What a fantastic, unique place this is! Food was excellent, service was great, atmosphere amazing and location/venue was stunning. Definitely recommend coming here
Very average food and not friendly service. We were seated close to the entrance and the restaurant was noisy during that evening.
We booked ahead for a combo of Punting down the river and had a meal afterwards... Great day... The river tour was fantastic and we were blessed with the weather too after all the recent rain....The Restaurant was empty when we sat down to eat, so no atmosphere to speak of, but the customer service was spot on.... Nice place...
Food is Simply amazing, deducted one star for slow service because our food was REALLY late to be on our table. However, giving 4 stars for the service because tasty food made up for the delayed service. We had ordered Risotto, Fish and a Pie, with Pea soup and a bread as a side. EVERYTHING was utterly delicious. We opted to sit outside as luckily the sun was shining so having a tasty food while sitting next to water body soaking the sun - it was all perfect. Pricewise it was tad bit on an expensive side but yeah, quality of the food speaks for itself.
Millworks is an amazing place, superb service and staff, wonderful 💯 food, including gluten free (low gluten) options, plus relaxing atmosphere. And the history of the place goes back around 5 centuries. Difficult to choose a restaurant in Cambridge as there are so many, but Millworks was a great success for our special family occasion.
The restaurant is situated by a river and close to Lammas Land Playground. It offers a spacious setting with child-friendly facilities and serves modern British cuisine. We arrived around noon on a Saturday without a reservation, yet the staff promptly arranged a table for us. I highly recommend the slow-cooked beef short rib. The meat is incredibly tender and juicy, with the fat and tendon melting in your mouth. Pouring the gravy over the mash and beef makes for one of the most delicious dishes I've had in the UK. My partner ordered the pie of the day, which was freshly made. The mac and cheese side dish was generous in portion, easily enough for our three-year-old child. The restaurant features a working watermill, which was a delightful attraction for the children. The staff were exceptionally friendly as well. I would definitely visit again if I find myself in Cambridge. We paid £66 for a family of three. ---
We had the best date night, Nora our waitress was absolutely amazing; her opinions and suggestions were so helpful and were very good. the wine we had was the best recommendation yet, we will be back for sure haven’t found a good date night spot until now.
I visited the restaurant, with my coworkers, mid-week for dinner. The place had a nice ambient, warm and pleasant. It is an old mill that has been converted to a modern restaurant. Being close to water, the view is beautiful even late in the evening/night, when it was dark, due to the beautiful lights surrounding the area. It is wheelchair accessible too. The staff were friendly and the food was also good. They offer a variety of meals and desserts and the menu also offers vegetarian dishes. The prices are reasonable. If you’re are planning to visit the restaurant during the summer time or at weekends making reservations is a must.
I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for the amazing experience we had at your restaurant yesterday during our mini Christmas party with my boss. Everything was absolutely perfect - from the delicious food to the warm and festive atmosphere. However, the biggest thank you must go to your Greek server, who truly made our evening so special. Her positive energy and genuine warmth were incredible, and she went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. You are very lucky to have such a wonderful person on your team, and we kindly ask you to pass along our greetings and gratitude to her. She is truly a gem, and she turned our evening into an unforgettable experience. Thank you again for everything, and we look forward to visiting you again soon!
I had lunch here; it was excellent. Im looking forward to returning. A lovely location, and beautifully decorated.
We went to the Millworks for lunch and had a most enjoyable visit. The setting and ambiance are delightful, the food was delicious, the wine was very good and reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. We were very well looked after in a most friendly and courteous manner. Very many thanks. We will certainly be back and would thoroughly recommend the Millworks to anyone who is looking for something special.
We had a great meal here, all staff were very attentive and welcoming. We had the lamb shank and the warm Harrissa sauce with mussels for mains and this was so yummy, scrumptious deliciousness. Salute to the chef we came to Cambridge for a weekend break and this was the cherry on the top. We both went home back to London very happy and satisfied. If your in Cambridge, this local restaurant is a must try
Nice setting, good meal.
A very warm welcome set us off to a good start. We had the working mill next to us in full view, which was a nice touch. Our waiter was friendly and very funny, a trait rare to find. We did have a bit of a wait but there was 5 of us and took a while to select our options. We were meeting up with my daughter and so this was fine with us. The fish of the day was a favourite of mine, Seabass which was a whole seabass and cooked perfectly. The accompanying sauce was divine . My husband had the black treacle pork chop and begrudgingly let me have a bit. Oh wow, I then had food envy. All in all, fantastic service, fantastic food and very aesthetic interior.. they even had my favourite tv show Blackadder playing over the speakers in the toilet! Going back when I can!
