It is the place to go for tacos, quesadias. I got the chicken burger and it was the best chicken burger Ive ever had!

Good food at moderate prices. Very clean and friendly.

Best wings ever. Had the dry wings and they where cooked exactly right. Moist and the breading was delicious. Also ordered nacho plate and it was huge. My wife has fish allergy and they went out of their way to accomodate her. Thank-you.

We enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service at this restaurant. The burgers were amazing, my wife really enjoyed the beet salads and another person in our party enjoyed the fish and chips. Food

WOW Came in tonight for the beet salad now that she s back on the winter menu (FINALLY!!!) and tried to new hot chicken sandwhich and my hubby said it was the best chicken burger ever! My mango margs were over flowing and out waiter in the lounge was 10/10 as he always is. We love socal for our date nights

Our server was very good. Unfortunately my Fajita was not, wrong beef , wrong flavour profile, just not at all the way a Fajita is prepared . My advice , do it right or take it off the menu .

Very nice place, great service and a great atmosphere, but the food, being from Southern California, is very sweet. Its good, but it needs a touch closer to the south, but I still highly recommend it. Its just that I have a very demanding palate, but I understand that it is adapted to Canadian customers.

Taco Chicken burger was dry, fish tacos very bland. Quite disappointing. Atmosphere was unappealing. Would not recommend. Service and servers were fine though.

Second visit in two days. First visit I debated between Long Island salad or fajitas. Got salad the first day and while it was tasty it literally came with two slices of cucumber, 1/4 of an avocado two grape tomatoes and maybe 2 tbs of shredded carrots. Worst of all there was only maybe 1/2 a chicken breast on the salad for 23$ it was tasty but even with elevated cost of groceries this was highway robbery and definitely not value for money. I came in tonight craving their fajitas which are always fantastic but definitely not tonight. The tray of wraps were replaced with two awful tasting corn tortillas. There was maybe a tbs of guac, a tbs of salsa and 2 tbs of sour cream. They did thankfully give me a big flour wrap when I couldn t stomach the provided soggy tortillas. I thought for sure they must have either new management, new cook or new owners as their fajitas have been amazing for the last 7 years. They said nothing had changed, but their fajitas definitely have. I was extremely disappointed in the food and most likely won t be back. I will say their front staff was very friendly and attentive especially on the second visit

This place is really pleasant. We ate on the terrace, that natural touch and the sound of the fountain in the background made the atmosphere more relaxing and the food more enjoyable. It was delicious, we ordered the salad with duck breast and the lasagna and we loved it. The dessert of the house was delicious. The attention of the person who attended us from the entrance and the one who took our order was charming.

Our server was lovely and attentive, but we were not fans of the food. The enchiladas were somehow simultaneously both soggy and dry, and there was very little meat. They seemed to be covered with a ton of what looked like aioli, and the enchilada sauce was more like a paste. The fish and chips had a breading that was really thick and overpowered the fish.

The fajita and the beans and rice with it tasted more like chili and black pepper than nicely seasoned chicken and beans with rice. The beer battered fish was bland and oily, not sure why there was dill in the batter...was very disappointed .

Everything was awesome, from the atmosphere to the home made fries and quick friendly service. Loved our Caesar s Thank you Food

They tried to fix the mess up with our skip order. They said they delivered it but it never showed up. Obviously dropped at the wrong house and they refused to accept responsibility for their incompetence

A solid two for the SoCal. You can tell that they are trying, Ive had good meals here. One big star missing because they advertise open till 21:00 but shut the kitchen and bar at 20:30. Millennials. Second star has to do with execution. Need someone to ring lead this circus. Nice patio and bar.

Food was excellent , service was okay as it was busy. Drinks are usually good as well however last night we ordered 6 pitchers of margaritas and drank them with a party of four along with other alcoholic beverages. The margaritas were mostly ice with little to no alcohol at all (mostly mix) no buzz from anyone. 50 bucks a jug for water ice and mix would not recommend. -the boys

Went with friends for dinner this past Sat. Food was great and what fun... it was music bingo night. Cool to see so many folks singing along... a repeat visit is planned...

Ordered takeout online. We ordered fish tacos, a kids cheeseburger meal and the Barria tacos. I placed the order at 6:22 and when I hadn t received an email that our order wasn t ready by 7 I just drove to the restaurant. I stood at the door for 7 minutes before someone plucked my order off the bar and brought it over to me. The fish in the tacos was completely soggy, the barrio tacos were subpar and I paid 15.50 for a kids burger meal (1.50 extra for cheese that they didn t even put on the burger) that had a patty the size of a cucumber slice. Thank goodness I noticed that they automatically default the tip to 20% and changed it to 10% but it honestly deserved zero. I ve given this place a few chances over the years because the location is convenient for us but it s been bad every time. If you re looking for takeout in Willow Point go for Mattones. That s where we would have ordered from but they are closed on Sundays.I called to let them know but imagine that .no one answered

They have many opportunities to improve the taste of food and drinks. We had high expectations and we left really disappointed. I ordered a Wet Style burrito and its just red sauce on top of the burrito, where is the Wet Style? Nothing to say about the service: 10/10 service.

