Mister M Calgary in Calgary

I ordered the $34 scallops. I got 3. Are you joking? I m only rating the food as a four because the other meals were delicious. The scallop dish should be about 15 bucks. My friends got the fish and the brisket and that was appropriate for price and flavour.

After 1 year being a patron, still find Mister M being best in dining & entertainment. New simplified menu & bottle service ideal for all occasions. New Sunday dinner & Jazz night, very awesome. Famous neon BD SIGN for photo at table.

We recently dined at Mister M and tried their ribeye, sunomono salad, and fries, and each dish was exceptional. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, with just the right amount of char that brought out its rich flavors. The sunomono salad was refreshing a perfect balance of tangy and sweet, adding a light complement to the main dish. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, a comforting addition that rounded out the meal nicely. Overall, Mister M delivered on quality and taste, making for a memorable dining experience. PS great drink menu! Highly recommend!

Had gone in here for a friends Birthday recently and I was appalled at the price I paid for the service and quality of items I received. The admittedly nice atmosphere was unfortunately unable to save the experience. The steak was not good, over done and flavourless with a bunch of fat to boot. The group sangria ordered was watered down. The server also didn t let us know about the 20% auto-gratuity that was going to be included for a group of 7. Would not recommend.

The food was really quite excellent, we had the lamb, short ribs, duck and chicken bites. All of which were good moist meat with good sides. Id get the lamb again. For dessert we had the Tres Leches and the Creme Brulee. The Tres Leches was so moist and perfectly flavourful and surprisingly sharable with the table, moist but not too wet, fantastic Tres Leches. The Creme Brulee when eaten with all of its components was a fantastic treat, had a very Taro kind of taste which I personally love. Would get both again. Portions are classic fancy white People kinda sizes, so expect to also scoop up appetizers and a dessert to be properly full. Classic level of service, was a few points where our glasses of waters were empty for a little too long for my liking but otherwise good. Atmosphere was most delightful, we were there on live jazz night, right near the performers, volume was perfect I could still talk to all of my table at regular volume without anything hurting my ears but not being too quiet. The acoustics were superb didnt hear anyone else really talking other than my table and wasnt echoing. Would highly recommend for a date night or somewhere to eat to actually hear everyone talking Dietary restrictions: They were some excellent options for gluten-free, vegan, etc Kid-friendliness: Not at all Wheelchair accessibility: Pretty accessible

Try the Lamb!

The atmosphere, the service and the drinks were so amazing!! High end and mature vibe which is such a great place to have within this city for the older crowd, Kaitlyn was such an amazing server ! However I really wish they had the old menu back, was really looking forward to try all of the things and hadn t realized the menu had changed and would have preferred that one , other wise all around it s a great place

Everything at this restaurant is amazing. Good food, good ambience, great staff! I would recommend this place to anyone looking to take their special someone out for a good time.

Im always willing to pay for quality food and good service, but unfortunately, the service here was lacking. Our appetizers were dropped off without plates, and the server disappeared until the appetizers were cold. Ordering another round of drinks was also frustrating due to the lack of attentiveness. We had a vegan guest at our table and requested that the server consult the chef to see if they could accommodate. Instead of checking, the server simply suggested a basic salad option without exploring other possibilities. I also asked if the curry could be omitted from my halibut. The server said she d check but never followed up, so I only found out the curry was omitted when the dish arrived at the table. Despite these challenges, we made the most of it thanks to great company. However, the service we received didn t justify the price, which was disappointing.

This place can be hit or miss on the weekends.

Over all a great place, great atmosphere good vibes. But the tall bouncer is little aggressive, confrontational. Needs a lesson on people relations. Besides that I recommend this place!

Caitlyn was amazing! She let Toronto fashion academy host their photoshoot and an amazing after party. She is so sweet, her staff was so sweet. Music was amazing. I cant recommend mister M enough. Cant wait to come back

Got the tomahawk steak and sashimi platter with a few drinks. The steak was a little dry ( was more of a medium well) the platter was delicious and the drinks were fun and good . The old fashion was ok would have been better with a fresh orange peel 3/5. Will go again tho had a good time over all. Came again for the club part and it was bonkers . Good vibes tho

We went to Mister M on a double date and had a phenomenal time! I got the fettuccine with shrimp and it was the best pasta I ve ever had. Atmosphere and overall vibe were top notch. There were sparklers blowing up left and right for special occasions - so I had to make up my own special occasion just to get a sparkler atop my tres leches cake. Lexi was our server and she s a top notch girl. Had us in stitches with some unique table side humour. Thanks for taking such good care of our high maintenance party. See you next time!

The first time I came her we had a fantastic time. This time, however, it sucked. The girl at the front saw us like 3 times and still we had to rustle up a receipt for her to believe that we just left (we got a stamp but the blacklight burned out apparently). Im not sure what else her job entails but apparently its too much for her to remember.... Also, the staff were a bit pushy when they were tearing down all the tables, I was bumped into and my glass smashed into my face and spilled all over.

Yes, its true that this place is extremely expensive. However, its absolutely worth the cost. My wife and I went for a friends birthday party and we had some of the best food, if not the best food weve ever had in Calgary at this establishment, at least in terms of fine dining. The drinks are also very good although very very expensive. I think this is what you would call a Get what you pay for scenario. If youre just going out for a regular night, dont bother with this place, but if youre going out for a night to celebrate something truly special, this is a place that should be at the top of your list. We will absolutely be coming back for our next special occasion.

