98-100 Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 2BD, United Kingdom
Relaxed dining on traditional North African cuisine in tent-like space with carved wooden furniture.
Truly fantastic meal. Great atmosphere, great service and even better food. Genuinely probably the best meal I've had in months. Really fantastic. Can't believe I lived in Cambridge for so many years and never went. Can't wait to go again!
The hummus with lamb tips was absolutely delightful – we were tempted to order another but decided to save room for the mains. The Tajine was exceptional, with such a rich and savoury sauce that we couldn't resist ordering extra flatbread to soak up every last bit. The meal ended on a high note with the caramelised fig tart, which was the perfect sweet finish and had a lamb meatballs takeaway. Highly recommend making a reservation in advance!
This place totally lives up to its hype! Glad I followed the recommendations online and dined here. The food was super delicious and in large portions. It has a bedouin tent decor; and water and meals are served in traditional pottery, which makes up a cool ambiance. I had lamb liver for starters, lamb kofte for main meal, and the sunset djanet cocktail. Service was also great, I was waited by Yasin and Amanda who were both amazing. I understand prices are normal for Cambridge but totally a bargain compared to London given the quality!! Starters and cocktails around £7 and all mains around £15-£20. Also, they keep a halal kitchen and all coctails are non-alcoholic, which helps if you have Muslim dietary restrictions. (I could finally eat meat outside, hooray.) Overall, this place made my day, totally recommended. Definitely MAKE A RESERVATION in advance, I showed up without one and although it was Monday night they were fully booked. Luckily I was there early and they could accommodate me. As I was leaving, the place was full!
The staff are amazing. So friendly. The restaurant has beautiful decor. The menu is extensive and caters for vegetarians. The portions are generous. Food arrives piping hot and is beautifully presented. Thank for for such a lovely dining experience.
Delicious Mediterranean food! I love the veggie couscous dish, it's so fresh and full of flavor. The service is wonderful and it's a lot of fun to finish off the meal relaxing on the pillows with a good cup of tea:)
It was our first time trying North African cuisine, and it was absolutely delicious. The generous portions left us fully satisfied, and the warm, inviting atmosphere made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!
It was so difficult to pick one dish because everything sounded amazing! The food was incredibly tasty and the perfect portion size. The decor is very interesting and blends really well with the food which overall creates a really nice experience. Will definitely come back!
The meals here are generous and tasty. Could have shared a tagine between 2 easily. Mint tea was lovely. No alcohol does not subtract from the atmosphere I think it makes it more authentic
Great service and food is amazing and a cozy atmosphere value for money, deffo will visit again Dietary restrictions: Very honest and explained of all allergy ingredients
We recently had an amazing lunch at Bedouin with family and friends, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The flavours of the dishes were exceptional rich, authentic, and beautifully spiced, with something to please everyone at the table. The tagines were especially delightful, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The decor is stunning, capturing the essence of North Africa, and the soft background traditional music added to the wonderful ambiance (we end up asking for the playlist). It s clear the team puts a lot of care into every detail, and it made for a perfect evening. We will definitely be back soon! Highly recommended if you re in Cambridge.
What an experience. The experience starts from the door and as you walk in you feel that you were transported to an authentic tent, very nice atmosphere. The food was just brilliant absolutely delicious and fast service with good portions. Our host Abdallah was really great! Highly recommended restaurant!
Nice staff. Nice food!
On a date and this place was Awesome. No alcohol served ( plenty of warning before you book) and the food was fantastic. Food
Amazing tasty authentic food, great setting huge portions and brilliant drink selection Parking: Parking for short stay just around the corner
Food is good, and the overall presentation of the restaurant is great. Main issue is that the service is pretty slow as there s a lot of covers, and the seats are really quite uncomfortable which makes the wait for food feel even longer. We may have had bad luck, but our table was located right between the split in the cushions on the bench seat, and the cushion in my chair was pretty much perished. The low height of the tables is fine in itself, but does magnify any issues with the seats. So overall fine, but i would recommend they give all the seats a refurb sooner rather than later.
