ever seen on a plate. The wine list is decent, the only redeeming part of the meal.

We recently visited Luca Restaurant to celebrate a friend s birthday, and overall, it was a great experience! The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was excellent our waitress was so attentive and friendly, which really made the night special. However, I ordered the risotto, and it was extremely spicy, which wasn t indicated on the menu. All of my friends found their dishes unexpectedly spicy as well. Since we were in a good mood, we didn t complain, but I d recommend the restaurant pay closer attention to how much spice is used and mark the spice levels on the menu to avoid surprises. Otherwise, it was a fantastic evening, and I would still recommend Luca for their great service and ambiance.

Food was increíble satisfecho and the service by Jeffrey was top notch. Every bite was mindfully savoured. Highly recommend the calamari, the seafood linguine and the chocolate tart for dessert.

I found everything amazing at this place, it has amazing ambience and setup , amazing food and staff were very friendly and helpful in deciding the menu . We went for a friends birthday dinner and had a really good time . Roast chicken breasts and prawns were my favorite. Vegetarian options: Some good options available for vegetarians

I am in awe of the unbelievable, amazing staff. The chefs were so professional, kind and truly proud of there amazing craft. I can not remember ever having such amazing food with such inviting atmosphere. Our server, Silvie was outstanding!!! She was so genuinely kind and sweet. Management was wonderful, the vibe, decor just amazing. This is our new spot! Since I can not write another review, I just have to say after our third time at Luca, just WOW!!! Hands down this is the #1 restaurant in Calgary. The service, the atmosphere and the phenomenal chef service. The most amazing dinner bar non.

This is all around a rock solid place to visit. Food was super high quality. Service was quite good as well. Be advised there is a very mild dress code and the place is a bit higher end, but not annoyingly so. No kids and lost of soft surfaces to absorb sound, so it never feels like youre crowded or having to yell. Youd want to be prepared to spend a bit, knowing the overall experience and quality of food is higher end. Would recommend for sure.

Its unfortunate Google only permits five stars when you have had a 10-star experience. Just first-rate! Duncan was exemplary. Cant say enough.

LUCA was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and the inviting ambiance of the restaurant. It s clear that the staff takes pride in their work and values customer satisfaction. Now, onto the food wow! Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. For the main course, we opted for the garganelli al barolo, and it exceeded all expectations. To finish, the bombolini was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. Great Italian restaurant in Downtown Calgary. The menu has the option for Family style or for individual dishes. The menu has a diversity of dishes, and the usual suspects in any Italian restaurant, they just have their own flavour, and I would say it is tasty. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing, the service is excellent, and the location is ok. Overall I think it is a great Italian option for Calgarians and I would recommend it.

Unbelievable restaurant, The Fettuccine was fabulous as was the Caesar salad. Desserts are decant and great service. Wine selection is extensive and decor elegance superb. Classic lounge next door called Fleetwood.

Luca is a triple-hit restaurant! The food is incredible (linguine, calamari, brussel sprouts salad and prawns highly recommend). The ambience is absolutely beautiful. But the defining factor is the impeccable service. We had a group dinner here to celebrate a big milestone event and Jilian was the BEST server/host we have ever had. Every time I come to Luca, I m blown away by the friendly service. Top-notch

If you are looking for a 5 star dining experience, Luca s is one of the few places in Calgary that can pull it off. The place is gorgeous. Food is great and the service is impeccable. We found it pretty cool that the dinner menus are back lit. Great for us mature folks that need readers and have trouble seeing in low light.

hands down the best service ive ever gotten from any place period. it made the food taste better, the music sound sweeter, and overall made me want to keep giving them more money (even at this price point). repeating what everyone says the staff is super nice, food is great, and i highly recommend checking it out. just stay away from their drinks. (2 glasses of coke is like $8 but its only 1 can split into two, plus no free refills)

Beyond highly impressed. Everything from the moment we walked into the building was above and beyond our expectations. We were greeted with grace and kindness and sat at our table by the wonderful hostesses. We were then greeted immediately by our server Tom and offered celebration prosecco as we were celebrating a birthday. Tom answered all of our questions about the menu with ease and made us feel right at home, suggesting delightful dishes. We had the belini, which was amazing, pear cocktail, Caesar salad, which we LOVED, the chefs special and the crab pasta dish. All were so amazing and really set the tone for the most wonderful night out. The manager popped by the table a couple of times to check on us, and I honestly just cant find the words to share what a phenomenal experience this entire evening was from start to finish. 12/10 would recommend. Thank you, Tom and the whole team!

