62 Mill Rd, Petersfield, Cambridge CB1 2AS, United Kingdom
This relaxed, restaurant with Bedouin decor and an open kitchen serves traditional Algerian and hot Moroccan dishes.
Welcome to Al Casbah ‘ The warm and vibrant interior with the draping tent will leave you feeling as though you have entered an ancient medina’ surely is the best way to describe the ambience of this restaurant. Enjoy the freshly made meze dips, grilled meats and fish which are cooked for you on a large open charcoal grill or if you fancy something different from the kitchen try the organic lamb or chicken tagines. We tried the grilled meats served with chips and salad , alongside hummus and pita for starters. It was very refreshing and flavoursome. The Turkish/ grilled market is quite high and common in Cambridge now but this place is worth the visit. The only let down was their service as the place was super busy which was understandable yet they had us waiting for our drinks having to ask twice already. However the food and fabulous company of each other made it a lovely evening to remember ♥️
Made a reservation online for around 7:30pm on a Thursday and was sat immediately. A small, unassuming restaurant with deliciously bold North African dishes. Friendly and fast service. Amazing and affordable food. The bourek was crunchy yet soft. The checkhouka was full of flavor and hearty. Honestly one of my favorite meals in Cambridge. Shoutout to my hotel concierge for recommending this place!
We absolutely love this restaurant and will definitely return! Beyond the exceptional quality of the food, we appreciate how the staff accommodates our dietary needs. When we mentioned we were on a keto diet and couldn't eat carbohydrates, they thoughtfully adjusted our meals. Unlike other restaurants that simply remove the carbs—like rice, chips, or fries—without offering substitutes, this restaurant goes the extra mile to modify our plates accordingly. The staff is exceptionally kind and the food is excellent.
Very good atmosphere, nice charcoal grill and lovely interior, feels like on a holiday! Service was very disappointing, except one guy who look like a manager the other waiters had no manner at all, don’t know how to take orders properly or communicate with customers. Not only about the language problem but the attitude was seriously grumpy and not kind at all, feel like can’t be bothered to work. Also the grill chef was constantly touching his phone when he was cooking our dishes and it was bit uncomfortable to watch. Food was alright, prawns and dolma as starters but nothing specials about it. Chicken thighs was very tender and juicy although lack of flavour, mixed grill was not enjoyable, most of lamb was cooked very well done which got dry very fast and too chewy half way through, chicken was better but again not much seasoning or flavour, sausage was the best somehow, great taste though. Meat should be cooked better as it was not very juicy or tender, really need some improvement on customer service for certain staffs and basic hygiene.
Went for Iftaar. A lovely little local restaurant. Food was delicious. Tables were a bit tight, but overall a great experience. One of those boutique restaurants where you don't talk too loud, because it's that's small and compact, you don't want the next table hearing your conversation. They told us when it was iftaar time and service was very friendly. A welcoming place. We'd go back again. Husband got mixed grill. I got the lamb shank tagine - absolutely delicious with fall off the bone tender meat, and perfect savoury and sweet combo! We had humous and bourek for starters both yummy *apart from meat in humous, which was just grilled meat. Lovely food, cute restaurant, and welcoming service, especially for those of us fasting - were given dates.
Loved how the place looks, it has such a good vibe! Food-wise, I enjoyed my kafta, meat was soft, veggies fresh and I liked the way they prepared rice. Overall, my dish lacked in flavors, I expected it would taste bolder. It’s a nice place, beautifully designed and decorated, the only downside for me is that for me dishes tasted a bit too generic.
