Casual dining in downtown Charlotte Amalie
What an amazing recommendation from the locals, I was looking for a place to eat and do some work, AMAZING service by Devon, never met someone from the islands as polite and respectful. The food OMG what a delight! I can safely say is one of my favorite places of not the favorite in the Caribbean. If you stop by, try the sliders believe me it’s Tri bond taste of heaven, I also had the shrimp tacos, let me tell you I hate coleslaw, but some how I loved it!!! And I actually got the hamburgués as well, YES YHATS HOW GOOD EVERYTHING WAS! For drinks I had 3 painkillers (yes I know is not what the doctor recommended but painkillers sounded good). One of the best experiences I have had in the Caribbean. To get here from the cruise port if you’re adventurous you can walk but it can get REALLY HOT as there is no shade, so comfortable shoes, sun protection and water is a must otherwise get a cab. But believe me, the food onboard ships is great but let’s be honest, after a while you NEEEEED something like this. I hope this short review helped you all! P.S. I had the burger with mash potatoes because I really don’t like fries and OMG was my top 3 favorite smash I had in years!
My husband and I ate here for the first time and we loved it! He had a grouper fish sandwich and I had the shrimp tacos! Both entrees were amazingly good! And their drinks are just as good! I highly recommend having the strawberry cheesecake drink and/or the mango daiquiri! They won't disappoint! And the night we were there, they had live music. The guitarist performing was great! All in all, it was a hit!
Highly impressed! We are always looking for good spots on island with good food and Stone House Cafe didn’t not disappoint. My boyfriend go the Thai Chicken Kabobs and the bacon pineapple fried rice lived up to the hype! I have the stuffed chicken and the sauce was amazing. The guy playing live music made the ambiance and experience even better. Excited to come back for lunch!
Stopped here for a late lunch and it was so good. We sat at the bar and their happy hour drinks are yummy. The food was even better. My fettuccine and meatballs were so good and my boyfriend’s crispy chicken was even better. Thank you!
Very cool place with a great waitress and appreciative proprietor. We felt very welcomed and at home. My wife and I wish we had found this place sooner. This is a great place for a romantic dinner. My wife and I came here as newlyweds. The staff was very upbeat and seemed to be happy to be there. The live music was great and the drinks were both strong and delicious. The pineapple and bacon fried rice is exceptionally good. The owner was kind enough to take a pic of my wife and I and thanked us for our patronage.
I just had dessert but it was a good experience! Later, I went back for fish tacos! Great service! Loved the atmosphere!
We had a party of 16 which is always a challenge, our waitress a shorter lady and her helper made sure to keep the drinks coming. The food was really good, there was a long delay on one of the lobster fritters we had ordered but when they arrived they were excellent. Our table had many dishes I had the coconut crusted shrimp entree which was excellent. My kids had fettuccine and meatballs and chicken tenders they liked them. Overall the experience was good. Understand there is no parking on this street so you are forced to park on one of the side streets which can be a challenge. I gave the restaurant 4 stars because of the dirty bathroom. If you have red my reviews in the past bathrooms are a very important aspect of the overall experience.
Great service, delicious food and we got to meet Mike the owner😊Plus the live music was nice. Will visit again next time in St Thomas. Must try the Thai Chili Bites— scrumptious
Excellent food and service!!
Excellent service and food!! Would definitely come here again! Large menu too. Recommend Coconut crusted shrimp! The rice was delicious also.
We had a wonderful lunch at the bar with Cheyenne! She is truly wonderful and knows about the island! This was a new place for us and we were greatly surprised. Thank you Cheyenne!
I enjoyed the service, the cocktails and the guitarist. However, the food was so-so. I got the coconut crusted mahi with lemongrass, and the fish was very dry and over-cooked yet surprisingly still tasty. Couldnt taste any lemongrass. Waited forever for the single bathroom, and a member of kitchen staff eventually emerged. The bathroom stunk of vaped marijuana afterwards. Wonder if thats why no one is paying enough attention to the cooking?
Best Italian meal I had outside of Italy! This is a must experience!
Very good food at reasonable prices for the Virgin Islands Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu as well Food : 5/5 |
Awesome food, dribks and service! Do yourself a favor and order the meatballs and chicken parm truly amazing!
Very nice atmosphere with good food and service wasnt bad. Will repeat .prices are so so but it is on a tourist vacation island so to be expected! Will return again!
The service was awesome, very friendly. We had a super chill brunch here with mango daiquiris. The turkey sliders and the tofu taco bites were all delicious. We appreciated the vegan offerings. Its a great place to get something to eat and drink when youre exploring the town.
BEST FOOD! came back 3 times within two days of being in St.Thomas! Lobster fritters are to die for!
