I wanted to share my disappointment following a recent meal at The House. For a group of three, we ordered the vegetarian set menu for two and an additional prawn pad Thai for the third person. Unfortunately, both the prawn pad Thai and vegetarian pad Thai were overwhelmed with tamarind sauce, making them inedible. We raised our concerns with the waitress, who involved the chef. While the chef listened to our feedback and took the dishes back to the kitchen, there was no offer of alternative dishes. When it came time to settle the bill, three members of staff confronted us, insisting we pay for both pad Thais despite our complaints. They refused to address our concerns, and no manager was present to escalate the issue. At one point, a staff member raised their voice and was notably rude. At a minimum, an apology or an offer to replace the dishes would have been appreciated, but instead, we were left with no resolution and had to pay in full. The rest of the meal was mediocre, and the service was unacceptably slow. We even requested water and never received it throughout the meal. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I would not recommend dining at The House.
Great Value lunch menu, Pad Thai was excellent & they were happy to substitute Thai Basil for Red Chillies as my digestive tract is a bit sensitive. 😇 Freshly cooked, fresh ingredients & delicious.
The Thai House Authentic Thai Cuisine delivers a true taste of Thailand with its vibrant flavors and aromatic dishes. The menu features a wide array of classic favorites, from pad thai to green curry, all prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic spices. The warm, inviting atmosphere adds to the dining experience, making it a fantastic spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The friendly staff and prompt service only enhance the experience. It's a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Thai food!
Food is good. Taste and texture is all there. Nothing to complain about. If you saw my review, bring cash to dine into this restaurant. There will be a 10% discount.
- Taste overall 8/10 Pad Krapow moo sub(ground pork Thai basil) 9/10 Mango sticky rice 7/10 - Authenticity pad Krapow 7/10 with some time extra ingredient like mushroom and the Thai fried egg is supposed to come with chili-fish sauce(พริกน้ำปลา หรือแมกกี้) Mango sitcky rice 7.5/10 the ice cream on the side is interesting - Service 9/10 Cleanness 10/10 - Portion with the price 5.5/10 Main dish 7.5/10 Dessert 4/10 extra mentioned chili fish sauce for .99£ - Vibe 7.5/10 Thai staff members with good restaurant vibe but not so Thai. The background music, as an example, is not Thai
Probably the best Thai restaurant in cambridge by far, far better than the one I reviewed before this one (It right below this one, way below! => Thaikhun) Everything we ordered was amazing, tastes like authentic Thai food. Highly recommended.
The spicy seafood noodle arrives with a hint of Barbie pink. The sweetsourness is quite refreshing for the rare summer day, though not spicy enough and a little too sweet toward the end. The seafood and tofu taste good. My friend’s fried pork rice looks nice but ends up a little too oily. The mango sticky rice is also good. Somehow this place has been out of radar. Friendly staff. Lunch menu is particularly of great value. I might come back and try the pad Thai and other dishes.
This Thai restaurant definitely sold me because of the pictures they had of their Thai drinks and food up on display by the window which was ravishing. First time trying Thai iced tea. It was nice but rather too sweet. Not sure if it’s meant to be that sweet, but either way, it served as a good cold drink to have to cool my tongue down from the spiciness of the food. Ordered the prawn toast and pad kra pao moo sub, a minced pork dish served with jasmine rice and fried egg. Prawn roast was nice and crunchy. The rice dish was insanely spicy for me. Quite flavourful. I got the rice dish as it looked like they had a lunchtime deal where it was £11.95. But when it came to the bill, I had to pay full price which was odd. Good experience overall and the waiter was really welcoming and lovely. Managed to get 10% off my bill if I paid via bank transfer which was generous of them.
Very Bad service
Yummy and good service.
Seafood laksa was delicious !
My first time up in Cambridge, came across this place by chance and I m so glad I did. The food was better than I anticipated, the atmosphere and service created a welcoming environment and the staff were very friendly and prompt.
The fried crispy beef was not fresh and was in heavy salty soup, my stomach feels bad after eating, and we spent over 30 pounds each person, felt disappointed !
The restaurant added 10% service charge that was marked as discretionary gratuity in our final bill without informing us beforehand (which they admitted when I asked them after) and refused to take it off. I will be living here for years, and my friends and I eat out a lot, so I guess they just lost some repeat customers.
