Great value for money! The hotpot buffet is delicious, and the selection of ingredients is incredible. Definitely coming back for more!
Incredible food and top-notch service! The Spicy Chicken (Lazi Ji) is bursting with flavor—crispy, spicy, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting. Highly recommend for authentic Chinese flavors!
The newly launched hotpot buffet is both affordable and delicious! There’s a great variety of ingredients to choose from, and everything is fresh and flavorful. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a satisfying and value-for-money dining experience in Cambridge!
I booked a birthday dinner in the 72 restaurant for my friend to celebrate his 18th birthday. The staff was very thoughtful and played the birthday song for us, and also temporarily turned off the lights for us to enjoy the candlelight of the birthday cake! Staffs were very friendly, the main course of the dinner was delicious, the Sichuan style food was delicious, love the spicy! I think this is the best Chinese restaurant on this street and I would recommend it to my friends! 100% will come back, nice vibe!
I had an amazing experience at this Chinese restaurant! The food was authentic and delicious, with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even better. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommend trying their signature dishes — definitely worth a visit!
I ordered some dishes, most are ok. The spicy numbing pot is terrible. The meat is too chewy and like plastic. Very low quality. Service is cold. It says online they have student discount but they told me in person that they do not. Not recommended.
Really delicious food. The service was okayish. The restaurant looks really cozy and welcoming. Overall, a really nice place to have some good chinese, if one wants some authentic chinese food.
Avoid. Food is not fresh. These prawns were very very soggy, it was not freshly cooked. Noodles had a weird after taste. Very disappointed. Service charge is not deserved for the experience. Yim Wah restaurant is the best restaurant in this street. We wanted to try a different restaurant, but we came out very disappointed with this one.
Delicious food, with authentic Sichuan cuisine, definately would go again and the service was great and efficient. Perfect for family meals and eating by yourself either way
I ordered food from Deliveroo and I have ordered from this restaurant many times before, but recently the quality has been getting worse and worse. The beef tripe was huge and the worst part is that I had diarrhea and vomiting that night. I am very sure it was because of their food because I didnt eat anything after 1pm that day until 7pm when I ate their food and started vomiting. It was very bad and now its the third day and I still cant eat normally because of the vomiting. The stomach pain caused by the vomiting is unbearable and that will be my last order from this restaurant really disappointed
Delicious authetic Chinese food. I am a big foodie who loves flavour, so when I say its good, I mean it.
The food wasnt the freshiest, not the cheapest either, the meat was cold yet the sauce was hot. I didnt like the waiters either
Our favourite Sichuan restaurant in Cambridge, sadly you have to know what to order (not a place for British Chinese food )
The food was fine, we had to wait for it for more than an hour, even though we pre-booked the table. Also, there were extra lines in the bill :(
didnt taste fresh, i was disappointed
Chicken sweet n sour tastes like fish
Veg momos not yummy Not hv spicy sauce Food
I mean just perfect authentic Chinese experience fr I nearly cried after eating British food for like a month this is like ascending to the skies
My friends and I have been ordering takeout from this store for the past four years. I placed an order for spicy chicken on Deliveroo on August 1st, but it was delivered to someone else by mistake. I went to the delivery platform to get a refund coupon. On August 2nd, I used my refund coupon to place an order for spicy chicken again. When I got it, I was surprised why there were so many more diced chickens than usual. I put the remaining pieces in the refrigerator. When I ate them the next day, the smell was even more obvious. After a few bites, I started to feel stomachache, nausea, and diarrhea. (English version): Me and my friends are used to order deliveries from this restaurant. As usual, I used deliveroo to order spicy sautéed chicken on 1 August, and turned up to get somebody elses order. I asked for a refund voucher from deliveroo . On 2 August, I used the voucher to order spicy sautéed chicken again from this restaurant. When I got the dish, I noticed that there were more chicken pieces than anytime before. The pieces were larger than usual as well. I ate some, and found that several of the chicken pieces tasted a bit weird, but I didnt think too much about it. I put the rest of the chicken into