Amazing time. Went for my Sisters birthday and it did not disappoint. She was looking fir a good steak, great atmosphere but it doesnt break the bank. Take my advice, treat yourself here and you wont be disappointed.

Had the 10oz filet. Was a good portion size and always tasted great. Looking forward to the day when they make double baked mashed potatoes without bacon bits.

The meal was really great and the service was out of this world. Carson was the waiter for my table and he was very friendly and made me and my friend s evening. The atmosphere was wonderful and I am absolutely going back there again.

Norm was our server. He did an excellent job! The Keg was super busy but the service never slowed down. Always a good time at the Keg!

We always visit the Keg by Sheraton Au Claire when in Calgary. We stopped in with a group of 7 of us after Black Friday shopping. Monica was our server that night. Helping to create a fantastic night out with great food, great atmosphere, and great service. 10 out of 10, will be going back again.

It seems to always be busy, making reservations a necessity. The food is consistently good, and the service is exceptional with plenty of staff around to assist you. The noise level can be a bit loud at times, but lets face it, some folks are simply louder, even in a public place.

The Keg is an excellent steakhouse attached to the Westin Hotel. Restaurant is inviting, service is superior, and the food is extremely good and priced exceptionally well! Parking: Valet at Westin or there is a parking garage across the street.

One of the great things I like about the Keg is its consistency. The service is always fantastic, often a great atmosphere and vibe, and the food is a solid 8/10. On a rare occasion, the food is sub-par, but 90% of the time, the food is perfectly done. This time, mine was the other 10%, abs it could be because they were so busy. I know theyll be better next time.

I m writing this review with disappointment about our experience last night. My wife, who is seven months pregnant, and I were looking forward to a nice dinner while staying at the Westin for a few days. Unfortunately, our expectations werent met. The service was acceptable, but it fell short of the Keg standard we re familiar with. My wife ordered lobster and steak, and when the butter came out, it was lit only to extinguish moments after the server left. It seemed the burner had no fuel, so the butter sat cold for almost 10 minutes until we could catch a server s attention to relight it. Additionally, the mushroom rice was undercooked, and the food itself was unexpectedly cool. Our server kindly offered to switch the rice to mashed potatoes, which we appreciated. The manager later stopped by to apologize, mentioning the food s preparation but barely acknowledging the uncooked rice issue. She offered dessert as compensation, but honestly, I would have appreciated a partial reduction on the bill. Instead, we were given the full charge and informed that the cheesecake was complimentary. I understand that mishaps happen, but the lack of empathy from the management was disheartening. It may seem minor to some, but watching cold butter and undercooked rice sit there was disappointing and detracted from our evening. In 2024, I believe customers deserve to feel valued and treated with genuine courtesy

We went out for dinner tonight to celebrate our anniversary and it was a great experience. We got the prime rib and the duck. It was fantastic. Our server, Szilamer, made it so much better. He s incredibly personable, kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. After years of disliking wine, I decided to try one out. I told Szilamer what I have liked somewhat in the past. He recommended one for me and I loved it! He was able to find the perfect one based on my taste. They went above and beyond for us. It was just a great anniversary experience. Well 100% be back!! Dietary restrictions: Took allergies very seriously, and ensured food was free of cross contamination.

Last night we celebrated a special occasion at the Calgary downtown Keg restaurant. Our entire experience was exceptional. The atmosphere, food and service were all very good, and the management went out of their way to enhance our celebration. Thank you Keg!

Always a great experience. Been coming here for over 15 years and one of my favorite restaurants. Great ambience and mood here. The food is always top quality. Servers always excellent. Prices are still reasonable relative to other overpriced steakhouses. Never had a bad prime rib here and this last dinner was no exception!

The happy hour special is great! Go for the cauliflower and keg burger!

We were in for our wedding dinner Saturday evening party of 6. Our server was fantastic. I have worked in the hospitality industry in the past so I know good service. Easily one of the best I have seen. Truly has the art of service down pat. I forgot his name but he was a Hungarian gentleman. Kindly pass on my thanks to him

We recently visited and what stands out the best is because it opens for lunch a rarity for most Kegs. I had the steak sandwich, which was fantastic, served with crispy onion rings and a delicious truffle sauce. Our waiter was exceptional very friendly and attentive. He even brought some orange slices and vegetable plates for the kids, which was a nice touch. I also tried the espresso martini, and it was excellent. My wife ordered a salad, which she really enjoyed, and the kids had cheeseburgers from the kids menu, which they loved. The ambiance was inviting with great music playing, and its very convenient if youre downtown. The only downside is that parking can be tricky to find, but its free on Sundays, which is a plus. The fact that they open at noon just makes it even better. Overall, a great experience!

