Escape in the heart of Central Memorial Park to indulge in the flavors of the Mediterranean in our award winning solarium. Open all day; you can enjoy a delicious brunch, a leisurely lunch, happy hour with coworkers, or a dinner with family and friends. The perfect location to enjoy a flavourful meal, a delightful cocktail, and conversation with those you love. Chef Stefan Gusztak @parkbysidewalk
I chose the lamb meatballs and cauliflower. Totally superb food. See pics. We were a table of 8 and my only complaint was that they added 20% automatically to the bill (which I kinda get) but our server did not point that out. I find it bordering on unethical that she wouldn't mention it, because a couple of people added a further tip because they weren't aware. Hey management, it left a sour taste when you added 20% like that, so you should change your practice to at least mention it out of respect and courtesy. However I gave you 5 because the food and ambience were superb. Take a look at the pics of the dry aged lamb, yummy!
Amazing brunch place! Loved every preparation by the chef. Cured salmon on sourdough was so delicious. Shakshuka was a 10/10
This was our first time visit here and we were not disappointed. Everything was super delicious and the Pork Cheeks and the Lamb chops were cooked to perfection. Great service too. Highly recommend.
We recently had our wedding dinner reception for 65 guests at Park by Sidewalk Citizen. We gravitated towards the space because my husband and I wanted an intimate gathering but also loved the warmth the solarium brought. We loved that we had to only decorate the space minimally. We were lucky to have great weather on the day of our event which allowed us to utilize their patio for canape hour and gave our guests some extra space to mingle. In addition to the atmosphere, the food, cocktails and the service were also exceptional. We planned our event with Park's events manager as part of their Day-of-coordination add on and they were on top of checking in periodically to ensure our decisions and vision were aligned and they can execute what we had planned before the big day. We had several in person and video meetings and we thought their events manager and service team were really personable and great in communicating with us. We also had the opportunity to have a food and beverage menu tasting and a separate dessert tasting beforehand which allowed us to enjoy and make selections for our reception menu. Our guests and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Park. A lot of our guests said they would love to return again for casual dining and commented on how the food and drinks were very good. Some notable dishes our guests really enjoyed were the fried chicken and halloumi skewer, the cauliflower, flatiron steak and the cod. Highly recommend them for the wonderful food and beverage and exceptional events services.
Amazing place! We ordered few dishes and cocktails, all were satisfying and great. The service was great and to atmosphere was very welcoming and easy going. Food came out quickly. Menu is unique and every dish was better than the one before.
A hidden gem in downtown Calgary. From the outside it doesn’t seem to be a nice place, but the interior is beautiful with an inviting atmosphere. Dining area has large open windows the lead to the patio, so you aren’t too hot but still get plenty of fresh air. The cured salmon was tasty, good option for those who don’t like eggs but want a salmon Benedict.
We had our wedding at the Park recently (ceremony & reception) and although we knew how aesthetically unique this restaurant was, our expectations were exceeded with how everything went - from Kriya’s help with planning the schedule, helping us with food choices and her attention to detail, all the amazing food and dessert, and lastly, the incredible staff who took care of us/our guests, and made the entire day/evening seamless. If you are looking for a unique venue with great food, cocktails and service, I would highly recommend considering the Park. Thank you to the Park staff again for everything. You truly made the day so special for us.
Nice and clean decor, great service. Dishes meant to be shared. I really liked the Capellini Pasta, risotto and squid. Wasn't a fan of the Burata. We shared the snicker bar and Pastel de Nata for dessert. The snicker Bar was good but Pastel de nata fell short. We were expecting a thick custard middle but it was runny and liquid vanilla filling.
Sadly, the fish in my meal was bad.
A hidden gem in the city. Great spot for a group dinner with so many different option on the menu. The dips and pita are incredible Vegetarian options: Several
Very relaxing atmosphere and the service was fantastic. Our server gave excellent recommendations and the food and drinks were fantastic! We will be back
Wife brought home takeout, and all dishes amazing! Lamb ribs, pasta salad, falafel, tuna ceviche with crisps. Easily the best I have had, and traveled better than most fresh dine in! Amazing great taste! Food : 5/5
What a find! Fantastic meal and incredible staff. The space is beautiful as well.
Great atmosphere! Food was delicious.. had a homemade feel and taste to it that just added to the experience. Food
We had recently had our anniversary dinner here which we picked on a whim when staying the night in Calgary. We were drawn in by the beautiful architecture and decor from photos, and were equally impressed when we arrived. Not only was the place beautiful and cozy, but it had a warm atmosphere and staff assured we were quickly taken care of. We ordered the Lamb leg, Potato, and Tuna Crudo- all spectacular and fresh! What a lovely spot to visit if you want some eats out of your regular rotation, that are incredibly well done. The chefs have clearly curated food that represents the natural, fresh, communal atmosphere of the restaurant. The shared plate style of meals allowed me and my partner to really enjoy and experience together- exactly as we d like on our anniversary. We were there around 5:30 pm on a Sunday- so thank you to the lovely staff that were on at the time. Fantastic!
Wonderful space, we were lucky enough to be here while it was raining and the sound was magical. Staff was so kind and helpful with our littles. Food was outstanding!
Best restaurant in the city. Hope the price stays as it is because it s perfect taste and value. Everyone here cares about the restaurant, from service to cooks.
We held our wedding reception at Park this past weekend. David and his team did a wonderful job in the planning ahead of the event and the execution on the day o f. Everything went off without a hitch. The food & drinks were incredible, and the venue was stunning - requiring no additional decor on our part. We would highly recommend Park as a venue for your wedding!
We got served by Connor and he was THE BEST server. He gave us complementary mimosas and sourdough for my friend s birthday. We had the best time! Highly recommend this place and Connor s service.
Incredible space and food, from the moment we walked into the space the staff were so friendly and awesome, and the the food just blew our socks off! Best falafel in town and the lamb is like nothing I ve ever had! Lambtastic some might say. The manager was super funny all his bits killed at our table. Definitely will be back!
The place is very beautiful, the food was great even though we had to quickly eat leave due to an appointment. I will definitely be back.
