112 8 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 1B4, Canada
This informal spot for Thai standards like curries & stir-fries also offers delivery.
Loved the massaman and green curry! Friendly staff, prompt service. We came here before seeing a show at Theatre Calgary. It wasn't hard to find but you might walk right by if you aren't careful! The entrance is a narrow front which is the door to the stairs up to the restaurant. Beautiful decor inside. Came as a party of 2 but there are definitely larger tables to accommodate largergroups too. Definitely on my list of Calgary favourites!
We found this hidden gem randomly while visiting Calgary! The food is so delicious! Like seriously delicious. We got Drunken Noodles and the extra spicy 🌶️ Yellow Curry with rice! We bank the next day to get dinner haha
My experience here is always positive. I usually get the same thing...fresh salad rolls and coconut soup with tofu. They always prepare everything vegan/gluten free. I think if you're patient and explain your dietary restrictions carefully, everything works out very well. The service has always been great. The vegan/ gluten free dishes that I always order are excellent.
I had the lunch buffet for $21. There were about 6 items on the menu. 2 chicken, beef, rice, steamed vegetables, fried calamari .
One of the best Tom yom soup I ever tried with spring rolls and Thai dumpling. I ordered Thai stocky rice mango for dessert which was delicious as well . Very good service and decent price in the downtown of Calgary.
The food was good. Compared to other Thai places the red curry and the desert were particularly notable and delicious. They have a highchair and cutlery for children. It’s not an accessible place. There are a lot of stairs. It was very hard to get the stroller up. They don’t have a change table in the bathroom either.
It is the first time to have Thai cuisine in Calgary. The restaurant is nice and comfortable. The food is so delicious especially the Pork Satay which we ordered one more after finishing the first round. The price is reasonable and more people to come, more food you could try.
Ordered pad Thai and large tom yam chicken. Food didn't meet expectations, especially Pad Thai. Ketchup ruined the noodles. And chicken in Tom yum had zero flavor. Very empty at 12pm on Tuesday. Most people came for 21.5 dollar lunch buffet, available from 11:30 to 2pm weekdays.
Absolutely phenomenal experience with wonderful food and friends. Thanks to Nick and the staff for a memorable evening!
Lovely servers, always pleasant and peaceful ambiance. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options. And they even made vege-broth for us instead of their regular broth because one of our friend is strictly vegan Food : 5/5 |
The abysmal service can t make up for amazing food. I waited an hour for my bill and we were the only table there. The servers were totally unprepared and disorganized for our table of 15. Not even great food can save a restaurant from service this bad. Don t expect a tip when you make customers wait an hour to leave. I was the first to ask for my bill as urgently had to leave and was forced to wait an hour (I asked multiple times) the server had no Idea what anyone had ordered and had to ask each person. Even without the bill issue, the overall service was still bad. My drink was empty all the time, took forever for anything, servers hardly understand English, and feels like they just don t understand the service industry. I would rate this a 1 star as honestly would never come back and never recommend it purely due to the awful service. But the food is good so you get 3 stars The servers didn t even ask us about spicy level all Of us complained it was not spicy enough
Fantastic food created by artist chefs. Top notch. We eat here whenever we visit the city... Dietary restrictions: Gluten and dairy free options
I ve eaten here several times. Pad see-ew is fantastic. Pad Thai is one of the best I ve had. Service was so-so, but they seemed understaffed on this visit. I ll be back! Wheelchair accessibility: As far as I know, they are not wheelchair accessibility. Up a flight of stairs with no elevator.
Amazing lunch buffet! Great food and friendly staff! Must try!
Greta place for Thai.
Very nicely decorated restaurant With authentic thai food. Food
Went for lunch buffet with a colleague and options were good but limited. What was there was delicious though :) definitely recommend trying out the lunch buffet! And staff were super sweet.
Great place to go for lunch and dinner. Lunch buffet is really good, good variety and ready to go if you are in a rush for lunch Wheelchair accessibility: It was not obvious if there was wheelchair accessibility
What a nice spot Service was great, they never bothered us, The food tasted great we wiped out the plates Will go again to try the buffet it is only 20 bucks The vibes, the decorations, everything is worth it I jussst wish they put more meat, all restaurants never do
Really like the blue mango sticky rice!