After a fantastic itinerary in Banff, on our last day in Calgary, we visited a steakhouse close to our accommodation. I didnt make a reservation, but there was a table so I sat down right away, and the interior had a luxurious atmosphere perfect for couples or families to come together. I asked the waiter to explain the menu, and Peter explained it kindly and patiently. The food came out not too late after ordering. Prime rib was tender and delicious. Sirloin may be a bit dry for those who like tender meat, but its great with a glass of beer. (Everyone requested medium cooking) The experience may vary from person to person, but I am willing to visit again because it left a good impression.

Double check your receipts before paying cause some servers there are sneaky. She added the 20% tip twice : from the full amount then another 20% to the balance that I paid cash. The manager said the 20% only adds to the amount that is being paid. Thus whatever balance will have the 20% added to it. I say that is complete BS. I have to go there twice cause when I double checked my receipt, it added the 20% from the total amount. Either the server added the 20% again without my knowledege to the balance or their system did it as what the manager claims which is completely wrong. They even justify it by saying they dont have gratuity in place. Which I find irrelevant to my claim. This is a form of taking money from their customer without the customers knowledge. Very classy and elegant place but the conduct of their staff is complete opposite.

I ordered a 6oz piece of tenderloin for lunch. Personally, it was enough. The accompanying bread is also big enough. It seemed like there were a lot of locals, and a lot of people came alone. Its cold outside in October, so I had it indoors, but it would be nice outside in the summer. The service staff were also very attentive.

I had one of the best experiences tonight, the food and the atmosphere were great but the stand out was being served by Jocelyn tonight, she was so personable and made remarkable recommendations. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was great, but Jocelyn truly made the visit worth while and we will definitely be back!

Another Keg that didn t disappoint. The service was excellent and the steak and lobster gratinee were cooked to perfection. The complimentary Billy Miner pies topped off the evening and stressed out my waistline.

Its been a long time (10 years) since Ive dined at The KEG. Everything was great. Ive had better steaks, but these are great too. The dining room was very intimate with low lighting. The KEG is well worth a visit.

Awesome food here ! Our waiter was amazing, made a personal connection with us, super kind, offered suggestions and was very attentive to our needs. We met the culinary chef manager and restaurant manager who both were extremely polite and kind to us as well. Best Keg I ve ever tried easily and would recommend to anyone.

While visiting Calgary we had a wonderful dinner here. Enjoyed the outdoor seating and service was excellent so was the food.

I had an amazing experience celebrating my birthday lunch at The Keg! The steak was cooked to perfection absolutely delicious. As a special treat, I received a complimentary dessert, the famous Billy Miner Pie, which was my first time trying, and it was out of this world! The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was great, and I can t wait to return to this location. Highly recommend!

We visited the keg yesterday to celebrate my birthday. To say I was disappointed is a huge understatement unfortunately. We are loyal keg guests, and Im not sure I would return to this location. The restaurant wasnt very busy and our waiter was doing his best as things were coming out but our table of 6 was waiting for a long time for any of the food to come out. When it finally came out I had asked for medium steak, and it came out so overcooked that my NY steak was not enjoyable. They sent it back didnt leave me with any of my sides, waited again for a long time while the table enjoyed their food only for them to bring it back and not even the same cut of meat - brought a sirloin instead and missing my sides. Sat waiting for what felt like forever again for which at that point I was not about to ask for a third steak. They did comp the steak part of my dinner, but what was supposed to be a fun night out with friends going for dinner and then drinks elsewhere turned into an almost 4 hour keg experience. Friends were yawning and exhausted after all that waiting and unfortunately ended up being the end of the night. The waiter did profusely apologize and he did try to work with what he had to work with, but Im not sure what was happening with the kitchen or management, as this was by far the worst keg experience Ive ever had.

The last few times I have been to the Keg for lunch has been disappointing. Today we had salads and they were terrible. Chewy steak and flavorless wilty lettuce. The server was busy over lunch but she cared less that we were there sadly.

