Rue De Bethamny St. Thomas, 00802, U.S. Virgin Islands
Cajun cuisine, with New Orleans flair. Located in the heart of Frenchtown, St. Thomas
Wandering around and happened upon this bistro. Best meal I’ve had on St Thomas! Wings for starter, saucy and delicious. Cup of gumbo and I was hooked. Dark roux, rice perfect and seasoned to perfection. Shrimp and grits for main course was spot on. Light layer of gravy, perfect combo of cheesy, buttery grits and perfectly buttered, seasoned and cooked shrimp. Definitely recommend!
Great company and good food. They make the best lemon drop I’ve ever had!!! I was in awe! The service is great, these people care about their customers and I love that! When I’m back on the island, they’re def on my list of priority places I’d visit.
We were waiting to check into our air bnb and came in off a redeye flight. the fried zuchinni was light crispy and not greasy. i had the special salad w/c had greek vibes and the Mr had jambalaya - all 3 were delicious. our server had such knowhow of the area and answered all our questions. . Full of friendly locals 👍🏽 . That Alvin’s Sauce is good tho 🥰
Dropped in for lunch. My son got a fish po boy (snapper) - was huge and delicious. I got a cup of andouille and mushroom soup, which was incredible! Also got a Greek salad with shrimp special. Salad was great and shrimp was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend! Will be back for sure
We saved this restaurant for our last night on the island, but don't feel like it lived up to its hype. The shrimp and grits had almost no flavor to be "Cajun with a New Orleans flair." To be fair, there were nine large shrimp on the plate, so the price was very reasonable. The gumbo was very tasty but the spices masked the classic okra and tomato base. The coconut shrimp were also very large and cooked well. All in all, we probably shouldn't have come expecting the flavors we know and love from many visits to the Crescent City.
We had a great dinner here, the food was good and the waiter was great as well. I took one point off for atmosphere because we were seated right next to the loud kitchen entrance when half the restaurant was empty and we had to ask to move to another table, the waiter seemed annoyed at the request, but he got over it. We started with French onion soup and a salad, both were great. We then had the filet with red wine reduction (without the blue cheese topper) and the Salmon, again both were wonderful. Lastly we ended with the bananas foster bread pudding and the cheesecake, they were both amazing. All the food here seemed fresh and had amazing flavor. There is a reason this place has the reputation that it does. Our food was around $150 for 2 people plus gratuity so definitely not cheap either. This is definitely a top place to eat on St. Thomas.
Went to French Quarter Bistro for dinner tonight. Was just OK, not up to the hype in some of the reviews… we arrived early for our reservation, which was no problem, because the restaurant was mostly empty at the time. We were seated quickly and Vicki, our waitress, came by immediately and took drink orders, and provided information about the nightly specials. Service was good, attentive, but not intrusive. We ordered a gin martini and escargot as an appetizer. The cocktail was good, the escargot not so much. The escargot was presented in a low rimmed dish in a watered down butter sauce. The dish did not have much flavor. The tasted garlic bread on the side was great!! We also added a bottle of chablis to finish the dinner. The wine was served at the appropriate temperature and was good. One observation about the wine list… It is comprised of mostly large producers, who emphasize volume over quality, so while there is something for everyone on the wine list, it is not that impressive. For dinner, we ordered the sea bass special and the local snapper, blackened. The Seabass was very good, accompanied by a vegetable risotto. The fish was prepared well, but the sauce on top was very bland. The local snapper, blackened, was overcooked, and the fish was a bit tough. The sides of corn and rice were well prepared, but again lacked depth of flavor. For dessert, we ordered the pecan pie, à la mode… The ice cream was delicious, but the pie was just OK. All in all, it was an OK meal, the price was not bad, but we likely would not go back, given the other dinner options on the island. The place is loud, New Orleans piano music in the background (think Scott Joplin), the building is in need of repairs (the ceiling in the men’s room is caving in). Just not a well kept place…
We dined at French Quarter Bistro during our vacation in St Thomas. To say the food was excellent is an understatement! We had the blackened red snapper, seasoned rice, and moax chow. We also had the pork chop which was huge and my wife said it was juicy and very seasoned. Our daughter had the shrimp pasta alfredo and she said it was great. For dessert, I had the banana's foster bread pudding. Hands down the best bread pudding I've ever had! The food was amazing, great portions, and full of flavor. Along with great food, the service was top notch! If you are ever in St Thomas do yourself a favor and visit one of the best restaurants on the island, French Quarter Bistro!
We ordered filet minion and French onion soup. Both were delicious. They have good wine by glass selection.
Incredible food and even better staff Brenda was my waitress. She was new but very personable and informative. Great vibe throughout the restaurant will definitely be back.