We ordered 4 dishes but they only gave us two. The service attitude is quite bad.
I have gotten takeaway from here a few times. I am partial to the pad Thai although it is a tad too sweet. Apart from that I think it s beautifully nutty, flavoring and comforting!
Great food at reasonable price. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend!
Great food, authentic Thai cooking.
Fab food, expensive beer. Pay cash for 10%
The food is not halal. My friend and I asked at the restaurant, and the receptionist said it was and even offered a student discount. Later, I returned to really double-check, and another lady confirmed it wasnt halal. Don t fall for their lie!
Service was bad: - We saw the staff cleaning the table next to us with the used tissues left over from the couple that had dined there. Just with those tissues. - After eating my starter, the waitress grabbed my fork from the plate and put it on the table for me to use for my main as well. (I may have done that anyway, but it was surprising that the waitress just decided that for me.) - Found a hair in my food. Complained about it gently and received a fresh dish. Beware - photos on the menu dont always match the food served. Taste of food was not spectacular.
An apt little spot to have a quick bite in, especially during lunch hours (from around 12 to 15), when prices are reduced on an ample, generously portioned selection of dishes (which end up being from around £9 to £15). The dishes themselves can be a bit hit or miss (to my taste, a lot of the curries are unusually thin and mild, and after having read the glowing reviews, I was disappointed to find I didnt agree that the pineapple rice is all that much more flavourful, either; their take on the pad thai is definitely among the nicer examples of the dish Ive had, though, and the pad kee mao and panang are decent picks, too). The ambiance is a little more reminiscent of a bistro than a restaurant (with simple, cosy decor and dinky sets of tables and chairs) and the service fitting (almost always incredibly quick, efficient and relaxed, even during lunch rushes).
Went in for lunch. Had a excellent pad Thai and my partner had one of the best Panang we have ever tasted! Thai ice tea was delicious. Alcohol very expensive. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely return for more delicious food!! Food
This place was open. I walked in at 9 PM, and they refused service saying they only did takeout. It seemed nice enough, but I think the workers just had a bad and lazy attitude. Empty on a weekend night!? I guess that says something.
Wonderful food and lively atmosphere...
I ordered one portion of seafood curry and one portion of jasmine rice. The rice was delicious, the portions are quite generous so much that we shared between two adults. But the curry was very bland, nothing really special, watery. The seafood is not fresh. And very chewy. Not worth the price I ended up paying £32. Ordered it, through deliveroo.
Authentic Thai food located at Regent Street, Cambridge. Recommend for family and friends gathering. Pad Thai or golden parcels is perfect match. Food : 4/5
I ordered vegetal pad Thai. It was too salty. The waiters were rude to their customer. They asked customers to pay through cash or bank transfer. They add 10% tips without asking. They don t help with charging low battery phone. Very disappointed and I regretted that I ate there. I would not recommend any body eat there.
So much food. We ordered way too much. It was all delicious
Staff are very impolite and rude. They do not care and rush the family with kids. Food was ok but the service was horrible. Not coming back ever again Kid-friendliness: Not kids friendly. Very rude staff
Excellent restaurant with super friendly staff. Such lovely dishes with an extensive menu catering for all dietary preferences. Well presented dishes and reasonably priced.
I cannot comment on atmosphere as Ive only visited tye restaurant on Regent st to collect my customers deliveroo orders and I try most restaurants Ive collected from and in my opinion after trying them all I can testify the sauce in the beef, chicken or vegetable green curry is tue best around locally and tops tue same sauce at The Giggling Sqid by far. Its so good I save half the sauce in the fridge overnight, but a sirloin steak and a bag of stir Fry veg from Aldi and cook them all up in House Authentic Thais Green Curry sauce! Double Yum :)
Food was good. But it was a bit pricey . Would return but wouldnt rush back
Pad Thai was ok but small portion for the price and underspiced. Non alcoholic drinks very expensive. Dietary restrictions: They did try for allergy accomodation Wheelchair accessibility: Awful for wheelchairs
A hidden gem in Cambridge for Thai cuisine! Chicken coconut soup is THE best
Very authentic and delicious!!!