Really nothing stellar about this place. We got meatball sliders... they were decent. The waitress was an absolute nightmare. I hope she was just having an off day, but truly I have never had such scattered, confusing, and erratic conversations with a waiter before. We wont return here.
I had a tasty fish sandwich and the most delicious mash potatoes Ive ever eaten. We had a fabulous server named Destiny. She was personable, knowledgeable and efficient. All in all it was a great experience.
We dined here on Fun Friday last evening. We didn t know what to expect but were we surprised! The food was more than delicious. The service was wonderful and the staff/owner were very pleasant to talk to. Some of the best cuisine we ve had here in St. Thomas. Highly recommend!!
Lauren was awesome and the pain killer she made was delicious
We had a good time . Enjoyed the steel pan playing
Live music and great food! I will definitely be back. The fried snapper was amazing!
I had lunch and my food was very fresh and delicious Vegetarian options: I wanted something light so I got the roasted vegetable salad with salmon. It was so good Food : 5/5 |
Let me start by saying we had dinner 3 nights in a row here! The food was fantastic. The stuffed chicken is to die for! Service was top notch and presentation was wonderful. All their food is fresh and made to order! The desserts change daily and are made in house as well! I cant say enough about this place!
Ordered my food, left a number, went to pick up the order and then was told that it didnt have enough of what I ordered . I left with only half of my order. So why take my number if you wasnt going
Really really good food! Highly recommend. Cute spot too.
Great place to drop in for lunch, we did while on the island for the day. The A/C works great, it was very hot, and the food selection was really good with a few in our group that have gluten and dairy issuues.
I really enjoy my afternoon here. The food was excellent, and the service was great.
What an amazing place to eat while in St. Thomas!! The service was amazing!! The owner was there, he was so friendly and accommodating and checked in with us every step of the meal. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy. As if this isnt enough..... the food and drinks were outstanding. We had the conch ceviche, coconut shrimp with bacon and pineapple fried rice and my husband had the fish tacos. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and HIGHLY recommend the Stone House Cafe. We will definitely be back!
So good, the best place in downtown.
Nice guys with ample knowledge of the brews and the area.
This is one of the highlights of our week here. We had the Coconut Mahi Mahi and the Oxtail, as well as a few adult beverages, and everything was delicious! Its inside of the old rum warehouse district, so the ambience is really cool with the old stone walls. You have to be aware that the kitchen closes half an hour before the restaurant, so no last minute diners are served.
Had lunch with my wife today I had the blacken snapper sandwich which was really good. My wife had the chicken bites service was great.the owners really do a great job here. I would highly recommend them.
Great food and service. Expect island prices, but was a nice spot to cool down towards the end of the day before heading back to the ship. Great staff.
Awesome service, tasty food, overall great experience!
The atmosphere and food were good, but our server seemed put off from the moment we entered the Cafe. The restaurant wasnt busy at the time. The server acted as if we were an inconvenience.
Fish tacos were absolutely awesome. Service was warm and friendly. Prices are island high, but the food is so good it doesnt matter.
I would it s a gem in the dessert The food was beyond my expectations and service was superb! Would recommend anyone to eat here while visiting downtown of St Thomas. Food : 5/5
Great happy hour!
Weve eaten all over the island and the oxtails were by far the best thing Ive had anywhere here. Absolutely recommended! Must try.
Good fish tacos. $3 Miller Lites. Good service. Nice place.
We visited twice and my wife loved the cauliflower tacos. Ambience is good. Food is good service, OK. Vegetarian options: Cauliflower tacos are really good
Great choice
Brilliant. Top service. Excellent happy hour deals. The food was absolutely excellent. All the plates came to the table at the same time. No wonder this restaurant is so well rated. Rightly so.
Love this place!!!!
Great chicken and fried rice
Our sweet tooth got the better of us...and our itch was scratched!! The dark chocolate tart absolutely fixed us up. Our server was very accommodating and helped us navigate the menu while never making us feel rushed. The vibe was awesome, environment clean and food came out timely :) Ps: the Rum Punch was excellent
My bartender was great and stayed busy, the food was also good. I usually dont like live music, but I very much enjoyed Joe Sciarrone. Food
This is called tauphouse now. I could hang out here for hours. Lots of great beers and a Mello atmosphere Service
Definitely recommend the lobster fritters, conch cerviche and fried calamari. All were excellent!
American fare, great food and drink with reasonable prices for your after shopping meal. The location has been completely renovated and very comfortable. UPDATE. - January 2022. This place is still awesome. Great food, drinks, desserts. Menu is more diversified, and still on point. Deserts are homemade by Sarah. Update on the update Sarah sold the restaurant and the desserts are not as good, however, the food is still well prepared and staff is very friendly.
