This place need to make a decide on what tipe of dinning experience they want to offer. They have some reasonable priced options like the burger but they also have some really high priced items. Its okay to have higher prices but I expect a higher class experience. Our server was disorganized and she had way too many tables to manage. I think there was an event going on and that ment they were understaffed in the main restaurant. I personally did enjoy my lamb but everyone else at the table thought there food wasnt that great. Vegetarian options: Squash ravioli was the only one I saw, looked good havent tried it.

I had truffle fries with parmesan, they were okay. The atmosphere sucked for us, they were messing with the lights and it was either dark or very bright all of a sudden. The old fashioned being made was the only really good part.

The food is unfamiliar and even reading the description is difficult. But it was very tasty

Wonderful experience for my wife and I. I would suggest this to any couple looking to get out for a quiet evening. Never disappointed here.

Prices are a bit high, but the food is outstanding! Right in downtown Calgary next to the Calgary tower. Ive loved everything Ive eaten here!

Took us 10 minutes to get some stuff attention. No host even though we booked a table in advance. Drinks were fine and the atmosphere.

This place is hit or miss in terms of customer service. I am a regular here and recognized everytime I come. There has only been 2 outstanding servers here who were both male and I cannot remember their names. Honestly and sadly, I have noticed the customer service in Calgary is not so great towards visible minorities. I notice they treat me differently if I come by myself vs with a white friend . This is really sad. I am treated better even if it is not that great when I ve come in with a white male specifically. When I have come in by myself no one acknowledges me or greets me. The food is good so if you really want it then call and get takeout or order to your room if you re staying in the hotel, as the actual service is hit or miss, most of the time being miss.

We hosted a private dinner for our elite clients and had the back dining room booked out. Most of the clients were from Edmonton and with the Oilers game (playoffs) booked at the same time as dinner, the venue was mindful enough to have a TV set up in the room. We were served by the most thoughtful and hard working person I ve ever come access. Calliope I can t thank you enough. You re a master of your trade and an amazing human being. Thank the.

Be hungry. I had a three egg omelet with toast and home fried potatoes. One in our party had bread pudding french toast with berries. Im having that next time someone had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Good brunch. Food : 5/5

The food is mediocre, but good for a quick snack. The drinks/old fashions is where ONE18 shines. Service is on point, knowledgeable staff that can provide good recommendations. Huge selection of customizable drinks that are prepared in front of you. ONE18 has a cozy lounge vibe that s super chill, perfect for an after work drink with friends to relax.

Well, the food and the service are good, but the atmosphere and the seatings are crowded, and you feel like you are sitting in the house of commons.

Apparently they dont serve brunch anymore and dont care enough to post that anywhere. Huge disappointment for Mothers Day brunch. Food was bad; super spicy where it shouldnt be and soggy disgusting fries. Service was also terrible; messed up orders and no quality checks to see how everything was going. Walked in here today for with a reservation for a party of 3 and wondered why it was so dead. Now we know why. Will never return.

This place is great if youre a lover of old fashioneds. Youre able to customize your drink (you pick your smoke, bitters, syrup, and alcohol) for a very unique experience. I was here about a year ago and just came back and the service was great both times. Unfortunately I cant recall our servers name this time (she had shorter, curled hair), but she was fantastic and even offered us a 10% off coupon when we asked about purchasing a board to make our own smoked old fashioned at home. The garlic bread is amazing. Very cool, trendy, hip place inside Marriott Downtown Calgary. Service is good.

A fabulous place to hold a meeting! Service was phenomenal, food and drinks were great, and the environment was ideal for a meeting - private, spacious, and very comfortable.

You cannot go wrong with this place. I liked the simplicity of the menu. Im not a person who enjoys menus with multiple pages. It makes me feel they dont want to concentrate on a few dishes and hit them outside of the park. The atmosphere was inviting, clean, organized and nice for the family and I. The server was friendly and professional. Our food was phenomenal. Everyone was really happy. Presentation and portions was amazing. Really felt like a treat! Definitely recommend.

Fantastic food and service! Not to mention draaanks - we loved the Braditude and the whiskey barrel rollout of bitters, smokes, and flavors. Wowza!

Booked the dinner and a skate option on Sunday night. The service was outstanding and our our meal was great. The little rink on the rooftop was a nice romantic ending to our night.