Nice and helpful staff, though food was lacklustred
Good authentic Thai cuisine. Closes a bit early and felt rushed out the door at the end but a solid experience overall.
Very good food is excellent, good friendly service, reasonable prices for Cambridge. Everything delicious.
21 Spicy n Sour Soup Tom Yum Goong soup is a big portion, but the amount is small 22 Chicken Coconut Soup Coconut milk chicken soup is not my thing, my sister likes it very much 32 Grilled Beef Salad (N) The grilled beef is mixed with Korean sweet and spicy sauce. It tastes okay. 102 Pad Thai (N) Thai Fried Rice Noodles This fried rice noodle is not authentic. There is no spicy millet, no lemon, and no crushed peanuts. It is sweet and a bit greasy. 103 Drunken Noodles Spicy Rice Noodles and Beef are quite salty and have a lot of sauce. They smell stinky when they are first served, but they don t taste good. 106 Duck Noodle Roasted Duck Noodles This is quite delicious. There is a lot of roasted duck and the noodles are quite chewy.
The dishes were so big and tasty, take care with the spicy
Sadly, this was not the best Thai I ve had. It was overcooked and lacked the freshness and flavor Thai food is known for.
Thai food is authentic and tastes good, Pad Thai and Green curry are very good.
Went as a group of 4 and the meal was incredible. Quick service, good ambience and top food. Basically, get the drunken duck.
Hot and spicy, reasonably priced and also great taste!
Authentic pad Thai and crispy duck rolls.
Disgustingly rude staff. Horrible food. Nasty. Shouldnt be in Cambridge. 0 stars.
Always the best restaurant in Cambridge and brilliant food one of the greatest thai restaurant awesome ladies
Very delicious food and friendly owner and staff. We ordered pineapple fried rice, prawn pad thai, and minced pork omelette. All are really tasty! So much so that we forgot to take photos and now the plates are all empty.
Real thai food, freshly cooked. Draught singa. Not the cheapest place to eat but good quality.
What s lovely restaurant! - really tasty food, friendly staff Beautifully decorated and great atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable and the beef main course was super tasty Warmly recommended
Very good Thai food
Dishes were really overpowering and sweet. Feel it s was overpriced for the quality.
Good food , although price seems to be abit steep
Hey have the wrong opening hours on their door and in Google maps as well.
The staff was friendly, the place is clean. The food was good. Vegetarian options: Some veg options available
Almost have missed this restaurant but glad to have found and tried it.
CAUTION- I dined here on 29th June 2023- we ordered Pad Thai, stir fried beef on a skillet, rice, a few starters and Panang Curry. I started having diarrhea on the morning of 30th June and it still has not stopped till the present. I have been feeling nauseated for the past few days. For the sake of your health, be wary if you decide to eat here. We didnt order a lot while the table next to us ordered many dishes. The interesting thing is that the table next door had much more attention and better service.
Mediocre food
I had the pad kra Pao moo sub it was sublime! The egg on top of the rice was soft and tasty. The mince was slightly chilly. I really enjoyed the meal! Food
Expensive drinks.
I had shrimp pad thai, chili salad, spring rolls, and calamari (fried squid). The pad thai wasnt bad at all, but it had a lackluster taste, didnt come with any seasonings, and the portion was small for the price. The service is good, with smiling and efficient servers.
Food was very good, portion was a bit small
Great restaurant, the service is very attentive and the dishes delicious!
I had an incredible dining experience at The House Thai Restaurant! The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was quite good also. The menu offered a delightful array of authentic Thai dishes bursting with flavor organised by numbers in the menu so you can have an easier selection of the dishes. The Pad Thai was a green curry, perfectly balanced and delicious, the menu had reflected the quantity of spicy that they add so is easier to choose if you prefer spicy food. The location, just a short ten-minute walk from the station, is convenient and makes it an ideal spot for a meal. I highly recommend The House Thai Restaurant for anyone craving exceptional Thai cuisine in Cambridge. I definitely go again if I visit the city again !! Thanks for the delicious food!!
Great food at a great price
Thai tea here is really disgusting, it is pre made, so not fresh. It has very weird taste not authentic at all. Even no lid provided ( they said running of out lid ) Not recommend!
