3 Thompsons Ln, Cambridge CB5 8AQ, United Kingdom
Contemporary riverside restaurant preparing classic and modern dishes from around Italy.
Fancied a bit of Italian and luckily found this marvellous establishment. It really was top notch. 👌 As good as my ol' mama's home cooking. She's not from Italy, she's from northolt. But hey! Mamma Mia.
Had a meal on the 31st October and my five friends and I had a fabulous meal, in a great restaurant with superb owners. I cannot rate the service and food highly enough. It is a great shame the owner is closing at Christmas, but really glad we managed to find this place on our first trip to Cambridge and if I go back before this place closes I will definitely book another table. Excellent.
Best carbonara I had in Cambridge! Lovely restaurant would visit again
The food was very good. The steak was delicious and the sea bass too. The pasta was the only one that was not that popular with the group. The location is nice, and service excellent. The house wine was very good too in general very happy to have visited this place. Worth a visit definitely
Lovely restaurant with outdoor seating by the river. We enjoyed pizza, lasagna, penne arrabiatta and garlic bread. They also do some very tasty home made desserts. This place is very popular so make sure to book as walk-ins aren’t guaranteed, especially during peak season.
We had a lovely dinner. Everything was delicious, the appetizers exceeded my expectations. attentive staff. great location near the river is what you need on a hot summer day. We had a great meal and will definitely be back again soon.
Lovely food. We did wait for a bit for the menu but the waitress ( assume the owner) is so nice and warm....we loved the food and atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommended 👌
The food here is absolutely top tier. 5 stars! I absolutely reccomend it. The lady who served us was lovely with great service. 1 star dropped because it was a bit of a strange experience trying to enter the restaurant but the door was locked. We had to wait for 2 minutes in the cold while the lady at the bar just watched us. Once we got into the restaurant, we had to wait another 4 minutes for our pre-booked table. But once we were sat down, the rest of the night was lovely. I understand that they were short staffed though. Despite the start of the night. The food is absolutely worth it.
Awesome place, sad to here they are closing. Best italian food, other than actually being in Italy.
A wonderful place with delicious food and warm hearted people. Grateful to celebrate the end of an era with you Grazie mille!!
Chef was very good cook and got to speak Italian with the waiters and banter.
A regular option when in Cambridge. A very nice restaurant, friendly service, nice atmosphere Vegetarian options: Not a ton of choices, but there is enough for vegetarians
Lovely restaurant. The food was perfect, as was the service. So sad that they are closing from Christmas, as the owners are retiring
Great food and lovely service.
RUDE! 4 of us, 2 male and 2 females in our 40s and smartly dressed, walked in and asked if there was a table available. The restaurant was mostly empty. The lady at the bar asked us to wait and someone would seat us. After 5 minutes we were still waiting and some other customers bustled past us and sat themselves down. The head waiter went straight up to them and asked them what drinks they would like. We asked at the bar again if we could have a table and we re told those customers are regular, they take priority . So we went to a different restaurant.
Moved out of Cambridge and I know Ill miss La Mimosa, its such a sure-fire bet on amazing food and good service. Its amazing, and the location is just an absolute bonus. Love it.
Nice people serving good tasty Italian food at a reasonable price. Whats not to like?
Fantastic place with welcoming staff
We were a group of seven and we really enjoyed our meals here. Nice atmosphere and service and fab food.
Perfect for authentic Italian food and vibes. It was so delicious!!!
Best lasagne Ive ever had. Lovely staff and restaurant. Will definitely be coming back!
Very pleasant environment; friendly and good value. Tasty food
We have been coming to La Mimosa for twenty years with friends and family. Always excellent food, excellent service and lovely atmosphere. For us it is the best restaurant in Cambridge. Food
Lovely place, food was really good and reasonably priced. Was chatting to the owner who was really friendly and welcoming!
