went there on my girlfriend's birthday. the service was ok and i could actually hear her speak. the food, however, was deflating low quality, low diversity and really something that i could cook in 10 min of prep at home. mind you, i can barely cook. i think the location is great, but would recommend changing the chef.
Came here with my grandad on his wheelchair and the staff were very attentive to our needs. Every dish was so tasty (No tapas pics because we scoffed it all) especially the calamares, roast pork, croquetas and chorizo. We also got the 2 person seafood paella and was surprised at how filling it was.
An authentic gateway to a Spanish Tapas restaurant. Tu casa is a relaxed and a bustling atmosphere with good vibes. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting to hit their Spanish pallets. Had the Gambas Ajilio and Paella Negra. One of the best paella have had so far! Would come again for sure. Keep up the great work! Much as Gracias 🫶🏻
Very nice, cosy independent Tapas restaurant. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was lovely inside. Food is a little bit more pricey (as expected from most places in Cambridge) but delicious! Good range of tapas and a small selection of Paella as well. We also got the jug of Sangria which served 3 of us very well. Spent about £30 each in total.
Lovely restaurant with good food and a friendly service. The only thing was the salad would be better with fresh green leaves instead of iceberg lettuce. But other than that the food was very tasty!
Enjoyed a really enjoyable meal here, enhanced by the jug of sangria! I went for the goats cheese, prawns and Spanish tortilla as my contribution to the tapas and the goat cheese was my favourite. My friends enjoyed the dishes they ordered including the meat ones. For pudding, I opted for the Grandma's cake and absolutely loved it. We came here as a group and booked ahead, which would recommend.
The best, proper and authentic Spanish tapas restaurant in Cambridge. Every single dishes taste amazing, all seafoods are fresh and jamon is hand cut and prepared soon as you order. Paella negra tastes just how it should be, I was so full but couldn’t stop eating it. All foods was full of flavour and great matching with sangria too which also taste fantastic. Service was brilliant too, lots of Spanish working and they were all nice and friendly, kept checking on us and make sure everything is okay. It was bit pricey at the end but 100% worth it and would definitely come back any time soon.
A regular place of ours for good tapas. When we went early evening the restaurant was empty but filled up pretty quickly. Service is always good and the food is served insanely quick every time we have been here. The anchovies and gambas are our regular tapas and were delicious as always. We tried the calamari this time and were pleasantly surprised as it was fresh and had a good flavour. Also new to try was the ox tail which was a surprisingly huge portion and just melt off the bone good. Finished off with the chocolate custard cake which was ok.
Amazing little place
We came to visit our daughter, she took us to this restaurant of Spanish cuisine, located not far from the center. We were pleasantly surprised: the atmosphere is so calm and cozy, which made our visit more pleasant, after a long journey it is what you need. The employees, realizing that we had never tasted Spanish cuisine, happily and kindly told and explained everything. We were very pleased with the food and wine we ordered based on their recommendations. The dishes were really tasty and filling. The only thing we regret is that we did not manage to try all the dishes from the menu.
This place is great! I was here recently with my family, we all enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant. The owners did everything possible to make the customers comfortable and cozy. The employees are very friendly and always smile, and will gladly answer any question and help you choose. The food is simply magical, very tasty. Every dish is prepared according to the original recipe from Spain. It is clear that the chefs put a piece of their soul into each dish. Food was served in stages - first tapas, then paella. We enjoyed every dish, even when we were full we could not leave a piece on the plate.
Great place, great food, great service. Thanks for a perfect evening
Best Tapas in Cambridge. Lovely service, super fast, the prawns are excellent.
Love this place
I have had the pleasure to dine here on several occasions and the food has always been spot on The tapas dishes are all 10/10 and the paellas are great. The stand out dishes were the pork/beef meatballs, garlic prawns and mushroom crouquettas. I would recommend coming with 3/4 people so you can try many dishes! There is also a good selection of wine options.
Very good food and service. We will return.
Just been for our first time, food and staff were excellent. Will come back.
Just wow. Just got some seafood and it was magnificent.