We had a great experience at French Quarter Bistro. The food was delicious and our server, Brenda, very helpful helping us decide on our meal.
Claudia was great!
Great, amazing, delicious, strongly recommend. Best restaurant I ve been to on the island so far
Food is fantastic. Best etouffe and gumbo Ive had ever. Everything we had tried was top notch. We had the shrimp and grits and coconut shrimp in addition to a few appetizers. Casual atmosphere so perfect for families.
Have been coming here for almost 3 years. Got Carlos to help us. He suggested a wine , dont know if he knows wine. Tasted like it had been open for a while. He admitted it was. Returned it. Erin on the other end was attending us more then Carlos. Bringing food, clearing plated ,even bringing us a spoon for the gumbo we got with no spoon.? Very poor service.Hats off to Erin. He deserves the credit for helping us. Miles was absent. Food was excellent (main dish) as always. Didnt care for Rice and corn on the side. With a Snapper? Doesnt go. Some fresh veggies would have been perfect instead. Dont know if we have a new management or a new chef.
The gumbo at French Quarter Bistro is a delightful experience. The generous portion and authentic taste make it a must-try for any gumbo lover. Make sure you stop by the bar and grab a bowl from Erik who always provides great service. Highly recommended!
Charlie and his team crushed it. I was starving so I didn t get any pictures of what we had. Started with the crab cakes yum not to much filling and the zucchini which were fire especially with the sauce. I ordered like a fat kid got the beet salad, corn side and French onion soup. Beets were cooked perfectly. Texture and flavor was amazing and that is hard to do. French onion soup hit a comfort zone in my soul and the corn had a lovely amount of sweet spice. The others got steak that looked to be cooked perfectly mashed looked so velvety. The pork chop the pork chop with the beans and rice woof. The guys ordered dessert but I literally was super full no way. Definitely going to return! Thank you Charlie and team for a exceptional meal!
One of the best dining experiences Ive ever had. Highly recommend trying it if you have the opportunity.
Came here for a dinner service was excellent they served us so fast and the food was amazing. I would def recommend visiting we had the crab cakes and the strip steak reasonable price.
Food and service was great! While we waited for our food we spied some of the beautiful art scattered about the establishment.
Absolutely amazing dinner. The pork chop was so delicious and moist beyond belief.
Carlos took such good care of us and made us feel welcome throughout the evening. The food was amazing and we enjoyed the shrimp and grits, the French onion soup, escargot and eggplant pasta. However, the highlight was the gumbo with local hot sauce. Thank you again, Carlos!
Our group of workers eat here almost daily, Eric and the lady waitress(dont know her name) are always pleasant and remember our drinks. Mostly, get daily specials and burgers for lunch, delicious
This was such a pleasant little bistro. Nice atmosphere where local folks come to have a great meal and chat. Not loud but you can hear conversations. The tuna steak appetizer was incredible, some of the best tuna steak I have ever enjoyed. If your on the USVI swing by, you will leave well fed. Solid 4.5 stars.
Went on recent trip came straight from airport to eat before going to the ferry for St Johns. I had the BBQ shrimp and grits, dont recommend. My friend had the jambalaya which was very good.
Amazing food
We ordered burgers and fries, but they were great!!
Good food great service!
Great, friendly service and amazing food. Always a family favorite dining experience Kid-friendliness: No kids menu, but have great pasta dishes kids would love Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from parking lot through front door.
Down in USVI for a week and staying just up the road. We have been twice so far. The food is very good. Crawfish Etoufee and Mahi were so well prepared. Amazing. We also tried the gumbo and French onion soup which were equally delicious. The crab cakes are only OK. As for desserts the beignets, pecan pie and bananas foster bread pudding were top notch. Service is friendly and there are plenty of staff to make this efficient.
Miles was wonderful great service. Good food
Great food, friendly service. Would definitely come back.
Our last day in the islands was elevated to 5 stars when Claudette greeted us at the front desk with smiles and laughter than instantly made us feel welcome and a part of the FB family! She is gorgeous! And a true asset to your business. Food was excellent! Carlos was helpful with the menu and prompt with service.
OMG! They did not disappoint. It s amazing
Awesome food and service. Would highly recommend for anyone coming to the island
Food is outstanding i drive aceoos the island just to go
When we walked in, we thought we had made a huge mistake in choosing this place. There was no host or hostess in sight for three to five minutes. After we were seated, the waitress who served us was attentive, and the food came out reasonably quickly. The food was at the perfect temperature and tasted great! We had the jambalaya and blackened shrimp poboy. If youre a fan of New Orleans cuisine, please stop by the French Quarter Bistro the next time youre in St. Thomas!
My favorite place in St Thomas for lunch and cold beer. Never lets me down.