Firstly, Anna and her team for all of their help coming up with the menu for food and drinks. And everyone had a lovely time - the smoked drinks were a hit, and the appetizers were yummy. The service was excellent, and having a nice big fireplace in the center of the room I would recommend this location as a great space for people to meet and visit.

You walk in the door and get punched in the face by the smoke - in the best way possible. The atmosphere here is really nice and their 24 karat line of drinks is awesome. Really nice place to sit down and have a couple old fashioneds.

One18 hosted our business dinner and it was fantastic! Great staff, amazing food that also considered dietary restrictions, and a comfortable, pleasing space/ambiance. Highly recommend the private dining area!

The wait staff was rude and lazy. We had a table for 9 and everyone felt the waiter was rude. Drinks took 20 minutes to come out and the food was average at best. The only positive was their table side presentation of their old fashion, which was again average.

Not a great experience. I had a piri piri chicken sandwich with poutine on the side. Poutine basically was onion soup with fries in it with no cheese. We had a group of 8 that at the reservation noted one bill. Fine. We asked to pay interact per person and initially our request was denied and wanted one person to pay the whole bill. After asking to see the manager, they relented and instead they broke up the bill to each individual person and paid that way.... Long story short - Dont order a poutine on the side and dont go there in a group of more than 2.

I was pleasantly surprised by their impressive collection of whiskeys. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff was knowledgeable about their extensive whiskey selection. The food was also delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the steak, which was cooked to perfection. The only reason Im not giving it 4 stars is because the service was a bit slow and it took longer than expected to receive our food. However, the quality of the whiskey and the food made up for the wait. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great selection of whiskey and a tasty meal.

It was my sisters birthday so we decided to stop by for a drink and dinner. Brad was phenomenal and recommended the feature burger, the bourbon for my drink, and dessert. I cant wait to come back. Service was great and the food was delicious.

Went for brunch with a friend on the weekend and really enjoyed our experience. I got the avocado toast and it tasted amazing. I really liked that our server didn t make me feel like I was being rushed to finish my meal. I d love to go back and try out some different things on their brunch menu!

Smoked Manhattans are a big deal here and they are delicious. The menu is coma inducing with the lightest item on it being polenta. I know! Right?

This is a cool place to go for the experience. You choose your smoke flavour (or go with recommended) and they burn the wood in front of you to flavour the glass and then mix your drink. Not cheap but a very decadent feeling to the process. All the drinks were carefully crafted and delicious. Food looked good but wed already eaten.

Exceptional

One of my favourite places to go, especially as a whisky lover. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced for the quality. Really great cocktails and whisky flights to try. The lamb and pork belly are especially delicious!

Stopped by to build our own old fashioned! Did not disappoint. Totally worth a try

The Bison Burnt Ends were a small portion, but they were big on flavour covered in a delicious barbeque sauce (I m guessing that was made in house) and was complemented with the bitter taste of the accompanying peppers. Served with a side of toasted cornbread, the flavour was a mix of sweet and savoury. The Kentucky fried mushrooms were very crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. They tasted pretty good and were much better than Kentucky fried chicken from KFC (and healthier)!

Very friendly staff and great appetizers

My main experience with this hotel lounge is their breakfast menu, specifically The Big Canadian Breakfast, which did not disappoint. A full & hearty hot breakfast is a make or break deal for me when it comes to hotel stays and I was deeply impressed with the offerings here as a guest at the Downtown Calgary Marriott. I did have a Draught beer one afternoon as well which was tasty & good. Its a great convenience for hotel guests to be able to charge the tab to ones hotel room. The wait staff was attentive and polite, very good service.

Food was good, server was really nice and attentive, ambience could have been nicer but it was very noisy due to an event happening and a lot of running around by the staff. I recommend serving the Northern Lights cocktail with a straw to avoid smelling the raw eggs while drinking.

Best old fashion of all time

If youre looking for a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere with a touch of class, this place has got you covered. The menu at ONE18 EMPIRE is a delightful mix of classic comfort dishes with a modern twist.

Came here waited forever while a server ignored us. We asked if we need to wait to be seated and she said I don t know we are not seating over there and we are at capacity over here when we clearly saw open seats. Obviously doesn t want the business. Was very short and not friendly at all!

