Soon become my favorite seafood restaurant in Cambridge. Fishes are fresh, scallops and prawns are cooked beautifully. With the addition of the delicious sauce, the whole plate makes a lot of sense.
Dine in for 1, Oct 2024. Do make a reservation. I enjoyed the window seat as it was great lighting (even when rainy) and very peaceful. This was a hearty lunch but I ate all of it but 2pc of sourdough. Next time I don’t need that much food (bread). Sourdough - 6.8/10 - 4 large slices warm bread with big heap of black butter. Black butter was savory and interesting and I kept coming back for more. Crumpet with crab - 5.8/10 - HEAVY and suuuper peppery. You can’t really taste the crab, just the pepper. The crumpet was thick and dense but fluffy, but with the thick cacio Pepe sauce it was just too much. 6 oysters - 7.8/10 - first one was very gritty but the remaining 5 were good. The “fin vin” was a bit too overpowering with the sesame oil so I overdid the first one, second one, and the third one (decreasing every time). By the forth I just dipped the spoon, and flicked two tiny drops and it was better. The other two I just enjoyed with lemon and they were lovely. Mussel dashi - 9.4/10 - wow. What a combo of flavors! I didn’t know what to expect but this is more like a hearty bowl of soup. I found the green olives made it a touch too salty, they were also the only things I left in the bowl (but alas, I don’t love olives so if you do I’m sure you will find it to be delicious). The squash and mussels and dashi were the stars tho. Big juicy mussels and perfectly soft and almost mushy in the best way. The dashi, although a tad salty was incredible and I finished every last drop. I would Service - friendly but incredibly slow. I guess it’s good they don’t rush you. Over 15min or downtime btwn finishing the oysters and getting the mussel dashi. Would definitely come back and try more items.
Very interesting seafood menu. Top quality fish and shellfish with Japanese and European fusion vibes. It’s great to sit at the counter bar while watching the chefs cooking. Good food with no frills.
What a fantastic experience! Service was spectacular, food was really tasty and well explained. I liked the pace the plates were coming at. I particularly loved the nioki, the bread and the dessert. Definitely coming back, thank you ❤️
We had a fantastic lunch at Fin Boys on a day trip to Cambridge from London. The service was warm and friendly. Loved sitting at the counter watching the chefs in action! This is definitely a spot that requires booking in advance. Everything was delicious - we shared three snacks (prawn toast, crab crumpet, handrolls), two mains (Scallops and Monk fish) and both the sides (tomato salad and potato salad). Would recommend all the dishes we tried. I was sad to leave without trying dessert but we were so full!! Make sure to order a bottle of the reisling! Worked well with all our dishes.
Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful, with a great atmosphere, and the staff are kind and friendly. As for the food? It's really tasty, and there's no other place like this in Cambridge. To start, we had oysters and the sourdough with the Fin Boys' black butter, which has a unique flavour, along with some of the best prawn toasts we've ever had. For mains, we tried the John Dory fish and a trout Wellington, both of which were very tasty and we finished with an affogato. Highly recommend! If you're thinking of visiting this place, don't hesitate to make a reservation straight away.
Compliments to the chef for the absolutely excellent execution of the tasting menu. Everything was delightful - from the Black Butter, to every single fish creatively matched with bursts of delightful flavours and texture. Considering further that the menu changes on a weekly basis, this is an amazing display of talent on the chefs and their team. We enjoyed every dish, and relished the buildup of flavours from one dish to the next as a wonderful sensory experience for our palates. Well worth the value. Compliments also to the service crew for the attentive service with a smile. Each one of them made us feel welcomed and were delightful to interact with. Thank you for the wonderful evening!
It is a supreme dining experience. Starting from the self made black butter which matches with the bread perfectly. And then the oysters are so fresh, and the sauce brings out another layer of freshness. You can watch how the chef prepares the dishes in the open kitchen, which is a joy as well. We tried John Dory and Halibut, both dishes again match with the sauce and the side perfectly. If you don't mind a bit of texture, I would recommend Halibut, it brings you different layers of tastes when it stays long enough in your mouth. We were already thinking about our next visit when we were still enjoying the main dishes.
Fantastic experience, would highly recommend the tasting menu. Sit at the bar if you can, lots of interesting chat to be had about the food.
Really great place with some incredible dishes. We had the Saturday 7 course taster menu with paired wine. The courses were all interesting and delicious, we were particularly taken with the smoked eel and scallops courses. The paired wines were all delicious. We ll definitely go back
Regret waiting so long to come here, the food and staff alike were great. The dishes were fresh and interesting and very well prepared. The restaurant itself was very clean and relaxed. Zero complaints whatsoever I will definitely be back!
The food was delicious and so were the drinks! We sat at the kitchen facing section of the restaurant and it was really interesting to see/watch the food being made :) Very friendly and professional staff! Would definitely come back again. If you like seafood this is the spot in Cambridge
We had lunch today, my mum and aunt got sick afterwards and Im feeling unwell. DO NOT RISK IT. Service charge is not mentioned in the menu. ~200 for 3 people
What a great place to eat. Staff were super friendly, you can watch it all being done from the counter dining seats. I will be back.
First visit today and will be back. Delicious, expertly cooked and presented dishes.
Amazing staff, great vibe. Food was spectacular, great wine pairing and really fresh ingredients. Amazing to see the chefs prepare the food in-front of you!
I love this restaurant. Weve eaten here twice and both times the food, atmosphere and service have been fantastic. We had the tasting menu on both occasions and it was varied, imaginative, beautifully presented and delicious. My 3rd trip is already booked. Dietary restrictions: If you eat fish youll be fine, otherwise you should definitely call them Parking: In the evening, park in the Queen Anne Terrace car park round the corner for free
Fabulous food
Visited couple of days back. Enjoyed the sea food... Tried risotto and it was amazing.. Loved the lobster and mackerel too... Special compliments to the lovely Indian girl at reception for her warm hospitality
Amazing menu and great selection of wine. We had the bread obviously (which comes still warm and was more like a brioche that day, absolutely divine with the butter) and then everything was as good. We shared everything because we both wanted to taste everything haha. Its really on my top list in Cambridge !!