Location was good. Food was delicious. Our server was so nice and pleasant.
We were looking for something off property and found this place it wasn t our first or even third choice but I m glad we found it. The food was great, it has the feel of New Orleans but still true to its roots of VI. The main reason for my review is bc of Miles. He was the gentleman that waited on us and really made the whole experience. By the time we left he was my son s best friend. Miles really has been the highlight of our vacation, as soon as I talk to family he s the first thing I tell them about. My son hasn t eaten a whole meal the whole time we ve been dwn here but every time Miles would come by my son couldn t wait to show him he was eating his food. My son kept asking where is my friend. This gentleman truly is them gem of the island. Thanks again for a wonderful evening Miles, Easton says hello. PS, get the beignets. You will regret it if you don t. Parking: Great parking, small lot but plenty. Kid-friendliness: Miles will be sure you re kids enjoy themselves Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy access
We lost our reservation at another restaurant and our cab driver brought us here. It was outstanding. It is a locals kind of place but tourist and families do not need to be intimidated. The food and service was excellent. I cant wait to go back.
Awesome food. Great service, always. Love this place.
Came here on vacation. Waitress was very good. All of our food was top notch. Restaurant is a little dark but otherwise very nice. Would go again.
Had a good experience at this restaurant. Its difficult to find good, sit down restaurants with nicer meal options on the island, especially on the western half. So we have this place a try. There were six, no reservations. They balked a little bit even though they werent that busy and it was about 6pm on a Saturday. They seated us at a table that we were mostly comfortable at. Lisa was our server and she pretty much recited the whole menu for us with some detail over what the menu said. She was very thorough and very helpful. Most of us either got the strip steak or braised ribs. All of them cooked to order. The grits served with the ribs were spicy, though I only heard that from the others I was with. Im not sure what the menu stated about them. I got the bourbon strip steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. You received two stalks of asparagus (3 or 4 would have been better considering the price) and a decent serving of mashed potatoes. The potatoes were good but a little bland. The steak was very good. I also ordered a Caesar salad, which was very good. However, it was drowning is dressing. As I left, I noticed a wedge salad that was finished and had lots of extra dressing on the plate. I would ask for half the dressing or on the side next time. Overall, a good experience of you want a better sit down option on the island.
Ever since the new owner arrived it haven t been the same.
During our visit in January 2024, we arrived without reservations and were able to sit at the bar to eat. Oddly, many tables were vacant and remained vacant. Anyway, the food and cocktails were excellent and not over priced. Very good local flavors and seemed frequented more by locals than tourists. Food
Had a very positive experience at French Quarter Bistro last week for Dinner!! I totally enjoyed a taste of New Orleans with my Gumbo appetizer and Shrimp & Grits entree. Finished off with Beignets for dessert - It had been a while since I had visited this St. Thomas restaurant and I was very pleased with everything about it, and plan to return soon. Nicely done, Charlie and the entire staff - its nice to have another exceptional dining option to enjoy.
Delicious food and attentive service. The short ribs will melt in your mouth. Ordered the beignets for the table and nearly didn t share them.
Delicious jambalaya and shrimp & grits.
Loved everything we ordered. Shrimp and Grits were great as well as the Po Boy sandwich. The Bananas Foster Bread Pudding is spectacular. The Beignetts arent on the menu, but they make them.
Had a lovely dinner at FQB! Service was on point & attentive. Thank you Lisa! Food was delicious, hot, and appropriately timed. Nice atmosphere and wonderful evening from the start with the ease of parking to the wonderful Coffee & desert! Thank You!
Absolutely lovely.
Locals recommended and food was good, had the stuffed snapper with pimento cheese grits and brussel sprouts. Not a ton of French Bistro options but the options are still good. Imagine New Orleans with a Caribbean vibe
Be sure to ask for Miles, fantastic energy and knowledge. Food is very good, the pork chop is thick and juicy, and I could have it with a soy allergy, along with French Onion Soup, which is good, needs a bit more of a heart flavor. Great experience with 6 of us.
A wonderful find! Excellent service and food was marvelous! Save room for the deserts also! Loved the music and the over setting of the place. Just FYI it s the yellow building by the ball park!
Food is amazing! Very good!
Another visit to this restaurant in the past 3 months and still loving it! The Shrimp Po Boy was delicious and enough for lunch the next day. Take home beignets were delicious later in the evening. I ll be going back soon
One of best meals I have ever had on st Thomas
Loved my visit to this little Bristro. It had a down-home vibe. The food was excellent, and the bartender Erik was awesome. I would go back just to visit with him!
Delicious!
Great food, great atmosphere, good prices. The service was really good and our food came out quick. Definitely worth it for anyone visiting the ST thomas or locals!
