Join the flock. Dine on eclectic shareables, imbibe an ever-changing drink list, and groove to a diverse vinyl collection in a buzzing service driven space.
Had a Yoyo ma's cello and an Earl Grey marini served up by Jordan. Exquisite. Groovy music. Cozy atmosphere. The perfect hole for pigeons.
Food and atmosphere is great. We had some tasty drinks! The portion on the schnitzel is large and easily shareable. We just got apps and that, and it was too much food.
Decided to try another one of Concorde’s restaurants. This is by far the best! The service was amazing as the server checked up on us multiple times and was super knowledgeable about the food. The hot dog was okay but rest of the items we got were 5/5. Charred cabbage was flavourful and well worth the price. Highly recommend this place.
Don’t be fooled by the outside, this place is a gem! Great style and decor and more importantly, delicious food! Great spot for brunch with friendly service. The in-house sourdough wasn’t my fav, but otherwise a tasty elevated brunch. Would go back.
Came here with a couple of friends. The food was honestly pretty AMAZING! full of flavour and texture. They also went an extra mile with the presentation on some of the dishes. The steak was cooked to perfection, but holy I was a huge fan of that salad: a nice balance of sweetness, saltiness, acidity, plus that creaminess from the cheese and some slight bitterness from the Endive. I’ll be back just for that one salad haha.
We went in for breakfast on a ski trip and absolutely one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Service was very polite and the music and atmosphere is very welcoming. Upon chatting with the chefs (super cute) a little bit as they have an open kitchen (amazing) they offered us a free desert. This place rocks!
Food is amazing! Great atmosphere, feel welcomed! The server is very attentive! My son and I had a fabulous time. He told me he has higher expectations now with dinning out! I don’t know if it was a good thing or not now! 😂
A great experience! We had the prawn cocktail, which was good but I probably wouldn't order it again, it didn't jump out as anything special. Then we had the Beef Tartar, it was delicious and the presentation was perfect. Following that, we had the charred cabbage and again it was awesome, full of flavor. Somehow we had room for the chicken schnitzel, I have never had chicken made this way and it was stunningly good! Finally our server, Justin, was super and made us feel welcome and was very relaxed. He is a real asset that I hope the management appreciate. We will be back!
Came in for some dinner with a friend. Ordered the seafood platter and it was absolutely incredible! The smoked muscles were a real surprise and so delicious. That and the crab were my favourite, but everything was delicious. We also got multiple cocktails and they all had a fun and unique aspect to them. Sarah was our server and she was fantastic! She made our experience so wonderful, giving us detailed recommendations and explanations of each dish and answered any questions we had. Overall fabulous experience and will be coming in again. Thank you Sarah!
I can t say enough good things about this place. The food, staff and atmosphere. 5 stars.
My boyfriend and I had the most incredible experience at Pigeonhole on Friday night thanks to our server Amaris. She was so helpful when deciding what foods we should try since we ve never been there before. We started with the Oysters, then she told us how good the beef tartar was (never had beef tartare in my life so i was a bit sceptical). It was probably my favourite dish of the night. It s served with this amazing sourdough bread. We also got the snow crab toastie and the hasbrowns. and then another round of oysters. Everything was so good as per Amaris recommendations. I will definitely be going back there just for that beef tartare. and i recommend the lil pim cocktail!
Went to 17th Ave location last night. We saw the online menu before going. When we got there it was a different menu. Online one was from 2 menus ago. Needs to be updated. All in all, food was excellent, staff were great. Lovely location. Certainly would go again.
Amazing food, service and wine. Dietary restrictions: Provided celiac options. Food : 5/5 |
Great service. Nice cocktails and awesome food. The staff is very friendly and helpful when choosing what to drink or eat. A very nice establishment.
Went in with some friends to celebrate didn t bother making a reservation because we were across the street and open table said they had space for bookings 15 mins in the future so when we came in we were told they didn t have any space and maybe try again next time then when we left we proceeded to check open table again and it still said there was space after refreshing.
Went to new location in Stephen Ave Place. Food was awesome. Staff were friendly. Atmosphere was on point. Will definitely be back again.
A nice place for a little drink or a quick bite. Downtown price as usual is high but such is life. Its nice when a place at least makes the effort of making the visit worth it.
I really enjoyed this place. I was on my own, so I grabbed an outside table, which was loud with traffic, but less commotion than the crowded noisy inside dining area. Food was exceptional and the wine paired well. My server Justin was very knowledgeable about wine, so it was fun engaging with him.
I had the chicken schnitzel. Its the tastiest chicken Ive ever had.
Jordan she was amazing , she give us a table for 6 people in Saturday night without reservation and she give us her time , THAnks you so much.
We were in town for the day August 31 2024 and the service we received was exceptional your staff was very friendly and accommodating I recommend for everyone to try.
Excellent! We had the schnitzel, oysters, fries and tomato salad - all A+. Cocktails also good! Perfect walking distance to the Saddledome too!
Went out on a busy Saturday night and Justin blew our table away. He was so attentive, charismatic, and truly cared about our experience. Ask for Justin!! The food was also incredible, the atmosphere was on point, and the drinks were incomparable.
Great food, excellent service, highly recommended
Good yummy food, great menu variety for food and drinks. We had a great red-headed server (sorry I didn t catch his name) who gave great recommendations and guided us through. Very helpful and responsive wine team as well - overall a lovely dining experience!
If you have Gabriel you re in great hands. Amazing guy. Great food. Wholesome Goodness
I travel quite a bit across Canada so I have the luxury of trying all types of food. I wouldnt rank this in anyway close to any 3 or 4 star establishment. The food is the issue. Very basic, lacks flavour. I would compare it to a regular or barely average home cook type of food quality.
Best late night Happy Hour in town! Staff are always lovely and the place has a great selection of vinyl records they play throughout the evening. We were greeted by a lovely young man, promptly sat and had amazing service from Justin! Seafood and wine lovers run don t walk!
Fabulous and surprising food. Not a single disappointing dish. Justin the server was fabulous. Full good tips. Highly recommend the charred cabbage, endive/olive salad, mushroom croquettes, beet salad. The orange cardamom mocktail was amazing. So much so the wizard mixologist made a cardamom cocktail for us.
Predictably great!
