Come experience Canadian flare and handcrafted cocktails at The Shoe & Canoe Public House. Located inside the Delta Hotels Calgary Downtown, our restaurant serves up true Canadian dishes and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Came here for a late night snack. Bison poutine was excellent and tasty. We also had Texas toast with cheese and eggs. It was different but so delicious with mushrooms. The environment was so cool and great place for meetings. Excellent staff work here too. Will come back for $15 lunch- try something new. This is beside Delta hotel in downtown- thanks you for great service.
I stopped in for a lunch meeting and was so happy to find this option. They offer a lunch feature that is served promptly, delicious and this cookie and a latte kept me going all afternoon. Our server was wonderful and attentive. I'll be back for another lunch meeting!
I had the falafel wrap and chips for the lunch special $15. It was a good portion and also included a sugar cookie. We had a table of 4 and server was very good.
Lovely live music playing with this delicious dinner. Staff were very kind and friendly. Food came out hot and tasty. Very chill vibes. I was very comfortably full at the end
Decoration is well done and stunning, The food was okay, I’m not sure but it felt like the burger patties were frozen. The kettle chips were tasty and the beer was fine. Our server was super friendly and professional. I give him a 5 star.
Shoe and canoe was a delight! We went for the birthday experience and it was amazing! I had the arctic char on the house and it was delicious!! The salad was also great with amazing dressing. The service was top notch and the ambiance was superb. Love it! Will come back
Shoe and Canoe Public House provided a delightful breakfast experience during our journey from Banff to Edmonton. Cheryl, our server, was exceptionally sweet and attentive, enhancing our visit with her warm hospitality. The ambiance was inviting, and the food was delicious, offering a perfect start to our day. Cheryl's friendly demeanor and efficient service left a lasting impression, making our brief stop memorable. We would highly recommend Shoe and Canoe Public House to anyone passing through for a delicious meal and outstanding service. Cheryl's professionalism and friendliness exemplify the high standard of service at this establishment.
My wife and I had dinner here for Christmas Eve and it was a great choice. First off you can park in the Delta underground parking for free if you check in at the front counter to let them know you are eating at the restaurant. Next, you don't even have to walk outside to get into the restaurant which is great in the winter. As for the restaurant itself, the service was excellent. Very fast and friendly. The atmosphere was also very nice. Finally the food is very good. My wife has the turkey dinner and I had the vegan forager dish and they were both very good. We would definitely go back.
Food was good, great service by Melanie
A hotel bar. Great service
The burger was excellent. Song and Greg did an excellent job and made the experience very comfortable.
Atmosphere is very nice. The server was very friendly. We ordered Burger and chicken wings. Chicken Burger was very mediocre and seems to have just heated before plating. Need some more though put into the menu. Hope the menu gets better.
Nice pub, the service was great but the menu felt a bit pricey. We ordered the soup of the day and the bison poutine. The poutine was larger cut potatoes, didnt feel like there was much protein and the cheese was over cooked and burnt. Not my favorite poutine.
This is located in the Delta hotel, which meant they stayed open late. it was about the only good thing I could say.
Its just an ok place to meet friends for drinks and food, no food specials. Id recommend visiting other pubs or taverns in the area. Food
Where do I start? Fantasic staff, food, and atmosphere. Leon and the crew make sure you are well taken care of. Everything on the menu looks fantastic (I can vouch the burgers and chicken flatbread are) drinks are delicious! Perfect night out with friends. I will be back!!
One of my favourite places to eat. Great atmosphere, TVs to watch and wonderful service.
I was so impressed with the staff during our recent company conference that stayed at the Delta. They smiled while dealing with sometimes-rowdy, often tipsy delegates and hustled hard morning noon and night. Food and drink were good, but the staff were the best part of the experience.
Had lunch here and the brisket sandwich was incredible!!! Had a delightful server by the name of Cheryl who provided a high level of service!! Also a nice bright vibe!!!Highly reccomend !!
