Great steak, friendly service and very affordable prices

Service was brilliant from a young lady called Jess. Absolutely beautiful and helpful . The food was great. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Only down fall was the young Male bartender in his nose in direct view behind the bar removing hes peicing and picking and squeezing whatever was in his nose. Then not to wash has hands or remove the glove he was wearing. To then proceed to making customers drinks and dry glasses. Absolutely disgusting! I notify the manager on duty who seemed to say something to him . However he remained behind the bar with the same glove and unwashed hands. Was so unpleasant to see. I of course did not allow this youngster to make my drinks. I will be back as its a really nice place to eat!

I have been looking forward to this restaurant. It felt like it was a pre-made dish. The steak and grilled eggplant were served two minutes after ordering. The grilled eggplant tasted okay, but the steak did have a pre-made feel and tasted very average. Finally, the waiter asked about the dining experience. I said it was average, but I quickly refunded the service fee. The free ice cream at the end was pretty good, so I just came here to eat ice cream.

No starters and no desserts Very little choice of veg. My husband had t bone £55.00 He wasn t given a choice as to how he wanted it cooked.They always cook it medium rare and he likes medium to well done so it s too rare for him but he did eat it. No cooked tomatoes or mushrooms very disappointing for the money we paid ! Won t be going back.

We ate here for lunch. There are some interesting things here that I found pleasantly surprising. Firstly, there is only one steak, the Flat Iron steak, for 14 pounds, although it is a bit on the small side but the price is reasonable. I wish there cold be more expensive options for bigger cuts of meat, given that that wasn t filling enough for lunch. However, there is free popcorn served when you are waiting for your dishes, and the steak knife is a mini-cleaver. Moreover, when you have paid, the staff give you a mini-cleaver keychain that can actually be exchanged for free ice cream! I like that they charge 1.5.pounds to discourage you from putting sauce on the steak, as the steak is well flavoured naturally. Dietary restrictions: Waiters ask for allergens.

We had already quickly established Flat Iron as one of our favourite chains after eating at one of the London locations, and the Cambridge branch fully upheld that decision. Fantastic food at a great price, perfectly cooked and quick to arrive. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, giving us a heads up that our waiter was new to set expectations, but even then they did a brilliant job (shoutout to Ryan!). The popcorn and post-meal ice cream is always a treat. We once again left already feeling excited for our next Flat Iron visit!

Great place for quality but inexpensive steak. Some of the best sides I ve ever had, unlimited beef dripping popcorn and a free ice cream at the end. Good wine menu, what s not to love. Staff are friendly and efficient.

My 4th time at the Cambridge flat iron and every time I have come the service has always been amazing!I Like the small menu nice and simple. However the flat iron steak is good but nothing amazing, but for £14 you can t go wrong. I usually go for the specials on the board. One of my top Places to eat in Cambridge.

Just been here, and the girl on the door said the waiting time was 1 hour and 45 minutes! No queue at door, and we could see a lot of empty tables. Looks like they don t want customers. Food : 1/5

Very disappointing steak and sides sizing. Both left hungry. A lot of money for not a lot. Please provide steak knives as your a steak restaurant. Gimmicky blunt chopper was pathetic and wouldn t cut.

Great food, value for money and wonderful customer service. There was a mixup with the orders, to no fault of our server who was lovely, and Hugo was brilliant and made sure we got the right order and had some really nice talks with him. We also got half of the bill off due to the mixup, which was really kind of the chef and the servers.

Had a wonderful experience today in Flat Iron. Walked in and seated immediately. Greeted by a very friendly and helpful waiter who I believe was called Ash. The steak and the truffle burger were absolutely delicious and priced very reasonably I think for what you get. Free popcorn and ice cream too just to make it even better. Best meal out I ve had in quite a while

Some very nice food options and a good drinks selection, came on a Wednesday lunch time so didn t expect A-game service but felt a little sloppy even so (not just because the waiter was new). Prices are very reasonable and restaurant was clean and tidy. For a place that specialises in steak I was thoroughly underwhelmed by mine. Small, slightly chewy and lacking in flavour. Side dishes were small.

We went here before going to The Cambridge Corn Exchange to see Squeeze. The Wagyu on offer was Bavette which is absolutely amazing cooked medium. We also had creamed spinach, fries, macaroni cheese and the mash as sides. All were absolutely top notch. Would highly recommend the mash over anything else! For drink I had a Passionfruit Collins which was also very good!