The most tender lamb shank I have ever had.
Highly recommend Bedouin, service was efficient and genuine. Food authentic and captured the subtle North African flavours using traditional cookery methods and ingredients. Menu was just right, varied enough to provide lots of options but not confusing. Desserts delicious, the fig tart was a standout. Overall very tasty and welcoming unique dining experience not to be missed. Thank you for looking after us.
We are visiting Cambridge from London, this restaurant is phenomenal. The decor is perfect and the food was outstanding. We arrived around 5pm without a reservation and they very kindly accommodated us. Thank you for a fantastic meal!
Excellent Algerian food. I recommend the DJEDJ MHAMER. Portions are large but you can share main meals. No alcohol.
Food was delicious and so satiating. Staff were also very friendly especially with dietary requirements. Would definitely go back if I lived nearby.
Some of the best food I ve ever had. The service was also really good and the restaurant had a nice calm ambiance.
Very nice place, good vibes and great service..
Northern African amazing food. Great variety and incredible atmosphere 100% recommended
Tagine beldi is super delicious.
Nearly as good as Zi s peri peri (down the road).
This place is by far, the best restaurant me and my husband have been to in a while. Stunning establishment, lovely staff.. quick service but obviously the food was outstanding! Would absolutely go again!
Wow, absolutely great. Service, food and atmosphere all fantastic. Please book in advance, very busy
Absolutely amazing, one of the best restaurants in Cambridge! The food was so so good and the staff are so friendly and accommodating! I would recommend bedouin to everyone
Nice ambience and food.
Amazing service, but the food is the star of the show. We loved the Hanouinette, hummus with lamb, and chicken parcels. The tagines are heavenly and the desserts are irresistible, even after having eaten too much! Beautiful and cosy restaurant, fantastic atmosphere, staff who really seem to love their jobs. I m lucky we live close by !
Excellent food, excellent service.
Awesome African food Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Food : 5/5 |
Thoroughly enjoyed an early dinner at this popular Algerian restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful, priced about right and cheerfully served.
Superb! Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian, Vegan and Celiac options Food : 5/5 |
Me and my friend had a fantastic meal in Bedouin. Very good service, lovely decoration, great atmosphere. The food was delicious. Ive been before and had the hoummus which is also delicious. The green beans are delicious so I would highly recommend any dish with them on. We didnt try the tagine as Im not a fan, but others were having it and looked happy. They also have mocktails which looked amazing, maybe one for next time. Thank you Bedouin!
This is the place youre looking for. Delicious food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Perfect from start to finish. We started with the feta/spinach starter, then had the lamb shank tagine with couscous and the roast chicken with rice. Looking forward to coming back in the future to try more dishes! The type of place when youre hoping itll be nice and then they deliver on all fronts.
Such a lovely little restaurant (make sure to book). The restaurant was a little gem, and the staff were really welcoming, kind, and attentive. Ordered a couple of tagines, and they were amazing. Love everything about this place. Thank you so so much for a lovely evening.
Nice decor and delicious food.
It is an experience visiting this place , great ambience you could feel like you were in Africa apart from seeing the buses etc go past on Mill Road. Enjoyed the meal . Generous portions.
Weve eaten here several times and it honestly is one of the best meals out Ive ever had. Last night we bought a couple of friends who live locally but have never been before, the wait staff were SO HELPFUL in finding us a table (I would always always recommend booking though a couple of days in advance, especially on a Saturday night, we just got Really lucky!) and our friends cant stop raving about the food. We tend to have Hummus Belaham and Bastille Dejej (a pleasant sweet/savoury surprise) to start and a tagine for main- my particular favourite is the beef which is always a huge, flavourful portion with a generous serving of meat. We travel into Cambridge often and will always try to eat here when we can, its very reasonably priced and genuinely delicious food with great service in a gorgeous setting...what more could you ask for?!