Waited more than an hour for our food to be prepared . Could not get drinks refilled. Food was good but service was terrible.
TripAdvisor reviews were awesome so off we went. Last night on St Thomas. We arrived around 7:30pm after the big parties left. I believe there were a total of only five tables when we were there. According to the receipt, Taylor was the assigned waitress but really the bartender was our waiter. She gave our table very, very little attention then to charge an automatic 20% service fee (read forced gratuity) because you know, everyone needs to make a living was the response. Agreed but do your job. It s customer service. Lazy. I asked for water for all of us ~ nope, had to ask bartender when he delivered the drinks of which she took the order. Each person in our party ordered an entree to eat with our hands. Offer of extra napkins would been groovy and intuitive ~ nope. Had to ask bartender when he took and dropped off the second round of drinks and also asked him to refill our water glasses. How about a dessert menu? Nope again. Whether you do a good job at customer service (or not), wait staff still gets 20%. I hope Taylor shares the tip with our REAL waiter, the bartender. $213 gets you good food for four (crispy chicken sandwich, fish tacos, meatball sub, shrimp scampi), six drinks (we ordered frozen margs in first round, however we received on the rocks) and two apps (chicken wings were terrific, crab stuffed mushrooms were just okay). Service tanked the overall review! PS, the musician is talented. Enjoyed his voice!
Awesome place! The food is amazing! Waitress was nice. recommended!!!
This place was a definite favorite of our trip so far. Many other restaurants on the island have been very sub par but stone house exceeded my expectations! Food was soo good, I got the Asian chicken and my husband got the fried chicken, both were excellent. Service was good and prices weren t too crazy compared to other st Thomas restaurants.
The pineapple and bacon fried rice and steak tacos were beyond delicious!!! Painkiller for free....also yummy. Highly recommend!
This is a wonderful place, and even better if you are looking for a reasonably priced lunch or dinner. I had the cauliflower tacos, and they were absolutely amazing. My husband had the fish tacos and he loved his meal.
We came with high expectations, always difficult for a restaurant with high ratings. We ordered the lobster bisque which was excellent. Then the lobster and rib eye steak special- expensive at $150, but this was our anniversary! The steak was good- the lobster was mushy. We told Jimmy our server right away, and Presto- in minutes we had a new lobster which was perfectly done. Its not always a guage that they get perfection the first time, but how they respond! Well do!!
Slow service but food was okay
Great food, drinks, and atmosphere. We caught the Penn state game here. Like everything in the neighborhood, it closes around 7 on weekdays so plan accordingly. We got the lobster fritters, the grouper sandwich, and the roasted salad. Everything was delicious. They also had my favorite painkiller on the island.
We went there for lunch and the food and service was amazing.
Nice place to relax and unwind.
Didnt get food, but the beers were pretty good. Neat little place.
Beautiful restaurant and food was delicious. Started with the Lobster Fritters and Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, if you are not a fan or red and green peppers I would skip these as there were quite a few in each dish. Had the Mahi Sandwich with mashed potatoes & gravy and the Roasted Veggie Salad with added Mahi. After seeing the photos online of dessert we had to get one, the Blueberry Cheese cake was just enough and not too much. We will try to go back for the Coconut Crusted Mahi, it s hard to choose with so many great looking things on the menu. The service was great as well!
Good food, fantastic service. Jameson, our server was excellent! He happily made us drinks not listed on the menu, provided good suggestions for menu items and then made suggestions for places for us to visit when we went to St John the next day. We definitely recommend this restaurant.
Very good dinner, superb taste, excellent presentation. Wonderful atmosphere. Make reservations for their busy times.
Cozy place. They have local 3 Queens gin. Super delicious tarcos
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Food
BAd service
The best place we ate while visiting!! 100000/10 recommend. Bang bang shrimp and Asian chicken apps did not disappoint!! And the coconut crusted Mahi, and bang bang snapper sandwich were absolutely delicious.
Just excellent in every way
Our favorite restaurant during our stay on St Thomas. The owner makes her own desserts and the food quality was outstanding. They close early (7pm) so get there by 6pm. We ll worth the visit.
We just had ice cream. It was really good. Great service.
Short staffed but the owner made sure everyone was taken care of. Good food, a little pricey like everything else on St Thomas. Would recommend
Cool Atmosphere! Really enjoyed our food. We got the Fish Tacos, Coconut Mahi Mahi, and the Pecan Tart Desert.
Great casual dining with friendly staff and good service. Menu was great with a wide selection of good meals. Live music was fun and not too loud so conversation was easy. Food : 5/5
Stopped in again while walking by as I had an Old Fashioned there a year ago that was excellent. Enjoyed them again this time - a classic cocktail done well. Also has the spiced run glazed grilled shrimp, bacon pineapple fried rice and sweet plantains meal. Good traditional old looking place, tucked in on a side street. Very much enjoyed it - that rice was particularly outstanding. I recall that last year I had the sausage ravioli app and it was also very good. Worth the trip if you are staying in STT. Kcome to think of it, i kinda wished I had stayed for one more OF actually - but there is always tomorrow.
