Extremely overpriced food for its small portions. Food wasn t bad but wasn t good enough to justify the price, but wasn t anything to write home about.

The food was good and there was a lot of selection. There was almost an hour delay before our food arrived. Staff was friendly. Food was tasty.

I went here last night with my wife. This place is a hidden Gem! Great food great service! Great drinks ! Sweet patio . The only thing is there signs and advertising are a bit hidden and covered by trees . It needs some better visibility ,I have driven past this place many times and didn t even know it was there.people need to go check this place out! I love this place and I will be going back for sure!

Had the fish and chips 2 piece. Too much to eat as the pieces are really big. Also had a fresh awesome salad. With their homemade salad dressing. Had the wings as an appetizer. My wife had the noodle veggie stir fry. All food and service was exceptional. First time here will definitely return.

Good food, frickin incredible wings and a fine pilsner. What makes it though: the people. Family run and lovely people. Apparently they have jam sessions on Sunday with an opening by a Philippine band! Wish I could join.

Beautiful view from the patio, but the food was overpriced for what it is, and it was very underwhelming with next to no flavor. Our server was nice. But otherwise, I wasnt impressed, I can recommend this place.

We chose this place because of the excellent review of the fish and chips. The menu was so interesting that we ended up choosing the salmon tacos. Very generous portion of tasty salmon! Friendly & attentive service too. Happy to recommend this gem!

I had the Wor Wonton soup, spouse had the Big Rock Noodle soup. We both really enjoyed.

Stopped in for dinner after not having eaten here in many years and we enjoyed everything we had! We were wanting sushi and although not the best I ve ever eaten, I ve eaten A LOT of sushi in many different places, it was far better than some I ve had! The calamari appetizer was really tasty, the sunomono salad was very good. The banana spring roll for dessert was delicious! Our waitress was great and the food came out nice and quick! Will definitely go back again.

We enjoyed Valentines lunch there with Hazel providing friendly and efficient service. The flat walls and ceiling create an strong echo effect. Food is wonderful, some international delights. The image is of a banana and jackfruit desert. We have enjoyed a number of visits to this place.

This place is amazing!! I rarely eat out, but if company comes we go here. Every time Ive gone the food and service have been impeccable. The staff is great, friendly, and gives your table just the right amount of attention. The atmosphere is light and fun. The menu is varied, and reasonably priced. Anything that has been ordered has been excellent. After I leave I start thinking about the next time I can visit!

I am very excited to have found my new favourite place to eat in Campbell River! Staff were very kind and the food was delicious. Nice variety on the menu. We shared the lumpia and korean sandwich. They were both filled with perfectly cooked and seasoned vegetables and ample portion size. Best fries in town!

Very nice people who seem like they are trying very hard in this tough time for restaurants - unfortunately the cost of the meal vs what you get is just not worth it to me. I would be more than happy to return for a pint and some fries or something but the menu is steeply overpriced.

This was a lovely restaurant. It has an ocean side view from the patio. The service was wonderful. Food was super good and fresh! Also, reasonably priced. Definitely recommend going here! Vegetarian options: Lots of options without meat that look filling and tasty. Parking: Looks like the restaurant shares a parking lot with the motel. Lots of spots available. Kid-friendliness: Saw kids eating there.

You dont have to go out to eat here, the quality leaves a lot to be desired, and the portions are manageably large. Looking for another location.

I was not impressed with the loudness of the staff when giving their orders to the kitchen. I found it interfered with the peace and serenity. The staff were friendly and smiling However. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant and patio were ground level without any stairs whatsoever.

Always been very pleased by the Adobe these guys provide and service both times has always been super warm and polite! Good family feel to the ownership and I only wish I was a rich man so I could eat here much more frequently. Definitely recommend if youre looking for something phillipino oriented!

Decided to order take out for my lunch at work. Called and they said it would be 30 mins for my order, which was longer than I expected but that was fine, I said I would pick up at 1.15. Ordered lumpia and a SIDE caesar salad. Got there and my bill was nearly 40$. I saw she had charged me for a meal sized caesar, i. told her i wanted a side and she said it wasnt an option. Had her remove it from the order. Took my lumpia to go. I wasnt informed that at some point they had changed it to a fresh lumpia which was not at all what I wanted as I hate peanut sauce. When I called and informed her this wasnt what I thought I was getting I was given no option for a new meal or even a discount on future orders. Will not be back.

Thai Chicken Curry for the win

Ive been there twice and each time, the staff is courteous and the food is amazing. Ive had the fishn chips. Best Ive tasted so far. Not greasy or overly battered and cooked to perfection. The second time was the Leg of Lamb in a sauce. OMG! So tender and flavourful! Id highly recommend this place to anyone of my friends.