Horrible food

Worst burger I have ever had. It was extremely overcooked, to the point that it was hard and crispy, the bun was so stale and toasted, it actually hurt to eat. On top of the terrible cooking method, all it had on it was the smallest amount of solid melted cheese (burger was cold, btw) and a single piece of wilted lettuce, absolutely not a drop of any sauce on it. Did I mention it was also extremely small? Like mcdonalds regular hamburger small. Quantity or quality, pick one ONE18, because having neither is unacceptable. Pictures of it after taking it home and trying to salvage with sauce and realizing there is no saving it.

One Empire has some mind boggling cocktails. Their Entree s and Main course are pretty good. Overall an amazing ambience, food and service.

The wings were really yummy with a nice dip that bc aww with it. I usually order salt and pepper cause I don t like saucy wings but they didn t have salt and pepper so got the ones they had and was pleasantly surprised. Also got the truffle fries which was a big portion and also came with a dip but didn t love the dip. And got a soft pretzel as well which was a bit on the smaller size but was nice and soft and delicious with a yummy dip. Parking: You can t park in front because it s loading zone so you will have to find further parking or walk

Been coming here since open. The food is fantastic.

A must if youre visiting Calgary

We arrived at what seemed to be a busy time on a late Sunday evening. What stood out was that Natalia was exceptional at attention to detail and showed composure in dealing with her coworkers in a busy atmosphere. Thank you again for the drink recommendations. We will be back again. To those who are visiting for the first time, I would recommend trying the forbidden fruit old fashioned.

Good Evening....this review is positive and different all at once. We are evacuating family from the Yellowknife wildfire. Landed in Calgarys with a lot on the mind. We visit this restaurant from the recommended staff in the hotel we are staying. For the 2 days being in the hotel and eating at One18 Empire. They have treated my family like gold. Giving us Peace,quiet during a stressful situations. The whole staff at One18 Empire Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. P.S..The Food is excellent!

Bit of an odd one. The place looked interesting, and I like a good Old Fashioned, so this seemed like a no brainer. I wasnt expecting it to be busy, being a Sunday evening, but I booked a table last minute anyway. On arrival, the restaurant was empty aside from two tables. However, I was told that as I had arrived 10 minutes after my booking (which was true, although 20:08 by my watch), they wouldnt be able to seat me for food. But I could have drinks. When I pointed out that almost every table in the restaurant was empty, the staff just shrugged and repeated that as we had arrived more than 5 minutes late, we couldnt have the reservation. So we left and went elsewhere. Very awkward and strange interaction. Therere loads of fantastic food and drink places in Calgary, so I wont give this one another go.

A very mediocre restaurant at best. The food was just okay (we had brisket eggs benny and brioche breakfast sandwhich). The drinks took forever and when we asked for the bill, they waitress wasnt able to split it. Pretty sure she was a brand new server. If youre at the hotel its attached to it might make it worth going for convenience, but there are many far superior options close by for brunch at a similar price point.

Home of the citys worst bartender. This place used to be good. Now its like the staff are actively trying to tank the business. For many years, they had one of the best burgers downtown. The current burger is terrible. Not even worth 1/3rd of the $23 they are asking for it. On my last visit, they served me a beer, and then ghosted me. They were not busy. Tried to get the bartenders attention multiple times, and even though he was a couple metres away, guy just ignored me. It became kind of a joke, sitting there, wondering how long it would take for the guy to ask if I wanted to order food or another drink. Asked for my bill multiple times, and was still ignored. Finally after over 45 minutes, I had to get up from the bar, and go to the bar, to demand my bill. Not going back.

Would not recommend for a large party booking. Booked a reservation for a bachelor party two months prior. Called a few hours before to confirm our partys reservation time on Saturday night only to find out we did not have a table booked. Management accommodated us. However did not inform us about a one bill policy or a $2500 table minimum. We asked to have our bill split individually so people can order rounds of drinks to their bill and not have one person stuck with a massive bill. Management refused to accommodate. Said it would take too long... The restaurant was barely half full on a Saturday night. Bill splitting could have easily been done. Everyone had one drink and an entree because of this. Pretty ridiculous