Horrible experience. It was my birthday, and our waiter wouldnt stop showering my girlfriend with compliments. While it was okay at first, it felt disingenuous and like there was a motive behind it. We ate our food and tipped after paying the bill. However, the waiter seemed disappointed with our tip amount and basically demanded more. She claimed her pay depended on the customer s tips, which felt manipulative and insulting. Despite having already tipped, she used her calculator to show us how much more we should tip and put it into the machine herself. I was very heated but chose not to make a scene on my birthday night. However, I left extremely disappointed and don t plan on visiting this place again.

Atmosphere is nice but food is only ok for the price you pay. $200 bill for 2 and you are not full. Portions are extremely small. And the taste was not the best and mostly tasted like salt for our pasta dish and entree with a lack of flavor, this place is overhyped. The appetizers were bland as well. Service was only ok, werent on top of drinks and water, and service very slow esp at end of dinner service. For a special occasion, they dont do anything special for their customers, seems very cheap. Other Italian restaurants do something special for celebrations. Our server Jillian was not very pleasant, and seemed a bit forceful in having us order desserts when we were full.

Amazing foods and service

We visited Luca for the first time, to celebrate my wifes birthday with a group of friends. The restaurant felt very welcoming with its upscale, modern decor. The atmosphere felt elegant, yet cozy with its open concept kitchen in the centre of the restaurant. I also found the acoustics for the noise level quite good making it easy to carry on a conversation at the table. The service was flawless, and the food was amazing! They also have an extensive wine list which was quite impressive. I would highly recommend trying Luca if you are looking for an amazing meal with impeccable service! Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free, Peanut Free

Do not go to this restaurant if you are driving there. There is so much construction and very little parking. I drove around for 50 minutes looking for a parking spot and finally left and my friends and I ended up driving into West Hills for lunch instead. Nightmare.

It s a great firm dining restaurant. They have great pasta but other than that the menu is extremely limited. We loved the fettuccine with mushrooms and truffles. The caesar salad was good too. Malorey provided exceptional service. She was a great server and helpful when making suggestions.

It s a gem. Great food. Sylvia is best server. Only issue was it took 2 hours to get our mains. And I got locked out in the hallway after a trip to the restroom.

Confused as to why the website states made from scratch. Not sure what dishes were made from scratch, but it wasn t the signature parts. Additionally the website says fresh pasta, but it s from a box. Also pretty sure the ice cream is bryers ice cream. Anyways, not sure why an italian restaurant claiming to be premium wouldn t make their own pasta and ice cream .considering that s an important part of Italian cuisines.

Incredible food. Service is exactly what you want at an Italian restaurant. The room is very welcoming, style & atmosphere made me want to stay. Food was out of this world, beautiful and delicious. The wine list, I couldn t choose so the waiter picked the perfect bottle. I promise if you don t order dessert you will regret it.

Im extremely disappointed with my experience at Luca. We clearly communicating my girlfriends celiac to them and they assured us that the food was gluten-free. However, it clearly wasnt, as she got sick right after eating their food. Extremely misleading to promise us they can prepare a gluten free meal, but then not be able to deliver. If you have any form of gluten intolerance, I strongly advise against Luca.

Our server Matt was excellent. First course was Calamari, second was the Linguine damare then we finished with the 10oz New york strip. The Chianti pairing suggested was phenomenal as well. Great seeing chef Ro. This restaurant is full of talent. Thank you Anthony for the recommendations. It was elegant experience.

I found it cheap when you pay $195 for lunch for two and they didn t wave an $8 for a nonalcoholic drink that you didn t like and barely touched and replaced with coke just to be safe. Not very nice.

