Italian plates, like housemade pastas, in a chic but homey space with fine wines & fireplace.
I’ve been coming here since Pammy’s opened and it has always been consistently great. Food and cocktails are divine. I have honestly never done the pre fixe menu since I will saunter in for the bar and order a la carte. They are known for their inventive and delicious pasta dishes but they will often have a seasonal appetizer that is life changing. Currently it’s a choked squid stuffed with cream cheese and crab that changed me. There is a pasta dish that contains tripe and labneh and I honestly believe it may have achieved one of my favorite bites in all of Massachusetts. It’s one of the few dishes that have been on the menu since the start. I am lucky that I live not so far away so if you have a chance to swing by, this is one spot that I wouldn’t pass up.
Pammy’s delivers an exceptional dining experience with a perfect blend of cozy and upscale. The ambiance strikes a great balance between intimate and lively, making it ideal for date nights or special occasions. The menu is creative, with beautifully crafted dishes that highlight seasonal ingredients and bold flavors. Each plate feels thoughtfully prepared, and the pasta dishes, in particular, are standouts. Service is warm and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. Pammy’s is the kind of place that leaves you eager to return for another memorable meal.
Not convinced by all of the flavor combinations, but the food in general was quite good. Maitake mushoom risotto(?) was extremely delicious. I asked for a wine pairing and the recommendation was great. Excellent and attentive service.
Very cool spot. You pick 3 courses for $84. The menu has a total of 14 courses so it’s not too hard. I started with the bluefin tuna tartare and it was spectacular. I followed up with the lasagne bianca and I really loved this dish due to its uniqueness. To finish I had the loch duart salmon which was very good. Highly recommend it here
My first impression was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone I had interacted with (hostesses, bartenders, servers) were all so nice and accommodating. That in itself was super impressive. Plus, several staff members remembered my name which I thought was a special touch. Then came the bread… the bread was SO fluffy and delicious and the olive oil on the side made for a perfect snack. I could’ve eaten the entire loaf. For dinner, I got the skirt steak with confit pineapple and the gem lettuce. It was probably one of the best salads and meals I’ve had to date. The unique combos of flavor were next level and the presentation made me feel so fancy. I’ve been once before and got the lumache which was equally as tasty. I will be raving about this place for years to come and look forward to my next visit!
usually eat at Pammys every 2-3 months. The menu is always adding a few new dishes. The food is always delicious here. I recommend getting one past dish, one dish dish, and one meat dish. It's the perfect amount of food. Always gotta have room for dessert too. Service is always friendly and attentive. The restaurant is nice too. I recommend only sitting at the bar or communal table. The hightop seats will destroy your back. LASAGNE BIANCA- All the pasta dishes are great. This is what I had today, and it was delicious. It's 10 layers and each layer is seared on one side. So you get the al dente as well as a nice crispy caramelized taste and texture too. The cheese is very flavory too 5/5 LOCH DUART SALMON- delicious melt in you mouth salmon the smokes cherries are awesome and the fermented coconut sauce pairs great with the salmon. I will say the salmon was bathing in a bit too much oil though. Still delicious though. 4/5 SKIRT STEAK- for 30 bucks I upgraded to wagyu beef. Prob the right call if you can. It was perfectly tender and cooked. Tasty savory sauce. 4/5 Bread pudding with banana ice cream Yummmmm. 5/5 perfect bread puddy. Highly suggest to everyone that they try Pammys out. 5/5
I’ve been to a lot of “hyped” restaurants in the Boston area. Sadly, a lot of them don’t live up to the hype. With that said, I was extremely delighted by the end of my meal here! Our waitress, Danielle, was phenomenal and empathetic. Right off the bat, our drinks came quickly and were some of the best I’ve had since Blossom Bar in Brookline. The waitress was able to help accommodate my veganism extremely well by suggesting off menu items that were very well put together that should probably be on the menu. The prices felt very fair for what Pammys was offering. I would highly recommended this place to anyone looking for good food or a special night.
The ambience was lovely and the service was nice. Everyone was very attentive and kind. The food was flavorful and delicious. I enjoyed the farm to table/community table dining style. I did think the pricing was a bit high for the preset + kitchen fee + tax, for the amount of food that was given. However, enjoyed the option to choose whatever you wanted on the preset menu. Would highly recommend the yellow tuna and duck!
Food - EXCELLENT!!! Drinks - Spectacular!!!! Michelle - THE BEST <3 Food : 5/5
The food is great, fun twists on new american standards, the drinks are fantastic and everything is very well priced. Service was lovely, place was loud but it was a Friday night so fair enough. The wood burning fire place is a nice touch and really lovely at Christmas time.
Outstanding!
Warm atmosphere with communal tables. Excellent service with steady communication with between the table and kitchen making for a steady unrushed meal. The sea bass, white lasagna, and salads were delicious and intense in flavor making the smaller portions surprisingly satisfying for my bigger appetite.
Food is delicious but small portions. The bread is really really good. Overall nice place but soooo expensive, could get a comparable meal nearby for half the price.
Pammys is our favorite place in Cambridge. Always delicious. Always excellent service. Always welcomed back like family.
Its extremely salty, to a level that I cant tolerate. Personally think its overrated. We spend $380 for 3 of us, with no drink. I rather go with fine dining with the price I am paying.
Loved it!!! Unique in every way!