When after 15 days of English food, you feel the need for Italian flavours, come to the Mimosa restaurant. Good food! I tried the Neapolitan bruschetta and the Bolognese lasagna. Everything as per tradition. You can choose the outdoor table overlooking the River Cam. Excellent beer.
Food was great, clean place with friendly staff as well.
Best pizza Ive had in years
I have had several fantastic meals at La Mimosa. The food tastes like Italy, and the staff are all fantastic. 10/10 I cannot recommend them highly enough.
They claim to be authentic Italian but they clearly have never eaten Italian food before. They serve ravioli in a veggie soup and Pizza Hut quality pizza. The prices were outrageous compared to the quality of the food. I was shocked to see how many people were in there, when the place should clearly change management.
Family run business, wait for order is long but the food is good
Asked for tap water earlier for my wife as she was extremely thirsty due to heat. Staff refused to provide us water.
So inhuman, I am 6 month pregnant and I requested them for the toilet, but they refused me and were so rude, the receptionist said that its only for the customers, I should go for the public toilet, he was too rude. I had an emergency and requested him a lot but he didnt allow me. This happened today (29th June) at 19: 35 pm. So disappointed.
The older gentleman walking around seating people lets you know this place is worth eating at. The daughters that are serving you moms cooking a reminder of why youll be back.
5 stars isn t enough! Incredible hospitality and the food is impeccable. Our favourite restaurant in not only the city of Cambridge but also all of the UK. The ravioli al gamberetti is the best pasta dish I ve ever had. The crostini alla napoletana is also excellent. We return time and time again, and are never disappointed
Fantastic afternoon celebrating 2 colleagues 60th birthdays. Yummy food & great service.
Dont bother coming if you havent booked. Very rude guy (looks like he s the owner) will just ask you to leave. He shut the door in front of a few people asking, when he couldve said nicely. No need to be rude.
Celebrated our wedding anniversary, first experience of la Mimosa, brilliant hosts, and delicious food, made to feel very welcome, will most definitely return soon.
Amazing staff . Food was glorious
Delicious, well prepared dishes
Absolutely lovely restaurant, clean and great atmosphere - We came as a family for an evening meal, the service was excellent (friendly & welcoming), the food and drinks were delicious! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. We will definitely come again. Grazie!
Carbonara is 10/10 and the service is so kind and friendly
Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Plus the pizzas were delicious
Wonderful place, beautiful decor and lovely staff, definitely coming back to try other dishes
Had Maria as our waitress and what a pleasure she was. Very welcoming and accommodated our needs. My partner and I went for the carbonara and lasagne, and both agreed was the best we ve ever encountered. This place is a must to visit if you love traditional Italian. We ll be back soon!
We ve had a wonderful diner there with my fiancé last night. Smiling service, excellent food, we highly recommend this place
Treated like family, great food, and an atmosphere conducive to good conversation. What more could you want?
Very nice and friendly. My pizza was delicious
Wonderful Italian restaurant. Food perfect and delicious. Lovely friendly owners and staff. Couldnt have been more satisfied with this choice.
An amazing gem in Cambridge. This is a family restaurant, there is a wonderful atmosphere. The food was fabulous, and the staff were very attentive. I would highly recommend La Mimosa to anyone who wishes to have an Italian meal when visiting Cambridge or if you are lucky enough to live there to book ahead to ensure that you get a table. Thank you so much.
An absolute gem of a restaurant. Great service, food and ambience.
Lovely food, delicious dessert but service was a little slow. Definitely somewhere for a relaxed evening when youre not in a rush! Food
Best Italian food in Cambridge
Ravioli was so delicious my partner wanted to lick the bowl and the carbonara was just as good As has been said before the chocolate cake is delicious. Terrific service so 10/10 and thank you for a wonderful meal Recommended dishes Ravioli
Great place, excellent food. Warm and cosy atmosphere. Worth to visit. Very friendly staff, greetings to Don Benedicto
Excellent friendly service as usual! Recommend! Wheelchair accessibility: One of our party is in an electric wheelchair and this venue is very accessible Food : 5/5 |
Pathetically behaving staff specially the old guy. doesnt have respect for people as if he is serving for free. stay away from this place 100 m away if you have self respect
Wonderful
An absolutely terrible customer service, the owners were very rude and disrespectful to me and my group of friends. I don t recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoy a cozy atmosphere.