Menu could be better. Limited choices. Kettle chips just seemed like they opened a bag of miss vickies bbq kettle chips. Dined here a few times during our visit. Once for brunch which was painfully slow. Waiter for dinner was friendly and helpful however I could have lived without him referring to me as young lady . I am in my 40s and the waiter looked to be my age or older. I m sure that kind of thing seems cute to say to older women but it truly is not.
We enjoyed the David Thompson Dinner Experience on August 30, 2024. Our host read excerpts from the old explorers book Shoe and Canoe and the theme carried through the drinks and meals. Sharing a table with 9 other people just outside the kitchen was a unique experience. The food, particularly the bison pastrami was very, very good. A great event for food lovers and history buffs.
Their burgers are absolutely amazing One of the best burgers Ive ever had
Honestly was surprised by how good it was. Ive never been a fan of hotel restaurants.
Enjoyable family location, awesome service...fine food....
They are really nice food is good and not to expensive. Cheryl is efficient and tje food came fast.
Highly recommend checking this place out! Food was delicious, service was so fast and they have live music Thursdays! We were there on a Thursday and had such a great time.
Was in Calgary for vacation and went here for a quick dinner! Food was excellent. Lorianne provided us with exceptional service and went above and beyond to provide us with recommendations for things to do in Calgary!
Casual atmosphere, good service.
Christian and Leon were exceptional in their service. The ambiance was incredible for a hotel bar. Will be back for dinner :)
Good atmosphere, Good service, variety of draft beers, food options at happy hour. Parking: Street parking and parking in delta hotel. Kid-friendliness: Food option for kids and soft drinks. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps available
Very pleasant staff, we really enjoyed our dishes
The world is expensive these days and youre not going to get better food or service elsewhere. Great atmosphere. All around awesome!
Great lunch place downtown. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. A bit tucked away, but solid food and selection.
Went for birthday brunch and had a couple of surprises! Had a great service from jason. Thanks! We will be back again.
This place is very pretty, very modern and trendy looking. Definitely a cool spot to hang out. Our server was very nice and attentive, we came for brunch. The bison mushroom omelette was quite bland and dry tasting, it surprised me. Id recommend a Pico de Gallo or maybe a cream sauce or something on top of it plus a little pepper, salt or other herbs besides chive. Other than that it was an enjoyable experience.
The server was quite impatient me and my friends got there before happy hour ended she didnt share any specials didnt ask us any questions wasnt friendly just your basic what would you like. We asked for some appetizer before happy hour and she became incredibly short with us huffed and walked away before we finished ordering to punch it in. She came back and again was incredibly short with us when asking about the menu. I got the chicken supreme it was so dry i could barely cut through it. It came with cooked vegetables that were barely cooked and still hard. Wendys provides better service and chicken i would suggest going there before spending $50 per person
This was the worst value for my money that I have EVER experienced, not only are the side basic but the server insisted that she had to charge us 18% tip even though we were a table of 4 (myself, wife and 2 kids). They charged us 175$ for next to nothing! Save your time and hard earned money, McDonalds is a better bang for your buck....taste better too!
Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice hot chocolate, lovely room, good service. Went in with my young son, and they were great about it. So not really a public house, but really quite nice
I really did not enjoy my experience with The Shoe and Canoe. My husband and I were treated very rudely by the staff, who ignored us and didnt bring the drinks that were ordered. When it came to the bill, they charged us for the drinks that never came! When I mentioned that, they made a big deal and we ended up with three different bills by the end of it. The food was mediocre and fell apart the second we bit into it. And not in a good way.
Where do I start! Great food, Great location and for a good price? Whats not to like about Shoe and Canoe! Amazing service and being right next to 4th Ave street level makes for such a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Definitely a must try if you are staying at Delta or passing by! Parking: Hotel guests receive free parking. Those who park to dine must pay for the duration of their stay
Had the chicken sandwich today, chicken was good, bun was dry an fell apart. Would go back for a second try but not for a while.