One of my favorite dining experiences ever! Amazing food (the lasagna was especially incredible) and service. Will definitely come back!
I was visiting Boston, and stumbled upon this restaurant We came in for the chef tasting menu, and it was absolutely incredible. I also added the wine pairing with my courses and it was divine. Every glass was enjoyable, different and delicious. Highlights from the tasting menu: Stuffed Octopus/Squid (AMAZING) & Tuna Tartar. The only dish I wasn t crazy about was the fish.. it was beautifully cooked, but a heavy portion to end with. Regardless, the dishes are absolutely amazing. Highly highly recommend for you to visit if you are in the area.
Hard to say with this place. Food was great. Drinks were great. Service was great. Value for the price was not. The ratio of service staff to guests is VERY high, which makes for an overall great experience. However, lots of folks just standing around a lot of the time. My water was refilled every time I took a drink. In comparison the service from the kitchen was a little slow. I dont need my dishes to come out back-to-back rapid-fire, but the cadence could improve. Bar service was also quite slow for cocktails. Lots of nitpicks, but for the prices theyre asking it needs to improve. Otherwise, you dont have to look very far in greater Boston to find options that exceed the value at Pammys.
Definitely the best Italian restaurant in Cambridge Mass . It was a wow experience . Just go , you won t regret it
Expensive but worth every penny. Food is delicious, plated beautifully and accompanied by delectable sides and sauces. Portions may seem smaller than expected, but filling. Go for dessert too! Servers and bar staff are very attentive and pleasant.
Pammys was the perfect choice for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. 10/10..5 stars.. round of applause. Service was outstanding. Drinks were perfect and the food blew us away. Alex, Blake and the whole crew went above and beyond our expectations. A few highlights - summer cobbler cocktail, presentation was beautiful. All of the glassware through out the evening was perfect. -Every single dish was thoughtfully prepared. Not one menu item lacked in presentation, texture, temperature or taste. Lumache The veal ribs .. best bite of food in 2024 for me. -the bread pudding stole my heart. Homemade banana ice cream!?! -The whole crew working together to maintain everyone s tables made the experience flawless. A range in service staff that were dropping food, clearing dishes, filling water, pouring wine. That level of service is always the goal but hard to maintain. Impressive!! We will 100% be back- amazing night!
A great meal . But not $300 great, which is what we ended up paying for two people, three drinks, and a tip. The service was top notch, honestly better than some Michelin restaurants. Very attentive, but not in a pushy/over-burdensome way. The drinks were similarly amazing. Every one of the three cocktails we split were delicious, creative, and unique. Then there s the food. I ve often been recommended this restaurant and seeing it on another best of Boston list prompted us to finally try it. It was good, the dishes were plated well, but I didn t leave craving more of anything or thinking how good the food was. It was enjoyable, but not particularly memorable. While each dish had a lot of different flavors, they somehow seemed to lack depth and nuance. From what we did have, our favorites were the chicken, lasagna, and mushrooms. All that being said, definitely worth trying once, but for us, once will be enough (largely due to the price point).
Exquisite food, wonderful atmosphere all around a superb dining experience. Of course this comes at a cost, which is well-deserved.
In town from NYC, brought here by a friend. First off, service was amazing, approachable and insanely friendly. Very genuine and high touch service, and not fake Im nice because its hospitality level of service. Real Im so glad youre here and I hope you love it kind of vibe. Food was a prix fix choose your own adventure style menu where you pick any 3 dishes. Got the Lumache bolognese, the Mafaldine tripe pasta, and the skirt steak with pineapple confit. All were incredible winners. Lumache bolognese only LOOKS like your typical orechiette bolognese, but its so much more with the gochujang bringing an insane depth of flavor with a hint of spice and the extra pockets of the Lumache shape squirreling extra flavor in each bite. It doesnt bring the frutiness a Calabrian chili might, but instead a strong and serious study in savory. The intensity is tempered with a basil chiffonade, but I felt it could have used a bit more to give my palate a rest. The Mafaldine was the most fun for me, as it was hard to distinguish the pasta from the tripe. When it first arrived it reminded me so much of the chili oil tripe dishes you get from sichuan/hunan restaurants, and the flavors are definitely there, but again, rocks around with savory flavors instead of the Mala (I dont like Mala) or vinegar from that dish. Its their own interpretation and I love it so much more this way. The labneh underneath upped the game even more though, tempering the spice and savory with creamy tang, just enough to make it interesting, and keep you going. The skirt steak was also amazing. The steak itself was cooked perfectly tender, and retained all that intense beefiness you love and want from a skirt steak without crossing over to too much minerality. The pineapple confit was a nice counter, especially the caramelized bits, though because it was dark I sometimes confused steak with pineapple. This is definitely a dish where you want to assemble your bites to enjoy the Combination of flavors and textures. Pineapple, steak, swipe in Jimmy Nardello peppers. Wonderful. Special shout out for the lasagna bianco my wife ordered. I love layered things, and Ive never had a lasagna where I could sink my teeth through every delicious al dente layer of pasta and COUNT them on the way down like you would with an excellent croissant. I will be certain to come back next time Im in town. Bravo!
It might be the best restaurant in Boston, it was certainly the best softshell crab Ive ever had.