my fridge. The second day when I took it out, heated it up and ate it , the bad taste was more obvious. Ive only had several bites and got stomachache, diarrhea, and felt so sick that I had to take medication. I threw this dish away, but it didn t matter because I appealed to the takeout platform again and received a new refund coupon. I didnt eat much, and the symptoms of food poisoning werent particularly severe. However, because something like this happened, it is difficult for us not to suspect that the merchant deliberately provided faulty food because I ordered food with a refund coupon. I am a regular customer of this restaurant. I have been ordering food from this restaurant for four years. I have ordered the spicy chicken many times and other dishes many times. I have never gotten food poisoning after putting it in the refrigerator one night and taking it out the next day. experience. How you did it, what you thought, and whether it was just a coincidence, you know in your heart. Your order was sent by mistake yourself, not by me for you. Using the refund coupon is my legitimate right as a consumer, and it is not an excuse for you to use spoiled food for targeted poisoning. If you don t want to place my order, you can refuse to serve meals, or even permanently refuse to take my order. I don t mind, but you have chosen the worst solution and completely overturned an old customer s trust in your family. I threw the dish away, thats fine, I could complain and get refund from deliveroo again. Im glad that I didnt eat much, and my food poisoning symptoms have not been too bad for now. But, its hard not to suspect that the restaurant provided unclean or expired food because I paid with the refund voucher. Im a regular customer of this restaurant, having ordered food from here for four years. Ive ordered sautéed chicken for numerous times before and other dishes as well. Never did I have the experience of food poisoning by eating a dish which was kept in my fridge for only one night. Whether this was a mere coincidence or something else, you guys running the restaurant know better than me. It was you who sent the wrong order that day, not me. I had every right to use that voucher as a customer, and it should not be taken as an excuse to poison somebody with expired food. If you didnt like it, you could refuse to cook my dish, refuse my order, I wouldnt mind, but you guys decided to venture the worst possible solution over the trust of a loyal customer who has been visiting and ordering from you since she came to Cambridge. Considering my health and life safety, I will not order food from this restaurant again in the future, nor will I recommend my friends to come here again. I sincerely hope that your business will continue to prosper and get better and better. Considering my health and safety, I will never visit this restaurant again or order anything from here. I would not recommend my friends to do so either. I wish wholeheartedly that the business of your restaurant keeps flourishing and you earn as much money as you wish - thats the only thing you have ever had an idea about anyways.
bad service rude people expensive
The lady of the restaurant is always rude. Also, the restaurant s hygiene is questionable. I went to their toilets and they were unsanitary The food is okay tho
Traditional food. Big portions.
Authentic Sichuan food. Great esp. if you like spicy food.
Their prices on Deliveroo went up significantly and the portions were very little. Not worth the price
Food is not bad but service was terrible and rude
It s not delicious, there s a mandatory service charge, and the boss has a bad attitude. Not recommended.
No recommendations. Bad food. The food is not fresh. And the service not good.
No-nonsense service. Delicious food that gets you away from the usual offerings in English Chinese restaurants. Were hoping to return to try some more dishes. The highlight this visit was the fish in boiling chilli oil.
It s okay to have Chinese food. The service is nothing but get regular charged.
I ordered takeout and waited for 3 hours. No one wants to eat. What a fool.
Food very nice, unfortunately prices have gone up, its quite expensive, portions have got smaller too.
After eating it for two days in a row, the food tastes as it should! It s an authentic traditional Chinese food! Recommended: Stewed Beef Brisket with Radish, Green Beans with Minced Pork and Olive Vegetables, and Kung Pao Chicken are all good!
Great experience, authentic dishes that tick all the boxes: flavor, fragrance, color, and composition. Also gave me a bowl of birthday noodles, thank you boss!
not bad .
It was so delicious that I felt uncomfortable in my stomach after eating it. They even charged a service fee. The food was served within five minutes of ordering. It was probably just pre-made food, either hot or cold, and the service attitude was still poor. This is a celebrity restaurant, I really want to laugh.