The glasses of water provided at Shoe and Canoe are fantastic beyond description. Indeed, the essence of water itself is captured within the organic bricks of Shoe and Canoes postmodern sculpted lighthouse tower. The Adventures of Phineas Fogg are apparent in the golden Earth which can be held within ones own hands inside the Observatory. Groups of Royal Bourbon Musketeers have here exchanged their muskets for the oars of a mystical Canoe, which hovers above the diners heads. The main floor is irrigated by an Egyptian yet Victorian adapted giant table lamp, which bathes all diners and spectators in a warm and radiant glow as the retro Porsche hubcap rotates. Alternate realities can be seen from the livestock shelters which are morphed into the dentists office, which exists in a primordial state between the upper and lower levels.
It was a nice meal, the aesthetics of the place were weird. It is like the kind of place youd go for a drink with colleagues, but in the middle of the day It feels like it is supposed to be a nice place to make business deals, but just didnt quite get the mark on that. All that aside, the food was fantastic and the service was incredible, the vibe and decor of the place just seemed unsure of what it should be.
I was in Calgary on business this weekend and wanted to find a place to watch the football games on Saturday. I looked up the Shoe and Canoes Instagram page as well as its website to look at a menu and pictures of the restaurant. A Uber dropped me off at the restaurant. When I arrived I found out the entire hotel was closed due to extreme weather (it was -30). Nowhere on their Instagram page or website (or even google hours) did it state the restaurant (and hotel) was closed. Furthermore I had to call another Uber to pick me up and take me to another restaurant. There was staff in the hotel but I wasnt let inside to wait for my ride, so I waited outside in -30 to wait for my Uber. Terrible experience.
This is located in the Delta hotel downtown Calgary. Ive been her for breakfast and lunch and on both occasions the food was really good. Service was a bit... hit & miss. The breakfast service was good, and lunch service at times was a bit inattentive. Ordered soda water with lime and got water and a bunch of limes, then it took quite a bit of time before she came back so I could correct the order. It wasnt busy and there were more than enough staff covering the floor. I just would have been nice to be checked on a bit more. But... if things like this dont bother you... the food on both occasions was really good
Some of the nicest restaurant employees I have ever encountered! :)
Such a place to visit. Great atmosphere. The hot chocolate for YYC Hot Chocolate Fest was amazing!
Nice atmosphere but the price of happy hour is overpriced and not exciting. The portions are really small
My friend & I went for a Christmas drink & we came in just before closing. The waitress didnt come over right away but was efficient once she came & took our order.
Very nice place with good food and service. I found it a little expensive but worth going once and a while.
The place is nice and the service is good, but the food was pretty salty.
Great Meal with friends
Good atmosphere and food but service was slow.
Amazing food, amazing service, creme Brulee is a must try! The Bison pappardelle blows my mind Food : 5/5
A hidden gem for weekend brunch. Nice atmosphere and the food was delicious. I have the Cherry ricotta pancakes and would recommend.
Repeat visit on the last day of YYC Hot Choc Fest for another yummy Strawberry hot chocolate and had the best service from Melanie! It is truly hard to find great service in Calgary anymore but Melanie was fantastic, genuine and attentive. I have never eaten here but would come back simply to be served by Melanie - thank you for making our evening out for hot choc and dessert wonderful!
Great place for dining out. The restaurant is located at the main level of Delta Hotel downtown on 4 ave. The food and drinks are delicious. Alberta Bison and Bisson Poutine are two of the dishes I recommend.
The beer selection is good. The beef tenderloin had no flavor and was chewy. My server was not great and didnt check on me very often. The manager was very friendly and easy to talk with.