Lovely dining experience had here. The waiter was funny and quick-witted with attentiveness that was at the right measure. My seabass was cooked to perfection, and my husband chose the pork chop, again perfectly cooked with a tasty sauce. Definitely visit again!
The burger was nicely cooked but too thick if thats possible. And of course its a tidy penny. Somewhat made up for by the 10\10 onion rings
The restaurant was busy. I definitely recommend you book. We arrived early, though our table was ready we elected to have a drink in the bar while we perused the menu. Sat next the water mill. Lovely sight. Food was good, as was the service.
Our first visit to The MillWorks was amazing! I had the liver parfait and the taste and texture were absolutely out of this world! My friend has the butternut squash soup and it was so silky and tasty. Our service was excellent and we even met the chef at our table! I would definitely come back to this restaurant!
Nick who served us is not the only dish of the day and he was attentive, delightful, efficient and super handsome. What more could you want when out for a meal with your little sister.
A great place in Cambridge, near the river, picturesque and with good food
Came for a quick lunch on a busy Sunday and because we were struggling for time we went straight to mains and ordered Picanha steak and the Ribeye with sides. Lady who was serving us said that it wouldn t be possible to get these cuts with Yorkshire puddings and veggies as the chef didn t like to make changes, which was fair enough so we ordered some sides to go with it instead. The food came out really quickly, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. The ribeye steak, which was done to medium rare, was tough and chewy and would definitely not recommend it. Overall, the atmosphere and service were very good, but food simply not to scratch. We have tried food here few times before but it has always left us a bit disappointed. Would recommend for drinks as the setting is very pretty.
We had the Sunday roast, beef was delicious but we were a little shocked with the lack of veg and gravy for the price - veg is the cheapest part of a roast, seems a strange thing to skimp on. Otherwise would have been 5 stars all round.
Excellent food, excellent service. We always love to come here for family meals. The view is a bonus. Attentive and very kind staff.
Went for a works outing at lunch time. The food, beer and service were excellent. The medium rare steak we really good.
Nice modern restaurant with a touch of history. Nice food! Food
Great staff and food Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: Yes Parking: Taxi Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Lovely place to come and eat, I had the duck bon bons and the lamb rump, tasty!
lovely food and wine will go back x
Food was okay but please be very careful. When I went there I noticed after paying that the charges on the bill did not correspond to the menu and I was overcharged. When I challenged it they took ages to resolve it and then gave a refund that did not account for the service charge (which they subsequently rounded down when I had to challenge that). Even if the overcharge was a simple error the way they managed it was disappointing.
Everything, from the warm welcome to the food, to the service and overall atmosphere was flawless. Couldn t recommend this place enough!
Good atmosphere. But a long wait for food. Food was average at best.
Nicely refurbished, modern, good food. Have kept well. Very friendly staff.
Came here for Sunday lunch. Perfectly fine service, if a little slow and unfriendly. Food was just OK: really nice roast beef, but underwhelming vegetables and everything a little under temperature. Puddings were nice.
Wonderful place with delicious food. Worth a visit if you want to enjoy the tasty British food for lunch or dinner in Cambridge.
Great ales and largers, sea bass skin was chewy and not that flaky, great parings of flavours and textures otherwise and a sticky toffee pudding to die for
Had dinner here and was warmly welcomed by the staff. The service was exceptional, and I would definitely return when I m in Cambridge. I enjoyed the glazing platter with the sirloin on the bone, and I highly recommend the pork cutlet.
Had a family meal here, we sat outside with a view and fantastic service, and the food was delicious. Inside there is a lovely working water wheel and super bar.
Great location, good food and friendly staff. Please do not automatically add a 12,5% service charge and a 1 £ donation to the bill. Please leave this to the customer.
Went for the Steak, Rib sharing platter, but it wasnt on the menu. Went wrong time, I suppose; little disappointed. Chips were a little dry.
Really good food and service, just be aware it gets noisy in the mill wheel area otherwise great
We sat outside at dinner time - there are no lights at all, we were eating in total darkness. The food was nice, but it took 1h20m to get to our table after ordering, it s seriously a lot. Plus, waiters were generally rude and unbothered. Not a nice experience.