Have been to this keg for several business lunches and team events. For business lunches, the food has always been good, and very consistent. Service is always friend and attentive. Im sure you could get in and out in an hour if you order right away. Even with having a cocktail, normally back to the office by 1.30. For dinner events, the restaurant feels more formal, but the quality and level of service is still good. Ive paid for much more expensive seak experiences, but its hard to beat the value of the keg.

I ordered salmon with garlic smashed potatoes, to be honest food was 7/10, presentation of it was so poor not for what you are getting charged, the place was not clean or looked fancy as you expected. Washrooms dirty and u can t take a picture bc of that :/ Bad service and we received our orders like an hour later. Too dark. If you want to go pretty and dress up this is not your place. If you are in mode super casual and want to spend more than what you are receiving this is for you.

First time trying this location and was not up to par with the crowfoot or market mall location. Kids steak was undercooked and they brought it back to the kitchen to refire instead of giving us a new one. My rib steak was overcooked. Crab was overcooked as well (shell was like rubber). Salmon was delicious and the service was excellent, which is the reason for the 2 stars. Id recommend the market mall or crowfoot location.

Go to this location often and just get our food for takeout usually and everything is always fast and delicious. Today we sat in and it was a different experience unfortunately. The food was still very good which was awesome but the service was disappointing. We went in thinking it wasn t happy hour prices because we sat down at 2:30 but they proceeded to hand both of us happy hour menus so we thought we could order off of the happy hour menu. To only find out at the end of our meal that we were charged the regular price. Our server didn t give us any indication that it hadn t started yet even though we were showing her everything we wanted off of the happy hour menu. Guess at the end of the day it s our fault for not checking the exact time we ordered our food (think it was 15 mins before the happy hour started). I know at my place of work if someone is unaware of the rules or policy we explain it to them before the customer leaves feeling unsatisfied but maybe that s not the same here. Giving 4/5 regardless because I usually have a good experience here and other locations.

Came to visit your establishment July 19, 2024 at 915pm. After arrive we were seated by the hostess. I was really excited to take my friend for a steak here. After being seated for 8 to 10mins not a single waiter greeted us. It s funny how right beside me there were 3 to 5 waitresses talking and being on their phone. No one came to take our order so we left. This isn t customer service. Really disappointed about the whole experience. It s obvious you don t want our business. Dear manage, talk to your staff.

The steak was good. the lobster? Lovely. The French onion soup was atrocious. While the food was solid (besides the French onion soup which was gag worthy), the service wasn t what I expected for a restaurant that is supposed to have class. Our waiter was rude and condescending and gave us many glares. Me and my best friend rescued our girls from a series of broken homes. So we looked like an odd bunch, but that did not warrant the stares that we received from our waiter and the judgement we felt. One of my girls came from a refugee camp where she was subject to multiple hurtful stares, so these glances from the waiter made her uncomfortable. Another girl of mine was a victim of underage drug abuse, as she was exposed to several substances at a young age from her birth parents leading to a crippling addiction. Due to this, she was very uncomfortable with the waiter s scrutiny of our party. The waiter also took our fifty dollars meant to pay the bill as a large tip, despite our emphasis that the fifty dollars was meant to pay the bill, and a tip was already given. He took the fifty dollar bill, along with the twenty five percent tip we had already given them. We had intended the fifty dollars to pay the bill but it was used as an extra tip, resulting in a 95 dollar tip besides the rest of the bill. We were robbed. We come from money and my best friend and I have never felt so humiliated and belittled in a restaurant before. My feelings are hurt.

We were a large group for a retirement party. We were given the back area. It was perfect for our group of 26 . We had 2 servers. They did a fabulous job getting our salads and main meals out at the same time. The Keg helped to make this a special evening.

Poorly treated by a Manager. Not sure who she was as she did not introduce herself. We were rudely asked to leave. Why? Were told that We were taking a table that had been reserved and that we needed to leave. We had not been asked if we wanted our bill nor were we warned when we sat down that there was a time limit on that tiny table in the lounge. Extremely bad customer service, no appreciation for dining there, abrupt and rude manager. Shocking that she treats customers as poorly as we were treated. Not a pleasant moment after trying to unwind from a stressful week at work in what is no longer my favorite restaurant.