Received genuinely atrocious service last Saturday for an early lunch. It took nearly 15 minutes for our server to greet us after sitting down, she spilled beer on my fiancée when putting them on the table, and was awkwardly reaching over people, nearly hitting them in the head and banging plates into glasses on the table. Took 10 minutes to get two beers served, and another 15 to get the bill. Keep in mind the restaurant was maybe 20% full at this time. Oh yeah, and since we were a party of 6 there was an automatic 20% gratuity for all of this! The restaurant was also out of the lamb pita wrap, but yet I was suggested the lamb arayes as a replacement - you can t just take the lamb from the sandwich and put it in the wrap?? The food was decent but I will likely not be returning, I served and bartended in the restaurant industry for a long time and this was a level of incompetence I m not sure I ve seen before. I ve received better service at Boston Pizza.
Great food very cool atmosphere.
Just no
My thanks to Ryan and manager David for going above and beyond allowing an external cake for a birthday party at a very low additional cost per person. I really appreciate this level of high service, and this charming place has a menu at very reasonable prices. A rarity in these times!
I went here for my birthday party of 6 people, and it couldnt have been a better experience. The service was awesome, the food delicious and great for sharing, and the restaurant acoustics make it so its not too loud and we could actually have a conversation. The staff, especially our server Ryan, went above and beyond to make the night special and we had a great time. Highly recommend!
Food was mediocre at best so that was disappointing seeing that the restaurant itself is cute. If you re looking for authentic and tasty mediterranean food then look elsewhere as this establishment is Israeli owned so therefore the farthest possible thing from authentic and original. Be cautious of who your money goes to!
if you re looking for authentic, not stolen mediterranean food, this is not the place. given it several tries and left disappointed each time. after finding it it s Israeli owned, i finally know why. thieves can never be owners
We hosted 40 friends for a wedding brunch at Park. The events coordinator was a dream to work with! On the day of the party, we saw Park for the first time. We walked into a gorgeous large-windowed room, elegant and warm at the same time. We were greeted by a friendly, most helpful, lovely manager and his wonderful staff. It felt like we were welcoming family into own home. It was a marvellous feeling. Our guests were touched by the attentive service, delicious innovative food and gorgeous setting in the park. Many of them are planning a return visit to this great venue! Bravo manager, chefs and staff!!
Excellent brunch spot!
The options were wonderful. Food was very different to my usual taste but worked and were mostly delicious. Wish they had kept the potatoes from before.
The cured salmon dish is absolutely delicious and this restaurant has fantastic architecture!
Smoked meat sandwich is delicious. Smoked in house! Vegetarian options: Falafel, shakshuka Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options at night Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible washroom on main floor
Oh my this place is so good please give me more.... Edit - it has been about 3 weeks since I went...... help...... I cant stop going and now I cannot pay my ridiculous 2.4k single bedroom apartment rent. At least I am absolutely full on that fried chicken pita wrap!
A must go! The food is delicious, really engaging your whole palette! Portions are perfect for sharing! Price is really good! 10/10. This place is perfect for a family outing or even a friendly get together. If you are looking for a restaurant that cares about your experience, your taste buds, and what you put into your body. This is the place I will definitely be coming back Kid-friendliness: Lots of families here when we came and it was really nice to see
Ordered an areya without feta, it was super greasy and had feta in it but I had already left when I noticed. For the price I was still hungry afterwards... Staff were welcoming but something got mixed up in conveying my order properly. Ive seen nicer attempts at a greenhouse vibe for the atmosphere. I wouldnt come here again, not my jam.
How do I give 4.5 stars? What I want this review to express is: is it the greatest restaurant I ve ever been to? Not quite, but it s definitely one I d recommend with enthusiasm! We had the pita and hummus (warm, bouncy pita and delicious za atar seasoning ), the lamb ribs (!!), the squid (!!!!), the cauliflower ( ), and bison skewers. Do not sleep on the squid (calamari), it s the best we ve ever had. Somehow so meaty and tender at the same time how? Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable of the menu and had some fab recommendations (espesh the sparkling wine suggestion Maison Rosier Blanquette de Limoneux, delightful!). She timed our meal perfectly and was always there at exactly the moment before we needed her (aka precisely the right moment). It s a shame that the venue s surroundings can be a bit harrowing (street drug use in Central Memorial Park and everything that comes with that), as that unfortunately has a bit of an effect on the atmosphere. Inside, however, the ambiance is impeccable. It s truly a beautiful space, and very welcoming. We had a lovely evening and Park hit the spot. Thank you!
Super cool location with amazing friendly staff and food. David went above and beyond to take care of us while we were there. Will be back again soon.
A Must try in Calgary! We accidentally stumbled upon Park by Sidewalk Citizen and discovered a true gem in the heart of Calgary! The charming decor instantly drew us in, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, with every bite surpassing our expectations. However, what truly made our experience exceptional was the impeccable service. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Shout out to David who s kindness did not go unnoticed:) We will definitely be back for sure! Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful experience.
When you walk in, you will get amazed by the beautiful interior and atmosphere of the restaurant. Then the server provides such a great quality of service (thanks Connor!!) Lastly, you will find yourself licking your fingers and the dishes.
Great place! Great food. It was too noisy when we were there (Stampede events was extremely loud)
Such a gem in the city. The building is beautiful inside, and the patio is so pretty with all of the flowers in bloom. We tried several dishes and everything was fantastic, really creative and with different twists that were delightful.
One of the best restaurants Ive been to. The server and Connor were both super friendly and the food was delicious
Everything you order will be delicious. Well worth stopping by on every trip to the city. Everyone was friendly and our waitress recommendations made the dinner even better.
Super cute place should be a great place to grab nice light fare but the menu needs some work. The dishes need to be thought through a little more. The wrap has a weird texture, the Araya was one note, it really needed a sauce or something and it wasnt made properly with ground meat like it should have been. The service was very friendly though.
If you are visiting Calgary and are looking for dinner other than burgers, fries and steaks, this is an absolute recommendation! Celestes service was perfect and the food tasted great. The principle of the restaurant is: order different, small dishes and share with each other. The menu and dishes are very varied and were consistently delicious. If we had any questions, Celeste gave us great advice and we enjoyed one of the best dinners on our tour. Many thanks to the team!