Just amazing! Food is so creative and delicious with unusual but fresh ingredients. Service is unintrusive and helpful. Not pretentious in the least. Can recommend this place highly enough! (Only gripe is the 6% kitchen charge. Would rather owners manager their costs)
Really romantic place, great food, really hard to get a reservation but really worth it if you eat meat.
Nice meal and interesting dishes. Worth the trip.
Mediocre quality food with nice plating, cramped seating, and decent service. I got the rainbow carrots, bolognese pasta, and porcelet (pork). The rainbow carrot plate was so small - it s just carrots which cost virtually nothing. The pasta was very good and I d say the only thing I enjoyed. The Porcelet was absolutely awful - there was a flavor on the plate (maybe it was the cabbage or an exotic seasoning?) that legit tasted like Lysol or bathroom cleaner and the pork was undercooked, tough, cold and had no seasoning. The table next to me got the pork and they weren t able to finish it either. If I had gotten something other than that pork dish, maybe I d feel differently about my overall experience.
Food portions were extremely small especially considering I ordered a pasta dish, the lasagna my partner got was also quite small. Not quite worth the price.
Very good restaurant, very good atmosphere and we dined it last night, awesome service as well as fantastic food. Will recommend to everyone and will a customer forever .
Great experience! We ate at the bar with the pre fix menu and would highly recommend visiting.
This place is simply incredible. We come to the Boston area once a year and Pammys has become an annual destination. Simply put, this is one of the best places we have ever eaten. The service is outstanding. The drinks are finely crafted with an amazing array of bourbon selections for great prices. And the food is so creative and tasty. Danielle was our server recently and she was fantastic. Minutes didnt go by without our water being refilled and being offered more bread or drinks. Rob, the bartender, was amazing by going out of his way to talk to us about bourbon and even giving us a free pour. The food was so delicious with each bite carefully crafted. Please go to this restaurant to enjoy a terrific meal!
An absolutely incredible meal. All of the flavors were spot on. The food was creatively flavored and each bit seemed perfect. The combinations were really unique and all worked. Service was friendly and attentive and the wine pairings were surprising but absolutely perfect. Kudos to the chefs, wait staff and sommelier! We will definitely make this a destination on every future Boston trip!
We loved this place. One of the best meals we had while in boston. Great vibe great food. Definitely order the Lumache - it made the restaurant famous for a reason. Also if Sea Bass is on the menu that day - HIGHLY recommend. 100% will return!
We got there at 9:45 and the hours is 11:30. There were lots of tables available, but the host clearly did not feel like having someone coming in, se he said there is table available and they are closing in 45 mins. Both was obviously not true. So offensive.
Pasta is the highlight at this relaxing & refined space with grace. Left one star off the food for a - more or less - inconsequential particularity: the proteins were cooked perfectly, and I wanted a little more from the accompaniments. Really, really good, just not perfect ;)
So good! Delicious food The portion size for the duck dish was disappointing. Lumache was great. The white lasagne was, too. Great waitstaff! Food
Ryan the general manager upon arriving 8 mins late before even greeting us promptly let us know there is someone coming in after us and we needed to hurry our meal. The food was excellent, the servers and Katie who picked the wine were superb. Surprised Ryan who acted like that is in that position. Happy to have had my birthday with how amazing the servers and food were. Would love to come back when Ryan is gone.
Best food in the area! 100% must try.
I absolutely loved Pammys! The octopus was to die for and lamb tartare was amazing on its own but even better when paired with the naan. Great time.
Great atmosphere, service and the food was very tasty, interesting and well presented.
The appetizers and pastas were amazing!
Not impressed with this place at all. Bill came to $280 for two people. I was still hungry when I left. Presentation of the food was very nice, however, the food was not good at all. Very little food quantity was given. This place is WAY overpriced for what you get in return. Menu was difficult to understand. I m shocked they gave a free cookie at the end (which was the size of a quarter) because this place just wants your money. You can find much better places for a fraction of the price.
My favorite restaurant during our trip to Boston. The food was absolutely delicious loved the seasonal concept. The salads, pastas and proteins were clearly created with so much care and presented beautifully, in addition to being delicious. Beautiful atmosphere and great service.
The restaurant setting is trendy and well decorated. Definitely a great atmosphere but made it extremely disappointing was the food. I have never had such tasteless food before. The branzino was literally horrible. Tiny piece of tasteless fish - it was so small it was ridiculous and had absolutely no flavor. The Bolognese was under cooked and the sauce really not interesting or tasty. Whole thing was soooo disappointing. Not really sure why it was so packed, other than just the ambience and the decor!!!!
Me and my husband celebrated our first year anniversary at Pammy s. We had the best time! The restaurant gave us a great table, everyone said happy anniversary to us, the food and the wine pairing were amazing. We are definitely going back! Incredible experience.
Food is fantastic, drinks are interesting and crafty. Definitely a great place to share with friends and/or family. Would come back many times over to try the new menus
Lives up to its substantial reputation.
delicious food, loved our cocktails. great service, had a wonderful date night. the space would benefit from acoustic treatment, its clear they havent put any thought into that yet. was possible to converse over dinner but needed to speak up and focus to hear each other over the background level of conversation. some acoustic panels or a heavy curtain on the large back wall, and ideally also some hanging diffusers & absorptive panels up above, would make a huge difference.
Its a great restaurant, Grace and Jamie are awesome!! Thank you.
Many happy memories of date nights and family gatherings. Its worth it just go for desserts!
Not the best experience.
