24A Mill Rd, Petersfield, Cambridge CB1 2AD, United Kingdom
Classic Chinese meals featuring noodles & dumplings, with booth seating & counter service.
The best dumplings I’ve had! The handmade noodles were also delicious 😋 Be sure to queue just before 12, as there isn’t much space inside so expect a 30+ min wait if you don’t get in first. For such an amazing selection of food, it’s very cheap too!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Cambridge. The service is just amazing—charming, friendly, and always with a smile. The staff’s humble nature makes the wait for a table totally worth it. The homemade noodles and dumplings are incredible, and combined with the great atmosphere, it’s an experience I look forward to every weekend. It’s a small place, but you can really tell the care and commitment they put into every dish. I highly encourage everyone to try it, and if you don’t know what to order, ask the lady—she’s awesome and will always give you the best advice, with a delicious result every time.
Our favourite restaurant in Cambridge. We visited often when we lived there, and usually tried to arrive just before opening to avoid the long queues. The xiao long baos are a must order. We also loved to get the pan fried dumplings and noodles with minced pork to complete our order for two. The dumplings were consistently crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and the handmade noodles had a delicious springy bite. Always good with a soy milk on the side. A must visit in Cambridge !
Xiao Long Bao is best ! All other food is yummy with the heart of homemade style. Dip the dumplings (either steamed or fried) in their homemade chilli sauce and ginger vinegar together taste becomes another level. Noodles are with chewy homemade texture, in good soup base and generous amount of veg~ superb ! The lady owner is kind and friendly, her husband is the “star”chef ~ highly recommend their restaurant!
Best steam buns (and most juicy!) I have ever had!! Don’t think there is a single item in the menu that I wouldn’t order again. Most the time have to queue and wait patiently as all the food is hand made freshly when you ordered, but it’s all worth the wait.
The food was good, the taste quite accomodating to cater the asian taste, however the service was slow and the preparation took more time that was expected. The dishes mainly comprises noodles and dumplings. The noodles are freshly prepared, the dumplings are hand made. The savour is close to ordinary meals we would expect in asian countries.
It’s very tasty. Everything is freshly made, such as the noodles and dumplings. The restaurant has only 2 people preparing the food. Even though the wait may be long, it’s definitely worth!!
Lovely food. Nice staff. Suitable for vegetarians. Note: cash only Cosy restaurant, only 3-4 tables quite closely together. There are vegetarian options but they're not clearly labelled on the menu with 'v' or 'vg'. Staff are friendly. She told me the three vegetarian options which I was quite happy with, either dumplings with egg (not suitable for vegans), dried noodles with veggies, or noodles and veggies in soup. There are no steps going into the venue but it is tight on space. We didn't see a bathroom but a lady did ask to wash her hands and was allowed to do so so it's possible there is a bathroom behind the counter. It's possible to take away food if there's some left over. Food took around 45 mins but was fresh and tasty. A filling meal for 2 was around £38 (with two small bottles of water).
Probably one of the best noodle places in the city. It d do quite well competing in a large city too.
I struggled to write this review because I was overwhelmed with how much I love this place. It is hands-down my FAVOURITE restaurant in Cambridge. The owner is incredibly welcoming, and everything is freshly made from the dumplings and noodles to the mouthwatering xiao long bao! On our last visit, we had springy scallion noodles with tender beef, a mix of flavorful meat dumplings, and juicy xiaolongbao. Every dish was, as always, absolutely delicious. This restaurant is a fantastic spot for a satisfying and affordable meal. I recommend it to everyone. Just a heads-up: Seating is limited, and it fills up quickly, so aim to get there earlier than you plan. There s a queue for a reason
I am a big fan of Noodles Plus Plus. The service is great, the good is incredible and very reasonably priced. The long line at the door tells you how good they are!
Incredible
If you want some damn good food go here.
I arrived at the restaurant at 2:30 pm and there were already two families before me. I waited until 3:30 pm to be seated. Once inside, I noticed there were only two staff members working, which explained the long wait and the disorganization in seating customers. After being seated, I placed my order immediately, but it took over 60 minutes for the food to arrive. During this time, despite the staff knowing how long I had waited outside, I wouldn t recommend this restaurant to others, as the wait was far too long. The only decent dishes were the xiao long bao and dumplings. The noodles and all the other dishes were terrible. It was a complete waste of time and money.