Go for the buffet. Most of the food is gluten free. Staff are friendly, good service.
Great all you can eat buffet on weekdays. Good quality, nice location. I didn t rate it 5 stars because the variety was limited
Food for the lunch buffet is good for the cost, but need to tone it down on the saltiness. Either than that great.
Decent place for thai food! Tom yum soup was the best. Rest of the dishes could have be better
The service was great! We didnt have high expectations for the lunch buffet but it turned out to be really good! Decent number of options and it all tasted great! The iced coffee was sweeter than I expected, it tasted more like a dessert. The dessert, coconut rice pudding with mangos, was also delicious and I think they need to serve larger portions! I could have eaten 4 portions of it.
Nick and his team are phenomenal people! Service was quick and friendly. I have always enjoyed the food and tonights experience was no different.
Great food for the price, been there twice and both times where great. Cocktails are good too
Friendly staff, clean dining room and washrooms. Lunch buffet was realy good!
Great buffet!
It was okay food. Service was good
This place really is a hidden gem. Amazing food, great service and great value for money. Highly recommended.
Looks very old but food tastes awesome
Have been here are few times and its always very good. The price has gone up but the veggie options sometimes are not that great! All in all, it is still good and we will be back. Vegetarian options: One of the reasons we frequent this place is the veggie options. Lately they havent had many options.
The atmosphere of this place was beautiful and really showed the culture of Thai . The food was amazing, and the service was great. They didn t take too long. For the food we tried spring rolls, green curry, sticky rice, jasmine rice, chicken phadthai, Penang chicken curry . Everything was awesome. It was decorated beautifully.
What a great place to eat! Food was delicious and the whole group really enjoyed the food. The ambiance of this restaurant was amazing. I recommend this restaurant for everyone, as it also had a variety of options! We tried many different dishes, both vegetarian and non vegetarian. Both were really good! We also didnt have to wait much for our food to come. Really want to come here again. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options included!
Best Thai food in Calgary, very authentic. Service is sporadic, but the food makes it worth it.
Rose Garden Thai has been around for many years. The location of this restaurant is convenient for a downtown walking distance lunch and it is obviously doing well, judging by the number of customers. The Buffet lunch option at RGT is all about quantity and price. The pad thai noodles were somewhat dehydrated and clumped under the heat lamp, the veggies were good but not unique, the Thai curries - beef, chicken and pork, were all good, a little bit spicy, but not spectacular. Why pick that option, you may ask? Simply put, it was a business lunch, most a la carte main items are priced around $20.00, the buffet is perfectly priced at $22.00 or so. All of us around the table chose the buffet. Not sure if one should ever have any great expectations, from a lunch buffet, but the convenience and the price make it a reasonable proposition. The service was courteous.
The Rose garden Thai restaurant has always been a great spot for authentic Thai food. With its location on Steven avenue. It provides a convenient and excellent location. The atmosphere has great authentic Thai culture with great food and decent serving sizes. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Stephen avenue.
Used to be the best Thai restaurant. I think after pandemic, things changed to but of shrinkflation.Prices have gone up, for example chicken pad Thai is about 20 dollars now but they serve less amount than we used to have. Bit disappointed!
Came here with my office for a coworkers bar call after party. It was very warm inside. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. The menu was pre picked by the new lawyer and was mostly vegan. It was a lot of food I normally wouldnt eat, and Im not a tofu fan, but the red and green curry was delicious and covered my texture issues with tofu. The chicken patay was extremely delicious. I will absolutely be back to try other dishes.