Ive been to Pammys on 4 occasions. The first two times were pre-pandemic, and at that time, the portions were much larger and the staff was more neighborly and accommodating. The last two times Ive been, the portions have been significantly reduced in size and prices have gone up. ~$125 for 3 small dishes and a glass of wine was not worth it, in my opinion. All 3 dishes were good. But at that price point, I was expecting more.
Possibly the best restaurant and cocktail bar in the Boston area
Yum
Maybe one of the best meals I ever had. The presentation beautiful, the service impeccable and the vibe very cool. I am still thinking about how you make a daikon radish puree with such flavor and texture.
Pammys in Cambridge offers a culinary journey that delights the senses at every turn. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting ambiance sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience. The menu is a celebration of seasonal ingredients and inventive flavor combinations, expertly curated by the talented chefs. Each dish is a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Standout dishes include the handmade pastas, perfectly cooked meats, and inventive vegetable creations. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the dining experience, from the impeccable service to the thoughtfully selected wine list. Whether youre celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to indulge in outstanding cuisine, Pammys is a culinary gem not to be missed in Cambridge.
Its always a good time, my best go-to spot in cambridge. The whisky sour is a drink to try!
One of my favorite restaurants in Cambridge! Pammy s menu is creative, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere very cozy! A great overall experience for any celebration.
A class Food, drinks, service and decoration. Trust me. I m a cook. Food
By far the best fusion restaurant I ve had in Boston. Every dish is a unique and creative combination of many ingredients, rich in flavor and texture.
Great food, bartender very helpful picking wine.
A great meal but not outstanding perhaps we came in with too high of expectations but found many of the dishes technically delicious, just not particularly memorable. The mains were our favorite (duck was a highlight, the coppa was also great) while the pasta fell a little short in terms of depth/complexity of flavors. A pricy meal ($79/pp + 6% kitchen appreciation fee + drinks + tips easily puts you over $100/pp), so while the ambiance is great for a special occasion, it probably won t be a frequent repeat for me.
They will hit you with a 6% kitchen fee! Why not just put that on the price of the plates. Food is cooked perfectly and is very interesting ingredients however it lacks flavor. The meals are coursed out and take an hour and a half to eat three small portions. This place is made for drinking and the one cocktail I had was great but not much of a drinker. Its a one time visit kind of place but a great atmosphere. Clean and respectful with attentive service. Overpriced though. The scallop crudo was fresh, and the fresh bread is fresh. The Lumache needs some cream sauce as the sauce is too peppery with the gochujang in it. The tripe is bland in the other pasta dish. And the skate is fun to try but really lacks any umami even with the tonkatsu sauce on it. Kid-friendliness: First place in a while that actually cleans the highchair!
Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free options and versions Food
Always a treat to diner here! The atmosphere and staff are lovely! The cocktails are always delicious, and the food is spectacular! We always enjoy the homemade pastas, especially the lumache!
Wonderful food BUT much too noisy! We are sad to say we won t go back - conversation was not possible.
Pammy s is incredible but be aware that you get what you pay for. My date and I spent almost $400 on our meal (including our servers tip and a $50 bottle of wine). That being said, the food was incredible albeit smaller on the portion sizes. This is the type of restaurant where you ll leave still hungry but the food experience is amazing and the flavors and pairings are wonderful. Not only that but the staff and restaurant space itself were amazing. Overall a great choice if you want to have a culinary experience but not the best place to take mom dad for a burger or a filling meal - it s pretty darn fancy here all around.
Wonderful restaurant, my partner and I did the 3-course pre-fixe menu with the wine pairing and it was delightful. Food was great and often with a little twist of unexpected and surprising flavors. Wait staff is attentive and courteous. Definitely will go back.
The service was great and the place is nice. However, the food is not good. We tried a variety of dishes an I have to say non of them were what we expected, specially for such expensive place, with an average $130 dollars per person.
We had a date night there and had 6 dishes, 3 each, and a wine pairing and then a desert. To be honest I think the food is outrageously overpriced and was to salty, except for the desert, which was good. We had cod cheeks, and fried oysters to start. Nice but lacked flavor. Next was the duck pasta, and black bass. The duck pasta was a bit bland. The bass was fine, but again lacked some real flavor punch, masked by salt. Last was the pork and venison dishes. The venison looked amazing, but the pork was a lump of breaded meat with a pile of arugula lettuce on top. The venison was tasteless, but very soft. The pork was tasty, but the presentation didnt seem right for the cost and establishment. I would say I have paid less for better food. Parking: Cambridge have put bike lanes all along Massachusetts Avenue, with a few paid street parking spaces. It is really tough to get a parking spot on the street. We used the paid parking lot about 2 mins walk away.
Amazing selection, wonderful gluten free options. Definitely a must-try when in the Boston area. Will most certainly return. Phenomenal service thank you Keith!
Wonderful fusion food! The Mafaldine is spicy and tasteful with a twist (beef tripe). The pork milanese is probably the best Ive ever tasted. Its seasoned and cooked right on point
Pammys is my favorite restaurant (period). Whenever Im looking to go to a fancy dinner, this is the place I choose. Every single thing Ive ever tried has been fabulous, but the lumache gochuchang bolognese is my favorite food Ive ever eaten at any restaurant Ive ever been to. The flavors are perfection! If its available, definitely get the pork milanese too.