Overall I was pretty disappointed in my most recent experience. The appetizers were delicious but entrees were underwhelming. Their shtick is the custom made old fashioned and it was a good old fashioned but honestly didnt stand out against other $18 cocktails that Ive had elsewhere. The service was really sub par for the price point of the restaurant. One order was wrong, the server seemed upset when the table didnt order a second round of drinks, didnt seem to have much care for our conversations when he approached the table. Not the worst experience Ive had but for the price point I wouldnt go back

Service was OK, not fantastic. Old Fashioned table side was kinda cool.The decor and layout was nothing special. Food was absolutely awful. Extremely overpriced for what it was. Bison burnt ends were dry. 4 small pieces for $22 was very pricey. Duck confit (leg) was salty and dry and came with 3 lbs of roasted sprouts. Where s the starch? I was still hungry after the 3 bites of duck I finished. Burger was mediocre. Bun was soggy and over sauced. The tiny nibblets of fries were poor. Not impressed. Charging way too much for what the quality of food coming out of the kitchen. Would not go back.

I dine out a lot, and this was the worse experience of my life. The food here is really good, but I believe because my friends looked a little different the bar manager sat by the kitchen entrance and stared at us the entire night. I was so disgusted and I uncomfortable by his behaviour. At the end of our $300 meal he refused to separate the bills, and tried to tack on 20% gratuity because we had two friends show up at the end of the meal for a quick drink before we went to our venue. We ended up paying the bill and did not leave a tip. I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone.

The food was okay. Not nearly the level I would of expected from this tier of restaurant. Order the duck (over cooked) the burger (nothing special, kinda bland. In house ketchup was horrible) the calamari (pretty good, would recommend) Had a smoked old fashion to drink which I would also recommend. Service was slow for how empty the place was. We were in there for a little over 2 hours and I feel like the majority of the time we were just waiting excessive long for things. We ordered food right away and asked for the appie first but they waited until our mains were done to bring it out. Which we would of skipped had we known it was coming out with the food. The waiting was punctuated by the fact thatonece we were done we waited a long time to be able to ask for the bill then waited for our bill to come. Probably spent 20-30 min waiting to leave after eating.

Fancy drinks, great food and awesome people running the place. A must stop for a good cocktail, they burn the boards for smoked old fashioned and prepare the drinks right at the table. Wish we could get there more often...

We booked One 18 Empire for an 85th birthday celebration. They handled our group of 33 with ease and made it a very memorable celebration. Chef Sean and his team prepared an amazing feast and Daniellis took excellent care of our group. We are so pleased with how the event turned out.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant bar. The service provided by Othman was exceptional - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was not only delicious but truly special, making the evening memorable. I highly recommend this place for a fantastic dining experience!

It is a very cozy place attached to the Marriott Hotel in the downtown area. The service was great, and the food was great. I particularly love the fries and the opportunity to order large food that can be shared if you are more than 2. Overall, great experience.

Best Old Fashioned in Calgary. The service here is always pretty good, and the food is alright. But if you are a fan of Old Fashioneds and/or whiskey and bourbon, this place is fantastic. The couple Old Fashioned options they have on their menu are all really great, but you can also customize your drink with different whiskey, bitters, and wood smoke options. Its really fantastic, definitely the place to go if thats your drink of choice.

We are from the country, we were downtown for a theatre performance and I chose this restaurant for the proximity to the theatre and that they were one of the few that had a kids menu. Although this place was nice, we would not be dining here again. The kids menu was very small (3 things) and only offered bar style options, We wouldve liked a few more options. The ambiance is definitely suited for city dwellers and travelers. The prices were a little steep for the food, but the presentation was lovely. Vegetarian options: There are a couple vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, but very limited Wheelchair accessibility: There is no stairs, and there are options where you can take a chair out to make space for the wheelchair.

Daniellis needs a serious raise! The best server I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. This place is worth it, trust me!

Best experience weve had in Canada so far. Server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, food surpassed the price-point by a mile. Cocktails great. Everything represented incredible value. Make this place a priority especially if youre staying downtown. Love love love.

We went there for brunch on Christmas day. It was 4 of us and we each got an item. Some of them were bigger and nicely displayed, some were a bit rushed and small. Service was average, so was the final bill.

