Yesterday I was there for dinner with my family. Food was ok but I am really disappointed with the strawberry Lassi. First time I saw Lassi without dahi or yogurt, it was just strawberry syrup with crushed ice and some whipped cream. Atleast dont make a fool to those people who knows what they are ordering.

Its become our weekly dinner outing spot! I love the Palak paneer and dal makhani.

Food was great! Really solid Indian comfort food in a comfortable classy space. The full length mirrors in the washrooms made me bookmark this as a good date/work meeting spot as well. The staff are also really great! I was in a bit of a pickle and they really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Really impressed by this small town favourite.

We had visited here 2 years back when we came to Campbell River, that time the experience was great. Hoping the same we came back again and to be honest the experience was below par. The quantity was good for the pricing, but the taste was not up to the mark. We were a group of nine and i thought it was just for me, but the whole group were not happy with the food. Hope they will rectify this. The washrooms were clean.

My wife and I have had take out and also ate in for dinner. The food is amazing, I recommend the prawn tandoori, and the chicken tandoori tikka.

Decided to order from here as I havent been here and was looking for a good Indian restaurant. I was ordering for me and my wife and 2 toddlers. Expected bigger portions due to the price point. I paid almost $50 for this and was disappointed. Dont think Ill come back to order for the family as I would need to pay more and get less for my money than I would for pizza, Chinese food and even sushi. I didnt even order rice as I made my own so I wouldve needed probably 3 orders of rice for my family if they are the same portions as the curry. The food itself was ok, although the meat were very large chunks and needed to be cut up even for myself to eat.

I ordered Prawn curry, fish mango curry and samosa. Foods was so yummy and tasty. I loved it and I ll go back again soon. I wish you all the best and more prosperity. Thank you!

I ordered food and I had a very small rock in my naan bread

Amazing food to cleanse and rejuvenate body and spirit. Was out fishing the days leading up to the feast. Due to poor diet and refusal to use skid marked water closet seats on our fishing trip I found myself bloated and ballooning. I choose to go with the highest spice level for maximum rejuvenation that evening. I had an early flight out of comox the next morning. Unfortunately the airport bathroom facilities werent able to capacitate the heights of rejuvenation I had reached and began to over flow. In fears of getting blacklisted I changed my outer layer of attire for incognito mode on the chance of being pointed out by the heroic cleaning staff to security. Im not sure whom was more embarrassed me or my traveling companion he moved three rows away from me.

Great food!

Ordered four dishes plus naan, takeout for three. 100 bucks and we had a huge supper, a huge lunch next day and some leftovers. Top-notch food. Really happy. Look small on first impression, but we were surprised how far the sauce went.

Stopped by for dinner and had the mango curry chicken, rice, and naan bread. Service was very good, premises were clean, well-kept, and charming. The food was great, spice level was right where I asked for. Would definitely visit again and try some other dishes!

Had a delicious lamb vindaloo

I was a regular at Spice Hut in Comox and have eaten at the ones in Ladysmith and Port Alberni. My favourite meal is Chicken Masala which was just okay here. Their base sauce (onion sauce) was fully blended and lacked the depth of flavour that i feel it should have plus the chicken was under marinated. The side rice was good and the garlic butter naan was outstanding.

Good Indian food for a good price

60$ for 2 butter chickens, rice and Naan bread and the portions are horrible.... I cant believe the cost. Not to mention there was a black hair in both my partner and mines bowl to which I called the store to complain/ resolve and they immediately hung up on me before even letting me finish ! And no call back... Absolutely unacceptable. I will not be returning and certainly sharing my review elsewhere.

Ordered a small MILD butter chicken, received a medium butter chicken with a large family sized rice!! They need to listen better to the person ordering!! Now I have enough rice for a week a butter chicken that is too spicy for me to enjoy! What a disappointment! EDIT: they contacted me to apologize for the error on my order and have given me a credit for my next order! Great customer service, thank you!!

I can honestly say this is sone of the best Indian food I ve ever had. The veggie samosas, butter chicken are must haves and honestly all dishes were an absolute treat! Yum yum yum. I will be sure to stop here anytime I m passing through Campbell river 100%

Food is really gud. There was a girl working alone there. She is fantastic and so patient as she doesnt have any help. I recommend them to hire more staff atleast its so busy location.

I ve eaten here 8 times now, hoping for something better, but the average of my experience is still only 1. No drink menu, appetizers took 30 minutes, food 60 min, atmosphere is semi professional. They had a video playing about Mexico in the background. I ve travelled to India multiple times, food is not up to an authentic standard. I have seen the quality drop over time. This spells the end for a restaurant when you start to compromise quality. The logo is repurposed from a Mexican restaurant. The white staff don t know anything about Indian cuisine. I witnessed Indian people asking about tiffin service and the staff having no idea what that is. The white staff could only recommend butter chicken. They had homeless people hanging out in the restaurant like it was a soup kitchen. You got work to do Syed, you are doing a disservice to the community by providing such a low quality standard. The passion if it was ever there is gone.

Finding an Indian Vegetarian food was kind of hard until I get to know about spice hut Indian cuisine the food is so delicious and cooked exactly with typical Indian spices. Its now our go to place, kind of every/twice a week. The pricing is worth too! Also, the dine-in is extra nice and well maintained. The staff is very polite, friendly and cooperative.