Very nice food. Got the a le carte and thought the food was fantastic but the portions could be slightly larger. Rarely leave a place still feeling like I could eat more after a meal and a dessert and this was one of them. Recommend you get more than you think you would because the food is good.
Amazing experience. Fantastic, imaginative, delicious food, attentive, friendly service, (went out of their way for our requests) and amazing vibes.
Everything we ate was awesome and the staff treated us as if it were fine dining. Cant speak highly enough of Pammys. Definitely a must try! If they have their special bruschetta with veal. Get it, just get it. Also, the pork Milanese is something I will dream about.
Absolutely delicious, with several creative dishes. Enjoyed the prix fixe menu.
Delicious
We came here for valentine days dinner, so I will not comment on the time it took for the dishes to arrive since on days like these every kitchen is excessively busy. Service is top notch, with our waiter refilling our water and wine glasses promptly, without asking, which was nice and it did not feel intrusive at all, definitely one of the best services weve hadq. Atmosphere is cozy; we got sat in the central table a la Harry Potter Great Hall, granted, we did not specify were to be seated in our reservation, so that is ok. Nevertheless, it felt private since everyone were in couples. They took our coats which was nice. Now for the food. Im usually not picky with my food, and if you see my reviews on almost any other restaurants I give merit where merit is due. The yellowtail had an odd flavor with cooked artichokes, and the sauce felt off. The venison tasted well, but the accompanying sauce took away from the flavor of the meat itself. The scallops were great, alongside pasta dishes such as the kale gnudi and others with truffle which really added to the flavor of the pasta. Overall, we paid close to 400 DLLs for the prix fix menu, plus a bottle of wine which was great. Im critical of it given the price of the food, and overall hype, I was expecting something more I guess. Definitely if you have the money to spend, give it a try, but certainly other places out there offer more bang for your buck, but hey, this place is always packed and it is hard to get a reservation, so this may have been an off night on certain dishes.
Sometimes you gotta go to a 5-star restaurant and eat pig ears
One of the best meals Ive had in a long time, the venison was fantastic, which is the only reason theyre still getting 4 stars. My partner cant eat raw meat/fish, so she avoided anything with the contains raw meat warning, ordered the fried oysters - traditionally a fully cooked dish - only to find out its raw. The restaurant needs to be better about labeling this sort of thing.
Pammys is my favorite restaurant in Cambridge/Boston.
Great dining experience! Our waiter was not the nicest server but we had a great experience!
We love pammys to the moon and back! Highly recommend the truffle pasta and kale cheese balls. Favorite restaurant in Boston for nice sit down and atmosphere and handcrafted plates
Food was amazing
Best restaurant in Cambridge, hands down
Nice atmosphere. Wood burning fireplace is a nice, cozy touch. Cocktails and mocktails were very original/creative.
It was our first time here, and everything was outstanding! Each dish was a masterpiece, and the staff was top notch. I wouldnt hesitate to suggest this place to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much for the amazing experience, we are very much looking forward to our next visit!
Wonderful atmosphere, and excellent food with unique variations on Italian and other types, and really friendly service too.
Did the prix fixe menu. Good amount of food, solid service, great ambiance. The food was a little too daring for our likes at times but definitely prepared well and displaced nicely
Amazing food! Pammy s had been on my list for about a year now, and I m so glad that I finally checked the box. You could taste the freshness of the food, and I loved the chef s take on all the dishes they were familiar but had unique twists. The service was friendly and not overbearing, but I thought the timing of the dishes coming out felt slightly odd. I opted for some of the smaller dishes (scallop crudo, smelt fried oysters, maitakes) and did leave hungry but that s my own fault :) Our table got every dessert, and each was nice, though my favorite were the chocolate moose cake and apples!! Overall, would definitely recommend and hope to go back soon (and get larger dishes)
I ll start by saying the ambiance was fantastic. It felt link an intimate dinner party despite being a fairly well sized restaurant. They have a real fireplace that someone came around to stoke. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive and the drinks were fantastic. As for the food, it was mediocre enough that here I am trying to dissuade others from wasting their money. You could tell everything was made with fancy, fresh ingredients but the flavor combinations just didn t work. It tasted like the owner wanted to justify the $75 per person price tag by just putting together anything expensive they could find. We tried the crudo, kale dish, lumache, venison, short rib, and affogato. A lot of dishes had Asian influences but it honestly just didn t work. The flavor combinations were so off - we picked apart basically every dish because individually the ingredients were fresh and unique but together it was bizarre and unflattering. I wasn t amazed with anything; even the affogato (just ice cream and espresso) was mediocre. The ice cream was bland and the espresso was watery. We had a hard time getting through all the dishes both because it was a solid amount of food but mostly because we didn t want to finish. If you re curious and have $75 per person to blow, then give it a shot. Otherwise, if you want a fine dining experience that has tasty food that you ll want to finish every bite, try Uni.
Great spot in the city, wonderful atmosphere, very creative and delicious dishes. Highly recommended!
Fantastic cocktails and food! Friendly bar tender. Busy restaurant but I can see why its busy!
Great food, chic vibe, a piece of Italian trattoria in Cambridge.