This is by far one of my favourite restaurants in yyc. The Caesar salad (which may seem basic) is the perfect balance of taste, and crunch. Topped with the BEST, I m not kidding, the absolute best chicken I ve ever had. Their lamb, and beef carpaccio also cannot be beat! The staff are unbelievably joyful and so happy to remember you with your order any day of the week.

Visited first time for dinner. The decor and ambience is really nice, welcoming and calming. However, the food was really awful from my perspective, as everything I tried is just full of so much salt and thats all you taste! I felt uncomfortable and parched for hours after. Service was just about alright, though a tad bit slow towards the end when we were looking for someone to come back and take our payment. And the tipping screen had 18% as the minimum option (you could choose your own) but still why put 18% as the minimum option when the service is not up to par. Disappointing experience overall.

Confused about the amazing reviews, all of the food we had was so average. Disappointing for the price point, I was hoping for more. The bread & whipped butter was the star of the show, everything else fell flat. Started with the bruchetta, one of my favorite foods. It was an $18 square of bread with crushed tomato and anchovies. Where was the basil? The flavour? It tasted like canned tomato on toast, so bland. Next was the caesar salad which was also nothing special, very grocery store-esque. Nothing amazing about the dressing, toppings etc. We had the chicken as a main with the potatoes. For $38 it was a single chicken breast on 3 golf ball sized dumplings with a sauce that tasted very much like boxed onion soup mix. The potatoes were, potatoes. Overall, there was no wow factor for any of the food. My date & I were disappointed, at that price we couldve dined somewhere exceptional. I will say, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere is lovely. Likely, I would never try this venue again.

Luca is a shining beacon of best practices in the Calgary restaurant scene. We had the superb service last night from a team of professionals - non intrusive yet attentive, friendly without being smarmy. The Food was inventive and interesting and the Chef obviously has his own aesthetic that transcends other offerings. The interior is a feast for the eyes as well. The area is sophisticated and offers privacy and intimacy. Parking: There is parking underground and i will use next time i visit

Came here for a Sunday night dinner with my family. We were greeted very nicely by the hostess at the front who placed us at a table that could accommodate a booster chair. We very much appreciated that. Our servers were friendly and attentive. New plates and cutlery along with water were replenished as needed. We ordered a few items including the caesar salad, linguine di mare, risotto allaragosta and branzino. We finished our meal with the tiramisu and bavarese. Overall the food quality is very good. This is expected given what Luca is trying to achieve with Italian ingredients and the price point that they are charging. We enjoyed our meal and are glad an establishment like this exists in Calgary. We would definitely return. Just some minor feedback. We are not sure if the restaurant intends to serve the branzino the way it did. Weve ordered this fish many times in other Italian/ Mediterranean restaurants in our travels. Usually the fish is completely deboned by the servers table side allowing you to enjoy the filet. When we had ordered this dish at Luca, although the fish head and main spine was removed, large segments of bones remained throughout the remaining fish fillet and chunks. We had to remove quite a few of these bones in between bites which made the overall experience slightly less enjoyable than it would have been had more of the bones been removed. The fish however, was excellent and was cooked well. If this is not how the fish was meant to be served, perhaps the restaurant should review this with their servers. But if this is how Luca intends branzino to be served, then this comment can be ignored.

We went for our anniversary. Everything was perfect... the ambiance and the overall feel was fantastic. The sauces were on point and properly seasoned. Meat was cooked to perfection. Seafood was good ( I am not a big seafood person and I ate these dishes!) I highly recommend!

The epitome of classic white linen fine dining and modern style. The service was impeccable, from hostess to waitress. They have perfected the small nuances that bring back the nostalgia of classic fine dining. The food was equally amazing and impressive. Will come again and again.

We visited Luca this weekend for my birthday and were so impressed. Great atmosphere and service, where they kept an eye on if we needed anything but made sure not to interrupt in between. I ordered the agnolotti as Im not a seafood fan, and while it was the smallest portioned meal out of our party it was delicious and still satisfying. The bavarese for dessert was outstanding. Great presentation on every dish.

The best!!