The place is nice and unique, and the food delicious. I had been there before and I decided to go back for a special occasion. The dishes are a little small and, for a group, it can be tricky to share if they dont tell you in advance (we were 7). However, I think is too much to ask you to tip after adding a 20% service fee (which I dont remember reading in the menu, and its for parties of 8 according their description in OpenTable) and then suggest a % tip in the receipt. And the tip is on top of the first 20% tip and GST. To be honest, I am to blame for entering a tip in the machine, but my overall experience has diminished after realizing at home that I unwilling tipped +$100.
What an amazing spot. I ve only ever come for lunch, but we were with a table of seven of us, which meant that we could order a lot of different dishes and try different things. Every single bite was absolutely delicious, the server was fantastic and the atmosphere is very natural and visually interesting. Highly recommend the fried chicken, the halloumi, the dips actually everything, you can t go wrong here!
This place is delightful. The food was amazing as was the service. We went for brunch. Its such a sweet lil restaurant, will definitely be back in the summer for dinner.
Connor the restaurant manager took the experience over the top. He had great energy, was very knowledgeable about the food and ton of fun. Wonderful ambiance, great good and excellent service. Definitely will be coming back! Food : 5/5
What an amazing Mothers Day dinner! The restaurant wall opens up to a beautiful park right near downtown. The building is such a stunning unique design with a relaxed vibe. The family style food was fun to share and every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. However the best part was our server Connor who went over the top to make our dinner experience memorable. Do yourself a favor and give this restaurant a try!!
Had a wonderful evening on the restaurant patio with a group of 5. This was our first visit to this restaurant and Ruslan was so helpful and helped us with how much to order, recommended favorite dishes and was very attentive. Sharing small plates of delicious food was delightful. We practically licked the plates clean. Will definitely be making a return visit as there are other menu items that we did not get a chance to try.
Our recent visit to this establishment was truly exceptional, thanks to the exquisite cuisine and impeccable service. The staff, were not only attentive but also friendly, enriching our dining experience with their warmth and professionalism. The menu offered a delightful fusion of flavors, drawing inspiration from Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Georgian cuisines. Standout dishes included the potato pancake ordered by my wife a perfect balance of airy softness and crispy edges and the flavorful tabbouleh, a refreshing burst of freshness. The ambiance, with its rustic charm and crackling fireplaces, provided a cozy retreat from the winter chill. Thoughtful facilities, including accessible washrooms, added to the overall comfort of our visit. In summary, our experience was a harmonious blend of culinary delight and hospitality, leaving us eager to return and explore more of the menus innovative offerings.
Went into Park by Sidewalk Citizen today for lunch. Everything that I had was amazing and the service was excellent. I cant wait to go back to try more of their brunch menu, and Ill have to come in for dinner too, as their dinner menu looked very good. I also love how bright and airy the dining area is!
We had brunch in this lovely establishment inside Central Memorial Park. We asked to sit outside to enjoy the sun and the fresh air but we saw the inviting and relaxed ambiance of the dining room inside. We had cured salmon and a falafel wrap which were both excellent and hearty. Our server, Ryan, was a delight and made the whole first visit great.
One of the best brunches in town. Mediterranean inspiration, I went there two times and it was always very very good! You cant be wrong with this place
They were able to accommodate a last minute coffee Meetup on a Saturday afternoon. They were so accommodating and helpful and we loved every person we dealt with. The food was good (pitas, hummus, falafel, pasta, shakshuka) and enjoyed in a charming space.
Great value, the potato pancake is probably equivalent to 1.5 meals . Would definitely come back again.
Recently went to a wedding here. Food was exceptional. Service was exceptional. The squid appetizer...fantastic. Fresh made pita for flatbread at the end of the night. Lamb entree and potatoes were divine.
Had an amazing brunch. Very comfy place for brunch and beautiful even in winter. Staff were extremely friendly, Ryan and Dave were excellent. I love the flavour palette here. A lot of really unique flavours Ive never experienced at any other restaurant. Dishes were Mediterranean/middle east/Georgian influenced. I had the potato pancake which was delicious. The inside was like an airy cake with crispy edges. FroZen vanilla yogurt on top with Dulce de leche. Not too sweet. And balanced by the sumac. Ive never tasted sumac before and it add such an incredible dimension to the dishes. Lemony, tart, sweet heat. Just incredible. The tabouleh was the best Ive ever had. Just so filling and fresh. Loved the sumac and heat with the sweet onions and parsley. My partner had the mushroom khachapuri which one of the staff described as eggs Benedict adjacent. A good description. Its such a unique dish. Bechemal deep inside, crispy edges and egg throughout, mushrooms, some kind of bottom thats dough like. Ive never seen anything like it before and she loved it. Portions were excellent as well. Definitely give this place a try if you like unique flavours! Im excited to try the dinner menu. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible in the restaurant, there is an accessible toilet on the main floor.
Popped in for brunch. Our food was great and the service was amazing. Well definitely be back. Food
AH-Mazing! Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and incredible service! We went to brunch yesterday and had such a great experience. Connor was our server and he did such a fantastic job making sure we were taken care of and also bringing fun into our visit with great conversation! The food is so great, I had the shakshuka and words cant even begin to describe how wonderful the depth of flavor was. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great atmosphere for any occasion.
The food here was sooo good! The skewers were mouthwatering, both beef and chicken with complimentary sauces. The hummus and baba ganoush werent too good, but the pita made up for it. The restaurant itself is super pretty. Its atmosphere is very calming and its just whimsical. We went during happy hour, so the prices werent too bad, but I noticed that the regular prices are a bit high. The service was good, staff was very nice, and food arrived at a good time. Overall, I would probably go to Sidewalk Citizen again!
As a wedding photographer and fellow women-owned business, I adore Park By Sidewalk Citizen! Such a lovely and unique venue for weddings and guests always have an amazing experience!
Amazing experience! Went there for brunch. The menu offers a variety of interesting and tasty choices. The staff is very dedicated and friendly and the place is just wonderful. Definitely would be back to try more!
I can t say enough about how awesome our experience was here! My wife and I arrived early for our reservation and because there were no tables open they kindly gave us the option to sit at the bar in the kitchen while we waited. Which we did! The chefs were witty and we enjoyed talking with them. They even made us complimentary flat bread with a side of delicious baba ghanoush while we waited. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing! All at a great price point. They definitely could have used another server though, the staff were flying! I hope that pace isn t typical for their sake! It was a nice warm atmosphere all round. The fireplaces are a great touch. I definitely recommend Park! Thank you for making our date night so great!