This restaurant was a last minute choice for us. They recommended reservations (which we didnt have); but they were generous to squeeze my honey and I in. I have had my fair share of steaks, but this one is by far one of the best have had (it was the burbon one) my honey got the other steak and he agrees, one of the best. We got crabs cakes as an appetizer, no complaints.
Exceptional food! Pleasant staff and lovely atmosphere. The bourbon strip steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The short ribs with pimento cheese was a total flavor bomb! Would absolutely go back.
Enjoyed it
Cheyenne was amazing!
All right of a place has ok food, and the atmosphere feels damp and slightly claustrophobic even though it was mostly empty and chill. Im not sure, It feels like overated might have come again and give it another go.
Miles (Myles?) Our waiter was cordial, knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Pleasure to be served by. The food was superb, though the ribs were more bone and fat than meat. No issues with adjusting the bill to rectify this concern.
All I can say is, if ever in St. Thomas you have to swing by here. Grab a reservation and ask for Miles as your seriver.
It was the best dining experience I had in St. Thomas the food great and Employees truly cared and were very kind. I give the food a five star and I give the service a five star. I think I ll come back tomorrow and see Lisa the server she was awesome!
First, we were greeted in the parking lot by Dom who explained the restaurant, menu and added some enthusiastic charm. We were sat in Lisa s section and she continued to elevate the experience with tremendous and attentive service (the best we ve had on the island). The food was impressive as well. Portions were within expected and the flavor of everything we had (steak, crab cakes, French onion soup, half chicken, accompaniments and dessert (brownie) were fantastic. I d you are on this part of the island (we were the day before we flew out), you should make this a must try. Well done all! Best food experience we ve had in our two trips. Dietary restrictions: They also assisted in making my daughter s gluten sensitivity a priority. Thank you!
Hamburger & fries were excellent. Burger cooked to perfection ! Service was spectacular ! Waiter Erick quick fast & very friendly ! I would highly recommend this restaurant !!
Great French creole! Etofee, short rib, and tuna were all delicious. Excellent service. Highly recommended. Food : 5/5 |
We had lunch here today and there were 4 in our party. All of us had a great meal, service was excellent too! We had po boys and shrimp and grits. Highly recommend shrimp and grits! Then the bread pudding was phenomenal. We really enjoyed it.
My wife and I went here almost everyday of lur honeymoon! Expect to pay for what you get, but you will get the best! The cheesecake is particularly amazing! The best cheesecake, I have every had, excessively creamy! The red snapper is also very excellent, if you have to choose one place to treat someone, this is the only choice!
Our waiter, Miles, was so nice and funny! For food we ordered - chicken Alfredo, lamb shank, and chicken creole pasta. It all was so delicious! The cheesecake and brownie are great for desert. My only complaint is on first impression, the place isnt inviting. That said, dont let it sway you from trying it! You wont be disappointed.
Cute spot for delicious food. The shrimp and grits were fantastic and the po boys were huge and delicious. Enjoyed some beignets to finish off our meal.
The atmosphere of this place is pure trash. We came in and the manager yelled at us for following her we thought she had our seats and instead she yelled at us and we left! Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
Dietary restrictions: Catered to my diabetes Parking: Get there early!!! Food : 5/5 |
The owner of Frenchtown Brewery recommended Frenchtown Bistro. We visited for a later lunch and so happy we did! The server was awesome and the food was fabulous! 2 of us had their salad special (Wednesday special), 1 jambalaya and 1 the snapper po boy sandwich. Highly recommend!
Food was amazing! And so as our waiter Miles, he is the best!
The food was absolutely delicious amazing, Prices a little high but its worth it for the food that you get
We had lunch here and it was delicious. According to my wife, the jambalaya was the best shes ever had. My son had the shrimp and grits and he wiped his plate clean. We ended the lunch with the banana foster bread pudding and it was lovely. Highly recommended.
Perfect local spot for some delicious and reasonably priced food with generous portions. Crab cakes, etouffee, shrimp alfredo, and the bread pudding were all fantastic. Lisa is super friendly and a wonderful personality to take care of you for the meal.
The staff was very rude and the silverware was dirty
Friendly service, takes suggestions well and always on time.
Upon Arrival it was packed yet we were seated promptly. The service was top notch and food was fantastic! First time being there DEFINITELY coming back!
The food here was so amazing that we went again before heading back to the airport. The fish po boy (snapper) was the best fish I ve ever had, and the jambalaya is amazing! Service was awesome too.
Excellent food and very flexible staff.
Our waiter was amazing and welcoming. Food was excellent
Really nice place to eat. Eric was a great server. Ordered the wings, steak and frites. My wife had shrimp and grits. All of it was absolutely delicious. Didnt have room for dessert but we had banana bread pudding with a rum sauce that was total interdimensional.