What a great place this is, delicious food, great environment. Cant fault it really.
Seevice not good Food is not spicy at all... I ordered chicken and 1 lamb dish Not up to the mark... Service is poor
A little gem tucked away on Mill Road. Wonderful decor and ambience, always popular with locals and visitors alike. Delicious dishes and a unique ambience. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Never feels like an apology or an after-thought at Bedouin.
Brilliant good food and Halal too. Parking: Small parking lot, almost full on a Sunday afternoon Food : 5/5 |
Booked an early evening slot the day before. Was well aware that it did not serve alcohol and it was not BYO. The food was absolutely lovely. We had the Large Kemiette with an extra brick pastries. These were a selection of dips with some pitta breads which all tasted lovely. The Brik pastries with feta and spinach in were very good and the Brik pastries with chicken in was a little different as it had sugar in top but the combination worked well and it was a real highlight. This starter was large for two people, so take note. Im quite a big eater and was already a little full before the main came out. I chose the Tagine Kefte Bedaoui- lamb meatballs in a tomato sauce with cheese on top and an egg. It was absolutely lovely. Incredibly hot and it was a large portion of four large meatballs served with warm flatbreads. Id over indulged on the starter and could not get near finishing it. I took the rest home for the following day and it tasted as good as I remember. The lamb meatballs were beautifully seasoned with various herbs and spices and tender and the tomato sauce they were in was rich and thick and worked perfectly in my opinion. Dont think of this as an Italian style meatballs in tomato sauce, it was very different but worked so well. The staff were polite and prompt, exactly as you would want. I would thoroughly recommend and am hoping to go back soon.
The food and drinks were incredible. Would 100% go back here again. The staff were also very lovely!
Beautiful food. Beautiful setting.
Amazing food
Great atmosphere with good food. Generous portions!
Nice food, good value for money.
Perfect place! Tasty food, very kind staff, and it feels like being in Algeria with traditional music! 1, 2, 3, Viva lAlgérie!
The ambience of this restaurant is only topped by the quality of the food that is made here. The lamb tagine with cous cous and the Achet Khodar (Pastry Will with vegetables and feta cheese) were absolutely phenomenal! I will absolutely be coming back here again!
A very fine place to eat. Food was great. Kemiette and lamb. I will come back!
Food was amazing and came out fast. Large portion sizes and atmosphere was delightful. Will be visiting again soon!
It was a great experience from the food to the service. Big shout out to Jamal for his heart warming welcoming and his special desserts that he made for us. 10/10
Extremely delicious and authentic. Tagine portions are quite large. I also recommend Date, Walnut and Banana Milkshake.
One of our favourite places to eat in Cambridge. The food is amazing and we often visit. Ive tried most of the meat dishes on the menu and the Lamb shank tagine is my favourite. The starters of hummus with lamb and shakshuka are also my go to. You always get plenty of bread for dipping, the portion sizes of the meals are huge and you wont leave feeling hungry. The restaurant has a Moroccan feel with the walls and ceilings covered in Arabic art. The seats are slightly uncomfortable and quite close together but that wasnt an issue for us. I would highly recommend a visit :)
Great experience and food was hot and tasty. Good size portions at sensible prices.
Amazing place both me and my friend loved our meal there and when back in Cambridge will definitely eat there again.
The tagine berkook is to die for - warm, comforting and flavourful. The hummus starter was wonderful too.
Lamb Tajin
The lamb shank tagine is very good but the beef tagine is amazing! Overall a great restaurant with an atmosphere to match
The food was DELICIOUS and the staff were very friendly especially Yazan. Highly recommended.
Great food nice atmosphere place recommend
Every part of this meal was divine! The starter selection was tasty, the tajine was great, the drinks were marvellous. Just a great place to have a meal!