A1 Sourdough. Absolutely beautiful products.
Had a great experience here, noticeably not only due to the food but from the amazing service provided here. Staff are attentive, friendly and easy to engage into conversations professionally. They ensured to keep things running efficiently and kept it all orderly at the same time. Food here - what seems to be simple words on a menu ends up being an explosion of flavours on the palette. Very well presented and wonderfully flavorful - especially the fried/baked potatoes (one of the best Ive had out of multiple cities so far). Steak, chicken, salad ...delicious in its own ways. The atmosphere and site itself is unexpected, especially if you were to look on the outside only. Filled with cross wooden beams that hold it together, you enter a nordiq-esque spot with two fireplaces going. One side is all bar/kitchen and the other side is the dining area. Accessible washroom available and more in the lower level. Great experience overall.
Unique restaurant where we stopped for a quick drink and some appetizers. Friendly staff. Food
If you want your winter blues to go away by having delicious food in nicely warm place, this is the it but make sure to reserve your spot because it is jam packed. We started our brunch with mock tails, health bound was with apple gazoz, ginger, lime, angostura bitters and soda and my partner had a berry light which is blueberry gazoz, lemon, fermented honey, cherry bitters and foam. We set our eyes on pita where I had a scrumptious lamb pita, my partner a falafel pita and our friend a chicken pita. It was filling and an absolute treat. Great atmosphere over looking the memorial park. A must visit gem for every season.
I have not stopped thinking about the fabulous brunch I had at Park a few weeks back, if you haven t been yet, GO! Conor, our server, was so exceptionally kind and fun, he shared true enthusiasm for what he does through our entire experience. Conor, you are such a gem, thank you for taking impeccable care of us! Between the two of us we shared the falafel wrap, shakshuka and the pancake. OMG THE PANCAKE WAS INCREDIBLE, fluffy as a cloud with perfect crispy edges, loved the contrast between the dulce de leche and fresh mint! All of the food was absolutely delicious and interesting, really bright memorable flavours across the board. I ll be back and will continue to scream from the rooftops that Park is a MUST!
Went here for a work Christmas Party. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about the staff and food. The food was amazing and the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. If youre looking for a place to host an event, I genuinely recommend this resteraunt. Amazing. Vegetarian options: They were very helpful about providing vegetarian options and accommodations of allergies and dietary restrictions
Went back to this neighborhood gem last night. Versatile spot, great for dates, or outings with friends. It s quiet, warm and intimate and the service is fantastic. Shareable plates as is the norm in too many restaurants these days but I didn t mind as the food was truly outstanding. Not exactly cheap but the quality of the food makes for good value. OLD REVIEW: Great location and fantastic decor. The indoor/outdoor patio addition is a great idea and very well executed. Its both cosy and natury( ). As far as the food is concerned, we had both some 5-star and some 3-star dishes (hence the 4-star average). The chopped liver sort of gave meaning to the idiom. As much as I typically love chicken livers, this simply wasnt great (the texture was too (dare I say it?) *moist* and rendered the toasted bread soggy - which is otherwise sheer perfection). A lot of the dishes are wonderfully inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine but the use of spices/flavours is liberal at times: the panna cotta style dessert I ordered could have done with fewer garnishes (rose petals, mint, pistachio, cardamom, coconut). The selection of beers and wine will satisfy most, but I wish they served the wine in stemmed glassware, as opposed to the tumblers they use. I appreciate that its a look theyre going for, but wine simply doesnt taste as good out of them. All in all though, its definitely worth the visit. Theres something for everyone: meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans, GF, sharers, non-sharers etc... And I stand by my assessment that Sidewalk Citizen simply has the best bread in Calgary.
We went to Park by Sidewalk Citizen for the first time last night. The food was excellent. Every dish we had was delicious and between four of us we certainly sampled a good portion of the menu. Excellent cocktails as well. Recommend and will return.
Nice and beautiful place, wonderful food.
Ambiance and quality of food is there. Portions are fairly small and service is okay.
Nice place but it is surrounded by druggies and homeless people so its a bit scary.
It s just fine . Service is mediocre. Happy hour menus is lite.
So good
I have walked by this place so many times but finally came here for a work lunch. The food can take some time so maybe not great if youre strapped for time, but the food was so good. The atmosphere is next level its like eating in a garden and the ceiling is just stunning. The prices were reasonable considering location, food, and the experience.
Service is friendly but slow. Id say not a quick lunch. Venue is peaceful and pretty for being right downtown and small. Food was excellent
Great food and relaxing environment. All round wonderful lunch experience
This is a total hidden gem in downtown Calgary. I contacted park to inquire about hosting a wedding reception here. The service and communication from the staff was absolutely outstanding. We were over the moon when we viewed the space in person. The solarium is one of the most beautiful and thought out dining places in the city. The food is amazing. Excellent choice for a date night or a private event.
Went for brunch. The French toast pita is maybe too good to exist. Avo toast pretty great too! Kid-friendliness: Staff was really friendly and helpful with my kid.
We visited at ~4:00 pm on a Saturday and took advantage of happy hour. We tried cod skewers, squid and fried artichokes with wine to drink - all were delicious. We sat on the patio and it was beautiful as the restaurant is located on the edge of a park. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful since we weren t familiar with the menu. We look forward to returning in the future and trying more items on the menu.
Beautiful restaurant. All of the staff are very friendly, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is amazing. We had the steak and chicken skewers which we highly recommend! We were very impressed with how fast the service was, especially considering the quality of the food.
The restaurant looks amazing! All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in recommending items on the menu. Would highly recommend the steak and Gnocchi. Service was very fast.
im astounded that places this nice are allowed to exist in north america. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are vast and delightful. Be sure to ask if youre vegan though. Food : 5/5 |
I thoroughly enjoyed their tabouli salad with goat ricotta. I put tabouli in brackets because it s not really tabouli (more an interpretation) BUT it s tasty and surprisingly filling. They were generous on the ricotta which was laid down as a bed for the cherry tomatoes, cucumber, parsley, and I wanna say shoshito peppers. The salad was very well seasoned and balanced both in texture and flavour. I m super happy that the sever recommended it.
