Get away from the busy day-to-day life and let the movement of this Floating Restaurant calm your senses! Surround yourself in nature and connect with the marine life floating underneath you as you enjoy a meal on the sunny patio. Our longstanding dedicated Chefs have created a delicious versatile menu with many local Seafood dishes, as well as some of your favourite comfort foods. Reservations highly recommended! While enjoying your meal keep a look out on the water as the inside passage is home to many whales, sea lions, otters and not to forget our resident seals.
Happy to rediscover this place! Great atmosphere and fantastic service. My only complaint was WAY too much dressing on the tuna bowl. But great dinner overall, will definitely be back!
This was a lovely restaurant to stop by while on Vancouver Island. It definitely helped that we got to see cute baby seals hanging out in the water while eating. The veggie quesadillas were filling and flavorful. My friends who had the halibut really enjoyed it too. The staff highlighted that all the salad dressings were made in-house, the Yogurt & Miso Ginger dressings were fresh and balanced. The service was good and the ambience was relaxing.
Amazing food, amazing service. A tad pricey but you're starting to inch into the remote part of the island here so not too surprising, and it's a targeted restaurant. Time your visit with the passing of a cruise ship if you want to eat on a roller coaster.
Was a little sceptical on the drive down to the restaurant but it was well worth it. We had a friendly patient server gave us lots of time to make our decision. The food came quickly and was very good.
I hit this place up every year now. Great seafood. Hot pot, risotto, mushroom caps and fish tacos are all must do's! Staff are amazing and even when it's hopping busy. Kids menu has all ur lil deckhands favorites. Dock for boat access or a short drive off the main hwy 5mins north of Campbell river down a very well maintained and graded gravel road. Worth the trip!!! See what the locals are catching, luck out and see the orcas cruise by or just hang on the sandy beach and watch the 3 resident seals get fed.
This is a 30 min drive from Campbell River, including 5km of gravel road. It was a unique place to visit and the view is wonderful. There is some outdoor seating and indoor. We sat at a booth by a window - the bench was too far from the table. Indoor decor is rather plain - you are there for good food. I enjoyed the shellfish pot. Calamari was tender & delicious. My husband thought the salmon burger needed more spice. I like the fact that desserts are created by chef with no set menu. I had berry flan - it needed more flavour. The chocolate tort was great.
I have been to numerous places in search of the perfect photographic spot for Vancouver island beauty. In my opinion Browns bay floating restaurant is on the best for scenic beauty and great dining. The staff is great and the location to die for.
Always great food and service here; we've been visiting Brown's Bay RV park for 12 or so years and we usually have 2-3 meals here during our stay. The seafood fettuccine is our favorite (it's excellent), but the burgers are great as are the fish and chips. Same goes for the cocktails, we've had really good Ceasars in the past. :-)
Absolutely outstanding. The food is to die for, the view is extremely beautiful, and the service is fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Visiting from Florida we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere
Great views, great food, great service. And a beautiful sunny day to enjoy it all.
Best service, certainly worth the drive from campbell river try the apples!
Got fish n chips, the soggy batter was horrible, when asked server, told its because of oil and the fish.. come on, never ever have I had this soggy.. so dissapointed, i couldnt eat it... the calarmi batter was so thick, not light fluffy... couldnt eat it either.. many pcs stuck together and raw batter..inside.. left hungry.. ..
Awesome place, good service and delicious food. Chowder wasnt my fav but everything else was top notch
Great seafood fettuccini ! Nice craft beers and cocktails with a view on the discovery passage at Brown Bay I am happy
This review is based solely on my most recent visit here. Previously it has been 10/10. In this instance, the waiter got 2 items on our order wrong (3 people in our group) it almost seemed like they couldnt wait to be done with their shift (albeit we did go close to closing), the food was lackluster compared to previous visits. But the views, the vibe, the feel of floating on a dock eating your dinner? Thats unbeatable. Wheelchair accessibility: If it is accessible at all, it will be tricky, you have to navigate dock ramps, boardwalks, all while on a marina.
Had dinner here one evening while staying at the resort. Ordered a cup of clam chowder soup and rockfish and fries for an entree. The soup was more like vegetable soup with a few clams in it. Pretty bland tasting. The rock fish was moist and flaky. However, the fries were greasy and the cole slaw was extremely bland. Not very impressed by my meal. The server was good and the window view was nice.
The last two times we were here it was very good, but last night things were much different. Service was poor. Blackened halibut sandwich had a paper thin piece of halibut for $28 and the chowder was very bland. Would not recommend this place anymore.
Had a perfect rib eye speak and crab. Then the warm brownie and ice cream for desert. And of course the view!
been excited to try this place forever... we were disappointed that we paid 50 bucks for a barely legal crab with next to no meat in the legs... fish batter was soggy.. wasnt what we hoped for...
Found this gem today! The food was amazing, our waiter was awesome and we ended up being entertained by 6 seals as we were leaving.
Great place be on beautiful sunny day, sitting outside to enjoy great service and people. Note there is 5km gravel road in if visiting by road.