The bar manager Rob created a fantastic cocktail program hands down. Pammys is a must-visit restaurant in Cambridge that truly lives up to the hype. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The decor is chic and contemporary, with an open kitchen that allows you to watch the chefs in action. But its the food that really steals the show at Pammys. The menu is a creative blend of Italian and New American cuisine, with each dish crafted with care and attention to detail. The pasta dishes are a standout, with homemade noodles that are perfectly cooked and paired with delicious sauces and toppings. The seafood dishes are also exceptional, with fresh and flavorful ingredients that are expertly prepared. One of the standout features of Pammys is the friendly and attentive staff. They are always happy to offer recommendations and suggestions, and they truly make you feel like a valued guest. The wine list is also impressive, with a variety of options to suit every taste and budget. Overall, Pammys is a five-star restaurant that is not to be missed. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere make it a standout in Cambridges vibrant dining scene. Whether youre looking for a romantic date spot or a place to celebrate a special occasion, Pammys is sure to impress.
How has Pammys not been written up for James Beard yet? Decor 10/10, menu is constantly evolving with fresh takes, and wine pairings continue to impress after 20/30 visits? Spectacular Vegetarian options: Lots of good gluten free and veg options on the menu.
Love the ambiance at Pammy s. It s only topped by their food!
The soft shell crab was great! Fluke crudo was way too thick and chewy and the fried garlic (?) overwhelmed the dish. The tripe pasta was inedible. Overwhelmingly salty, white peppery, gingerly, and one dimensional with an overly creamy (read: oily) mayo-like emulsion in lieu of a thoughtful sauce. Bolognese with gochujang was pretty good but it was clearly not gochujang but Chinese doubanjiang?? A bit insulted. Black cod was, once again, a tad salty but the ramp sauce was great. Pekin (the breed, not the style) duck was perfectly cooked but cut into laughably minuscule chunks. Polenta cake was too dense and weirdly savory, with none of the pleasant corn flavor. Pear sorbetto was fine and nothing to write home about. The best thing tonight was the alcohol. Theres a killer bar crew here. Definitely would not come back.
Chic, creative new Italian
I recently dined at Pammys and I must say, it was an incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The menu was creative and offered a variety of options that catered to all dietary needs. But the standout dish for me was the bone marrow. It was cooked to perfection and had a rich, buttery flavor that was simply unforgettable. The presentation was also impressive, with the bone marrow served on a bed of salt ready to be added to the pesto pasta. The service was impeccable, with our server being knowledgeable about the menu and offering great recommendations. The drinks were also delicious and perfectly paired with our meals. Overall, I highly recommend Pammys to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch and I cannot wait to return. Five stars all around!
I honestly love the food, service, and ambiance! The pork milanese is tasty, crunchy, and juicy. The lumache is clever and unforgettable. Oh, and the cocktails are so creative and wonderful!
Great overall experience, the food is amazing!!! Celebrated a 30th birthday and loved it! The only thing I would say is servers could have spent a little more time during their interactions. Although the place was busy service was definitely not compromised.
The portion sizes are excellent. Need more vegetarian options. The bolognese is excellent however.
Pammy s is my favorite Boston area restaurant. We went many times when we lived here in 2017 and 2018, so when we were in town for one night only we had to come here. Pammys has the same old charm and great ambiance. From the communal table with gorgeous flower arrangements, the giant mirror on the back wall and the oversized leather booths that are always packed with friends and family gathering, it is just a special place. The service is incredible and the food superb. We got the tasting menu (but I don t think there is a choice- I think all people get it when they come- $74 for three dishes (and you can pick any 3 dishes- even three mains, even 3 of the same dish). Get the blue fish! It s so good. Served in a lemongrass broth and butter beans and cherries my gosh, it s a great summer dish. I could have eaten three of those and been so happy. The beets with house made ricotta was good. The passion fruit adds a nice tangy note with some crunch! The lumache was good and I think a classic dish but wasn t a star dish. The black cod was very good and a bit unusual. Sourdough bread is delicious- soft inside with the crispiest of crusts. We had a variety of beverages, great wines and a dessert bite at the end which was great. We didn t get dessert but many people around us did and I wish we got the mousse. The short ribs were fine and enjoyable but also not remarkable. Definitely experience Pammy s!
Incredible food, service, and atmosphere. Certainly a contender for best restaurant in the Boston area!
The mussels and black cod were very fresh and impressively vibrant in taste. The service and atmosphere were also topnotch!
I went to Pammys several years ago (pre-COVID) and had a fantastic time. However, I was disappointed by my most recent experience. You can pick any of the three courses on their prix fixe menu, so there were lots of great options to choose from. Each course was very tasty, but the portions were incredibly small (even for the larger, entree-like dishes). For $24/course ($72 for the full meal), I expected more. I was also disappointed by the slow service. We waited over an hour after being seated to receive our first course, and the whole meal (without any dessert or post-meal drinks) took ~2.5 hours.
Great tasting menu experience! The plates are really good and i love the option to try different things from the menu. I loved the cod. Super recommended!
Great pastas and cocktails. On the expensive side, but worth while.
Great atmosphere and a nicely decorated place. Stopped in the bar for some drinks and apps and everything was delicious. I heard great things about this places and it was amazing! Would recommend coming here if you are in boston
Their passion fruit cocktail is sensational!
This place is wonderful! I wanted to thank my server and the chefs for making me dairy-free options on their incredible menu. The food was to die for, and the wine pairings were perfect. Such an incredible dining experience. Thank you!!!