10/10 excellent food, ambience and service.
5 stars across the board!
Stopped in for a light lunch and drinks. The fish tacos and chicken parm sandwich were delicious. You can tell that everything was made from scratch and fresh. Only reason for a 4 star is our server never shared the specials and did not give our table much attention. Besides that I would highly recommend Stone House Cafe.
Amazing restaurant, starters, main dish and the DESSERTS! Really good and welcoming service, I ll be back next time I m in town!
Honestly it was a genuinely great experience all around! From the delicious starters to the unbelievably scrumptious roasted veggie salad and the exquisitely made coconut mahi-mahi with candied pineapple fried rice. I was truly blown away with the great service from everyone including the owner, who take such pride in her desserts and understandably so. Those too were made with love. Thank you Stone house staff for such a wonderful experience! We will be back!
Built in the 1600 it has a cool vibe. Food was good, beer was cold and prices reasonably.
The lamb burger was amazing, and definitely enjoyed the calamari.
Really enjoyed the food and the staff was super kind. The Mahi Sandwich was amazing and Guido introduce us to a new Scotch. Awesome, highly recommended!
Yummy everything is yummy
Great food and service.
Good food! Came out fast for our big group. We had a variety of food including the beyond meat burger, pastas, and fish tacos. A little on the expensive side, but probably normal for the area. Nice clean environment inside.
Food was delicious!!
Conch ceviche A+++
What a great place. Food, service and service was absolutely fantastic. You wont be disappointed.
The mashed potatoes and gravy might be the best potatoes Ive ever had! Everything was great. 5 stars definitely
This is my 3rd time to hungry house. Enter hungry, leave hungry. I had so far only tried the whole snapper. All their meals are superbly prepared and look great. But today I ordered the Thai salmon. It is regretably sooo small a dish it is funny. Even the house salad I ordered was mini. Too bad if you are doing keto. The broccoli or the asparagus sides are a joke. Tiny. About 3 florets of broccoli or 3 actual asparagi. Service was great however.
Great food.
Amazing food!
Great happy hour. Food looks good but wasnt hungry at the time.
Good food, great atmosphere and good service.
This place had amazing food, delicious drinks, and a great atmosphere. We originally came here after searching for a restaurant with air conditioning. We ended up going back here a second time because it was so good. The food was amazing. We never got anything I didnt like. Highly recommend the calamari and the crispy bang bang snapper sandwhich. The drinks were delicious too (I dont drink much so when I do I want my drink to taste good). On this end, I highly recommend the electric blue drink, delicious and strong. The people were amazing, too. We had a good talk with our waitress too, whose family owns the restaurant. Great place! Parking: This place is located down almost like an alley way. It is very narrow, and most people walk around this area. The restaurant had no parking lot as most of the buildings downtown do not. We took taxis and walked. Driving and trying to find parking here seemed like it would have been very difficult. Kid-friendliness: We didnt have our kid with us on this trip. But I saw many kids coming in here with their familys and they did have a kids menu as well.
Had a decent meal here. Food was good but the service was terribly slow. I realize they were short staffed but we weren t even acknowledged for over 15 minutes. We got the fettuccine alfredo and bacon & pineapple fried rice. Both were good.
Wonderful place to have lunch or dinner. Its fully air-conditioned !!
Had an outstanding time meeting the owners, Mike, and his daughter, Destiny yesterday. They were very friendly, the food was great, and the atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stop for lunch and relax. We will be back again.
Lots of vegetarian but no vegan options
The food and the service here were very good. I had the shrimp scampi and my husband had the stuffed chicken. Both dishes were simply delicious. Our only mistake was being very thirsty after walking around in St. Thomas heat for hours and ordering lemonade, which was delicious but came in a small glass that consisted mostly of ice -- and turned out to cost $7. I should have asked more questions -- and by the way there were no free refills. On the other hand, they do offer a military discount so that took away some of the sting of the overpriced lemonade. Our waitress was very nice and the place has great ambiance. I would go back and eat here -- I would just not order the lemonade. I could have had rum punch for cheaper!
Cute little place tucked away on a nice street! Enjoyed the spicy calamari. The cheesesteak and burger were a good size and came with fries. Really liked the fettuccine Alfredo that came with garlic bread! Beautiful Caribbean musician playing the drums on Friday nights!
Great veg/vegan options, nice vibe, and very attentive and friendly staff. The bang bang cauliflower was fantastic and the roasted veg salad was delicious. Also, the bartender made a yummy painkiller.