The customer service we received from the owners at this restaurant was absolutely appalling. They treated me and my friends with a shocking level of disrespect and disdain, leaving us feeling incredibly disappointed and upset. I strongly advise against dining here if youre looking for a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
As an hijabji muslim girl i am very offended by this restaurant!!!! They were so rude and refused to serve us! We were kicked out
Super food, had lasagna, cozy restaurant and nice staff
Met an old school friend I hadnt seen for a while and La Mimosa sounded ideal but we hadnt been before. We were not disappointed, the place was immaculate, staff friendly, obliging and very patient as we were chatting so much! Cost was very reasonable also and would definitely go there again if in Cambridge. We ate at 1pm on a Saturday. Well done La Mimosa.
Great location but they wont allow you to use their wc even for paying customers unless youre seated. They claim the toilets are very old - well upgrade them then! The owner needs to change their attitude i wont be visiting again.
We called mid afternoon about a table booking for that evening. Although me and my partner thought that the answer would be no, we were very surprised that the owner was able to accommodate us. The owners are very warm and welcoming people. The food was spot on and we have never had a bad meal in the past. It is a lovley restaurant and both my partner and I were very pleased with the experience I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
A fantastic Italian that I only found out about by being invited to a intimate wedding reception there. The food was great and the service is very much traditional Italian style, friendly and make you feel like a member of the family.
Lovely service and food
We did not eat here just had a lovely relaxing drink overlooking the river the food did look amazing so will definitely be returning to sample it another time
Before we had our dinner in the restaurant I went in to get a nice hot chocolate with Baileys for takeaway to have something warm on that quite cold punting tour, which started next to the restaurant. After that, we were hungry and decided to go back to this very nice and authentic Italian restaurant. You could directly tell that it is a family-run business - we got to know the business owner, who was telling us about the 20 year history of the the business and his family, his wonderful wife and youngest daughter supporting him that evening. We ate the sea bass and crab ravioli which were fantastic. The restaurant is beautifully situated directly next to the river with an amazing outdoor area. The restaurant itself is very charming and comfortable furnished. All in all a perfect and delicious evening with the pleasant nature of the local run family business. 100% recommended!!!
I mean these guys are beyond rude. We phoned for a reservation (the only way you can book as per their website) 20 times with no answer. So we decided to chance our arm anyway. We walked 20 minutes and asked if maybe they had a quick 30 minute table for a pizza at 6pm and all we got was a super dismissive we re full and a turned back. I said that they should pick up the phone when people call (as all their advertising suggests we do that! Call for take away and table bookings!) and all I got was you can see how busy we are . AND if you dont like how we operate go somewhere else! . Honestly?! Just the rudest reception I ve ever had and I am someone that doesn t normally care. Don t go near this place. Family run?! Perhaps by not the best family !
We arrived for our reservation and were told to wait for someone to seat us. After waiting 10 mins and not being acknowledged by any waiting staff we were finally seated by a grumpy, blunt waiter. The restaurant was not near full capacity to warrant such a delay. The female waiter on the other hand was much more friendly. The starters were very nice (garlic bread and mushrooms) and so was the carbonara but the vegetarian pizza tasted equivalent to a supermarket oven pizza. The location by the river is lovely. A bit of a mixed experience which could be easily improved by a better waiter.
Amazing food and service in a beautiful venue, bliss!
Another fantastic meal. Excellent food and friendly service. Cant wait for our next trip to Cambridge.
Family run, very cool but you probably need to book.