Super great food!! worth the wait
Worth the queue. Despite the name, the dumplings are the real attraction here, particularly the xiao long bao. The food here is consistently delicious and excellent value, though you can expect to wait about 30 minutes for a table. The couple who run this place work tremendously hard and have built a really lovely addition to this part of Cambridge. Beware, its cash only.
Great food and atmosphere! Their Xiao bao s are awesome :)
Not able to pay with a card and quite slow.
For me it is one of the best places in the world. Please try the xia long bao, they will always be in my heart.
Delicious homemade food, nice staff, cheap prices Our true recommendations Food
Stopped by with a friend on a rainy Thursday evening, shes a huge fan and I wanted to understand what the fuss was about! As other reviewers have said, the Xiaolongbao are a must buy. The broth is savoury and delicious and theyre incredibly moreish. We ordered a set of pork and chive dumplings, some spicy pork noodles and black fungus. There was more than enough food for the two of us, and each dish was delicious. As mentioned before, the team working here are small but incredibly attentive and welcoming. Ill definitely be back, its definitely worth the wait! Parking: Parking available at the nearby multi story car park
The xiaolongbao is very good and the noodles are all handmade. The waiting time was quite long, about an hour during dinner time.
Love this place! The lady is so kind! The dumplings are delicious and good value for money !!!!!!!
Noodle Plus offers large portions with delicious, flavorful dishes. Even after closing, the owner kindly lets customers stay to finish their meals, showing a strong focus on hospitality and customer care. Highly recommended for a satisfying, unhurried dining experience!
Early dinner so no need to wait. Amazing Xiao Long Bao. Soup in it! Really comparable to . Noodle is surprising chewy like handmade. Dumpling is also hand made grade. Portion is enough for one or two people. Must try this lovely restaurant if you like real Northern Chinese noodle and dumplings.
Amazing food with fantastic flavours. Everything is prepared fresh on site. Really worth the (long) wait to get a table and get served. This place is cash only.
Its absolutely delicious. Also, the mother is very lovely and overall I am satisfied with 5 stars. Since its run by two people, the turnover rate isnt that high, so you have to watch the line and enter at the right time. I also bought meat buns as a souvenir and they were great.
Best Chinese restaurant in Cambridge!! Absolutely delicious dumplings, noodles and xiaolongbao. Authentic flavours and lovely mom and pop vibe. It s a bit of a wait for dinner but so worth the wait. Top tip: it s cash only! You won t regret coming here!
Ok Xiao Long Pao but awful nooldes.
Good food, real Chinese taste, all freshly hand made. However the waiting time is a bit too long.
Had some fantastic meal here on mill road. This is by far one of the noodles Ive had in a while On the menu we had, dumplings (10), and noodles (15, 16). Very nice and decently cosy experience. You should come with cash, couldnt pay by card though. Otherwise, great experience overall!
Only cash
I also came here because of the recommendation from other Taiwanese friends. There are only about five tables in the store, so you will need to queue up at the door during meal time. The noodles are all handmade in the store, and the steamed dumplings are full of soup and taste good. The price is between £8.5-£9, and there are only a couple working in the store, so the waiting time took about half an hour. Cash only
Better than Din Tai Fung. Hidden gem in Cambridge. Authentic handmade dumplings, order the Xiao long bao and Dumpling with prawn pork and chive we got half fried with chilli oil. Amazing food!!!
2h wait at 6pm on Sunday - 30m to get seated, 90m to get the food. Food itself was about average (thick skins on the Xiao Long Baos). Definitely not worth waiting for, especially for 2h. Very disappointed.
Extraordinary Chinese restaurant. Without a doubt one of the best in the UK. Its worth standing in line and waiting because the food is delicious!! It is also very cheap and affordable in England.
My favourite place to eat in Cambridge.
Best noodles and dumplings I ve ever had!! My favourite restaurant in Cambridge! It s cash only (co op nearby with cash machine).
Mom and pop shop with delicious dumplings and noodle soup! The wait is a bit long since it s only 2 people working, but it s worth it. You can tell the noodles and dumplings are hand made and not frozen stuff from the supermarket. Prices are very affordable too, a bowl of noodles is under 10£. Would recommend! Food
Cash only place, space is very small, might have to wait in line for a while. The lady is very sweet and friendly. Food is very good.
The best gyoza Ive ever had
Delicious homemade dumplings and soup!