Had my friends birthday in here. It was 10/10. The service was really great. The food was perfect. The ambiance was really good. Highly recommend the cosmic inferno cocktail. They even gave us a complimentary drink for everyone at our table & gave our friend a complimentary cake. Would definitely go back!

Went there for a ladies night out and it was such a fantastic experience. Our server was amazing and so sweet accommodating our request to share all dishes and even treated us to sparklers and celebratory lit up signs during our dessert course. Everything tasted so good as well, especially the cabbage steak. Will definitely be returning!

Mediocre food, saltiest steak I have ever eaten hands down!

From the minute we got there Mr. M was super disappointing. The hostess was downright rude and ignorant, the service was horrible, and to top it off it is highly overpriced. I will say the food was good, but I had to share a steak knife with my wife after ordering the duck and steak, not too impressive after a $280 bill. Service was slow is an understatement. Then to top it all off their door guys were super rude as well and had a few comments that left me in shock. Stay away from this place at all costs.

Food and service was really good! But the music was absolute garbage.

It really seems like a fancy club but I would only go there to dance and not eat dinner. Very expensive for what it is. The place looks nice but they barely gave you any food. We ordered the salmon and it was in a pool of oil with barely any vegetables. The duck came with like four brussel sprouts cut in half and a spoonful of butternut squash. We were starving afterwards to say the least. Not many options to choose from and they make it seem upscale but the food quality doesn t match the price. No issue with the server but would not come here again to eat.

Went with my sister and a few girlfriends to celebrate my birthday and I wish I could give you a better rating than 5 out of 5 The staff were AMAZING and really made the night special! The food and drinks (especially their specialities cocktails) were superb and so fun! Followed by dancing what can I say other than I had a blast! Thank you so much for an awesome night! Vegetarian options: The staff were so accommodating and helpful to make substitutions to the fettuccine pasta dish for us. Really greatly appreciated that!

Came with a friend, only got to try the appetizers as they were quite filling. Never had a chance to have mains, we decided to have dessert instead which were both excellent.(Forgot to take a picture of the chocolate mousse dessert)

Mister M used to be one of my Favorite places to enjoy a more low key club atmosphere and get art done. But as of more recently theyve made a lot of quality of life changes that really hurt the atmosphere I used to go there for. Firstly, is the dress code and security. Dress code can take literal hours to get through, since the security guard will take their issues with whatever youre wearing one at a time, additionally, the dress code in question bars bags, which is needlessly inconvenient for the guest since bags arent clothes. Theres also issues with recent advertisement for Mister M claiming itself to have a self imposed 25+ age limit. This is absolutely abhorrent anywhere but especially in this province (for those reading from outside Alberta, youth and young adults here need to fight our provincial government to maintain their basic rights, and face even more scrutiny and marginalization in Alberta then they would in other provinces), and finally, the seeming removal of Gogo sets in Mister M hurts the experience, and combined with the prior points makes it very difficult to justify over its competition. See, Mister M used to implement their gogo in a very interesting way: Gogo dancers were not given a stage, but instead got to roam the floor and interact with guests over their set, almost like a Disney park character dining experience. The loss of such an interesting idea is tragic and without it Mister M is just another fancy dinner joint with a little extra hassle To be clear, as with my review on Papis, this is coming from a place of love, which is why the review is 2 stars and not 1 star, every negative listed here is absolutely fixable, and used to be fixed, which is why I want so badly to see them fixed again. I want to be able to once again bring my drawing tablet on my briefcase to Mister M and finish up art while occasionally being interacted with by the gogo dancers (and I think someone younger then me deserves to have that opportunity too), but recently that just hasnt been possible

Cant rate the food didnt eat there BUT what a good time! Threw a surprise party for my friend and making the arrangements was so lovely to coordinate with. Everyone woke a little less than energetic but the evening was worth the pain!

I went here for the launch of their brunch & was quite disappointed with the quality of the food. The quiche like Costco quality. The burger & fries were nothing to right home about. The Aperol spritz was watery to say the least. The dj after brunch was so good! The place was half empty too. Overall I d say this was an epic flop. Next time I d just go for the day disco & drinks not the food!

The food and service were excellent! All staff members were very attentive and kind. My Fiancé and I went out for dinner to celebrate our recent engagement and we were surprised with a slice of cake and Prosecco. We had a wonderful night and will be back.

Google Says they are open for lunch. Even had a big sign outside that says Open for Lunch. Brought a bunch of clients from out of town to have lunch and the whole place was dark. Pretty disappointing when business owners cant even take 2 minutes to ensure their details are correct. Wont be coming back or recommending it.

Ok atmosphere and good food. Would have been nice to be told there is charge for water. Regular priced bottled or sparkling is 9$ which was not informed to us prior to our seating. An extra charge not found at significantly better places like Major Tom Bar. Missed communication and accountability is a big thing so disappointed by this experience. Wouldn t recommend.

My birthday dinner didnt go as planned. Even though I reserved a table for eight, only five of us made it. Service was slow we waited 15 minutes for drinks and had to flag down the server to order food. My gnocchi arrived with peppers, despite my request without them, and some friends got the wrong orders. Then, to top it off, we were charged a 20% gratuity meant for parties of six or more, even though we were only five. When we asked, they said it was because of the original reservation size. The rushed atmosphere didnt help either. Overall, the experience was disappointing!! Do not recommend coming here even thought the atmosphere was really nice, just wish we had a better experience.