I don t typically gush about meals I ve had, but I was genuinely blown away by my dinner at Flat Iron. From the drinks to the mains to the sides and ice cream, literally everything was perfection. I regret not having eaten here sooner, and I look forward to returning. The bone marrow mash alone is worth a trip!

Delicious, high-quality meat with a great aroma the food is a perfect 10. The meat is tender, with the fat melting in your mouth. The atmosphere is a bit crowded and noisy, and the service is slightly slow.

Worth the wait! We waited about 30 mins for our table to be ready. The service was great with my allergies, staff were very friendly and the food was amazing! Cooked beautifully. The price was very affordable, however, the main and sides are sold seperately. £14 for flat iron steak and £3.50 for soft drinks. I would definitely recommend! Its a shame theres only a few restaurants in the UK.

Really enjoyable dinner with great food and brilliant service from Oscar. The steaks are always perfectly cooked, and the sides are all amazing. The veggie option of aubergine is just as good quality and taste as the steaks - so no reason not to go! The soft serve on the way out if the perfect way to end dinner Vegetarian options: Aubergine parmagiana - fantastic!

Loved my meal there! Started with some popcorn, a great way to start the meal. The Wagyu steak I would highly recommend. Had it with sides of chips with peppercorn sauce and Mac & cheese. My partner had the regular steak which she enjoyed with mashed potato. The Pinot Noir wine was really nice with the meal too! Staff were really friendly and service was swift, not forgetting the bonus of free ice cream afterwards, tasted really good. Will be returning back on another trip to Cambridge.

Flat Iron always get it right. Been to one of their branches in London and thought I d give it another go while closer to home. A good simple menu with great steak, as always, at a very reasonable price. The sides here are out of this world, I d drive hours for that creamed spinach. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Free ice cream and pop corn always goes down a treat.

We had a lovely time here for my wifes birthday this lunchtime. We were very well looked after by Ash - impeccable hospitality.

The food was 10/10. Each side dish has their own beautiful flavours, that complemented the perfectly cooked steak. Ash, - our server was flawless, and informed us in detail, what the different steak cuts were, & how they come about. We finished with a gorgeous ice-cream as we walked out the door. Just had the most amazing evening at flat iron!! The manager lady who greeted us was so helpful and friendly, (sorry i didnt get her name) instantly made us feel soo welcome!!! Then we got our table and wow!!! We had the pleasure of meeting the amazing waiter JAY!!! His banter was unreal and he made our evening super special!!! The food was suberb and cooked to perfection!!! Such a lovely atmoshere!! I would highly recommend anyone to to come here!! Hopefully i get to see JAY again too!!!

I like my steak well done, and this usually means the chef gives you an old boot; not here. Good meat with a lovely crust of seasoning. Bit stingy with the sauces. Sides okay. Good cocktails.

Great place to have a well-cooked steak! Good customer service and clearly a company that is expanding, as they ve just opened their brand-new restaurant in Manchester too. The steaks are cooked very well and presented nicely. Not too expensive, but not on the lower end of the spectrum either. A good meal for two with a drink will easily come to £90. Worth the cost as the value is very good. #steak

I recently dined and was thoroughly disappointed, particularly with their highly anticipated wagyu steak. Despite the expectations, the steak was unchewable, though the taste was passable at best. The only redeeming part of the meal was the free ice cream, which was genuinely enjoyable. The service was good , but didnt make up for the poor quality of the main dish. On a positive note, the atmosphere and decoration were quite good, providing a pleasant dining environment. However, this alone isnt enough to warrant a recommendation.

We are regulars at Flat Iron in Covent Garden and just love the chain. Saw that they have a nicely decorated branch in Cambridge and decided to give it a try. We all took the Wagyu Picanha and enjoyed it - rare is the way to go! Friendly service, though they almost forgot our popcorn. Disappointed though that almost everywhere they have switched to the tasteless soft serve ice cream, prefer the salted caramel one at Covent Garden.

This is our go-to spot! The service is fantastic, the steak is always delicious, and the sides are to die for. The atmosphere is cozy, and the prices are unbeatable. Plus, the manager Gracia is so lovely!!!

The store is full of beef flavor, with special knives. The main character beef is a bit hard, not really firewood, average level, no big surprise.

Fake wagyu! Tiny portion! Awful experience. But at least they give you complimentary popcorn before meal to cover the dissapointed steak.