The food was at best mediocre left most of both dishes ,was horrible the starter was not nice at all ,did not enjoy at all .
The waitress is rude.
The taste is authentic, the environment is comfortable, and the price is expensive.
Pad Thai with chicken is definitely worth checking out!
Initially when we walked in we just had the staff laughing at us. Probably because we were caught in the rain. Im glad seeing a pregnant woman in that state was funny to them. We ordered crispy calamari and it was soggy and barely cooked . Not crispy. I had jumbo prawns pad Thai ... I had 2 prawns and small amount of noodles and it tasted sour . It was not pad Thai that I have had in many other places and Im unsure why that was £18 for that small dish that didnt taste of anything. Ended on dessert which was okay
Food is very good, but the service is quite bad. In fact it is tragic
Very disappointing! The green curry was like liquid and the authentic Thai condiments were non existent - save your money and go to the Giggling Squid instead!
The staff were super friendly and accommodated our last minute large group booking with warmth and efficiency. Great food and extremely generous portions. Thanks!
Very disappointing food quality but very nice service
There was no one there when we went there. We were just one table. The price was similar to that in London, and students were exempted from the service fee.
One of the best Thai food in UK.
I had laksa with seafood which was nice. Calamari in it was nice and not overcooked. I would have liked the vermicelli harder as the broth is very hot ans it gets soft quickly. Friend had green curry with sticky rice and he enjoyed it . Prawn crackers were above average but not excellent.
Brilliant service and excellent service and wonderful service and awesome staff
Fantastic lunch deal
The worker has extremely bad attitude. Shouted and yelled at me when I was simply make a payment. The female worker from Thailand has to attend formal training courses and to be trained with how to do be a good PERSON.
Super tasty food. Was a great experience all round and what very patient staff even to the rude customers.
There couldnt be a worse lunch than this! I came to the restaurant around 4:00PM for a late lunch, because the next door Chinese restaurant I was supposed to dine in was closed, I came to the one and asked if they were open at that moment, they accepted me, but the waitress Lydia was disrespectful and did not want to serve at all, her attitude was bad and unhelpful all the time. Another disappointment is from the badly cooked food, I ordered one fried rice noodle dish (No. 101), it tasted very dry and hard to chew, it felt like they cooked the pasta directly without boiling it. I complained that it was not prepared at all, the chef asked if I was from Hong Kong, because their rice noodles are different from HKs. COME ON, Ive had Thai food hundreds of times. He fried it again, just making it even worse, he said he recooked the dish, but it was again very quickly served, I did not know what he did on earth, the noodle was still stiff and dry, I cant cut it with silverware, I ended up with boxing it for further processing it at home. The MOST ANNOYING and DISHONEST part of this meal is that, I ordered the rice noodle whose price is 11.95 with extra Tofu which charged 1 more pound, they charged me 15.95 pounds on the bill, I knew they must have helped me add more adds-on to my bill. It is not a matter of 3 pounds, it is a matter of INTEGRITY. I tried to speak to their manager, the chef said their manager is in Thailand and left me a contact info on their menu.It was the worst dining experience Ive ever had in Cambridge!
Delicious seabass in lime and coriander sauce. Refreshing moctail a la monitor. Pleasant and quick staff. Definitely recommended.
Lovely Thai food, reasonably priced
Price/value is questionable. The service was impolite.
We ordered Tom yum gong, curry and omelette. Food is good (given the limited choices we have here) and beer was okay too, overall experience was fine.
Not good wasnt authentic, the mains tasted like an over bearing strong jared paste from a supermarket. Expensive for what you get.
Nice place inexpensive good service Recommended
Good food and great service always!
Good food, terribly bad service
Extremely rude staff. we made order for about three times cause the food on each plate was TINY, then the Thai female staff banged the glass on the table, the way she talked and looked at us was full of rudeness and disrespect, thank you for ruined our day, won t come back for sure, food was good though(but a fishy fish)
Had food here years ago when they just opened and had a good experience then. This has changed as when I recently had dinner here, I had a poor experience. Firstly, when we arrived, other patrons were having their meal but there was no staff at all. We had to wait several minutes for a waitress to enter the restaurant. She didnt seem to care about her job and was rude. Drinks were nice but the food was meh. Very expensive too as it didnt include rice. When the bill came they had added a 10% optional service charge. Lol, for what service? We were not a big party and had no starters/desserts, so why demand 10% tip? Id have tipped had the food and service been better. Will never eat here again.