Had the snapper the first time and the mahi the second time. Great flavors and presentation. Nice local spot.
The Crispy Asian chicken bites were amazing as well as the homemade dessert. Will definitely be back!
Good food and environment
The waitress was very helpful and friendly and attentive. Beautiful, and tasteful decor. The stuffed chicken was cooked perfectly. The owner also checked on me a few times.
Interesting restaurant located downtown, with stone walls
Only been on the island a month. What a great place. Old original brick work. The food and staff were amazing .
Stone House is a pretty cool spot with great happy hour specials for drinks.
We stopped in while downtown. It was 95°. My husband got a $5 painkiller and I got a frozen marq. Delicious. He had the mahi mahi tacos and I got the cauliflower tacos. I can not praise them enough. Ive never been able to find cauliflower crispy enough that it stays crispy. They were light on the inside. He said the fish was amazing. Highly highly recommend, you wont be disappointed.. Vegetarian options: Honestly, get the cauliflower tacos.
Stone Houes Cafe is a Hidden Gem in St. Thomas. Our family went there not expecting what they offer. To start out they have all day happy hour on drinks. Not everyone on island does such a thing. Their menu is very well organized and the food choices are excellent. The kids menu is even excellent. My kids enjoyed having what was offered. On the menu is some food you do not see here on island which made it more enjoyable. Then the dessert is made fresh daily and not always the same. One ofbthe best parts is they have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. So go out and have this amazing restaurant. Oh and one of the best parts is the owners live here on island and are always invested in what they dream. You will not be upset or disappointed. Stone House Cafe is on of the best here on St. Thomas.
All the food is delicious, had the spicy rum shrimp on bacon pineapple fried rice. Chicken wings, very good! Service is very friendly and helpful. Would tell everyone. My husband and I went to St. Thomas for our 40th Anniversary.
The place is nice, clean, inviting, situated in a nice location, not far from the center of Charlotte Amalie. Food wise, there are plenty of vegan options (hard to find in the islands) as well as a large variety in the menu of meat based food. Prices are fair and correct. The order didnt lasted long to be served. The staff is engaging, not intrusive, attentive. Also a lot of beverages to choose from. They even have a daily specials and happy hour. Definitely a place to go!
This was a great lunch spot (WITH AIR-CONDITIONING)! Good food and drinks (get the nilla killa cocktail, SOO good!) Quick service. We went twice during our 4 day stay on the island.
Awesome!
A ridiculous size of salmon, half a salmon fillet, was served for $30 main course . A tourist scam
I was a bit disappointed by my lunch. I had the fish tacos. It was very light and looked good. But the flavors just didn t come together for me. I will have to go back and try some of their other dishes. The restaurant had a nice look. There is a beautiful well stocked bar for hanging out. The waitress was super sweet and helpful. It s conveniently located and easy to get to.
12/6/23 I stopped here for a quick cup of coffee . It is excellent . The two ladys working here love that they do . I can tell their hearts js in it and it s beginning to look a lot like Christmas (song playing ) . You first pass the specialty coffee and the ice cream and a little more you will hit Calypso Cafe . Bathrooms available. Clean and spacious bathroom . This place is located inside a jewelry place and it s towards the end of the building . A. Lot of steps everywhere be aware if you have a knew or leg injury but it s doable for me .
This place was great. St Thomas doesnt always have the best food.
Amazing food in a beautiful atmosphere. Find this place.
The Cauliflower Tacos were amazing! Great atmosphere and friendly service! Vegetarian options: Try their Cauliflower Tacos, amazing! Food : 5/5 |
Scrumptious fish sandwiches, yummy crab stuffed mushrooms, super friendly, family service, and THE BEST DESSERTS on the island!! Great guitar player, too.
We enjoyed our experience and all 3 of us loved the food. What leaves a bad taste in my mouth is the automatically applied 20% gratuity without a hint or word about it. Let alone a choice in the matter. Since when did gratuity become mandatory and not earned? Being local, Ive gotten used to watching out for the auto-gratuity applied by some servers/restaurants. Glad I took a look at the receipt before leaving an additional tip.
The food was fantastic! I highly recommend the chessesteak and mahi Mahi sandwich. And the fried chicken appetizer was delicious!
We stopped here for lunch while in port on a cruise and it did not disappoint! We were seated right away, drank two painkillers each to take the edge off ($6 each!) and the rest is history. We started off with seasoned fries and the triple slider appetizer which was great. The slaw on the fried chicken slider SLAPPED. My partner had the coconut shrimp dinner and I had the coconut mahi; both were excellent, and the bacon pineapple fried rice was DELICIOUS. 10/10 recommend and we hope to return on future visits to St. Thomas.