My partner left a review already, but weve been here twice in two days because its so good :)
Loved this place. Came across it accidentally as I was looking for Halal food in Cambridge. Had the Lamb Tagine and the meat was so tender and the whole meal flavoursome. The 77 drink was also unique and refreshing. The decor is creative and beautiful. Service was also very good and efficient. Would definitely return if I find myself in Cambridge again.
We had delicious food & Really recommendable food, great service from all staff
Fantastic food, wow. Came here as a group of four vegetarians and we all thought the food here was phenomenal. We had been meaning to come here for the past few years since we moved to Cambridge and the food did not disappoint one bit! Bravo!
Delicious food!
The restaurant recommended by a colleague, I personally think it is the best and delicious meal I have ever had in Cambridge. It is really worth coming here to try. Remember to leave more time to enjoy the atmosphere of the meal.
Busy and despite being alcohol free absolutely wonderful food
Great Algerian restaurant, tasty food at affordable price.
Always such a great vibe and great food. Best to book a table as its always busy. Parking: Free after 6pm at gwydir street car park. Or 90p per 30mins before 6pm.
This is the worst meal Ive had in Cambridge & one of the most hyped restaurant. I am convinced people in Cambridge either lost their sense of taste or just havent eaten this type of cuisine before. Drinks - asked for a cocktail recommendation , got recommended some pineapple drink - said okay Ill trust the waiters recommendation - ended up not being a cocktail at all - it was some kind of juice (I like pineapple in cocktails but not on its own) so it was rly revolting . When I said I was expecting a cocktail, there was no apology or an offer to change it. I took 1 sip and didnt drink anything. Had to ask for tap water. Food- the aubergine with chilli starter was horrific . Genuinely, no flavour , undercooked and bland. The tagine I got was a fair portion but it was extremely salty and the meat tasted like rubber. The couscous was the worse couscous Ive ever eaten. I was struggling to eat my food. This place is extremely bad for anyone who has eaten this cuisine before and Im glad they found a place in Cambridge because in any major city in England - this place will get trounced by competition First time in England Ive had to voluntarily brave the courage to say I dont want to pay the discretionary service charge. Usually I do so out of basic courtesy , but this time I just couldnt . £31 for that awful dinner & service.
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere for dinner with friends. Very busy so definitely try to book in advance! Lamb tagine was very yummy with lots of meat.
This is a very popular joint and it s popular for a good reason. The Tajines are exceptionally good but really in general everything I ve tried here is made to perfection I would recommend booking if you can, as the place is popular
Really nice place! Food was divine and portions were huge. We did struggle to finish one starter and one main per person. Service was also great aside from a server that maybe didnt have much experience but was kind of let on her own. Definitely going back.
Great experience at Bedouin! The food was delicious, amazing drinks and great service!
Simply the best this is my absolute fav. Whenever I m in Cambridge I do not leave without paying Bedouin a visit. The Tagine Zeytoon and the Salata Beljoubna is sooooooooooooo good
The food was amazing but the service was very poor. When we ordered there was only 2 other tables. Ordered the RAYESH MECHAOUI x2. It took 45 minutes! too come. Really unhappy. And plus theres not many lights in the place and none in the toilet.
We ordered the lamb chops witch contained 4xlamb chops and a small serving of fries the food overall was delicious a 9/11 but we ended up ordering 3 of those and it ended up taking about 45mins the food ended up really expensive overall we ordered 5 drinks the cocktails were really good we also ordered some king prawns as an starter witch was really good as well but it ended up coming g to about £92 but because of delay they charged us £86 the lights are very dim and the bathroom was very small from the prices of the food they should be able to afford lights as they were packed the tap barely worked and the toilet is very small
Recommended by a friend and l must say it ticked the boxes! You should visit too
A great restaurant in Cambridge that is highly recommended
We visited Cambridge and came across this lovely restaurant. Nice decor, delicious food and excellent service. It was very busy but they kindly accommodated without a booking as we went early. Food came out quickly. Tagines tasty and good portions. Free car park nearby after 6pm.