Nice enough food, some dishes were great, others underwhelming with little flavour. Slightly misleading advertising, you would be lead to belive that fin boys use the freshest from individual day boats, yet the halibut that we had was actually farmed. I have never come across farmed halibut, and I do not support the fish farming industry, a reason for choosing this restaurant. The wine pairing was good as was the service. An extractor fan would be a good edition as everything is cooked in the same room as the diners. (Edit after responce from owner) I fully understand about the halibut farming process, I listened intently as you proudly informed me of the process which I didnt know existed. A sad revelation. Work needed responding to your customers you cant be wrong can you ! I didnt leave the restaurant all evening, maybe another unhappy customer ?
Excellent food. Inventive enough with fantastic produce and great technique. Easily one of the top restaurants in Cambridge. V good value tasting menu at £85
If you are looking for truly exceptional food and drink in an intimate and clean environment then look no further. Came here for a birthday lunch and every course was served within excellent time and each dish presented fresh and delicate flavours (if you don t get the oysters you are really missing out) The team keep a clean and efficient ship whilst providing truly exceptional service. If I could, I would dine here breakfast lunch and dinner every day. Can t say enough great things, thank you Jess for looking after us during our visit. Dietary restrictions: Had a nut allergy that was very well catered for.
The food was good, although after hearing many good reviews I was a bit disappointed. Expected to be wowed, as the speciality is fish. However, the main I had was very bland. Our friends confirmed it is usually of higher standard. Perhaps the chef was having an off night. Unfortunately due to the expense, I wouldn t rush back. I have dined at similar priced restaurants (serving fish) and preferred. None the less an enjoyable evening. Although the service was good, I was also shocked by high % service charge.
Second time I ve been and neither time disappointed! Incredibly yummy food! So many flavours that you can really pick out. Everything tasted so fresh. The basque cheesecake was delicious and to my surprise they make it in house! Service is nice and polite and love that we can ask anyone questions about the food and they know the answers. Love sitting at the bar, too. Thanks
Stand-out courses, apart from the iconic prawn toast, were the scallops and the halibut (beautiful emulsion)
Best restaurant in Cambridge. Ive tried almost all of them, including two of the eight Michelin Star restaurants and this is by far, the best restaurant I have been to. Even the lunch experience is superior to everything in town. They have a fantastic wine list and the expertise to pair each dish accordingly. Truly unbelievable place. When are they getting a star? The staff are card carrying kitchen wizards.
Birthday celebration was a disappointment. The friendly staff and pleasant ambience couldnt hide the average cooking; hake was fussily dressed in a sliver of zucchini yet was mushily overcooked on the outside and pink in the middle. Food
Prawn toast and crab cakes was delicious. The flavors was just incredible. Thank you
AMAZING!!!
What a fantastic meal!!! Loved everything about it!! Owner and staff fantastic and the selection of wine was perfect to match the amazing food. Food
Favorite restaurant in Cambridge so far! Went there on my birthday, fresh ingredient only needs simple light seasoning to deliver the big flavours. Definitely coming back!
Exceptional
As an Australian it s very hard to find good food in Cambridge, but this was SO good. Recommend the tasting menu with the matching wines.
One of Cambridges top destinations for foodies.
Very fresh dishes, fish well cooked. However, bones in the dishes which caused my father to choke. Staff didn t do much or apologise when it occurred, in fact they made us feel like we had caused the issue and were unwelcome. Ruined what could have been an otherwise nice experience.
Fin Boys catered for us at home to celebrate a family birthday and I would highly recommend them. They catered for 8 of us, discreetly cooking a delicious tasting menu in our home, taking care of everything and creating a very special evening for us. Not only was the food incredible but it was the small touches, from laying the table to telling us the detail behind every dish. We felt thoroughly spoiled and we hope to repeat the experience in the future!
A great relaxing atmosphere with warm friendly staff that make you instantly welcomed. This restaurant is the complete package as the food is also outstanding.
We had the pleasure of dining at Finboys restaurant this evening and we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional seafood experience they offered. The dishes were prepared with perfectionist precision, yet without overcomplicating the flavors or the ambiance. The portion sizes were just right, allowing us to savor each bite without feeling overwhelmed. The combination of fish we had, including, oysters, monkfish and hake, showcased the unique flavors of each ingredients while complementing each other beautifully. It was evident that great care and attention to detail went into crafting each dish. Having dined at various five-star restaurants in various places ,we can confidently say that your establishment stands out as truly exceptional. The culinary team deserves all the credit for creating such a memorable dining experience. The cost of the food was well worth the exceptional quality and artistry. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the waitresses and the person who came up with the baby chair idea for our daughter. Their warm hospitality and thoughtfulness made our dining experience even more enjoyable. For those who appreciate and understand the intricacies of fine seafood, I highly recommend this restauranbt t. Colin.
Fantastic restaurant. Very friendly staff. The starters and smaller dishes, especially the Lobster were next level.
I went for lunch (pre-booked) and went a la carte ordering 3 dishes, costing me in total £60 ish including the service charge. The food quality was good and I wouldnt say amazing. The eel soup got tiny bones. They didnt even proactively offering a waiver of service charge for that kind of fault, as a fine-dining restaurant it was a shame (for the price they are charging, it is comparable to No. 22nd and I will rank it as a fine-dining restaurant and benchmark against the likewise). Mediocre service and the staff doesnt even say goodbye when I was leaving....
We did the weekend tasting menu. I couldn t recomend it more! Amaizing food, wine and all round great experience. Thanks Richard and team.
We went for lunch on Saturday and it was lovely. The bread and black butter were very tasty and we had fun trying to remember the ingredients making the butter so umami! We all really enjoyed the eel, absolutely delicious - both tender and full of flavour. Great fish cookery on the mains, vegetables and sauces well-matched, and a great pudding (not too sweet). As the staff pointed out, they are fish cooks not baristas, but that gave us an excellent excuse to walk further along Mill Road in the glorious sunshine to get a coffee. Staff were really nice too - helpful but not overbearing. Thank you!
Fantastic fish, great service and lovely atmosphere! Couldn t recommend this place enough! The food and wine was delicious, made under our very eyes! We will definitely be back. It s on the pricier side but some tasty cheaper dishes, and considering the Cambridge foodscape definitely worth spending a little extra to get something really delicious.
Jay Rayner was correct. This place is wonderful. We sat at the bar watching the action. What they produce from the small kitchen is incredible. So good we rebooked
Very much enjoyed the tasting menu and wine pairing last night. Stand out items were the wild garlic and squid ink butter on lovely bread and the prawn toast that oozed deliciousness! Loved sitting at the bar and seeing the chefs at work. Would love it if the restaurant would put the Dessimis Pinot Grigio 2021 on the wine list!