Great everything
The service is very good. Homemade soup is my favorite. Medium steak is also delicious. Highly recommended.
Went there with my partner and her service dog, after a few hours of driving. This place is right next to a Punting area, so its really beautiful. Homemade bread with oil and balsamic was delicious. I went for the Pie of the Day, which was Chicken, Leek and mushroom and my partner had the Vegetable Risotto. Theres also Rosti chips which are layered potatos then deep fried, these were incredible. Staff were welcoming and accommodated our needs really well. Get to this place early and sit outside if you can, the interior where we sat was beautiful as well. Thanks for having us.
Great place for myself, my partner, and her Service Dog. Greated warmly, and food was so delicious, I kind of inhaled my food. The Pie and the Risotto were awesome. Millworks makes its own bread, so definitely give that a try. Thanks for having us.
Family treat day, amazing steaks and a great sharing platter, all demolished. Just enough space for an expertly baked dark sticky toffee pud.
Had a great meal at the Millworks today. Brilliant staff. Really lovely people. Thank you Food
Love this restaurant but the service was not up to scratch today. Dont get me wrong, the team are lovely, but balls were getting dropped and it wasnt that busy. Dietary restrictions: If youre not a carnivorous sort of person, this restaurant may not be for you. Kid-friendliness: Relaxed atmosphere, space for highchairs.
A restaurant where dogs are accepted but not black women. my friend and I came for lunch, she was wearing a top deemed too revealing by the waitress. My friend was asked to cover herself, or we d have to leave . It was a strange antagonism - rudely delivered. We were generally well-dressed, and had been polite. It was humiliating for my friend. We couldn t make any sense of it. We both came to the same conclusion - that there is only one conclusion for such treatment . p.s. the waitress involved was a middle-aged brunette and was working the outside on 03.08.24
The food is delicious and the restaurant is comfortable and beautifully designed with a mill inside We ordered seafood feast, pie of the day, mac and cheese
Such a view along with fabulous food! This restaurant has history, ambiance, and great service. Highly recommend.
Very nice atmosphere sat outside by the water. Food was great and service was bang on. Will be returning again.
Lunch of hamburgers. The food was excellent. Courteous and attentive service. Excellent atmosphere.
My wife and I had lunch here today. For the main course we both took the traditional Sunday Roast. It was very good and tasty. My wife has a celiac disease but it wasn t a problem: they had gluten free options for celiacs! The restaurant has a beautiful view to the pond and river. Kindly and helpful staff was the cherry on the cake. Great experience and we ll visit again!
Lovely old Victorian pub overlooking the river. Nice outdoor seating with a view
Wonderful food served by conscientious staff at a fair cost.
Tasty food, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere. Always love the Millworks, one of my favourite Cambscuisine restaurants.
Nice food, good service.
Nice outdoor area and exceptional services!! Love their Sunday roast chicken
Average at most. Ok food but overpriced. Similar to an American restaurant in terms of price/quality ratio. We had to choose from a two courses menu ; many options were not available. I waited to get a specific dessert which we learned afterwards was not available and then still had to pay the full price. Long waiting time (to get water, etc) and personnel so-so friendly. Would avoid although the waterwheel is an interesting feature. Had to pay 12.5% charge on top.
Really great location, lovely food but central London prices. Blackadder playing over speakers in the toilet made for a more pleasant experience!
Terrible floppy, soggy squid - sold as Crispy buttermilk squid, yuk! Feedback but no response. Disappointed
Amazing inside and picturesque area outside, dine in or out, lovely staff, some parking around, delicious food Parking: Parking along the park area
The salad and meat were both fresh and tasted as expected.
Good food and service but didn t expect to pay a 12.5% service fee. Not sure if that s only for patrons from the US? Nick our server deserved it so I didn t question it.
Great vibe with touristy priced food and New York street style service. We wont be a tourist next time.
Cute place in a great location. Came on a nice summers day for a meal outside, which was lovely right by the water with ample opportunities for people watching. Staff was friendly and funny. I had the Lamb Rump which was good but not great, some of the other items on the menu look like maybe they could be better!
Decent food , nice atmosphere and average service.
Average food, bad service and expensive. They included a donation to a charity in the final without asking us. Unbelievable. They staff was slow and not very friendly. The waitress got upset after my friend turned on a button to called the service and she asked him to switch it off. However, it was because it took them 20 minutes to bring 3 drinks. On top of that, they brought the wrong drinks. The food was nothing special. No much flavour in the hummus or the chicken shawarma. The flat bread looked good but tasted like cheap bread from a supermarket. I wont recommend this place.