240408 Another lovely meal with friends. Grilled King Prawns are well marinated and grilled to perfection. Borek comes with crispy pockets of juicy dough and tender minced lamb. Couscous Royale is gorgeous. The meat selection is almost identical to the grilled platter but the flavor and texture is so different. The chicken and lamb can be easily pulled apart and melt in mouth. The couscous is moist, and the tomato sauce is beautiful. The vegetables (carrots eggplants and radish?) are great too. Chips are surprisingly crispy and delightfully salted (and with skins!!). I usually enjoy chips plain, but the garlic sauce is irresistible :) 230719– I’ve been thinking about trying the place in store after getting a grill combo at last year’s Mill Road Winter Fair and wasn’t disappointed :> Literally emptied all plates. The mixed plate (brochettes casbah) is of great value. The sausage is so flavorful— can’t imagine I almost missed it if I ordered two skewers. The lamb and chicken are nicely seasoned and relatively tender. The rice is very aromatic without being too salty. The starters/sides: Hummus is on the more garlicky and less silky side. Not my favorite type but still tastes fine. Baba ghanoush has a distinct lovely smokiness (probably thanks to the charcoal grill), but personally I’d prefer more tahini in it, as is the case of hummus. The addition of balsamic vinegar is an interesting innovative touch. I haven’t seen in anywhere else. The tabbouleh is really refreshing. Fig tart is lovely (similar to the other place’s :) The chocolate ice cream is tasty and not too sweet. I wonder where it’s from? Service is pretty friendly and prompt (except one of the chairs has a sharp nail but it’s really not the restaurant’s problem.) Good music selection.
The food is delightful but I expected a lot more flavour and surprise in all the dishes. My favourite one is the hummus, just amazing 🤩. The personal is incredibly kind and charm so you can have a nice time there. I’ve also wanted a beer but was impossible to have it because they don’t have alcohol in their menu. Maybe that’s the only inconvenience to turn back. But is a place that I really recommend, I had a grate time.
Food is great, and portions are great for sharing love the experience
Delicious grilled meats, great starters.
Our second visit to Al Casbah and once again a thoroughly enjoyable experience! The food was delicious, juicy meat full of flavour and the service was great - very friendly and helpful. Hopefully well be back in future. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian starters and mains available. Kid-friendliness: High chair available for our toddler and they stored the pushchair out the back for us. No childrens menu but not a problem for us.
The tastiest food in mill road with the most friendly service, shoutout to Jonny Bik, he made our meal amazing - the food is delicious !
Love this place
Very tasty food and nice staff
My mix grilled platter was decent. My cousin found his sharwarma platter okay. The mums didn t enjoy the chicken with cuscus Understandably the restaurant is catered to Caucasian non Arab folk in Cambridge. But if you ve ate at proper Middle Eastern places in other cities, this place is extremely overpriced and average.
Very tasty food and super nice service. Lots of tables in a very small space.
Good customer service the lady was very friendly. But food wasnt that great :/ we ordered shawarma and the chicken was very chewy seemed undercooked. And there was no taste to the food it needed some more flavour. More sauces maybe? Was very disappointed with the food wouldnt recommend. Also very expensive considering how bad the food was. Shawarma was £14 but tasted more like a £1.
Family run business welcomed with genuine service.
Very nice food, thank you so so much and nice service
Tasty food I saw one of the staff constantly cleaning tables and polishing plates, thus the place was very clean. It was nice I didnt smell the cleaning product (many restaurants use scented products!) we enjoyed our time
Very cozy atmosphere with the open grill and beautifully draped ceiling, delicious food and friendly service. Also not expensive.
Nice little restaurant with tasty north africain food . Don t miss the selecto soda drink
Great Ambience and great food. Must visit. Recommend making a reservation as it can get busy at times. You dont want to be queuing to be seated with the smell of great food teasing you.
Amazing place. Authentic cuisine in a lovely place
Thought Id give some love to a place I remember from yeeeeaaars ago. Great atmosphere and decor, yummy food too.
The waiter so brilliant. Food flavour is amazing!!!
Amazing food, would recommend the poulet marine and the baklava.
Great food and friendly service. Will be back
Hadnt visited this restaurant for several years because we dont live locally, its still serving up good Maghrebian food at really affordable prices. The couscous royale and the lamb tagine were very tasty. The restaurant was extremely busy but the staff were friendly, professional and efficient. It was very good to see that the restaurant is still flourishing and doing what it does so well. No alcohol licence now though!