These guys have extremely tasty fish. Perfect umami, perfect prawn toast. Nice staff.
Exceptionally delicious food and wine, lovely atmosphere and staff. Such a treat. Will be back as often as possible!
Perfect lunch
Great experience. Very friendly staff!
Fabulous as always!
Very competent kitchen although a little pricey. My favourite are the cured and raw dishes
My new favourite Cambridge restaurant. Outstanding food, perfectly paired with excellent but very affordable wines, perfect service and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. What more could you ask for? (Oh, and order the prawn toast, it s amazing!)
Great fishy menu
absolutely spectacular kitchen-side experience ... prepared before your eyes by friendly chefs ... these guys do wonderful things with delicious looking fresh raw fish .. Ceviche ... wellingtons ... scallops in light curry ... prawn toast ... wonderful stuff ... and certainly the a la carte menu is not pricey ... the two of us shared a whole cascade of delicious dishes and loved it!
Lovely food and lovely chef Charlotte who served us! Prawn toast is by far the best Ive ever had and a great wine selection too, would definitely recommend
We had a very nice lunch here. Personally we enjoyed the prawn toast and the eel dish the most. Oh and the black garlic butter and sourdough bread. Yum! The salmon mousse didn t taste like salmon to us but it was wrapped in salmon so maybe that s what the idea was. (?) The scallops were beautiful, we thought the green curry was a little boring, a little kaffir lime and split coconut would ve killed it though! We wish the ice cream was better quality in our affogato, it had little ice bits in it. We tried all the white wines BTG on the menu and thought hm nice, but more fuller bodied/spicier whites would ve complimented most of the richer dishes better. Perhaps a couple more with slightly higher res sugar . It was a nice experience all in all and the staff was helpful and friendly. So thank you!
Delicious food and an incredibly friendly staff. Ive gone for the regular menu and the tasting menu and both have been delicious!
We went for our second visit the other day and again found delicious food and wine on the tasting menu. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for - the quality is fantastic. The staff are passionate about what they do and clearly love food and cooking it (one even had a tattoo of a tin of sardines in tribute to his love of fish). Service is unpretentious and excellent. I cannot fault this place.
Enjoyed the Saturday evening taster menu. Great variety of tasty fish dishes with an Asian twist. Suitable time between dishes so that you did not feel rushed. Staff were friendly, happy and attentive. Excellent wine pairing that complemented the dishes perfectly.
With no booking, I was lucky enough to get them to fit me in for a 2pm Saturday slot. EDIT: via one of the joint owners as it turns it. Hat-tip to Richard for his help. Kudos, man. A window seat overlooking the crowds living on Mill Road made my day. Having grabbed an earlier lunch elsewhere, I only managed two of their dishes, the smoked eel mousse and the brill. But they were outstanding. This food slaps; fun, exciting and friendly. Some of the best fish I ve eaten this side of Josh Niland and Tom Brown.
The food was OK. Tuna tartare was under-seasoned and lacked any sort of acid or kick leaving it somewhat underwhelming. However the crab and fennel salad was good, and the taramasalata was one of the best I ve eaten. The sea bass (edit: my mistake it was Monk fish) was alright but the Bream on the next table made me wish I d chosen that. I think we either had someone new or they were having an off day as the service was not the best. The waiter was quite surly when we arrived, barely saying a word as we were seated. He then brought the menu and started going through the drinks whilst my wife was in the toilet. When it came taking the order and my wife asked about non alcoholic drinks he huffed and pointed to the bit of the menu like he expected I should have run through it with her rather than he should have waited. It would have been nice if he d talked through some of the dishes. Instead we were told to order a snack, then a starter, then a main. Thanks for the tip! When the food arrived he stood with his arms crossed in front of us as we ate for the first 10 mins, almost standing over us. It made me quite uncomfortable. No one asked how we were doing or if we liked the food at any point. I guess they weren t that interested? We all have off days and looking at the other reviews I think we may have come at a bad time for them. Edit: my goodness, get some social media training. Your responses here to any person with an issue is to pretend they have never been to your restaurant. It s bizarre and old fashioned like your food. Own it and improve, don t attack your customers pretending everything in your house is perfect. It s embarrassing. So many reviews here question the service and you do not address it once. I get your focus is the kitchen, but as a customer FOH is just as important. It s very telling that you don t in fact address a single thing I ve written.
Me and my friend went to Fin Boys on Friday and shared oysters. Since then both of us have been feeling very sick, vomiting and having fever. The stuff says that it must be Noravirus, which even if it was we got it from Fin Boys lunch. They try to blame it on anything but themselves. The only period of time me and my friend spent together is that one lunch in Fin Boys and we both got sick. There is no other explanation why we would simultaneously have food poisoning. The fact that the stuff doesnt even want to acknowledge the issue just shows how seriously they take their customers. Multiple people have commented on getting sick from those oysters. The least you can do is pull them off the menu until you find what is the problem.
EDIT : Ate on Thursday not wednesday . Everything was just a bit meh. We had oysters to start which were ok. Then we had a cold mussel salad which was fine. Two mains were good but the dessert tasted like pure basil, really overpowering. At one point you could hear members of staff behind the counter talking negatively about (assuming) another member of staff. Found ourselves both suffering from a bad case of noravirus on the Friday evening which we presume is from the oysters. EDIT. After that insane response from the owners I have reported them to the council. Thoroughly encourage others to do the same.
Have eaten at Fin Boys many times and for some reason never thought to add a review. Only seeing some people whine about imaginary oyster problems they decided to start slinging mud with made me think I ought to add balance because, well, my friends and I have eaten hundreds of oysters here over lots of visits and no one has ever been sick. In fact, I m not even the worlds biggest committed oyster fan but theirs are always delicious, light, fresh, delicate, a manageable size, and their own accompanying sauce knocks most of your mignonette or Tabasco options out of the park. The rest of the fish is very decent as well and usually very nicely cooked as well as served in imaginative and creative ways. The wine list is accessible and affordable whilst still having something special for that odd occasion too. The guys know what they are doing and do it well.