Super Mario = no problem .. great food .. very reasonable priced considering inflation .. lunch for 2 with a nice glass of wine slightly over $50 .. last time we went for lunch at a different restaurant well over $100 for a similar lunch wine aswell.. will definitely add Big Rock Garage to a rotation !! We were welcomed at the door, then our chairs were pulled out for us. Awesome customer service and delicious food. I had no idea they served Sushi and it was delicious. My friend had fish & chips and it was very good. We will be back.

Went there with my family (6 of us). We each had something different and each item was fantastic. Would highly recommend.

It is an old style dinner. I loved it just because it brought back memories from when I was a kid. Service was good...bring food out one at a time was a bit odd. My kid was finished eating by the time the last person got there plate. All in all I would go back.

Great place. Varied menu with Sushi rolls also. Moderate pricing. Nice sit up bar with a TV for sports. Large patio looking over the ocean. Lots if inside seating. Motorcycle parking out front. Well worth the motorcycle ride up from Courtenay.

terribly slow service. waited for an hour and a half. service also wasn t great. food was good but not anything awesome. they served people that arrived much later than us before brining out food.

For a change, we can both get the cuisine of our choice without having to compromise. We had Asian: Stir Fry Vegetable with rice instead of egg noodles, and Western: BBQ Chicken Sandwich with house salad. They kept to their promise of local and fresh: the House Salad was very fresh, with different kinds of vegetables including purple cabbage, instead of the usual imported box of mixed organic greens. The stir fry was obviously made from scratch, with cauliflower, broccoli, bell peppers, jicama, siu-choy, snap peas, onions, and carrots. We liked it so much we cancelled our dinner reservation elsewhere and came back the next night. Although the stir fry was just as good, I regretted ordering the chicken wings as it was battered with gluten and gave me indigestion. The french fries from the fish and chips were not cut from real potato fries, nothing like New York fries.

Friendly, we waited a long time for our sushi , which was disappointing. The rice seemed mushy and everything tasted the same. The staff were nice and they have a nice patio with ocean view.

Best fish and chips my mom and I have ever had, even though they were cold they were still delicious. Very big pieces of fish batter didnt fall off and was not oily at all.

Food took over an hour to get, the 2 waitresses were doing their best.

Great (and atypical) selection of food - Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Filipino...as well as a good assortment of burger-joint options. The location cant be beat, and service was friendly. The fish tacos were delicious!

Our office ordered lunch today and everything was great! They were accommodating of a large order, allergies and substitutions and even called later in the day to make sure everything was good and enjoyed. Delicious food and great customer service!

Worst service ever lol, took an hour and a half to get our sushi rolls and half an hour just to get our drinks which they didn t even make properly. The waitress had no idea what she was doing she just stared at us and waited for us to order. Didn t ask if we wanted a drink or anything lol..

The staff at big rock garage always goes above in beyond with their service i went there last night and they were slammed soo busy but they still managed to be friendly and our food took maybe 15-20 minutes (which really isnt bad compared to how busy they were) and they apologized at least 3 times! on top of the friendly staff the food is AMAZING

Holy heck. Ordered the pulled beef sandwich and my partner ordered the burger. Hands down the best take out Ive had in a very long time. Both were absolutely delicious. We were close by and they even called to tell us our order was ready. Super friendly and efficient.

Tried to call in for take out, waste of time. I had to show up to place order. Their was only one lady that was helpful out of a giant family in the back from 3 to 60 year old. After half an hour to get a burger and salad I did get a phone call from the same lady, she was the only one doing her job for customer service, when I picked it up a older gentlemen yelled at me sayingits not ready while he was carrying dishes, the same lady that I was dealing with said it was and on the counter for pickup. Long story short this restaurant was notable... I dont do reviews but I had to for this one, but that one lady did a fantastic job despite everything else... praise to her

Good food and Gluten Free options, I had the fish tacos and my gf had the Gluten Free Thai Curry, tried a couple rolls out as well, the patio is nice and big and the Staff were friendly, we will be back and would definitely recommend!

Great food, but the older guy serving appears to be very unhappy, I say this because of his lousy manners, it seems like he believes he is doing you a favour by bringing you the menu...cheer up fellow, when you deal with the public you need to have better manners.

Terrible service. Waiters were rude and took forever. They also had their kid running around screaming while trying to work and people were trying to eat.

Interesting place - appears to be a family business with some creative menu ideas. The Philly Cheese with a Korean twist was really, really good. (Waited a bit longer than I would have liked to pay the bill, however.)