The best Xiao-long-bao I have had in the UK. Having proper soup inside. The picky bit is that the restaurant is too small and having too few seats. May consider adding some seats outside
2hr wait time mediocre food
The partner is very nice, but what a waiting time!!! the advantage is everything is prepared on site in front of you, but very disappointed with the meal. Too salty. Please note, they only accept cash payment.
Everything good!
I have dreams about this food... The most amazing EVERYTHING. You cant go wrong with this menu. Bonus: The owners are fantastic, hard-working, lovely people. Food
Great food, but not worth the wait
Fantastic, very delicious!
Very good food run by by mum and pop. May have to wait a bit for your food if it is full but definitely worth it. Would recommend:)
The food was ok. The dumplings are good. Noodles average. The restaurant is small, old looking, and you ll be sat toe to toe with other diners because of this. Not an ideal place for a date or large group. But here s the thing. We arrived at 12:00 when they opened and had ordered by 12:05. At 12:50 we asked if the food was almost ready as I had to leave for work (it was Friday lunch) and they quoted 30 more minutes! After explaining to, albeit the lovely, waitress (other reviews are correct, there is one chef and one waitress) that I literally could not do that. They then managed to get the food to us in ten minutes. Which I m sure probably damaged the quality of the dishes but at least I got to eat. All this, whilst queues of people built up outside. Ludicrous. It truly is not worth it. Go elsewhere.
Excellent food, freshly made to order. Probably some of the best xialongbao in the UK. Certainly in Cambridge.
Best restaurant in Cambridge
Delicious dumplings, soup dumplings & noodles at a good price. We go here often and it never disappoints- definitely the best in Cambridge!
Really enjoyed the lovely foods this small restaurant has offered at affordable price
Best noodles and dumpling in Cambridge. All home made even noodles. Very attentive and good service. Highly recommended
The best Udon noodles in Cambridge and I loved the custard bun plus the lady is so sweet
be prepared to wait a while but this the best Chinese restaurant in Cambridge, maybe even in the UK, IMHO
The line and wait time is really long but definitely worth it, I ll keep on coming here for a long time Wheelchair accessibility: It is not very wheelchair accessible as it s a small restaurant
The best Xiao Long Bao/ fresh noodles in Cambridge!!! This place serves authentic and tasty Chinese food!!! Amazing freshly handmade dumplings and noodles! You must try!!! Tips: Depending on the time of your intended visit, you probably have to wait in a long queue Therefore, try to visit outside rush hours as there are a limited number of seating. All in all I would say it is definitely worth waiting. Cash only payment
As it says in the previous comments the place is not that big hence there is a queue sometimes to get a table. Our food was made fresh and you can see the actual cook preparing it, however the waiting time for our food was over an hour. The shop is only run by two lovely people so expect things to take some time. I couldnt see any bathroom facilities and the shop only accepted cash at my last visit.
A+ noodles
Extremely tasty, hand made dumplings and buns, friendly. Quiet. Walk-in only, cash only. Food
Im just talking about my personal experience. Opening a Chinese restaurant makes money from Chinese people. When foreigners come, they are as enthusiastic as dogs. When Chinese people come, their faces are as cold as ice. The little sweet potato is indeed not a lie. If you dont want to be angry, you should not come here. Alright
The place is so small and the wait is so long in the cold air. Took around half an hour to get inside the door, and one hour has past, not even soya milk is served. I don t understand why it takes forever for them to make the food, are they feeding the pig or farming soya beans :3 please I hope the food is worth the wait but I really doubt it QwQ
Absolutely delicious! The dumplings here are fantastic, and Im a huge fan of the chili oil with beef on the side. The noodles are decent too. Its pretty affordable you can get a hearty meal for two for about £40-£50, which is a steal given the quality of the food. The only downside is the long wait to get in, usually around an hour, which is a bit of a deal-breaker for me. Other than that, everythings great. The staff are super friendly and hardworking. A suggestion: implementing a phone ban might help speed up the line and improve the dining experience.
Food is delicious, everything is home made and prepared for you, in front of you. Even the long waiting time seems to be part of the ritual and philosophy of the place: a paradise of calm where things are made slow, at their right time, with care and you can definitely taste this in their food.
Just FYI the restaurant is closed until 02Jan2023. We enjoyed the Xiao long baos. And after we seated it took quite along time to get our food. Maybe 30 minutes? Since the chef makes the dim sums one by one once the order comes in, it took much longer than we thought. Worth the waiting!!