You could never go wrong with Pigeonhole, food was amazing and service was excellent.
Food was delicious although I wish they had more selection as their menu seemed a bit small with not much variety. They definitely use high quality ingredients. I was impressed simply by their orange juice which tastes freshly squeezed.
The food and the service is always incredible, Justin took super good care of us, cannot say enough about how good the service was
One of my favourite restaurants in the city! We came in for late night specials and had the pleasure of having Justin as our server! He was so beyond knowledgeable of wines and was fantastic company :) (P. S. The earl grey martini is a MUST-TRY)
My partner and I go here too much! It s always so good. We love their late night specialists and half priced seafood and wine. The vibe is great, good music and lighting and the staff is always so welcoming and friendly. Not sure if he is the manager or bartender, but he is sooo nice too! Definitely my favourite place in the city.
Improve the service please. I was ignored the whole time. Treat everyone equal and don t judge. Food was good. Sandwich was not what I was expecting, it looks like a cod burger.
The oysters were amazing
My go to place for late night oysters!! The best place in the city for Happy Hour oysters imo. Highly recommend checking them out and the other variety of food and drinks on their menu :) the service is awesome every time I been there!
We went for Father s Day lunch, getting there they asked us if we would be ok with bar, I asked if there was any table available and they said due Father s Day they didn t have. Once we get into our place we notice the he restaurant is almost empty. Food was fine, however our hot chicken sandwich came with raw chicken. For me this was unacceptable and disappointing, considering being a well known restaurant and not cheap. That s why I m giving 2 stars
This restaurant has been around for a while and there is a reason for that! Above all else our group of 10 were blown away by the service. From booking the large party reso to the night of- we were treated so well. It can be hard to order share plates for 10 people but our server helped us out, accommodating our allergies and dietary restrictions. We had an awesome dinner, everything was delicious. I highly recommend Pigeonhole!
Genuinely one of my favourite restaurants in Calgary. Service is incredible, food is to die for, and the atmosphere is outstanding. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and he took extremely good care of us! From the vinyls to the decor and the music, you truly feel like you re teleported to New York while you re there - it s incredible. I can t wait to come back Parking: There s a parking lot behind the building!
Well, its the Pigeonhole. Tasty, attentive service. Good taste in music too!
By far the best experience Ive had at a restaurant. The atmosphere and service were incredibly. The server had phenomenal suggestions. But the food-- the menu is poised and confident. Never could I imagine a hot dog being so juicy. The endive salad had such complexity of flavor and texture, it was immaculate. The mocktails had depth and flavor that felt as though it was constantly changing. Could not recommend Pigeon Hole more. My standard for dining out has been significantly raised after tonight.
I went for yyc experience brunch for $25 last Sunday. it was my first time at Pigeonhole and I wont be rushing to return as it was definitely not good value. starter: garden salad with 3 pieces of beetroot served in a small side size bowl which made it super awkward to eat. Salad was ok, nothing special just ok main: shakshuka with ONE EGG. It needed salt so I had to ask for it. dessert: kids size soft serve ice cream served in a paper cup. overall: I went home hungry as s mall bawl of leaves, a small can of crushed tomatoes with one egg , and small ice cream was simply not enough food and definitely not worth $25. Do yourself a favour and go with a regular brunch menu. $14 for 1.5 oz Caesar Now service: seemed all over the place, the main was brought to the table within 5 min of receiving the starter. I had to wait 5 min to get salt. 3 course brunch and it was all done within less than an hour.
I recommend the dog! Service from Eva was impeccable, great reco list! Regulars seem to love, bathroom soap smells bougie! Food : 5/5
My partner and I celebrated her birthday, and we had exceptionally amazing service by David. The atmosphere was stunning, the restaurant was quite busy and nothing suffered due to that. Amazing work, thank you for the amazing evening.
My partner and I came here for my birthday dinner from out of town. One of the best meals/service I have experienced in a long time. We were warmly greeted and sat at our table (next to the record player which made it feel like home) and since they knew it was my birthday, they brought over a glass of cava. Very thoughtful. We had two servers, who were the perfect mix of professional, knowledgable and personable. One of the best service staff I have experienced (including Michelin-starred restaurants). We ordered many dishes, that came out in such a complimentary schedule. It was all delicious. Trying to choose favourites is hard, but the oysters, mushroom croquettes and that pudding chomeur are a must. Cocktails were also fantastic and interesting! Ive recommended it to all my friends and cant wait to come back to Calgary for another meal! Thanks for being the highlight of my birthday weekend! :)
Service was extremely attentive. Food was the best the whole trip. Extremely well priced for the quality of food. Staff were extremely knowledgeable about dishes. 10/10
Pigeonhole in Calgary is a fine dining experience in culinary ingenuity and delight. The menu is rather limited and some items are quite pricey so this may not be the place to bring the kids, but incredibly enough they do have a hot dog on the menu. I went with the Stracchiatella & Grilled Radicchio- an absolute flavor festival- along with the Grilled Broccolini and Cheese. Both were fabulous. Service was excellently attentive and quite helpful. Very much recommended.
Don t have enough good things to say about this restaurant. Food was unreal, the service was better. Thank you so much for a great evening.
Great service, our server was knowledgeable and suggest great food and drinks. Would come back.
Hot dogs and wine ! Best combination. Taylor was great and so was the host (didn t catch her name but she was blonde)
Very cool place. Family style dining worked great for us, a group 10. The food was amazing. Really cool combinations and new foods I hadn t had anywhere else before. I really liked their beet salad, duck legs and chicken schnitzel especially. The service was also excellent. The server made great recommendations for foods and portion sizes and it turned out perfect. Will definitely hit it up again when I m in Calgary.
Great late night spot. Was here for buck a shuck oysters. Enjoyed the hotdog a lot. The charred cabbage is great for sharing
I was here a few weeks ago with my co-workers. There was about 10-12 of us. Connor and his staff were amazing!! I called Connor ahead of time with not much notice before my reservation to ask to get the tables switched around and he accommodated it without any issues. My coworkers were pretty rowdy but the service was fantastic all night long. The food was delicious and the drinks were also great. We will now be coming here every year when we come back to Calgary! :) Thanks again for such a great experience.