Some of the best service Ive ever experienced in Cambridge! Friendly, knowledgeable staff, all with excellent senses of humor - plus great food to boot. Perfect for a colleague dinner, and cant wait to return with family!
The spiced grilled corn looked and tasted as if it had been grilled several days earlier. And not a jot of spice, not even salt and pepper Parking: count on walking from nearby streets if you are lucky enough to find free parking nearby
Nice view on the tables outside and excellent service. The waiter was very friendly and he served me coffee even before the opening time! (I didnt realise they werent open yet) A very nice welcome to Cambridge. Thank you!!!
A lovely local pub with a beautiful outside seating area looking over the river. Good food and fast service. The site was once where the mill was located...you can still admire the mill wheel inside
Food took 30 minutes and was cold when it arrived. When we asked the waiter, he said Its a Saturday, before eventually saying that food should not be cold...I wont be eating there again.
Ive seen bad service and good service but never experienced a true racist restaurant experience. Its not just one person who was rude to us. Multiple people who interacted with us treated us like second class citizens and there was nothing wrong on our end except for being brown. They sat us in a dark corner and didnt look at us for an hour and served an hour later ignoring our requests. We asked them to remove the service charge and add double that amount to the charity charge to which they gave us one final scoff. Food was as good as any restaurant. Their front office staff is clearly unhinged. I wouldnt have posted this if it was just subtle racism that we see everyday. This was in our face and sad for Cambridge overall.
Had a long wait for food, but, well worth it, food was excellent, pity it rained as outside is lovely to sit near the river
Very good food and atmosphere. Attentive service. Highly recommended!
Great vibe, food and drinks! Nick, the chap who looked after us, was so lovely
Wonderful summer dinner, nice atmosphere and service. Thank you.
It is not the British way to add service charge to the bill. That is a nasty way of doing business here. If you copy that way from other countries it means you are not paying living wages to your employees. If you dont, it only means you want rip people off by not showing the customer the final price. Stop doing this, please. Bad.
Great experience from excellent quality of ingredients in the food to staff friendliness, everything was phenomenal. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Cambridge
We had the private dining area booked for our meal after the wedding. It was a small and intimate event and MillWorks went above and beyond to cater to all our requirements. They helped us decorate the place and even cancelled the food of a few people that had to cancel last minute. It was just perfect. A special thanks to Angel and his team. Highly recommend!!!!
Delicious food, friendly service, nice location, but quite pricey
Excellent food in an excellent environment. Highly recommended.
What an amazing place to have a meal. We had a great experience today, the staff was outstanding, kind, welcoming and caring! Food was amazing and Our toddler had a blast, the atmosphere was calm and the place is beautiful and clean. We will definitely be back. Thank you
Amazing staff, food and place. Lovely location. 10/10 Food
Very good restaurant! Food was pricey, but really good value for money. The food had a premium taste, like the best quality produce was selected. The ice cream was amazing, really creamy, and the flavours were exciting. From start to finish, the service was... BRILLIANT!. We will DEFINITELY be going back, and we will DEFINITELY recommend this restaurant.
Highly recommend, staff superb, food excellent
This beautiful location is located on the edge of the center. Excellent food and very friendly staff.
I only had an ice-cream so it wouldnt be fair to make any judgement on the food here. The service was good and the place itself is kept to a high standard in appearance and cleanliness. I will definitely be back to eat here in the future.
Disappointing experience. When we arrived they had no table for us even though we had a booking. The staff were helpful and managed to get a table for us pretty quickly. However, the table was set up in the middle or 2 hen parties, not exactly what you want as a couple. The waiter was very attentive and the food came very quickly but the quality was poor and it felt rushed. We had steak as our main and the quality of the meat was poor. The chips werent cooked properly. We were offered a coffee on the house after our meal but we left after our mains.
I booked for my friends 30th and put this on the booking. When we arrived the staff were so friendly. They had put a birthday banner on the table. We had a table right next to the Mill. We had cocktails, which were reasonable and a variety of options. The food was delicious. A variety of options were on the menu. Options for Vegetarians. There is a button to call the staff. Service was quick. Staff were so friendly, which added to the experience. We enjoyed our meals and had a great time, thank you.