FOOD POISONING! I had originally posted a great review after eating at Finboys on Friday lunchtime. Both my friend and I had oysters and on Saturday night we both started vomiting violently and I now have a serious fever. Other people have recently been posting about this on here (all after eating oysters) and the restaurant s response has been to simply apologise and claim it is Norovirus. Well it could be the oysters or it could be Norovirus, but Norovirus is usually spread by human faeces, so if it is Norovirus then somebody working at the restaurant is clearly not washing their hands when they go for a number two. I think rather than saying sorry, you should be offering compensation to people and seriously keeping an eye on your staff. Once can be forgiven as unfortunate, multiple times cannot. EDIT: Since posting this review, the restaurant has replied saying it s norovirus and probably something we came into contact before we ate at the restaurant. I am absolutely stunned at this response. There are three people who have posted recent reviews here saying they ve got food poisoning after eating the oysters, the oysters are the only thing my friend and I had in common. I m sorry but there s a common denominator here and it s your restaurant and you should do something about it because food poisoning is potentially very serious. EDIT: Also staggering is the suggestion that I should contact their oyster suppliers for compensation! That is just not how things work. You served the oysters, your responsibility. EDIT: like the previous reviewers, I have decided to report this restaurant to the council. Owner called me this morning and actually got angry when I said I disagreed that asking me to seek compensation from the supplier was the way to go. This restaurant s success will quickly turn around with this sort of insane attitude.
My boyfriend and I had their tasting menu on 20th Jan (Saturday) which included raw oyster. On the coming Monday both my bf and I started vomiting - I had a high fever and my bf also got diarrhea. I wrote an email to the restaurant to inform them of this and they said they would talk to their oyster supplier and keep me in the loop. However I have not heard from them since then. I also heard from friends that this happened to thee as well when they dined at this restaurant, so I think it is worth mentioning to people who consider going there EDIT: When I posted this I didn t even read previous reviews and was not aware of similar thing happening to other people a few days ago, while the owner was so keen to classify this as the bandwagon effect. (AND The friends I mentioned above dined here quite a while ago). Now that I have read other negative reviews, I am truly <amazed> at how this restaurant handled stuff they don t want to hear.
This place is awful! Such rude staff and from the looks of all these bad reviews as well the managers apparent ego mania and inability to take criticisms. It must be a hell to work there.
My friends and I visited Fin Boys last Wednesday for a special night of German inspired dishes with paired wines. Absolutely fantastic, highly imaginative dishes and excellent value for money. I have also visited on several occasions and have enjoyed the a la carte menu and set menus. Highly recommended. See you again soon! Dietary restrictions: I have seen the team accommodate dietary restrictions without any fuss.
Stunning meal. Recommended for anyone looking for a special fish restaurant.
A shame about the bandwagon of one star reviews below... This place is fantastic. Fresh and beautifully designed dishes, solid wine list, and knowledgeable, friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit for any and all seafood fans!
Love this place, the staff are amazing, really knowledgeable about the food, which is superb.
The tasting menu we had was excellent and the wine pairing worked very well with it. The seafood here really is outstanding. Fantastic service, and a very good level of gluten-free accommodation for me. An excellent restaurant that I will continue to look forward to eating at whenever I find myself in Cambridge. Dietary restrictions: Good level of gluten-free accommodation, especially if you can consume soy sauce (which is usually less than 20ppm).
What an amazing experience last night at Fin Boys. Fin Boys is beacon for Seafood lovers seeking an unparalleled dining experience. From the moment you step through the door, the inviting ambiance and the tantalizing aroma of fresh catches set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. We opted for the Set Menu with the wine pairings. Each bite was a testament to the restaurants dedication to quality. From the succulent Tuna to melt-in-your-mouth perfectly seared scallops, every dish is a celebration of Fin Boys seafood expertise. The restaurants commitment to excellence extends to its thoughtfully curated wine selection. The knowledgeable staff are more than willing to guide you through the perfect pairing, enhancing the overall dining experience and ensuring every sip complemented the flavors of our chosen seafood dish. Fin Boys is a local gem, the experience was way beyond our expectations. This is a must-visit restaurant. We will be back very soon.
Our second visit to fin boys last night and our first time trying the set menu. As with the first visit was absolutely stunning, easily the best seafood in Cambridge if not the best restaurant. Plate after plate of delicious fish in a beautiful ambience, this place is a must try!
Prawn Toast and Oysters to start. Monkfish and Sea Trout for main. Cheesecake and Sticky Toffee Pudding to finish. Simply superb in every respect - would recommend unreservedly. Fantastic.
Was really excited to go after hearing good things but sadly was not a good experience and won t be returning. Also really shocking and unprofessional to see the restaurant owners/staff rude responses to people taking the time to review their experiences. Feedback from your customers is a gift that should be taken with humility and customers should never be trolled if they leave less than 4 star reviews. Take the feedback and grow from it. The service was really aloof and cold, the food was under seasoned and pretty average which was a shame considering the lovely quality ingredients. Perhaps we should have done an evening tasting menu instead of a la carte lunch as other customers seemed to really enjoy their experience and maybe more experienced/passionate staff work front of house for the evening. The monkfish was tough and overcooked and under seasoned, the tuna tartare was woefully under seasoned and unpleasant to eat. We had left most of it and no one cared that we hadn t enjoyed it. The crab salad was decent but again lacked seasoning. If you are going to be so bold as to not put salt and pepper on the tables then please have the decency to season your beautiful ingredients correctly.
A real treasure! The place is welcoming and the service friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. The fish soup was deep and satisfying and the smoked salmon delicate. The hake and sea trout were beautifully pan fried and the sides were refined and perfectly complemented the fish. One of the owners kindly gave us some taramasalata which we enjoyed on New Year s Eve, it was smooth perfection! We can t wait to return.
Just had an excellent lunch at Fin Boys. All courses were outstanding, but the starters (prawn toast, pastrami sea trout and aged tuna) were particularly delicious. Service was very friendly and informal. Well be back soon!
The milk bread dominated the taste of the aged tuna starter while the tuna had no taste, disappointing. The wild sea bass main was overcooked which was pointed out to the staff who did not comment and just walked away. Very disappointing. This was our second visit to Fin Boys. The first visit had been a superb experience while the second visit was the complete opposite and did not justify the high price charged for the meal.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here and the food was fantastic. Clean, balanced, nicely put together and very tasty. The only drawback was our waiter who didn t have much to offer. We were asking a few questions about the menu and not much came back. Quote Which dish is the most popular Answer the salmon is alright . He said he had been there a couple of years so the service was a little disappointing.