Came here to celebrate an anniversary and the staff made it so incredibly special for us. Not to mention the food was DELICIOUS! I would recommend trying the mushroom croquettes or soft serve sundae, the sundae was unexpectedly delightful. I feel horrible as I don t remember our servers name, but her service was genuinely amazing. She was knowledgeable, attentive and kind. Thank you for a fantastic experience, we will be back!
Really good food, pretty sub-par martini though which was disappointing
Late night here is pleasurable! Impeccable service by Eva, food and drink spot on. Good energy in the rooms. Brunch is great also!! Chef Merritt is amazing.
Get cabbage it s fire I d come back for that cabbage
Ok let me start with food first it was awesome tasty and surprising in a good way! Service was elegant and the server Grace was amazing! We were there for the last Friday of 2023 and they made amazing memories for us! Highly recommend!
Took my family for dinner. The beef tartare was excellent. My wife also really enjoyed the cavaletti. When I ordered the steak frites they never asked me how we liked the steak. I had to ask about it later and they said they usually assume it would be medium rare (the right choice), but my wife likes it a little more well done so we asked for medium well. They didnt put up a fuss and were very accommodating. The steak was excellent despite the small delay but I think itd be prudent to ask just in case. The ambiance was good, and the staff were very courteous.
there was a group of 6 of us and half had the steak frites, which is perhaps the most expensive steak frites i ve seen in the city. Surprisingly our server did not ask how we liked our steaks cooked, and they came out very rare (and i like my steak on the rare side, but it s bold to make that choice for all the guests). the steaks were pretty gristly, and were difficult to cut through, though the portions of the steak were large. others had the burger, the cod sandwich, fries, hashbrowns, the charred cabbage, and bib lettuce salad. I d recommend the cod sandwich, the cabbage, the fries, and the hashbrowns. the burger was fine, nothing too special, the bib salad was the same (why is a plain hamburger with cheese and no sides $18?). Music was a bit loud in the restaurant for dinner conversation, but not horrendous. The cocktails were the real winners of the night, very tasty. Our server was also a delight, very friendly and knowledgeable and checked on us regularly to make sure everything was okay. When she saw my friends hadn t finished their steaks she asked if everything was alright.
PIGEONHOLE in Calgary is like stumbling upon a foodie haven where good vibes meet incredible flavors. The place rocks a chill yet trendy vibe, making it perfect for a cozy date night or a laid-back hangout with pals. The menu is seriously next level, offering a mix of dishes that cater to every taste bud, from innovative small plates to hearty mains. Whether youre all about that veggie life or a die-hard meat lover, PIGEONHOLEs got you covered with a menu thats as diverse as it is delicious. But what really makes PIGEONHOLE a standout is the vibe. The staff isnt just serving up fantastic dishes; theyre your foodie friends, dishing out recommendations and making sure you feel right at home. Its not just a meal; its an experience. So, if you find yourself in Calgary, do yourself a favor and hit up PIGEONHOLE for a chill atmosphere, killer flavors, and the kind of service that turns a meal into a memory.
What a great experience this fine place is. Took my girl to shag for a hair cut with the famous Rory hill and then here for dinner. The beef tartar was unbelievable!!!!
As someone who has worked in this industry and has been a huge supporter all my life I must say, you would be foolish to skip Pigeonhole. Being from Toronto I fail to see how anything Ive had back home even compares to what I just experienced here. We started with two glasses of cava, six oysters and the scallop crudo - beyond excellent. The crudo is served with macadamia nuts and a chili lime vinaigrette, impeccable. The details in the lighting, the ambience, the plateware down to the cotton/linen napkins made it for me. Next was the Wagyu beef tartar and the tomato salad with a bottle of French Trousseau. To describe this course as delicious would be an understatement. The balance of the wine and food, based on our server Justins recommendations, was beyond compare and provided us an amazing meal for sure. As if we werent already impressed, we shared a main course of the duck legs. If you arent scared of a game bird, I strongly suggest this main. Not only is it delicious, the pairings are hearty and well balanced. We finished the night off with some Amaro Nonino before calling an Uber to bed, I have rarely been this satisfied from a meal and anticipate the next time that I am. Thank you Pigeonhole.
Good food. Excellent service. Great atmosphere/ambience. Thank you so much, Grace! You were fantastic.
Good service and nice atmosphere. Food were bit over seasoned but overall not bad. Wish they have more layers of flavour, and their dish sizes were bit larger. I like that they don t rush people.
5 starts all around. Best Oysters in Calagry and the best Beef Tartare I have ever had. Not to mention the phenomenal service! We will be back soon!
A cute place to enjoy brunch! I recommend the Berry White and Avocado Toast. My friend also tried the Grapefruit Brûlée.
Had a lovely evening at Pigeonhole. Our bellies are so full they are going to burst. Our server Gabriel had exceptional service. Never let a water glass go empty and was great conversation. Food portions were huge.
We had our last meal before heading to the airport at pigeonhole. Made a great ending to our trip. Defiently will be a go to when we move out there. Tried a few things, everything was excellent. Favourite was the duck legs a must try. Great choice of wines and cocktails. Service was amazing. Lachlan and Joe really made our day. Thanks for putting up with us especially the wife. The shirt you sent us home with was very nice. If that dish we thought up gets on the menu, please send me a pic of it on the menu that was a riot but delicious especially with the bubbly. This place is a must if your in Calgary. Thanks again guys, see ya soon Cheers
Pretty cool place and the good is decent too :)
Pigeonhole made room for us when we didn t have a reservation despite being very busy, and every staff member we interacted with was lovely. Really great service all around, great atmosphere and energy in the restaurant The food was outstanding. I wish I could get the recipe for their chicken haha. We hope to go again soon
The food and drinks were excellent and Justin, our server was wonderful as well!
Ive been to alot of restaurants in Calgary and didnt under stand the hype. The food was ok, the schnitzel was not schnitzel since it was just a thin piece of batter over a full chicken breast and not flattened chicken . Service was slow, in attention and often running the other direction when we made eye contact. At least the drink menu was good.