Unbelievable dining experience! We went as a group of four and ended up staying in there for hours, the atmosphere was so inviting and we forgot the time! We ordered a selection of 4 tagines. The portions were very generous and the authenticity was on point considering we just got back from Morocco last week! Finished the meal of with some Arabic coffee and mint tea. As Cambridge residents weve always heard of this restaurant and finally ventured into the amazing place. P.S. the decor is beautiful.
Delicious food, a really neat ambiance you feel like you re in a tent in the desert. The staff are very kind and helpful
Amazing food and atmosphere. Dishes you cant find in many other places.
wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food! great, very kind service
Really great food, efficient service, cosy place. Highly recommended! Food
Magical, endearing place, great food, decoration, music... They make you move to another place
Really enjoyed our visit. Welcoming, attentive staff, great vibe and fantastic food. Recommended. Parking: Theres a car park nearby
Food was nice enough but we shouldnt have waited an hour for it. Some acknowledgment that the kitchen had messed up would have been appreciated (the table next door ordered the same dishes at the same time and received theirs 30 minutes before we did).
I really wanted to like this place as the atmosphere was really good and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, service was not good enough. Lots of waiting without being looked after. They should find a solution to manage the service!
Nice decor, amazing food and great staff
We loved it! The food, the atmosphere and the staff were amazing
Very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. Something different. The pudding cocktails very nice too
Bedouin is a great experience to suit all occasions - make sure you book, it s very popular. We ve had casual dinners there but also recently chose this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Such a wonderful, cosy and lively atmosphere. Service is always welcoming and friendly. I m slowly making my way through all the tagines on the menu as I need to try them all. Don t miss the grilled aubergine with tahini dressing (Betenjal Bel Tahina) from the starters menu. Also the oven roasted chicken dishes are excellent and their couscous is light and fluffy. They have a great Non ABV Cocktails menu - highly recommend the 77.
Really nicefood and staff Id go here again Food : 4/5
Amazing decor in this cosy restaurant with friendly service and tasty food - brilliant vegan options & great mint tea! Very generous portions and lovely flavours.
I ordered a dish that i thought was overcooked, so they explained that this is the way the dish will be served. I could choose another dish and they taked the first one back, without charging. All the others dishes where great and the people are very friendly, great service! I feld sorry for sending the dish back, but They told me we just want happy customers
Best North African food I have ever tried. Everything was perfect, we were visitors from Glasgow and we were lucky to visit such a place
Was in Cambridge for a day and decided to have lunch here based on reviews. It did not disappoint. The ambiance and decor is superb and can see the attention to detail down to the water glasses, the way bill is presented and general vibe. Lamb shank tagine was amazing. Bursting with flavour and served very hot Portions are quite big so maybe 1 main course between 2 ppl is more appropriate. The staff is friendly and service is good.
Amazing food and great staff. Truly the best first experience in Cambridge.
The environment was classical and quiet. The behaviour of the staff was very good. Especially Caroline who served us was joyful and smiling all the time. We enjoyed the food as well.
Amazing food and friendly, attentive staff. We cant wait to go back.
Exceptional restaurant! Congratulations to the team
After making the journey from London specifically to dine at this restaurant, we were eager to experience the praised cuisine and ambiance. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a gentleman who appeared to be the manager (Algerian) instantly making us feel welcomed . The cozy atmosphere added to the warmth of the experience. As we embarked on our culinary journey through North Africa, each dish, from the BASTILLA DJEDJ to the CREVETTES MCHERMLA and the BETENJAL BEL TAHINA, was freshly prepared, impeccably seasoned, and utterly delightful. The TAGINE BERKOOK, TAGINE ZAYTOUN, and couscous further impressed with their flavors. Concluding our meal with delectable desserts and refreshing mint tea was the perfect finale. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience, and the journey from London is certainly worthwhile. Massive Well Done Everyone!