Went to grab an ice cream before punting. The ice cream was declious. But the place seems under staffed, therefore it took a while to get it. But worth the wait
Had such a lovely dinner at Millworks, food was delicious, service was beyond amazing! Really recommend the spring vegetable risotto.
Waited for the food for exactly an hour but still didn t came. Asked us to leave instead. Extremely poor attitude with the waitress and GM which didn t even apologise for the long wait. Highly not recommend unless you have plenty of time waiting
Very average food - roast was a little disappointing P.S definitely not 5 starts as per owners reply :) Food
Booked a table for 3pm for a special birthday and visitors from Oz..had to go and get our drinks from the bar (sitting on the counter) the ice had melted at 4pm... POOR SERVICE ALL ROUND WILL NOT GO AGAIN AND WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND !
Great food, ultra-attentive service with lovely staff. Some slightly tipsy and loud tables near us was unfortunate but not the fault of the restaurant that was otherwise delightful.
An excellent restaurant with good lunch specials. They served us with care and we sat next to the awesome water wheel, which was a nice touch.
Excellent experience at MillWorks! I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious Sunday roast, which was simply divine. The service provided by the waiter was exceptional, attentive, and friendly throughout the meal. The restaurants atmosphere is warm and inviting, making the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick and tasty meal.
Had a coffee there, it was great, amazing scenery as well and inside is good too
Wonderfully helpful staff.
We stopped in to this lovely restaurant mid afternoon for drinks. We were warmly greeted by three of the service people. There is real ambiance here with the history of the mill, the beautiful dining room and the passion for food and service of the employees. It was clean, organized, friendly, inviting and we cant wait to come back for a memorable dinner here soon. Thank you, MillWorks.
The food was lovely ,huge choice ,all the staff were friendly and helpful a brilliant place for a meal or just a drink , lovely inside with the water mill as a feature and beautiful views of the river definitely going back
First visit to restaurant during visit to Cambridge. Great choice and an even greater restaurant experience. Food
Nine of us headed to Millworks to celebrate an 18th birthday. The atmosphere, food and service leant themselves to a relaxed and fun afternoon. The staff were pleasant, the food was good, and the location is lovely. One small request - it would be possible for a diner not to know that they had to press the button on the wall to get service. Given the size of our group, it would have been great to have had a reminder.
Lovely place with great service and amazing food. I highly recommend sticky toffee pudding
Excellent food, the halloumi burger, mussels and sticky toffee pudding were great. Beautiful location, building, atmosphere and service. 5 stars.
Great place! Super location. Lovely premises with the millwheel as an attraction. Delicious food and a very welcoming and attentive service. Is a good venue for a romantic dinner or family lunch. Booking advised - very busy on weekends. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available. Menu for colouring.
5 updated to 5, if you pick the right meat/fish dishes. The stuffed bell peppers are lovely. I didn t expect the pepper being pickled, as opposed to the more common grilled version, but it is really zingy and refreshing. Sour cream is a little overpowering on the other hand. Lam shank pot pie! Sheep flavor, love or hate it. Meat is super tender with beautiful tendon. Puff pastry comes in a healthy not-too-thick amount. The gravy is alright and can have some more complexity in flavoring and content other than the brown stock and carrots (although this is quite classical in Britain I guess). Mashed potato is lovely, especially the slightly dried bits on top. It s not too heavy either and goes well with the pie. The cabbage offers a good veggie portion. 4 Friendly service with nice grills. Tomahawk is beautiful, tender and flavorful, tasty without any sauces. Chips and onion rings are still soft. Crispy squid only have a few crispy spots, but there s finally more squid than batter and it doesn t seem oily, so pretty nice. Would prefer the mayo sauce to be on the side though it s quite overpowering. Homemade focaccia is more like normal white toast and would definitely benefit from a toast to search warm and crispy before serving. Seasonal veggies look simple but is surprisingly seasoned with crispy mint. Quite oily though. 