Food was great however shame about the staff. They were not friendly, no s iles and no humour. The man who seemed to be the manager/boss was gloomy and arrogant. WE ordered creme brulee and it was just water underneath the crystalized sugar. We asked and said this doesnt seem right. Their answer was it is freshly made so not set but thats how it is... no offer to change nor an apology, just kept stating the fact that it is fresh! We demanded a change in the end but there was no apology for the runny creme brulee at all. Also very pricey, 4 of us came to 280 pounds which i found to be rather high. I dont think i wld come back nor recommend it only because of the service there. Appalling....
Pork tenderloin a bit overcooked but a lovely grilled flavour and a sauce equally yummy so I would order again. The chickpea and squid was a good dish, nice with bread, squid perfectly cooked. Patatas bravas very nice, sauce could do with a bit more kick but I hear most people find it too spicy so I guess they cant win. Mushroom balls very creamy. Octopus well cooked, a little slimy but a good flavour. Nice atmosphere, would come again for drinks and tapas.
Its overpriced. For this reason I would like better quality bread probably for the price I pay, and also quantity of it.. Food isnt bad but if you frequently visit Spain, you will be surprised with the price. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere though!
Good reasonably priced food with friendly service
Prices are quite high but as soon as you eat the food you will feel like you are back in Barcelona. Extremely authentic and great atmosphere.
Excellent FOOD AND BEER, friendly staff, parking close by, they speak English, Italian, Spanish and Russian. Perfect evening.
Excellent food enjoyed by adults and children alike. Very nice place, very welcoming and well-kept. Beautiful atmosphere. We will return with pleasure.
My favourite restaurant in town for quality and service. It is always nice to go back.
Amazing
Went on a date in the early evening. Very nice atmosphere inside, and good service. A good range of options, slightly limited for vegetarians - all delicious, and a great variety. The price overall is on the higher end. Overall, a great place for an evening date night! Parking: Parking on Mill Road is quite difficult to find, and also difficult to find on the side streets as it is prioritised for residents.
Fast and friendly service but a big disappointment on food. Paella was very salty and bland. Nothing special. Scallops were decent. Definitely not worth the price, especially the £30 for that paella.
Lovely food and very good service. Will come again!
It was a pleasant family reunion, the service and the food was up to the occasion. Very good Food
Very nice Spanish restaurant! I have really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food was decent. Its not the best spanish food I have had for sure, but its definitely the best in town, and its worth a visit if you fancy some tapas and paella! Only negative side, its a bit overpriced for the food you get. But thats not an uncommon thing in Cambridge!
Excellent service, tasty food and amazing atmosphere! All members of staff were very friendly and attentive, our orders were served promptly and they were all delicious. The restaurant was not crowded, we could have a nice chat over dinner and there was authentic music in the background. I particularly liked the Spanish apple cider they serve!
Albondigas and goat cheese salad to die for... wine and calamari made my night
We shared four Tapas dishes which we found sufficient for two. Would advise booking.
Tasty but slightly on the pricey side for tapas
A lovely tapas restaurant not the most varied menu but that was good in a way because its not too overwhelming staff were very helpful and food was well cooked. Vegetarian options: There were a few vegetarian options Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is all on one level
Excellent food and very nice service. Baby scallops (Zamburiñas) tapas were amazing Food
Great little tapas place, good veggie options.
The place is essential. The service is fast and attentive. The paella we ordered looked very good but unfortunately it was very salty. Furthermore, the test of ingredients were not mixed together. The other dishes ordered were normal. The price is not cheap.
Lovely authentic Spanish restaurant serving very tasty tapas. Very friendly staff, would recommend!
This is the first time we had been to tu casa, but it definitely will not be the last, amazing food (best calamari I ve had outside of Spain)!! relaxed atmosphere, fantastic sangria & lovely relaxed service, a real must for any Spanish food lover!! See you again soon!!
Recommended, good quality tapas
Food is lovely, never had a bad dish here. The jugs of sangria are huge! Definitely recommend. Staff are friendly and helpful!