Visited here for date night with my husband and we both loved the ambience. The complimentary bread did not meet our expectation as it tasted and looked like store bought bread. The service was excellent, noteworthy was Tammy our server who was attentive and friendly. We loved our cocktails; mine was the Bellini and hubby had a whiskey based cocktail. Everything else we tried was cooked to perfection.

I went here for my birthday dinner with my Mom, and as Italians, we were very pleased with Luca. The cocktails were all masterfully made and delicious. The pasta was some of the best I have had in the city outside my Nonnas house, and the atmosphere was superb. Think upscale modern Italian. Very well-appointed dining room with well-dressed and knowledgeable front-of-house staff. The cherry on the top was generous portions and a complimentary Limoncello for my birthday. We will be back for sure.

Staff was loudly arguing with eachother in open kitchen. Food was overpriced, terribly prepared and tasteless. Seating was squished in very tightly. Definitely will not be going back.

I think its okay but had a bizarre experience at the front. We walked in with a reservation and waited in front of the host for a few minutes as she seemed to be busy with something. No issues with this. She then looked past us at people just coming in and welcomed them and they ended up being seated first. I dont care what order were seated in but it was just weird and awkward as we were right in front of her at the desk and had obviously been waiting for a little while. We paid $330 for the seafood tower plus appetizers and we were not full at the end which was disappointing as we have small appetites and normally have leftovers after dining out. The food was okay with the exception of the crab legs which had no flavor.

I dont really write restaurant reviews but this restaurant & all of its staff deserve this review. I treat my parents on thier anniversary to a date. This year I booked them at Luca. As I made the reso, I put a note saying it was a celebration & that they are very special people & I hope they are treated as such. After my parents dinner my mother & father both raved about the service from the hostes, server & manager. They said it was THE BEST SERVICE THEY HAD EVER RECIEVED! I have been sending them to different fine dining restaurants for about 15 years. This was their favorite. The food was delicious & they enjoyed the atmosphere. I want to thank you for treating my parents so amazing. Good service is so hard to come by. Excellent service definitely deserves recognition.

Had the regular menu for New Year s Eve dinner. Service was very attentive and had good recommendations for menu items. The pasta was our favorite as it was very fresh, light tasting, and the guanciale was excellent. The host staff are also extra nice and are a wonderful start and end to the experience. We will likely dine here again.

Had the lamb shank for lunch today and it was fantastic. Some of the best I ve ever had. Will be coming back!

Pro- Food was pretty tasty, servings are small and costly. Atmosphere and aesthetics were beautiful. Con - It cost extra to get any customization on meals even just adding some cheese on your pasta and that s just ridiculous. Food

Great place to have dinner, shared the seafood pasta and grilled octopus salad with my date and they were both delightful to our tastebuds! There was also an assorted bread basket for the table. Only thing I didn t like was our seating because it seemed like our conversations kept being interrupted by servers coming to grab stuff from the drawer next to us. Would visit again but definitely choose a different table.

Mocktails and service great 10/10, food and attitude from chef when simply asked if the tiramisù was made with or without alcohol not so great :/ place was ok, it has an aim to be upscale but I m not sure it s genuine.

My wife and I went here for my first fathers day. The food was exceptional but extremely small portions. I found the service to be slow and non-attentive. I kept having to ask to refill my drink even though it was empty. The service to the table next to ours was outstanding. They must of been regulars. I enjoyed the calamari buy the steak and potatoes was extremely small. I am not sure I would go back.

Food was great, service was great. We sat at the kitchen bar and got to see everything get cooked and plated. It was a lovely experience. We ordered oysters, scallop crudo, mushroom fettuccine, and veal. For dessert we got the tiramisu and pana cotta. Enjoyable meal.

Food was excellent. We did wish there was a single person steak option for dinner like they have at lunch. Service was inconsistent, attentive at times but it took 30 min to take our dinner order, they took our drink order twice and the next table got my husbands 2nd beer which confused everyone. We watched the table argue that they didn t order it. We had the raviolo, tiger prawns, carpaccio, Caesar salad and rack of lamb. All excellent and well priced. We will go again, perhaps the sever was having an off night

Food was sub par, especially for the price. The scallop crudo was the best part of the meal, but the presentation didnt make up for the lack of flavour. The simplicity of Italian food has been lost. The Mortadella Agnolotti was nothing special, nor was the presentation. At the very least, I expected to leave the restaurant fulfilled, but the portion size left me hungry. The atmosphere was nice, very clean and tasteful, but I went in during stampede, so country and pop music was playing far too loud to keep the intimate and cozy feeling that the decor and setting gave. I will not be returning, but I can see the appeal.