Came here for a night out. On this occasion, we started with the mushroom croquettes and the charred cabbage. Both were very tasty. The croquettes were very crispy and the cabbage had a nice creamy & cheesy sweetness. This was followed by the little mac burger (it is like a fancy big mac from McDonalds), ricotta dumplings (a light lemon freshness to these soft dumplings), chicken schnitzel (crispy sour dough skin with tender chicken and the gravy was light/not too salty), and crispy hash browns (crispy on the outside, soft & smooth on the inside and pairs well with the truffle sauce). I would recommend every one of these! Definitely will be back for more!
we had an amazing valentines day at Pigeonhole loved the vibes, the food was spectacular, and the staff spoiled us to death shoutout to Lauchlin for taking care of our every need and giving great recommendations and a big thanks to Gabe for making every drink with love and care we are looking forward to coming back!
We loved eating here! The charred cabbage is amazing!
Amazing place to visit, great location and excellent staff.
Cool place for lunch ! :)
Went for my husbands birthday with friends. The music is incredibly loud. It felt a bit like a nightclub. We had the worst table in the restaurant and were also seated next to a large party of 15 people. The furniture felt like it was purchased from IKEA. Some of the dishes were awesome including the scallop crudo and the mushroom croquettes. The rest of the dishes were OK. Service was nice. On the whole very disappointing. I have to wonder if other Concorde Group restaurants are similarity overrated.
One of my favourite spots! Had an excellent time at the bar a few weeks back. Regrettably, I can t remember our bartenders names, but two lovely gentlemen took great care of me and my friends! I had the tastiest Manhattan I ve ever tried alongside some truly personable, prompt, and personalized service.
Amazing pancakes
This is a nice place but... Yeah here is the story. The outside looks a little sketchy and dirty but once you get inside, you see the true beauty of this place. The ambience is really cool. I love the brick and mortar feel with its red chandelier as a pop of color and statement piece. Its like stepping into a place where time has stood still. Our server was great! He really took care of us and made sure that we were enjoying our time there. No matter how busy he was he made sure to stop and see us. He knew the menu well and made some good suggestions. A big thank you to him. Sadly, there are some big downsides. There is not a lot of options especially for those who love a vegetarian fare. I didnt see a whole lot of items for anyone who has other dietary restrictions either. So that is a reason that I docked it a star. Now here is another reason why I docked it another star. For what we got, it was sure expensive. Yes it was delicious but it costs a lot of money to just have an egg on some toast with a little cheese foam. Then there was the eggs, toast, and salad that my friend had gotten. Again it was lovely but to have to pay so much for that ($20+) just doesnt seem right. This is the kind of thing you can make at home and not break the bank account. All in all, this was a pleasant experience but a person sure has to pay for it. Frankly, if I have to spend a pretty penny for my food, I would want something that I would not be able to make myself. It needs to be more elevated and unique.
I went for dinner on the 17th of March and I cant stop thinking about the experience. The server was top notch, best in class, could be an Americas Got Talent finalist. Im pretty sure her name was Grace. I went for my birthday with my mom and my sister. The grilled cabbage was so damn good and the fact that there is the 33 acres mescal gose on the menu is amazing. The service though.. give that server a raise.
Amazing job accommodating dietary restrictions! Love it here!
My partner and I dined in here last Friday and had a wonderful time with excellent food, top notch service, and good vibe. Recommended dish: Wagyu beef tartare Recommended drink: Hakuna matchata (free of spirit)* *contains pistachios Food: We tried the 2023 YYC food & drink experience menu and every dish was delicious (we tried EVERYTHING). I have never been a fan of grapefruit or olives but eating here has changed my mind and inspired me to try new flavour pairing. The Wagyu beef tartare was my favourite dish (available in their regular menu) in which the taste was expertly well balanced (salt, fat, acid, bread vs tartare ratio) and opened my appetite for the second course. Both the Alberta trout and white lasagna were tasty, especially the oyster mushrooms in the lasagna... the more I eat, the more I craved! Critique: while both the trout and the lasagna tasted great, I find them too much on the fat and perhaps including an element of citrus would help elevate both dishes and make them easier on the stomach. Both desserts were good. Loved the oat crisp in the roasted caramel apple. Loved the dark chocolate juniper ganache with medaleines. Loved that both were not too sweet, which is a common issue with desserts. The Hakuna matchata (drink) that we ordered on the side was nutty and refreshing. I would highly recommend matcha lovers to give this a chance. Service: Excellent! The staff were informative, friendly, and pleasant. They made us want to go back again. Atmosphere & decor: Good music. Unique decor. The lighting was on the dimmer side to set for a warmer and lay back atmosphere, which I adore. One concern I have is that the rest room is only accessible at the upper level, which may be an issue for those who have difficulty with stairs (i.e. wheel chair accessibility may be a concern). Wheelchair accessibility: One concern I have is that the rest room is only accessible at the upper level, which may be an issue for those who have difficulty with stairs.
We received the absolute best service EVER at Pigeonhole. Myself and two friends were in Calgary for the night and our friend who lives locally set up the reso for us for my bday. The ambiance was great and the food was delicious. The standout of the evening, however, was our amazing server. I m so regretful for not remembering her name, but right from the start of the dinner she was so friendly and accommodating. Right away she wished me a happy bday and treated us to all to a lovely glass of Prosecco. The lights in our section were flickering and she did her best to handle it. She came around often to check in and was full of knowledge and great recommendations. We were even treated to a small sampling of a summer drink they were testing out! Such a great experience. The food was amazing and the service even better. I highly recommend checking it out!
Was excited to try the place, having been recommended by a close chef-friend. I was there to celebrate a special occasion with my S/O s mother. The service was nothing extraordinary, but I can understand that as it was busy. The atmosphere is what I liked most and their brunch drinks were good. However, after sharing a couple of decent appetizers, I had the worst avocado toast of my life. Maybe I had a bad order, but it was foul. Avocado was too heavily salted with no other seasonings on a single slice of bread that became soggy almost immediately. My SO s mom had a different item which I tried, and although it was better, it was fairly plain in terms of flavour and was over seasoned as well. We only tried savoury plates, so maybe the sweet dishes are better The presentation of our dishes and drinks were great, but the taste was
Came here during last years calgary stampede. My boyfriend and I were celebrating his birthday and an anniversary. The servers were so kind and gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne I believe it was. Our server was great he knew a lot about the menu and the food was incredible. Will definitely return next time we re in Calgary. The quality of the food and service is definitely worth every penny.
Excellent tacos, service and atmosphere. Will definitely visit again!