What a delightful experience. The food was beyond excellent and the owners Sarah and Eddy were warm, welcoming, attentive and so friendly. I had the vegatable salad and my husband had the pork chops - all was delicious! You will enjoy the beautiful restaurant and the delicous food. We HIGHLY recommend this as one of the TOP GO TO restaurants on the island. Oh.....and the homemade desserts by Sarah are so delicious and beautiful - you will not be able to find any better desserts on the island or ....anywhere!!
They never disappoint!
The food is quite good here, but the server made our day. She was very helpful and friendly, the place is well kept and the drinks were perfect. Prices are very reasonable, and the relaxed atmosphere allowed for conversation without straining your voice, which is nice. Make sure to ask about the specials!
Great service!
Back again. Excellent again. Highly recommend.
The sliders were fantastic! Just terrific! We loved the Rum Punch was great. Service is very good! Air Conditioned, so it make for a great stop to eat and refresh!
Good food and service. Had live music on a Friday night.
Great food. The ambiance was amazing. Everything i ordered was top notch. Highly recommend.
Good quality of the food and nice service!
Great place!
Awesome food, awesome service!!
Nice people and nice service. Good food
Chicken tacos were good but lettuce was not cold fresh and crunchy I would give those 3.5 stars. The dessert was on point and prolly what this place is known for 4.5 stars for dessert I would give it a total of 3.7 to 3.9 rating
What a Gem !!!! Stone House Cafe is a fine dining experience with a Great atmosphere. The food is wonderful. Everything was soooo good!! From the perfect margaritas served in slanted glasses to the fantastic cauliflower appetizer whish is out if this world, and the entrées that are more then you can eat!! Not only is the food so tasty you want to close your eyes and just feel all the flavors, the open kitchen gives you a view of the chefs as they harmoniously work togather as if they are dancing. We were lucky enough to meet the owners and they are a lovely couple that know how great food and atmosphere can make the perfect dining experience. They are now my #1 restaurant here in St. Thomas. Thank you
I had the roasted veggie salad. Tasty seasoning. I added some grilled tofu and the meal was filling. Great casual atmosphere. Google Maps didn t get the location correct. Use the street address.
WOW! Was not expecting this place to be so dam good! A corner guy listened to us about finding a place that office vegan options and this place has about 10 of them! Especially after roaming around and realizing that the other places have actually shut down. This is a little hidden gem!
Food is very good, quiet and in a nice spot down one of the main allys. This was a biz that opened just before COVID and doing its best to survive the difficulties that brings. The food & service is great - but they close early so get there before 6:30pm to get served.
We didn t have much time. But the appetizers were amazing. And Happy Hour all day. Awesome
Great food, great presentation, great service. You must come to try something here! Chef is awesome
Went tonight(friday night) and the place has a nice small intimate feel to it..service was great and food was delicious..the fish tacos were delicious and one of the other meals came with a pineapple rice which was amazing.. I read here that a prior reviewer mentioned different quoted prices for margaritas but our server specifically mentioned there was a simple $5 version and a more expensive, complex /special ingredient variation that is $10 so maybe that was the issue that has been resolved... The food was great and desert was delicious and they served very large cake slices... Im sure 2 can share a slice if you wanted but the chocolate cake was so good and light that I ate a slice myself.. A Steel drummer played live music and he was great. That is probably just a firday/weekend night event but he was very good and we had a fun time just listening to him play... We would not hesitate to go back.
We came in for lunch and were BLOWN AWAY by the amazing food! This was better than our dinner at Oceania, or Prime! This was better food quality and service than ANY OF the many restaurants we have had the pleasure of eating at! This was our 6th trip to St Thomas and our 1st visit here and we will be back again and shout from the mountain tops of the great food and drinks! The ge coconut encrusted Mahi with rice was the best Mahi I have had in my lifetime! .... and I have had a lot of Mahi in my lifetime! The fish tacos were so light and crispy and they were beyond delicious! The kids macaroni and cheese, my daughter who is a Mac and cheese conasure said Oh my... this is the cheeses most amazing Mac and cheese I have ever put in my mouth! It is the bomb mom! And the chicken sandwich blows away anything in the states including Chick-fil-A! Oh and to top it off the drinks! AAAMMMMAAAZZZZZIIIINNNNGGGG! Margaritas, Rum Runner they are the best! I could eat here every day! I am so blessed that we had an amazing foodie experience!
Food was amazing!! Atmosphere was excellent
Great food, smart taste, really tasty. Drinks great - great staff! Absolute recommendation!
The worst food I had on the island. It tastes like the owner refuses to buy spices (or even salt) for the chefs to use.