Amazing food and ambience. I got the beets salad and New Orleans shrimp and grits. Definitely we would be back.
Friendly and attentive staff; great local foods and dessert...we will be back in the future.
It was busy, make reservations if you want to go. We got in pretty fast. We got steak, it was good, but the cheese cake was amazing. Couldnt wait to take a picture of the cheese cake.
The service was great. Our server, Miles, had a great attitude and was very attentive. The snapper was good and so was the salad and dessert. The French onion soup was ok at best, I will not order it again.
This place is amazing!
We dined here several times over two month-long stays in St Thomas ... the food, service and ambience were consistently exceptional. Lisa is a stand-out waitress! Well worth a visit if youre on the island! Parking: parking is limited but they have a friendly attendant to help
My favorite meal of the whole vacation. Service was incredible, food came out fast & was delicious. I can t stress enough how wonderful the staff is. They were so friendly and professional it blew my mind. Can t wait to come back next time I m in St Thomas
Hands down, best dinner and service on the island during our week on St. Thomas! We ordered the coconut shrimp, fried zucchini (huge portion), blackened grouper, blacked tuna & Cajun shrimp, beignets & banana bread pudding. Everyone was extremely happy with every thing that was ordered. The service was amazing, prompt, and friendly. I wish we ate here for every meal! 100% recommend.
Our host Brenda was amazing!!. Beautiful personality
Claudette was fantastic! Great overall experience. Food was wonderful!!
Can t say enough about this great place ! Not only was the food top notch. We had such nice and attentive service !!!!! A+ short ribs, and the snapper with banana foster desert !
Excellent food. The shrimp and grits was a dish I would want several times a week. Well dine at there every night. Also the prices were reasonable when compared to other restaurants in the Virgin Islands.
Fantastic experience. I particularly enjoyed the Chicken and Andouille Gumbo! The Local Mahi was excellent. Our server was lovely.
We went there for dessert. The bread pudding was delicious beware because it was a large serving.
This place is so amazing. Its a hole in the wall type place, but ever since we went, its one of our favorite spots. Its indoors and cozy. The owner is so kind, service is amazing and the food is always on point. The zucchini app is to die for and the steaks are always cooked to perfection. We took my parents here for Christmas Eve and it was unbelievable. My father-in-law said this was the best meal he ever had which is saying a lot! Highly recommend!!
The fried chicken and waffles never fails. I love Jeremys customer service. He is always polite answering the phone and he handles the bar well!
Everyone told us we had to go to Oceana, and we did. Hands down this food is far better than Oceana. Came for dinner and ate at the bar - shrimp alfredo pesto and short ribs (and some gumbo)- absolutely delicious. We re about to go back for breakfast we enjoyed dinner so much much.
The atmosphere was lovely, our waiter was the best. Food was delicious nice wine menu. We enjoyed all are dishes and desert was excellent
We are in St. Thomas for one night before flying home. We heard the lady at our hotel mention this restaurant and then we were able to share a cab with others heading that way. Serendipity! Our server was AMAZING (wish I could remember her name). She went through the highlights of the entire menu to help us decide. Between us we had the French Onion soup, the wedge salad, crab cakes and the etouffee. All were large portions and delicious. My least favourite was the etouffee as the rice seemed way over cooked to me but my husband loved it. The crab cakes were wonderful and the wedge salad was half a head of iceberg! The highlight of the meal was the desserts. We had the bananas foster bread pudding with ice cream and the pecan pie with ice cream. I missed out on pics because we dove in. Both were out of this world!
Lisa our server was Awesome. Friendly and very helpful. Food was great!! Do not miss this place..
From the moment we arrived Audrey was there to greet us. He was a gracious host. From there. Lisa took care of us From start to finish! We had an amazing dinner and dessert. I couldnt say more about this restaurant. If you dont try it you are definitely missing out. Hope to see you again in October. Love you all. Trish and Scott Strohman.
Can highly recommend the food here. Especially their tuna salad and chicken salad.
The zucchini appetizer is a must!
Last night in St Thomas after a week...this was the best food by far. Service was great at the table . The hostess that is clearly cracked/methed out was not helpful or friendly and had several visitors off the street come whisper to her and they disappear for a while.. we had to wait an hour past our reservation and she was terrible at communicating what was going on. It was painful to watch her scratch her face and twitch. Interesting crowd here as there is a makeshift casino attached and has stragglers hanging outside and constantly coming in the waiting area/bathrooms and loitering around the entrance. If you can look past all that while you wait for your table, the food wont disappoint.
Always love taking our guests here. Excellent good, excellent atmosphere. The braised short ribs are my favorite!!