Great little place. The charred cabbage and the steak tar tar are divine! Great service, great location and nice vibe. We were there for brunch
We came here for brunch for a friend s birthday as a party of 5 on Saturday. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming even when it became busier around 12-1. It is on the pricier side for brunch, but given it s on 17th Ave, it s not unexpected. We waited about 30 minutes for our food, which felt a bit long because we came around 30 minutes after opening when it wasn t as busy. There were many customer designated parking spaces around the side and the back which is appreciated, but it s a bit hidden so I recommend visually identifying it on Google Maps beforehand. If customer parking becomes full, street and neighbourhood parking is easily accessible. I saw a few kids come in, so I would say it s great for the entire family. I ordered the Heirloom tomato toastie, which was $17 and $8 for fries, which weren t particularly special and are probably the same size as a medium fries from McDonald s. The food menu was quite small. In hindsight, despite the food tasting good, I feel as if I could ve gone elsewhere for better value. However, I would recommend this location for special occasions given its easy accessibility, parking, great atmosphere, and wide selection of drinks.
A wonderful spot for either dinner or appetizers. Cant beat the vibe and the friendly team.
Excellent food, excellent drinks. Great serving staff as well. They are very attentive, and I never found myself wondering where our server went. The atmosphere is really good, though they play some odd music. In total, its a fantastic spot to grab some great food or even to pop in for some drinks.
Back again, food is fantastic, visit after visit after visit! Tuesday night $1 oysters and 1/2 price bottles of wine is a no brainer! Not to mention the incredible steak tartar and blackened cabbage!
A fantastic experience! The food is gorgeous so the service. The wagyu beff tartare is to die for.
Outstanding food and awesome service. The small plates are just perfect.
One of the best spots in the city, and quickly becoming my local haunt. The late night happy hour on the weekend is incredible - good vibes, fun music, flowing wine, and lots of oysters. As if that s not enough, their tartar is among the best I have ever had, their brunch is delicious, and the service is always top notch.
This is a good place to go if you have a group. They offer small and large plates which are great for sharing in a group.
Massive fan of this place. Service is always exceptional without being overbearing. Food is always amazing as are the drinks. Love the touch of having records played by the staff. Probably my favourite place in Calgary!
We didn t love the cheese on the roasted cabbage, but the burger and breakfast were good! Definitely more on the expensive side but the decor and vibes were great! Also we were not the biggest fan of the dish towels napkins
Lovely place, filling breakfast, amazing service
Food and drinks are amazing. Would definitely go back
We had the hamburger with fries, mushroom croquette and Pancakes. The croquettes and hamburger was very good but the Pancakes were too sweet for us. The service was very friendly and fast and the place very nice and clean. Only problem I had was how close the seating is. We didnt feel so comfortable and felt like we had to whisper between the 2 other couple dates next to us. I dont think I would come back unless I was in a big group and we can get the bigger stand alone table.
Amazing tasty beautiful fresh food!! Highly recommend. All the food and desserts were incredible and Justin was an amazing server who took care of us! Thank you Pigeon Hole!!
Amazing food. Fantastic service, probably one of our best experiences out in a long time. Attentive server. Checked on us often. The table beside us had the chicken schnitzel and it looked amazing. We got the halibut instead. Great experience. Would recommend!
Came in for a wedding dinner and had every one of the small plates plus oysters and shrimp. Every single thing was outstanding, but my fav was the wagyu tartare. Wine and cocktails were also terrific. Will be back again.
Definitely still one of Calgarys best restaurants. I havent been in ages, but they are still going strong!! I prefer pigeon hole over model milk if you had to chose one in the same building. Parking: Free Parking on Street after 6pm. Plenty of side-street options.
This place is phenomenal. Went here during a work trip and it really made our entire week. Amazing food. The mushroom croquettes were great, and the oysters were a complete surprise. Pricey, but you will not be disappointed.
Stopped here after a day at the stampede. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 apps and a main to share. If you re into non-alcoholic cocktails, they have some great ones here. My girlfriend had the matcha one and winter berry. Both were tasty and a good replacement for a regular cocktail. We had the waygu tartare, the cabbage, and the halibut. The tartare I would come back and get again and again, excellent flavour and very tasty. The charred cabbage came piled high with grated cheddar - why? It was good without for sure. The halibut was good, but the star of that dish is the gnudo it comes with. They were packed with flavour and I would eat a dish of just those. Overall the service was good, but there was a lull between dishes (30-45 min) which was too long if you had somewhere to go after your meal.
Expensive, but unfortunately not yummy. This place doesn t worth to visit
Pigeon Hole is a beautiful brunch restaurant. This was probably the best brunch service I ve ever received! Our server Brennan was kind and knowledgable. Our water glasses were never left empty and our food/drinks came out really quickly. The food was amazing, highly recommend the pancakes!
The Pigeon Hole was a delightful family style experience. The seafood platter, charred cabbage, and steak frites were all delicious and fresh. The mango sorbet for dessert was a perfect ending. The exceptional service at The Pigeon Hole deserves applause. The servers were attentive, offering insightful recommendations while giving us ample space to relish our culinary journey. Justin was Justin-credible! Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience. Ps. Today was our second time in one week.
I don t stray from my usual places as I like what I like. Thought we would try something new. WOW, the service was phenomenal and the food, the food was untouchable. We had all of their seafood and was so good so fresh. If you haven t been here you got to try it as this is now one of my go to restaurants. Thank you for everything.
Birthday Brunch at PigeonHole. Sara is very friendly she even sand for the birthday boy. The food was delish and filling. Our table had Soufflé Pancakes, Smoked Mackerel Bene, Atlantic Cod Sarni and the Full Breakfast. The birthday boy was given a birthday shot in toilet paper roll - good funny touch PH. Thank you Sara and Team. Parking: Ample Free Parking behind the restaurant.
What a great experience at Pigeon Hole. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted attentively with kindness, and felt taken care of for the entirety of our meal. We chose to order multiple small plates ( so we could try a bunch of stuff ). Each dish came out beautifully executed with fresh and unique flavour combinations. To say we were impressed would be an understatement. The restaurant has a cool, dimly lit, comfortable vibe. This will definitely be a staple establishment for us. Vegetarian options: There were so many veg options available. Even though I am not a vegetarian/vegan - these dishes still stood out and were not your typical boring veg options.