Excellent food, very well made dishes with good portions.
Bad service, high prices, food is just OK. not recommend.
Food is not bad, however, the service is terrible. When it comes to serving dishes, the staff slaps the dish directly on the table. My friends and I dont feel any respect from this shop.
Really great! Made our takeaway fast, very fresh and very hot. Even kindly made the green curry mild for our friends child although the menu said it could only be spicy. Edit: came in again for lunch. Everything was really fresh and great portions. They had an allergen key with gluten free choices too.
Wonderful food but awful service Had dinner alone in the restaurant. There was only one waitress and she wasn t helpful at all. I waited for 10 minutes for her to take my order and had to help myself for a glass of water because she never brought it to me. She was so impatient and rude and didn t seem to care about her customers. In the end they charged me a 10% service fee for the service which I never had the honour to experience lol. Luckily the food was wonderful, best Thai curry I had in the UK. I would recommend others to order on deliveroo. ;)
Came to this restaurant spontaneously as we walked past and ended up having a very surprisingly memorable meal, lots of authentic Thai options cooked incredibly well and reasonably priced too. Service was good and food was fast! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting interesting Thai food beyond green curry or pad Thai.
Very big portion and the good quality of food. Service to be improved.
Very nice Thai food. Reasonably priced. Great for a lunch stop.
I ate at 2 Thai places in town. This one was amazing, food was on point and came fast!!!
Vegetarian options: Noodles very nice
It was ok authentic Thai food, flavoursome traditional dishes done well
What states vegetarian on their menu.. actually isnt! All of their curries contain shrimp paste which they dont inform you of unless you ask specifically so definitely avoid if you dont eat fish or are vegan!!
A great find. The food in here is yum and the pricing is very reasonable. Good service. Easily located. Make sure u book in the weekend as it is very busy. We went in just at the right time as we did not book and they manage to accomodating us before the busy time.
Very nice service from young thai lady
delightful, start to finish, the main was spectacular and the starters were fantastic
Wonderful Thai place!
Delicious food, good quality and good price! Flavoursome food and all fresh! Food
Easy walk to this location. Food was ok but not impressed. The crying tiger steak was not very tasty. Also had pineapple fried rice and pad thai but was just ok. Was looking for more authentic flavor.
Lovely food and place, will be back again
I have been hunting for an authentic Thai restaurant in the Cambridge area for years.. I really truly recommend this place. Aroy Maak! Khrap kun Kap
Had the tamarind duck - duck was tasty but the noodles were half way between crispy and boiled which was weird and hard to eat. My friend had the baked king prawns which were nice but it was far too small for a main and she was still hungry. Each main came to £17-18 so it wasnt the best value for money, but the flavours were nice.
Very nice, I go several times a year with friends.
The WORST service I have ever experienced. They served me food with hair in it so I asked them to refund me or remake me the food. The waitress touches my food with her BARE HANDS to check and tells me it is not hair. Despite touching my food with her hands, she refuses to refund me or remake my food and returns the food to me . This is absolutely DISGUSTING and UNACCEPTABLE service. I urge no one to go there, who knows how they handle their food in their kitchen.
Severely underwhelming, Tom yum lacked aromatics and tasted sickly sweet. Green curry was also sweet and lacking flavour. Would not eat there again!
Nope
Ive ordered 2 currys and starters through deliveroo for £34. It took almost an hour to deliver and when it did there was no rice. Just sauces. When I called the restaurant they told me that the rice has to be ordered separately. In the app there is no information about it and rice itself after double checking is hidden somewhere at the bottom of the menu. When I asked the restaurant to deliver me missing rice they have refused. I do not recommend this place for online deliveries...
Service can be a bit slow but the food is authentic and tasty. (Some dishes are little too sweet for my liking) but Lunch time menu in general is very good value for money
Would be greater if less salt
Really tasty food. Look forward to visiting again!!
the stir fry food is a bit oily, but curry is okay.
