It has been a while since Ive enjoyed an Indian meal this good. Really nice staff. Take own booze is a bonus. Shame it was only partially full, but I think the atmosphere would have been better when full. Nice clean restaurant and toilets. This will be my place to go when in Cambridge.

Total waste, the food is below standard for the price they are charging.Naan was not at all fresh(looks like they got it from supermarket).They charged me Service charge which I politely asked to remove but they denied saying its compulsory.Very low standard food for extremely high prices.

The food was absolutely lovely: especially the Butter Naan. The dry-bar has some excellent cocktails, which paired really well with the food. During our meal, the service was great, but after the plates were cleared we felt slightly overlooked. We would have loved to try the desserts but unfortunately were not offered a menu from which to order any. Will definitely visit again, as the overall experience was still lovely. Would also like to try their takeaway options. Vegetarian options: There is a clear vegetarian regional curries section and other vegetarian options are dotted throughout the menu. They are not clearly labelled but they are definitely there!

Great food for a reasonable price. No alcohol, but an amazing list of mocktails and alcohol free beer and wine. I had 3 mocktails and they were very good. I believe you can bring your own alcohol for a modest corkage.

Service very good only marked down because we asked to have small and big plates together and they wouldn t allow that. Small plates were good, big plates delicious but a lot of sauce and not much meat for the price. No allergens on their menu is a big issue. Very quiet considering but the fact they don t serve alcohol probably explains s that. Dietary restrictions: No allergens on menu

Delicious food and a very nice service. Give it a try when in Cambridge. Vegetarian options: I took a combination of curry, some lentil balls in a nice sauce, with rice and typical Indian bread that I love. Everything, mildly spicy, was incredibly delicious!

Amazing restaurant with a great menu.

We were a large group of around 20 people having dinner. The food was excellent, the service impeccable and everyone agreed that this was a lovely restaurant. The place is spacious and modern with lovely decor. We were served the party menu - a banquet style menu to share. The food was delicious with lots of variety and unusual flavours. BYO alcohol worked well for everyone and the restaurant were very accommodating for a couple of our group with complex diets. Thank you for a great evening!

The high rating is absolutely justified... The food is really authentic... basically no alcohol is served... (Not a bad thing with such a delicious mango lassi.) We were offered to bring our own wine. Some people did that too... And all with very good service...thank you

Absolutely fantastic evening!. A dinner with my friend, we ordered 3 course meal which was delicious, excellent and knowledgeable service, super clean bathrooms and overall pleasant atmosphere. Definitely I recommend to visit - it would be an enjoyable experience.

Doi Murgi was delicious and great to be able to order non-alcoholic wine. Only small criticism is that the Bhoot (fried cauliflower) was too spicy.

Simply the best food and restaurant in Cambridge. 10 out of 10.

We ordered the poppadums with chutney, garlic chilli chicken, and butter chicken, and I honestly cant praise the quality and flavours enough. The garlic chilli chicken was a standout, bursting with spice and depth, while the butter chicken was rich and creamy. The poppadums and chutney made for a perfect start to the meal. Weve tried several dishes here, and our top favourites remain the garlic chilli chicken, the coconut curry, and of course, the poppadums and naan. Highly recommended!

The restaurant were so welcoming of our family and our baby too. Food was delicious and service very friendly and helpful.

Excellent food and friendly service - it s BYOB but they have a wide selection of non-alcoholic cocktails/beers/wines. Some of the hot dishes do run pretty hot, but they have plenty of raita or yogurt if you ask! Availability has always been good, so have had no issue with walk-ins. Music was glitching slightly when we were there last, but otherwise the place is well-presented and very tidy with attentive staff.

We came to this place because reviews were extraordinary, but actually it is an average place. There is nothing special. The food was ok, the service was fine. There is no atmosphere. Do not understand how this place got a 4,9 score on google reviews.

Best service ever received. Highly recommended. We popped in for chai and snacks and were amazed by the kindness of the owner. We had chai, pakoras, samosa chaat, chips and chana chat. The quality of the food was extremely high.

Best customer service and good manager with his dedicated staff, price is a rip off! £18 for a biryani which is not any special and £5 for a bottle water, no more comment because staffs are so good. Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating for our kids. Nice and friendly staff.

We had a wonderful evening at Golpo! The food was amazing and unusual. The aubergine masala just melted in the mouth! Karim was a wonderful host and we really enjoyed finding out more about Bengali cuisine, which is quite different from the usual English-style Indian food. Highly recommended!!

Just had an excellent mutton jalfrezi at Golpo that was both spicy and tasty. Haven t visited before, but will certainly return.

The atmosphere was pleasant and the service fantastic. The staff were certainly amazing. Sadly, the food was disappointing. Quantities were small, the tarka dal was bland and the slow cooked mutton delicious, but at £16.95, had too many bones and insufficient meat. However, I must add that the vegetable poriyal was absolutely delicious. I have been there previously with my 90 year old aunt. They were very considerate and opened the back door for her to have a shorter, step-free walk into the restaurant. They were kind to her and she really enjoyed her evening. I think their hospitality certainly enhances the experience and makes up for some inadequacies.

The food was very well presented and obviously made with care. I had the chicken Dhansak which was very tasty just the chicken was a little firm for my liking. Also had a slightly smokey taste which Im assuming because it may have been cooked with smoked paprika...

Golpo serves tasty and authentic Bengali food! The appetisers are inspired by street food and prepare your palette for the mains - all of them are great. Highly recommend the biryani which was very fragrant and delicious, the meat and veggie curries were all prepared perfectly. The desserts were creative takes on classic sweets like gulab jamun and the floating cheesecake which we really enjoyed! The service and staff are very friendly and helpful! An amazing gastronomic delight. I am of Bangladeshi origin myself so the food has to be pretty special for me. I went with colleagues whos individual needs were tended to. The food was typical and the texture was overall quite dense, but the portion size was limited compared with the prices. The environment was good and clean. The service was too enthusiastic. The ordering process was misleading and unclear, however. The server did not confirm the order with me, and modified it and added dishes without letting me know. Some side dishes that I did not order were served and the flavor was not very great. The issue was reflected but not solved properly, making the experience unsatisfied.

Took a group of us here for my girlfriends birthday - it was an amazing spot. The food was excellent, the atmosphere great and the prices are reasonable - they even gave us a piece cake for her at the end of the evening which was a lovely touch. Will definitely be returning!

Worst food you ll get here . Specially the service is really bad , staff served us food with some object inside and even charged us double for the replacement. never go to this restaurant. Waste of time and waste of money

I recently dined at Golpo Bengal and I must say it was a huge letdown. The food quality was nowhere near what I expected, especially given the high prices and portions are very small One of the major disappointments was the bread. They didn t even have a proper naan bread maker on-site. Instead, they served us pre-packaged bread that seemed to come straight from a supermarket like Sainsbury s or Tesco, simply reheated before being served. For the price they charged, I expected fresh, authentic naan. It felt like a rip-off, and the overall experience left me regretting my visit. I wouldn t recommend this place if you re looking for quality and authenticity in your food. Definitely not worth the money.

Great place to have a catch-up with some tasty street food. We had a selection of plates to share, and everything was wonderful. Especially liked the chicken wings, tender and packed a punch.

Vegetarian options: The jackfruit and lotus root korma was beautiful although we have decided it was too mild for us. Date naan is with date syrup, instead of actual dates.