All good except the large barrel with a bottle of sanitizer and a sign telling you to sanitize your hands blocking your way in. Get over it and bin it off Food
Nice food, nice waiting staff, nice atmosphere and décor. My partner thought it was overpriced. It might have been, but we would both definitely go back there again.
Very good food and good quantity. Great attention. We really liked the cider chorizo and the scrambled eggs with chorizo as well. And the rice pudding!
Really nice food and wine. Would recommend.
Great authentic Spanish food on the edge of Cambridge city centre. Nice take on a typical tapas menu. Excellent paella negra. Lovely attentive staff.
Good attention. Very friendly. Good food. Fast service. Nice place. You dont need a reservation to dine like most restaurants in the area. See you soon
Site designed for Spaniards, not to fool tourists. Authentic, rich, good service. Highly recommended
This was a great experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the portion sizes were generous - particularly the paella. The drinks were also nice, and I found this place to be very reasonably priced.
First time visit that was booked in advance for a group of three, we ordered a paella that only took half an hour to be served. Couldn t fault the food or the service and the atmosphere of the place is great. Only negative comment would be the glasses of wine are over priced. Will visit again in future Parking: Used park side car park that is less than 5 minutes stroll from the restaurant
We had a paella and it was very delicious. 5 stars for the paella!
Great food and nice, friendly staff. Prompt service with a shortish list of classic tapas dishes
Average....... Apart from the chorizo croquettes and the wine. Overall food was rushed, big let down in terms of service and quality. Not for me and wouldnt recommend.
Lovely place with authentic food. We love this restaurant.
Great food Dietary restrictions: Gluten free food. Food : 5/5 |
Good value of money and the food is amazing - one of the best tapas restaurants in the UK! The seafood is good, I love the ham a lot!!!
A wonderful small authentic Spanish restaurant. It was our third visit and the paella was just as good as our first visit. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff what more can you ask for.
Best tapas I ve ever had. Great service, friendly welcome and the food was stunning.
Authentic Spanish food is like be at home. We order sangria, chicken paella, black paella, croquettes, bravas Tus casa is the perfect place to enjoy our gastronomy I am Spanish and for sure I will back and it is the perfect recommendation for everyone.
Great food but you need to book!
Didnt work as Tapas. The best dish was ham egg and chips... which was a meal on its own. The clams are a waste of a dish.
Wonderful tapas and great service, food quality is high as are the qualities of the staff. Highly recommend!
Authentic Spanish tapas! The food is amazing, the vibe feels like I m in Spain!! The food is prepared very quickly, so if you re wanting to make an evening of the meal I d recommend staggering order of dishes.
What a lovely gem of a place, went on a Sunday evening and the atmosphere was still great! Service was fantastic and informative, food was lovely quality and Sangria went down well. Would highly recommend if youre in Cambridge and fancy paella or tapas! Many thanks Tu Casa team.
Lovely staff and fantastic food. Will definitely return! Thank you
Love the atmosphere/environment /food quality.
Good food and really nice service.
Mostly very good food, but a few details I wasnt a fan of. Maybe because we didnt go for the standard dishes. Chorizo a la sidra was very good though, also the croquettas. Great service, good drinks menu, lovely atmosphere and clearly popular, we were lucky to get a table on a Sunday evening so booking advised.
Had our 35th wedding anniversary meal here with family. Everyone really enjoyed their food. Its tapas style, so you order 2 or 3 dishes each to share. I had the baby scallops with a vegetable Pisto. Also ordered an additional calamari after tasting my son-in-laws. Staff were friendly and the service was very quick. Will visit again when we come back to Cambridge.
Lovely fresh food, great flavours.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and best Sangria
Outstanding food & friendly service, I m coming back!
Really buzzing on a Tuesday evening. Great food and very attentive service! Our group of eight were all really impressed with the food. Good value too!