The food was good. However, the choices were limited, the service was poor & the prices were high. Also they give you a daily menu, went there on a Thur when I looked it up & compared with the online one, its the same menu every day. Itss a rip off & would definitely not go back there.
Amazing tasting menu. Will be back!
We came to Cambridge to see our friends and they made a reservation here. The food was fresh, the menu was intriguing and everything was delicious. Even though I don t like see food that much I loved everything that i tried. The black bream with miso butter was so good that we ate the last bit of sauce with bread to not waste any drop. Thank you for the amazing food hope to come again.
Great experience and food
We loved the decision-free dinner menu. Sat down and delicious, imaginative course after course appeared! Great wine pairing too. Highly recommend.
Once again an amazing dining experience. Impeccable! Every single aspect. From the suggestions made (we couldn t decide because the whole menu looked so inviting!) to the service to the wine! Once again I chose the oysters because they are simply the best. Stand outs though were the monkfish and the turbot.. and the affogato dessert!! Incredible.. oh and the risotto was also the best I ve ever had undoubtedly! I loved everything and cannot wait to return!
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Cambridge is luck to have gained such a gem to the culinary options.
Second visit and wanted to treat my Mum - was a totally perfect evening. Lovely and attentive service sitting at the bar - great English sparkling wine to start with the pint of prawns. Mains lovely - fresh fish prepared beautifully with imaginative sauces (if I was going to be a teeny bit critical the mushroom shoyu with the pollack was a little too salty for me but it s soy sauce so you d expect this and probably my personal preference!! ) - the fish was still beautifully cooked and tasted fab. The sides were great and the baked cheesecake with rhubarb a revelation. We had such a lovely evening and the staff made it so special - it s not the cheapest but worth every penny. Thanks team - we will be back!
We love fish and seafood. We became very excited when we saw an ad for Fin Boys in the local paper. We had a possible celebration imminent and decided we try Fin Boys. We were also pleased that, aside from the diner, fish mongery or butchery as the shop prefers, was part of the set up. Our previous supplier had retired and left us without an immediate source of produce. So, my wife got her job and we booked our table for Saturday night. I also placed an order to stock my freezer. Full marks all round! The ten course taster menu was superb. I m a big eater and it fully satisfied me but courses were delicate and ticked all the boxes for fine dining. We were well served and loved the general ambiance. The toilets were a selling point too! We shall definitely be back perhaps midweek to eat a La carte. When we got home I opened our box of prawns, halibut, mackerel and pollock and almost started cooking there and then, but I was full! Parking: Having a blue badge I parked on double yellow lines in Mortimer Road.
Wow, what a wonderful restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, delicious menu and the staff were genuine and friendly. Would completely recommend
Subtle, superior. Excellent service. Couldn t recommend more. Good people, great food. Do it and enjoy!!
Amazing!
I basically feel that for the price we paid (around £200 including a bottle of wine) I would expect more than sitting at a bar counter (despite we had a reservation) and having to re-use the same cutlery which had to go directly onto the table (I dont mind re-using the same cutlery but at least would have liked a plate or a napkin where to rest them on between meals). I had to put my used fork on top of the spoon so that it wouldnt touch the table (see photo). The food was nice, but it wasnt spectacular and of the desserts I didnt like one of them whereas my husband didnt like the other one. I think the service needs refinement. P.S. reply to Richard: no, we did not have a table, we were sitting at the counter, so thats not a table. I didnt ask to change my cutlery, Im complaining about the lack of a plate or something where to keep my cutlery clean, as putting a dirty cutlery on the table is just gross. This is something that a client should not even ask for. It should just be simply provided as its basic hygiene and given the price you charge for, Im sure you can provide a small plate or something else.
Perfect fish cookery, a wonderful piece of gunnard crisp but lightly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Pommes Anna with a lovely tarragon sauce. Again the seasoning was excellent. The asparagus and morels were perfectly cooked with a lovely sauce. Considerate service and great wine, whats not to love. Long may they be successful.
I really love it here. I ve been several times for lunch and it s always fantastic. The menu varies and the seafood is always incredible. Great relaxed unpretentious vibe. The quality of the food is second to none and the people are lovely. Probably my favourite place in Cambridge.
The best 7-course menu featuring fish and excellent wines! The service is truly the best, so friendly! Many congratulations to the entire isa bd team
First class sea food. Cooked by a 1st class chef
Fantastic seafood restaurant, great friendly staff and wonderful fresh fish dishes cooked right in front of you. If you love seafood genuinely worth a visit!
Fantastic meal! I cycle past Fin Boys on my commute and it always looks packed. The tasting menu was amazing and the flight of wine a revelation (the chilled red with the turbot worked so well).
Delicious and interesting food, attentive but unpretentious service, special but informal atmosphere - something a bit different for Cambridge. We did the flight of wine too - well matched to the food, and made the experience. Thanks for a great evening.
Overrated- had been waiting to come here for a while but it was just a very expensive plate of fish. And strange service which involved not clearing your empty starter plates. Not special overall- wouldn t rush back.
Overrated, the food was good, we ordered a plate of oysters, sourdough, soup and a bottle of white wine. However, we expected having an great experience at this price but the service was poor. Not worth it tbh.
good
Brilliant spot. Fish was beautiful and the service excellent
Fantastic fish restaurant, we visited on a Saturday for the fixed menu. Every course was delicious and the service was great. Only improvement could be more tables.
Great meal - already looking forward to going again! Would recommend to anyone who loves fish - and to anyone who doesn t it might change your mind! Really good food and service by friendly staff. A great addition to Cambridge!
We tried their 7 course tasting menu. Fantastic service and atmosphere. The food tasted amazing and was quite creative. Unfortunately, however, my partner got seriously ill from the oysters he ate
Food was bomb!! I had the lobster with breadcrumbs and it was one of the best things I have ever had. One thing that can use an improvement though. The waitress did not seem to be very knowledgeable. We did not understand the menu and ask if it was fish and she said yes. Turned out the pasta dish we ordered was vegetarian. I understand that they just recently opened but the staff should be trained To the owner that suggested that I went to a wrong restaurant. Please look at my photos. The plate is exactly the same as the plates from your restaurant. I went there 2 years ago likely on the first day. Maybe YOU got the wrong place?
This restaurant is a must for all seafood lovers; if you don t go you ll have lost out on a seafood adventure ! The flavours were extraordinary and each dish in the tasting menu was sensational . We shall be back !