We arrived shortly before closing and it was quiet inside with just a few people at the bar. Our food came out fast and was *excellent*. Prices were very fair. Highly recommended!
Great food! Excellent service! Reasonable prices.
Mai Tai were really good, even though they want to use a different sauce for a different kind of toasted raviolis, they were really good when using marinara. Sliders were a really good snack too! All great for soaking up great drinks!
Food was good and decently priced. The happy hour deals were more reasonable. But by far the best part was the dessert. We got carrot cake and it was massive and delicious
Beautiful location and original brick/building. Makes you feel part of history. Friendly and attentive staff backed up with really well prepared dinners. Well seasoned and our meals were cooked perfectly. The whole area does close down relativity early so plan ahead. Owner(s) are very friendly and appear to be wonderful people.
Overall good. Great service. Good drinks that are decently priced if you order from the daily specials. Food was above average. Desserts were very good, but overpriced.
Great food and cheap beer! Ultra was only $2. I had the lunch special; two chicken tacos and a margarita for $12, and my wife had fish tacos (3) for $18. They were delicious! We highly recommend Stone House Cafe.
Amazing dinner on our first night. Apparently the brick walls are from the 1600 s. The food and desert was delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly.
The appetizers were nice but the pork chop entre was tough and tasteless
Found this gem while aimlessly walking - VERY FORTUNATE! Great Atmosphere, Excellent food and service. Come in, relax and have a nice meal! You will enjoy it and be back.
One of the best places we ate at in the island.
I had the coconut Mahi it was incredible! Maybe the best thing Ive ever ate. Comes with bacon pineapple coconut rice thats amazing and the vinegar coleslaw on top was delicious gelreat service the New York strip was excellent and the drinks were good too cant wait to go back
Had a great lunch with great service and atmosphere. I highly recommend!
We had a variety of items from the menu. Everything was good. We tried the lobster fritters, bang bang shrimp and cauliflower, Asian chicken, Thai coconut chicken skewers, coconut-crusted mahi, and then finished with bread pudding, baklava, and a pecan tart. The highlight was the Asian Chicken with bacon and pineapple fried rice. The rice was unique and delicious. Our choices were a little pricey for the portion sizes, though. The service was quick and friendly.
Absolute deliciousness!
You must try the signature dish, coconut crusted mahi mahi with fried pineapple rice. Its amazing: fresh, flavorful and delicious. We started with the crispy chicken bites which was our servers favorite and rightly so as it was perfectly breaded, crispy and served a spicy Asian influenced sauce. Save room for dessert as they are all made by the owner Sarah who greeted us and shared her story of starting the restaurant, converting an old maritime warehouse into the hip, welcoming Stone House cafe. We will definitely be going back soon.
Excellent food and service!
Charming place in downtown St. Thomas. Good food and drinks. A must stop by and say hi to Eddie the owner! Air conditioned bar and cafe with a great menu.
Great place, food, drinks and wait staff. Fair prices for food and drinks. They also have AC in the historic building. 10 minute walk from our hotel that was next to Blackbeards castle. Everyone loved the food they ordered. Fish sandwiches, burgers and salads. Good reprieve from the heat. Pic is of the Nille Killa and an Old Fashioned. Both were good.
Food, service, drinks . Amazing!!!
Maybe the best restaurant on the island of St Thomas
When you are in St. Thomas Stone House Cafe is a must! The food came out quickly and is reasonably priced and delicious. The food taste like a homemade meal with fancy touches. The owner was there working and spoke to every guest. But, do you know what the best part of the meal was?? The dessert holy moly YOU need to stop here for the homemade dessert!! Absolutely, melt in your mouth sweet, but not to sweet ginormous cakes! Best meal I have had so far in St. Thomas. I would rate them 5 plus stars if I could!!
The owner is amazing! She recognized us out of all her patrons the 2nd time we went
Food was fantastic!
Wonderful service and food. We ordered the chicken sandwich and fish tacos and were beyond satisfied. Highly recommend!
Absolutely outstanding. Great staff, great food for a great price. Been here a week and ate out every night. By far the best restaurant that we ve dined at.
We had a great dining experience here, all the food was amazing and the people welcoming and friendly. An upscale restaurant with a casual island feel to it, enjoy the experience!
There are many yummy options here, even a full bar with a huge selection. I had the Fried Bang Bang Red Snapper Sandwich, which I got because of another review. I loved it, bf not too much, he had the Angus Burger. Service was really nice. Really close to a bunch of stuff shopping, etc
A great place - good food (mahi mahi sandwich), friendly service, pleasant ambiance - well conditioned which comes in handy on the island. Homemade cheesecake was really great!
This place is very nice for dining and a great tourist spot if youre visiting Charlotte Amalie. The food is good and beautiful quality.