Disappointingly bland food .I had the patatas bravas which didn t have a pinch of spice or heat in the sauce, just a bland tomato sauce Also had the garlic prawns which I think they forgot to add the garlic or any sort of flavour to the dish. When I ve mentioned this to waitress she shrugged her shoulders and I was told the food is cooked for English people (therefore should have no flavour I wonder) The place it s nice and clean but I Won t be back
Very friendly service and wonderful Spanish food at this lovely spot on Mill Road. A huge variety of tapas to choose from covering all the classic dishes. A real highlight was the paella negra. Highly recommended.
Really nice unassuming restaurant in Mill road.
Great place to eat. Fantastic food & service.
Fantastic food and very friendly service. Cant believe Id not been before.
a fine Tapas restaurant ... independent which is rare enough in Cambridge
Friendly people and delicious paella, attentive service - an excellent combination. And thanks for keeping my bag safe for me!
Great food, lovely team. Couldnt have picked a better spot to refuel after a long ride from London!
A lovely authentic Spanish tapas restaurant. Food was delicious, great atmosphere and fantastic service. Highly recommended.
Great food! Would recommend the mushroom croquetas
If I could give more stars I would Fabulous food, great service and a warm welcome. The solomillo de cerdo was superb. We will definitely be back Food
The restaurant not informed how much the charge for the services.Regards to the menu we should pay £35 but the bill was £54 is to much for the services.I would be understanding 10 people on the table but no 2. Never again and next time looks like we have to ask all restaurant how much the charge additional.
This place is amazing! All the tapas that we had were super tasty! Definitely going back!
The space in the store is not too big, there are not many seats, and there are many people making reservations! Its a very cozy shop. The boss and waiters are very enthusiastic and patiently introduce the dishes. They also remind you to order these to try first and you can add more later. Each table will order red wine and beer (each person has a glass). The meals were delicious. We ordered the classic Spanish dish of baked eggs, as well as pizza, mussels, bread, pasta, etc., and they were all very delicious, without any surprises! And there was no time to take photos, so the meal was sold instantly! Highly recommended, It s worth visiting. The streets nearby are also beautiful. If you don t have a seat, you can make a reservation first and take photos nearby. There is also a supermarket next door where you can browse first and then come back to eat!
Nice authentic Spanish food and good atmosphere however they are charging VAT on an optional service charge ! This is wrong (I checked with HMRC) - please fix this issue ! It should be zero rated !! (See a good example below)
My experience was great. The food was good, and everything came in a good time. I would recommend
Pro: - seafood are super fresh - attentive staff Con: - too salty to our tastes (didn t order drinks) - slightly overpriced (squid ink paella min 2 people portion = £27 excluding service charge)
Such a great restaurant. Like a little piece of Spain and always full of Spanish people which is a great sign!!! Never had a bad meal here and they have an excellent wine list too. Service very efficient and friendly.
Staff lovely, food exceptional. Felt at home, passed the vibe check
Have come a few times and will keep coming. Delicious food, wine, and amazing service.
Very decent Spanish food in Cambridge(I m a Spaniard) I was taken by the customer and was really surprised to find such a nice place catering typical tapas (at least what we ordered)
Very delicious!! Friendly staff. Best paella in town.
Had a great experience at Tu Casa. We ordered several tapas to split between 3 people and we were not disappointed! Lots of flavour and variety. The pitcher of sangria was also delicious. Would highly recommend the almond cake for dessert. We had great service; kind, quick and efficient. Prices arent overly expensive but can add up if you want a taste of everything! Will definitely come again
Its quite expensive, but the 2 tapas I had and the white wine were very good
most amazing food and service! the loveliest staff and a delicious range of well priced food. will recommend to everyone!
A large variety of Spanish tapas. It was tasty.
Nice food and good service
Lovely little tapas restaurant. Great choices and staff very welcoming
The food was okay, but the price is unjustified. If this was a cheap Spanish bistro, it might be a good choice, but at the price level it cannot compete with the other options in town. The food mostly just comes across as uninspired (seafood options), but in some cases borders on freezer aisle quality (bread, croquetas, and patatas bravas). The sangria was so sweet it was hardly drinkable. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Had an amazing meal with great service at this intimate tapas place. Big, big shoutout to the people running it. Every person that took care of our order was cheerful, helpful and more importantly- masked. Even though my partner didn t like one of his tapas dishes(pork tenderloin), not only has he offered a second, replacement order- it was also taken off our bill without any prompts. Pork and beef meatballs were excellent as were the prawns. The calamari and mushroom croquettes were also quite good. Servers recommended wonderful wine pairings and were attentive without being intrusive. Would recommend highly!