Fabulous lunch, freshly cooked in front of you. Loved sitting at the bar as you could see all the dishes being cooked and served. Absolutely mouth watering. My hake was cooked to perfection.
Third time getting the tasting menu - never disappointed. The flavours are well balanced, the service is impeccable. The wine flight is chosen with taste. Also very impressed with their dessert. Looking forward to next time!
We think this team has fabulous approach to seafood and its always an interesting experience. On this occasion we purchased fathers day boxes the sashimi and oysters. Both were high quality boxes and a great idea. I appreciate sauces being boxed separately as particularly the heavy umami styles that sometimes feature are one aspect I am less keen on. Having the option to try is perfect. We will keep coming back
Great seafood! Lovely atmosphere and great service.
I LOVE PLATTER Monk fish is outstanding .. can t wait to be back Food : 5/5
Overpriced with hits and misses. Tuna Tataki. The first bite is a little fishy, but the rest is fine. Not as sweet as expected for fresh fish but neutral. The spicy peanut butter compensates the lack of flavor. Not too different from my poke bowl I d say. Portland white crab is alright. The crab itself is naturally sweet and fresh-tasting, but the marinated cucumber somehow overshadows the natural flavor of the crab. (My friend got a small piece of shell.) Lemon sole is absolutely beautiful. Very tender, nicely seasoned with lemony butter, which complements the fish well without overpowering it. The fish is large, but we didn t get tired of eating from 2-star to 3-star thanks to the lemon sole. The monkfish, however, is a little disappointing. It s on the drier side and lacks flavor. Perhaps the thicker fish works better with a sauce rather than dry rub. The seasoning of the veggies is a little too sweet. The sides and desserts do not look appealing (and the chef looked more disappointed than I was because I ordered only mains and starters). I would have appreciated more simple veggies/salads. The ones on the menu are too heavy to go with the fish. I did add sourdough to go with the meal. The seaweed butter is lovely. Creamy with a touch of the sea. Environment-wise, while I always enjoy watching the process of creating culinary art and smelling good food, ventilation is a problem. One cooker hood at the far end away from the stove isn t enough. I expected more at this price level. Maybe it wasn t a good day, but a good establishment needs consistency, even with frequently changing menus. Perhaps this one too ambitious for now :)
We have been here twice already for Saturday nights set menu and will definitely return again. The menu changes regularly so we had a completely different menu each time and absolutely loved every single dish. The wine flight is also incredible. Its clear that the team put a lot of thought and care into everything. Fantastic value for money!
The food at Fin Boys is so good, eating it is practically a religious experience. We come here as an extra special treat and they never fail to make our night marvellous. The service is always flawless, the atmosphere cozy, refined and fun. The food - earth-shatteringly excellent. Can only recommend.
Lovely food - we had the tasting menu - served by friendly and informative people. Not cheap but well worth it
Incredible 7 course tasting menu including the best oyster Ive ever had
Weve been twice and both times it has been exceptional. Cannot recommend enough!
Amazing food, highly recommended for seafood lovers. Staff and service were great too
Imaginative, playful, intricate, generous, above all delicious. All staff were interesting and informative to talk to and never pushy. A faultless evening, cant wait to go back.
Best seafood restaurant for miles . These guys are really serious about fish and their menu is always really creative. I really like the lunchtime a la carte menu, recently went for the 10 course tasting menu too and will be back again. The fact that they change the menus so regularly is great.
great food! great service! I enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the preparations. Great place!
I took my grandma here for her birthday and the staff could not have been more helpful and charming. Excellent food and service all round. Wheelchair accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible and the toilets are step free but there arent disabled friendly accessories once in the toilets.
The scallops starters and John Dory main was so amazing! Very clean place too.
As always, Fabulous Fin Boys! Incredible food, beautiful wine (at a very reasonable price) and perfect service. Always a pleasure.
It was a 10/10 meal. The staff were so helpful and lovely and the food was delicious and with the flavours being well thought out. Would 100% recommend.
Smells horrible .. whenever I pass by this shop, I have to hold my breath...
Fin Boys is always a guarantee for delicious seafood cooked and presented to perfection. Everything was so flavoursome and beautiful, I always return home satisfied ^^ This time I have only a very very small piece of advice to give. When a dish is spicy, please highlight it somehow on the menu, because is not always clear (I could not detect in the description of the scallops on soumen the presence of spice).
Absolutely fantastic, wonderful culinary experience.
Birthday dinner on a Tuesday evening. We loved every mouthful! It was a superb experience and well worth the price for the occasion. Thank you
best fish restaurant in Cambridge
Best meal and experiece. Taste explosion!!
Best fish restaurant in Cambridge
We had a delicious lunch with some of the best prepared fish weve had. Lovely team and having seats at the kitchen counter was a bonus. Highly recommend!
The best restaurant in Cambridge in no uncertain terms.
Fabulous addition to the Cambridge food scene! Inventive, delicious combinations of flavours, simply prepared and making use of the abundant, fresh seafood from the British coast. Add to that a well curated wine list tailored to fit. All housed in a restaurant with a cool, vaguely U.S. West Coast vibe, and prepared by guys who really care about what theyre doing. The final gift is the Basque Cheesecake, a plate of which may well be my last request before I shuffle off my mortal coils..... Bravo.
Top notch fish dishes that easily exceeded expectations. It is one of the rare restaurants that doesnt slap the service charge on without asking, but actually allows you to choose on the payment terminal if you tip.
Superb in all ways
Fantastic tasting menu and lovely chilled atmosphere. Great fish cookery
We dropped in lunch on a whim and well definitely be back. We had the monkfish with peas and asparagus in a lobster and saffron sauce with a side of heirloom tomatoes which complimented nicely. Id recommend both. The staff were great as well. A bit on the pricey side but very much worth it in my opinion.
Ive been wanting to try this place for a while, which serves at the counter as well as at the tables (inside and outside). The dishes I tried were good and I would say original. Its a little expensive, but its understandable for seafood dishes.
The quality of the food was fine, but extremely over priced for the size of the portions, not well presented and cold. They did offer very little extra with the food, and one has to order even sides as they are not included in the very high price. In general not worth and indeed not a place I would go back to. The last working there was very kind, did not get the same impression of the other colleagues.
Definately go.