Waited more than an hour for food and everything came out tasting strange. The shrimps, wontons and xiao long baos did not taste fresh at all. Everything was extremely salty, which makes me wonder if they were trying to cover up the bad taste. I would not recommend.
The best Xiao Long Bao Ever worth the wait
Good authentic Chinese food. The chef is very polite.
After more than an hour Waiting , got average food , nothing special comparing to other noodles restaurants but it s freshly cooked ( sure fresh as it take two hours to get the food ready ) , place is very small , no wc Parking: You have to use residents parking in the nearby area
We waited for over an hour. But it was worth it! So much delicious food, for a really decent price, what more can I say, it was insane
Homemade noodles and dumplings, cant ask for more.
Best Chinese food in town
Visited today for lunch, lovely customer service, very polite hosts. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The three of us all had different dishes and they were all great. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Kid-friendliness: They made sure out child got exactly what she wanted the way she wanted it.
The best restaurant in town!!..and also the cheapest! Ingredients are always fresh, cooked in front of you. The dumplings are simply incredible...I really dont have the right words to describe how delicious they are! Dont expect a fancy place. Its quite spartan, but you must go for the taste!
Oh my god was this good it had the richest pork and chive dumplings and flavour bursting soup dumpling 10/10 (note did queue for an hour felt like 20 mins but very worth the wait)
I loved the food and service much Ill try it again Food
Great little place, delicious food, clean and friendly staff. First time my 12yo ate Chinese food, and he loved it!
I think it offers dishes closer to original Chinese cuisine, also because there is often a queue of Chinese (although this is helped by the fact that it is small and will only have around a dozen seats). Today I took advantage of the opportunity of not finding a queue and tried, along with other dishes, a jellyfish.
Best noodles in Cambridge
better than most Chinese restaurants in london fair price and great service too
The boss lady has a nice attitude, but the queue and waiting time are too long. It took more than 2 hours in total to get the food~
Can t get more authentic chinese food than this place
I arrived at the restaurant at 12:30pm and there was already a very long queue. I waited until 2pm to get into the restaurant. When I got into the restaurant, I noted there were only 2 staffs, no wonder there was such a long queue waiting outside and it took so long to organise people to get in. I ordered food immediately entering the restaurant and it took 40 minutes and more for food to get onto the table, in that period of time, I was not even offered a glass of tap water even the staff knew how long I had been waiting outside. I will definitely not recommend people to try this restaurant. If the restaurant has to make people wait for so long. There is no point for going to a restaurant. And the reason why people found the food was delicious might be because they were starving too.
It was epic, awesome and even legendary. I will come again
Not worth waiting nearly 2 hours for the food to come. Seems like only one person serves the table and one person cooks. Food is average, but the price is cheap. If you have nothing to do all day and dont mind waiting hours for food then could give this place a try.
Amazing food!
I came to eat after dinner time and waited for two hours. I really love you.
Food was absolutely delicious, cosy rustic home style cooking. Unfortunately we wasted 2 hours waiting to get seated, and then half an hour more to get food served. They are totally under staffed. Definitely isnt worth the wait if you dont have half a day to spare
Very tasty
If my friend asks me about this restaurant, I ll say, Forget it. Find alternative authentic Chinese restaurant. One of the worst restaurant experiences in my life. After around 1 hr 30 mins waiting in the restaurant, we could be served the ordered food finally. The taste was so-so level, but waiting for 1 hr 30mins at the table was such a bad and unpleasant experience. We spent almost 3 hrs in this place for only lunch with an exhausted feeling. I would instead choose another restaurant and spend my time at a more worthy. The owner seems like they don t care about improving the quality of service or their customers asset; time. Nobody wants to spend worthless time never, only waiting for food that long. Also, they don t take debit or credit cards, ONLY CASH which means for what? I don t believe the people who aren t transparent or honest to customers/ tax issues, so this is also a no-no. To sum up, This restaurant is at a very out-of-the-ordinary level. Never visit again. Bye bye.
Had to wait nearly 2 hours. I wouldn t do this ever again. Decent dumplings but definitely not worth being stuck in the restaurant for 2 hours. I don t think they will improve since they didn t seem to care about people waiting for 2 hours. Just dumbfounded
Absolutely amazing
Insipid food. Incredibly disappointed and honestly angry at how expensive it is for what you get. Genuinely hard to eat, it s so flavourless. Had to use half a bottle of soy sauce just to get anything out of the noodles. Honestly don t bother, don t know why people rave about this place.