Delicious authentic food, great atmosphere and lovely service!
Visited this restaurant as was out for work in Cambridge. Honestly such an amazing experience, food was top notch.. the owner of the restaurant went above & beyond. THANKYOU GUYS. A TRUE HIDDEN GEM
I love eating here, the menu is really delicious. The waiter was also very friendly. The place is easy to find in a row of restaurants.
The portions were incredibly small and I thought it was overpriced.
Slightly amended taste for Turkish food but was delightful
I really enjoyed the food there. It was quite cosy and would be a good hangout spot for a couple or a family. Meat was well seasoned and cooked to taste
A very delicious Algerian restaurant It carries the flavors of the Maghreb Advance reservations are required to avoid crowding and waiting time The casseroles are delicious and so are the grills
First time in this restaurant, food delicious and fresh. Dietary restrictions: As a coeliac, they even cater for a gluten free diet. Amazing, just amazing. Food : 5/5 |
Went today at 14.35 and was told they were closing and we went somewhere else and they were still open on our return at 16.45. Sitting around doing nothing. Guess they preferred to sit on theor phones instead of having 4 customers
Very bad service waited 1hr+ for food and they tried to charge us for another tables food
Cosy place with great service!
Nice ambiance, good food although a little overpriced for what you get
tight seating, long waiting time and overpriced
Great food and a unique atmosphere. Will look to visit again in the future.
What a lovely dinner I had! I have not been to Al Casbah for a while and ended up going there last night with two friends as our original restaurant of choice for our catch up was closed. I have to say, best choice ever! The food was really good - the mixed meze was AMAZING! - and it all felt very fresh, the atmosphere was great and the staff made everything to make us feel welcome. We spent two hours chatting after finishing our meals and we were not rushed out, but offered an extra pot of mint tea instead! Great touch. Looking forward to going again!
Delicious food and cosy evening atmosphere, all meat is halal and no alcohol served
Lovely food, the mixed grill was very nice although a little pricey.
Good food but not many vegetarian options for the main plate.
Loved it. Four vegetarian and GF starters between two for quick lunch on Saturday. Refreshing lemon and mint drinks and only £20 each Dietary restrictions: Staff knowledgeable about dietary differences and happy to guide choices or make adjustments.
Very good food. The mint tea is amazing! The mixed grill platter was very tasty and I got Mhalabi for dessert, it was very nice as well.
Tasty food and friendly service!
Really lovely spot.
I ve been three times now to this restaurant and still can t get enough. The food is beyond delicious (I especially recommend any of the tagines and the baklava), the decor is very beautiful and the service is perfect. Book in advance - it s busy for a very good reason!
We were a group of 5, one child included. We had 4 different dishes and a shared platter. Food was excellent. The tea is lovely. We also had baklava with ice cream and the fig tart... Which was amazing! I love figs, grew when I was a child and ate lots of dishes. This tart was incredible, right level of sweetness/sugar and the pastry was fresh not to hard and not soggy. That was my favorite bit to be honest. (Apart from the chicken with white sauce forgot the name of the dish, this wasnt very well cooked moisture chicken leg hard meat) the dishes were lovely, the chicken Tagine is a must have I had it with couscous and it was very tasty and the meat was very well cooked, with lots of green olives, amazing. I definitely recommend this place, we went during the Xmas market and the experience there was very pleasant. They even help us to cut some string for the child sitting with us who was making bracelets, that helped us to keep her busy during our meal! Vegetarian options: A couple of vegetarian dishes available Kid-friendliness: We went with a 8 year old who más making friendship bracelets at the table, they even helped us to come some of the string for her bracelet because we didnt have scissors :) Very kind of the staff to help keep her entertained!
25+ years doing what the family run business do best, no other restaurant on mill road and in the surrounding area even comes close - often imitated never duplicated.