We had a really excellent weekday lunch here. Its a charming and unassuming dining space where youre eating right amidst the produce and the chefs which sets a really buzzy atmosphere. The menu is concise and changed regularly to reflect the produce they have on offer; we had crab, oysters, and a fantastic ajo blanco followed by monkfish and a whole lemon sole. Freshness and flavours were really top drawer, and the service was likewise. An excellent, excellent restaurant that offers something quite unique for Cambridge.
Lovely staff and an interesting menu, most of which was absolutely delicious (although we did find the crab a little bland unfortunately) - dish of the day was definitely the spaghetti alle vongole, and the ice cream was also stunning! It was pleasantly full for a midweek evening with a nice atmosphere. The volume of the music was a little high for us, although we were sat towards the back of the room so maybe this was just our location. Would recommend to anyone looking to treat themselves to a nice lunch and a glass of white!
Fresh, clean, focused. Delicious. Great wine selection.
Outstanding! A beautiful gastro experience
Delicious! and sorted out an error I made in the booking time, thank you
Good but pricey. Nice vibes. Oysters average. Crab excellent. Bread
Easily the best seafood Ive had in Cambridge. In particular, the oysters were incredibly fresh and buttery, as they should be. Would recommend trying their black butter for something truly interesting and tasty. Enjoyed sitting at the bar, watching the staff prepare the food in front of customers. Theres a relaxed atmosphere and the service was excellent. High recommended, will be coming back to try more of the food.
Top class staff, food and presentation... I hope they will expand soon as public interest to eat there is huge...10 out of 10, on every aspect....to see the food being prepared right next to your seat is somehow... just as it should be, just like at the seafront somewhere in Aldeburgh, Cromer or.... Aberdeen?
Had some incredible food (coming from someone who isnt too kean on fish) great ambiance and great food. Loved how the food was literally cooked infront of you. Fresh and delicious. I splurged and got oysters, tacos, and had cornish lemon sole with crayfish butter. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement are the dessert were slightly dissapointing in comparison to the rest of the meal. But other than that would 100% recommend!
Fancy plating and supposedly gourmet dishes, but the food is not that great, apart from a few bits here and there. However, the personnel is very polite and the decoration carefully made. A bit pricey for a just above average place.
I don t normally add reviews, but this place is exceptional. Locally sourced, fresh fish, an incredibly knowledgeable team and just fantastic food. Had some flavor combinations in their tasting menu that were really fresh, unique and exciting, and a wine pairing that I really enjoyed. Sitting at the fish bar and getting to watch everything happen, while being able to interact with the chef and sommelier was great. They re doing everything right here. I ll definitely be back, highly recommended.
Excellent seafood, innovative menu.
Booked a slot for 2.30 -not knowing last orders are at 2.30!! If nobody tells you that s the rule how are you supposed to know?? Don t take bookings if you expect customers to order it all in the first 5 minutes after they arrive!! What happened to customers are always right? So disappointed - Shame really-
Great food - just don t book the 2.30 slot for lunch or you will go hungry if you don t order it all right away! Wish they told us quite poor service when you spend + &£140 anyway just leaves one with a bitter taste- here is what we can do for you guys- this is on us ..well, it did not happen ! And it was their mistake for not letting us know we only had 5 minutes to order all the food there was going to be!! Since I can t reply I ll add to this - sorry we didn t check your schedule before -we had no idea you close in between lunch and dinner but you really should not take bookings at 2.30 if you are taking last orders then- or if you do, please make it clear! when we ordered the 3 starters &olives and nuts - I would not call them dishes by the way - we said to the waitress we will order mains later! she did not tell us that is not going to be possible! We were there for the tasting menu a couple of weeks ago, and yes we liked it indeed - this is why we wanted to spend our anniversary there but the food was rushed and service quite poor- Sure, it all looks silly now but this whole situation really ruined our day! You should be able to take some criticism without infantilising us - we are all professional people and have to deal with unpleasant comments from peers sometimes -
Wow interesting flavours beautifully presented with huge flavour served in a relaxed environment, we will be back !!!
Excellent fish! We are locals and tried this place for the first time and it is exceptionally good. Particular favourites are the lobster taco, sashimi, the crab (and everything else) on the shellfish platter, and the desserts. The staff were all super knowledgable and helpful with picking plates and wine. Very highly recommend this place for great food, service, and ambiance!
Delicious fresh fish and seafood sourced primarily from UK shores, served by a friendly and clearly passionate staff. The tasting menu changes on a daily basis to continually reflect whatever fresh arrivals theyve got on offer, making the prospect of going back regularly extremely attractive. The dishes were all designed to put the seafood front-and-center with not much extra fluff, which is exactly what youd want from this experience. I loved it!
A taste of the sea on Mill Road. Lovely staff and top quality product. Fresh as it gets oysters, great crab and shrimp...and, of, course fresh catch!
Amazing food, had the 10 course menu at the bar. Wine flight was also excellent. Chefs preparing the food were knowledgeable and service was excellent.
This was an an incredible lunch. The food was amazing.
We had lunch here. All the fish is cooked in front of you, so delicious. A lovely lay out with a bar where you can sit and drink a glass of fizz and eat oysters or sit at a table and order from the menu. One of the best meals Ive had in ages.
Absolutely delightful
Fish was good, can t complaint about the quality at all. Not giving 5 starts because the portions were a bit small and I also think dishes miss a bit of carbs to fill you in. A bit pricy for what you eat and being still hungry after you leave the place. Luckily there are kebab around.
Been here twice now, once for lunch which as very good and another time for dinner which was really excellent. Great use of different ingredients and flaviours from different cusines to create fantastic tasting dishes.
Great fish choices across the menu, sustainably sourced, wonderfully cooked by the chefs in front of you, very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. If you like seafood, youll love Fin Boys
Lovely seafood and friendly service.
Wow. Definitely one of our new favorite restaurants in Cambridge. I went with my family and sat at the bar. It was very fun because we got to watch them cook! Everything we ate was soooo delicious and they had a very nice wine pairing with the meal! 10/10 will be returning soon!!
Sorry no photos, I was too busy enjoying the food. We did not mean to eat here, just happened to walk down Mill row and it was sort of lunch time and there was an empty table outside a Restaurant I had not noticed before so went inside and was greeted by a friendly man who said just sit at the table and he would be out to hand us menus etc. We decided on olives, smoked eel, and a crab starter, with a cucumber salad, and some salt dough bread with tomato and anchovy. Well I was not expecting that down Mill road. Great tasting food , well presented, had a glass of rose wine, and some bottled water. I actually was drawn on by the Tuna tartar, but unfortunately that was on the dinner menu. Very good, will have to wander down Mill road again.