We had a wonderful dinner at Bedouin and would highly recommend this restaurant to those in Cambridge as great value alongside a fantastic atmosphere. Perfect for groups or date night! I learned Bedouin are a nomad Arabic tribe from which the restaurant draws its influence with a vibrant interior and tableware to boot setting the scene for a beautiful dinner. For starters we ate the Haniounette and Kemiette. The spicy hummus & tagine bread combination is second to none and this is by far the best North African starter menu Ive seen. The Brik pastries are also sweet and savoury with such a unique and delicious flavour. For main we had Felous Masella and Betenjel Farci. The portions are beyond plentiful, hearty and are of great quality. Ive scored the food as a 4 but think this could easily tip to a 5 with alternative menu choices. The chicken dish just wasnt my perfect taste for this sort of food and chicken cooked slightly over how Id eat it (but much better than pink). I regretted not trying the meatball tagine and think that would transverse this review to a 5 across the board. Definitely perfect location, value for money and experience with beautiful array of teas and mocktails to accompany the meal. We will be back during our next visit to Cambridge.
Great place, great atmosphere, great food.
Love this place, have visited twice now with family. Nice atmosphere and decor. Staff have always been very pleasant and friendly, and the food tastes great! Kid-friendliness: We had our nephew with us who is basically the definition of chaos! The staff were very accommodating and helpful
One of the best restaurants in Cambridge. Everything was perfect from food to vibe to service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available
Amazing place, great food, good service. Nothing else to say. Will come back when visiting Cambridge
Fab food and service
The restaurant is so beautiful, a typique Algerian sahara décoration, the food is delicious, the service is amazing and The atmosphere is the best, they were so nice that they putted our Algerian playlist and they even offer to us two starters, highly recommended, 10/10
I went here for my birthday. We all found the food to be amazing, and reasonably priced. Big thanks to Mahmood for the excellent service. Will definitely be coming here again!
Absolutely delighted with my second visit to Bedouin restaurant! The culinary experience was exceptional, with dishes like Tagine Kefte and Flose Msella showcasing unique and delightful flavors. The Beklava for dessert was the perfect sweet finale. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making it a highly recommended dining spot for anyone seeking North African cuisine excellence. Cant wait for my next visit!
Surprise the decoration that transports you to the desert. The food and the service, excellent
Really busy Thursday evening with a great vibe. Staff were fabulous. Polite, attentive but unobtrusive. Food was really good. I couldnt quite give 5 stars as my vegan main was lacking depth of flavour. Still a lovely experience.
First time at Bedouin and absolutely loved it, the food is delicious with so much flavour. The atmosphere really adds to the experience.
Delicious food, beautiful decor, lovely service.
Simply delicious
Lovely atmosphere, very attentive and friendly staff. Found was delicious wish I had room for dessert.
I used Bedouin as caterer for my birthday. The diner was 3 courses: starter Mezze, main Tajine and dessert baklavas and tea. The food was exquisite, the service was very professional and kind. Overall it created a very warm and friendly atmosphere. My guests are still talking about the fantastic food and for me and my husband it created a wonderful memory.
Great food and wonderful ambiance - we would come back again!
So excited to visit this place again!!! I am quite a foodie and rarely do I get impressed by food when eating out as most places try to cut corners; I also rarely write reviews. This place left me with no complaints and I am so shocked by how tasty the food was. So hearty, homey and full of flavour everything was so so well cooked and had the right combination of texture and flavour - it was just PERFECT! It s also a rarity to see this in the UK but absolutely love the extra effort of bringing some free appetisers and a little sweet menthol candy to end your meal. The portion size was really good too, we had the Kamiette, and two mains to share for two people(a Tajine and Betenjel Farci) + a drink. Ended up paying ~£50 for two, which is reasonable these days, especially for the quality of the food you get. Ah, the atmosphere is very cozy too, you feel like you re abroad. It can be a little tight as they get very busy so you ll likely be siting close to other people but all the rugs surrounding do well to absorb the noise around so it s not too bad. Vegetarian options: Decent number of vegetarian options!