Best lamb tagine I have ever had!!!! Mixed meze and mixed grill was also delicious! I am already looking forward to going back!
The food, as always, very delicious, abundant and at a normal price. We are customers and we recommend it 100%!
I will visit again when. Super.
all good, no alcohol
Lovely tasty, clean and fresh food. Chef is extremely talented. He is just a sweetheart. Made lovely sauces in house. Just brilliant! Lovely conversationalist.
Great authentic looking Algerian restaurant. Lovely food, great service!! Just one thing though, this is a dry restaurant, so dont expect to have alcohol with your food (although they do a range of alcohol free beer and wine).
Absolutely excellent experience. The decor of the restaurant is lovely and the staff is very friendly. I really enjoyed the hummus and the cous cous royal. I Will be back.
Waitress was amazing! Food was incredible, really good portion sizes and tasted amazing! Lovely atmosphere, would definitely go back Food
First time at this restaurant. The food was delicious. Service we received from Mujtaba was excellent.Highly recommended!!!
Poor customer service. very average food. small portions.
Delicious food, friendly staff and busy vibe.
Nice restaurant, the dinner was delicious. I especially enjoyed the shared mixed starters. Note that they dont serve alcoholic drinks.
The quality is fine, the food is almost as the same as KAN ZAMAN restaurant (which is at the same street) but prices are cheaper than AL CASBAH , and the tables are too small, there wasnt enough space for me to put my bag or phone or even my keys on the table when food was served. There was a waiter ,who was so polite.
So damn good!!!! Baba ghanoush, hummus, lamb, chicken, pitta, all dips - everything was delicious
Great atmosphere.Good food and friendly service. Vegetarian options: Huge selection of vegetarian dishes. Food : 5/5 |
Shame to refuse a family of 4 ....
Had to wait 2 hours for delivery. Food portions were small, lots of yoghurt, tasteless black olives, no rice. £70 for a very disappointing meal. Never again
Dishonest restaurant!! How reliable are restaurants when they say their vegan options are vegan? I asked for the vegan options when I came here a few weeks ago, and had the hummus with bread. Noticed the bread having a strong meat smell and saw that it was being toasted on the same grill as the meat. Asked the waiter and he said, well, the juices from the meat drip down so it doesnt really combine with the bread so it is vegan! Do not go here if you are vegan or, actually, anyone who expects restaurants to be honest about their food! I wonder what they would say to someone with allergies! A lot of places seem to have just added on vegan options as a marketing gimmick but dont actually seem to be genuine. Very disappointing and disingenuous. Vegetarian options: DO NOT TRUST THEM when they say its vegetarian! Dietary restrictions: Be very careful, they gave me food that they claimed was vegan but which was not.
Great service, atmosphere & delicious food. I wont doubt to bring friends & family over again to enjoy Algerian cuisine.
The food was delicious, but not enough space (table very small).
Booked here when we couldn t get a table at our usual Bedouin, and loved it!!! Fun fact; it s apparently owned by the brother of the owner of Bedouin. We loved the grill, especially the cod was delicious. Also the rice that came with the mains was really tasty. Only managed to take one photo of the food as I was too busy stuffing my face The service was also great and the waitress was really helpful with the allergies of one of our group.
Ok food, a little overdone with spices and kebabs were a touch dry. Although for a cold, wet day, the hot tagine were just the right prescription.
excellent food with reasonable price. Mostly halal.
The mutton was well cooked, the mint tea was delicious, and the dishes were a bit salty.
Food was really authentic Algerian, and the atmosphere was completely different from the modern restaurant which we loved ....
Average food at more expensive prices than London, with portion sizes on the smaller side. Service was slow and tables too tightly packed together.
Delicious food - really amazing. Loved everything - tabouleh, hummus, lebneh, pita - all yum.