We had Christmas drinks with our company here, and was impressed by the service..which was awesome considering there were 20+ of us. The staff kept us in drinks without missing a beat. The old fashioned was excellent but had to have half sweet. We each had a starter, a meal and a dessert. All three were outstanding. I had Duck legs that were incredible, and the hanger steak was one of the best I have had and ended it all with the sour cherry cheesecake.....also incredible. Thank you to all the excellent staff..looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Neither my wife or I are particularly big Whiskey drinkers. In truth I ve never really had a Whiskey I liked. But we choose this place on a whim for date night as it was close to Vertigo Theatre. We decided to try something we would not normally try and boy was it worth it. First off the staff were fantastic. Our server Oren was a genuinely great guy. He helped us select drinks and made excellent food recommendations. It was still early evening so the place wasn t super busy yet so he was able to devote a little extra attention to us and gave us some nice conversation along with the theatrics of the drink making. I wish more servers were like Oren. Ok so for a guy who doesn t like whiskey I was surprised. It was actually pretty good. So if I liked it I m sure whiskey lovers will. The food was unbelievable. We had the soft pretzel, popcorn and honey truffle chips to start. The French onion dip that comes with the chips was mind blowing. So good in fact we had the chef sub out the Dijon aioli in the burger for the French Onion dip. What a good call that was because that burger was out of this world. They should make that the standard burger. Wish I could give more than five stars here. Will be back for sure.

This place was amazing! The ability to build your own smoked old fashioned was truly incredible and the appetizer we ordered was very tasty. Great atmosphere and a fantastic experience all around!

Dine in dinner: chicken burger appears to be a solid choice in terms of value, taste and presentation. Everything else ordered had some shortcomings. Brussel sprouts, good but looks blasé. Wagyu Beef tartare; high expectations came up short when it was served over burnt toast and indiscriminate aioli sauce. Foie Gras Pate: good but only two pieces of oddly accompanied corn bread. Confit duck wings; all 5 pieces were drum sticks!

Was in a bit of a rush ... got my buger in a timely fashion. Especially grateful there wasnt the usual thing seen on a typical burger. No mustard, ketchup or relish. Very tasty, well made burger. Went for Sunday brunch, it was far from great. 2 stars because the food was good but everything else was disappointing. The table was sticky and had visible food on it. Got a coffee and the cup had a coffee ring. Ordered food and were immediately brought the bill and the server asked multiple times if we were ready to pay when we were still eating. I finally asked if they needed the table and server said no, theres lots. No one checked in to see if we needed more coffee or juice, no one asked if food was ok. Oh and there was a guy vaping and not one staff member asked him to stop.

Ok, this is a bit of a classic hotel bar restaurant. The staff is very good. The food is very, very good. Had both breakfast and dinner there. Definately worth stopping by if you are in the Marriott

Unbelievable evening. Oren and Luke are just fantastic people first and foremost but rock as servers. Great greeting when arriving and drinks/food suggestions. The night was just amazing and the standard of service that we received is the benchmark. We will be back with service that most places would envy.

Showed up an hour before the bar closed looking to sample whiskeys. Oren made the evening an exciting and educational experience! He was warm and friendly, happy to answer all my questions. Andys drink mixing skills were exceptional. Plenty of great whiskey options and premium cocktails! Will come back! Approachable atmosphere for whiskey fans of all backgrounds!

Ive been wanting to try out @One18Empire for the longest time, and finally got a chance to do so this past weekend. We had a lovely family brunch with some pretty good food! : - ($21): Be warned... this is a huge sandwich! It comes with house-cut sea salt fries, house made piri-piri sauce, smoked sweet pepper aioli, pickled cabbage slaw on a brioche bun. We quite enjoyed this! The chicken was nice and crispy and well seasoned. 18 ($23): The brown butter croutons are so so good! I was tempted to ask for them as a side :p! We added chicken to our salad and it was perfectly grilled. Great healthy option! 18 ($23): Another huge burger! The patty is so fresh! They grind the meat in-house which is what makes it so fresh and yummy. Was quite disappointed by this restaurant. I made a reservation for my boyfriends birthday and they seated us in a spot right next to the door and so close to other patrons. Was really hoping they would give us a nice private table but nope. Service was terrible - took forever for someone just to take our order. The old fashioned making at our table was the highlight of the night and the drinks were delicious. Otherwise, the food was very meh and overpriced for what it was. The owner? came by and said happy birthday to my boyfriend and that was it...they didnt make him feel very special at all. Would not revisit.