Great oysters
Very nice e ambiance and well organised. Id like to see more daring flavours with more depth. Also.. one member of staff having a dip into the odd food bits in a draw..did not wash hands..then touched his nose twice..then touched food in drawer and still did not wash his hands... very off putting. My advice.. stafg must wash hands every 5 minutes..regardless.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere
Lovely experience to eating fish, but the waiting time could be improved.
Great place for seafood. Staff was very friendly and accommodating as we were celebrating my partner s bday. We always enjoy it here.
What a joy it was to have dinner here! Each dish was unique and tantalising, and sitting at the bar you could delight in seeing every one of them being made. Incredibly great value too!
All are fish.
This is the place that has the audacity to charge a £40 non-refundable up-front booking deposit, and £30 per main, and then not actually give you a table. The vast majority of the seating space is essentially in one long bar format, where you can only sit side-by-side in a row, pressed up against other guests. The staff also make a point of packing you in, to leave no space between guests. Fifteen empty bar seats? Well sit here please, just rest your elbow in this gentlemans lap. There are in fact three tables also available. A 2-seater, and two 4-seaters. However, despite being a party of two, pre-booking and turning up on time, and with the 2-seater table behind us being free, we were forced to sit at the bar. (The table was reserved. Right... didnt we reserve a table for 2, too?). This made it a great date night, because we didnt have to see each others faces. Just the waiters, who stood there watching while we tried to make sense of the menu. Which, by the way, is about as pretentious as it gets. Its essentially written in another language. Your only real guidance is the imaginative prices. And yes, the food really was lovely, but thats not the point. You cant charge £30 a dish and sit me at a bar, anymore than you can charge £30 for a kebab, even if you have Delia Smith in the van. Unfortunately we had to rearrange our booking at the last minute I explained this was due to a sudden emergency which means the restaurant was able to steal our £40 deposit. On pleading, they agreed to steal just £10 of it instead, which was a lot more generous than the average mugger, so I give them that. I do understand the purpose of a non-refundable deposit for a restaurant that has to plan ahead and needs to ward off flaky guests who cancel just because they dont fancy it anymore. But we were not they. We felt so bad when we had to cancel and we really had to but with full intention of rebooking, i.e. the full intention of still giving the restaurant our money, which ultimately we did. But they would not budge. What theyre going to do with that £10 I dont know, but Im sure it was worth it. By the time we left, that 2-seater table behind us was still empty.
The place I would visit Cambridge again and again for. De-li-ciouuuuuus!
I travelled from London to celebrate a friends wedding and made a late reservation. Spoke to a manager called Charlie who confirmed our booking for four. Upon arrival I found out our table had been given away to a walk in. Charlie was rude, dismissive and unapologetic. **If you need further affirmation of the quality of the service just look at the response the owner has provided. Thank you Charlie for confirming you should not be in the service industry
Dietary restrictions: They adjusted the set menu to gluten free needs at very short notice and the outcome was incredible! Food
One of the best food experiences I ever had. Service was excellent and food was delicious! They adapted all for gluten free requirements.
Came here for lunch with two friends (one was pregnant) and while the food was solid, the service and attitude was lacking and defined by an off-putting ego. Consistent with the warning at the end of their menu on dietary warnings for pregnant women, we made sure before we were ordering to tell the waitress and ensure that all elements of what we were sharing was suitable for a pregnant woman(notably emphasizing a fully cooked stipulation). And sure hiccups can be made...but it was the accompanying attitude that was gross. The fish soup, served directly to my pregnant friend, had raw egg as an accompaniment and we had to inquire (with no apology or acknowledgement after). One of the fish mains we shared was also slightly on the raw side with noticeably pink striations; when we asked about this, the chef said it was cooked perfectly. But the point wasnt if the fish was cooked perfectly...but if it was cooked with the dietary restrictions confirmed in the beginning and as per noted in their menu itself. He mentioned that he could have cooked it longer but this was how it should be...and I responded that our question was not about if it was cooked perfectly but because of our initial concern. We received no apology or acknowledgement and he continued to speak amongst the other chef and waitress that it was perfectly cooked (not the point). I gave this restaurant three stars because the food was solid but (to me) this isnt enough... particularly in a saturated category of restaurants in Cambridge of a certain mid-high price point. I felt that there was a lack of flexibility.... almost a pervading fragile sense of ego that contributed to such. Just my experience edit: the owners response reaffirms my point...we were told by the waitress that the egg was raw when we double checked and initially made sure to emphasize that we wanted the fish fully cooked. But thank you for sharing that there are many people from different cultures that eat raw/cured fish when pregnant and responding!
Delicious fish - monkfish was yummy
This is the best fish restaurant i have been in a while. Delicious food, the oister was fantastic. Compliments to the chef and the service.
Great food, strange ambience, pricey. Can t fault the food. Weren t made to feel welcome, which I think is important with intimate dining at the pass. Hair dangling in the food whilst being prepped. The current experience doesn t warrant the price. With some refinements, including removing chipped crockery, sharper waiting and improved hosting, it could be a 5 star experience.
Great place for fresh sea food. We had the sea food platter and it was absolutely delicious
The food was excellent, freshly cooked and good choices. BUT the overwhelming smell of fish was slightly off putting, and the smell lingered on my clothes. Food
If you happen to be on the Mill road dont hesitate to give this place a chance. Mostly fish, of course, but everything comes with a twist. Dont miss the soup with croutons, unforgettable. The only thing about Fin Boys is that you may have to wait if you dont have a reservation.
Was surprised the Head Chef was also acting as Front-of-House Great dishes (a few did run out over time so I had back-ups in mind) e.g. the oysters with Fin Vin dressing or the eel on soba noodles! A glass of English sparkling rosé always helps I think at the tasting menu or guest chef events, theres more time to be interactive, especially if its someone like me dining solo...... Vegetarian options: There were side dishes but the thrust of the restaurant is fish but a few more would be great to balance out the protein!! Parking: I dont drive but the roads around are not suitable for heavy traffic. There are car parks 5-10min walk away
Tried ten course tasting menu, excellent choice, a couple of unusual cuts, but all prepared and presented very well. Good wine list
Superb fresh fish prepared with skill and imagination. We went for a birthday celebration and it was the absolute highlight. We will definitely be back as we havent eaten fish this good for a long time!