Food did not have much flavor service was ok did not check on us much and needed beverages
I stay at the Delta Bow Valley for several reasons. One of these is it offers parking for my F150 on the 1st floor underground parking. The Shoe and Canoe restaraunt is great. Offers good Cocktails and Food at reasonable pricing compared to heading out to other local Restaraunts.
Cafe close in 9.00 pm
Average.
Server was great! Beer was good and nachos could be better
Olives were amazing. Had the asparagus bowl which was delicious and filling, and the brownie was perfectly rich.
Great dining experience...we went 4 times while staying at the Delta...absolutely wonderful service by Anna and Melanie....very good food...love the ranch dip...would definitely go back again.
Fantastic restaurant within the hotel. Our server was very welcoming and fun, thank you! Great starters and drinks We stopped here after a long flight while waiting to check in elsewhere.
Honestly the food was quite meh. Brisket poutine had barely any brisket, bland cheese, and too many potatoes, and the jalapenos were literally flavourless. On the brisket main dish, the carrots at least had flavour but were a little over done. The brisket itself was a decent portion and tender, at least. Their house lager tasted more like water than beer. Tried this place out as its my first night in Calgary and wanted to try some places near where Im living. Wouldnt eat here again.
The food selection was small but met expectations. The service was extremely unfriendly to us, but at the next table she could be very friendly. She wasnt willing to answer 2 individual questions about the card and seemed stressed and annoyed. Despite there being few guests, we waited 28 minutes for our breakfast. We would only go back if there was no other option. It doesnt have to be with a 25 dollar breakfast.
Very nice service!
this place butters their toast to the edge - perfection. also amazing service :) Food : 4/5
Have been here for lunch and breakfast. It is okay. The burgers are fine and the breakfast is ok however the price for the food isnt quite there. There sides with there burger were these kettle chips. Wish it was french fries, sweet potatoes fries, or anything else.
Quite expensive, bison I got was fine but somewhat gamey. Not great value.
Food is excellent. Surprising for a hotel, but would recommend over a handful of restaurants in the city.
Lively quiet restaurant
New rooftop patio is awesome
Bad management. I am staying at the hotel, I wanted to eat corean food from the restaurant across the street AND have drinks at the Shoe and Canoe Pub. Get to the entry with my outside food, was told it was no problem eating my corean and having drinks here. Get seated, 2nd waiter tell me it s fine with my food, I sit and start getting ready to eat and looking for wine to go with it. Manager comes and make me look like a fool and tell me to leave. I get it, but it was disrespectful. Lost a client
Nice and vibrant minimalist decor with great selection of food and drinks. Nice happy hour spot.
Ideal for eating in a relaxed hotel environment.
WOW, AVOID EATING HERE - I had the $25 Barclay Burger which consisted of a previously frozen patty (shame on them), and a stale whole wheat bun (when the description states a brioche bun, albeit, they were out of brioche and never mentioned anything). Obviously, this is a hotel bar/restaurant in which management doesnt care about quality as theyll have hotel patrons regardless. Way too many other good restaurants nearby opposed to eating here!
Decent place for hotel bar and restaurant.
Just a
Neat atmosphere. Food was quite good. The service was the slowest inattentive service weve had in a long time. The kitchen was fast once we got our order in.
All good at the delta Calgary
Quite good.
.... Burger was great
I had a shredded bison and wild mushroom omelette for breakfast which is my favourite menu. I keep ordering this every time when I get to stay at Delta Bow valley hotel. Nice atmosphere and friendly stuff.
Kettle chips are such a cheap option. If you offered real sides I would have enjoyed it a bit more.
Its like open hotel lounge kind of bar, and it actually is of Delta. Pretty cozy. The dude servers are friendly, especially the manager, the one with very short hair, Mahasin. I enjoy talking to him.
We had the best server in Calgary!
Nice spot, w/ good vibes on a Friday night ! They had live music that was fantastic and a fireplace that made it feel cozy. Nice menu we just had appitizers and drinks; the beer list was not great. It was December and the tasting flight consisted exclusively of sours and fruit beers you could tell they were from the summer and they were trying to clear it out. Would prefer fresh seasonally relevant beer. Other than that, great spot!