Food was great along with drinks. But the filipina lady running the food is ruining the whole experience. She has no customer service skill, shes rude , she doesnt explain what she brings us.. it was our first time , she brought us 3 plates which we didnt know what they were. I asked her if she could explain me, and totally made me feel like im stupid to ask. I very much dislike her and wouldnt want to be served by her. Shes far from positive for the business.

Breakfast hit the spot! Very tasty, good portions and great atmosphere. The waiter was friend and service was quick. Picture of meal is the brazen beef.

If you are interested in having an old-fashioned drink in a multitude of variations and that is smoked then look no further. They claim to have 1000 variations and the presentation of making them in from of customers is second to none They have a limited menu of high-quality food. Its a must-try if youre a fan of old fashion drinks .

Very very disappointed in the service we received yesterday. I had arranged a bachelorette brunch for my cousin. The operations manager had e-mailed me saying that the month of May had $5 mimosas. From the moment we got to the restaurant we felt ignored. It took forever for the server to get our drink orders even though the restaurant was completely dead, and when she finally did she told us that the mimosa deal was done because May is over. Last I checked it was still May. She argued with us and I showed her the email I had from Luke saying it. She finally gave in and agreed to it. It also took forever for us to get our food. They did nothing special for my cousin at all. I felt so bad. Usually restaurants go above and beyond to make a bride to be feel special. This restaurant did nothing. Not only that we had a last minute cancellation of two people, we were told the minimum spent should be $250. I understand this but after the horrible service we received youd think that she would waive this. We were $35 short. We then decided to order three deserts to go and requested the nuts on the side due to an allergy. We paid the bill and took the desserts back and found that there was nuts all over the brownies. The only good part of the whole experience was the cookies that I had ordered from another bakery. I would never ever return to this place and recommend others dont either.

The food and the ambiance is great.

Im staying at the hotel for a conference and stopped in for a cocktail the first night. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My martini was made exactly as I asked and the bartender was very accommodating. Will definitely stop in again. So I stopped in again for a nightcap and went with a Smoked Old Fashioned with walnut, Maple syrup, Aztec chocolate Bitters and Knob Creek Bourbon.

Pretty decent, everything is as expected, good but not spectacular

I threw my boyfriend a surprise 30th birthday party in the semi-private lounge space at One18Empire and I cannot say enough incredible things about our experience. Everything was PERFECT! From the beginning, I was in contact with Anna Jedrzejczyk and she was the kindest, most accommodating person to work with and she would answer any questions I had through the phone and email so promptly. Any suggestions or requests I had, Anna respected them and honoured them with kindness. She was so incredibly helpful leading up to the event, she helped work the event (and all the guests who met her spoke so highly of her), and she also stored everything in her office until the next day when we were able to pick it up. The drink and appetizer menus were absolutely perfect for our group and everything came together more smoothly than I could have ever imagined. Thanks to Anna and One18Empire, I would suggest this venue to anyone planning a special event! I highly recommend celebrating here and I will most certainly be booking again some day!

Old Fashioned and burgers were amazing!

Just had a coffee no food but the atmosphere was good clean and tidy

I called one18 empire to book a reservation for my birthday dinner and asked for the patio. The lady I was speaking to said it is usually not available (which would ve been fine) but she said she would ask her manager if there s anything that can be done and get back to me. She thought she had put me on hold but didn t and I could hear her conversation with a manager and another employee. She was saying things along the lines of I told them I d ask but I m not going to, I know we can t do it , laughed about it and proceeded to tell other people the same thing. She then came back on the line saying she asked her manager and that s when I stopped her, letting her know I heard everything she was saying and to actually make sure she puts people on hold next time she wants to lie. Does this happen here every time someone tries to book a reservation? We were actually excited to check this place out but I will not be recommending this place to anyone I know.

Great hotel bar, cocktail menu was extensive, pricing was higher but to be expected in the lobby of the Marriott. The crispy chicken sandwich and kale caesar were excellent.

Ordered some appetizers to share between two people. Calamari was delicious! Short ribs were a bit dry whereas the beef tartare was my least favourite dish as we didnt finish that one. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Recently had two amazing experiences at One18, and was lucky enough to have Daniellis as our service both times. She is fun, funny and really attentive. Daniellis made our smoked old fashioned right in front of us, I couldnt pick a favorite of their menu, so i recommend trying them all. (You can also custom make your own) Great food, delicious drinks, and incredible service. I will definitely be back... and will be having more duck wings!