I had some weird little bacon tacos... kind of a fail. Lets get more food on the plates for the prices. The tortilla soup has also changed too bad. Im still down for going in and having the Extreme Cesar drink lunch stack. But please, you guys just be maybe even less creative and more quality meals. The ideas are interesting, but youre kinda missing the mark. FYI. Ive eaten in quality restaurants everywhere here and there and sll over the world...

Im.sirry but for your prices I would expect more from your food. Worst cobb salad ever I had to ask for more chicken. Nachos were small and had to ask for more. Service was ok but still waited at least 7 min before we were acknowledged. Sorry will not be returning to your establishment anytime

Tried the prime rib burger with the garden salad.it was excellent. Messy but thats expected for a high quality burger.i will definitely go back. Really tasty.:)

Decent place. I liked the food. They tolerated a large group with a sports team and parents. They messed up some of the bills. They also didn t mention they added a gratuity and many people tipped on top. Some people caught this and got money back but many didn t. That s a super important detail to get right.

Tacos lacked meat, fries which were extra were skimpy for the cost. Burger on the other hand looked very good. Service was a little slow and unfriendly. No I dont think Ill be returning.

Overall been here a handful of times its one of my favorites but sadly the server we had was not really a server... She had 2 other people bring our food and was really disorganized but regardless was very kind food was great for mains and chili lime prawns were fabulous the stuffed jalapeno peppers were kinda cold and flavorless still a great place to eat though

The ambience, cleanliness and the customer service is 5/5. We tried the Seafood Linguini, cioppino, cheesesteak burrito and the enchiladas. The food is meh coming all the way from Houston, Texas and having enjoyed various Mexican/Latin cuisine, the food here is subpar at best.

Made reservations to spend Valentines supper at SoCal. Service was prompt, our server was lovely and knowledgeable. Our food was absolutely amazing and the dessert of the night was an in house made strawberry chocolate cheesecake and it did NOT disappoint!! Huge rave to socal I will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available!

Sandwich and soup was absolutely top tier. I believe it was called the Caprese sandwich. 10/10. Service was fast and friendly, definitely will come back soon when travelling to Campbell River.

Came here for supper last min. Got in right away. Staff was super friendly and observant of us at all times. Food was great. Had tortilla chips and dip for a starter. Wonderful fresh chips Had carne tacos Again very good and of course Churros for dessert. Really good Only thing I would say is that it is advertised for date night. Kinda too noisy for that but noise also means good food that keeps ppl coming back. We are here from Alberta and this has quickly become a go to place while here Aislinn. Was our server and was wonderful Kid-friendliness: Seen lots of ppl with kids. Didn t see any issues

When first arriving, and after waiting 30 minutes I was offered seat beside the live band....ummmm, no. I want to hear my husband talk thanks. I opted wait another 10 minutes. Noticed the heater by patio. Why not open the patio and turn on heater? Had fajitas. Really good.

Overall consistent food but still not as good as any mexican food found in the USA. Prices arent bad but the service is slowish, so dont be in a hurry.

Tuesday is taco nite. 3 large seafood tacos for $14 and a Hoynes dark. Very nice pub atmosphere. Patio sits right off the highway so thats a downer.

Nice restaurant with quick service. Beer on tap and also various bottles. Tasty Mexican dishes. Also delicious salads. Also some pasta dishes with fish. We went back the next day to eat again.

Freaking delicious! The churros are life and the best I have ever had outside Mexico. The drinks were strong and fruity and they had bottle kokanee so my partner was very happy. We came over from Vancouver and this was the first stop we made and we are VERY glad we did. The seafood cioppino was delicious. I made my guy come again the next day because I needed more churros. Now Im sad and may just have to move to Campbell River just because of socal I almost forgot the steak bites!!!! They were so tender and flavourful well worth the visit and we are already planning another trip!! Wait.. Cant forget the waiter we had he was great and made our experience all the better very attentive and when you ran out of blue caracuso he was quick to suggest something else and when he saw I wasnt as happy with that drink as I was with my previous ones he got me sprite to make it not as strong ..that was also at closing time we never felt rushed and we were treated like regulars. Thanks for making our mini vacation a great one!