After 40 minutes of waiting we finically have received dishes, which do not look even close to the pictures in the menu. The 14 pounds duck dish looked like some leftovers of leftovers and did not have more than 70 grams of duck. I strongly discourage you to go here.
Wait time for our order was insanely long. Who the hell on earth cooks a spicy hot pot for an entire hour?
I was so speechless. I went to 72 Inn to eat with full confidence. After ordering and waiting for more than 40 minutes, the food was not served. When I asked the boss lady what was going on, she responded with a perfunctory right away. After waiting for another half hour, we asked another waitress when the food would be served, and she told us to wait at least another half hour. Can you let me know in advance if the food is served very slowly? Can you at least tell us the actual situation sincerely? Never come again, so disgusting! My stomach hurts from hunger, so painful.
Amazing food and great service!
Ate here as part of an eight person group, at the recommendation of a member of the group who originates from Wuhan that considered this restaurant to be highly regarded by the Chinese community for authentic Chinese dishes. I had also heard great recommendations previously. To me, alarm bells were ringing when we were shown into the basement to be seated in a small room with a round table, adjacent to their toilets, stock room and cleaning cupboards. Service was particularly dire, it was clear nobody gave a hoot about the actual experience of the customer, but friends assured me that often, the worse a service is, the greater the restaurant and that uncaring, blunt and boring service is instilled into the culture. The food, however, was magnificent (when it did finally arrive). It had taken a while for them to prepare but each person did order a dish with another added to the equation so there was much for the restaurant to cope with, and the food was incredible. There was a mixture of excessively spicy dishes and delectable sweet and sour dishes with each cooked to tasty perfection, whether it was the battered/fried sweet and sour fish, or the simplistic veggies, it was all delicious and has redeemed what otherwise appears to be a somewhat rundown and dismissive restaurant when it comes to their upkeep, cleanliness and their customer care.
Manager had a bad attitude which made the dining experience very uncomfortable.
Food served gone off avoid
Terrible service all round Unapologetic poor service, clearly uninterested in whether our meal was going ok. Long wait for any food, then our rice and half of our main courses arrived with our starters so that our food was cold by the time we were eating it. When we finished, cold food and dishes left on table, no attempt to clear. No interest in whether we wanted anything extra, any additional drinks etc. To top it all, had the cheek to add a service charge to already steep prices. Vegetarian options: available
The service was slow and food arrived in wrong order and long gaps between each individual meals. No clear the table. Ask for a itemised bill so we cound divide it we receive one in Chinese. Additional non order was put on table. In summary Service not worth the 10% Additional service charge put bill. Parking: No public parking Wheelchair accessibility: Not suitable for wheelchair or people with walking aids. No access toilets
Very delicious and authentic food.
Such a great authentic Chinese place. I can see why non-Chinese people would struggle ordering here as the waiters are all Chinese and speak limited English, but I as a Chinese person find this place very authentic and highly recommend. Have come here many times and the food every time is delicious with large portions.
Delicious hotpot with many items available for the hotpot, just a bit pricey. All the other dishes coming out of the kitchen looked good as well
Diarrhea after eating
Genuine Chinese cuisine and a great place to visit in Cambridge. Don t go without trying the fish in hot chilli oil - it s fantastic! Handy menu with pics so you can see exactly what s what. Have been several times and really recommend.
This is a rough and ready Chinese food joint. We come here now and again to get authentic Chinese food. Don t expect polished service, you have to overlook the rough edges but the food is great. Try to come early, around 6- 6.30 and your fellow diners will be mainly Asian- a good sign that the food is the real deal. Dish highlights are the salt and pepper squid, spinach in peanuts and vinegar and the fish in boiling oil with Szechuan pepper and chilli.
Authentic Chinese cuisine. The portion is quite large so I recommend going with friends. The food came fast and they were tasty! Kid-friendliness: There are high chairs available upon request.