I celebrated my anniversary here, and the service was phenomenal. The dessert out of this world

I was staying at the Westin since Monday. We have came to eat here 2x and both times there was tons of staff, at least 3 hostesses, standing there and we weren t greeted not asked a thing until a server (the guys/girls in white) approached me and asked if we ve been helped. I said no and he apologized for them and we got seated this was the first night. We have come in for lunch today and the exact same thing I asked where do we a table she said oh I thought you were just walking through as I m sitting here waiting Anyways ask anyone how you could help them because this is the keg and we expect the courtesy that the Minority get, especially with the prices we all pay to eat here Parking: Parking sucks

Great atmosphere to enjoy an evening out with friends. Serving portions are decent, and the food is flavourful. The sourdough bread is served warm and is very good. I recommend this place, some might think its pricey because of the location, but all in all, its worth it.

Blinds are always all drawn at this keg. Not our favourite. Had to wait 20 minutes for our table. The bacon on the filet didn t taste right. On the upside, our waitress was top notch. Gonna try another location next time. Parking: Parking stalls are too tight. Make them a reasonable size man!

The Keg steakhouse has always been my favorite restaurant. Love the consistency of their food quality. Have been to a few other Keg restaurants in Canada, this one is my favorite! The restaurant is conveniently located in downtown Calgary. Love the stylish modern decor, elegant yet inviting atmosphere and comfortable seating. Service was very friendly and pleasant. The food was delicious and well presented. The steaks were expertly prepared, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. Definitely a top choice for steak lovers! Will definitely recommend and come back!

Went to celebrate a special night alone, unfortunately my steak was super tough and spicy. Had the French onion soup which was delicious and the red sangria which was perfect! Scallop and bacon was good too. One of the chefs came out to apologize for the tough steak which was appreciated. But when I told my server it was tough and spicy he was a little condescending and told me they don t use salt or pepper to season the steaks just keg spice. And well if the keg spice is the same as the one in grocery stores then I know it has peppercorn in it and yes that s pepper. Overall the night kinda ended on a sad note for my special day /:

Classy casual dining experience

We have been there twice and we had the same server both times. The first time she complained to us about her coworkers and about management. We were again there late on Sunday night in the lounge and she was unfriendly and at times miserable. We wouldn t be going back to the Keg.

Waiter was pathetic and so was the manager Waiter listening to our conversation didn t like what we were talking about , so a manager appeared to chastise us , omg Be careful what you say because they are racist. Apparently your conversations have to get their approval

Joe did such a phenomenal job!! We had everything we needed. He went above and beyond. He was super personable and kind. The food was great! Highly recommend.

I came here because I wanted to eat steak. As for the food at The Hotel Restaurant, there were many people eating alone at the table rather than at the bar counter, so it was a comfortable place for a solo business traveler. However, it was clear that they paid less attention to me than the beautiful woman sitting alone next to me. Well, I cant help but deduct one star for the service.

My late Father and I always enjoyed the Keg together. Its always emotional but always an amazing experience. I always feel like we are dining together again after 15 years. Thank you!

We went there for Mothers Day dinner, and received an excellent service. Server, Lana, was caring and friendly. She made us feel special! Food was perfect. It was a good experience. We will definitely go there again.

I went here for a business dinner. It was busy and the vibe was upbeat. I was glad that we had a reservation. Overall I enjoyed my meal here. My colleague ordered their steak well done and it arrived rare. The server asked if we wanted a second glass of wine and we declined, but he brought more anyway (and of course it was on the bill.) We felt like there was too much obvious up selling. Given the amount of restaurant options in downtown Calgary, I might opt for a different restaurant next time.

Shout out to the staff at 4th Ave KEG!!! First of all, Fatma, then Brandon then our amazing server Lana! We honestly felt like royalty! I have never experienced service like that before and Ive been in the service industry a long time. I HIGHLY recommend visiting the Team at the Keg, you will not be disappointed!!! Had a lovely dinner. The steak was done just right. The server was friendly, and it wasnt too loud.

We had Nathan as a server, he was energetic, funny and prompt. It was a delicious meal as always!

Had a late Mother s Day dinner at the keg this evening. The food was tasty and cooked to perfection served on hot plates. The espresso martini was a great way to start my dinner and the free bread is always a tasty treat. What really made this evening special was our server Sarina P. Her enthusiasm and warm energy welcomed us and kept us satisfied throughout our time spent here. She even managed to get us a pie for the table which was unnecessary but much appreciated. She was attentive , friendly and kept the conversation funny and light . I d come back to this restaurant in the future for the food and ambience , but I d hire Sarina any day of the week. Thank you for the special dinner.

While the atmosphere is great and the service is fantastic, the food could have been better. I ordered Salmon and it tasted a bit fishy. Ive definitely had better salmon at other places. Also the portion sizes could be improved. Service however was excellent.