Such an amazing meal and service. The staff were the most professional I ve seen for some time. We were six people and tried many dishes. ALL were wonderful, esp the trout and chicken. Thank you PH for.a memorable night.
The service at Pigeonhole is the best we ve received in Calgary and everyone works together to get the job done. The food was great! They have Nathan s hot dogs :)
Great ambiance, amazing food and fabulous staff. Really enjoyed the evening.
One of Calgarys best restaurants. Amazing wine list. Super friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable staff. This is one of my favorite places to go for a nice solo dinner, date or business meal.
Gabe is an absolute beauty! The service food and drink is 10 stars
I did not like the dish I ordered. It was too seasoned, and the fish did not seem fresh to me. The service constantly confused the order, and brought something that I did not order. I probably wont go to them again.
Both the food and service here are outstanding, we will be back.
Truly a delight! Loved this place. I went with my wife and a good friend to share some food and have some drinks. Everything was outstanding. The cocktails were delicious and unique, the food was fabulous and the atmosphere was cozy but classy. We collectively thought the music was a bit odd, but were all 40 and up, so maybe it was us. The mushroom croquettes and the charred cabbage were the highlights. I left the restaurant extremely full because we couldnt stop ourselves from eating. Everything that came out of the kitchen and the bar was stunning. Ive already recommended this place to 3 different co-workers today. There are a lot of places I want to try in YYC, but we will definitely be back! Parking: Theres a lot of construction downtown right now, but we found free street parking about a block up
Good atmosphere and service! The food was okay - had the mushroom croquette and some drinks. Will have to give it another try
It s been on my list of restaurants to try for so long. We had cocktails and a few dishes to share. Found the cocktails much better than the food. Atmosphere was great, looks sketch outside but was very nice once you got into the restaurant. Service was really friendly and food and drinks came out quickly as well. So back to the food: Charred cabbage was the best one but it was overly charred of several fully black sections where wasn t sure it was safe to eat, not sure if that s how it normally comes. Scallop crudo wasn t very flavourful, left us desiring more. Crispy Potato Hashbrowns were overfried making them super hard and a bit bitter. The Half Chicken Schnitzel was interesting and came in a thick batter crust (didn t love this) and Dijon sauce. Was a large portion and served with mushrooms and some greens. Overall the experience was okay, at the high price point was a bit disappointed. Maybe would return for drinks.
What a fantastic experience! Gabe went above and beyond and made us feel so incredibly welcome, Connor was truly magical and has a sparkle in his eye that words cannot describe. Jessica brought it to an entirely new level. What was already a perfect experience reached an entirely new level, beyond words. She took the extra care to ensure our already fantastic meal was even better than we had imagined. I would recommend this place to every single human being I have the chance to interact with. Thank you to everyone involved.
One of the best restaurants in the city. The menu changes seasonally and never disappoints, but some staples like the incredible charred cabbage are always available. Great cocktails and drink selection, friendly wait staff and an excellent atmosphere.
OMG....what a great meal. Staff, are amazing!!!
They treated our family like gold for our brunch. They accommodated us above and beyond any expectations. Thank you guys so much for the incredible food and service!!!
Best restaurant Ive been to in Calgary, and a top 20 dining experience overall. Every dish was killer except the hash brown which was very heavy and oily. Hats off to Taylor for the incredible and attentive service.
Fantastic local restaurant with great food and service - I would find it difficult for anyone to be disappointed eating here! Ive taken a few small groups here for business meetings/meals - all enjoyed it.
Enjoyed yet again a delicious meal with friends. This is our go to for beef tartar (best in the city).
My girlfriend and I were shown a great time for our anniversary. Charred Cabbage is always great and the Bone Marrow Crudités and Trout was spot on. Thank you Trevor and team for another great dinner.
I love the duck confit but its no longer on the menu. Please bring it back.
Awesome service as usual. Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Team does a fantastic job. 5 stars.
I feel really bad for giving 2 stars. My husband and I absolutely love the Concord Group. Brigette Bar must be our favourite. We ordered the scallop crudo for $17. It looked like 1 scallop sliced into thin pieces and it was very flavorless. I tasted the basil and some nuts. The chilled AB crudite came out next. The description read bone marrow, but the bone marrow was very inexistent for $18?! It was more like vegetables with a dip that tasted like mayo. When we saw the crispy hashbrown with truffle dip on the menu, we had to get it. I guess $9 is reasonably priced for it. However, I wish it was air-fried. The hash browns were an inch thick and quite large, so deep frying such a dense piece of potato will cause canola oil to sit inside and retain it. It was so greasy that I felt sick after finishing just 1.5 pieces. We ordered the steak frites for $53. It didn t specify what cut it was, but for $53, I had expectations of a better cut. We received a tr -tip. Meanwhile we paid about $60 for a Prime Rib at Major Tom, which was way better. The steak at Pigeon Hole wasn t seasoned, but it had sautéed shallots and garlic on top. With way too much skinny fries with a garlic aioli dip. The skinny fries looked like they were from a bag of frozen fries and not freshly cut. I am so sorry for leaving a poor review. We really wanted to love it after seeing all of the awards Pigeon Hole won in 2015-2017. Unfortunately, Pigeon Hole fell so short for us. We are big foodies and after posting this on Instagram, I had quite a few followers message me to tell me how bland they thought the food was and how it wasn t reasonably priced for what we got. I will say that Grace was such a wonderful and a very sweet server. She is very kind and sincere and took care of so many tables so graciously. She made sure our water glasses were always full. She also took the time to swap out our plates and cutlery each time, so the flavours aren t mixed. We thought it was also frustrating that we weren t able to call the restaurant for some questions. The phone lines werent working. It was also quite cold in the restaurant and we weren t sitting near the window. Unfortunately, we will be sticking with the other restaurants in the Concord Group.
We had a great experience. Our server, Taylor, was a highlight! Great service and delicious food. Will be back.
Great brunch.
Gabe and his team are incredible ! Loved the service and the teams energy. We keep coming back because of the vibes.
Overpriced !drafty atmosphere 30min for a ice tea!
100% recommend! They took very good care of us !