I was there last week and I was disappointed by the food I oredred, I am a regular customer to this restaurant for almost 6 years now but last time I visited really didnt like the foods at all and I think the owner change the chefs because we were waiting for almost an hour for our food to be ready ( normally foods took 15/20 minutes to be ready ) . We order Crispy Aromatic Duck and Vegetable Springs rolls and 2 Checken black Ben Sause and 2 rice , the foods delivered randomly and not in order at all , the Duck was looking old and taste different, the Spring onions were ok , the chicken black Ben sauce were taste different and the Egg fried rice were disgusting. I hope the owner will change the chefs or bring the previous one but if he will continue like that he will lose a lot of customers.
Delicious food
Great food and excellent location. The family run restaurant has a good vibe and the dishes are tasty without being greasy or heavy. Genuine puer tea and the best wanton soup I have had anywhere in the world. Be aware that you need to be specific to the menu. The young waitress who served my food was not fluent in writing mandarin and had to copy from the menu to communicate the orders to the kitchen staff. Therefore, be sure to indicate the exact dish you want on the menu and if there is a specific dietary requirement, make that explicit. Vegetarian options: Excellent and tasty bean dishes. I recommend the noodles.
Okay ish food at rather high prices
So many Chinese restaurants to choose from...we chose this one on a whim. Loved it, one of the best Ive ever had. Mapo tofu was on point, chicken and mushroom dumplings were so good. Staff was very friendly, prices were reasonable. Ill go again.
Food was okay. Very heavy flavours for veg dish. Waiters were good and helpful.
Ive never had Chinese food in China, but Im pretty sure that this is as close as you can get in Cambridge. @72 makes zero effort to adapt to the British palate, and thats what makes it great. The food is up there with anywhere else in Cambridge and the prices are very reasonable. If you arent used to Chinese food, go with an open mind and you will enjoy it.
The most chinese Chinese Ive ever been to in the UK , I have worked in China several times . Brilliant Food
A very surprising meal! I wanted to go to the Chinese restaurant next door that was said to be visited by the Mayor of Cambridge. It was said that they would host a group meal, but I lost interest in an instant. I came here and ordered stir-fried dried tofu with sharp pepper and stir-fried chicken gizzards with millet and pepper. What a big surprise! The dried tofu is cooked very well, with a crispy, smooth and tender texture. My wife is also full of praise for the chicken gizzards. It has the taste of childhood and is extremely authentic. Personally, I think the two dishes today are of very high standard in China!
Authentic Chinese sechwan food, tasty and good value. Just like being in old town in China, nice Chinese lamps and shades and pictures. Friendly owner on hand and English spoken well. Enjoy Food
This is a Sichuan restaurant located in Cambridge. A very popular restaurant with a nice Chinese theme set up. The restaurant serves a wide selection of spicy Sichuan food. Their Pouched Chicken in Sichuan Spicy Sauce and the Fragrant Pot ( ) are good. Service is reasonable but during peak hours, the waiting time may be slightly longer. Cleanliness is acceptable. Prices are reasonable. Cash and cards are accepted. There are a number of steps within the restaurant. Handicapped patrons on wheelchairs will have difficulties patronising this restaurant. 25-07+2023 ; Restaurant operating without any Covid-19 restrictions. Crowd is back to normal. Prices had inevitably increased but still competitive. Their Double Cooked Sliced Pork and Pouched Chicken in Sichuan Spicy Sauce are good. Both are recommended.
Food was barely warm, the egg fried rice was dripping in oil and not properly fried, black pepper beef was completely over cooked, tofu was a bit sour. Would not recommend if you re looking for decent chinese food.
Its so delicious, authentic Sichuan cuisine, and every dish is delicious. Almost all the people are Chinese, because it is so delicious and the price is quite affordable.