Great atmosphere and extremely tasty food and desserts! The red velvet cheesecake with the chocolate hazelnut outside was HEAVEN. Definitely recommend! You can sit in the first area which seems more pub like and suited for watching sports or go in towards the area with a fireplace and nice decor for a more restaurant experience.
Such a beautiful place! Really enjoyed the ambiance and our waitress was the perfect amount of attentativeness and service. She knew when to give us our space (we were having deep conversations) and we had the hot chocolate featured for the yyc hot chocolate festival benefiting Meals in Wheels, we had the poutine as well, very unique and both delicious. 100% would go again!
What a surprise! Chef Eugene Hicks brings so much joy to his recipes. We went for Valentine s Day and pick up the special. The marriage of flavours amazed me. Thank you Melanie for your service, we enjoyed that special moment. I recommend this place if you are looking for something original to eat.
Great experience. They were also agile with our booking. We had a 7pm that we had to move ~24 hours in advance, and they were fortunately able to accommodate us. Server was fun and friendly and very helpful. Food was 10/10. Setting was warm and welcoming. We very much enjoyed it overall.
Came for the YYC Hot Chocolate Fest will definitely return for the atmosphere, food and the SERVICE! I cannot praise sweet Melanie enough for her kindness, attentiveness and general efficiency. On top of the best hot chocolate during YYC Hot Chocolate Fest, the food was great, the atmosphere was so inviting and uniquely Canadian. 10/10 will definitely be back.
I would have loved to dine here like we had intended to, but it took far too long for someone to even attempt to take our beverage order. When we arrived, one of the servers let us know that we could seat ourselves anywhere. We picked a table, sat down and waited about 10 minutes, then a different server hurried past us and said theyd be right with us. Another 5 or so minutes passed, and the lady who told us we could seat ourselves asked if she could help us, but seemed a little puzzled that we we were waiting for something. She said shed be right back with a pen and some paper. On her way back, she stopped at another table and then proceeded to another table, but not to ours. Finally, the lady who told us shed be right with us came back around, but by then, we decided to leave. If we already had to wait this long for someone to take our beverage order, who knows how long the rest of our dining experience wouldve been. The restaurant had less than ten tables with people dining there. I understand that things happen, and it can be busier than what appears to the guest. It was just a disappointing experience. We dont get downtown too often, so were unsure if well ever re-attempt to dine here or if itd even be worth it.
Server was very friendly! Went for YYC Hot Chocolate festival and it was delicious!
Relaxing atmosphere, great menu, friendly staff. I think this will be my new go to spot. Me and my friend enjoy catching up in a casual environment where we can sit on the couches and really feel at home, and welcome. We ve enjoyed appetizers, entrées, desserts, alcoholic beverages, coffees, teas, etc. The bartender is a fixture at this hotel and I hope to see him every time I go! He is amazing his demeanor, his service, everything. Prices are a little higher than my thrifty self likes, but I still go there to enjoy myself
The manager was one of the nicest around. Drinks were great and so was the eats.
Tried to have dinner, had to beg to get a drink and gave up after 45 min while watching the two servers talk to each other instead of serving customers. Have had good service previously but this was just horrible.
Delicious burger and cheapish beer at happy hour. Nice location and great service
A great spot to wind down. Leon was excellent and suggested a few great cocktails for us we wouldnt have tried otherwise.
Tasty food in a cozy upscale environment with a variety of seating.
The dishes here are really good. The taste and amount are just right. Service is excellent. Price is fair!
We really enjoyed our meal and service. A portion of the Barclay burger is being donated to a Ukraine fundraiser so I opted to order it. Moist and delicious Bison patty topped with a jalapeño bacon jam. My friend raved about the chicken on her caesar salad. We had seen when this restaurant was built just hadnt made it down until an industry event took place here. Well be back.