Its fine if youre hungry. We were seated at a table that was kind of in the middle of everything with people constantly passing by and opening/closing the door and at some point leaving it fully open, which made our food get cold really fast. Half of my quesadillas had guacamole, half didnt. Our waiter was nice.

The waitress could not have cared less and couldnt even pull off a smile. Maybe a bad day for her but the nachos were not cheesy and the salsa arrived in a thimble so we wont be back.

DELICIOUS! lol Seriously. Ive been here a few times now, they used to have good daily specials until they cheaped out and limited their appy specials to the least favorite options...the good is staff for the most part.... the food is tastey and their hot wings... well Im never excited about some bird parts in Franks but thats not these wings, whatever the kitchen has concocted as a hot sauce is wonderful! The mussels and classic sauce is delish and those are just the appys... they also have fun live music!

We eat here often. Restaurant offers Southern California based menu. Plenty of indoor seating plus they have good size patio. Prices are average. Craft brew on tap, live entertainment on weekends.

Great local restaurant with well priced drink specials and awesome staff! Limited vegetarian options. We had veggie tacos there once, but they were only a promo item. Bring back your black bean tacos, they were awesome!!

Nice place with a patio, but the patio doesnt have a great view. Food was decent, service was slightly slow but everywhere is struggling with staff shortages so that may have been a contributing factor. Good place to hang out with friends, with a nice tropical vibe.

Excellent ceasars!

They need to change the name to SoBad. Last week my wife and I ate here and everything was just bad, except the service the waitress was very friendly, prompt and even refunded my meal. The drinks where flavorless, my wife had the Caesar and it came with a cold piece of greasy bacon. We had the poppers as a starter and they were undercooked at lacked seasoning. We shared the enchiladas and that was just gross. The rice was overcooked, and blah. The Enchiladas were drowng in greasy cheese and blah, no flavor. I would never eat here again.

I have no idea what the last review was talking about but looking at his other reviews of restaurants in the past he seems tough to please. SoCal is awesome. The people are great. The food is wonderful and always enjoyable. Weve never had a problem or a bad meal. Everyone I have ever recommended to go there has loved It. 5 stars!

Was excited to try this place, (July 17th at 5pm ) nice location and setting. However, after being seated, our server (Connie) was quite abrupt and appeared unhappy to be there. We went for food, but ended up leaving after one drink. She did not ask if i wanted to make my drink a double, which is what i would have stated if she had not shot off. Litetally trying to spend money and nothing! Oh well. It was very warm that day and we were not even offered water, which is a basic standard in this hot weather. It was uncomfortable so we left. As we were leaving, the restaurant greeter was busy on her phone, which is unprofessional and on company time. Will maybe try it again some time, as long as we have a different server as the food looked good. The lady who walked us to our table on the cute patio, was very polite and patio was nice in the sun.

Ate there twice, Breakfast and Dinner. Loved the Huevos Rancheros! and the server was friendly and cheerful.

Portions are pretty decent and I LOVE that they have tater tots! The martinis were on the small side for being full price but nice atmosphere. Overall well definitely be going back.

Food was really good and the tequila flights were fun to have. Unfortunately 3 of the shots had fruit flies floating at the bottom but the server replaced them right away. Really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant, will totally be back next time we re in town!

Came from Edmonton and wanted to try a caesar here and some food. Was very disappointed in the mexican nachos. No flavor and were boring, sent them back. Mussels were okay. Had none of the ceasars advertised or coronitas. Wondered how you have a sign outside but cant supply the drink you are advertising. Paid our bill and went elsewhere.for lunch.

I was excited to bring my mom to SoCal as there really are not that many good places to eat In CR and I had a good experience a few years back. The main purpose was to come for the supreme, famous Cesar s, and have a couple bulldogs with Mexican type of food. All in all, they had no fixings for the Cesar, no coronita s for bulldogs and the food was a shame. Paid the bill and went to the riptide.

I dont know what the negative reviews were about, cause our dining experience was great. Our server, Tracy, was fabulous. Making sure everything we wanted was great. The ambiance and decor were superb. Had outdoor heated dining for those who desired. We ordered the Chipotle Burrito. (Enormous) vary tasty. Served with taco chips and an amazing house made salsa. My wife had the chicken enchiladas and said they were great too. Our next time back to Campbell River, this is a definite.

If you like Caesar s and are hungry, try their Caesar of the week! Mine had a slider, yam fries and a cupcake.

Food was over cooked, but palatable. Had fish and chips, but fish tasted like it was cooked in dirty oil. Our server was in credible though. Will go back for another try one day.