I got a recommendation from a friend to try out Mister M for dinner. I made a reservation for Friday night for a table for two dinner date. The place was very high class and they had a performance from a violinist through out the meal. We ordered the Burrata Salad, Black Apron Ribeye, and the Foie Gras. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. I want to also give a special thanks to Lexy who was serving our table. She made our first dining experience there perfect. She explained the menu to us and gave us good suggestions based on what we told her we liked. We will definitely be back and we hope that she can serve us again when we do.

I went tonight for a friends bday! I wasn t sure if I d like it because it was more fancy than I m used to BUT it was amazing. From The hosts to the servers and bartenders, this place is welcoming and very friendly. The crowd was also very awesome! It was a Friday so they played old school playback songs from 90s to early 2000s. Also, I didn t get his name but the doorman was super awesome and waited with me for my Uber because I ve been harassed/attacked downtown before and he literally waited and made sure it was the right driver and walked me to the Uber. First class service food and drinks are good. Atmosphere good. I would go back again and would recommend to friends and family!!!!

Tell me why we had made a 20 person reservation for a bachelorette and when we arrived we were told that the reso didn t include a table and we could stand at the bar LOL Place screams prestigious. There is no reason why people in their 40s should be doing this much.

Best Beef Carpaccio I have ever had.

We went here for my birthday a couple things. I understand it was busy and this put a lot of stress on the employees but this place could use better organizing. 1. it was really hard to communicate to our server as she d have to be doing other tasks most of the time. So needing something simple would even take super long. 2. it was not at all a comfortable experience for my group of 8, we sat at the lower seats. It was just so tight at a table, with tables pushing against us, just too crowded. It was a struggle to get out of my seat as there was another table group right behind me. So this did not provide for a comfortable atmosphere. 3. they gave us a card for my birthday and a free dessert card which was nice. But realized I was not getting a free dessert on my birthday, nor could I use the free dessert card. The birthday dessert would have to be used at a future visit So after 20 minutes of my friend sorting this issue out with our server they somehow arranged a birthday dessert. 4. food was a 3/5, overpriced and some small portions for a main, most food lacked flavour, and food with flavour like the short rib gnocchi just had a pure tomato sauce taste. I was not satisfied for this restaurant as a spot for my birthday dinner.

To be honest, the food lacked flavour for my preference however, our whole experience was excellent because of our amazing server Lexy. She made amazing recommendations, she was very personable and was extremely attentive. Ask to be served by Lexy next time you re in, even if the food isn t good the atmosphere and her service made up for lack of flavour. I had ordered the sablefish and it was very fishy, not fresh, though it had a very crispy skin it was hard to finish due to lack of flavour & fishy odour. I had to put my partners gravy from the steak to try but you can t mask not-so fresh fish. Truffle fries were the only flavourful thing we ordered amongst the many dishes we tried. Would come again for drinks but not food.

Wow, this place is getting all the hype and I really don t understand why. If you like being treated poorly as a customer and jammed in like a sardine, this may be your place. To shed about our experience, we had booked for a large party (which I was a guest, not the person who booked), we arrived and were welcomed in by literally the only two employees that were friendly (the bouncer and the front door staff member). Once we got in, the place was so full of tables it was hard to move and felt very uncomfortable to just be there - there was absolutely no space for anyone walking in. When I asked a server if there was an area that we should be, or that people normally just stand and hang out, she snarkily said ugh, there s a cost check over there, and, stand by like, the bar I guess , and turned around so quickly it made it feel like I caused her great inconvenience. We looked over to try to shuffle our way to the bar, but the bar was full of the servers getting their orders for the people seated - most of which giving us not the kindest of looks, and there were tables so close to the far end we would have practically been sitting on people. This definitely wasn t an option for a group of 7+. As we were waiting for the text of our party to arrive, I m assuming he was the manager kept coming over to get us to purchase bottle service for a minimum of $300 (of which the alcohol was not worth, and service had already proven not to be worth) and was clear that the size of table was dependant on amount of bottles bought, not party size. So as we awkwardly stood there, being rudely looked at by staff, and feeling incredibly in the way in the only open portion of the whole establishment the rest of our party arrived - which we found out we had a table reserved, as noted on the multiple email confirmations. There were multiple tables open, but they refused to acknowledge their own reservations and wouldn t give us ANY table without purchasing bottle service. There was only one staff member trying to help us figure it out and went to get a manager to help her, who refused to come over - said there was nothing they could do, and told her to push bottle service again We didn t even get a chance to have food or drinks, so can t rate on that, but don t recommend, won t come again, and will openly let others know about the terrible service and how they treated our group celebrating a birthday.

We went for good food and live music. Sorely disappointed on both fronts. Hard to explain this place. The vibe is so mixed up. 1980s Vegas, meets tacky birthday signs, meets thumping base all night (your seat and head literally vibrate) but no rhythm or actual music. As for the food, when you are paying these prices you expect quality to match. We started with vol eu vents as an appy. To our surprise the mains came first, and within 10 minutes of ordering, suggesting much of the dish was pre prepared. The 10 ounce ribeye came pre cut into about 12 very thin slices. I ve never had someone cut up a quality steak at any restaurant, let alone one going for high end. All the juice and flavour had bled out well before the steak reached the table. It sat on some bland mashed potatoes, with no other accompanying veg. On a large white plate, it was a sad sight. When the appetizer did hit the table it was extremely salty. For drinks, they didn t have one of the three reserve wines. When your list is so short, there really shouldn t be any excuses for not having one. The cocktails were also not good. A watery martini was ok, drinkable at least. The old fashioned was not drinkable. Never have I ever left an old fashioned untouched until last night. The combination of maple and bacon is perhaps what made it so funky, but it didn t not taste of bourbon, but just very artificial in flavour. Our server seemed to be trying hard enough but was forgetful and not that attentive. Perhaps hard for her to hear or remember with the thumping base. Would not recommend.