Busy downtown location, interesting mix of people from all walks of life. Food was presented very well but pricey. Service was decent.
The worst experience I ve had in calgary. Poorly managed and staffed. No bartender to serve a full restaurant and bar during dinner. Food was mediocre at best. Waited more than 1 hour for bland pub food to be served. Kitchen is way to small to serve a place of this size. We watched multiple tables leave before getting their food.
Good restaurant and bar within the Delta Marriott
Came in for mothers day brunch. Ridiculously overpriced buffet so decided on ordering off menu which was average at best. Had to get up to see if someone would wait on our table even though the place was near empty. Not impressed!
I had been looking forward to trying out Shoe and Canoe for a while but it was quite disappointing when I did. For starters, there was a strong smell of cigarettes that was wafting into the bar area. We switched seats to the lounge where the smell still lingered. While the servers apologized for forgetting about us in the lounge (no menus, no service) what really got me was the manager s lack of understanding of the drinks menu. He didn t know what the beers were with regards to their popularity or their flavour profile. All he could tell us was that it was who it was brewed by. The whole experience made us decide to continue our night elsewhere which was quite disappointing and frankly unacceptable. The two stars are because their service was still decent given how busy they were. Won t be coming back here though
Lovely decor, friendly service, good food. My breakfast fried egg sandwich would have been better with grain bread, but delicious Valhalla sausage patty with all the fixings!
Good food, desert, and drinks. Bison was excellent.
The food was delicious and the service was great and fun.
On my first visit here the waitress was just outstanding and quite congenial. For this I would rate it with top marks. On my second visit here, the waiter was just not up to par and he did not make a good impression. For this, rating the service would have to drop to one star. Food
Jamie made me feel so welcome. She was very busy, and still made time for me. Also, one of her coworkers pitched in to help also.
Awesome
Limited drink choices but good choices
Average hotel bar. Didnt really give me the homey shoe and canoe vibes Id expect from the title. Appreciate local craft beer options. Happy hour pricing is decent.
Good bar with reasonable prices
Its okay. Very slow service
Good food, decent beer
Vegetarian options: Was encouraging to see vegan option. Dietary restrictions: Could always be more options. Parking: Guests in hotel. Wheelchair accessibility: Totally adequate.
Food was pretty good. Service was brutal.
Nice food, very popular. Staff very friendly.
Was really excited for this place for our pre wedding celebrations with family. The ambiance is really lovely. However it was impossible to get a drink, and I was promised a gluten free bun and vegan cheese and they didn t have either. So paid $22 for a burger with lettuce and bacon and a few greens. It took over 30 minutes to get the bill when we told the waitresses we were in a rush and asked for it three times.
I had breakfast here two days in a row as I was staying at the hotel. The food presentation is great but the food itself i a little tasteless and disappointing. They can also do a better job of serving customers.
Absolute Trainwreck. Ordered a Daiquiri an they forgot simple syrup and their freshly squeezed lemon tasted like it came from a bottle and no doubt did. Ordered a poutine and they melted a bunch of cheese curds into one singular blob on top of a bed of undercooked whole potatoes smothered in a flavourless watery gravy. Cheese plate was the most disappointing one I ve ever had in my life. Just another restaurant serving low quality food trying to trick you into accepting mediocre fare with branding and interior. Don t be fooled by other pictures it s clear some manager has started trying to increase profits by slashing quality, our cheese plate was nothing like the other pictures here. Waiter wondered off for 10 mins when we asked for the bill. Won t be back.
Very pleasant experience good service.
Mind blown every time I get food from here! So delicious down to the very last bite! Keep doing your thing shoe and canoe!
Very friendly staff, only used the place for breakfast, but that was cooked very well, and a good choice
Great Beer and great Service...thank you!
Lovely meal and service.
Parking: Be careful when you looking for a parking place
Expensive but amazing food
Pretty good.