My partner and I went to visit Cambridge, and we wanted to eat Chinese. We randomed to pick the restaurant and we went to this one. It was very good decision, the staff are very nice, friendly. The asmosphere is fine. In addition, the food are very perfect, tasty, fresh, and worth for the value. If we have a chance to go to Cambridge again, we will go visit this restaurant again for sure. Highly recommend!! P.S. We ordered beef stew with mushroom, roasted duck and sweet bun (I cant remember the name of it exactly)
We went to the Chinese restaurant called 72 China at around 8 pm on 20th Aug. 2023. But unfortunately, we had to experience discrimination by the staff. We ordered a dish named squirrel fish but the fish was definitely not fresh at all. It had a very strong fishy taste and smell despite being deep fried and covered in strong seasoning and sauce. As a result, we told them that the fish tasted off and not fresh. The staff took away our dish and told us that it was our problem and not theirs. We were in disbelief at how they treated us after we made a complaint, and when we tried to reason with them, they refused to listen to us. They tried to talk over us and intimidate us when we told them that their fish was bad. They were unapologetic, rude and loud. They tried to intimidate us as they were 2 guys and we were 3 girls (me, my girlfriend, and my friend). They tried to scare us off by talking very loud and over us. They said all the fish tasted like this and then said it tasted bad only because it was cold. Even though we told them we had this dish before in this restaurant and we tasted it as soon as it arrived. They should have a CCTV which can prove we tried the dish as soon as it arrived. They refused any sort of negotiation and kept using different excuses until we said this could be settled by the police. We believe we were discriminated against by this restaurant, as when we checked the reviews online afterwards there were other Chinese that reported similar problems and behaviors from the staff of this restaurant. The staff are always rude to Asian customers but have a very different attitude towards non Asian customers. At around 8 pm on August 20, 2023, we went to a Chinese restaurant called 72 China. The taste is okay
Absolutely lovely little restaurant to go to in the evening! Brilliant food and lovely staff Would highly recommend Food
This has to be some of the best and most authentic food Ive had in Britain outside of China. A delicious evening and well worth a visit. Vegetarian options: The ma po tofu was delicious
When I was in Cambridge for work, I happened to meet a Chinese business partner and he invited me. The inside of the restaurant was clean and there were many Chinese-speaking people eating there. We ordered about 7 large plates for a group of 7 people. Its delicious, the atmosphere is nice, and Id like to come back next time Im in Cambridge.
Best Chinese food Ive ever had outside China (I lived in China for 5 years). You must be proactive to place your order and get the bill in the end. But if you care about food and only food then thats THE place. Very recommended by a westerner who knows something about China!
Service was good. As for food, we had pigs ears, deep fried ribs, cauliflower hearts, and rice. The pigs ears were sliced very thick and really tough. The ribs were also really tough, bordering on inedible. The cauliflower hearts were nice. The rice had been cooked for so long that the texture was all mushy. We hardly had any of the ribs and pigs ears but packed it up to take home just in case we can salvage the dishes in any way. Also the toilets looked as though they had not been cleaned in a while.
Rude and unwelcoming. Which is a real shame, as the food there is pretty good
Brilliant food, but beware the portions are very generous!
The food was authentic Chinese food but the flavour of the food was different to what I came across few years ago it wasn t as great as before, maybe the chef has changed and after I finished eating for some reason my mouth felt dry no matter how much water I drank, possibly they put to much MSG in the food. It was a shame that they didn t taste as good as before.
It was quite annoying to spend money on a meal. The waitress in a black ponytail had a very bad attitude. She made a face as if the customer owed her a million. She dropped the tableware and walked away without looking up. You don t even know how to say a word. Does the guest owe you anything when he comes to your house for dinner? ? ? All of a sudden, you had the nerve to ask us for service fees when you were checking out. What services did you provide? Who do you think youve taken advantage of? Is the middle-aged man the boss or the manager? Lets call him the manager. Without saying anything, he came up to us and glared at us. He gritted his teeth and demanded that we pay the service fee. Ok, all Chinese people, please listen. British law stipulates that customers have the right to refuse to pay service fees when they are not satisfied with the service. This manager claims that he has been in the UK for twenty years, but he doesn t even know this? ? Did you hack it? What are you talking about? When you refuse to pay the service fee, he may tell you that this is a rule. Dont believe him. He is talking nonsense. If he continues to talk nonsense, please call the police directly. Check it with the policeman.
A variety of different Chinese cuisines: Sichuan, Northern, Cantonese. Well-prepared, generous portions.
Excellent quality food, recommended by the locals! I would try the all you can eat hot pot which is very affordable and warms you up on a cold winters day!