Too salty and trying too hard to be different. Yak
Would definitely recommend this Cambridge restaurant for any occasion, especially a special one. Food was amazing!
Servers needs to pay an extra attention with the clients needs
Lovely prefix dinner. Everything was wonderfully plated and delicious.
Exceptional! So many unique and novel flavor combinations
The service and atmosphere is really nice. The food were very well made. The only slight unfortunate thing was the ribs that we got. There are two pieces and one of them is pure fat. We couldn t even eat it. Think we got unlucky with the piece. The seafood here is what I would recommend as it is made just right and flavored very well. The cod and shrimp were exquisite.
Food was exceptional and multiple mind blowing dishes including the Lumache and the Cod. Very good wait staff with a great overall vibe. Certainly in the top 5 restaurants in Boston for us.
Food Their sour dough was perfectly done and the waitress said the secret is they make the flour in-house. I ordered mackerel, duck breast and pork ribs. The grilled mackerel sitting on top of a light broth, that was perfect. The duck breast was served in small cubes and I didn t like the flavour as much. My husband, on the other hand, ordered the lumache twice as he was addicted to it. Everything else Our waitress was wonderful. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and attentive.
Kid-friendliness: This is not a place to take your children. Food
Lovely locally owned restaurant for a special date I loved their Bolognese pasta, NAgroni, and the chefs menu is always wonderful. Make sure you make a reservation before coming!
Had an incredible dinner last night for our anniversary. Staff was incredibly friendly, with multiple people wishing us a happy anniversary and our server Blake giving us a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. We got the crab in chilled pea broth, mackerel, culurgione, mafaldine, black cod, and grilled copa, and every dish was executed perfectly to the point where we couldnt even decide which one was our favorite. Despite the restaurant being packed, the service was attentive but not overly so, and the food was really well paced. This is by far the best restaurant in the Boston area!
Popped in unexpectedly and had a couple cocktails - so glad we stumbled upon Pammys. The Negroni and French 75 were delightful - spot on!
Beautiful restaurant and amazing dinner! Can t wait to go back.
Food
We came to celebrate my friend s birthday. One of the party ran a bit late. The hostess refused to sit us at the dining room even though rest of us arrived on time . I requested for birthday celebration and confirmed with the restaurant beforehand. However, restaurant did nothing and we had to request it on the spot. The food is good but all pasta dishes are overly salted. The 6% kitchen appreciation fee is ridiculous. I won t come back here again given the ridiculous price and mediocre service.
Nice atmosphere but the food service can be quite slow. The gap between first and second course was over 35 min Food is pretty high quality, everything is cooked to the perfect texture, and the flavors are good Culurgione and mackerel were my top 2 favorites. Culurgione is pan fried to perfection with a cheesy/potato stuffing with a delightful sweetness added by the blueberry and texture added by the corn. Mafaldine was a bit on the saltier side and tasted a bit less unique (mostly flavored by salt and chili oil)
Parking: There are a few lots a short walk away, otherwise youre looking for paid street parking Food
Pammy s is serving a truly spectacular meal. The $79 choose your own pre-fixe is a great value for the food you re getting. The gochujang lumache was my favorite dish because of how unique the flavors were, but they were all excellent.
The kitchen was very slow. We waited more than half an hour for each course.
Had some really excellent dishes here. The fluke crudo in particular was excellent, as was the grilled coppa. Other dishes were solid if not spectacular, the lumache pasta and grilled maitake. On the bottom end the red snapper crudo didnt work for me. Didnt enjoy the combined texture of the frozen melon and snapper and overall the dish was too sweet centric. The mafaldine was definitely not for me, not for the tripe but for the garlic chili oil. Ive never had a flavor quite like that. Like a burnt garlic. Maybe it was a mix with the tripe flavor somehow, but previous tripe Ive had has been pretty flavorless so not sure. Anyway, I enjoyed the experience here overall, but dont feel the need to go back.
Servers were lovely, food and drinks were fantastic, and the interior deco/atmosphere was spot on.
This was hands down one of the best meals I ve had in a long time. From the time we walked in the service was incredible, the hostess and our waitress were both so kind. Our waitress walked us through the menu and helped us pick a great wine. The atmosphere was perfect, lively but not too loud. And the food out of this world. The bread was the best thing ever. And lastly the cheesecake is now my new favorite dessert and I don t know how anything else will ever compare. I cannot recommend this place enough and I can t wait to go back! Next time I won t be splitting the cheesecake.
Only split an entree and had one drink but what a vibe! Definitely going back to try more (spaghetti was on point) food and cocktails, which were also delicious! Great job!
Incredible experience with impeccable food. Every bite we took, we were astounded by. So far, one of, if not the best meal we ve had in the city.
Im in the Boston area every 3 months, and pammys is a must stop for me. I have had so many phenomenal dishes here. They are always expanding my palate! Whether it is unexpected flavor combinations or a new protein such as squab or uni, they manage to win me over. The drink menu is marvelous, and I could spend months trying all of their fanciful libations! I usually come early as I dont make reservations and sit at the bar solo and have never had to wait. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Thanks, Pammys!
Absolute favourite restaurant in Cambridge! The lumache is everything. I was a huge fan of the blueberry pasta too.
friendly staffs, good food, nice deco. I will be back ! one of the best in Boston area !
Man this place is good
Not worth it. Salty food.