This was a take out order. I live quite close to this restaurant so I walked over. The walk from 11 th ave only took about 5 minutes but I left late. By now Im approaching 20 mins past the closing time on a Friday night no less. Tail between my legs I jog up the many stairs that is the entrance to Rose Garden Thai. Awaiting my awkward arrival is the majority of the restaurant staff. I expected a rather stern finger wäg but instead I was greeted with smiles and the English language. Ive often encountered groups of people speaking their mother tongue knowing you dont speak that language for the sole purpose of discussing your outrageous behavior covertly. Not here. Here it was friendly and warm. Of course I apologized and gave the cashier a $ 100 dollar tip. That part never happened but I did leave something as a token of appreciation. Grabbed my still hot food and split. Back down the stairs and out onto Stephen Ave. Beware those stairs. One too many MaiTais and you could find yourself doing a lip stand on to 8th ave in front of a large crowd. The food was delicious. Standard Thai order, Pad Thai, a red curry, some rice with coconut. I will say I felt the portions a bit small; was me and my 85 year old mother dining. I know, Friday night right. We had to arm wrestle over who is getting that last bit of Pad Thai after having a quite small portion to begin with. As she is chowing down, I contemplate on how the whole order could have been larger. Im going back for sure though. Although I will wait till Im feeling flush due to the arrival of one government cheque or another. No one will describe this place as cheap. But Thai food has always been kind of a special take out treat due to the cost. Maybe the Thai restaurants around the city could drop the price a bit and see what happens. They might find that folks will choose Bangkok over Beijing, fish sauce over soya.
There arent many buffet items, but the prices arent bad and the taste is good.
lovely cozy place ....go to options for office goers in downtown
Came here with my boyfriend and got Thai dumplings, spring rolls, pad Thai and the street noodles. The food was absolutely incredible, everything was clearly fresh and homemade by someone who cares. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service was kind and prompt. We will be returning!
Really good Thai food for a decent price. Picture is of the chicken summer rolls with peanut sauce.
We came for a lunch buffet. Great selection quality and amount of Thai food. Staff were extremely nice friendly and still professional. We shall be back Vegetarian options: Lots of choices. We are vegetarians and had a lot to chose from.
Incredible food and amazing service. Every dish was just delicious, great quality and presented so nicely. Hidden gem.
The only one cons is that there are limited dishes.
I came to dine here whilst in Calgary and left super happy, the food was tasty and the staff very friendly.
Food was great, but I felt the portion sizes were smaller than expected for some of the appetizers.
Great place for a quick bite in the heart of downtown Calgary. The prices are reasonable and the portions are big enough. The staff is friendly and quick on their feet. Highly recommended!!
My names Eli spoke with the owner Nick over the phone great guy, great ownership, great business.
Always a great place. Better book over lunch. Really nice buffet.
We attended the lunch buffet. The food is very nice. The only thing I would change is increase the heat/spiciness.
Great little place on Stephen Avenue mall in downtown. Really great Thai food for a reasonable price. I had the panang curry with chicken and coconut rice and it was really good while my wife had the tom yum gai and fresh spring rolls. Friendly Staff and the food came out really quick. Would eat here again.
I am visiting Calgary and I ordered a parcel from this restaurant through ubereats. Pineapple fried rice was aweful. I had to add salt and some more sauces. Chicken and shrimp tasted bland as if the rice was prepared first and they just mixed some chicken and shrimp on top of it. I could not eat the meat at all. Very disappointed. Dine in might be a better option based on the reviews. Spring rolls and soup was good.
Just had the chicken soup with coconut broth and was blown away by the flavour. Got some of the in-house chili oil with it too and I dont know how else to say it, but it was just so so good. Definitely coming back.
Very good food and the staff was helpful. I would definitely come back.
We randomly walked in on a Saturday stroll with no expectations. We are definitely coming back. Food was awesome. We had all vegan options. Loved the green curry. Service was fast and friendly. Recommend!
The best Asian restaurant serving authentic stir fry meal
Pretty good food
Very nice restaurant!!!! Staff are very friendly. Amazing food. I recommend it.
order take out and both pad thai and pad sii ew noodles are overcooked. not gonna come back for this food. add extra for shrimp on pad sii ew and i just got 3pcs not worth the money. pad thai doesn t taste good at all so we just throw the food as we can t eat it
I wouldn t call this authentic Thai food, though anyone would struggle to cook authentic Thai with the ingredients available here. You probably wouldn t enjoy yourself if you ve had lots of Thai food in Asia. The best dish we had was the tom yum soup (remember to ask for spicy!) Basil pork was pretty bad and the mai tai tasted like fruit punch with no liquor.