Get the lobster risotto and the panna cotta for dessert

Luca has a beautifully curated aesthetic. The decor is exquisite and luxurious. I love sitting at the bar because it feels like a private chef experience. Watching the food being prepared teases your tastebuds to the max! The anticipation for your meal makes the experience so much better. The meals are carefully prepared and you can tell that great attention is paid to detail. I love the recently revamped menu and will always consider this place a special treat. 10/10

Great place for dinner on a special occasion. Out of all the appetizers we got, the beef carpaccio was our favorite. The scallop crudo was average. The grilled octopus was a bit too smoky which was a bit overpowering. The linguine di Mare was amazing and our favorite dish. Veal was tender and well executed. Service and ambiance were great.

From all the new restaurants that have opened up, i recommend Luca, the service, the food, the vibe was all worth it.

Insanely good. I dont really know what else to say. The experience was absolutely top notch. The cocktails were great - I had a Hugo and it was served with a glass straw (a first for me, thank you so much for that nice touch!) The wine list is very thoughtfully put together as well. The food was incredible (we had calamari, Fettuccine ai Fungi, Chicken Gnudi, tiramisu and the bavarese which is a chocolate mousse type dessert (the only picture I thought to take!). The quality and presentation of everything we ate were equally impressive. The service? OUTSTANDING. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to have you there and they all took great care of us. Jaimie was our server and she was a delight. Knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and very attentive. 10 Star Experience from dining in at this restaurant last night for my birthday dinner! I live in the building upstairs and I am upset it took me this long to try it out! Mustafa and his team of chefs are such a well run ship! I can t give them enough praises. I strongly believe they deserve a Michelin star for how much meticulous detail in presentation they do along with world class quality ingredients in each of their dishes! The flavour profiles of everything I tried blew me away! Big shout out to head Chef Mustafa and Chef Carlos for really helping me out in choosing what I wanted and Chef Carlos for cooking my Steak to perfection! Antony the Assistant manager made sure my birthday experience was memorable. Will be back so soon! Highly recommend this top tier restaurant for dinner and also any special occasion. Do yourselves a favour and try it out for yourself!

Partner took me here for my birthday. Service and the attentiveness of the staff is top-notch, they are very good at making it feel like a special experience. The food was hit or miss. We got the carpaccio (amazing) and the bruschetta (okay) to start. My partner got the chicken gnudi, I had the linguine di mare. Mine was really good, lots of seafood, great portion size. The chicken however was a really big disappointment - tiniest chicken breast Ive ever seen, and I personally hated the ricotta dumpling (he was indifferent). Coming off the amazing roast chicken we had at Major Tom a few months ago, it was very underwhelming. That being said, the desserts were FANTASTIC, and neither me or my partner drink but their alcohol-free drinks are SO good. Its rare to see beautifully and intentionally crafted cocktails catering to the alcohol-free crowd, so that was a lovely surprise. Overall, it was definitely an experience and happy we went, but the hit or miss food (at least for us - were pretty simple in terms of taste) and the prices make it unlikely well be back. Maybe just for drinks and desserts!

I visited Luca for the first time on Tuesday night for dinner and it was pleasant experience! First of all, I found their service level is quite high, reception was welcoming, servers are professional, they are attentive but not too much. The manager also came to say hi, it was nicely done. Their food was nice too, my favorite was lobster risotto. It came with one full lobster, the lobster was porched with herb/spice and had interesting flavor. Risotto also had lobster flavor, highly recommend. I also tried octopus insalata, grilled scallops, and hazelnut mouse dessert. It was all good, octopus was a little bit bland. They serve bread basket with whipped garlic butter. Their focaccia was really salty and I could not eat it at all. The atmosphere was dark and moody, good for date night! They also have semi private room with round table, it d be nice for a special gathering. Pricing is on expensive side but I consider this restraint to be high end so it makes sense. Overall very pleasant experience, would come back for sure!