Waited for an hour and a half only to share a table and an extra hour for food to come. Even soy milk took 30 minutes. Not worth the wait at all. The food was super simple nothing special. Massive waste of 3 hours on a Wednesday night.
average food for 2 hours not worth it.
Xiao long BAO is by far the best Ive had in UK. However I havent managed to go there for the last three times I visited Cambridge due to the long queue...
Arrive early, be prepared to queue, dont come hungry, it is a loooong wait. There is a reason why though, the food is unreal good!
People like me drove 1.5 hours just to find out the restaurant is closed. It s absolutely unacceptable to treat customer as such. As a business owner, you should know how to update your business hours on Google overview for god sake.
The place is very popular. There will always be a line outside. We waited in line for 30 minutes. Once seated we again had to wait for an hour before we got our food. Therefore giving a bad rating for the service. The food was ok I guess. Nothing exceptional. Dont know why people prefer this restaurant even if theres a huge line.
This is a small Chinese restaurant run by a couple. I mean literally run by two people . This means chances of waiting for a table for over 1h. And if that is your case, I suggest you turning to plan B. Speaking of the quality of food, the noodles with beef brisket and the soya milk are both homemade and taste good, though the soup for the noodles is a bit salty in my view. Also, I heard the place is famous for its Xiaolong Bao, which I did not try during my last visit. The service is okay, the auntie is friendly.
I am somewhat divided on this because service here is so INCREDIBLY SLOW. Even though we were part of the first intake of customers at 12pm, we only got our food at 1pm. The food is good, especially for the price, but I cannot genuinely recommend this unless they fix their service. Coming for dinner before 5pm makes this a lot more enjoyable of an experience, trust me. Get the dumplings and the plain noodles with sesame oil.
Waiting time at door : minimum 1 hour
Xiolongbao is as good as in Shanghai, noodle is at average level. Generally we are content with the food. But the BIGGEST problem is only two staff serving the 6 tables and take aways. We wait 2.5 hours for Xiaolongbao and noodle. It is not worthwhile to wait such long time for this. In China, the waiting time of noodle and xiaolongbao is no more than 10 min.
The portion is a little small, but the taste is good. The xiaolongbao is a must-try
We have been clients for more than 6 years and we believe the food is good for the price. However, having to wait more than 2.5 h for a noodle soup and dumplings is just disappointing. We really hope the owners take the time to read the reviews and try to improve the service because it is not worth it
Must visit in Cambridge. I was there for 2 hours today and met people from all around the world all in such a small restaurant. Food is fresh and lovely and all hand made by a one and only chef. Bless him for giving such a lovely food Food : 5/5
I literally love this place!!! Amazing home made dumplings, but also noodles, baos and much more. The price is more than reasonable and the lady is soooo kind! The waiting is definitely worth it!
My favourite place, although the wait is long, it is 1000% worth it. Just don t come if you re tight for time (like all of those 1 star reviews), you will leave this place feeling warm and full, for a good price too!!
Excellent food but long waiting times.
worth the wait for some of the best homemade and authentic food i ve ever had. the wait almost adds to the experience of the food, it s part of the charm of this wonderful place it gives you time to really connect with the people you are eating with too!
Excellent authentic taste! Good for takeaways.
Delicious dumplings, and the service is great. Very inexpensive prices. Sweet owners. Edit, 6 years later: I still love this unique restaurant, and its exciting to see how theyve become so famous, but I wish they could find an alternative to the queuing. It limits access to people with mobility issues and could easily be prevented with a booking system. We also had a really negative experience recently where multiple parties of friends of the restaurant arrived and were shown immediately in, in front of us and other patrons who had been waiting for nearly 40 minutes.
I ate here when I was in high school in Cambridge. Three years later, the menu has not changed and the prices have not increased. The uncles and aunts are very nice people, but you have to wait for a table or share a table, and the food may take a long time. Super authentic xiaolongbao, better than what you get in China, it will always be my favorite restaurant
The food in this restaurant is still remarkable, but the speed of serving can pay tribute to Hawking.