One of the best experience ever The food was deliciously flavourful. I ordered many times from DoorDash and every time it gets better and better. It s never a disappointment. I love Thai food and tried many .lol ok all restaurants in Calgary and at this restaurant you can get yummy authentic Thai at a reasonable price. The owner is an exceptional person that managed his restaurant and employees to deliver exceptional quality and service. I highly recommend! Hands down the best!!!!
Love the location downtown and the atmosphere was great! Food was good - we were a big party, so we ordered a lot of different plates to share amongst eachother. We ordered a good handful of different noodle dishes and they all kind of tasted the same. Portions were decent and prices were fair.
Havent been to the Rose Garden in many years, but it hasnt changed a bit. And thats a good thing.
Good food. Just a little difficult to eat without a knife
Small portions. Cheaped out on protein and vegetables. Very carb heavy. Flavour was good though.
Decent place. All the dishes had good flavour. Lemongrass stir-fry was probably the standout dish. Nothing fancy, but Id say solid.
Very good Thai meal, good service, well received, well decorated Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetables,
Amazing !!!
Best Thai Ive ever had. The green curry is amazing. The mango salad is fresh, crisp and a bit spicy. I will eat here every time I am in Calgary, even though the parking sucks. Wish this place was in Edmonton.
Great service. Plain basic Thai food in the buffet.
The best Thai restaurant I ve ever been to! The staff was so nice , service was excellent and very fast! Highly recommend
Very tasty and artfully presented really quite enjoyable
Decent Thai food, but would not recommend anyone.
Vegetarian options: Pretty much everything
The ambience was great. The food is tasty and presented well. The service was lovely. I tried the dumplings, chicken satay and the fried rice. Must try!
Best Thai food in Calgary!!!! Nick and his team have perfected their menu. Tons of options for everyone, including those of us with allergies. Cant recommend this place enough!
Great food, we dont live close and spend the extra time to travel as a distination. Worth it every time.
In an even more difficult pursuit of drunken noodles in the city this place delivers! I cant beleive how good it was. Authentic and spicy. Cant wait to sit down and eat. Updating nearly a year later, still consistently amazing food. Ive never had a miss from them. If youre on the fence please give them a go. Its fantastic.
Fantastic Thai, highly recommend! Vegetarian options: All vegetarian options were clearly labelled, this isn t often the case with Asian cuisine.
Their Shrimp Salad Rolls (called Vietnamese Spring Rolls in other places) were very good and unique due to extra mint (and/or basil?). I had my go-to dish of green curry and opted for coconut rice. It was all very good and the staff is borderline joyful. Id definitely come here again.
Their buffet is the best, decent options and delicious with many options for vegetarians.
Came here during lunch for their buffet. Small buffet with limited choices. But even though it was small, it still had choices for people who are vegetarian which was really nice. Very filling.
Good food. Staffs are very polite. We ate buffet and it worth the price.
This is by far the best Thai restaurant I have had the pleasure of eating, in Calgary! What phenomenal flavour all around. I ordered the Pad Thai and everything was cooked to perfection. I also ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup and the flavour was to die for. I will definitely be a returning customer!
Excellent food. Large portion sizes. Affordable prices. We even had enough for next day lunch.
The food was amazing it brings me back to Thailand. Staff also really sweet. Decor is nice. The food was excellent, it took me back to Thailand. The staff is very nice and the decor is nice.
The best Thai restaurant in Calgary without a doubt. I ve been going to this restaurant for the past three years. The taste has never changed, still like the first time. I ordered this time without dinning in due to covid. Chicken satay, stir fried mixed vegetables with coconut rice, pad Thai noodles, coconut ice cream and sticky rice with mango! Everything was mind blowing, authentic taste and flavourful. Good portion sizes and scrumptious!
Great Pad Thai! Hard to find but worth it
OMG!!!!! That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I tried the first bite of my Pannag curry ; it was balanced, tasteful, just delicious . I got coconut rice with my Pannag curry and it worked very well. I am definitely coming back, I highly recommend this place. BTW, service was excellent too. No waste here.