Amazing night and amazing staff. My partner had booked us a meal for my birthday on the Wednesday evening. The restaurant had to unfortunately close at short notice due to possible riots taking place that evening and them wanting to keep staff and customers safe. After speaking to them in just a normal way and not even complaining they offered us to come back and have a meal on the house which we couldn t believe. We re booked for the Friday evening that week. From the moment we arrived we were treated like complete vips. From Milla arranging it all for us and taking us to the table and ensuring we were ok through the night to Jay - USA our waiter being just amazing and explaining everything to us from the different steaks down to the sides and drinks. And a massive thanks to the general manager Gracia. The whole atmosphere and decor was just what I like modern with a quirky twist. Now the food was in my opinion absolutely amazing and one of my top 5 meals I have had to date. From the soft and tender steak to the beef dripping chips and the Mac and cheese was completely out of this world. Carl and Katie would like to say a massive thank you for making the evening so special for us and for a birthday meal I will never forget. Can t wait to come back again in the future and try something different.

Flat Iron had been recommended, but there are not many in my area. So when we got the chance we went to the one in Cambridge. Went for lunch on a Sunday. Firstly, we walked in at 11ish and the lady took our reservation for 4 at 1pm but without a name. Of course when we went back customers were queuing out the door but sure enough, she remembered us and we were taken to the table. Surprisingly brilliant. Ash looked after us at the table. His knowledge was amazing and service was fabulous. He made some really good recommendations and all of us loved our food. It was the loveliest steak meal we had eaten for a long, long time. Puddings were great too. Definitely recommend the restaurant, and there is a lovely treat at the end.. but I wont spoil the surprise. Thanks, Flat Iron and Ash.

Went there a couple days a go and it was amazing as always. Ash was really knowledgeable about the menu and different cuts of steaks and their textures, it helped me chose the steak I ll like.

The food was good, the stake was cooked nicely and the sides were tasty. The server helped us with the menu and gave us details of the cuts and the different stakes. The burger was the most tasty dish. Loved the chips. The knife/cleaver was good fun but it was very bland. Could do better job with a knife. Unless you order a few sides, the steak itself is not enough to fill your appetite. If you are really hungry, this is not the place for you. Simple choice steak menu, 4 cuts of meat, it should be easy, a couple of sides, and your home. A mug of beef dripping popcorn munch on whilst you are waiting. The maim arrive on a board a central stone so its hot and sizzling. Great side of tomato and onion salad with flavoured chips - magic. I added aubergine, tomato basil & mozzarella. Its certainly different, no starters limited mains, one desert, but these guys know their steak and produce a very good reasonably priced lunch. A different offering to Hawksmoor and the like, but in many ways better. I am a convert!

Really good food but the service was a bit of a let down really which was a bit of a shame as it left an atmosphere.

First time visiting Flat Iron at the proposal of a friend of mine and I only have great things to say about it! We ordered a Wagyu (crossbred) steak, flat iron steak, macaroni and cheese and also fries along with a coke and a passion fruit cocktail. Altogether it came to about £67 + tip. Although a little pricey for a regular meal out, the quality was fantastic! Oh and the service, my goodness the service! Absolutely wonderful all around! Jess was probably one of the best waitresses I ve ever had the pleasure of encountering anywhere. And by God if she isn t rewarded with at least a free passion fruit cocktail after this smfh All in all 10/10 and Vegantards beware

Amazing staff and food. Complementary popcorn and ice-cream. Ice cream is paid with the little cleaver token you receive from staff when you pay the bill.

We ordered to share, between 2 people. Portion is really small even if you ordered sides. Food was quick. We spend £50 and believe me is not a proper size to share.

I havent eaten steak for over ten years as its not really my thing but having a voucher to use I had no choice. Best meal I have ever had and will be going back. The steak was just amazing and cooked exactly how I asked it to be.

I had Flat Iron experience with my husband twice in London, but Cambridge is so cool! Kindly and helpful staff welcomed us with smiley faces. Meat of the day Picanha wagyu was perfect prepared, sides (creamy spinach, fries and crispy bone marrow garlic mash) too! Highly recommend for all meat lovers. Staff deserves for good pay raise.

Great atmosphere and service. Sirloin steak for two was pretty fatty. I d stick to their original flat iron steak on future. Nice sides, the mozzarella side dish tastes just like a pizza. It s my favourite thing on the menu.