Decided to check the gem in the park and the menu is short and sweet just like my girl. We had 2 pita pizzas, the lamb pizza was delicious but was missing a bit of tangy sauce. The ginger sour cocktail was a treat brunch. We ll be back.
Had dinner with my friends last week. The atmosphere was lovely. The service was amazing. The food was spectacular. Enjoyed it a lot!
I am really hesitating between a 4 and 4.5 stars. It is somewhere in the middle. Some dishes were excellent such as the taboule, cod cheek / tongue, and the squash. Less delectable were the risotto, the meat skewers and the charred vegetables. The vibe is unique and the service adequate. We will likely come back for specific occasions.
Amazing food. Cooked perfectly, flavor is on point. Great staff. We will return every time we visit Calgary.
Tried it for brunch today and enjoyed the patio with our dog. They offered water bowl and little doggie snack from the chef! Food was great, interesting spin on french toast in form of a some sort of pita wrap, but the flavours were amazing, hint of cinnamon on the toast, fresh custard and macerated seasonal berries, very fresh summer flavors. Shakshuka was well balanced and eggs were not overly runny, which I prefer. Only thing which could improve is better selection of beverages, only drip coffee available(maybe latte or cappuccino would be a great option) or something more unique, since their menu is not a typical brunch items. If you want something different than eggs and bacon this is the place to go!
Every dish was delicious, and the menu seems so well designed so that any dish would compliment any other! Beautiful location, and I can t believe it s not lined up around the block for this level of service and gourmet food! Food
Soooo hip. The indoor plants are amazing and I cant wait to visit in the winter.
Have eaten here countless times and the food is excellent every visit. The room has got be the most gorgeous in the city, and the staff are always very warm and genuine. A Calgary favourite!
Love this place so much. The food is always delicious and imaginative and the dining room is so charming and cozy in all seasons. So much more peaceful surrounded by the park than sitting next to traffic on a 17th Ave patio.
Amazing food, however the staff were incredibly weird and moved in slow motion. Multiple times they would just stand at our table or say out of pocket things that made us very uncomfortable. My parents and I were convinced they entire wait staff was intoxicated. Unfortunate, since they have amazing food.
Dined last night and once again, the flavours and experience were an absolute delight. Delicious food in a beautiful setting. The gnocchi and risotto were the best and the squid is a favourite.
The interior of the Park is beautiful. The ceiling really brightens up the space, and I like how there is a patio door that s kept open. However, the service was probably the most disappointing I ve experienced. The hostess was so quiet and straight faced. When we requested a seat that s not so close to the patio door (it was a chilly afternoon), we could see her roll her eyes. After being seated, it took 8 minutes for our server to come to our table. We were never quality checked, and probably could ve walked out on the bill without anyone noticing. The food was mediocre. We got the chia seed pudding, ham khachapuri, and cured salmon. The only item I d reorder is the ham khachapuri. We will not be returning, and wouldn t recommend this place for brunch.
Loved this restaurant. I had a lamb neck wrap. Very tasty, but the meat was not as tender as I would expect. Great service and really lovely outdoor patio.
In August, we celebrated my husbands 80th birthday here. It would be difficult to describe the better than excellent evening that Michal and her crew went out of their way to provide for our special event! When we met with Michal to decide on the menu, she helped us choose what would be best for the kind of party we had in mind. Her suggestions and recommendations were spot on. Commenting on how special an 80th birthday was she truly went out of her way to make the dinner and evening as special as the guest of honour! The appies were delicious, the dinner even more so, and the honey cake dessert the best I have ever tasted. The ambience in the restaurant was wonderful, and the staff succeeded in helping to make the evening perfect. Thank you Michal for an extraordinary and most delicious evening. Without hesitation I give Michal and The Park a 20 out of 10 ! Carolyn Hedmann, Calgary
Wow, this place is a real gem! My husband and I had an amazing time here. We came for dinner, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. We started with pita, dips, and falafel, and they were seriously amazing. The flavors were on point. We also tried the lamb and chicken skewers, and they were cooked to perfection, super tasty. But let me tell you, the falafel stole the show. Youve got to try it its like nothing weve ever had before. We loved it. Were definitely planning to come back. This place left a great impression on us, and we cant wait to try more of their food. Its become one of our favorites, for sure!
Beautiful atmosphere with a gorgeous architectural space. The food may be the best dining experience we have had in years in Calgary. Fresh, delicious, colourful, family-style Mediterannean dishes. Highly recommend the babaganoush and labneh with pita. Will definitely come again!
Had a great experience here, Chef Peter took care of us with great care. It was my second time there and each time I took a gamble with my food choice. Im happy to say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, presentation and taste of every dish.
Service was great, food was just ok.
Wonderful place to eat. I really liked the group sharing format of this restaurant. Enjoyed an excellent birthday dinner for 6 and everyone loved it. Thanks to all the great team!
This place is super cute, the food is really good an flavourful and the staff is super friendly! Very unique experience, it s nice to come here with a small group.
The food here is exceptional; the service is outstanding; the atmosphere, sublime. Everything about this restaurant is superlative. If I could give six stars, I would.
My partner and I decided to book Park by Sidewalk Citizen for our wedding reception this past fall, due to being familiar with the location which is located inner city within a beautiful park. We were looking for an intimate environment with warm and friendly service that would help create a lasting memory for our closest friends and family, some of who travelled from overseas. All our expectations were met and exceeded thanks to the amazing staff at Park. The food and service were incredible, the atmosphere and energy were warm and classy while completely unpretentious. It was a magical and unforgettable evening from start to finish. We recommend Park for a casual brunch or dinner date night, but if you are thinking of a small reception in the 60 or so person range, and are hoping for a special place and team to create unforgettable memories, this is a venue we would suggest you consider. We have absolutely no regrets about our choice, and were floored by the kindness and positive energy of everyone involved. We extend our sincere thanks to all the staff who made such a magical night including the servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Special thanks to Kriya, our event coordinator, and Michal, the owner, for being so kind and accommodating. We could not have asked for anything more. We will never forget our wedding day thanks to you all. We truly love this wonderful and special place!