I was in the North Island Hospital for ten days. My husband joined me after a week and I begged him to pick up something tasty for me to eat. I specifically asked for pakoras. He went to the Campbell River Spice Hut. He was suspicious about the quality of the food based on the decor, which he described as cheap cafeteria, but the serving staff were kind so he ordered dine-in for himself, planning to bring me some afterwards. His meal came promptly but it was inedible. An abomination, he described the tasteless, rubbery butter chicken. He brought me a small serving of the pakoras which were unrecognizable: the consistency of hay bales, they were dry and chewy with no recognizable spices. Neither of us had eaten properly for days and we were incapable of consuming this food. He also ordered a dessert but it smelled and looked awful, and the tiniest sampling resulted in us throwing that out as well. I almost wept with disappointment. Thirty dollars wasted and our spirits were broken. Avoid at all costs.

Discovered this place last October and sooo looking forward to go there again this vacation. With food this good, I dont have to cook myself.

Vegetarian options: The food was delicious. The spice level was perfect as per directed. I come to this restaurant oftenly whenever I come to Campbell River for my work.I have noticed that the staffs keep smiling all the time. They greet customer with a smiling face.

Best Spice Hut on the Island...by far. No aromas, bathroom spotless, tables cleaned instead of smeared/wiped. Food fresh, rice fresh, really pleasant. Server welcoming, polite, clean and attentive. Went there for a quick lunch as have to catch the ferry which was 1.5 hours away at Nanaimo. Requested a quick service, and they delivered without compromise on quality. All the items we ordered tasted really good too! I didnt have the chance to take pictures, but they looked delicious too! Oh, I should also mention, on a Sunday around 2pm, thats when we were searching for food options, and we were surprised that most of the stores were closed! But Spice Hut was open, much to our delight! Thank you for the great service!

Excellent East Indian food. Last time I ate there I had a corker of a vindaloo. Superb.

First off Ill say we are frequent visitors to spice hut and normally love it. This evening was by far the worst Indian food I ever had.(take out order) Simple thing like butter chicken was more like tomato soup with pepper in it I wont comment on the chicken as I assure you the chicken died for nothing. Definitely disappointed as the Costco one beats this by far. Typically its great its been hit or miss lately but the last 3 times its been a miss! Seems theyre having some cook issues as the cooks are white guys cooking indian food. My partner ordered spicy lamb curry and it came milder then water. Hope theres another place in town that cares about what they cook. If you change your passion for cooking Ill change my review.

The food is the best Indian food in town but there is only 1 other option, itll do but best to go to Courtenay or Nanaimo if you want some decent stuff. The customer service was quite poor in our last experience, we ordered take out and upon arrival it was nowhere to be seen. Due to a printer error it had not been made, 20 minutes later we got our food with nothing more than a sorry. Any respectable F&B establishment would comp a desert, part of the bill or something a gesture of good will for an error on their part. Very disappointing.

Stopped in here on a long road trip and we really enjoyed the food, service and cleanliness of this restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

Theyre not kidding when they call it SPICE hut !! We asked for the hottest flavor and they delivered. Next time we will ask for medium so we arent sweating the whole time. The food was tasty and ambience was nice. Food arrived in a timely manner and good sized portions

Good eastern Indian cuisine open on a Sunday when many places in Campbell River are closed.

Worst Restaurant, poor customer service. all these 5 star reviews are fake. They deleted my friends review from their page so posting here and spreading awareness for other people to save their time and not to visit here.

Lunch for 3 of us last Saturday. We liked the decor which set the mood just right. The menu offered plenty to choose from and we enjoyed Butter chicken with garlic naan on the side, Chicken curry and Tandoori chicken, bone in. All were flavourful, served quickly and presented appetizingly. Price point was reasonable, and service friendly. Washroom was neat and clean, too. Were looking forward to returning soon. Heres a local restaurant that deserves your business!

The overall food is mild not authentic , the butter chicken sauce is like a tomato soup no flavor at all and kebab is really good; Naan is big but kind of rubbery takes time to chew . Biryani is okay . Dal makini is good we enjoyed the taste . Not Indian standard food but it s good for customers around here.

Had a delicious meal, with great service. Originally heard of Spice Hut when I was in Invermere where I had exceptional service by Sharon. So when I came to Campbell River I knew there was a plate of Coconut Chicken waiting for me with my name on it :)

I have been visitng both the locations more often but today I have had a bad experience with the service. Somehow in a hurry to close the place they forgot to care about the customers and there was an intense argument with the person. My family went there to have a good time, but the experience wasnt good and I left the place without having food. I will not be going back to Campbell River location.

I used to come here all the time, with coworkers or for to-go. But after a few times of bad experiences I decide not to visit here and leave this message here. Similar to the the experience from one of the previous customer, I waited a long time at my table to be attended (maybe 4 tables of guests include mine), one girl is helping several other tables, and when I tried to ask help from the lady behind the counter, she simply replied Im not your server...I dont understand how helping customers is not your job, if you are working as a waitress. Theres several times where my to-go order does not have utensils, which I have to get from my hotels kitchen. One time I ordered fish but got chicken, and when asking for a replacement, the server ask me to take back the order for proof, so I packed everything waited for 20 minutes (how long she told me its going to be ready) and drove back to the restaurant. The waitress for some reason give a really bad attitude, as if I created troubles for her, like I should just stayed quite and accepted what I got, I do leave tips even for to-go. I just dont know understand why.