This is a great restaurant, high quality food and attentive service
Absolutely tasty food. We ordered salate, pasta and dish of the day and all were super tasty. Aperol was well made as well which is rare nowadays in Cambridge. Nice view on the river. Highly reccomended to visit
Forgot to pack a picnic? This place is great for ordering pizzas to-go so you can enjoy in the park. Dining in is fine, but not a must. They do have the coveted chili-oil if you are a fan of dipping your crust.
I would give this place a zero but its impossible. The service is dreadful! The wait was 20 minutes even though there were empty seats everywhere.
The food we had at La Mimosa was so great, my girlfriend finished her Ravioli with crayfish and prawn before I did, and that never happens! I had the chicken and mushroom, which was spectacular, the sauce is incredible especially. We were fortunate that this restaurant was closeby our hotel, it is worth the travel to experience the good alone. The service was warm and friendly and the waiter was singing as he carried our food over to us, adding a excellent touch to the atmosphere Would definitely visit again!
Delicious food in a great location. I had a big booking quite late and the staff were very efficient and the service was excellent.
This is quite a nice restaurant. But the food is a bit polarising. A number of people in the group I went with liked it a lot. If youre after a pleasant meal in a nice setting, La Mimosa can provide. But dont go in with expectations of solid Italian food as, in my opinion, its a bit disappointing. I think at the price point of £30pp, I expected more.
Beautiful Kid-friendliness: It contained kid meal Food : 5/5 |
Lovely non-chain, authentic Italian restaurant serving really delicious food. Try it, you wont be disappointed!
This has to be one of (if not) the best restaurants on Cambridge. The family run establishment provides food thats simply magnificent. This is my 3rd visit to this restaurant, and it just keeps getting better. Courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable staff with the style and panache of a top top top restaurant. 5 stars for everything
Visited on a lovely warm Friday evening for a Mum and Daughter dinner, we arrived 30mins before our booking, the staff accommodated our early arrival and were so friendly and pleasant! The food was incredible and the wine was fantastic. Atmosphere was so beautiful I would highly highly highly recommend visiting!
We went with our friends. The staff was very friendly the service was excellent and the food was amazing. Will visit there again.
Great place have been going for years, and it never disappoints. We just love the place
From the phone call to book the table to the farewell at the door a wonderful experience at this family run resturant. So friendly and welcoming, the best Italian food we have had, and at a very reasonable price. The location on the River Cam just a few minutes from city centre, by the punt boat operators, is stunning, the sort of place you might expect to be a bit of a tourist trap rip off, but absolutely not! After a superb meal and a few very reasonably priced glasses of great house wine/prosecco, we meandered back to our accomodation along the river bank path. Perfect! Go there!
Excellent Italian restaurant in Cambridge, we returned two evenings because we enjoyed it very much, generous and tasty portions.
Fantastic food and service in a lovely neighbourhood location just outside of the mad hustle and bustle of the city centre. Staff were absolutely charming and service was speedy and attentive. We were genuinely impressed by the simplicity of the food and the flavours - it felt very much like elevated home cooking and all the better for it. Particularly recommend the spinach and ricotta ravioli which was light, flavourful and very fresh. Vegetarian options: Plenty of excellent and tasty vegetarian options.
Beautiful food and a beautiful restaurant with a view of the river. Highly recommended
Gorgeous food, lovely house wine, beautiful setting, friendly - highly recommended!
This was just perfect. Not too big but there was plenty of space between the tables that you didnt feel as though you were sat on another tables knee. People came and went whilst we were there but were never made to feel we needed to leave. The staff were attentive but not sat on your shoulder. The food was delightful we all enjoyed everything.
Fabulous experience at La Mimosa for our family meal on Saturday evening. The food was excellent and service friendly and attentive. Would thoroughly recommend this place. Vegetarian options: We had one vegetarian in our party and were are plenty of options for them to choose from.
