If I could give this place no starts I would, deserves nothing but a minus!! DO NOT USE!!! Will overcharge and rob your change!! Went in with hen party. Barman must of thought he could take the mick when he saw a bunch of women walk in, and presumed we were all drunk, over charged us on our order and claimed I gave him different money to what I did. Was first time of the night I had used any cash and only took £20 s out with me so I know what money I had. Told drinks came to £32, I had 2 £20 s in my hand. Didn t inform me of how much total was, just took notes out of my hand without asking. Then gave £2.80 change, but claims it was a £20 and £10 note. So why have I got change!!?? Told by the manager we are a business and can t give out money, but then says the barman was being nice when he gave me change and was literally giving out money, according to them!! So be careful if you re female, coz these men will take the p out of you, highly doubt this is the first time, the whole staff there seem to have their little cover story, so it certainly won t the last either!!!!

Dont look at the website, there is no Peruvian food here. The menu offered was extremely basic (almost comically so). The drinks were expensive.

Beer and staff were okay. The whole place stinks of damp, wallpaper peeling from the walls and a nice solid layer of black mold above the door way. Place needs some proper attention to pull it out of the rut that its in.

Came for the tapas, got there to find the kitchen closed and an empty bar staffed by a grumpy roadman who can t pour a pint. Shame because this place was amazing a few years ago.

Charged £22 for 2 x double vodka and 2 x 50p cheap energy drinks. Would understand slightly if it was real red bull and not marked up 50p cans. Not one person in the place and can understand why. Avoid unless you like empty places and expensive drinks

Chicken is OK. Different and tasty but nothing like the original peruvian, so dont expect you will get that. Price is good value.

Do not get food here! Website is very misleading. After reading the online Peruvian menu, we turned up and were given a hand written menu which was completely different consisting mainly of just chicken. While the waiter/bar man was hospitable, the food itself was a huge disappointment. Our chicken was pink, bloody and slimy. Chips and sauces were nice, but the chicken put us off the rest of the food.

A total lack of respect,customer and service! Our experience didnt start well to say the least, Whilst leaning forward to try and see the selection of drinks in the fridge behind the bar I was told by the bar steward to not lean forward and get my greasy hands off his clean bar! great start I thought!! He then proceeds to disagree with my friend whom had ordered drinks telling him he was wrong and trying to get out of paying for a beer (when the drinks were on the bar in front of him!) He then went on to say he would check on cctv to see if we were being truthfull regarding our order (that was still in front of him!), my friend just paid to appease him, he then proceeds to tell us he doesnt need all this as he has worked a 93 hour week so far!! Also whilst being stood at the bar having a group conversation among ourselves he rudely chipped in and said we all had fat faces!! Well!! When was the last time he looked in the mirror one has to ask?! Also after having just the one swift drink we now realised why the place was empty! I mean who wouldnt want to go to an establishment where you get insulted upon arrival by a bar steward with all the customer service and social skills of Basil Fawlty and also made to feel as welcome as a fart in a crowded elevator?!! Well done that man!!! We obviously wont be wasting our hard earned money in this weird but well located Latino music playing establishment and certainly wouldnt advise any saine individuals to do so either!! As for my hands, they certainly were not greasy prior to touching his nice clean bar and after leaving leaving I soon washed them to make sure they were after either!! Well done bar steward

Drinks were expensive, only used plastic glasses. Never seen a Guinness in a plastic, I ordered a single JD it was put in a plastic pint and filled upto the top with Coca-Cola totally killing my drink! No toilet paper in any toilet including mens. Told the barman, went back 20 minutes later as we decided to cut our losses and leave. There was still no paper, again went to tell barman who rolled his eyes at me and handed me one toilet roll. Disappointing will not return in a hurry.

Beer taste great can tell the lines are cleaned regularly, ordered a tequila sunrise best one I ve ever had! Cleanliness of the place in a whole very good! Good banter and chat from Kieran will pop back solely just from meeting him!

Being latinoamerican and loving Latin music, there is no possible way I can deter you more from this place. Horrible mix of music, with no sequence and a lame atent of finding something decent. I will not get mi time wasted here back ever, not my money.

Great place to have a lot of good fun. I had opportunity to listen to live music during the Brazilian carnival. I was in The Emperor just once and I already have plenty of great memories. If you havent been there, now its a good time to visit it. I totally recommend this place.

Decent little pub with a nice selection of drinks and food. Friendly atmosphere and the staffs alright. The only problem i have is that the music can be a little bit too loud at times.

They have Latin music, reggaeton and salsa at night on weekends. Once dinner is over, they move the tables away and Voilà. Its great.

Awful treatment to the clients, high prices of food for bad quality. I used to love this place but since they have changed the employees is not worth it to go.

If you like to be ignored and made to feel unwelcome, then this is the restaurant for you. Was looking forward to trying The Emperors ceviche, but when we arrived at the restaurant, we were ignored for a good few minutes before being seated (restaurant was empty). The waiter seemed to not know what his job required and struggled to explain that the cook wasnt even on the premises even though the kitchen should have been open by then. He didnt even take a drinks order. We were told that it would be a 15-20 min wait before we could even order food. After some time, we eventually found out (from someone else working there) that it would be more like an hour wait so we decided to leave. They werent very apologetic. Have no desire to come back here and be ignored again.