Comfortable, good service and halal food.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. Staff are very welcoming. If you re a fan of North African food, this is the place to go in Cambridge. Highly recommend!
Amazing lamb dishes, great food, good service. If you come here make sure to make reservations 1 day in advance as it gets busy.
Awesome food and staff!!!
Sooooooo delicious. The food was honestly amazing! Me and my partner when silent as we munched away. Both cocktails were delicious too! Id recommend to anyone in the area :) delicious, very reasonably priced considering the portion size, and great atmosphere and staff! Didnt need to wait long for anything and very attentive. :D Vegetarian options: I got the veggie brick pastry, tasted amazing. Its like a vegetarian burrito on steroids, 10/10
Really nice place and special food The staff is very friendly and welcoming Food
Great food! Nice lighting too.
We took a take away, one CHECKCHOUKA and one TAGINE BOUSTAAN. Really really good ! Good price and size for two people. Kind staff over the phone and in person and the place looks nice too! Next time we will certainly eat in :)
Beautiful place. The food is amazing
Amazing food, service, atmosphere, %100 i ll come back Food
Me and my partner go there all the time and it s is very good and the staff are polite the food comes out decent time cannot fault them
Amazing atmosphere. You feel like you are actually in a beduin tent in the desert. The food is very tasty.
An incredible restaurant. Everything is spot on. The manager Djamel is a wonderful host.
Sensational food, great service and superb atmosphere. Took my wife for our first anniversary and it didnt disappoint. Well certainly be back next time we visit the city.
Favourite place for tagine and hummous
Fantastic food & service, a real gem. Well worth a visit. Vegetarian options: There is a good selection of vegetarian options that are extremely tasty, with the option to make them vegan by removing the feta cheese
Breath taking experience, the ambiance takes you to a different world, the food is amazing and the service is great. For how good it is, it is an amazing value for money.
Delicious food impressed food quality. Try classic mint tea.
Came here for our anniversary meal. Ordered starters main and dessert. The mains were lovely and good portions. The service was so so disappointing. The tables are really small and whenever we got a drink and finished it no one bothered to come collect it or even had patients to stop when I asked for them to... Other tables seemed to have around the clock service, clean tables from glasses and checked up on. We were just sitting there for ages between courses being stared at yet ignored. Even when I asked for the bill twice one of the staff said in a minute and walked off just fixing some napkins... Overall food was okay, main is worth it compared to the dessert and drinks which simply werent to our taste. The place looks cozy and lovely, the tables are a bit close together and small so hard to have a chat and properly relax as everything might aswell be one long table. Its worth a visit, and hopefully you get them on a good day where they want to serve and check up on their customers.
I had dinner there recently with someone extremely special to me. I hadnt been there before, and was a little anxious, but I neednt have worried. Magnificent food, service and atmosphere. We had a magical evening. Thank you!
Northern African cuisine. Delicious and well portioned. Decor and music elevate the feel and a atmosphere.
Very tasty dishes, beef tagine is recommended!
Really friendly service, tasty vegan options and unique atmosphere
This is MY kind of dining out, where you feel at home whilst youre eating deliciously prepared and tasty food, with a warm welcome and comfortable homely service. Book early in the evening as this place gets very popular by 8pm!
The food and atmosphere are excellent.
Love Bedouin. Probably my favourite place to eat on Mill Road.
Lovely experience and ambiance.
Amazing sister restaurant to Al Casbah, which also has insanely delicious food. Good service, tagine was great, lamb very tender
The best restaurants in UK you can find the Algérien , Moroccan food and also the staff very nice and quickly and the best think decorations you feel you are in desert I recommend for all people to know our culture
Parking: Gwydir street car park can be a nightmare to exit Food
Brilliant food and service - loved our visit! Thank you so much
One of the best Algerian restaurants around. I always bring friends here when they visit Cambridge. The food and decor are so authentic, and it has such a cosy vibe
What a find! We popped in here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon (we hadnt reserved) and were greeted warmly. We ordered cocktails, starters and tagines for main course and the everything was absolutely delicious and served with a smile. We had a selected of both hot and cold starters served with bread and the tagines came with a choice of bread of couscous. The meat in the tagines was so tender and delicious (we ordered a chicken, lamb shank and lamb meatballs) Sadly we didnt have room for dessert but well definitely go back another time and save space. Highly recommended and worth a trip.