Beautiful food, great service, decent prices
Warmly greeted, excellent service and delicious food at a fair price. This was our first visit but not our last, highly recommended Food
Friendly people and good food
Food was below average - calzone was not real calzone but a normal baked pizza folded after cooking, ingredients overall seemed to be on the cheaper side (no taste tomatoes etc), service was decent but at the end they brought desert menus and forgot about us. We left with no deserts. I should learn not to trust italian restaurants selling pineapple pizza
Very nice location, but the food and the service a bit disappointing: my calzone was a bit underdone - I do understand that it is not easy to get it right, but it is not mandatory to have it on the menu; the accompanying salad was not necessarily tasty.
Amazing location and even better food, love it!
We booked here in advance after reading the excellent reviews on trip advisor. We booked fairly early after the theatre show had finished and it felt very empty but soon filled up. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by some friendly faces and the owner was having a bit of a laugh with us. The food was well presented and tasted lovely, all served with a smile! We would definitely recommend this for anyone who enjoy flavoursome food.
Lovely atmosphere and delicious food.
A solid spot for some Italian eats. My friends and I each just got a separate pasta dish. I thought the tagliatelle alla carbonara was excellent; wonderfully creamy yet not too heavy, with a very balanced and not overwhelming flavors. I also tried a bit of the lasagna which I thought was good but not great. I thought the prices were quite expensive, though to be fair the portion sizes were quite large. The nice decor and location both contribute to a pleasant dining experience. The service was also good, though it seemed like they forgot about us before finally getting us the check. Overall easily a net positive experience.
We went on a rainy day so could not make most of the view, the food was very average and pricey for the average taste. Though this would be ideal date night in summer. Super friendly and kind staffs and would have had one of the best views.
Tried to go here last two times I was in Cambridge but its always been fully booked, probably all the other runners in tomorrows Half Marathon had the same idea. I phoned a couple of days in advance this time, the proprietor Don said they were full, but to come early and theyd squeeze us in as were only 2. Sure enough, they gave us a table straight away, enough veggie options, I had pizza fiorentina and mimosa cheesecake, with a pint of Moretti, all delicious. Nice place, just right for pre-race dinner
Service was excellent and the staff were really friendly. I enjoyed my black pudding starter, it was delicious and a good portion size. I wasnt massively impressed with my main dish though. The Sea Bass was cooked very well but the vegetables were a bit bland and uninspiring and the potatoes were equally dull. Not a bad experience but I have had better.
Ive never been before, and was so impressed with the great service, good food and delicious Champagne
Great ambiance, food, and service!
We visited this restaurant for the first time since the pandemic, having been there several times before. As on previous occasions it did not disappoint, food & service was absolutely top class! We will definitely be back. Thank you La Mimosa
Good service Uncomfortable seats Over price
What a gem!! Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic ambience and setting....FANTASTICO!!
Over priced. Staff was good Seats were uncomfortable
What a fabulous find. Service great and food amazing
Amazing food, amazing service and gorgeous interior, we hit up on this by accident what a happy accident indeed! We loved it!
Fab place. Always a great welcome and amazing food.
An amazing staff and delicious Italian food
Had an amazing meal at this little gem over the weekend. We had the ricotta and spinach pasta and the bolognese. The staff were so friendly and polite, albeit very busy. The homemade cheesecake was DIVINE. I took a picture, but had already eaten half of it!! Highly recommend and will definitely be returning. First class food and first class service.
if they had served their pizza in Italy theyd have been arrested and had the restaurant closed forever. At least cheese cake was good, but still I cant believe it has 4 stars. Fake Italian restaurant
Fantastic Bread, great Pizza.