Excellent jamon and the black paella is delicious. Great experience
Good selection of tapas to choose from. Really loved the omelette.
Friendly staff and good service. The food was also very good.
Delicious and nice
Lovely little restaurant with really great, friendly service and good food. The restaurant is quite small but has a great atmosphere, perfect for smaller parties or dates. The service is attentive and friendly, with great knowledge of the foods and wine. The food is pretty good. Some dishes were a bit too salty though, but overall very good. Comes at a price though, so be prepared to pay for it!
Small restaurant with calming minimalist decor. Service was friendly and personal, despite staff being very busy. Menu looked interesting. Food was variable. The calamari was very salty, the tortilla was filling but a little uninteresting, croquettas were OK but not outstanding, while the oxtail was reasonably good.
Great food, great service. Give it go.
Very delicious!!
Delicious food
Good spanish tapas and tasty paella, unfortunately the dessert (crème brûlée) was very disappointing and undercooked:(
Vegetarian options: Was amazing l love it
Horrible service
Absolutely brilliant! Tapas and paella were delicious, and the staff super nice and helpful. Great dinner!
What an amazing meal. Service was prompt and thorough with an eye on informing us of the details of our chosen dishes. We didnt manage to catch her name but the waitress who served us on the evening of 4th August was simply wonderful and could not have been more attentive. Food ranked well above all tapas restaurants we have visited previous to this and we can only thank you for your hospitality- worth every penny. We hope to eat here again soon.
Ive been here twice now and both times the food has been delicious. Ive had two different types of paella now, tried some of their tortillas and other tapas and its all been out of this world. Staff are super friendly and the restaurant had a really nice homely feel to it. Id recommend booking as there are a limited amount of tables and it does get quite busy.
Visited here last week and was sadly Really disappointed. After reading such great reviews we were excited to visit this restaurant while staying in Cambridge. Tried to order a paella with our tapas and was told it would be to much we said it was fine that we were happy to with this as wanted to try it, the staff member then got another staff member to come and tell us the same thing. This then just made it awkward to try and order as we kept asking and kept getting told no. We ordered the meatballs, they came out cold, we had these sent back and they came back out clearly from the microwave with the sauce then burnt around the edges of the plate. Spanish omelette we did not enjoy at all. We then thought we would have a dessert, we order a creme brûlée to share, it was awful, not set at all and was just water. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed and would not return
Helpful staff,clean and nice food.
Living next to this restaurant makes my life in the UK much happier!
Amazing tapas, friendly service and great atmosphere. Had a perfect evening!
Delicious food, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to try this place but you have to book as it is very popular.
Only eaten there once but the food was good, wine good, and service excellent
Booked for our anniversary. Lovely place, lots of choice of tapas. Very relaxed, lively and informal setting. Most of the menu was gluten free and even have a gluten free beer.
Went for a meal for two on a Saturday evening. Atmosphere is really friendly and fun. Food and wine delicious! I recommend the scallops.
We had the sea food paella, it was really good. The staff was friendly and the service was great. Weve really enjoyed our meal!
Best tapas in the UK at a very reasonable price, with an authentic Spanish atmosphere and friendly staff.
We eat here religiously, best tapas in Cambridge, very speedy service. We get the prawns, mushroom croquettes, patatas bravas, and octopus. Creme brûlée dessert is delicious too!