The food was undoubtedly delicious, I ordered a Fettuccini Ai Funghi and it was truly spectacular, my mother ordered Lamb, and without a doubt delicious, but I want to emphasize that apart from the exquisite food, the service was spectacular and genuine, the truth is that They treated us in a super friendly way, even though in some restaurants of the same range they somewhat reject us arriving with a 3-year-old child, and the service and attention were spectacular not only with us adults, but also with my brother.

The bread and butter were extremely salty but the food was excellent. My favourite part of the night was the service, from the hostess to the manager we went to celebrate two special occasions, they truly made us feel special. Our server / Bartender was a delight his name is Liam. I belong to the hospitality industry and often evaluate the service more than the food itself. This restaurant is an example of that. I recently had the pleasure of dining at an Italian restaurant that left me thoroughly impressed. The service was impeccable attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our overall experience was great. I would give the food here a 100 stars! It was all just so so good. Well thought out dishes with excellent flavour. Highly recommend the Calamari appetizer and the Lamb entree. The service from our actual server was just ok, we were celebrating my birthday but he didnt really try to converse with us or ask us if we were celebrating or make any recommendations. However, the manager on the floor was wonderful. He checked in on us multiple times and was so pleasant. Im sad I didnt get his name. We will be back!

I am already thinking of my next trip so I can go back. Absolutely everything was incredible

Best place for your lunch or dinner

Had a really great dinner with my 3 girlfriends and 4 month old baby. I appreciated every staff member that accommodated us with my 4 month baby, sitting us in a great spot being that I had a stroller. The server was fun, professional and lovely, he took really good care of us and so kind to my baby. The manager checked in on at times as well which was nice. The food - so good. We had the fettuccine(the best dish we had), lobster risotto, beef tataki, Cabrese salad(so delicious and fresh I could have had 2 plates, octopus, scallops and all 4 desserts! All very good. I would come back again to try the other dishes. Highly recommend. The only thing is they didn t have a baby change table in the washroom. And the parking lot they have has maybe 10 spots for the whole building - not great, but down the street has a big parking lot building thankfully.

Amazing food!

Honestly, it wasnt a bad experience, it just wasnt great. The food was mediocre at best. Lacked flavour. Was all slightly overcooked. The polenta was topped with an overbearing sauce that didnt go well with the lamb. The pasta was supposed to be spicy, but was very mild and the sauce didnt really work with the penne. The shrimp was overdone and rubbery. Our server was nice and we appreciated how honest she was, but I think there mightve just been a bad day in the kitchen or something. For the prices, I would expect high quality not mediocre quality.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely lunch here this past week. The elservice was fantastic and the food was awesome - well both be back. Great wine list and the cocktails were unique, creative and delicious. They offer gluten free pasta as a sub which was a pleasant surprise! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options Parking: Remember your license plate and register it with the hostess. One issue we had was the garage door didnt open and the call button to the concierge is a nice idea but didnt work - a lovely resident had to help us by swiping in.

Great experience at Luca. Our server, Jamie, was fantastic. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was refined and comfortable. Will certainly be returning.

Definitely overpriced. Food was good but not exceptional. Considering most items are $50-75 I was expecting to be blown away. There s a lot of good restaurants in Calgary for a much lower price point. Service again, was good but not great. Definitely not 18% great, but that s the minimum lol

Beautiful dinner with great atmosphere. Menus were backlit so we didn t have to use our glasses to read it. Had the lobster risotto, burrata, raviolo, beet salad and desserts. All done to perfection.

This is currently my favorite restaurant in the city. The food is amazing, the service is the best and the atmosphere adds to much to the experience. Looking forward to my next visit. Parking: Underground, easy to find, a bit tight. Kid-friendliness: Waiter was SO nice to my girls, they loved the food and had a blast. I was impressed.