Hosted a birthday party here for 25 people and we all had a fabulous time. Don, Cali and their staff were amazing all the way through from the planning stage to the day itself. Lovely food and top quality service. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend the calzone and changes to ingredients if youre fussy like me and easily catered for. We were a big group but still made to feel very welcome and the glasses never run dry:)
If you wanna eat frozen pizza , it s right address, enjoy it
Very disappointed. Served us a £2 supermarket style frozen pizza. The food was served within 10mins of placing an order, which further confirms the lack of authenticity. Not acceptable.
If your favourite meal consists unseasoned chips and tomato ketchup, this restaurant will feel like a delicacy, however, if you have the palate of anyone older than the age of 5 then the food will taste bland, with no seasoning and poorly cooked. The pizza was almost like an Iceland frozen pizza was thrown into a pizza oven, while the spaghetti bolognese tasted as if it were just tomato and mince. Also, although the restaurant seemed to be empty when we were eventually let in, people were turned away as it was deemed to be fully booked by the man at the door. However, the service and staff were kind, just disappointed by this supposedly authentic Italian restaurant
Medioka italian. I think due to staff shortages fully booked at half or under capacity so low on atmosphere. Food was meh, garlic bread wasnt much better than shop bought, ravioli sauce was mostly stock cube flavoured and pizza was pretty flavourless and not much up on frozen. Not worth the price.
I have been coming here every so often for 19 years. Great friendly service and location but the menu has deteriorated significantly, sadly. Very little choice now, especially with starters and mains - all pizza and pasta, like a high street chain. Ordered steak with chips and salad. Steak was perfectly cooked but very small, salad was paulty five leaves and a slice of tomato, while chips were few. Very poor for £21. And mayonnaise served in sachets. All pretty pretty awful for the prices they were charging and presenting itself as an authentic ristorante. Kitchen/menu needs a full overhaul for us to come back, unfortunately, because it could be so much better with some TLC. And more popular too as it wasnt that full for a sunny Saturday evening.
We do not complain about food prices when the food is of good authenticity and quality, but 4.90 for cold shop brought baguette and oils. 13.90 for some prawns not in there shell that could of quite easy been cooked at home with butter chilly and garlic. The ravioli pasta was of good quality and had been made fresh but was in a watery vegetable soup like broth, most disappointingly was the pizza which although the toppings where fresh, the pizza base did not seem fresh at all, even more so they use a kebab shop type pizza oven and not a wood fired pizza oven. What a disappointment! The wine was good and the outside area very nice on a good note.
Wonderful people running the place, excellent food. We was quite surprised at how fast our food came out, this could be good or bad. It has a beautiful outdoor space on the river
If you have the ravioli al gambaretti (and I would strongly recommend that you do), be sure to order garlic bread with it - you will not want any of that sauce to go to waste! Absolutely superb, and prices are reasonable for tourist Central Cambridge.
Very nice - good food good service
A place we go to regularly. In summer and weekends its better to call ahead and book. Very friendly family run restaurant. Great pizzas and a delicious tiramisu! Kid-friendliness: Really good with kids, they have child sized pizzas.
Situated on the edge of the Cam, lunch under a sunshade watching the punts go by is an experience not to be missed. The food is excellent with pasta, pizzas, and fish and meat main courses. Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free pasta, vegan ice-cream and are extremely helpful in advising on allergens.
Disaster service refusing customer à 5pm to have a drink to focus on serving dinner I have lived on Cambridge for years and this is just an exemple where Cambridge has become distasteful and only a money making machine
The man at the door was very friendly but unfortunately the service inside and food wasn t great, especially for the price. The seafood salad was actually quite unpleasant, with just some undressed leaves and cold, rubbery seafood. Wouldn t recommend it.
Lovely place. Excellent food and service. Only reason this gets 4 instead of 5 stars is that despite delicious starters and my fantastic steak main, my wifes pizza was a little underwhelming.
Outside seating a must. Beautiful spot on river. Beef filet special truly outstanding. Would have cost 2x as much in London. House wines very adequate. Service outstanding. Visited 7 yrs ago and was as pleased then. Hope to visit again!