(Used to be) the top choice in Cambridge for spicy Chinese food. Compulsory 10% service charge, waived as a student discount. Docked a star off for inconsistent quality and subpar service
Decent place
An even better experience with a native speaker to help with ordering authentic choices
Fantastic meal, authentic food, and great service. The staff were very accommodating and helped recommend some dishes based on our preferences. Will definitely be visiting again.
Really a good Chinese restaurant!
Very good music and food
Food is decent but I have to mention that it is ridiculous that they only take orders via one application and not even by a phone call. Would have been fine if this application wasnt all in Chinese. There is no way that a non-Chinese speaker can navigate through this app. How is this a thing? Update 25/05. Tried to order via Deliveroo. Despite it being said that we could order it, we got a cancellation 10 minutes later. Very unprofessional.
I tried mapo tofu, and beef noodles in spicy broth. Great location at the downing street, so I drop by for lunch. I really like the welcoming vibes of the staff. When I took a vegan friend to the restaurant, they accommodated our request and provided vegetarian version of mabpo tofu. Its not super cheap (12 pound per dish including service charge) but affordable. I like it
Slow service and clueless staff
Terrible and disgusting food. Fish wasnt fresh at all, vegetables either Recommend 7days, right next to here
I couldn t imagine how dumb is the chef of this restaurant, none of food is fresh and trolling waiter, unbelievable messy toilet, fish is stinky and potatoes taste just like flour , just go to other restaurants, shame of Chinese restaurants
Food wasnt fresh
Flank beef was very good but the SnS Ribs wasnt that good felt and tasted if the ribs were reheated and not fresh, portion wise it was small for the price of £40+.
I love the food there.
Great food .I keep on going back but the price can be eye watering ,
Dont go there for the fade no I ask several times I eat what this dish is, they dont really explain it to me, they tell me a name, I understood afterwards that it was chicken pasta, Ive already eaten it, but hey, in France we dont eat at all this see the photo Meat still frozen and questionable hygiene the waitress takes something from the all-you-can-eat buffet with her fingers and eats it He washes the cutlery in a small sink next to the cash register my god I dont know what to say the vegetables are drowned in cold water at the all you can eat buffet My friend loved his dish so make up your own mind, I didnt eat anything from my dish, I lost 18 and I had a canker sore on my lip for several months!!!
So this is a VERY good Chinese restaurant. Having lived in Asia I know. In fact for what it represents, it is the best authentic restaurant in Cambridge that Ive been to. Service quick, smooth & attentive. Large varied, if not exciting Chinese menu, being particularly strong in Sichuan (spicy) food. Rice quantities however poor I thought (Probably because we werent Chinese) This was not good enough. Restrooms poor. But survivalable. I recommend this restaurant.
Nice and fast service! Salted egg tofu is really good
Lovely food. Tried the Mapo Tofu and some Szechuan dishes which were very nice. The spicy and the peppery ones were different and complementary. They also accommodated our special requests.
Nice place, very welcoming. Exceptional courtesy and service
This is our second visit this month. Clean and friendly environment. The food are all great, I especially like water melon pork soup and beer duck.
Such Chinese, very taste, much flavor. 4/5 potatoes
Fantastic food. Really enjoyed the dumplings especially.
There is nothing wrong with the taste, but the price is a bit expensive, especially with the mandatory service charge...
Delicious and authentic food, friendly waiting staff and a clean environment. Will definitely return
Very busy place for lunch and I think they are also very busy for deliveries. Great service and excellent host and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. I think this is very close to like home cooked Chinese food. Very good dumplings and amazing black bean chicken. Soup was very authentic Chinese flavour. Great place for Chinese.