Excellent food, it was very tasty and authentic. Very good portions too. Service was great but a bit slow. Need to book in advance as it can get quite busy
The food was OK but it didnt blow me away, the fries were rather nasty because they tasted like very dirty frying fat. The lamb was good but not very seasoned which was a shame. I didnt like the furnishings, the long bench is special but has definitely seen better days.
Cosy and romantic dinner spot.
First time try North Africa food. I feel like similar with Mediterranean food. Lamb is really soft and tender. The taste is good. For drink mock tails, I don t fancy with it.
Best restaurant for North African food in Cambridge and so far the best restaurant in this historic city. Been here twice in a week time.
We booked a table for 8.30pm, had to wait for a table to be ready and left at 9.55pm. I cant comment on the food, it never appeared. We did get an apology from the waitress when I went to pay for the drinks but no explanation for lack of food. Pizza Hut across the road is good....
EXCEPTIONALLY DISSAPOINTING EXPERIENCE. Id love to say the food is as good as I remember ,but never got as far a eating it! We arrived a few minutes early for an advance booking. The place was rammed and there were no tables free at all. So clearly overbooking goes on here. No room to wait inside ,so forced to stand in the cold until a table came free, with me using a crutch to stand and with an 80-year-old relative. The tables are packed in pretty tight too. It was not easy getting to ours with a crutch, so not exactly accessible. The staff were polite and took our order quickly enough. But then groups who arrived after us were getting their starters and then main courses before we got anything. After waiting a full hour, we cancelled the whole order and left. Not a great birthday for me. After a long conversation the following day, on the phone, where their excuses and timing of events simply didnt match up, they eventually agreed to refund the drinks. Wheelchair accessibility: there isnt any
Delicious Algerian cuisine on offer in Cambridge. Generous portions, friendly staff and excellent service. Highly recommended!
Dined in, lovely vibe!!! And food is INCREDIBLE. Waited a bit but definitely worth it. Both chicken and veggie options were amazing (we shared dishes)
Welcoming staff, tasty dish, the Bedouin confirms its fine reputation. We decided to come and eat following the good reviews and my wife and I were not disappointed! Really great quality dish, hearty and affordable. We will return on our next visit to Cambridge
Loved it! Great atmosphere, great food, great staff!
Excellent on all accounts
This is my second time visiting Bedouin, and I can t wait to go back again! Incredible service from a kind, super knowledgeable staff, and the food was delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. I got the Lamb Tagine Meatballs which were to die for, and my friend got the beef, which was succulent and melt in your mouth. We finished off with the Baklava, which was the perfect sharing dish. You won t find anything remotely comparable in Cambridge.
The tastiest meal Ive had in a while. A change from the norm. Warm welcome, friendly service, authentic style bedoin. I had hummus with lamb and my partner, liver, both were lovely but the show stopper was the main course. I had beef tagine and my partner the meatball dish. We has thought the menu was a bit limited but this restaurant is a great example of do what you do and do it well. Fab, strongly recommend.
Genuinely some of the best food I ve had
Really delicious food which we thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend getting the Kemiette as a starter, lovely mix of flavors. Both the Tangine Beldi and the Djedj MHamer were excellent and deserts were great too. Definitely worth visiting even if North African cuisine isnt your favorite, because I think there will be something on the menu you will enjoy.
Due to COVID and other factors it took us 4 years to finally dine here, well worth the wait. Doesnt disappoint. Book early and keep your reservation
All 5 stars! Really delicious food :) Highly recommended - also great atmosphere. Food : 5/5