Went last Friday for our Anniversary and we really enjoyed our dining experience. Our server Lexy was awesome! Just wished for more food and non alcoholic drink selection. I also missed the Lobster roll but overall love it. Thanks for the free dessert :)

This place is amazing. Great atmosphere and lovely service. Very unique drinks and amazing food. They recent added some new items to the menu and it s a must try. This is a higher end restaurant but not necessarily fine dinning. Wednesday has live music shows which sets the mood. It is on the pricier since as it s a higher end restaurant but it s not overly priced. 100% recommend. Lots of tables and space but make sure to reso a table before going. Quite a vibe! If youre looking for an upscale dining experience in downtown Calgary, this might be worth trying. With a friendly atmosphere, live music on some nights, and carefully presented menu items, its a good night out. Price-wise, its a good step above your average Keg-type menu, but a step below something like Major Tom. I thought the food was very good, if not quite exquisite, but the entire experience was quite positive.

This place is a joke..beautiful room..but their menu claims to be french and italian inspired..so lets address that.. they have 3 pastas theres your italian inspiration..they have appetizers labelled as entrees and side dishes labelled as trim..not sure where the chef received his french/italian training. Add onto this they have menu items repeated foie gras in two places..app their french is very limited. Should have listened to the 3.9 rating and saved myself some money...def wont be returning..had the tres leche for dessert it was bland and tastless..and for the life of me i couldnt figure out why pineapple

Went for dinner with the wife and we had a great time. When we walked in we were welcomed by a friendly host who asked us if we were out for a special occasion, what our seating preference was and as she seated us at our table she introduced us to our waitress for the evening. The waitress arrived with some amazing chips that were made in house along with a champagne taster and waters. The atmosphere was great, the lighting was on point and the mood was set with a live Jazz band. Our entrées were quick, delicious and worth every dime. The desert was the best part of the meal, The tiramisu and tres-leches were amazing. Throughout our dinner the waitress and manager checked in on the experience to ensure everything was ok and to see if we required anything. Overall experience was fantastic and we will definitely be back!!! Well done Mister M team!

We went to MisterM for the first time. We went Thursday night for burlesque. It was such a fun, classy and unique evening. Honestly the thing that blew me away the most was the service. We had a man named Hugo serve us and he was determined to make sure we had a Greta night right down to the food we chose. At one point I had let him know that the drink I ordered was not what I expected. He didnt think twice before suggesting another drink and taking the first time away and not charging me. He recommended incredible drinks and just the way he described the food and drinks showed pride. I honestly loved his passion, kindness and professionalism. The evening was so great and we would definitely come again.

Didn t have any food so cannot offer anything there. The drinks were good, but a bit inconsistent when we ordered the same ones. The atmosphere is sophisticated and beautiful. Loved the music and the fact that everyone had a place to sit while dancing.

We recently had an absolutely fantastic time at Mister M restaurant! Our celebratory dinner with my work team mates couldnt have been better. Cobey provided top-notch service, and the food was simply divine. The cocktail garden was a delightful touch, and the steaks were so tender they practically melted in our mouths. What really made the evening special was the impeccable ambiance, complete with a live saxophone player. Katelyn went above and beyond to ensure our team felt truly celebrated for reaching our milestone. A huge shout out to owner Rony, whose dedication to providing the best service possible truly shines through. Mister M is definitely a must-visit spot in Calgarys scene! Highly recommended for any special events and celebration.

So I didnt have a great experience when I went the first time. The service was slow, they brought out the appies and mains together, forgot drinks...so I let them know and they invited me to try again. Went tonight and it was night and day different. The food was so so good. Every dish was awesome and the service was on point. They came to check on us numerous times, gave great suggestions and we had an amazing time. Highly recommend it.

As soon as we walked in we were in a state of WOW. We were a little early for our 5:00pm but Kaitlyn did not mind. She welcomed us with a bright smile and quickly showed us to our table. Kaitlyn took time to explain the menu and gave her recommendations for drinks, appetizers and entrees. We decided to try 3 of her recommendations: Appetizer: Vol Au Vent- three petite portions of puff pastry, chicken, mushrooms and cream sauce. Delicate and extremely delicious. Entree 1 Ricotta Gnocchi with short rib ragout OMG this dish was amazing. Soft pillows of gnocci with melt in your mouth short rib ragout. This dish was rich in flavour I purposely left some to enjoy tomorrow Entree 2 Chicken Tortellini. Pasta made in house and stuffed with chicken served in a cream parmesan sauce. Delightful little packages of heavenly goodness. This dish could make anyone recreate the famous scene from When Harry Met Sally... I will have what shes having. IYKYK No take home container needed. Dessert Chocolate Bavaoris. Chocolate Mousse, crushed oreo, crystallized pecans and bourbon Carmel. Who doesnt like chocolate and oreos? This dessert will turn any frown upside down. It was light and smooth. The perfect end to a very excellent meal. Chef AJ came out to our table and introduced himself. This was appreciated as it is always nice to meet the creative mind behind the menus. If you are looking for a Fine Dining experience that is still warm and welcoming give Mister M try. You will not be disappointed.

Two friends and I went to Mister Ms for dinner and dancing. It was our first time and the manager Caitlyn was amazing and let us keep our table all night, the service was incredible, (Yeli is an amazing waitress!) The atmosphere is great, and the music from DJ Gummi was top notch! Ill definitely be back to dance the night away! If I could change one thing, it would be the artificial smoke and light snow, it was hard on the eyes and throat. But thats minor! Thanks again for everything Caitlyn, you and your incredible team made our night one to remember Will definitely book my bday celebration with you guys!!