Such a relaxed atmosphere. Food was exceptional and our waiter, Conner, was awesome! Will be back soon
A warm, cozy & romantic space. Inviting staff with great recommendations. The kitchen team is amazing and the chef seasoned everything perfectly. All the food was delicious but the falafel, the squid, the risotto and the lamb sirloin stood out above the rest. The desserts are to die for, make sure you get your own tart as you wont want to share!
Great food, Exceptional customer service! Felt good after the meal. Food
The interior was nice but the food was expensive and not worth it. It didn t taste good. They charge you for hot sauce
We dined here for the first time this past weekend and will say we found our new hot spot for brunch!! We had the tabbouleh, the ham khachapuri and the fried chicken pita. Everything was so delicious and flavorful but the breads stole the show for me. The atmosphere is amazing, and the service incredible. Connor was very inviting and kind, helpful to a newbie who couldnt decide and very sweet. We will be back 100%
Had an absolutely fantastic lunch at Park by Sidewalk Citizen with my social group. The food was amazing, especially the lamb doughnut, which was the special and truly phenomenal. Our group, which explores different restaurants monthly, unanimously loved our dishes. The cozy and bright atmosphere added to the unique experience. Special shoutout to our server, David, who was incredibly welcoming, provided wonderful menu suggestions, and was attentive and quick to accommodate all our needs. The service was simply wonderful! Additionally, the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, making it easy for our group with one guest in a wheelchair to move around and use facilities. We would highly recommend Park by Sidewalk Citizen well definitely be back!
If I could give six stars I 100% would. After living in Calgary for 1 million years, I have never tasted such impeccable throw down. If your looking to be satisfied look no further. Start to finish every menu item we chose exceeded expectations.
Great meal! We recommend any of the pita wraps. Friendly service and charming location.
the food was absolutely amazing and the employees were so nice. would rate this place 10/10 if i could. conner was the best!!
This was a great experience! Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. Will come again
Chose to eat here while visiting Canada. The food was amazing and the service was also amazing. Thank you!
The food is excellent but the real winner is the service. This place is legit. Really appreciate the great meal. Thanks again to everyone
Forgot to review when I was in Calgary but they definitely deserve a 5 star review. Their customer service was phenomenal! My friend and I had brunch and our server was so sweet and gave us her recommendations. I tried the french toast it was amazing!!! Definitely worth a visit if you haven t tried and I definitely will be back!
definitely the place to stop if you re in the area!
really good brunch and pleasant staff! 10/10. Connor was very friendly.
Connor was great!
Whoever came up with the lamb arayes is a genius!
I was disrespected and ignored by 3 different employees. The prices are outrageous. And the food isn t even authentic
This food was disgusting it had mold and one of the employees stole my wallet and claimed it for himself when I tried to take it back he called the police and they arrested me Wheelchair accessibility: They yelled at a defenceless elderly woman on a wheelchair
The food I had gotten was badly made and tasted bad. This is to be expected when a restaurant steals dishes from other peoples culture and claims it as their own.
The atmosphere is open, airy and unique- and very welcoming. Our party of six ordered various brunch selections and we were all delighted to try some new and different (to us) offerings. As I post this, I d seen a couple of the most recent scathing reviews, and I m more than a little suspect of their content.
Great falafel, two fire places, excellent vibes
Atmosphere was nice but the food was disgusting
Hidden gem in Calgary. Highly recommend going with a group and sharing a number of small plates.
I had amazing experience, the service was outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and has a good atmosphere and good music is playing. I highly recommend on sidewalk to anyone, Can t wait for my next visit.
This is a gem of spot in a beautiful park setting. Highly recommend the fried chicken wrap or the smoked salmon for a very tasty lunch.
Loved it! Great atmosphere. We loved thr food. Definitely coming back. If you happen to be there dont miss the bread and the grilled cheese!
My absolute favourite spot! The food is always so fresh and delicious! Great service and by far the BEST sourdough bread in town!!
Wow I had an amazing time! I ate the falafel pita wrap and it was so tasty, the best I ve had in a long while. The service was excellent and everyone was so nice, can t wait to come again
Dietary restrictions: Good Food
Visited the place a few months back. Wonderful restaurant, great food. Owner and staff were kind and professional.
Really good!
absolutely recommend! beautiful place with delicious food, wonderful service and great atmosphere. Ill certainly be back.
One of my favorite restaurants The owner Michal ,is really nice and makes sure everyone gets great service and delicious food Their service, quality ,and freshness are the best We live going there for dinner and enjoying the tasty Israeli and Mediterranean dishes from their rich menu The falafel us fresh and yummy, and they serve Lahmajoun. We always look forward going back
Really nice vibe and ambiance, food was delicious as well. Portions were quite small, is the only downside
I popped by for a late solo brunch on a Sunday afternoon and was not disappointed. The friendly staff set me up at a corner table next to a festive Christmas tree and I enjoyed the view of the dining room. Really cool design/architectural work done in this space, I can see why its popular with wedding groups and parties (I live a block away and walk by frequently and see it closed off for private functions). For brunch I opted for the Cured Salmon (cream cheese, cucumber, dill, heavy rye), it was a very hearty serving, fresh and delicious. The staff really add a great vibe to this place, theyre approachable and super friendly.
Had an awesome brunch experience here. Its a pretty small space, very freshly decorated with lots of outdoor views, feels nice and intimate. We sat by the fire and it was very cozy, and casual in the best way. The food is Mediterranean, I think? The freekeh was so so good and I will be back for that dish alone. So many festive and fun looking cocktails that I regret not trying. Would 10/10 recommend.
We held our office Christmas party at PARK and it was amazing!! The food was incredible and our entire team, of very discerning influencers, was VERY impressed. We also worked with PARK to create custom cocktails and it blew everyone away. I cant picture a better venue for a private event and would love to do one again in the future! Highly recommend them for office parties, private gatherings, or even small weddings!
Breakfast sandwich is the best!
Gratuity was included in our bills but the server, Oksana, didn t say anything so we all ended up double-tipping her even though the service wasn t that great. It seemed really devious of her to purposely not mention that gratuity was already included.
The food was good/decent; however, my experience was tainted by our service. Our server Oksana was not great. We were a group of six and despite me making eye contact with her and indicating to her that I needed assistance a few times when she was at our table, she didnt actually come. When she finally came to bring the bill I told her I have been waiting to ask for a box. She then messed up our bills. As someone who dines out frequently, my experience has been that when gratuity is automatically applied to your bill, the server will let you know. She did not and many of us double tipped her for a total of 36% which she certainly didnt deserve. As someone who has been a server, I found that behavior to be quite devious.