Great vibe and great service. Was here with work group and the staff were very attentive! Food was great as well!
Really good food. I had the parmesan encrusted cod over linguini. Delicious.
First time here over a week ago on a Friday early evening. They had live entertainment, which was pleasant. It was happy hour which we didnt plan for. Service was quick and drinks and food were good. We had their bison poutine, which consisted of baby potatoes not fries, interestingly different. Modern space with a fireplace. Cozy.
Bartender was awesome!!
Great food and really nice atmosphere. It calls itself a pub, but it is not at all a pub atmosphere and is much more like a nice restaurant.
Very nice modern restaurant with great decor and atmosphere. The food was delicious and well priced. I ordered the Bison & Mushroom omlette and it was superb. The prices are reasonable and the service was quite good.
Went to try them out of the YYC hot chocolate month and man it was undeniably delicious and a craft experience. Shout out to Zach for going above and beyond providing excellent customer service. 10/10 would recommend
I feel like they had an off night or something. I had the burger and my wife had the steak. The steak was cooked properly, but lacked salt and pepper. The salad was amazing. The chips are wonderful. The burger patty was overcooked, drying out the whole burger. In short the sides where great the mains not so much. I will go back, I feel like it was just a bad night for the kitchen.
The decor and ambiance is lovely but the food...not so much. Bacon, sausages and hash browns made at 5 am and served at 1030 am is not tasty. Two eggs and a piece of toast for $20, shameful.
Such delicious food and lovely rooftop patio!
Nice decor and fair price
Didn t like menu! Not much vegetarian options. The food was not good as such but drink was fine. Not recommended
Good food at reasonable prices. On the evening of our visit, only the outdoor area was open. Nevertheless, we had to wait a very long time for the drinks and especially for the food (almost an hour).
Ive only had the breakfast wrap here but hands down the best piece of food Ive eaten in all of Calgary. Im in disbelief.
Fantastic food, outstanding friendly staff and service, and a great variety of delectable local beers. Highly recomendable to everyone who enjoys good food and good company!
Had to show proof of vax, but once in it was a nice atmosphere. Tables were socially distanced, numerous tvs in the dining area. One waitress worked the bar and the other one worked the restaurant. She hustled filling orders non-stop. Dinner was good. Nice atmosphere. Very pleasant.
Best place to unwind.
My husband and I ordered breakfast from here while staying at the Delta. We were underwhelmed unfortunately for the high cost.
Wonderful staff, friendly and dedicated. Amazing winter squash soup! Plan to have it again tonight! Hubby likes the Bison burger with Saskatoon berry compote and arugula. The Sticky toffee pudding is big enough for sharing. Can be a bit noisy if there is a party in for happy hour, but you can still hear to talk at your table.
Great environment
We went for dinner and drinks and were really happy with our experience. The waitress was amazing and was very knowledgeable and friendly. I had a Moscow Mule and it was very well done. I had the pineapple bacon pizza and I really liked it and that it had fresh pineapple. I would definitely come here again and try to get a seat by the fireplace!
Service and food were good. A nice selection of local craft beers.
Really great service and food. There are a lot of options to choose and to share as well. It is part of the hotel and has some nice dinning spaces.
Great wings, incredible salads, and a local beer selection... How could you go wrong here?
I was in for breakfast and it was wonderful. The staff have a natural energy about them. The prices are typical for downtown or slightly cheaper. If you are looking for a good, cheap, fast meal dont come downtown. If you want two of those things come here. Very open concept, so it is a great place to decompress during a meal.
The Valentines day menu was delicious!