We had high expectations coming to this place, the menu looks amazing and the place has 4.5 star review (I am assuming not for much longer)! We ended up being very disappointed! The person that worked the shift, took our drinks order and then never came back. He was behind the bar on his phone the whole time. There was only us and one more table with 3 people. I had to walk over to the bar to ask for our check. I also asked the gentleman, if there was no food being served tonight, since we were being ignored. He said No, we have food! And pointed at the menu Perhaps the owners should reconsider who they let serve their customers!

Very frustrating experience. Walked in and were seated pretty quickly, but after that we were ignored for about 30 minutes. Had planned on ordering a full meal but instead simply had ciders since the staff were more interested in checking their phone behind the bar. Walked down to an actual restaurant so we could get some dinner before everything closed. I don t ask for a lot when eating out but simply taking an order would ve been a great start.

The Emporer, last time I went there a few years back it was Spanish tapas style and pretty good. Tonight on the other hand... I honestly cannot remember a worse experience than we have had tonight. We booked a table for 4 and sat outside, the cocktails were OK but every single drink we ordered they came over with a card machine and made us pay upfront for everything. Rather than putting it on a bill as you would expect in a restaurant. It wasnt only us, they were doing this with all of the customers. The last time I ate here maybe a year or more ago it was Spanish tapas and the food was great. Now its a Peruvian menu, for a start its very limited, which would hopefully make you think that the food would be more carefully put together.. So very wrong. Before we even ordered our food we had a round of drinks and had to pay for it upfront. Then another waitress came back with one more cocktail and insisted that we hadnt paid for the last round which we had. We gave in and paid again for the first round, now looking back at the bank app which we did show them it proved that we had paid twice for our drinks. We stupidly stayed and ordered food, 4 adults. There was no vegetarian mains so I ordered a starter instead including egg and potato, the rest of the group ordered a mango salad starter, a chicken curry style dish with potato and a burger style thing with chips. After waiting for over 40 minutes they brought out the 2 mains, both cold and the chicken curry dish had an old boiled egg chopped in half and served instead of the potato. We tried to call the attention of the many members of staff but they just avoided eye contact for a while and when they did come over we asked why there was egg on the plate considering it wasnt listed on the menu, the potato was missing and it was cold. They just nodded and walked off. 30 minutes later they brought out the 2 starters. Mine consisted of half an old boiled egg, half a boiled potato and was covered in what I can only describe as happy shopper burger sauce with a lettuce leaf. Stone cold. The other mango salad starter consisted of about 5 chunks of tinned mango, a few slices of red onion and a lettuce leaf. Unfortunately for us they had already taken payment (and more) for the meal. We were not being rude in any way but the staff ignored us after serving and we looked around to see that other customers had also left all of their food on their plates uneaten. The place is an absolute disgrace and now I see why they were taking payments upfront, clearly because other customers have refused to pay for such awful food and service.

Very disappointed after poor experiences in Cambridge center pubs, found this very nice place on my way back to the hotel. Nice Latino party, enjoyed it.

Went here for food and stayed for the drinks/ dj Food is not very well reflected on their website. I even asked a waiter if they served certain things (as seen on the website) and she very openly said no ignore the website it s very out of date. The tapas and other food options displayed would have you think that it was a higher end restaurant during the day. Still a lovely place with very good cocktails. if you stay late enough all the tables get pushed back and the dancing begins. I had a great night out shame about the food

Looking for a cheap latino night in Cambridges nightlife wasteland. You have come to the right place. The food is moderately priced and tastes amazing, the staff is super nice, they have jugs of Sangria for £19, and g&ts for £5. If I havent convinced you yet, they start playing music after 10pm and the venue turns into a dance floor for the rest of the night.

Horrific. Too expensive, too busy for a tiny venue, terrible music, meat head bouncers, packed with insecure cambridge students desperate to feel like theyre current and relevant. Id not been here for years and the last time I visited it was one of the great british public houses of our ancient city that out culture is famous for. Now it had descended into ranks of the same generic, gray meat market hovels you can find ten a penny in cambridge.

They no longer do cocktails, and the food has gone seriously downhill since I last visited...

Regular pub with Latin reggaeton music. Quite small and can be a little frustrating with just 40-50 people. Drinks price not too bad.

Where do I start? Sangria was watery and tasteless, (who puts cucumber in a sangria??!) Food felt like rations from WWII, they were tasteless, oily and with no flavour. There was meat I wouldnt even give to my dog. From all the dishes we had we only finished 1. It can be a good place for drinks but if you have such an extensive menu a bit of quality is expected.

My husband and i had a lovely tapas today ! The food was nice and hot and the presentation was very good ! We was greeted warmly by Raquel who was very attentive whilst also trying to deal with a very awkward customer ! Well worth a visit !