Second time here. Turned into a club at 10pm. Food lacked flavor for my palette. Ambience was nice. I had the Duck. Kid-friendliness: No kids.

Celebrated my 40th birthday there on January 19th, 2024. Our serve Giovanna was amazing. She catered to our ever need and went above and beyond what I expected. The food was spectacular!! The atmosphere is beautiful and it s always a pleasure going to a supper club that has an older crowd. Carmen made sure we had everything we needed and truly made the night special. I would definitely highly recommend.

In short words let the pictures speak for themselves but Ill personally be returning to this fine place a few more times with friends and family. Such a great place to celebrate a 18 and up environment, while enjoying some of the best food in Calgary at the same time. Total bonus they offer Happy hour from 4 till 6, Jazz Wednesday nights 7 pm , and Burlesque shows after dinner Thursday , and Friday and Saturday they do DJs with music from the 90s /2000 and 80s . If this doesnt convince you, then just come in for one of many fine cocktails and experience theyre exceptional hospitality and food.

Tried to go and the bouncer told us we couldnt go in because we were wearing hats and one of us had AF1s on and he said sneakers arent allowed. Then another man walked up in a fedora and basketball shoes and he told them to pretend to leave so we would. We walk half a block away and watched him let the fedora and basketball shoes in right after. Clearly the rules only apply if you dont LOOK rich . Dont recommend.

This venue continues to evolve. I am updating my review. First of all, Kaitlin takes extra care of ypu. There could be twenty full tables and she finds a way to make you feel like her only one. Duck was out of this world. The cocktails are yum! Thanks Hugo!

The staff only seem to care about your experience if you are buying bottles or spending a lot on food. After paying 20$ cover charge we were kicked out very quickly for putting a jacket on an empty but apparently already taken seat where the person who s seat it apparently was that they weren t using insisted we get kicked out over it which the staff obliged. Would not recommend if looking for a bar to get casual drinks at.

I cant begin to describe this amazing spot. Honestly the BEST new restaurant this city has by a mile. From the second you walk in the door you are greeted by professional staff, dressed to impress, you come in the door and your jaw drops in the detail the owner has taken to wow their guests. I had the blessing to have been served by one of their head managers Hugo, was very well informed with every aspect to his job(being a chef for 25 years it was a blessing to have a front of house member that knew everything one could ask him). Once sitting, Hugo went over our drink menu with us one by one, and explained their drink menu was made by their award winning bartender. We suggested what we like and was able to point us to their suggestions and all I can say is wow they knocked it out of the park with the flaming cocktails, We had the Kilauea rum drinks it had toasted coconut and cinnamon syrup, pineapple,lime and flaming sugar cube. Hugo then brought our small bites which were homemade crisps and were just right. As Hugo was going over the amazing new menu the chef AJ brought out the evenings amuse bouche. Simple one bite palet cleanse to start off our meal, it was house made phylo cup filled with house made pico da Gallo, topped with a prawn and guacamole cremé. Just the right mix of sweet, creamy and acidic. Hugo went over the menu with us and we decided on the charcuterie bird cage to start. And all I can say is WOW this blew my mind it had, Salami, gherkins, aged cheddar, cranberries, pickles red peppers, prosciutto, Brie, walnuts, tomatoes, foie gras, raspberry preserves, ricotta honey beer buns and warm bread. All of it was spot on and paired perfect, this could feed 4 people. Next for our mains we had the 12oz ribeye, red wine au jus, rock salt. Sides confit mashed potatoes, mixed garden vegetable Chicken tortellini, sundried tomatoes, house made chicken stuffed tortellini, Parmesan cream. I ended up dipping my steak in the cream sauce from the tortellini cause it was next level. And for dessert we decided on Tres lechi, cream, charbroiled pineapple Strawberry cheesecake mousse, strawberry gastric. Both were next level and the cheesake was so light and not the dense super filling normal by style. Overall this restraunt absolutely blew my mind and like I said above being a chef for 25 years and seeing the sub par food coming from this city it was refreshing to see someone bring Calgary to the table FINALLY. If you have the ability to get downtown Calgary do not for a second pass this place up, the atmosphere, the staff, the chef AJ and his team have done and unreal job, and the plateware is the tipping point to it all and made everything that much more exciting and another talking point at the table. Well done, well done. I will be coming back for years to come.

Booked Mister M for my birthday dinner, which was also the new year s event. Had a negative experience with some redeeming factors. When I booked through OpenTable, I specifically requested the normal menu (which was an option when reserving). When we arrived, we were informed that the normal menu was not available, and that the restaurant emailed earlier to inform us (did not see as went to junk mail). However, they could have called me as I provided my phone number with OpenTable and I did not respond to the email, which specifically requested a CC Authorization form to be book in. Not ideal, but we decided to stay for the new year s special menu anyway. Unfortunately, the second course was raw meat only. The manager stated they are making no substitutions, and he made no effort to improve our experience. This is a huge oversight particularly for those who are pregnant or do not eat meat. The salads were soggy. My husband s dessert was stale and the base was very hard (despite my exact same dessert being fine). My husband s wine glass was also noticeably dirty. We were charged over $15 for still water. They were aware it was my birthday but there was no special item or writing on the desert (which is fine, but we did pay a lot to be there and indicated it was a birthday meal). We were also seated in a very small table next to the walkway to the washroom. While that may sound overly picky, this was a premium-priced dining experience and I expected far better given the cost. As to redeeming factors: the steak was good, large, and cooked properly as ordered. The waitress and hostess were both very nice. The old-fashioned was made with smoke and was very good. Atmosphere was fun. Overall, there are many far better options in Calgary at this price point.