Very nice soups
Great for an office lunch , highly recommend
We went here for dinner during the Food and Drink Experience for the $30 prix fixe menu. The soup of the day was a vegetable lentil, which was good but fairly unremarkable. The spinach salad with brown butter broccoli was a bit odd, all the makings of a classic spinach salad with a few pieces of blanched broccoli added on top... wouldve liked the broccoli to be sauteed or roasted at least. The tree glazed boneless shortrib was tasty, nicely braised with a yummy sweet glaze (still not sure what tree refers to). The coq au vin was a disappointment. For a dish called chicken with wine, it had very little chicken, only 2 bite sized morsels in the whole dish. The papparedelle was a touch undercooked with a couple bites bordering on raw where the pasta had clumped together, and the whole dish was swimming in oil. On a positive note, it did have a generous amount of beautifully caramelized mushrooms and bacon. My 4 year old enjoyed the orecchiette which we ordered for her from the regular menu. For a hotel restaurant, some kid friendly choices/portions would be well appreciated. For dessert, the Valrhona brownie was dense and rich, and not overly sweet. The kitchen was kind enough to prepare a fruit bowl to accommodate a dairy restriction. The service had a couple highlights with the server expediting my daughters meal and accommodating a dairy restriction, but aside from that was quite inattentive, especially given that there were only 8 other tables of guests in the whole restaurant. Lastly, the atmosphere was inviting and the beer list had a good number of local options.
The servers and food was great during the first few days of our stay! Taking a star off for last experience today where the lady serving us skipped us during their 5pm happy hour drink distribution where everyone around us got their free drinks except us. Not sure if it was racial but Ill give them the benefit of the doubt, since they were great thoughout our 4 day stay
Bison burger was really good.
Nice lunch selection and appetizer menu is good but over priced.
The restaurant itself is great - modern, relaxed, open concept and the staff are wonderful and pleasant. The menu was slim for options and the food wasnt anything above and beyond. I wouldnt go back here to eat but for a happy hour or casual gathering I would keep this place in mind.
My husband and I went for dinner and drinks. The service was excellent - we felt well taken care of. Atmosphere was also pleasant and cozy! My dietary restrictions were also well taken care of; I appreciated that the chef himself came out to speak with me to confirm what modifications were possible. We ordered the white fish and unfortunately the dish was pretty tasteless (almost no salt?). We felt the portions were too small as well.
A+++++++
The restaurant was awesome and the food was delicious. The service and live band was fantastic. Will definitely miss that and will visit again on my next visit to Calgary
So much more than I was expecting from a hotel restaurant. Interior is cozy yet classy, staff is super friendly, and the menu is filled with creative twists on classic dishes. I ordered the breakfast pizza, which was way bigger than I expected (not that Im complaining). Its topped with fresh tomatos, sausage, an egg, and, interestingly enough, the whole thing has a scalloped potato spin to it. Not only are there potatoes on the pizza, but the sauce is much like what one would use for scalloped potatoes, although perhaps slightly thicker. This is all served on a delightfully fresh and thick crust. This place is definitely worth checking out for breakfast enthusiasts in Calgary, as well as any visitors staying in the Delta or nearby.
Great spot for business breakfast meetings. Quick friendly service and well priced.
Loved hanging here during a course I was talking. Was a good spot to escape to. Food was great.
Nice cozy little space located in the Delta. Food was alright. Highly recommend the short ribs for the entree.
Its expensive, the atmosphere is really nice though and service was great. Definitely appeals to an older more refined crowd. Love the fireplace and open concept/low chairs. Feels like a ski lodge. Not a place I will go back to but I recommend if you have money to burn to check it out!
A while ago I had a great burger here, great meat to bun ratio. Loved the dip with the chips, and the chips were cut thicker which was so tasty. Since then the chips got thinner to be more typical saddly. Theyve introduced a $15 meal served in 15 min lunch option, which I had the chicken sandwich and it was all pretty tasty, but the amount of topping in the Harissa chicken sandwich was lacking for such a large bun.
The restaurant is spacious and has a nice design. The food felt expensive, with nothing especially innovative. We dined as a group and the server didnt consistently tell people that 18% gratuity was included, which bothered me.