Great staff Great seafood
It could not have been a nicer evening sitting outside overlooking the harbor and across the strait. I had two piece halibut and fries and it was very good. Worth the drive out to Browns Bay.
Spectacular food. Clearly fresh seafood prepared right. Highly recommend
By far the best seafood pasta/fish & chips weve ever had! The staff are so great here and you cant beat location
Great outdoors environmnet. Scenery is outstanding!
Really enjoyed the food, service and the views. They allowed me to bring my dog on a hot day on the outdoor patio.
Extremly friendly staff, great view, delicious food! Best Poutine I ve ever had!
Great food and friendly service! Views are fantastic! Parking: Lots of parking!
I ordered the prime rib burger and my partner ordered the rockfish tacos and both were 10/10. Came up super quick, lovely staff and delicious food with an amazing view.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. A cant miss meal destination.
First of all the food here is awesome to say the least! Service was second to none. Now you throw in that this restaurant is floating in Browns Bay! They have inside seating, but on those beautiful days there is plenty of outdoor seating, now you are surrounded by amazing views, the ocean, the forest, look across to Quadra Island. As well as watch some pretty nice boats cruise by. And if youre lucky a couple of seals may be checkin you out, not to mention the possibility of a whale siting! Its a must see!
So good. Highly recommend
Great restaurant wish it was busier so it was open more often
Food its great, but service was slow.
The Narrows Floating resturant is a gem! Beautiful location right on the water and the view is outstanding. I ate here twice during my visit to Browns Bay and each time the food was amazing. Definitely order the fish & chips and the calamari. Good variety of food and drinks and the service was great! The server was very friendly and the resturant is doing a great job keeping their customers spaced out and safe. I cant wait to come back.
Just a heads up they have significantly increased there prices an have made smaller portions!! They now charge $50 for one crab with toast and fries !!!! Thats it .... Used to be $30 and came with baked potatoes and all the fixings. Really sad as we will no longer be making the drive out there for a $50 single crab.
We had fish and chips and chicken burgers. Great portion sizes for the cost. Service was a pinch slow but to be expected with only 2 servers. The habanero sauce is not to be messed with! Serious stuff!
Food was nice, view is great, service slow, music too loud.
Fantastic view, great food, fast service, would recommend!
Wonderful place and definitely the best cuisine for 2 weeks on Vancouver Island Seafood at absolutely fair prices. It doesnt get any fresher. Super nice staff! Thanks guys for the best seafood we had over two weeks over the Island. It was a pleasure for us to find your beautiful place.
I have eaten here several times. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. The Caesars are good and spicy. The burger is great. The view is great too.
Arrived without reservation and told to wait outside for a few minutes and she would try to get us a table. A couple comes later, gets a table after waiting about 5 minutes. OK maybe they have a reservation. A second couple comes, I hear them say they have no reservation, 5 minutes later they get a table. So I speak to the other waiter (male) and he promises to talk to the women who promised us a table. 10 minutes go by. Again I speak the male waiter and he say there should be a table shortly. More time goes by and we give up. After 40 minutes of being ignored I decide not to support your restaurant.
Diamond in the ruff, server sam is the man
outstanding
Food is decent, albeit a bit pricey. Service is pretty terrible though, with staff almost never attending tables after serving the food, except to remove plates or deliver the bill. The location is clean and often empty, making it rather quiet.
Gorgeous view, great service & tasty salmon burger!
We had clams and mussels steamer. Both are over cooked and didnt taste fresh at all. Quite disappointed with the quality of the seafood.
Amazing all u can eat crab. We ate for 3 hours straight. Yummy.
Great food and amazing views!
Absolutely loved it here!
Great food, fantastic view, most of the food is locally sourced and made from scratch. Wonderful and friendly service. They are seasonal may to mid october but worth the drive. Reserve ahead as sometimes they can be quite busy if you want a window table.
Excellent restaurant at Browns Bay, north of Campbell River. We had an excellent clam chowder and fish and chips. In season, they do a all-you-can-eat Dungeness crab feast. Didnt have the opportunity to try it but, hey its Dungeness crab, how could you go wrong?
Closing day is tomorrow after the Chum derby, and the awesome people that work in the kitchen went out of their way today for me. WOW, and THANK YOU!!!!!! The tzatziki you made was fantastic, and thank you again.
Awesome place great and friendly staff great view
Fishermans fog is the best coffee I ever had. Great service, breath taking views and on the way to restaurant dont forget to say hi to sealions
Delicious cuisine, highly recommended location
Amazing service. Fantastic food. My wife had the all you can eat crab and enjoyed it and I had a burger. If you get a brownie get it warmed up with ice cream it tastes amazing.
Came here with my wife and 2 hungry girls. We order to appys to split with kids both 16 dollars range and both could fit in a cup. We then order halibut and chips the fish could fit in a McDonaldssmall burger bun and enough fries to compliment it. Really disappointed dont mind paying for a good meal but this was bellow par.
Great service, we had a delicious breakfast
It doesnt get fresher.