As usual, The Keg doesn t disappoint. Prime rib was perfect, prices reasonable.

My beef (no pun) is that your Keg steak in 2024 doesnt come with potatoes. You want potatoes thats $7 extra. So your average steak dinner, 7-8 oz with veggies, plus mashed potato add-on, is $43.00 including GST! This is due to the Keg being taken over by the Swiss Chalet owners, Cara Operations. It was a sad day when that happened. The Keg experience was great while it lasted.

Just what one would expect from a chain restaurant. Although the Keg chain is a light more upscale than a fast food place. I found the prices high even during happy hour which was so limited in its offerings that its questionable why its even offered. We ordered the crispy cauliflower which was a soggy mess. To me it seemed microwaved and lacked any sort of crispiness. Service was definitely the high point as we were looked after as soon as we entered and during the whole time there. Vegetarian options: Not many

Had dinner last night at The KEG and ordered a filet and caeser salad. The food and service was great!

I spent 2 weeks in Canada and this was the best dish I had during my entire stay, the blue cheese filet. Come try it, its spectacular. The attention is very good. The place is very nice, with the lights very low for my taste, so much so that it was difficult for all of us to read the menu. Reasonable prices

I really loved the flavour of my food. I had the teriyaki salmon bowl. However the salmon was so little. The flavour of the food compensated for this. The service was good and the ambience and atmosphere was very nice. I strongly recommend

The keg 4 Ave is the only steakhouse in the city thats been able to cook me a perfect blue rare steak. Whenever I bring someone who likes theirs cooked normal, they say the same. The service, food and atmosphere is always perfect and consistent. The price is unbeatable to the other steakhouses in the city and they cook it far better.

The Reno is... Nice. The bones of the place are the same and its had a lot of white marble added. The lights are too bright, the chairs still show a lot of wear, and unfortunately the service has gone down hill. Had a super awkward interaction with the bar staff. Cheese toast is still delicious.

We had a dinner for our 8th yrs wedding anniversary here! It was our 1st time to visit in KEG we didnt know that we have to make a reservation but staff is super nice! She asked us to sit and wait for a while! And she managed to give us table. Super nice and friendly server, food was amazing husband enjoyed his steak thou! Thanks

Ordered a NY Strip at lunch ( med-rare) came medium and was very dry and chewy, didn t eat it. The broccoli was hard and cold. Thank goodness the fries were good!

Excellent meal! Superb steak, salad and sourdough bread. The filet and prime rib were perfect! The waitress and service was outstanding as well.

One of our favourite go to places for date night. We have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. Servers are normally very well trained. And we are able to have a conversation without yelling or staining to hear each other.

Visited Calgary from out of town 2 weeks ago and decided to take my girlfriend and her family to this Keg location-- and Im glad I did! Our server, Jayson, took immaculate care of our party; he maintained a professional, yet entertaining manner at all times while also getting to know us on a personal level that left a lasting impression. We were also honoured to have the GM, who knew I was visiting from out of town, visit the table to build rapport and ensure our overall experience was up to standard. Im happy to say that our experience at this location exceeded that. Will be making this Keg a staple for nights out during my next visits to Calgary!

as usual grape food great service. Had a wonderful lunch. The Keg experience here & Vancouver have really wanted me over from trying anything else in Calgary. If I want to gamble in Calgary Ill go to the casino not to 50% of the other restaurants here.

The service was great, high quality restaurant. we ordered prime rib and bony rib steak and both were delicious although I liked bony rib steak more. For the side we ordered garlic mashed potato that was good but I didn t see that it has bacon in the menu and I don t like bacon and mushroom rice that was not good for us but totally one the best restaurants definitely. Vegetarian options: The menu includes vegetarian options as well

We had a great time, Keg is very consistent on food and service so it was a great place to have a cute little anniversary dinner before hitting Stephen Ave. And our waiter, Hamzi took great care of us, was super friendly but very polite in making sure our experience went smoothly. Sit in his section if you can, hell take good care of you

I cant say what the atmosphere in The Keg is, but they sure made my night with a great takeaway meal when I missed out on the party! Everything was delivered to me piping hot, and they even included compostable utensils and thoughtful packaging. . . it was a perfect late night meal. I had the crab cakes, whic were fresh and crisp with a great tangy sauce, a wonderful burger, and finished with the freshest cheesecake with berries. Thanks, Keggers!