My boyfriend and I went there a few times. I really enjoyed the food. I have definitely referred this restaurant to my friend and family. They have also had great experiences. Serves is also great as well. I would 100% recommend.
When there is nowhere else to eat (except for fast food and steak places) it s a fair choice. Obviously it is overpriced -16.25$ for any stir-fry, pad thai or curry, portions are medium, but waiters are cheerful, the atmosphere is relaxed. Another strange thing: there are no people inside, and the restaurant opens only at 5 pm (!?). I like the smell of incense, it reminded me of my visit to Thailand.
Food was fine, but I waited 45 minutes for my entree to come, and eventually had to leave to make it to the Flames game and get it to go. And they still charged me for it! Seemed woefully understaffed and disorganized. Will not return.
Nice restaurant. Good pad Thai and the spice shrimp soup is super tasty! Fish cakes are also good. Mango and sweet rice is lovely for dessert.
I went for because their will give you a to go container for their lunch buffet. I actually thought it was double the length because of the mirror before I agreed to it. Very few items, but most were good, the pad thai was quite flavourless, the spring rolls were empty, but them came in just as I was finishing packing it up but only a few. The salad rolls were tofu filled, and I did not care for them at all. The soup was the best part but the soup container was more the size of a dip container. I will go back but it will be awhile.
Good food. We went on a Saturday evening in January so wasnt busy at all. My husband loved the fresh rolls and pad Thai. We also got the curry. Was plenty of food for two adults and two toddlers. It is located upstairs.
Terrible food. Over priced.
Great spot for a yummy and quick lunch. Favs were the soup, coconut rice and beef curry. Good food at a good price.
Ordered online, and the food was the worst thai food Ive ever eaten. The pad thai had no flavor at all; it was as if they had thrown in the chicken and shrimp into the dish as an afterthought - if I can even call it chicken or shrimp. Seriously, I have never eaten something and been disturbed because I didnt taste anything. When was the last time you ate a shrimp that tasted like nothing? It was just strange. It was not good. Im not sure if they were too busy or what, but it was bad. I usually never leave reviews, but I felt this warranted one. Do not recommend - there are plenty of other thai places in the city.
Lovey cozy spot on Stephen Ave but be forewarned - a long flight of stairs to get to this upper level restaurant and no elevator. Their buffet is smaller but stellar flavours. Get there early for Friday lunch if you have no reservations. Because its cozy, it usually fills up quickly. Welcoming service tops the Rose Garden experience - were always happy chappies when we leave!
Highly recommend making a stop if you re on Stephen Ave or downtown. It s upstairs and very decorative. They also have TVs for game nights. Definitely try the dinner for 2. It includes spring rolls, green curry with a choice or protein and a pad Thai along with dessert. All that for $40 and will feed you comfortably.
This place s decor is so cute and authentic to the Thai culture. The food was made quickly for pick up, and customer service was great. However, the vegetable pad thai, literally had like 5 pieces of vegetables in it.
Their buffet is terrific and while its toned down on spice to cater for the general public it still has plenty of flavor. I love ordering from here because you can choose your spice level and customize. I will note while it may be short on veggies in some of the dishes as opposed to other restaurants their sauces pack a punch and you dont notice! The only reason I took down a star is their portion sizes are very small compared to any other restaurant/cuisine for take-out. Containers are only half-full. That being said they are fairly priced. However, being one of the best spots for Thai cuisine in the city I would be happy to pay more for a larger serving!
What a cool place. Great decor and love the atmosphere. A real gem right on Stephen Avenue. It should be mentioned to that this is an exceptionally clean restaurant. And by the way, to to the food is amazing. Street noodles are my go-to dish.
Eaten here at least half a dozen times. The food has always been good (by Calgary Thai standards) but, sadly on the latest visit, we experienced poor service. Perhaps the owner/manager and the server were each having a bad day since service has generally been good on previous visits.
Not a very elaborate spread, but whatever is out there tastes really yummy. The spring rolls were top notch and so was the fried rice. The soup and desserts could be better. Everything tasted fresh, reasonable value for money.