Great food, excellent service
great foodb
Amazing food and service, will definitely go back.
The food tastes very good, couldnt flaw any of the items we had
Fantastic food and service. We will definately return!
Food was just ok. Waitresses were not welcoming at all.
The food was great, staff not so much. Combination of dirty cutleries and having to ask for things more than trice even though the restaurant wasnt busy was a bit annoying
Tasty food with quick service. Staff was friendly.
Food was okay. Staff wasnt nice. They automatically added 10% Discretionary gratuity to my bill without even my consent. And when I asked about it they told me its the service charge. Not worth the money. Will never go to this restaurant again!
We were initially disappointed because of the long wait but it s worth the wait. Tasty food! Well recommended! If you could just shorten the serving of food , because it took us more than 40mins of waiting . Other than that all is very good from starters, main course to desserts + tea for the set meal they have we added also pad thai its perfect
Great taste but small portions of every plate.
bad service
Food was deliciously prepared and very quickly. Id recommend as a cheap option!
Good Asian food.
The very best authentic Thai food Ive had. Great staff.
Amazing Thai food!! Penang curry is delicious. Great service too.
terrible service
Lovely food and lovely service.
Very rude waitress. Try to place order and was shouted back. Dont patronise this place.
Very good Thai food. Green curry delicious. Could have done with some complimentary crackers whilst waiting?
Poor service. Slow. Waited ages for food. Not authentic - too sweet
Good mojito recommended
Superb food, friendly staff.
I came here with some friends. We had a couple of the Drunken Noodle dishes (tofu and pork, quite spicy!) and massaman curry also with tofu. Everything was lovely! I highly recommend this Thai restaurant.
The waiting staff were pleasant, but slow. About fifteen minutes after ordering our meal, and with only the drinks on the table, we were asked by the waiter if we had everything - a quick glance at our near-empty table would have avoided the embarrassing question. The sticky-rice was very chewy, otherwise our meal was okay. We were asked if wed like dessert, we said wed look at the menu. We were going to order dessert but gave up waiting after ten minutes for someone to take our order and just went to the bar to pay our bill. I suppose the service could have been slower still, if it had been a full-house.
The food was ok. I have eaten Thai food before and on this instance everything super extra sweet for some reason.
It was a good place for some nice Thai food. Most of their dishes had options for veg, chicken , duck and beef so there s a lot of options. The staff are really friendly. It s also a good place to go on a date.
The waitress is not too accommodating like she s upset having customer when they opened.. omg!!! Also, when we ordered rice she said its good for two but she gave me only a cup of rice!!! Shes not approachable and not smiling at all
One of the best Thai restaurants in Cambridge. The food is great. If you go there for lunch, then you can order a lunch menu for a set price. If you order a la carte the portions are larger and you do not need a starter. They really are enough. The service depends on the person who serves you. We havent had any bad experience on this part, hence 5*
Absolutely amazing food for a decent price. Definitely recommended.
wonderful customer service, good food, affordable prices and nice climate
This was the best Thai meal I have ever had, fresh and full of flavour. Not greasy and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended
Very disappointing. Thai fish cakes microwaved rendering them tough and tasteless. Rest of food, just ok, portions very small. If you enjoy Tai food, not the place to go.
Delicious food, high quality and big size. Nice staff and comfortable place
Very nice food, very tasty and fresh. Nice and helpful staff!
I need to remind myself not to visit this restaurant again. It looks as if they have great lunch menu price. But the portion is tiny and the choices are very limited. It says student discount, but when you ask, they said what I ordered are excluded. Drinks are also excluded. Just feels a bit dishonest... Lastly, the service is not attentive. I had to go up to the counter to order. I only got my water near the end of my meal.
This is one of the best restaurants in Cambridge :) food is superb and nice ambient. I highly recommend the fried beef!
Very nice restaurant with excellent service. Quieter than one would expect, awesome!
Do not order for delivery!!!!? Absolutely terribledelivery service! Of the past 3 orders, ALL have been short. The last time, which took 90 mins to arrive despite the website saying it would be with us in around 30 mins, we did not receive 2 dishes of a £75 order... and of those that did arrive, two of what we received were cold... and the starter menu for 3 contained just 2 of each item. In each case, we telephoned to complain but the management told us to complain to Deliveroo...but when I said that it was not deliveroos fault, the manager on the phone hung up. I think that the business model is to undeliver on orders to make extra £ in the knowledge that no one can seek any compensation. I also feel really bad for the Deliveroo couriers who have to deal with all the issues.