This is a great place for a special dining experience. The food is not too expensive but be prepared to pay more. The menu options are decent. The sangria was delicious!
Do NOT sleep on this place! Amazing food, excellent service, delicious drinks, and air conditioning. It is a St. Thomas favorite and a MUST!
diamond in rough. owner Sarah is unbelievable pastry chef and all food was great. very clean and welcoming. local poice officer told us about the restaurant and glad we listened
A must try. Love their fish tacos, ravioli, cheesecake, grilled veggies, bang bang shrimp, and more.
Great service. Great daiquiris (we had mango & banana). Ask for a floater if you want a stronger drink. Great lobster fritters & chicken empenadas for a snack. Highly recommend for a quick & tasty stop if you are in port on a cruise & need a bite to get you through to dinner.
Excellent lunch and dinner location in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Highly recommend for a quick drink or leisure meal. Friendly owners
Recommended 100% Good and fresh cooked meals. The salads, the salmon, the pastas and the desserts were amazing.
My favorite restaurant by far on the island!! Fantastic food, drinks, and located in a beautiful rustic area. The desserts are to die for, especially the baklava and tiramisu. Well be back for sure! Parking: Tricky parking. Depends on the day but youll be lucky to find a space close.
Wonderful vibe and the most delicious food. Don t think twice make this your spot for a yummy feast!
Me and my partner visited the restaurant for lunch on September 14. It was around noon time, a caucasian waitress came to our table to ask for drinks. And we asked for water. She immediately responded only bottles water okay? It s fine with us to pay for bottles of water until I saw she s serving iced tap water at other tables. I later asked her you have tap water? I thought you said you only have bottles water? She responded me with no, We always have tap water and left the table. I was very dissatisfied with her service and the way she responded to us especially she handed us a bill with 20% gratuity included in the bill. This obviously does NOT deserve a 20% gratuity. I noticed we aren t the only customers experienced this service in the past. There s a couple reviews addressed this issue few months ago as well. The restaurant should face this issue seriously as this is a despicable service to try to jack up the bill but will lose your customers in turn.
OH MY GOD this place is incredible! The ambiance, the liquor selection, the knowledge and and passion of the bartender (Jack) for quality cocktails, and the unbelievable food makes this place a must! Truly a hidden gem on the island. It was hands down the best old fashioned I had on the island and then I challenged Jack to make me something off menu. I asked for a God Father and he absolutely crushed it. We also order both the fish and chicken tacos and they were outstanding! The owner of the restaurant who is Lebanese, makes a family recipe of Baklava and it is hands down the best Baklava that we have every tried. This place was incredible and I wish we were able to go back a second time while we were on the island!
We really liked Stone house. It had a neat interior, is a really clean restaurant and everyone was really friendly. Our food was delicious, I got a burger and the ingredients were all high quality. The drinks were excellent and came in fun glasses!
I Highly Recommend This Dining Experience. You Can Literally Taste The Love In Your Meal!!! I Met The Owner Sarah Shes Awesome!!!
Dinner was fabulous - fresh caught seafood, prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. Owner was attentive and delightful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
This is literally my first review ever because Stone House Café was so outstanding. Historical building and legendary food. Friendly staff, delicious food with incredible presentation that was brought to the table quickly. I had to thank the owner Sarah and chef Peter before I left for such an amazing, unexpected dining experience.
Stone house cafe is a very cozy, friendly staff, and the thing I like most was how fast you got served, and the food was good.
We just came here for coffee and dessert. The pecan tart is delicious and also large, I like the vibe and the ambiance of this restaurant. Nice stone walls.
Stopped by after dinner for dessert and coffee and the pecan tart was fantastic. The woman who actually baked and plated it, brought it to the table and served us, beaming with pride. The whole pecans were gently roasted, the crust was baked with too much real butter (just the way I like it) and a lot of love, topped with vanilla ice cream and actual cream that was whipped (whipped cream ) and chocolate drizzle. Extraordinary. Youre not going to want to do this too often, but great vacation food. Great atmosphere in stone-walled bar and restaurant. UPDATE: Came back the next night for pistachio cream cake, which was also incredibly moist and rich.
Our favorite restaurant on St. Thomas! Everything is awesome, the atmosphere, the staff, the price point, the drinks, & the food. Our go to items are the roasted veggie salad, the bacon wrapped chicken or the coconut encrusted mahi mahi. But no matter the dish you order, it s going to be amazing! The owners are always there, checking on your experience with a smile & a hug! The staff is always friendly and on top of their game. Don t forget to tip the kitchen staff, with the open kitchen you can see they are working hard! LAST BUT NOT LEAST Definitely save room for Sarah s delicious homemade desserts! We normally order 2 or 3 different ones but always the baklava.
Beautiful delicious food and great service.