[£15/pax, 3 Oct 2022, 9 people] Good sichuan food in Cambridge cabbage - 6/10 la zi chicken - 9/10 beans with chilli - 9/10 braised pork - 7/10 5 spice lamb - 9/10 chilli fish - 8/10 mapo tofu - 7/10, too salty garlic pork ribs - 8/10 [£16/pax, 11 Nov 2022] ordered the la zi ji and lamb and beans again, the beans especially were not as nice as the previous time the sweet and sour chicken was good
Amazing sichuan food, much better than sichuan / hunan food in Hong Kong of the same price level. Service is good. There are non-spicy dishes for children or friends that couldnt take even a bit of spicy food. The quality of the non-spicy dishes are also quite well. Unlike many sichuan restaurant in Hong Kong and the mainland China which simply mixing chilli and meat / vegetable that are not fresh with a lot of MSG, their spicy dishes are fresh that you could tell the taste of the ingredients. The spiciness of a decent sichuan food should not be too strong and overwhelm the original flavours of meat / vegetable. I recommend: cold dish: Fuqi feipian(Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue in Chilli Sauce). The sauce and the sliced bamboo are so great. Hot dish: Spicy roasted fish in pickled pepper style.
We had a spicy fish dish, it was really good.
This is absolutely the worst Chinese restaurant in Cambridge (probably the worst in the world). I strongly advise you not to go unless you want to be treated like a pariah. Horrible service, ignorant and aggressive owner, deserve to be bankrupted by the pandemic . Zero sympathy. I knew from reading the reviews that the people in this restaurant are all addicted to dynamite, so it s my fault that I tried it again: I guarantee that Qi Si Er Zhan is definitely the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten in Cambridge, the UK and even Europe, bar none. Its really unbelievably bad. You need to constantly comfort and take care of the clerks mood. If you do anything wrong, you will be scolded impatiently. Its really baffling. Why dont you, a man who looks like a crown prince, live in the Forbidden City and be an uncle, but come to this foreign country to open a business? Dining room? Being on the blacklist is like donating some money to the refugees stranded in the UK.
Some of the order cant arrive on time
We had hot pot, we got a soup and there is unlimited buffet what you can do in it. It was really good, not as good in Asia, but almost there. The price is quite high, but if you eat a lot it is worth it. I will return one day.
nice food best in the UK
Authentic Chinese food around Cambridge. Quite a good portion for its price and taste good too.
Unbeatable
One of the better Chinese restaurants on Regent St. Good bubble tea.
By far the worst deliveroo experience I ve had since I ve started with deliveroo 3-4 years ago! I ordered four dishes from the restaurant, and it was delivered 50 minutes after the original delivery time! One dish had way too much ginger in it, and the other was dry with way too many peppercorns throughout! The driver showed up down the street from my house and called to have me collect the order from the Drivers side window! NEVER AGAIN!! The food was lukewarm at best when I plated it. Spend your money elsewhere because this isnt the restaurant for it!
Food is fantastic. Friendly service. Comfortable seating. Pleasant Chinese background music
Very nice traditional Chinese! we enjoyed it a loot !!
Came in there, the place is crowded and not enough chairs for everyone. Ordered a love tea and they forgot about it completely, then after 20 minutes I got a latte for £3.50.
Good food quality. The dumplings are delicious. However, some of the dishes were too spicy for me to eat. The sour white fish noodles had lots of green chillies and all my mouth (and stomach afterwards) was in pain, even though I ended up eating only the fish. It would be nice if the menu had some indication of how spicy the dishes are. On the other hand, the menu is full of pictures, so it s easy to figure out what each this is. The English can be very weird at times (check attached photo of desort ). The service could be a bit better. We had to insist several times until we got some tap water. If you like spicy food, you ll probably love everything. Next time I think I ll stick to dumplings
It is suggested that the male boss kneel down to serve food to foreigners. JIAN is disgusting in his bones. It is recommended that Chinese people who go to eat first check to see if there are any foreign customers around them after entering. If there are, believe me, you will be treated to the extreme of serve one dish in an hour and ask the boss to come over and the boss will not even look at you service, and you still need to pay for this disgusting service. To be honest, if I have the money, I would rather give it to Homeless and still receive a thank you. We have eaten here many times and have recommended this restaurant to people around us, but now that the prices have been increasing and the dishes are becoming less and less, forget it. With this service attitude, whoever goes there will become unlucky GOOD LUCK
So good!