We had such great food and service here that we visited it twice everything was devine here. The best chicken fried chicken I have ever had in my life. The black bean soup delicious. I love the decor the food choices everything was on point.
Excellent food and friendly service at a fair price. I think this may be the best value meal Ive had in St Thomas.
My go to restaurant. Move their food and their fresh warm bread pudding, homemade cheesecake, Crab cakes, coconut shrimp keep me coming back for more.
I gave a triple five star because on St Thomas it is hard to find the perfect place and this place was pretty damn great. The food was excellent the people were excellent the Bananas Foster bread pudding was really dense and not typical of bread pudding didnt really love that but on Island sometimes their versions of things are not typical
Shrimp pasta was really good.
Had a great night there. Had a layover and had fun. I can see the servers face in my minds eye, very pleasant and always smiling...(just cant remember her name though. My bad! ) I has the 1/2 Chicken...it was good and filling. Ill go back!
Disappointed in coffee.
We had a wonderful night, the food was excellent, the staff fun and informative. The restaurant was charming in the French Quarter.
One of the best dinners i had in St Thomas. The staff was amazing.
Fried zucchini was fantastic
The place was packed when we arrived so we ended up at a table in the bar. Both the bar tender and hostess worked to take orders and deliver stuff. Food was good, portions were huge. Noise was very loud. Had to park well away from the restaurant.
Solid spot for good quality food with a French creole influence. Clean restaurant with decent staff.
Brunch was really really good. I had the Spicy chicken and waffles and my husband had the meat and cheese quiche. We also shared the berries and cream crepes and it was the best I had. They have mimosas too!
Everything Ive had at FQB has been excellent.
I have eaten here each time I visited the island. Everything has been top notch from brunch to lunch to dinner and dessert. The menu is fine dining quality and the vibe of the place is really upbeat. You will not be disappointed!!
First night in St. Thomas and we were fortunate enough to dicover the French Bistro. Our meals BBQ shrimp and grits and the red snapper were both excellent and reasonably priced. They also have a nice wine selection
Solid food; however: it s 2023: a bit more animal free / respectful food options would be appreciated. We have only one planet and only because animals cannot speak (or we cannot understand them), we shouldn t be allowed to torture, kill and eat them.
Solid pork chop with red beans and rice, and shrimp and grits were on point! The beignets were stellar!
Must go to when in St Thomas
This place is a MUST when visiting St. Thomas. The gumbo is out of this world!!! The double cut pork chop was DELICIOUS!!!! The pecan pie and vanilla bean cheesecake just made dinner even better!!! Ask for Miles for your server.
I was really impressed with the staff. We only made it for apps. The zucchini fries were a real treat.
Excellent service. Mr. Miles was very pleasant & professional. Thank u for making our experience 1000 % better from a previous one that wasnt so pleasant. Thank you to the owner for treating my parents like this so now they feel very comfortable to keep coming like they was before. Thank you kindly Turbe Family
Certain staff is great but understaffed by far! Food is good i must say. I went during carnival i was never greeted nor acknowledged.
Awesome food, friendly service...
Excellent service! Food was spot on, delicious and nice portions.
This place was amazing!! I wish I would ve taken pictures but I couldn t wait to eat it!!!! We had mimosas and the quiche and salmon crepe and apple pie crepe for dessert! All were so delicious. The staff was friendly, ambiance adorable!
No restaurant is perfect, but I am confident that Ive found one of my very favorite go-to places to stuff my face when I travel to St. Thomas. I AM a spoiled New Yorker, but its hard not to be when you live somewhere that you can order Turkish food at 3am on a Sunday and receive it well before sunrise. That not withstanding, this place is alright...! From the minute you are greeted by the host and sat down at your table to the useful smalltalk with your server you get the sense that you are in the midst of competant, confident professionals. The lady and I enjoyed a couple glasses of a riesling that was as good as any Ive ever tasted (I wont lie, I havent really tasted many) then we warmed up with crab cakes (excellent) and escargot (my first time around, not hers) and it was rather tasty. We both opted for the surf and turf entreé which was 4 or 5 large shrimp laid stop an 8oz strip steak with mashed potatoes and some asparagus. The strip steaks were well seasoned and the mash potatoes were quite enjoyable, but the asparagus couldve used some salt or something else to make it pop (I wouldnt give them any demerits for this and you probably shouldnt either, as Ive struggled to find anywhere that makes aspargus greatly and I even struggle to do so at home). All in all, we saunted away into the night air very satisfied, but not overstuffed and wouldnt you know, my bill was approximately the same as another nearby restaurant that we visited and found far less enjoyable. Give em a try. I think you might like em....
Really great food. Wine list has some real winners. Great service and reasonable prices. Go for it.
Quick and delicious!!