Nice, welcoming and relaxing place. Food was amazing first time around. Steak was cooked to a great standard and great quality. Service was prompt and friendly. Would visit again for sure!

All three of us had a bad stomach after eating there. Bad service. It was impossible to distinguish between staff and guests as they did not wear work clothes. When we entered the restaurant, no one was interested in the fact that new guests were coming. After the drinks and the food were served, no one was interested in whether we needed anything else or wanted to drink anything else. Air conditioning was very cold, it was chilly.

Nice food, but serving 2/3 pint (380ml) draught beer with a large head in a glass that barely takes a 330ml bottle is stealing from customers.

I got the flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce and beef dripping chips. The steak is a decent size for the price. It was nicely cooked. The chips are probably some of the best that I ve had in the UK crispy and perfectly salted. The free ice cream at the end was a great bonus. You can tell it s high quality by how delicious and creamy it is.

After the death of some close relatives, and my dog, I thought my sadness would never expire. But then I ate at the Flat Iron. Everything about my experience here made my life better and worth living. Everything from the fresh popcorn they served to the small but exceptionally tasty and tender steak was perfect! Especially the life changing mashed potatoes. My depression is cured!

Steaks are tiny, I left more hungry than when I went in. Chips are drenched in nasty seed oil. Poor service from the indian waiter last week, asked me to pass him the glasses and plate! Who is serving who! On the bill there is a 12.5% service charge and a donation to charity which are automatically added to the bill. What a wasted opportunity.

Definitely worth a visit. I enjoyed every minute of being there. The only disappointment is the size of the steak. If youre an adult, youll definitely want something more than that. For two persons, weve ordered: 2 steaks, a portion of fries, mac and cheese, bone marrow mash, all the sauces and 4 beers. This amount of food was just enough for two of us to satisfy our hunger without feeling full. The cheque was around £70. My steak was medium well, very tender and delicious. All in all, every dish was delicious but each portion was tiny, which makes you want to order more. A very nice touch is a small portion of ice cream before you leave. Its free and exceptionally delicious! Bottom line: if I visit Flat Iron again, Ill definitley go for 2 steaks. Lets be honest: steak is the only reason why I came here, and the portion is too small for one person.

Love this place. I have never had a bad meal here. Flat iron steak is always beautifully cooked, and the sides are delicious.

We went as a group after work and enjoyed it. The steak and chips were lovely, I personally would have liked a slightly larger steak choice. Look forward to going again.

Had a lovely day out in Cambridge and went into flat iron have been in Covent Garden before was exactly same food sane lovely service very kind tentative staff was made to feel welcome with my mum would def recommend and will return perfect steak we really enjoyed

Absolutely love it here. Steaks are so tender and seasoned perfectly. And the sides are just amazing. In my top 3 for fries, theyre so crispy. The Mac n Cheese is perfect. Mash is also top notch. The ice cream at the end is great too, its delicious. A firm favourite.

Not much to say except they cook the steaks the way you ask for, and the sides are cooked wonderfully resulting in an excellent experience. No complaints here, second time to the franchise and certainly a fan.

Absolutely excellent food. Tender and juicy steak and great side options. Very friendly staff and fast service. And amazing to get a free soft serve ice cream at the end if the meal. Highly recommended.

I went there because of its reputation. Many Hong Kong people recommended it on the Internet, but the reputation was far from true! We ordered Wagyu and Signature, let s share and try them out. There is no major difference between the product and the photo on the outline, and the appearance will be received after delivery. When you hold it in front of you, there is no meaty aroma at all, and the food is very chewy. You need Zhao Haonai to swallow a piece first, but the meaty taste is light. I think it seems to be cooked using the slow method. My chickens are cooked to varying degrees but not much ginseng comes out! Everyone is very disappointed! !

Went for a date night with my partner. Food was amazing the quality of the steaks and the way they were cooked were incredible and the sides were delicious too. The biggest thing however was the service here. It was so refreshing to have this type of service in a restaurant in a day an age where it feels so hard to get that. Big compliments especially to Hugo who looked after us all night. Thank you so much

If you like steak, look no further. Their signature steak, the flat iron is excellent, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The side of bone marrow mash and truffle Mac and cheese where equally good. Excellent service with pop corn and ice cream on the house were an added bonus. Highly recommended.

Decent place.. Surely not the best steak I ever had, and I still havent figured out why its so viral right now. Food is good, but nothing extraordinary. Price is average, not too expensive.