Nice location. The pizza was ok... but really at this point theres no excuse for ok pizza.
Very good food, and a nice family-run business, but odd opening times. Always check/book before going.
Kindly asked the gentleman on the door if I could possibly use the bathroom as i had been unable to find a bathroom and as I have a medical disability concerning my bladder I can find it hard to hold on for long periods of time. The gentleman told me I shouldn t be wasting my breath and refused to let me in. Not impressed, especially since I have a disability.
Wow, what a delicious meal! Really, really yummy. I had the crab/crayfish/shrimp ravioli and my husband had the steak frites (but in Italian) and both were superb. Sitting outside quite pleasant, though people standing around waiting for punting not as much a river view - that s a Saturday afternoon in late July for you though. But this place is splendid, a new favourite.
Good pizza
Clean friendly place with good authentic Italian food. Nice location next to the River Cam watching the punts go by.
Amazing food and good price ! I recommend this place.
This restaurant has a nice view overlooking the cam river. The service is a bit slow and food portions don t match the price tag. My favourite was the Pimm s with lemonade cocktail .
Stopped here for lunch after a punting trip which finished outside. Each had a different salad and variety of drinks. Service was friendly and prompt and salads were large and tasty
Nice view, great staff, but the pizza is awful. Was it bought from Tesco? You cannot serve bread with olive oil if you buy cheap supermarket bread.
Great Food, Great Service
Fantastic authentic Italian restaurant with great food and service. Outdoor setting next to the River and alongside Jesus Green Park. We all enjoyed the food in a relaxed garden setting. Highly recommended, second time we have been, and will definitely be going back.
Service was good and food was alright
Fantastic
Lovely dining experience yesterday evening an amazing meal and staff exceptional we hope to return vey soon. Thank you.
Service was excellent, extremely friendly. Daughters pasta very good. My meal, the special of slow braised beef was poor.
Best
Fairly average main options for the price but very tasty and well-presented deserts (must try their chocolate cake), excellent location by the riverside and great customer service. Would definitely recommend booking a table for dinner with the family or a group of friends, especially if you re in central Cambridge on a warm, sunny summer evening!
Servers are really friendly. Crab ravioli with prawns is exquisite!
Amazing authentic food, lovely friendly staff. What more could you want?! Highly recommended.
Wow ! Food was amazing , lovely atmosphere too
Ok food but there is definitely better italian food in Cambridge. Do not go for pizza, the crust was really not good and likely not homemade. Nice service.
Nice place along the Cam. Nice people. Good food
Outstanding, great food, service and location.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and the wine was amazing
Perfect
Nice and friendly staff and clean place. well kept. Only thing i could say is thats the food was over priced for what you get. Food quality wasnt the best either. I wouldnt have minded paying that bit more if the quality was better. All in all lovely Italian family restaurant but very over priced.
On a cold blowy autumn night La Mimosa totally delivered when the rest of Cambridge was insanely busy. A bit off the beaten path (and all the better for it) but great food and fantastic service. Totally recommend, thank you La Mimosa.
Lovely Italian food, great friendly service and nice setting next to the river
La Mimosa, what a little gem this restaurant is. Lovely people, welcoming with superb customer service. The Italian Menu is varied to suit everyone. Quality of the dishes we had, from the Pizzas, pastas, ravioli etc.. were delicious. As were the desserts, that looked and tasted so so good. Great ambience, bright and welcoming restaurant. Definitely will be visiting on our next trip to Cambridge in coming months. An absolutely delight.
we love it family run business food amazing always very friendly
The restaurant is situated in a lovley setting by the river and park. The outdoor seating has a great ambience on a lovley day. The place is family run and provides a lovely service. The pasta dishes were average, however. I ordered 3 different dishes to try a variety but none of them particularly stood out. The salmon pasta was far too rich and salty. Whilst the place is lovely, I believe the kitchen has more potential than what I experienced.