Had a lovely meal here, food was fresh and very tasty, service was good. Decor wasnt great, toilet facilities were poor, hence 4 out of a possible 5 star review. Price wise, it was what i would expect to pay but if you prefer quantity to quality then maybe this place isnt for you.
Will visit Cambridge again, just to go to this restaurant.....!
DONT GO THERE! They randomly replace ingredients on their menu. The food is mediocre. This place is a scam.
Take care with this place. They charged me 17 gbp for a bottle of wine that I didnt order, I only had one glass, not a bottle . When I told them, they just refunded the difference between the bottle and the glass. I think when someone makes a mistake like this, at least it would be polite not to charge for the glass of wine, as a compensation. The fact that they took off the cost of the glass of wine from the refund looks very cheap to me, its not about the money but about showing some respect for the customer. Also makes me wonder why the waitress asked if I wanted to keep the paper with the bill, after I paid. Why wouldnt I? Im glad I did request to keep it, otherwise I wouldnt have realised I had been overcharged! I wonder why she wanted to take the bill with her..... Also drinks are very expensive here. 4 gbp for a small beer, its abusive. Also for the green curry, it doesnt include the rice, which is paid apart. And its a very tiny bowl, so that youll need to pay extra if you want to finish your curry with enough rice. I dislike restaurants where they try to squeeze extra money our of their customers by being cheap with rice and drinks.
They have very poor customer service. The food was okay. After ordering we waited 30 minutes (not a dramatization either) and we didn t even receive water. We had a server come back to us saying she forgot to put our order in (30+ minutes later) and we re-ordered (I asked for water a second time). They then brought us thai tea, no water still. When they brought us our food it was too hot to eat and they changed my friends chicken to shrimp (without asking her), which could ve been deadly had she had a sea food allergy. It took me asking for water 4 times before I received any. They did not give any discounts for the inconvenience either. Food isn t good enough for the poor service. Do not recommend.
Nice service and food
Order through Deliveroo. Food was 40 minutes late. Then once I put the food on my plate it was a disappointment. Chicken was ok. But came with hardly nothing else. And was very bland. The egg fried rice was bland too and full of lumps of rice. Very disappointed
What a wonderful place! Fantastic food, great staff and nice cocktails. They overheard it was one of our parties birthdays and brought out a complimentary dessert unprompted. Fantastic restaurant!
Excellent food, great price for the area. Nice atmosphere. Go there!
Extremely POOR CUSTOMER service. The restaurant itself appeared to me rather nice to start with; this was though ruined later on by such an awful experience. It was obvious the amount of customers to serve could have easily been managed considering how quiet of a day it was; we ordered our food at 1:30pm, by 2:45pm we were still sitting at the table with an empty plate, but more importantly an EMPTY STOMACH. Other customers that had ordered after us, received their meal way sooner than us. After waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes, the waiter comes to us to say our food is going to take another 15 minutes; I was surprised at such unfairness and such obvious lack of communication between members of staff and from staff to customers. Would not recommend!
Excellent, authentic Thai cuisine at reasonable prices, good service.
I love thai food so I have tried a lot of restaurants and The House is one of the very best I have had in all of England! Fantastic food!:)
Wowie! Is the word you would use after a meal at this restaurant! Every dish is packed full of flavour and it truly is an authentic Thai food experience!
Delicious food, the menu is great value!! The staff is friendly and the food tastes authentic (as much as I can tell). Highly recommended and please ignore the low reviews which seem to be misguided.
good thai food
Excellent food.
We usually get takeaways from here every 1 or 2 weeks and the food is great: Delicious curries, pad thai, and the duck spring rolls are highly recommended!
Very nice set menu
Every dish we ordered was flavourful, especially the Thai fish cake starter and the Panang curry. The prices were decent as well and the service was top notch. Would definitely come back again soon.
Fairly good food but horrendous wait for our starters.
Poor customer service
Small serving Bad taste Poor service