Nice fancy restaurant. Not the most expensive place Ive been to, but definitely one of the fanciest place Ive eaten at The place accomodated a large group for our staff party with reservation in advance. The private room was perfect for us. We had a few bottles of wine, decent selection of food , cocktails and everyone enjoyed all of it. I just wished our server was more upbeat on accommodating for our requests , especially when they did it anyways. Being told no first then yes without much pushing made me feel bad for asking.

We were there for our anniversary I couldnt say it enough how much I loved the interior design and lighting it really set the vibe. Staff were polite and friendly. We ordered feature duck pasta and chicken gnudi. Duck was yummy however chicken wasnt good it wasnt marrinated well and dumplings were cold and chewy. For desert we ordered bavarse and it was top notch.

Impeccable service, wine recommendations were superb, the only drawback was the food. Caesar salad dressing was outstanding however it was served with wilted romaine. I did mention this to my server and was surprised to still see it on the bill. The lamb flavor was delicious as it was sous vide, however it was served between rare and medium rare which I feel is appropriate for beef, not lamb, should be closer to medium. Also the description came with a ratatouille type dish, while it was served with a polenta. All in all a nice evening, the menu is well structured and representative of an authentic Italian restaurant, however the food preparation and delivery could use some expertise.

From the ambience to the food, everything was top notch!

My partner and I went for a date and decided to try Luca (we live next to Mercato so wanted to try another Italian place). First of all, we were lucky to have one of the best waiters - Andrea! The wine and service were excellent. Secondly, the atmosphere is really nice and perfect for an intimate date or dinner with friends/colleagues. The appetizers, grilled prawns and carpaccio were amazing. The amatriciana pasta tasted homemade and was also incredible. Our only complaint was the $75 veal chop Marsala that was tough and wasn t what we expected for the price. Nonetheless, we would recommend Luca and will be back in the future.

The service was superb and the nd atmosphere was very nice. The food however was a bit of a let down. The Burrata was outstandkng, however the Linguini with clams and prawns flavor was lacking and a couple of the clams were VERY fishy and gritty. For the price and flavor, I would have to give it a 3.5 stars.

Overall great restaurant and would definitely come back. I got the Oh Pear cocktail and it was amazing. The branzino was also excellent. What sets Luca apart is the service. The host staff were welcoming, same as our server and also the chefs team. You can tell that Luca really cares about making a memorable experience for their customers. The decor was stylish and sleek. Would definitely recommend Luca to friends and family.

I actually cant say enough good things about this place, from the service to the food, everything just comes together perfectly. I was first introduced by a great buddy of mine and fantastic Realtor (Ill do a quick little plug here for Mark Lukwinski with CIR real estate) for my birthday lunch back in September and then I was again treated by another couple buddies here in the following days. I will absolutely make it a point to take clients here for lunch and dinner as the service is speedy. and the food is unbelievably tasty and the wine selection is spectacular. Heard great things about this place. We made a reservation a week in advance for a family including a minor and they sat us in the bar. We asked for a different table and we were told this was only option. There was maybe 3 tables with customers. We left. No idea how the food is but the service is not great. Very few times Ive felt discriminated in Canada, this experience was a first in Calgary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wrote to this Mike guy on email he provided with a few more details and never heard back from him. Waste of my time!

I brought my staff here for our Christmas party. This was our second time here. The first time was about a year ago and it was amazing. This time was a bit underwhelming. We had the tomato bruschetta appetizer and it was so salty it tasted off; the toast square it was on was soggy like dough. My husband and I both ordered the linguine di mare. It was supposed to be spicy, but it had barely any flavour. The prawns were rubbery and over cooked but the scallops were perfect. I had 2 tiny clams that were so stuck to the shell, getting them out was fun. The pasta overall lacked any flavour. The other people at our table had similar comments about their food. Our server was great and the atmosphere is great too. They need to step up their game on the food.

Excellent food and service at Luca! I sat at the open kitchen bar and took in how they created their amazing dishes. I was treated so well by the hostess, waitress, manager, and chefs, asking me how I was enjoying my meal and they even gave me a couple of samples from the menu. My waitress recommended great choices and surprised me with a limoncello on the house! I had the garganelli amatriciana, shaved brussel sprouts, and bavarese for dessert. Thank you Luca for the exceptional service!