3 Popped in for lunch with friend s family. A new menu again, from Mediterranean to British this time. The steak mushroom ale pie is delicious. The filling is flavorful and the crust is crunchy and not too heavy. The whole sea bass is tender and fresh. The pork belly has crispy fatty parts and tender flavorful flesh. Fried chicken wings are also quite nice. The veggies, however, are mainly peas and beans simply British. Food is still a little slow. -/- 2nd visit Crispy filo shell, warmly spiced chicken filling. The garlicky spicy hummus adds a kick, while the hoisin sauce gives a fun twist, reminding me of Peking duck wraps. The venison steak was cooked perfectly, beautiful and tender. Seasoning-wise, I am not a fan of peppercorn sauce/red wine gravy in general the tastier, more flavorful chermoula only comes as a few drizzles on the cabbage. Hope the steak can actually get it too! The potato rosti is buttery and herby. So I stack them with the steak. The dessert display right at the entrance looks very attractive, to the extent of evil enticement ;) and I ve been eyeing the ice creams since last summer. Guess I ll get a scoop soon. Food came quite fast, but I waited for about an hour for my bill. Next time I ll bring a reading lamp. My eyes hurt in the romantic flickering of candle flame. I left the restaurant literally minutes before it s closure. (It s also fun to eavesdrop scholars from my field of research, though I didn t dare to turn around lest there are familiar faces.) Ice cream update: Been thinking about these since last summer and finally give in. Nice selection of flavors from the local ice cream company. The espresso bean is less intense than what the name suggests more like coffee toffee candy. Had a taste of the ginger root one out of curiosity. Very gingerly indeed. Will probably get this one next time :D 1st visit Millworks punt was lovely, especially with those fried Halloumi sticks. The rocket leaves make me feel less guilty. The squash hummus is a little too salty and overpowering more like a spiced dip than hummus or squash. My friend says the pulled pork was far too sweet Maybe there s too much ketchup.
The food is very nice and the staff are very helpful but for some reason they refuse to close the front door even though they have the heating on which makes the whole of the restaurant uncomfortably cold they say it is their policy not to have the door closed which is not in Keeping with most places policy of trying to save energy.
Visited with a large group of work colleagues - the food was good, but slow, servers weren t very attentive, but not a huge problem. Probably a better experience with a 2-4 person table.
We visited yesterday for lunch time drinks, and loved the vibe. We booked a table for the evening and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly, enthusiastic and the restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere.
A forgettable CambsCuisine below-par experience: Millworks. Group Christmas dinner at Millworks. 14 people. Meals were pre-ordered from a fixed Christmas-menu some weeks prior. All meals delivered as ordered. The whole establishment was not full, but there were other Christmas diners. Perhaps half full. The ambiance nice within the establishment. Staff pleasant and helpful. Christmas crackers on hand to keep the mood festive. Regrettably the eating experience however was below par for what shouldve been better @£38 pp for 3 courses. The good: flavour, texture, temperature. Duck croquets with apricot. Carrot/ginger/coconut soup. Beatroot & parsnip terrine. Butternut squash & lentil wellington. Venison pie. Chocolate delice. Orange & baileys burnt cream (brullee). The below-par: cold, tough, dry, lower than expected quality, lacking in flavour: Prawn & Avocado & Crayfish cocktail. Sirloin steak & chips. Turkey ballotine. Sticky Toffee pudding. Christmas pudding & bread butter pudding. Group bookings are always difficult for all dishes to be served at the same time. It was however regrettably obvious that insufficient care was placed on the quality, flavour & temperature of some of the dishes served. It wasnt horrible. Just below par, inconsistent, forgettable. Will go back for a drink but will dine elsewhere in future.
Lovely meal, good service and a good selection of drinks
Food was absolutely delicious 5 stars I ordered whole sea bass and it was the best I ever have Huge compliment to chef I put 4 stars for the atmosphere is only because the seats are too hard and not enough comfortable (but maybe it s just for me:)) apart of it the whole experience was great and i definitely comeback again. Highly recommended Thank you. Dinner on 31/12/2023
I love millworks - good food, changing menus, nice atmosphere
Restaurant nicely restored on a old mill with exceptional food and great service. We had great experience with Nora. Would definitely return in future.
I had a great dinner experience. The food was amazing. I would definitely go back to try the other dishes on the menu.
Very nice food, staff attentive and polite. Nice feel inside and am sure sitting outside by the river.
Lovely place with a spectacular view, the very professional manager found us a comfortable table and on a beautiful view, my cocktail fantastic.
I loved the ambiance of the place. Amazing interiors with a water wheel in the restaurant, great bar ! The outdoor sitting has a view of the Cam river with people punting ! Ordered a veg wellington where we were expecting a full piece but only got a cut. Onion rings with sriracha mayo was goooood! OTT - local brewed beer was good and tad bit expensive! Aperol Spritz was good! Not as bitter Vegetarian options: Mushroom wellington Onion rings
Small but lovely outside eating/drinking area where you can sit and watch the punters :)
Food really not great poor quality & not cooked correctly!! very disappointing! staff were lovely
Fantastic place, when its full there it was a walk around when everyone was talking.