After queuing for two hours and having to wait for an hour after sitting down, a days trip to Cambridge was wasted in this restaurant...very disappointing, and in the end it was no longer possible to enjoy the food itself...although the food itself was good, the food was only one part of the dining experience, and I hope that the restaurant can improve on this situation
Packed with people but no air con.
Look, heres the deal. Anyone complaining about slow service when everything is prepared by 2 people just lacks common sense. If you want speed - head to the nearest McDonalds, burger will be flying your way in no time. We had the xiao long bao, beef brisket noodles and a few others and it was all delicious. In short, if you are in a rush - skip this place for sure. But if you can spare the time, sit down relax and take in the beauty of home made dishes in a restaurant environment.
Food is good but service is appalling. I feel for customers who had to wait forever for food
Our favourite in Cambridge. Never disappoints. The spicy pork noodles and chilli oil are *chef s kiss*. 10/10
Amazing, mouth-watering, delicious Chinese food! I couldn t stop trying different dishes and by the end of my time at Noodles Plus was chonky and happy Pros 1. Food! Dumplings, gyoza, noodles! Generous portions and all, down to the small bite, is flavorful and yummy. 2. A big menu, a lot of options to explore! 3. Conveniently located I mean, Mill Road, it can t get any better for Cambridge Cons 1. The place is quite small and popular so queues. It s not fun to wait for a half an hour to be seated, especially when it s raining 2. We went there on a rainy day so with the place lacking in space and with a lot of people inside, it was literally a greenhouse.
We went a couple times. Food is always great. We had xia lung bao and noodles, every time. But the wait is vary, some days less than 10 minutes , the other time we waited for almost one hour outside and inside (after we re seated). So you just have to prepare yourself. It s a husband and wife duo run the business. I wish they expand the place, and add at least one more servers to accommodate more customers. But overall it s great food if you have time to spare, or if you are really crave the food.
What lovely food and friendly hardworking staff. The dumplings are worth queuing for. Dont be fooled by the appearance of the restaurant, the food is truly excellent.
The people moaning about the pace of the service is a bit unfair. The food is worth the wait and you can see that the husband and wife are working so hard. The food was delicious, all hand made and fresh. The Xiao long Bao very good. We will definitely be back!
Arrived around 2pm on a Saturday and there were already several people queuing at the door. I queued for 1 hour, waited 20 minutes to place my order, had food in another hour, and took 15 minutes to pay. Understand its just a couple, but really if youre hungry or in a hurry, this wont be your choice. The food quality is very high. I ordered 4 items and was not disappointed at all!
The total duration of waiting time was at least 1.5hrs until food was served. Food was okay but not worth the wait.
Food was divine!
I have to say...this is the best noodle and Xiao Long Bao restaurant that I ve went to so far. It s a small store with limited seats, and they serve each table s order one by one, making a long-waited queue no matter outside or even seated at tables. But you can see how it worth when people are still coming during dining time and willing to wait I ordered a glass of warm soyamilk with half sugar, which was completely a rescue on a windy and freezing night. Savouries are very outstanding. Beef brisket noodle soup is good, with the brisket cooked perfectly to chew out. The Wonton soup is my favorite, where the juicy and stuffy mixture of pork and vegetables are covered by transparent skin, soaking in the salty soup. The juice just exploded in your mouth when you took a bite. Xiao Long Bao is the must-try. It is slightly bigger than what s in an usual restaurant, but I don t think it s any less than wonderful. I personally think the skin of dumpling is too thick, I can somehow taste the flavor of flour. And it could be even better if the soup (generally) can be less salty. But overall I still consider it a very highly-rated restaurant. Cash only. Card payment is not acceptable
I love this place. I have been here multiple times and sometimes I just get take away and it is excellent. I love their dumplings and noodles and can eat them everyday. If you get takeaway, make sure to order around an hour in advance by calling them. You should also always have cash on you.
Trust me they have the best chicken with chili sauce! Been there for so many times while I was in Cambridge. It s now the restaurant that I miss the most in Cambridge. Food
If you have heard of/ tried Din Tai Fung, then this is Cambridges not so little secret! Noodles+ is a small casual restaurant with a maximum capacity of 19 seats served by a lovely couple. Everything is freshly made and cooked. The steamed soup dumplings (xiao long bao) are the best and must say their signature dish. Noodles are tasty and you can choose from dry or soup noodles. We also love the pork dumplings pan fried. They dont serve alcohol but its BYOB. The only downside is there is always a queue outside but hey, patience is a virtue and it is worth the wait! Try to come during off-peak hours.