What a lovely restaurant! The food is simply sublime, with myself and my brother having the cheese burger which tasted like heaven, and my family having steak, which I tried and tasted wonderful. The sides are lovely and the chips and cream spinach especially were delicious! The service was rapid and accustomed to our specific orders (Im a bit of a picky eater) and the drinks were also good too. The free popcorn offered is nice and cleverly makes us thirsty and drink more(although I have no problem with it), and the free ice cream is delicious, and suitable to have on the way out. would HIGHLY recommend to anyone around with some spare lunchtime and will happily go back for years!

As always, they keep the mark. Delicious meat. I decided to try the wagyu this time, turned out the branded regular tasted better. Not bad lemonade. A nice bonus in the form of popcorn and ice cream. Always happy to see restaurants that offer water. Cool interior, I would like to get on the 2nd floor, but alas closed. But all impression at the end spoils a little impudent service of the waitress, who on the one hand did everything right, but on the other intonation and style of communication causes dislike. I suggest you try the plain meat, butter sauce and baked aubergines and tomatoes on the side.

That is the best steak I ve had in Cambridge. Their stakes are not over priced unlike most places here, the chips, the Béarnaise sauce as recommended by them & the Malbec! Oh-my! Delicious!! Très bien

Ordered flat iron steaks and the mash, spinach and chips as sides. The steaks and mash were amazing. Price is very reasonable - two steaks, three sides and two cocktails came to a total of 60. The free ice cream at the end is always bonus. The service was mediocre, waited quite a bit to be seated as when we walked in no staff attended us. But the waitress serving our table did a good job explaining the menu. Overall decent experience.

I love flat iron, this isn t the first time I have been. I ve also been to a couple in London and have never had a bad experience. Really quick service, cocktails are tasty which is a bonus. Steak is always cooked to perfection and chips have always been piping hot. The popcorn to start and ice cream at the end is a really nice touch Parking: Only place to park is Grande Arcade car park, which is free after 6pm.

One of the best restaurants for a steak cooked well. Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, my waitress Betsy was super helpful and it couldn t have been a better meal to celebrate my birthday with. Amazing atmosphere and all of the sides are to die for. With the popcorn to start and a token to get a free ice cream at the end, it s a great experience the whole way through. I d recommend this place to anyone and will always come back! Thank you all :)

Delicious meal of steak, mash and spinach. Cooked perfectly, with excellent service and nice wine too. Absolutely faultless. And the free ice cream as we were leaving was a lovely surprise too!

Go here for an incredible steak. We all went for the flat iron and couldn t fault it. Probably the tenderest, tastiest steak I have ever had. The mashed potato is next level too!! On the way out don t forget to get your 10/10 free ice cream too. Thank you flat iron team for a fantastic family meal.

The steaks were cooked perfectly. However, the portion size of the wagyu intended for two was not enough. It would be great if they could serve larger portions to truly satisfy.

Perfect restaurant for date night. My partner and I ordered two flat iron steaks, crispy bone marrow garlic mash and truffle mac and cheese. One of the best steaks Ive tried. The service was impeccable. We had a lovely waiter named Hugo who was charming and looked after us very well. The atmosphere was pleasant and lively. Would definitely recommend.

Good value food. Steak was lovely. The only trouble was my sister found a hair in the Mashed potato. Staff were great though and dealt with it efficiently. They did offer to bring up a new dinner but as wed shared sides (and also because it would mean another wait) they took the sides from the bill. Service is included on the bill which is one of my pet hates. I like to choose how much service charge I pay. But all in all it was very nice and I would go again.

I came here on my birthday to treat myself, as I had been wanting to try Flat Iron for a while. While I was bummed that I couldn t make a reservation for one online, when I arrived they were able quickly find me a seat. I was first served their citrus infused water and beef fat popcorn, which was very good! I ordered the sirloin steak special, bone marrow and garlic mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach. It took maybe 15 minutes for the food to arrive. The steak was cooked beautifully and the sides were fantastic. My only criticism is that I wish the steak had been seasoned a bit more. The atmosphere in this restaurant was truly amazing though, the music was great and they weren t trying to be some pretentious steak house. They do what they know and they do it well! Vegetarian options: There are no vegetarian entrees, only sides. Dietary restrictions: It seems as though Flat Iron would be able to accommodate most dietary restrictions as their menu is relatively simple.