Chicken Supreme was really good Burrata was good too. Just a heads up, pesto goes really well with focaccia, slightly less well with burrata. Overall, good experience! Food
Food is quite nice, the location is really beautiful and staff is kind. But service could be more smooth. It was all a bit slow and I felt I had to struggle to get someones attention for every step of my meal here, even though it was not very busy.
Great place to sit, chat, drink.. Vegetarian options: Risotto Parking: Many options
Fish was horrendously over cooked and roast potatoes may well have just been boiled. Nobody checked how the food was so couldn t even ask for a replacement. My partner enjoyed the mussels however, but the bread that came with the mussels was horribly underbaked and turned the dough as soon as it was pressed.
Great food. We enjoyed our meal before starting river punting even though we were on a tight schedule. Our waitress, Jem, was very helpful and guided us through the menu and proactively ensured that we had the food served on time so that we would not be late for the punting trip even when the restaurant was quite busy. Highly recommend this place.
Their burglar alarm started going off at 4am and is still keeping the entire neighborhood up at 7am. Nobody came to disable or even investigate. Totally irresponsible.
My wife and I had to find a restaurant for an early dinner when taking a friend from overseas to see Cambridge and I chose this place. I was very happy with my choice. A pretty location convenient for The Backs, very good food and very good service.
The place is really nice, unfortunately we had the monster ribs which were under seasoned and a bit too fatty for our taste. Would visit again but avoid the ribs
My food was lovely my husband was not too happy with his ribeye as it was fatty and expensive (£37) but the staff was friendly and the place nice, although noisy (there was a large group next to us and that didnt help).
The bench table was so uncomfortable we had to change table midway dinner
Great tasting food
Nice place for a date night!
I was there yesterday (Sunday) with my family. I found it totally unprofessional that the waiter with the long hair/facial growth swore on 2 seperate occasions. I admit it did not appear to be directed at anyone - but it is crude and not called for when I am out for a dining experience. If he denies this, he is a liar. He did it twice in earshot of us.
Very nice place, the old Mill on the water is a perfect place for a lunch or dinner with a beautifull view. The food is very tasty and rich, the staff is amazing and Angelo the manager is extremely professional and welcoming. totally recommended Food
Good food and excellent service
My steak was burnt ( I asked for well done) and my daughters wrap was a bit smelly because of the cheese inside. I recommend not to use that strong cheese and rockets as they are not suitable for children.
A visit back in time!! Last time i was here, it was Sweeney Todds. Great Sunday roast Food
Food quality is average
The waiter had a very bad attitude towards us. After we were seated, every table had water, except for our table. He didnt introduce us to the menu when we asked him about it. He waved us to wait before the final checkout, but we had to wait for a long time. We had to pay separately. The clerk was rude and didnt let us confirm the bill again. The overall experience was very bad and the food was mediocre.
It s delicious, and I recommend the Mill work burger! It s by the tranquil Jian River, and the scenery is great! The staff is also very friendly!
Place is well decorated and the atmosphere is great however they messed up my order twice. I ordered a millworks burger and they came with a halumi one. Second time they came with the burger and the beef patty was raw. They also put pickles in which I specifically requested to be removed.
Went here just before punting; we had a chocolate delice and mulled wine (both of which were full of flavor!). Also really fast service and nice to see the actual mill wheel inside! ++ great view outside
The atmosphere was amazing, especially the mill!
Great place, with great food and service, strictly recommended
Had a great evening here. The service was excellent and the dishes were quite nice. The ambience was great and our server George was efficient and witty. Would definitely come again here. Vegetarian options: Not that many mains options for veg, just a couple of dishes. Starters and sides have a lot of veg options.
Superb, great food, friendly staff, nice chat with the Lady from Greece! Stuart from Addingham, Yorkshire.
Fab roast. Lovely atmosphere. Potatoes could have been crispier
Good and fresh food. The location is beautiful: very close to the river Cam. There is a good selections of drinks. It Is Ideal for business lunch.
Great festive atmosphere, tasty food and super friendly, attentive and professional staff. Warmly recommend! Will definitely come back. Vegetarian options: Tasty haloumi burger served with salad and chips.