Outstanding dining experience, our server was great, and the food was delicious!
Excellent care went into consideration of menu pairings. Everything is highest quality and prices are very fair for what you get. Enough variety to choose whatever youre in the mood for that day. Heavier on wine selection than anything else but has a full bar. You can come dressed up or down. Best friendly service around too. Food came quickly. Only downside to this place that I will definitely be returning is, not good parking and after a little rain the whole street smelled like sewer and fish.
Every meal was awesome but the bineas were a bit off. Other than that everything was spot on.
We enjoyed a couple of meals here - one formal dinner in the dining room, and another po boy while sitting at the bar. Both were excellent and our waiters, Miles, was attentive and knowledgeable and had great suggestions for everything on the menu.
Great burgers! Thats all we go for. Sit at the bar with the rest of the locals. Kabitz with the bartenders. All good!
We have been to the French Quarter Bistro twice now. The food is wonderful. The portion sizes are VERY generous, and the service is outstanding. I cant wait until we can return.
Wonderful service, magnificent food! I was a bit skeptical about the French Quarter theme in St. Thomas, but French Quarter Bistro does not miss with authenticity! I highly recommend this restaurant and cant wait to go back!
French Quarter Bistro is one of the BEST restaurants on island! The food is very tasty and has a real Caribbean flavor for visiting guest to enjoy and experience St. Thomas! The staff is very professional and attentive. The owner and manager assists their staff as a team which enhances your dinning experience. I highly recommend that you dine a French Quarter Bistro! You won t be disappointed! Great job guys! Thank you for providing such a wonderful dinning experience!
Great food - nice staff. Decor is a little dingy.
Food was pretty good. The wait was hideous. I wouldn t go there unless you have a few hours to spare/waste waiting for your food . Parking: Street parking with limited spaces but can park on Main Street and walk to the restaurant
Oh come the heck on!! From being greated warmly by the hostess to Miles, our wonderful server, playfully recommending drinks and dinner options thru dessert the whole evening was amazing... so much so that we dined here twice, in 2 days The food is wonderful, as is the ENTIRE staff... this dining option is top shelf. Enjoy
The food was out of this world. Very relaxing atmosphere! Highly recommend the surf and turf! Audrey the manager was so friendly!
Delicious food! Staff was very friendly and had great recommendations! Portion sides were big/ could be split if you have two people who are not big eaters! We loved the shrimp Alfredo!
Great food with good prices especially brunch
Fantastic portion with totally reasonable price. Excellent service!! Probably the best restaurant on the island, totally beat those so called fine dining
This place is amazing! We had 2 of the best French onion soups weve ever had. I got the shrimp Alfredo (the sauce was to die for) and my brother got the shrimp creole (which he thoroughly enjoyed). The service was also fast (shoutout to Shayenne). Overall a very pleasant, well priced experience.
After having a humiliating experience at another restaurant the previous night, my guests and I made a reservation here for 13 people for our final night on vacation. I was nervous, but our waitress, an older white lady with a long ponytail and glasses., I wish I new her name who serviced us. Everything was perfect. Our person of the hour is 93 years youg, and almost all of her children were there and they flew in from the states as well for a surprise. The service was so good our person of the hour took out a tip herself..it was funny because this little old lady gave a 20, lol, she was so grateful even though we tipped our waitress waaaaay more, it was the fact that she was patient and kind with our and even took photos with our cameras for this lifetime memory. I plan to be back next year and this restaurant is top of the list. Im glad to do this review. Oh yeah the cheesecake was awesome. I ate one and took 1 to go. The steak can use some more work. The pasta was good.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is. Food
Best place on the island!
Oceana was closed that night so tried out this restaurant. Great food, excellent service and well be back!
Amazing, Food and one of the best restaurants in Charlotte Amalie. Miles makes the restaurant & experience!
Had an excellent experience dining here! Crab cakes, snapper and bourbon steak were delicious and well seasoned. Also recommend the bread pudding for dessert. Enjoyable atmosphere for dinner. Highly recommend for dinner if you re visiting St Thomas. Shoutout goes to Dana for a great experience!
10/10! Our favorite restaurant in St. Thomas. Authentic NOLA cuisine and vibes inside. Everything was amazing from the service to the food. We started with the coconut shrimp that were delicious and came with 5 pieces. The surf and turf was cooked perfectly, the short rib was amazing as well as the snapper and French onion soup. The portions were on the larger side! Loved the banana foster for dessert. Highly recommend this spot!
A total ten. It is a must go. No place is better. Gumbo, Onion Soup, Sesame Crunch Tuna, Short Ribs, Double Cut Pork Chop, ALL TO DIE FOR.
Worth to visit, good food
Always amazing!