The food was amazing and the staff are very attentive. We didn t have a reservation so they said their only table had a 45 minute window before the next reservation but one dish took a bit longer to arrive and they didn t rush us at all. Lots of vegetarian options and all their food is incredible. Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled veggie options and lots of choices if you don t eat meat!
Love Pigeonhole! Food is always prepared fresh and is full of flavour. The charred cabbage is a favourite and the weekend pancakes are delicious! Wine and cocktail selection changes frequently. Service is outstanding. All the staff are very friendly.
Its always nice to go to a restaurant where the servers remember your face, even though its been a while since youve been in. Justin is that person at Pigeonhole. Great service. Wonderful food. And expertise at wine pairing that goes on forever. Pigeonhole is always one of our favourite restaurants in Calgary because its consistently fresh in its approach to food.
This is one of best hidden gems in Calgary
Had an amazing experience here! The food is a bit pricey, but the flavors are superb and the service was amazing. This is meant to be a shared plate dining experience which is always cool. We started with the scallop appetizer and it was bright and refreshing, lots of flavors going on that contrasted beautifully to the mild scallops. Secondly we had the burrata toast, the pesto on the toast was *amazing*. Finally the sourdough schnitzel with a Dijon hollandaise (it was a little watery but tasted amazing). We also had a bottle of Rosé which was a great pairing with them all. I highly recommend checking them out! Its a lovely ambiance and a staff member even held the door for me when I wanted to go to the bathroom, so cool
Tucked away on the east end of 17th Ave, you will find amazing service, a unique menu, and a laid back atmosphere for some truly tasty dishes. Had the beets, char, and peppers, and a great selection of drinks. Highlights: unique cocktails, great shareable dishes, and laid back atmosphere. 10/10 would dine here again
Came for a bachelorette party dinner and it was perfect! Delicious food and amazing staff. The drinks were a little pricey but the foods are worth it. I havent had beef tartar for sooo long and I loved it!!! Definity bringing my girl friends here!!
Very fun menu and atmosphere. One of Calgarys best.
Been here many times before and always enjoyed the food and staff, but Gabriel made us feel so special going above and beyond for us!
Had an amazing dinner here with some out of town family, would highly recommend. The food is very unique, food that shouldnt work together just does in the best way! Server was very knowledgeable and excellent service. I believe his name was Jamie, or Justin. Great Job!
Stopped in a few weeks ago for a special occasion, staff were very friendly especially our waiter Justin who was very knowledgeable and helpful choosing dishes. Some standouts would have been the schnitzel, pomme puree and the mille-feuille for dessert. The cocktails were creative and delicious, and I did not feel they were over priced like some other reviewers mentioned. 5 out of 5 would definitely go again.
AMAZING food and even better service. Justin was fantastic. The food was divine. Appetizers and main were well-portioned. We were so stuffed by the time our mains came around. Thanks for an amazing experience!
It was lovely. My Grandson & I went on Sunday afternoon. The waiter was a very nice and personable young man. We both are from Edmonton. I would definitely recommend this place . Dietary restrictions: The waiter just asked if we had any food allergies.
Ohhh where should I start here?? We had the honour of meeting the manager Zack and he served us with such a wonderful spirit. The food was so great as well. Their nun alcoholic drinks are not bad -my husband liked them a lot Nice and calm place with lots of comfy energy
Listen here Zach! <- Manager You have definitely made our dining experience one for the memories. The food was amazing, from the Cabbage dish (I know I was skeptical at first but wow it was amazing) to the homemade pickles that have a strong bunch! Lots of flavors just from those dishes. I wish I stayed longer and went there more....oh also their dessert MilFay (I cant spell) was light and sweet and made you wanting more! Thank you Zach for everything and all the recommendations, next time I need to try your sister restaurant!
We love the food sharing idea and that way we got to taste a lot of different dishes. The ambiance was great and the waitress was very helpful in recommending dishes. Loads of vegetarian options too Vegetarian options: There were loads of vegetarian options!
Brunch was good. Taking off a star for the $14 Caesar (drink) with no garnish
It s always absolutely delicious with great and knowledgeable service.
The night started walking into a dim lit room with impeccable style and playlist to set the tone. We were seated quickly only to be greeted with the nicest server in all of calgary (didnt get his name). The food started with mushroom croquettes, absolutely unreal could have eaten just that and been content with the night, but it didn t stop there. We were gifted with the presence of our server with his knowledge of the menu as well as excellent customer service skills. Then came our entrees which included the chicken schnitzel, tomato sando, pomme purée. All being top 5 tastes of my life with each bite being better than the one before. The server then piled all of our plates onto his arm and made rid quick of the the havoc we left behind (dinner and a show). To top it all off we didn t get 1 BUT 2 packs of matches to go. (His and hers match set). Well done, well done. Compliments to the chef s!
Excellent service and amazing food. Never disappoints.
Girlfriend and I went on a date here last night, we had a babysitter and it was the first time we ve been on a real date since .let s just say it s been a while. Gabriel (hope I spelled that right) was exceptional. Very laid back yet engaging at the same time. He answered all our questions, handled our gluten allergy, and everyone that touched our table was great. The hostess also gave us pointers when we asked her for help. Food was great (oysters and mushroom croquettes were as great as our service), drinks were great (the Benedict cocktail has a great flavour profile), thank you for making our occasion the way it should be.
Went for brunch and was greeted with excellent service and even better food!
The restaurant itself is very trendy, bright and comfortable. The staff were very friendly my waiter was very nice, He kept constant eye contact with me, I was impressed. The food was just okay. Not great but okay. I had the full breakfast and although it was plated very nicely, Most of it under delivered. I asked for over easy eggs but they were very over cooked. The hash browns were so incredibly salty I couldnt finish them and lastly the toast was cold with almost 1/4 of margarine on it. I had to scrape it off to eat the toast. The best part of the plate was the salad and the thick cut bacon. I would very much like to come back but will try something else next time.
We came here for our first time, definitely not our last. Gabe, our server, was great and recommended the mushroom croquettes and the cabbage. Both were delicious. We also had the house pickles and crab melt which were outstanding. Can t wait to return.
Great cheap oysters
Food and beverages are just delicious! Service is amazing! I love it
Love this place, food was delicious, had charred cabbage, mushroom croquettes, crab melt and chicken schnitzel. Everything was so good. Charred cabbage is so unique, never had dish like that, loved the creativity. Chicken schnitzel, super tender, the skin was so crispy, big portion too. The crab melt and mushroom croquettes were good too. It s def one of my fav places to go now. I will go back to try other dishes.