My husband and i were so happy with this hidden gem in cambridge. Not far from Cambridge mosque. They serve Halal food and have no alcohol. We were blown away by the food! The food tasted very authentic and had amazing flavours. For starters we had bourek and stuffed vine leaves. For mains we had mixed sheesh and the chicken tagine. I m personally not a fan of Tagines but this was by far one of the best tagines i ve ever had. Price wise, they were very reasonable. The service was amazing. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I don t often write reviews for restaurants. But we enjoyed the food here so much so i knew i had to share my review. We look forward to coming back again.
So good for the price!
Delicious food and great service. Never disappointed, a hidden gem in Cambridge.
Great food, all fresh. A bit of a wait for food but busy during late lunch. Very accomodating. Recommending!
Lovely little restaurant with a reasonable variety of North African dishes. We went during Ramadan most recently and started with shorba freeka which should be on the menu permanently in my opinion! The couscous royale was really flavoursome and we generally enjoyed everything we tried. Very friendly staff too and we look forward to our next visit.
This place is interesting, entertaining and serves up some excellent food. The cauliflower steak is absolutely amazing. Im not sure what went in it, but it tastes fabulous. Vegetarian options: Try the Cauliflower steak
Had the yummiest birthday dinner! Will definitely go back!
Very poor. Service incredibly slow (my elderly mother in law virtually collapsed waiting) despite the fact that the room had no new diners in when our party of 7 arrived. Others who arrived later were also served well before us. Waiter got the order wrong. Food indifferent too. Mine was reasonably well cooked chicken from the indoor barbecue, but was cold. Others preferred theirs, which appeared to be generic chickpea stew with small variations. Starter was 3 fairly modest sized shell on prawns, barbecued so they couldn t easily be peeled, for £6 To be fair, they claimed to be short staffed and it got busier while we were there (for 2 and a half hours) and they did give us one free round of drinks. They also apologised, which was good of them. I love eating out and usually enjoy it, but this was poor. The worst meal out I ve had in ages and expensive for what it was
Great place. Love sitting at the front window watching the world go by with the charcoal grill behind. Food is seriously good which could explain why I am a regular here.
Really delicious meal - cooked to perfection. And for desert - the best baklava I ve found in Cambridge! Lovely friendly staff. All in all a great night out at Al Casbah
Lovely authentic food with meat cooked over a charcoal BBQ
Just had a lovely meal sitting up at the front window watching the works go by! We shared a mezze plate for 2 and then shared the mix grill - all delicious and friendly staff. Also the lemon and mint juice was delicious and refreshing after a 29degree day!
Excellent North African food with fresh ingredients, kind service and authentic decor
Amazing food, very good size portions. Everything we tried was delicious. Want to go back and try more dishes.
Food was quite good. Flavors and tastes were close yo the real cuisine... would have liked more tender meat. Service was not great at all... I almost got elbowed two by the waiters, they did not wait for us to finish our starters to drop the plates, taking away our good. Venue is nice and atmosphere is alright... but noisy towards the back
Nice friendly staff. Charcoal grill in the front room adds some atmosphere. All the food we had was fantastic - especially the tagine
Excellent food. We had the mixed grill, and the lamb tagine. And the dolma. The food is delectable, the grilling is perfect and the tagine lamb melts in your mouth. The lemonade and mint juice is excellent. The service is very good as well. Vegetarian options: Quite a few vegetarian options.
Amazing service and very nice atmosphere and amazing people.
We happened upon this restaurant by accident and are soo happy to have been able to dine there! The food is full of flavor and the service is quite good. Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a break from the British pub scene
Excellent food, well worth a visit
We were welcomed as we arrived and taken to the table we had booked for six but reduced to five when one of our party had to drop out at the last minute . The service was first rate: attentive but not obtrusive and with excellent advice. The food was freshly prepared, the grilled dishes cooked in full view. The spices were subtle which allowed the natural flavour of the ingredients to come through. We were very happy to be alcohol free in such a welcoming and relaxed environment.
Interesting place where your main dish is cooked on an open grill visible to customers. Food is very nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. No alcohol but thats a minor thing. Worth a visit if you are in the mood for something a little different.