Charming little tapas restaurant. Stress-free and friendly. The paella negra tastes good. Savory but not too salty. Rice is plump and al dente. I can finish the whole pan if I don t think about carbs. The downside there are only small pieces of calamari inside. The mushroom croquettes are lovely. Creamy but not heavy at all. There s even a hint of truffle flavor. I ate three of them :P The scallops may be slightly undercooked. Generously seasoned with salt, they taste good initially with some natural sweetness but feels a bit cold and too tender in the center. Also as the last one keeps sitting there while the two of us are being polite, it turns a little fishy. Maybe next time we ll skip the paella to save room for some different dishes. The restaurant appears quite busy on Sunday evenings so make reservations!
Brilliant little restaurant from the food to the service highly recommended.
Good service and location, the tapas (but the patatas bravas) we had were great but paella was too salty (and not proper Valenciana as they said but the waitress didnt quite know, should have asked the friendly owner perhaps). Sangria barely saw any wine, jug was big but expensive for some soda and fruit (and they didnt give us anything to stir it, had to use our spoon (I know, we could have asked :) )
Independent authentic tapas restaurant. Really good food and friendly atmosphere. Vegetarian and vegan options.
The portions are quite nice, excellent service and at a good price. The padrón peppers were delicious as was salmorejo. Definitely worth going and repeating! Update: second time we go and everything is perfect, they make you feel at home
Food was brilliant and fairly priced, wine was stunning and all service was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for authentic Spanish cuisine in Cambridge.
Small Spanish tapas restaurant with good service. Pimientos de Padron were excellent, however garlic prawns were too oily. Overall experience was positive.
Great place, great food
Excellent meal, very busy, will book next time. Lovely paella
Such a great restaurant. We stumble across this place. We had no reservation, but the staff made room for us. Cute place with, a great atmosphere, very friendly staff, and of course mouth-watering food! Will definitely come back!
I ate here last night with family for the first time and cannot fault a thing. The food, service and ambience was fantastic. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food was amazing, cannot fault a dish (and we tried almost all of them!)
We left very happy. We loved the food, the tapas were very good. I recommend booking a table.
Great food, really friendly staff
The Spanish seafood risotto is huge! tasty The side dishes are also delicious ~ worth trying
First visit here earlier in the year would have been 3-4 stars. But recent visit didnt match up. Every dish we ordered was at best so-so. Vegetable Paella was nothing like a paella, just a dry, under seasoned tasteless mix of veg and rice. Patatas Bravas was ostensibly cubed chips with 2 pots of sauce on the side. Octopus rubbery and odd tasting. One bottle of house wine and enough dishes for 3 people to feel adequately full £100. Sadly could not recommend.
Great food (prawn & clams were a highlight) and friendly staff.
A meal for 4 was a culinary delight . The staff were very attentive and each different tapas was excellent . 10/10
Amazing meal, tapas is authentic and delicious. The service is also amazing. If you are in Cambridge you must go here. I reccomend the seafood paella
Delicious, authentic tapas
A little pricey but very good food and service
This is a gem of a restaurant. The food is full of taste and flavours, the portions are generous, the prices affordable and the staff very nice. Being able to observe a pata negra ham being skillfully cut and prepared once ordered adds to the experience. My partners grandparents are Spanish and she was delighted to find a place making tortillas tasting the same as her grandmas. Definitely recommend to anyone that enjoys quality Spanish cuisine.
Busy restaurant, its best to book a table. This restaurant serves very tasty traditional Spanish cuisine. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
Liked it. Nice atmosphere. Decent prices. Worth a try.
What a gem this place is. Great food, magnificent service and overall great evening for our friends birthday. We travelled from Norwich for the weekend and this was a great way to start it.
Sooo tempting, spent too much money
Delicious food and excellent service!
Very nice home. Great quality food. A lot of choices. Restaurant to recommend.
Really enjoyable tapas.
Lovely tapas and really nice staff. Highly recommended.
What a find, food, service, wine were all fantastic and the carved ham just to die for. Cant wait to go back the next time we visit Cambridge.
Spectacular!, A piece of Spain in Cambridge. We tried the chicken and vegetables paella, the sangria and the chorizos. Everything was just right and the service was excellent. Even though we arrived early they were quite accommodating and allow us to come in. The location is near Parker piece and walking distance from downtown. I would definitely recommend this place.