We had a wonderful experience with our server Danielis. She was so good that after early afternoon cocktails we returned for dinner rather than going to another restaurant in town. She was so helpful and especially attentive to our kids. Thank you for the amazing service!

Fantastic food and the service was great.

Service here was too notch! I can t remember our servers name but he was awesome - super knowledgeable and made you feel like you were a regular there. I d like to give 5 stars just for him! The drinks were also delicious! I m only giving 4 stars because the food wasn t great. We ordered 3 different appetizers to share (flatbread, squid and ribs) and they were ok but I wouldn t order any of them again.

I haven t tried the food here, but the drinks were spot on. I loved the drinks here, would definitely recommend.

Great Ahi Tuna.

This place is s excellent. It felt and looked more casual than I expected. Once you accept its a WHISKY bar and not a jacket and tie restaurant you will be on board with this place. The food is stunning. The tuna poke is fresh and somehow light and hearty simultaneously. The scallops are adorable protein gems with indulgent slices of pork belly; its served atop a polenta I can only describe as sexy. The ribeye (14 oz. bud!) was a SMOKED slab of seard goodness. The Brussel sprout side should be called bacon with sprouts. The duck breast was a gorgeous medium rare that paired brilliantly with tiny dots of roasted garlic... mayo? Purée? Im unsure. The maitre d (Karina, but I didnt get the proper spelling) came by our table to check in- always appreciated. Our server Carley was helpful, humourous and flat-out awesome. The staff earned the 5th star in this review, no doubt. Please order a custom Old-fashioned. Its a tableside experience that I will try when I return. And I will return. Please check this place out sometime...

Food and Drinks were tasty, pricey for portion size but still decent. Service was not amazing, they forgot about us for ~20 minutes, and they also had just changed their menu and seemed relatively confused about some of the new menu items. Had several gluten free options and did a good job with my gluten allergy, I didnt feel sick. Would give 3.5 if I could.

The best old fashioned experience in Calgary.

This place had the best old fashions I have ever tasted. I came here for my fathers birthday and had the best time, our server Daniellis made this experience even better. Truly outstanding. Delectable food, brilliant atmosphere, and customer service was perfect.

The service is incredible. We had the nicest greatest server! The cocktails here are awesome. Watching them make some cocktails tableside was really neat. We also got complimentary homemade honey chips and dip because our waiter feared our food would take a bit, it did not. Food arrived at a good speed. So the extra Appy was just an added treat. Will be returning very soon!

We had the most amazing experience with Daniellis. She recommended the most amazing Old Fashioned! The One18 Empire 24 Karat! And she treated was with such class and professionalism. We highly recommend visiting and getting Daniellis to make you a drink!

Food was great. Service was terrible. Didn t give cutlery, till after I received my food. I Was given my bill while I was still eating my food like I was being rushed out the door when there was no one in the restaurant. I was paying cash for my food and waited for at least 15 to 20 minutes, and then decided to go to them since no one was coming to me. Again no one on the restaurant but me at this time.

Took a weekend staycation downtown Calgary. Spent one every having a drink and watching football. Service was good. Unfortunately there was a large, noisy group of men who had been drinking too much. Why do they think everyone wants to hear their foul mouthed, women degrading talk. It would be nice if staff and managers would notice and ask groups like this to tone it down. There were families there with kids. So inappropriate.

Brutal service. We had had reservations before an event, in the hour we were there we were only able to place one drink order and got some snacks. We sat with our menus on our table unable to order as no one came back to take our food order. It was disparaging to see the two servers hanging out to the left of the bar and laughing with the bartender while the only 4 tables in the establishment went without. The table next to us also had issues getting service. The two servers working Oct 15 at 3:30 need education on how to do their jobs. The fact we had to leave this establishment and go to a different restaurant so we could eat should be embarrassing. We were paying our bill with menus still on our table. No where near my previous experiences at Empire, unfortunately I wont be back it was so awful.

Stellar food and service top class for sure but there whisky cocktails are ware they really shine!!!

Great service from the events team. We held a breakfast function and it ran seamlessly with food and coffee delivered very quickly. Great convenient location.