The worst dining experience i have ever had in Calgary. Spend over 1 HOUR waiting for our first appetizer to come, and then spent another 30 minutes waiting for the second appetizer, and another 30 waiting for our entree after that. Fought the urge to stand up and walk out. Food was flavour overload with all the wrong flavours. Stuffed chicken wings and baked feta were almost inedible. While waiting literally hours for our food, I was watching the 2 young chefs that were working that evening text on their phone for 10 minutes straight while there were countless tables getting fed up with the wait time. I repeat, there were only 2 staff in the kitchen working while there were 10+ tables waiting for food. Not to mention, kitchen staff were not wearing their masks. Was really looking forward to dining here and left very very disappointed.
This place is extremely slow, took an hour to get our first dish(two skewers), and another half hour for another one. In the mean while, only us and another table in the restaurant. Skewer is way too salty. Do not recommend.
It seemed small from outside but it was actually a big place. It s a cozy restaurant with some fire pits around. Some food was pretty complicated taste like in a good way. I enjoyed it. I might come again for lunch :)
Other reviews about the wait time are true. Expect 1 hour to even get your appetizer. Never again for me.
Incredible decor, beautiful cuisine and the friendliest staff. Small footprint filled with character. Easily one of the best restaurants in Calgary.
So-so food, indifferent service. The fried chicken sandwich was ok, but there better ones out there (for example, Sammies on 33rd). French toast was forgettable. Don t order the cocktails, standard and unexciting, especially at the price point.
The food is the most interesting that Ive had in Calgary for a while. The servers are also very good. About the building, youll need to get over the buildings exterior and go inside. On the inside it is nice. Ive been here a few times and Im glad to see they keep changing up the menu.
Some of the more unique and delicious food in Calgary. Great location and atmosphere.
Came here to celebrate a birthday. Food and service were fantastic! Really enjoyed our night here. Thanks Park!
A tad overhyped. It s a modern place for brunch and I felt that their menu is catered to that as well. The food that they have is flavourful, but their menu does not suit my tastes. It s items that seem trendy and unique, but not suited for my palette. For example, I would prefer something that has meat, veggies, and carbs. But none of their dishes include everything, it s either a vegetarian dish or meat and carbs with sauce. There is the salmon item, but I m not a fan of pickled and vinegar flavours. Their bread is very good, I also quite enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. Although the bathroom down the stairs was very dim. Overall a nice place to try, I probably wouldn t come again.
The food was delicious. The service was friendly and professional. The restaurant is beautiful, quiet and cosy. Overall a great experience. Ill come back.
Well thought out dishes with ingredients that paired beautifully. Some of my favorites were the stuff chicken wings, beets and the basil mousse cake. Simply delicious Service was friendly and professional!
Went here for dinner and it was my second time after a pretty good first experience last year. However the service has gone way down hill. It took a total of 2 1/2 hours to receive 5 dishes - one of them being olives. It was 40 minutes before our first dish came out. Notably no one asked how our food was and when each dish came they basically just threw it on the table and left. The portions also did not match the price of the food and I am used to tapas style plates. The pork lettuce wraps were also just plain pork belly with no sauce or marinade and small pieces of plain veggies. Was underwhelmed on most of the night.
Extremely over priced $10 for ten potato wedges $17 for a completely bland fried chicken sandwich, no seasoning on the chicken, and flavourless mayo. Not a place I will be back to
Wonderful food, staff, building. The chef, Scott McKay, has some genuinely original and wonderful tasty food. Definitely going back!
The food was just okay. Overpriced for what it is. I can make them at home for less than half the price charged. The atmosphere was great, location is convenient, architecture is pretty unique and modern. We enjoyed these aspects. The services were honestly not good, it was my first time eating out at this restaurant, and my friends didnt even get glass for water, bills were mixed up, and 18% gratuity was not mentioned by the servers although it was noted on their menu...Yea come on, they make so much for a large sized group, at least they could show nice gestures which they didnt. Some of us over paid the tips for bad services we received. Sorry, I would not come back. There is room for improvement so hopefully the management sees this review.
Seemed so promising because other SC bakeries and restaurant are excellent; but limited menu, rather overpriced items, slow service, tasteless background music, homeless people lounging and camping nearby.
The food is good. Space is fun. It takes a long time to get food on your table. Over 20 minutes for a bowl of olives. Try it out, just not if youve got somewhere to be.
I really wanted to love this place, but I didn t. For the price point it s extremely over hyped, I think they ve lost their flavours by trying to modernize yet elevate a somewhat Mediterranean cuisine. The flavour combinations are not executed well and don t mesh together pleasantly. Park has taken beautiful foods and flavours and have not done them justice. The upgraded Shakshuka with the smoked beans was extremely disappointing, I wouldn t even consider it a Shakshuka anymore; more a bean dish, the smokiness is way way way too overwhelming. The halloumi was decent but the honey really takes away from the cheese itself, it doesn t need the sweetness. Labneh was decent but faaaaaar too sour, a traditional labneh is a lot more toned down and the use of dill and capers didnt do the spread justice . The place has a great concept and a stunning restaurant but the food is just not that good :\
A delightful place for Happy hour! Great music, great ambiance, great food.
The service was extremely slow and unenthusiastic. We had to chase the waitress down multiple times. I m not a very picky eater and neither was my guest but the food was pretty much inedible because of how salty it was. Some of the other items we ordered were oddly flavourless or too sour as well. Last of all, my cocktail tasted more like a 6 oz shot of pure hard liquor which was super disappointing. I m not sure if it was just due to inconsistency, but I don t think we ll be back anytime soon. I was excited to try this place but left feeling disappointed.
Amazing food and a great environment. The design of the restaurant was right up my alley and perfect for a sunny day. Service was not so great. Our server was very short with us, despite us being one of the only two tables in the restaurant at the time.
Beautiful venue and great food
Everyone should go here! Really cool atmosphere, feels relaxed but classy. The food is amazing, it s mezze/tapas style with a solid Middle East influence. Excellent and interesting wine list. Definitely one of the most unique meals we ve had in Calgary.