The place is beautiful, very classy and elegant perfect spot to socialize with your friends. The food was so delicious and the stuff is amazing. Very informative. However, the music is not the best. I think this is where Mr. M is lacking. I ve heard many people complaining about the music when I was there on Saturday And I believe once the music is changed to a mixture on a Saturday night the place will get a little bit more busy which is good for the business. I m originally from Toronto and we have a nightclub in Oakville called dirty martini, the DJ posts, the eclipse of videos , the crowd is mature, professional people, and he plays excellent music the food there is excellent as well. I would love to see something like that in Calgary as most of the night cops here are for the younger generation. However, Mr. Emma would ve been a perfect spot for the theory plus Music should be Old school, some R&B, some reggae, some Afrobeats even some Latino if you try that on a Saturday night, I guarantee you once you start promoting you will have a lineup outside other than that it s an excellent place

The server did not inform that the tip auto 20%.. and then handed debit machine with the the tip screen. I could have paid twice 20% unless I caught it. Spoiled the night.

Absolutely everything has perfect attention to detail; from customer service to food and presentation. A must try for unique cocktails, signature desserts, and exceptional dinner options. Great vibes! Place is very upscale. Our server Martha was super sweet and attentive. The cocktails were delicious and were on par with the price of other lounges. The owner was going around talking to everyone. Dj Amante started his 90s and 2000s music from 10pm. it was a great time!

really wanted to love this place with all the hype it s gotten and how pretty it is, but it was a huge miss. when we called to reserve the person on the other line was so confusing to understand, when we arrived it took 3 staff to figure out our reservation at the door, after being sat at our table it took over 15 minutes for a server to come, and one minute after she took our orders and menus another server came over and introduced herself as our server. it s hard to tell the servers apart from other guests as they re all wearing the same aritzia dress that half the city owns, the tables are way too close together, the servers at the tables next to us were practically touching us while helping the people next to us, the food was mediocre for the price, the drinks were lack lustre, the burrata salad (which was my main reason for going) was sub par, and for $21, a disappointment. the music was way too loud, we were yelling at each other across a 2 foot table to be able to hear one another, and our server was busy with bottle service for people s bdays the entire night. very disorganized from start to finish, definitely a let down.

Initially a bit intimidated by the very exhaustive dress code but had an excellent evening out at Mister M. The service was phenomenal- Cass was our server and she was attentive, helpful and even corrected a mistaken drink order. The food was delicious (mushroom salad, halloumi, sweet potato pasta and fettuccini), portions generous and the chocolate cake was decadent (and huge!) The bartenders even gave us a parting shot while we waited for our Uber. Highly recommend and will most definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Lots of veg options and willing to alter to make dishes vegetarian

Drinks and food were meh. The tartare was awful. Definitely a miss for me.

Not super impressed with this place. I had the two drinks and the salmon. My first drink was a half sweet mint julep and it was sickly sweet. Second drink was a quarter sweet old fashioned which was okay. The crispy cheese on top of the old fashioned was weird. Service was off too. It took a while for our drinks to arrive, some were forgotten. They presented us with an amuse bouche (fried goat cheese balls) but only 6 for our table of 8. The other two got theirs about 15 mins later. My salmon was not great. The salmon itself was overcooked and the risotto was bland undercooked rice barely saved by added salt and pepper. The broccolini was tasty though. Now the dress code. We had several in our group stressed about their strict dress code, but really they seemed to let everyone in. Lots of folks in runners and tank tops. Either have a dress code or dont. Finally we were sat at a table that had proper chair on one side and couch on the other. It was horrible for those of us on the couch side. If I sat all the way back, my feet dangled (Im 58). The couch level was a good 6 lower, so was odd across the table. And nearly impossible to get in and out of without hopping over the back. Highly recommend any table without a couch. On a positive note, the folks who ate the sweet potato pasta seemed to really enjoy it as well as the kilauea cocktail. Dietary restrictions: Several options for vegan gluten free folks

Went to Mr. M a couple of days ago with some friends. It was an evening of jazz music. It was comfortable and interesting to be here. The food was delicious and served beautifully too. A wide variety of cocktails and tasty local beer. The staff is very polite and attentive starting from the entrance to the restaurant. Definitely recommend:)

We went about a week ago and had a great experience. The food was very good, the atmosphere was great and the service was excellent! We really enjoyed the cocktail cart that came around to create drink at your table.

Mister M I would go above and beyond to recommend to anyone. I went with two of my other friends during their happy hour. We reached at 5:30PM and happy hour was till 6PM. Drinks were half price so we ordered all we thought we can order for the evening LOL and service was really quick. We ordered Woodford Reserve Bourbon on the rocks (just one king size ice cube with M printed on it - it was really cool). For the starters we ordered Chicken Karaage (good one), Parmesan Fries (Average) and Charred Brocolini (Average). Main attention of Mister M were the servers. From enering in the restaurant, to your table server and service aling with Hospitality Manager Hugo Leblanc everyone was outstanding in the profession. I would recommend and always go back because of each and everyones willingness to make our dining experience better. The crowd started to come in and evening turned out to be busy but everyone as per their role were giving attention to us. Especially our server (sorry could not take her name) and Mr Hugo Leblanc. We had mentioned request that we were celebrating one of our friend birthday. Mr Hugo personally came to address this request and gave us champagne on the house. (Pic attached). There was another guest bday and we received cake (They serve it as Desert Platter- we took Champagne Cheesecake - MUST HAVE) on the house (another reason why these people were awesome). Over all I would like to give them more than 5 ratings. Looking forward to go back again in future. Cheerz folks and keep up your passion of excellent service every day when you are at Mister M. Dietary restrictions: They had Vegan, Gluten free all options secured. Before asking for what we want to have, they always ask if there is any dietary restrictions.