I used to drive past this place every day, twice a day, and not once thought to give it a try. On a whim, friends and I decided to give it a go. We were seated quickly, and our server was just the right amount of attentive. Given the amount of staff to tables, I was definitely happy with the service. The drinks were good, and the food was delicious. Ill admit there was a bit of heat with my dish - the Bulgogi Cheesesteak - and Im not the biggest fan of spicy food; however, I was still very happy. All in all Id definitely consider going back. Oh, and calamari? Absolutely amazing. Do yourself a favour and get an order of it. Or two, if youre having to share.

Went there on the suggestion of a friend for sushi, found out they did some Filipino dishes too! So did a combo; Ebi sunomono, West Coast Rolls, and Pork Adobo (super tender!). Finished off the meal with Banana Spring Roll! Next time gonna try the Singapore Noodles and Lumpia!

I came here for dinner with my family the other night and it was easily the best meal I ve had in a long time. We got a whole bunch of different appetizers and it was absolutely unreal. 10/10 . And wonderful staff.

We love it here! We have eaten at the Garage about 5 times, and I finally remembered to review it. I always end up saying to myself, How did I get get THAT meal for such a great price? Every type of food they prepare is beautifully presented and so tasteful and tasty. We never feel like we are waiting too long. It seems to be a family-run business and this family treats us so well. If we ask for something particular in a meal (such as extra piquante) they respond favorably and they dont forget we asked for it. The atmosphere is friendly and intimate enough for a nice private dinner experience.

Tried out this restaurant for the first time. Had a delicious meal and the service was great. My husband and I had the gyoza for our appy and then adobo pork and Singapore noodles for our main dishes. Definitely looking forward to going again.

This is a fantastic local eatery. We enjoy a meal here at least once a month. We have frequent visitor from out of town and there is a short list of local eateries we recommend. This is definitely one of them. Great food, great presentation of meals, and the big plus for us is the cleanliness and proper handling of food during prep. (Kitchen is viewable from seating area)

Food was not fresh as it should have been (sushi) and the two soups broth was plain. The wontons were not fresh in the other as well (sent back). Burger was just okay. Service was pleasant. Not returning.

This was our first meal out since COVID and it was definitely reflected in the price. We got the veggie spring rolls (which were two larger spring rolls cut in half) and they were good. He got the Thai curry which was tasty. I got the fish tacos and would not recommend them. They looked like grocery store deep fried fish sticks and super greasy. It said it came with fries or salad, but I wasnt offered a choice (given fries). The fries were good. I also got a virgin Caesar which was also good. During the meal, the server came over three times. Once to take our order, another to deliver drinks, and then to deliver food. Ill give them another try, but probably not for a while.

Once COVID restrictions eased up this was the first restaurant we went to. I admit to being leery of eating out but the food was so delicious and the outdoor seating on a beautiful summer day made our meal even better. Im not sure why we didnt eat here sooner but Ive now added BRG to my list of places for a great meal. This is the type of restaurant that Campbell River needs more of. Great job BRG, we will definitely be back!!

i have eaten there twice now. the food quality is consistant. the food has the perfect size portions , and the gravy for take-out comes in an imitation tupperware container ( perfect for collectors) and the service is very friendly and the drinks are well made.

Dont be fooled by the rather nondescript outside facade.( They still have the filing station canopy over the outside tables). The signage is terrible. Very hard to notice as a restaurant on the drive by. Im sure their business would grow quickly if this was improved. The inside is nice and contemporary. Smallish menu but food is very good and presented very nicely. Server (owner I think) could use a little more server training but was polite and friendly. I will definitely be returning as this is a diamond on the rough

I went for lunch with my family for the first time. My mom and sister who live in Campbell River had never been, and myself from Edmonton, obviously had never gone. The atmosphere was nice, the restaurant itself very clean. Service was good, very friendly and comfortable. The food was amazing. I had the pulled beef and the flavors were so, so, good. They both had the burger, was told also equally good. Fries were super crispy, cooked to perfection. Portion sizes were considerate. Overall experience was really good. Would definitely return upon my next trip back to Campbell River. I would highly recommend trying this quality little spot. Its a gem! Thanks Big Rock Garage for the amazing food and service!!!

Dinner was excellent, probably the best food Ive had at a restaurant in Campbell River. Service was prompt, my meal was cooked to order and was perfectly seasoned, fresh and hot. My curry was very good.

Really tasty Asian fusion food with a little bit of everything for any kind of kid or picky adult too. Based out of an upcycled gas station with gorgeous views of the coast. Stopped by in the afternoon and service was really slow, it was definitely busy but there was only one waitstaff :/

From Asian cuisine to North American cuisine, every item on the menu is #1. For me, this was the very best hamburger in all of Campbell River.