Great decor and cozy restaurant downtown. Good service. Simple buffet but food is very delicious and price is reasonable!
Nice place
I absolutely love this place, been a huge fan for a couple years now. It s a hidden gem on Stephen Ave.
Quiet upstairs place. Smaller selection for a buffet but all very well done and tasty. I especially enjoyed the Tom Yum soup, pad thai, and grilled beef salad. All very authentic flavoring. Would like to see the desserts refilled but other then that, good experience. Would eat again.
Great food, service, and interior. the lunch buffet was small but was very tasty. The dessert tray was almost empty and lacked a few choices, however it was a great lunch. Definitely would recommend.
Had their sticky rice ... HOLY SMOKES! It was SO tasty! I couldnt stop eating it no matter how full I was! The environment is really nice as well. Lots of beautiful decorations.
Had the buffet, was good. Unique decoration upstairs. Service was friendly.
Great authentic Thai, just like Thailand. Panang curry and red curry are top notch.
Great food
Good food
Authentic Thai cuisine great service, amazing people and unforgettable happy service
Some of the best Thai food in YYC! Service could be a bit better!
Probably one of the best Thai restaurants in Calgary if not THE best. Authentic fare, relaxed downtown atmosphere.
Food is ok needs to be spicy. Servings are big. Ambiance needs to have a music to complete it because it has a great interior design.
Yummy Thai food served in authentic blue/white pattern dishes. The fresh rolls were delicious and I appreciated their small size as they were easier to dip into the sweet chili sauce. Unfortunately the curries (green and panang) lacked in flavour, but still good enough to get my Thai fix and Im sure Ill be back.
Very good.. but also far too expensive. Rose Garden should adjust their prices to reflect the state of the local economy. I m sure they would attract far more patrons to their restaurant to make up any difference. It s weird being the only few people in for dinner.
We had reservations at 12 noon. When I arrived the hostess said, Oh you friend is already here. Just walk in and you can find her. Maybe by the windows. The restaurant is long so by default you will see everyone as you walk towards the windows. The buffet was quite sparse - both in selection and amount available. I counted about 9-10 hot dishes, 3-4 cold dishes (salads, salad rolls), 1 soup (which my friend said tasted water down) and a selection of desserts. I would have to continually stand at the buffet station and wait for staff to refill the dishes. When they refill th station, they do not return with a full buffet serving which is probably why they keep running out.
Hands down the best Thai food in Calgary, possibly Alberta. Having spent a lot of time in Thailand, I can say this is the only restaurant Ive found in the city that offers such authentic and fantastically delicious food. A bit hard to notice if youre not looking for it, it is upstairs off Stephen Avenue between centre and 1 St SW. Highly recommend trying it if you havent.
Good food
Interior was gorgeous and serves were super nice... but the buffet food was kinda disappointing
Ordered from SkipTheDishes, I don t know if portions are bigger for dine in but definitely really small portions when we got our food, especially the large soup and the curry. Overpriced super small portions. Never ordering here again. If you want excellent Thai cuisine for and get what you pay for, White Elephant is the way to go.
Food and service are consistently good. Menu has good variety.
Great food, but pricey and service was okay
This lunch buffet was small, but the food was outstanding! The only disappoimtment was that they ran out of mango/sticky coconut rice desserts! I will definitely be going back here!
Took them two hours to get an order ready, delivery apparently wasnt available so I had to pick up the food that was sitting on a table cold, never got even a phone call about the order status. Finally got home and there was no rice for the curry. They offered to refund the cost of the rice only. Absolutely garbage service, the food was awful too it went straight into the garbage. Shocked at how bad this place is.
Terrible service, subpar food and very expensive
An excellent buffet with a variety of hot and tasty selection.
Great food.. loved it
Very good food.
Hidden gem. Outside looks unappealing but it is SO GREAT
Such friendly staff! We did the lunch buffet until 2pm and had a lovely time eating del ious Thai food. I would definitely come back here if I m ever in Calgary again!
Lunch buffet was on point! Super fresh and delicious. Great value!
As owner of A Laptop Repair Shoppe, we enjoyed a family event with 12 people, absolutely yummy, the service was great, very authentic tastes and decor.