It was my first time at Mister M and I ll say that the overall ambiance is nice, It s a gorgeous space! After sitting down it took forever for our waitress to come see us and mind you it didn t seem that busy. Our drinks were made and sitting at the bar and the ice basically melted in them before they came to us. It took forever to get our starters, our main and the dessert. Our waitress would be at the bar but not come to see us when the other staff brought the food or when we were done eating. She also didn t ask how I wanted my ribeye and it came out over cooked. We ordered the Ribeye and the Half Jerk Chicken with creamy mashed potatoes. The chicken is very salty so be mindful. It also turns into a lounge later in the night and they ll subtly tell you it s time to leave and start moving chairs and tables around you lol

Had the most amazing time there. Atmosphere A1, fabulous most amazing stuff, food was excellent BUT the dessert was just spectacular and out of this world. Loved the presentation on dessert menus. Such a fabulous place. Would DEFINITELY go back and recommend.

A sophisticated place with a great vibe and one of the best service levels in Calgary. Menu pretty much covers all the levels of cravings, but would love to see some more salads. Cass, I guess that was our waitresss name, did a fantastic job making sure both of us were taken care of. Burrata salad was simply the best I have tried (fine, second place after the one Ive had in Italy). Rose wine selection might be a bit expanded, but weve enjoyed our Muga. Planned to stay just for a quick drinks and ended up spending a couple of hours. Will definitely be back for their live music, as weve missed it.

The food was great, we had the chicken Karaage, NY striploin, Cesar salad and mashed potatoes). We couldn t decide on which dessert and they brought out a case of dessert options and that won us over. We had the ultimate chocolate utopia cake and while it wasn t too sweet it was rich and nice. The ambiance is nice especially for a date night and the service was outstanding. We ll def be back.

This place was fantastic! We went on a Friday night and they had a live saxaphone player. The music was amazing (though it did get loud later at night, but we didnt mind at all) the DJ played awesome throwback tunes that kept us vibing all night. The food was fantastic and so were the drinks! I hope this place lasts! We got the dessert board at the end and it was so good!

Fantastic experience here.. We had the Jerk Chicken and fettuccine truffle dishes; both were amazing and the drinks were awesome, too!! Portion sizes were massive, something most restaurants we feel are lacking these days. Loved the jazz and will definitely be back to check out what the other nights have to offer!!

Had to come back to try their new menu items and catch some free jazz on Wednesday. Everything was delicious, beautiful ambiance and excellent service. Appreciated the quality and options. - Carpaccio was good - Jazz band was great Cons: - Service was slow and inexperienced despite not being busy and with multiple FOH staff on the floor - Broccolini dish came out cold twice, eventually gave up - Had to wave someone down for steak knives after sirloin was delivered - Had to wave someone down for spoon after creamy potatoes were delivered - When broccolini was brought to server attention no apologies, just skepticism - Asked 3 separate times then eventually had to get manager attention to have extremely wobbly table fixed (drinks were spilling all over table) Overall - for prices being charged, service and food quality was lacking. Would come back here for cocktails before or after somewhere else.

Overpriced and underwhelming are the two words I use to discribe this place. Spent over 100 dollars for a dinner for two and the food was honestly worst than Earls. No flavor, mostly burnt or overcooked. Drinks tasted basic and are about 16 bucks, honestly for a new restaurant its really disappointing.

This place is new and has a lot of promise! The food is good the service we got was Outstanding! The choice of live music leaves a LOT to be desired. They had a really good thing going until they brought on this absolutely dreadful sax player that murdered the vibe with intent! Service was ABSOLUTLEY exceptional. Starting from when we were greeted until we paid. Top notch. Everything else was ok. We tried the lobster roll, ahi tuna tartare,sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and a side of vegetables. I think the hype of this place is bigger then what is offered. Prices are what you expect for downtown and an upscale-ish place.

Came here for drinks only, didn t have any one come to our table until 20 mins after seated. Had to stop someone to request for our server, drinks took way too long to come out. Overcharged for drinks we didn t order as well as charged for drinks made incorrectly, took another half an hour for manager to come by. In addition to all this had a bounce back problem with manager to removing these charges and refunding. Watch you bill! Will not be back for any special occasion night out here.

First time checking this place out after seeing multiple ads. Definitely enjoyed the whole vibe. Staff was super friendly and our server, Tye recommended some awesome dishes.

This place has great food and beautiful atmosphere. The beef carpaccio was awesome - best in the city. The jerk chicken which is cooked by a Jamaican chef was so exceptional. The only miss was the loud live jazz music which overpowered the room which was a nice touch and thoughtful but didn t execute well. The manager was awesome and turned off the speaker behind us so we could talk. I would come back here again. A must try in Calgary!

Had the most amazing dining experience at Mr. M! The service provided Tye was fantastic from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious and presented so well. The atmosphere in Mr. M is fantastic and did not disappoint! 5 stars for sure.