The food at @72 China is nice, tasty, and fresh. The service is not always spot-on, so I definitely wouldnt recommend them to someone just willing to grab a quick bite.
Authentic and delicious.
Excellent food and strongly recommended for mandarin food enthusiasts
So fucking delicious
Good hot pot. However the service is as you would expect from a Chinese place- customer service isnt really their thing.
Hyeseop bought it for me. I hope you finish your doctorate well and continue to get good opportunities... What am I writing here?
Beautiful decoration ,great service and lovely food!
Good food, and affordable price. Went to the restaurant with a group of friends, and the food was tasty and served very quickly.
Delicious food!
Fab combination of authentic and tourist Chinese dishes. Good prices. Quirky interior.
Had a dish with duck and rice. The duck was fairly grim. Lots of bones, it was essentially inedible. My associate had a classic beef with black bean sauce, which was delicious. So ok overall but avoid the duck
A bit expensive
I used to live in China and this about as authentic as Sichuan food gets outside of China. Obviously some dishes may be too spicy and oily for some tourists/locals
Very good taste and service. Original Chinese cusine.
A very special place, we had a fantastic evening. Thank you
Great traditional chinese food. Good service, nice restaurant in general and lovely deserts.
Lovely Chinese food at reasonable prices. I love the pork belly!
over the year the price has gone up and quality and service have gone down. This used to be my favourite place, and then the female boss is now having a really aggressive attitude to everyone. My recent few visits have been consistently bad.
delicious
Fantastic Chinese Restaurant. Lots of spicy food. Recommend the fish and ma po Dou fu
We have been regular visitors since this place opened, because their sechuan selection is great, plus because they dont close in the afternoon like make other places do after lunch hour and before dinner. And, because its 2020, they are one of the few places who strictly adhere to the 2m distancing between tables.
Awesome place, better than the ratings suggest. ORder off the Sichuan food menu, thats where the gems are!
Consistently great food, very good and prompt service. We visit often and its also family friendly.
The food was amazing, quite traditional and on the point. Fast and friendly service, good prices.
Good food in terms of amount and taste. The food comes out quick.
Tasty albeit small Dim Sum selection.
Good authentic place. Accommodating staff. No frills. Good food.
Expensive and too authentic for normal Western European s
The taste wasnt bad, but the part-time workers were so rude and didnt understand English, so I thought they were the bosss daughters. I ordered Kwaobaro and Hot Pot, and I dont care how rude the staff is as long as the food tastes good, but the store is like Dodaegi Market and there are a lot of Chinese restaurants like this, so I recommend going somewhere else to eat.
My fav.
Food is just fine.
Comfortable, traditional setting. Cheerful and polite service. Theres a wide range of dishes from several regions of China, and the staff are happy to suggest options if you dont want to choose for yourself. Its a popular place.
Sheep and scorpion hot pot, there are fewer and fewer sheep and scorpion. There used to be some cold dishes, but now they are gone, and the service attitude is also very average. . .
Highly recommend Chinese food! Nice food and very friendly staff!
Food are good, can tell that the chef is from the main land of China. I give 8 out of 10 on the food.
One of the Best Chinese restaurants I have been to. Awesome food with a super friendly staff. Reasonably priced. All the waiters had a smile on their face all the time. Reasonable waiting time as well. Calm cozy atmosphere
Good chinese food, definitely more peppery spice preference. Service is alright.
It s ok, the portion is huge
Very delicious. Spicy hotpot and boiling fish.
Great food!
Great food, great service and overall wonderful experience
Hit to the guts, in the sea of bland chinese food
Food was good, with this typical Chinese food flavor that tastes the same no matter where you are..., a bit too spicy also but I guess you could be able to specify your preferences We were a big group. Friendly people and nice service. Good Chinese restaurant
Passing by Cambridge, pretty good Chinese food,
Nice resturant with authentic Chienese food. They have lots of variety. The ambience is very good. There is dedicated parking available. You have to park at roadside parking. It has accessibility issue as it is not accessible using wheel chair.
Excellent food.
Absolutely loved it! Greatly recommended it!