Best thai food I have ever had!!! Recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food.
Love love love the lunch buffet.
Great variety and quick service. Was quite outstanding to see a full size budist altar embedded inside. Price wise, on the expensive side of things if you buy many dishes and drinks to share as a group. Overall good experience!
Authentic thai experience...
Nice, quiet little restaurant up some stairs on Stephen Ave. Excellent presentation; delicious food.
Went for the lunch buffet today, and it was a terrible experience. There was a lot of rush, but the portions coming in were so tiny that at least half of the dishes were not there at any time. The service was terrible too. Servers looked stressed. The food - whatever was available - was okay, but the overall experiences sucked! When I brought this to the attention of staff and cashier, they didn t bother. Why run a buffet if you can t handle the rush! Never going back there again. DO NOT RECOMMEND! If you like Thai Food, there are so many better options around.
Delicious food options, incredible environment and friendly service.
outstanding food and very authentic food as well as amazing service
We had the best Thai food we have ever had in this restaurant. We visited from England and had the menu for 2 at 40 Canadian dollars. We had Thai spring rolls to start and then Thai green curry and Pad Thai with coconut rice. For pudding we had a selection of jello, sticky rice and something else, not sure what, but was delicious.) The wine and beer were good. Total bill 55 Canadian dollars - really good value.
Poor food quality
Love the coconut cream on the rice and the green curry. Excellent service and great ambience!
Good place for lunch.
Take the stairs up, and you are in a cozy place. Ok, decoration might be a bit overdone - but not the food. Service is as one can expect in an Asian restaurant, very good. Got the fresh spring rolls, which I always need to try in a thai place. Very fresh (veggie ones), and easy to share with two. 4 spring rolls, chopped to 8. Then a red prawn curry with coconut rice. It just tasted very good, very fresh. Nothing beat fresh ingredients. I do not think you can be disappointed here. And it is a nice hide-away from the busy shopping street
Lunch buffet is decent for the price. The desserts are probably the best items on the buffet, especially the mango slices on sticky rice with salted coconut milk!
Place is decorated well, on Stephen Ave but tucked out of the way. Second visit to this restaurant and our experience was not as good as before. Went in a group of 6 for my mom s birthday. Food was so-so. There was an automatic gratuity so service was awful. The servers disappeared for long periods of time to watch tv by the bar.
Picked this place for birthday dinner with family. We were a group of 6 people. We got there at 6.30pm. There were 2 tables of 2 people prior to us. Terrible service as the 2 waitresses were to busy watching television, eating or relaxing by the bar!! We did a lot of waiting for everything including the bill. The food was so so. We had decided to tip accordingly but the bill was with gratuity. We paid without any fuss but we will not be returning and we will not recommend this place which we were impressed with when we went there Stampede time last year. We had, had very good food and very good service.
To me, it seems too many artifacts in one place, sort of like a museum.. I had their buffet and its worth trying ... (and they dont have the thai style spicy food option in buffet) ..
So disappointed in the food , definitely not authentic Thai food. The stuff chicken wings were covered in batter and no stuffing in the chicken. Thai food is rich in spices and flavour, this place does not fit the bill. If youre looking for court food style Thai food this will do but if you want good Thai food this place is disappointing.
My wife and I ordered a green curry chicken and a green curry veg w/ tofu. For what we got the price was a little too expensive. For $16 entrees they should include rice. The fresh spring rolls were not great. They had a disappointingly large amount of vermicelli and iceberg lettuce and a lack of everything else.
More like Chinese food than Thai food
I was genuinely disappointed in the food here - the glass noodles i ordered had no flavour and the beef in them was overcooked to the point you had a hard time chewing it. The spicy shrimp soup also had the shrimips overcooked.
Great Thai buffet and colorful place
Best spring rolls ever!! Melt in your mouth.
Has exotic interior & style that is slightly outdated. Food is great & tasty. Good Thai restaurant in Downtown!
Went for the lunch buffet it good the ladys kept the drinks full And its got a lot of interesting knick-knacks inside of it to look at
Great food at a reasonable price. Love the flavor and options for spice level.
Great food.