The inside is really nice, lots of lighting and a decent amount of space. The food was really good and there was more than enough to choose from the menu. Theres breakfast, brunch and dinner options and I had the crab melt and my fiance had the Coque Madam. We also had fries with garlic Aioli dipping sauce, and the Pork belly and each had a cup of coffee. The coffee was acidic and pretty good, and the food was all delicious. All the food came out pretty quickly as well. The servers were attentive and very friendly. All in all a very nice experience.
Lovely spot! Went in last night and got a lot off the menu and everything was delicious! Highly recommend the earl grey martini, fried cabbage and lemon meringue pie. Don t question it, just order it. You will thank me. Service was A+ and ambiance was very nice as well.
Great place for cocktails and some unique food creations. Service was very friendly and quick. The space was a dimly lit open area which is lively with an acceptable level of noise. The charred cabbage was a standout dish as it was very different, seemingly simple, but hard to execute well.
Super yummy place. All the food was delicious. Great Brunch selection. Nice interior. Vegetarian options: They had plenty of options. Parking: Spots on the side of the building dedicated to the resturant.
Wow, wow, wow! I came here for my birthday dinner and I was absolutely blown away. Dont let the exterior deter you, this is by far my new favourite restaurant in all of Calgary. From incredible tasting food to amazing drinks and recommendations, and exemplary service, I will be recommending this place to everyone I know. Honestly cant say enough good things about our server Gabriel as well, felt like I made a friend while here. Dietary restrictions: I had a peanut allergy and they were very accommodating, and made sure there was no cross contamination as well!
Went for brunch with my partner this morning. There was a mishap with our meal but Lauchlin and the management team were so attentive and charismatic about the situation. They took care of our bill and gave us a gift card for the inconvenience. We ve truly never felt so cared for by a service team until today. We will definitely be back soon to try the dinner menu. Thanks again Lauchlin.
Great place to go for brunch. Great selection of food and great service. Staff is very knowledgeable about allergy and dietary restrictions thus makes it very reassuring to eat for anyone who has celiac, etc. Highly recommend souffléd pancakes for anyone who is gf to try, AMAZING.
An enjoyable experience with a cozy but refined atmosphere. Food was well balanced and delightful!
Based on small plate and atmosphere. Overall 4.5 but happy to give up to 5. Came here to try their mushroom croquette and it was one of the lightest yet delicate and delicious morsel Ive had as a croquette! Mushroom flavours were subtle but paired nicely to the aioli. The cheese bits gave it another depth of umami and salt. Each mushroom croquette was well battered in rice flour and fried lightly to give it a crisp finish. The inside had tapioca to provide it with a nice glutinous texture that contrasted well with the crispy exterior. Easy 5/5. Although may be too heavy in sauce given it was on top of a bed of aioli. Their wine selection is quite good, and the one I had recommended by the staff was delightful. Service was accommodating and friendly. Happy to come back with friends! Great hangout spot.
We went to pigeon hole for our 10 year anniversary. It was very good and the service was top notch. Our server helped us pick and steered us away from some choices that wouldnt have worked for the rest of the meal. Love it
Went to Pigeonhole last night, a friend ordered House Pickles. House pickles aren t pickles but piccalilli cauliflower and pickled eggs. When we tried it we didn t like it collectively. Later in the evening a server/someone in charge of the menu passes by and asks to collect our plates. She proceeded to inquire if we liked the house pickles. We said we didn t (we were polite about it). She insinuated that someone said that the pickles were repulsive . And that she had vouched to put this dish on the menu. No one had said that the pickles were repulsive. We may have said amongst ourselves how we didn t like them. After this point the service went downhill. We did not feel welcome. The event stuck out in my mind as really awkward and unprofessional. Drinks were good. Food was meh. Happy hour after 10pm and was nice but by that point we felt that we were being shunned. This being said, I will never go back.
Great place to just pop in for some cocktails or have a full meal. The brunch is fantastic, and the dinners are always top notch. The food is very good all around! The pickled eggs, duck, tomato salad, and hotdogs are all delicious
It was a great start, the waitress was super nice at the beginning of my dinner. First time at this restaurant loved their Chai milkshake drink really yummy. I ordered the House Pickles thinking they were pickles but unfortunately they were pickled cauliflower and pickled eggs. Order came I tried them but to be honest I didnt like them. I didnt say anything to the waitress but she must have over heard one of my friends say they werent very good. About 20 min later some other lady waitress with long dark curly hair came to our table and asked if she could remove the dishes from our table, we said sure. She then asked what we thought of the House Pickles? I was honest and said they were ok. She then told us that she had suggested the item to be on the menu and that it was new that night. I just replied oh ok. Then she went on to say that she had heard someone had said they were revolting... we just said oh ok they arent very good, but maybe a hit with other people, Just giving our honest opinion. She took our plates. Then our regular waitress returned and she was not nice to us anymore she was quite short and to be honest the mood from there went downhill. Not a great way to end the night. I didnt want to leave a tip but did out of courtesy. Never coming back.....again and do not recommend. Sorry chef and owner maybe hire people who arent so catty. Hopefully their waitress wont be so catty to the customer with respect I gave my honest opinion of the food and still paid for it.
Had been meaning to go for years, and glad we finally did. Lots of good options for sharing. The standouts were the Chicken Schnitzel, which was delicious, and the charred Cabbage, which may not sound notable at all but was fantastic. We were sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendlyand helpful throughout our meal despite how busy they were.
Good but expensive.
Came here for a weekend brunch - best to make reservations or it can be quite busy very fast. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Large list of beers, wines and cocktails. Brunch and lunch range from $15-25. There is a lot of care and quality that goes into the food and its presentation. For those who choose the toast option - it is mainly an open faced toast and it is a thick slice of crunch (much like a stable plate to hold the toppings). The crab melt was extremely flavourful and you smell the crab/seafood components. I would personally recommend the full breakfast or souffle pancakes. The pork belly here was my highlight - texture to flavour.
Hosted our annual Christmas party with them this past Sunday. Our service and food was fabulous. Recommend for a large group :)