Really bad service. I had to wait for more than 1 h for my order to be delivered and called more than 4 times to hear just excuses and lies. Will avoid from now.
Everything was amazing food was delicious service was amazing everyone was Friendly, the only thing that upset me was the way the boss or manger shouting at lady s And it wasn t busy if it was I understand And people could hear it aswell is not nice next time take them to side
I love love love Al Casbah. I used to live near Mill Road, and this place is a favourite. I love the freshly prepared/grilled meals. Their mixed grill platter is a must.
Great meal and good keep it light service despite how busy it was, it is a skill many should learn.
Portions r a bit small for the price, but the food is really good
Really nice food and a great atmosphere. Visited on the weekend and would recommend booking a table.
The food was delicious but it was very hot inside, and despite having made and sent a pre-order well in advance, they didnt have everything previously ordered, so one person didnt eat. They also charge an additional 10% service charge.
I adore
Yacine the owner runs a great restaurant. My favourite place in Cambridge.
excellent as always!
Very delicious food with amazing service by Zenab
delicious food, warm atmosphere and waitress called zhea was extremely delightful and helpful in her service.
food was stunning, great atmosphere, waitress zhea was so helpful throughout our stay and made sure we were satisfied with our meal, amazing service zhea! would come back again!
Food quality is amazing I was really impressed with the quality of the lamb Everything tastes very authentic Atmosphere is great I have been here twice and i recommend it! Not to expensive, perfect for date night, meal with friends, or a lovely lunch/ dinner.
Had a lovely lunch at Al Casbah, delicious flavoursome food, fast and attentive service, beautiful restaurant. What s not to like! We had the mezze starter and lamb shank tagine with a few sides and finished with mint tea and baklava. The baklava was especially nice and worth a mention as it s not easy to find fresh and tasty baklava. Highly recommended restaurant.
Great, atmospheric place with excellent food
Great food but some waiters are a little grumpy. Some are brilliant.
Delicious Algerian cuisine - Al Casbah and Bedouin (owned by the same family) are one of my favourite restaurants in Cambridge
Ive eaten here a few times. The atmosphere was pleasant enough back then but the food is usually underseasoned. More upsettingly, I walked past today and saw posters in the window calling for intifada. I dont understand how a restaurant can associate themselves with terrorism and suicide bombings.
Underwhelming food coupled with poor service. Decor is nice. You walk past a flaming charcoal grill as you enter the restaurant but get served a mixed grill that tastes like its done 2 mins in the microwave. Staff serving us were entitled and moody in most interactions.
Very flavorsome and well cooked meat with an authentic and varied menu. The atmosphere lacks a little compared to Bedouin but it is still a fine choice from the many worthy options on Mill road and I think up there with the best.
Great little place, though very tiny. Only criticism was that mint tea needs rather more mint than one small leaf!
Food was delicious, we had our 18 week old baby with us who was grumpy. Staff moved seating to fit our pram in. During the mains one of the waitresses kindly held our baby while we finished our food. Lovely staff, highly recommended
Really tasty lamb and fish, great service too :-)
As an Algerian its pleasure to have restaurant in this standard in the uk definitely worth it to come all the way from London. Thanks guys see you again
We were here twice and were always very satisfied. The food was always very good and we always felt very comfortable. Would eat here again and again.
Delicious barbecue. I came here with a friend from the Middle East. She said it was very authentic and recommended!
Very good grill restaurant. Quality service, generous portions, pleasant atmosphere
Just great everything
Cosy, friendly and delicious food! Parking: Paid parking 1 min walk away Food : 5/5 |
Ordered the Mixed Grill and Shakshouka starter, both tasted phenomenonal!
Fantastic restaurant. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Lovely decor and setting. We were a large group and they were so accommodating. The food is as fresh and delicious. Portions were generous. We ll definitely be going back. Highly recommended.
Delicious food and great service. Highly recommend!
Delicious!
Tasty food and a great atmosphere. Brilliant service.