Stopped in for the smoked old-fashions at happy hour and what a great experience! Watching our server prepare our beverages was a fun experience - you can choose your smoke, bitters, and bourbon and sugar so theres an endless choice! We then stopped in after dinner for a nightcap because we had enjoyed the happy hour experience so much, and we were equally pleased.

Bourbon central in Calgary - vast selection. Superbly trained and knowledgeable bartenders/servers. Cocktail menu is fantastic and food is complimentary, too. The atmosphere is great for a late night dinner or just drinks. Central location next to the Calgary tower, Stephen Ave and transit. Short walk away from Saddledome/Stampede grounds.

Service was long and mediocre, as mentioned multiple times in previous reviews. Our server in specific had an attitude right from the start, and gave us the incorrect bill 3 times. Not a large selection on the menu. Menu is aimed towards the pricey side for what food you re actually getting. For this price selection, I would recommend seeking out other options as it truly wasn t a special meal or experience.

Had the premium Bourbon Flight at One18 on Sunday. It was so delicious and presentation was sophisticated. Our table ordered the truffle fries and charcuterie board. Both were next level. Ben was a fun & charming server and knew the menu and drinks well.

Great old fashions, but slow service

Went here with a group for a birthday dinner for two friends, and after one person in the group had a medical emergency (which was far from anyone s control) we dealt with the situation ourselves. They went home after 20 minutes, and we were denied service even though our reservation was still booked for plenty time. Not respectful of our plans, and definitely not respectful of our friend who had to leave. I brought up this concern on their instagram page to which my comment has now been deleted. Extremely disappointed with the service.

Excellent. Our server recommended a fantastic build your own old fashioned and we wrapped up with flights which included detailed tasting notes. Cant wait to come back!

We hosted a pre-event for a show next door at the Jack Singer. They set up satellite bar with a food station. The drinks & appies were excellent, in particular the Old Fashions were well received. Although it is a busy location near the lobby it was easy access from he main door and to our next event. There was still a great private feel to the room and nice seating with a fireplace.

Great spot to stop for a cocktail, service from Danielles was awesome!

I have had an amazing experience here each time I have visited, first time was for a charity event, other two times was with business partners. Come for the amazing old fashions and elevated experience, stay for the amazing service. We have really appreciated our servers with each visit but wanted to take a moment to thank Daniellis and Kalli for going over and above to make sure our experience was worth 5 starts! I m sure all staff members are equally as amazing and I look forward to coming back here in the future

Great variety of old fashion cocktails & service

Great service and flexible staff. I wanted a quick lunch at 11:00 am before catching my flight. The guys had no problem accommodating. Had the classic steak frites. Delicious.

We stopped in for a couple of drinks so this review is based only on that. I love a good old fashioned and I have always heard people say One18 is the place to go. Its a treat to have them come to your table and smoke the glass for you. Our server was incredibly nice, attentive and aware. I wish I could remember her name because she deserves to be mentioned. You could tell she had made countless smoked old fashions for people and had the knowledge of how each type of wood would change your drink. If you pick a standard bourbon/whiskey, they are pretty affordable for Calgary standards. Next time I will have to come for some food as well...but will stay for the old fashions.

Such a fun restaurant. I have been here twice now, once for brunch and most recently for cocktails on Saturday night. George, our server was amazing with the friendliest service and most delicious old fashioned cocktails. Andy was such a good vibe too! I totally recommend ONE18 for a fun, and vibrant experience!

Good service and good food

We got take out for the first time. Duck confit and beef tartare. There is nothing I would change about either dish except to maybe order more! I could drink that blackberry bourbon glaze and the duck was so tender and easy to eat. The tartare was fresh, flavourful and also one of the best I have had. Well deserved 5 stars! We will be back to try everything else.

Meh. Food was really bland and the drinks were a bit overpriced, unless you dont mind paying a premium for the table-side smoking (which is cool but overpowering). Charcuterie was delicious, to be fair. Great service though, no issues there.

We had such a wonderful time at this restaurant. Our server Daniellis was such a gem and made our evening magical. She was super helpful with her recommendations as this was our first visit! Absolutely loved the food and drinks and hope to visit this restaurant again soon :)

The food was amazing - our server wasnt. She was OK but she forgot an order and didnt really make good recommendations on the old-fashioned. Only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars.