Incredible service and Incredible food..crab cakes, surf & turf and salmon were out of this world! For dessert..the beignets were amazing! The gentleman that served us smiled and made us laugh the entire time. 10 Stars!
An incredible french restaurant in the French Quartier of St Thomas. This place serve some steaks with bourbon sauce and a pork that are super nice. Also a nice offering of french wines to close the loop, super well serve by their waitress. Only comment is that its a bit noisy. This is a clear recommendation.
From the states and was hoping for a nice meal worth my money, unfortunately I did not receive that. Ordered Shrimp pasta which was 29 dollars plus tax and it was bland with no bread or side salad just 29 dollars worth of noodles and can Alfredo sauce.. would not recommend.
The food was excellent, the short ribs are unbelievable, the prices are very reasonable, and the wait staff very nice. Worth every penny, would go there again and again. Probably our best meal on st thomas.
Godfather of Lamb is my go-to sandwich here. You wont regret it.
Good food! The pecan pie is awesome!
Food was delicious! Highly recommend.
The food was excellent, especially the filet mignon and shrimp plate. Parking: Excellent Food : 5/5 |
So amazing. Everything is delicious. The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is friendly and professional. The owner is charismatic. A great place to gather with friends or have an get together.
Delicious food and large wine selection. Fairly priced. All the staff was polite and the service was great. Parking: There is a parking lot for the restaurant that is exclusive to guests.
We were very fortunate to get in without a reservation. Please note if you have a party of 3 or more, call ahead. Our server was very outgoing and knowledgeable of the menu. He was absolutely hilarious and very helpful to our experience. Each of the food we received was very good and we even managed to fit in desert! Our server provided us with a fried zucchini starter on the house which was amazing and I recommend it to anyone visiting! I ordered the Local Mahi entree which was very good. My only reason for not providing stars in atmosphere is the place is quite noisy. We probably attributed to that a bit but it didnt ruin our experience. Definitely check out the place during your visit.
Very good food ate here 2 times 2 different meals and both were excellent
Closed.
Food is excellent
Liked the food, liked the servers, overall a really solid spot.
Very very rude waitress
Old school USVI restaurant and cajun-inspired quisine. This has always been a favorite of mine in the quirky St. Thomas French Quarter. Very popular with locals for dinner and very friendly and accommodating staff.
Food was fabulous, steak was done to perfection and Lisa our server was EXCELLENT! Very reasonable pricing.
Awesome and authentic creole food! The shrimp and grits and shrimp & crayfish etouffe we delicious! Highly recommended for a low-key, non-pretentious, and filling meal!
Great service!
Great menu choices, fantastic presentation and flavors, exceptional service and very true to their theme. Excellent meal each time we visit!
We love this place definitely our go to bistro!
Food was good, service was decent. The place looks a little run down, bars on the window and a dark casino room in the back. Shrimp and grits and gumbo were yummy.
One of my favorite places! Love the Gumbo and Banana Bread pudding Food
Salad and main courses were great (short ribs, and salmon) Brenda was a great waitress. We got seated in the bar area which wasnt ideal. Noisy from the bar
Excellent food and the service was outstanding. One of the best experiences on the island. Perfect place to stop on the way to and from the airport but also for a lunch/dinner out during your stay. Jambalaya was perfect as far as flavor and portion. Beignets were better than any I ve had. Crabcakes were pure delight. Don t hesitate to eat here.
My favorite place to eat on STT. The food is absolutely delicious and freshly made. Great, friendly staff. The place is always clean and the ambiance/vibe is always great! Youve got to try the chicken and waffles at brunch with a mimosa. The savory crepes, braised ribs, bread pudding, and pork chop are to die for, man!! Seriously, I had them pack me food to take on my flight, its that good! The prices are pretty great as well. Cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!!
This place is phenomenal!! Did not expect this kind of quality and service!! I would recommend this place to anyone that loves French cuisine. Lisa was our server and she made us feel at home. Thank you for a wonderful evening, will definitely bring our crew for dinner!!!
Great place to eat
Miles was a phenomenal waiter, provided great recommendations on the menu, and was very kind. The food was also phenomenal and the beignets were to die for! You have to check this place out!
We have had brunch here on return from our sailing trips 5 times over the past 3 years. Service is always outstanding. Food is good too.
We loved everything about our Sunday brunch at French Quarter Bistro before flying home. Carlos was an excellent waiter, the hostess was lovely, and our food was incredible. We had quiche, crepes, and beignets. Of all of the places we ate on St. Thomas, we both agreed that this was the most reasonably priced.
The atmosphere is pretty humble considering the excellent food and outstanding service we received. Our waiter, Miles, was probably the best waiter I have ever experienced. Friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and attentive without being bothersome. Will definitely go back!