Dietary restrictions: We asked for halal foods which are very much available in it!
Food too expensive Very small space Rude waitress as she slammed the teapot on our table. but waiters were OK, although very busy and never ask if we needed anything. Food tasted food. There was a high chair for my 8 month old. I liked the fact there was an open grill and clay oven for fresh bread. But that took up the majority of the restaurant inside . Toilets were clean Mint tea had 2 small leaves of mint and none in the teapot like the traditional morrocan mint tea which has a handful. Wheelchair accessibility: No space got wheelchair. The tables are very cramped. I had to put my pushchair at the front of the restaurant behind a table which was occupied
Superb food, great service. Rather small venue, but worth trying. Lemon and mint lemonade is amazing, and so is the hummus and all main dishes. Vegetarian options: Available and delicious Parking: No parking available Kid-friendliness: Due to venues size I would suggest not to take toddlers.
shockingly bad service & attitude! Currently been sat here for 30 minutes totally being ignored, even after asking for a menu ... A new experience in this day and age when I thought businesses were trying to make money. To update this this review dont you know when I went to tell them about this they just interrupted me and told me thats OK and have a nice day (from the nonchalant guy behind the bar) evidently you dont need the continued custom? I also think there was a hint of involved as well... Lets face it, do you really want to risk it? If I could give a zero I would
Been some years since I was last at Al Casbah. The food is as good as I remember it, delicious! Service lovely and nice decor and ambience. Wont leave it as long before next visit.
Loved the food. Everything was tasty and healthy.
Really great food! The staff there are excellent too! Definitely recommended!
I love everything - delicious food, fast & attentive service, authentic atmosphere, and good portions & price! I would love to go back without any hesitation.
Went there with some friends yesterday and it was so tasty!! A great thanks
Tasty food and warm service.
The food here is very comforting, and so is the sitting area. A word of advice, if you are going in a group, each person should think of ordering something different, just because the art of sharing food around the table in this place is just pure joy. Enjoy your meal!
Very good Well worth it
Lovely food, lovely environment. Friendly and fast service. Will come again.
Ive been to this restaurant several times over the years and it never disappoints. The meat is fresh and tender, The ambience is very Bedouin feeling and all the North African dishes are cooked exquisitely.
Excellent N African food at vert reasonable prices. The service was friendly and petty quick considering the restaurant was full. The atmosphere has a real buzz about it. Definitely to be recommended. Food : 5/5 |
Wonderful smells coming from the fantastic food...Non Alcoholic Est, but great North African food
Bit noisy, but food was great
Nice restaurant with very tasty food from the charcoal grill. I had a chicken kebab with rice that was beautiful. No alcohol but the home made lemon and mint drink was much better than the non-alcoholic beer
Delicious food Friendly atmosphere Great service Kid-friendliness: Grandkids loved it
Have had two excellent meals here. The food is so tasty I will certainly be back again soon
Unfortunately tasteless :( disgusting over priced!
My second visit and time has been fantastic! A courteous, friendly team providing freshly cooked, perfect combinations of delicious palate bursting recipes!! Family friendly atmosphere and reasonably priced too. The manager in particular went out of his way and gave us baklava and peppermint tea to complete our splendid meal! Will definitely be making this a regular hot spot to fill those cold evenings with comfort food!! Ruby and Rhea
Ive had a really nice lunch of kafta, butek, and home-made lemoade with mint.
The best Algerian restaurant in the UK, %100 i ll come back.
I was pleasantly surprised by the lamb shank tagine. It was flavourful and nicely spiced. Service is. The place can feel a little too noisy and congested on busy evenings. Worth a try, IMO.
Al Casbah is a beautiful place to eat, warm and friendly. The food is exceptional, a real taste of North Africa, and the service is 10/10 too. The beautiful shop front adds a great aspect to the restaurant as you can eat and watch the world go by, or in the summer you can sit opposite your dining partner when the sliding windows are open. Would highly highly recommend.