Awesome place with amazing food Especially the Mezze plate they have for Happy Hour! But the location is constantly, constantly closed down due to private events, which is super frustrating when all you want to do is spend your money on the food they have to offer. I recommend creating an event space specifically for events and having your restaurant open.
alcohol menu is bigger than foods one. ordered humus - industrial and sallty, fried musrooms were cold and old. fried feta - not coated with panco, and when still hot they piled mayo corn and dill. all became a mash. humus is s easy to make, mushrooms must be prepared on spot and hot, ftied cheese should be coated with panco and then its crunchy on the outside and gue inside. the poor food took ages to get to the table. Vegetarian options: there are vegan dishes, but it looks like the cook has no respect for the food. and for the clients.
Went in for a drink or two and waited more than 5 min in the foyer. Decided we should try to go to the bar section instead. Two staff were chatting over the bar, and we asked if we could sit anywhere we wanted. They said, yeah, sure. Sitting at a table in the bar, the server then suggested we sit in the restaurant (we tried!). Leading us to a table, we sat and were given menus. I popped down to the washroom and when I returned, no one had come to take our orders. We waited for another 5 minutes or more, no server in sight. We left. Im not sure why this happened - it wasnt super late, maybe 8 PM. They didnt seem very busy - they were chatting in the bar and there were open tables and folks eating. They just didnt seem interested in acknowledging our existence unless it was inconvenient for them (sitting in the bar where there were no customers). I wont be going back. It was rude.
The food, atmosphere, music and service were excellent. We shared a variety of sm and lg plates as well as 2 desserts and they were all delicious. It s a hidden gem in the park! Went back a second time 6wks later and was disappointed. Toilet paper blowing in railing out my window and waitress inattentive. I had to interrupt her on her phone to get a glass of wine. We were the only people there. Out of all desserts due to upcoming wedding. Guess it is inconsistent
Went for brunch at this place. Food was okay. Service was absolute trash. Christina the manager was our server if you can even call it that. So ridiculously rude. Never came to check on us. Threw our receipts at us didn t even give them to each person just dropped a pile at the table. We had to actually almost yell at her to get the machine as she just ran away from us. Not even a single attempt to be a nice person. Would never return simply based on this server.
Amazing food and pretty friendly staff, but was seated on far side and at a slightly dirty table/area
Such a amazing spot, great food and service. Cant wait to see where this restaurant is headed and all the amazing things that are going to come!
So yummy and good. Food was outstanding and nicely priced. Drinks are really good as well. The staff is very nice. Location is super cool and the inside is like an experience. I recommend this place
The food was delicious, Middle Eastern inspired and definitely different from other places, but overpriced. The menu does not specify what is vegan/gluten free, etc, so it might be hard for people with dietary restrictions to find something. We went on a weekday night, and there was no one else in the restaurant. The fireplaces are very cozy, and I overall liked the atmosphere. I would probably come back.
They have blocked the main walkway through the park with their permanent patio metal walls . Very insulting to the neighbors who use this pathway everyday. The patio barely opens 3 months a year.
Our work hosted our Holiday Dinner at this venue and it was absolutely wonderful! The planning and organizing was very minimal on our end as the staff are extremely organized and helpful. The venue had beautiful decorations and was an amazing event. So accommodating and lovely, would highly recommend!
Great light flavourable food with a middle Eastern emphasis. Vegatable dishes are especially delicious.
Delicious food in an inspiringly beautiful space. Happy hour has all their best food in a shareable format. Also probably one of the best Negroni I ve had in a while!
Absolutely my favorite place with delicious food, professional and friendly staff!
interesting people, some what less service then anywhere I been of late.
Was impressed with the service. It was a long time since someone was paying so much attention to the guests. Christina, Oksana, Shiva, Gideon thanks for our special evening. Scott and Leo thanks for your amazing food, it was soo good, we will be back for your beef.
Park by Sidewalk Citizen is so wonderful and incredibly accommodating! We booked our wedding just over a month out and Michal was an absolute joy to work with. She made sure that everything was well coordinated and prepared even though it was such short notice. Our wedding was perfect and we are so glad we chose to have it here! As for the food, by far some of the best food in Calgary!!! Everyone that came praises it every time I speak to them. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough, delicious food, lovely people and wonderful service. Thank you for hosting our day and making it so memorable!
Wonderful food and exceptional service!
Delightful little restaurant to visit. Food is well done, atmosphere is gentle and pleasent, staff are professional.
NEVER AGAIN !!!! Blekh!! MAJOR BUYERS s REMORSE FOOD IS OVERPRICED AND YET NOT REALLY THAT EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD! SERVICE IS VERY SLOW! SERVING PORTION IS SMALL We came for dinner and ordered the BUTTERNUT SQUASH AGNOLOTTI - feels like rubber with some egg shells crackling in your mouth while you eat it SNOW CRAB TOAST - $30 - an open face toast with little crab meat which I m not even sure if its fresh, the dressing taste like a mayonnaise with aoli ... and most of all it took them forever to prepare our food - while they only have 3 table occupied including ours
Met here with friends last night. It was once again wonderful. I love the building and setting. It s casual but different, special and cozy. Food was great as ever. I love the vegetarian options. And Our server was friendly, efficient and very helpful with menu selections. What s not to love about Sidewalk Citizen.
There are truly no words to describe the epic experience we had for our winter wedding last weekend at Park by Sidewalk Citizen. We had a group of 50 and it was better than we could have ever dreamt. The venue was so accommodating; Michal and Christina were incredible to work with. The servers even put our cake into the freezer at the end of the night to preserve it for us, without us even asking! All the little touches and kindnesses helped to turn our day into perfection. The food was incredible (you MUST get the fried halloumi and lamb skewers as part of your canapés!); the venue was also so dreamy. Many of our guests noted that they felt as though they had been transported out of town for our wedding and we felt the same. It was a hidden gem in the heart of the city. If you are considering a wedding venue for a medium or small sized group, look no further than Park if you want to create a special experience for your guests. It was truly the best day of our lives, we could not have asked for a better day and the venue we chose helped turn our dream to a reality and bring our vision to life. Thank you to Michal, Christina, and the entire serving and cooking staff. We will never forget the experience and cannot wait to come back for dinner soon!