Family run restaurant, quality food
Friendly little place with nice authentic Chinese food. Need to bring cash with you.
The food quality is very high, but sometimes the waiting time is very long. It is recommended that those who choose to dine in need to reserve sufficient time. Recommend the xiaolongbao, saliva chicken and cold cloud fungus
nice food. nice tea sharing and hot water added in the not busy lunch. £3.5 for 2 flower tea. enjoyed so much. Food
No.1 in cambridge. Endless queus says it all. Food
Food is excellent, bit of a long wait and small amount of tables
We visited Noodles plus 4 years ago and enjoyed the terrific dumplings. This year we came back, not to our suprise the little restaurant had become very popular. They deserve it, the dumplings were still great! Next time we are in Cambridge we will definately come back.
We were there to have a meal. We ordered one vegetarian dumpling and two vegetarian soups. While waiting, we noticed that meat, chicken, and pork were being cooked in the same pot as the vegetarian dishes, and we told them we couldn t eat that. However, they said they couldn t cook them separately, and after waiting for an hour, we left. Vegetarians, vegans, and those with allergies or religious dietary restrictions should be cautious. It s a big disrespect that they don t have a warning about this on the menu
On a trip from London, we decided to pop into this little place based on the reviews, and just WOW. AMAZING dumpling and noodles! We come from London so we are big foodies and have eaten in many places, so was surprised to find amazing quality here! Yes it was a long wait even at 4 pm on a weekday afternoon, but the owner is hand making your order! This is not frozen dumplings from the bag! The noodles with scallion and soy sauce was perfectly cooked, and our pan-fried pork dumplings were perfect. What more can you ask for? If I ever make a trip to Cambridge again, Ill pop by here!!!
Love the food. Probably the best dumplings in town. The service is good because the owners are super kind. Poor in the organisation, letting wait most of the customers for very long time. Pleasant experience overall but patience is needed.
Handmade noodle is amazing
Wonderful and authentic food.
The xiaolongbao is delicious! It s freshly made and you can see the uncle making dough, rolling out bread and steaming buns in the store!
We needed to wait over 40 minutes for our food and they didnt warn us about any waiting time. Otherwise, the food was nice.
Best beef soup Ive had in my life! Kinda worth the almost an hour of waiting in the cold
Soup dumpling on fleeek. 10/10 will be back.
Amazing soup dumplings (Xiao long bao) and hand pulled noodles. Highly recommend - it is obvious that the owner and his wife put their heart and soul into this place.
The food was very nice but it took an hour to be served which wasnt great for work lunchtime.
I recommend it if you like Dosakmyeon Jjajangmyeon is delicious! I also enjoyed the xiao long bao. Wonton soup reminds me of dumpling soup, but too much salted shrimp is added so its a bit salty... But simple and quick? I recommend it if you want to eat it haha. But I m disappointed about CASH ONLY. They said they couldnt even transfer money to my account. I asked if it was possible to transfer money to my bank account, but the lady frowned and asked for cash, saying she didnt have a bank, which made me feel bad.
FABULOUS dumplings <3 Only take cash. Very kind staff.
Real homemade with love, amazing
A very popular Chinese cafe with absolutely delicious food and good price!
I did not try it due to such a long queue, but it must be good given the queue and the looks on the people eating inside.
good Sui lung bao n dumpling better to be chose panfire, its take time
Totally amazing. Wonderful noodles freshly made. Everything is so full of flavour and such good value for money. It s a tiny restaurant and there is mostly a queue to get in. Don t be put off it is well worth the wait.
The best dumplings ever!
We waited for longer than one hour for food. Really bad experience. Never come back again.
Good food
The best xiao long bao! And the hand made noodles are deliciously fresh. Incredible!
The food is very good, prepared in front of us but 1h30 wait to get a table. Damage !
Incredible place for authentic dumplings and noodles. A small shop with a great vibe, the noodles and dumplings are handmade to order. Be prepared to wait for your order though, theres only 2 people running the whole show. But its worth the wait. Try calling ahead for takeout if waiting is an issue. pork and chive dumplings - 10/10 xiao long bao - 10/10 noodles with beef brisket - 9/10
The food is special, there are too few staff, the place is crowded and there are many customers, and they only accept cash.