I tried this place for the first time and was pleased with my experience. The ambiance and decore are beautiful and upscale. Service was excellent and highly attentive. Food was quickly brought out and was tasty and flavour. I was very impressed with the presentation and overall doing experience provided here. My only complaint was the food itself was tasty but not the highest quality I expected for the vibe presented. That said it s still great and worth visiting.

I have to say, I wasnt prepared for the evening spent at Mister M. From the time we stepped in, the vibe was something else! The staff, service, entertainers/ dancers, the way the dessert was displayed, everything was simply amazing. The food and drinks came to our table quickly. Then the music started and the whole place transformed! It is nice that there is a 25+ venue where people actually dress up and behave well. My friends and I had a great time and will DEFINITELY be coming back!

Made a reservation for a birthday party, 2 days prior, with confirmation notifications coming in the day before. Someone call be at 3 on Friday to tell me that OpenTable had messed up and they overbooked and had to cancel. I ll give it to her she tried to get me in Friday or Sunday be it that doesn t really help when everyone is coming out Saturday I m very disappointed being that this place is where people are talking about going and will not be booking this restaurant or recommending it again!

Service and quality are pretty poor for the prices.

I had VIP tickets so I took some 5 friends. I dont have a clue what was was VIP about this event. No one greeted us. No table for us. Place was busy (we arrived at 10 as per the ticket.) I asked a server and she looked confused about VIP tickets. I ended up looking quite silly as there was NOTHING VIP about this experience. Total bummer because I took some men that are business owners who enjoy going out to dance and spending $$$. Two of these people work in hospitably and I can guarantee they wont recommend to out of town people, simply by the way we were treated. The DJ seemed quite good but we ended up leaving. The server kept telling us to MOVE however, if we had a table, she wouldnt have to shout at us to move. Very unwelcoming. I run social groups in the city but sure wont recommend we go and dance there. Very disappointing. We went to Backlot where we were welcomed.

Flavourful!!! Atmosphere was really nice. If I had to add any critique: Steak tartare had too much mustard tho and tasted a little off. Lobster Mac and cheese noodles wasn t as al dente enough for my preference but tasted good. Chocolate cake wasn t super chocolatey as I had hoped and it was dry but everything else was great!!

Kaitlyn served us tonight and shes a STAR! She literally turned a low key celebration into such a memorable night! She knew everything about the food and drinks and she paired everything perfectly!!! She even brought over a cake and a little sign to embarrass my friend just the right amount. We will be coming back just for her!!!

Food and drinks here were amazing! You can really tell the drinks are well thought out, and the drink cart that comes around is a great touch! Loved the atmosphere and the staff were wondeful (Especially our waitress Kaitlyn). Would definitely recommend coming here for a night out.

Hugo is a great server. Very kind and gave great suggestions. Really knows how to do his job. I never wrote reviews but Hugo is just that good :)

You can t get a table after 10 unless you are getting bottle service, sometimes there is a dance floor, sometimes not. Too many rules. They won t be open long.

The food was not very tasty despite the reviews. Theyre going for a high-end feel, but thats really not what comes across. Dinnerware didnt match, and the plates looked so busy. Fabric on the seats was tearing, and overall , nothing to make me want to go back. The staff were great!

Don t go here or give them your business if you re a person of color or against discrimination. Go somewhere where you are valued and respected and treated equal not where the staff are raging racists

The ambiance of the decor is extremely beautiful! I love it ! The service was great- they made recommendations, were attentive, & we never went without water after our drinks. The food was delicious in both taste & presentation! I would recommend as it is close to the Core- after a little shopping just stop by for a meal & drinks ! Parking: Holt Renfrew has cheap parking after 3 pm & on weekends

This place had big hype. We went there nothing was special about the menu been there done that I ordered the Salmon it came out dry sent it back and they remade it. Also sent back the steak as it was over done. When I got the salmon it was bland and so was the mango salsa. This place is not wotlrth the hype.

Ordered the steak. Waitress didn t even ask how I wanted it. Overall for the price wasn t worth it had better steaks.

The place has a weird vibe. If you dont have a reservation be prepared to stand by the bar. The bartender handed over a credit card machine before making our drinks.

Really great place with a beautiful interior and upscale ambiance. The Happy Hour cocktails are 1/2 price and really delicious! Very creative and tasty! Didnt get a chance to eat there but the menu looks really good. Our bartender was really sweet and attentive. Id go back here!

This place is one of the most popular in Calgary. Book in advance, especially for evening music events! A dress code is a must. Enjoy authentic cocktails and a lively party atmosphere!

The restaurant is very clean and chic. The service was excellent! Servers were very friendly and efficient. The margaritas were delicious. Including the non alcoholic tiki punch! Salmon entree was delicious, served with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The fish was cooked to perfection. Super yummy! Place is very clean and lovely ambience. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a nice place to go out for dinner.

Food was great but the service was terrible. We had bottle service and had to wait consistently for our server to come around to open it. We ordered a ton of food (which tasted great) but when we asked for side plates the manager said no and asked me where I would expect him to put them. Would not return.

My sisters & I visited this place for the first time last night. Beautiful place, we all had such a great time at the 90s to 2000s r&b party. We plan to return for another memorable evening. Thank you.

The girl that served us was kind off rude, I took the truffle linguini I believe, I couldn t even taste a pinch of truffle. My girlfriends took the cesar salad and cheeseburger, they says that it was good, the drink was good as well. It was at dinner time and the music was way too loud we was 7 and couldn t hear the person at the end of the table I wish the music was a little lower and the server was nicer

This place is overhyped. They let the ladies in wearing sneakers but when it came to men, they didn t let them go.