Very mediocre and extremely overpriced. The pasta is pretentious: it tries to be gourmet and interesting, but it s just random ingredients and badly executed. I ve been twice, and not giving it a third try. Last time I went we were sat at the corner a gigantic shared table. It was very uncomfortable. We had booked it accidentally, but it s unacceptable to be cramped at the corner of a shared table and be paying 150$ per person for badly cooked pasta with randomly selected ingredients.
Great night out with friends. The crudo wasnt my favorite but the gnocchi made up for it.
Amazing dining experience.
Every visit here has been fantastic! Take advantage of the prefix option.
Everything about Pammy s is phenomenal. We happened across this place randomly one night and popped in for a cocktail. We saw the dinner menu and immediately decided to come back another night for dinner. And then we came back for dinner a few more times, and now we re at the point where we are struggling to control ourselves. The menu changes regularly and every offering is divine. Every dish is prepared with such love and care and presented absolutely beautifully. The wait staff are incredibly attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The vibe is cozy, quiet & romantic. Although it can be hard to snag a res, we ve had luck showing up before or after the dinner rush and usually wait no more than 15 minutes for a great table or our favorite spots at the bar. Easily one of the all-around best dining experiences in Cambridge.
One of my favorite spots in all of Boston. We ve never had a bad experience at Pammy s and appreciate their rotating seasonal menu. Would recommend going with a group of 3+ so that you can share plates with friends to try everything. Highly recommend making a reservation (and far out as they quickly book up) to take advantage of their $79 for 3 course choose your own adventure dinner. They do not honor the $79 if you DO NOT have a reservation. We will miss living a rock throw away from this gem.
Lovely meal and service
Decided to go here last minute and was pleased to have only a short wait. Ordered a la cart since we didnt have a reservation. Food arrived quickly and was excellent quality. Octopus on plantain was delicious and ravioli was satisfying. Even table bread was tasty. Only disappointment was my confusing tripe with being a kind of fish instead of stomach! Will have to see about coming back for a special occasion (priced to match the quality, so not an every week place). Dessert of course was my favorite, passion fruit panna cotta that had an excellent balance of flavor and small pieces of meringue crumbled on top.
Pammys had been on my to-visit list for years so finally decided to stop by for a date night, and it was an excellent experience. The food was incredible - I was especially impressed with the squid and tripe pasta dishes but everything was excellent. The chicken breast quite literally tasted like chicken thigh, and our server Michelle told us that it was because the breast is cooked sous vide in lactic acid, which is changes the structure of the muscle fibers - pretty cool if you ask me. Speaking of Michelle, she was great - super attentive but not overbearing, and very warm and personable. Our experience was excellent overall. The only slight downside is that theres not much room in the restaurant, so it might not be the most intimate setting if youre looking for a date night kind of place but thats just grasping at straws. I really look forward to my next visit. Vegetarian options: plenty of pescatarian or vegetarian options
Came here after making a reservation thru Open Table for our anniversary date. We were seated right away, and the staff are friendly and hospitable. Our server, Tim, was awesomesauce and I loved his recommendation of a special drink called the 18th Parallel Right. If you enjoy coconut you will love this! We did the Prix Fixe, had a couple drinks each and shared a dessert and it came to almost $300. The food was good, though a couple dishes were a bit salty. I paid extra for the wagya steak, but felt the crust/searing was too much, diminishing the pleasure of the dish. The Lumache pasta is definitely a must have, with the Pork Milanese and the Venison being our other favorite dishes of the night. The restaurant itself is quite busy and all the 2 person tables are really close to each other. Which means squeezing between two tables to slide into the seat can often result in you bumping one of the tables. And when I say the tables are too close together, I mean to the point that I could hear the person seated on the table next to me better than my wife seated opposite to me lol. Would definitely love to stop by for another couple 18th Parallel Rights at the bar someday!
our favorite restaurant in boston. would go here every night if we could. always sad to see dishes change with the seasons but so surprised by their ability to raise the bar with new dishes every time. same goes for the cocktails. thank you pammys for such a perfect experience every single time!!
Truly a delightful experience. Great food, pretty great cocktails, attentive service. No one ever needed actual peppercorns as a cocktail garnish. There was a strange hiccup at the beginning of our journey though. Id booked a counter (communal table) space for dinner, which is cool. Then when we get there were seated at a table for two by a host, extra cool. We order drinks, then a different host confirms the reservation name, and asks us to move back to the communal table because the other spaces are on a first come first served basis, not really cool. Im confident this was a miscommunication, but the interaction was icky and kind of tweaked the first impression in a negative fashion. Beyond that, would recommend!
Best food Ive ever had. Rob at the bar is so knowable and fun and welcoming, we came two days in a row
Want to sit with 16 strangers on one table? This is your place. Want to select 3 dishes without enough information what they are or how big they are from a large list? This is your place. Enjoy a load restaurant? Here it is. Food tastes good. Wine paring is ok, however one out of three wines was just awful. One of us had too much food, the other person was starving. If a menu would be proposed, this would not happen. The restaurant concept, despite decent food is at least not for me. Maybe for modern audiences? A waste of $300 for two people. Overrated.
Ive dreamed about the braised ribs several times over the last few weeks. Excellent food. Drinks are tiny.
It is simply a B category restaurant. Service was excellent I have to add. The food was good but nothing to rave about taking into account the prices and how hard it is to get a reservation. The dishes are not imaginative or creative at all.
