St. Thomas, 8 Honduras, Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas 00802, U.S. Virgin Islands
At Oceana Restaurant & Bistro, we exist to create experiences & memories that transcend mere dining by the sea. We combine culinary excellence with superb service in the most exquisite setting on St. Thomas. Overlooking the aqua colors of the Baye de Grigri, Oceana is regarded as one of the island’s most iconic locations for dining. Most tables in our open-air dining room offer unobstructed views of the sea, passing sailboats, landing seaplanes, spectacular breathtaking sunsets and equally dramatic full moons rising. We feature upscale "from scratch" dining, using only the freshest ingredients. Unsurprisingly seafood dominates our menu.
Excellent food and service. We enjoyed all the items we ordered. Service was excellent. Beautiful ambiance. Great views during daylight hours.
We celebrated my birthday here. We had been told this was the nicest place on the island for dinner, and it did not disappoint. The menu is beautifully crafted, a blend of local flavors and imported. Great cocktail and wine menu. Desserts were delicious. The view is incredible. Right on the water.
An elegant restaurant with a wonderful location. Gorgeous views and of course a terrific kitchen. Easy to find. Some parking available. They did take us as a walk-in, but it seems that having a reservation is preferred. The scallops were my favorite. Rich flavor, tasty sides. The lobster was good as well. Dessert was fine. Although I felt the ice cream ala mode serving was rather small. As for our waiter (she)... not everyone is cut out to be working at a high end restaurant or even happy with life. We would have enjoyed the waiter at the next table just fine.
This is the most upscale restaurant on the island and well worth a visit! We enjoyed the salmon and Scallops as they both paired perfectly with the 2022 Ellevin Chablis we selected! We then ordered the lemon cheesecake and the combination of wine and dessert was explosive! It was the equivalent to a lemon Creamsicle. A combination that I would highly recommend! We will definitely return when on the island!
This is an amazing restaurant on the water! We were celebrating our anniversary and all the food we had was delicious! Great the grand mariner creme brûlée for dessert! Danielle was an attentive and excellent server! We’ll be back! 😍
Wonderful service. Our server, Danielle, was so very and accommodating to our party of 6. Everyone's starters to continuations were amazing. So very glad we made this our final 🍽 dinner for our trip. We will definitely Definitely be back!
Phenomenal service and one great dish after another. Oceana was well spoken of with my group on our trip leading up to it, definitely deserved the hype. Cocktails were good and the wine was delicious, going well with the ceviche and the beet salad (best part of the meal!). The entree I had was the rib eye with the potatoes au gratin and it was fantastic, albeit the potatoes themselves were a bit on the salty side.
Why does food taste so good by the sea? What a fantastic meal in a beautiful place. Service was attentive but not omnipresent. The oyster appetizer was delicious and very fresh. Three choices of condiments included Seafood Sauce, Horseradish and Mignonette. The seafood bouillabaisse was plentiful and perfectly seasoned. All the seafood was excellent. Presentation was also very good. Equally excellent was the New Zealand Veal chop. Excellent sauce and a very generous portion. Creamy spinach was a great compliment to the dish. We finished and cleansed our palate with the three sorbet dessert. Great evening and experience.
This is the best restaurant in StThomas. I have eaten here since the days of The Chart House (on this site in the 90 s. It has always had the best view. Oceana has best food, presentation, wine list, cocktails and servers. If you eat out once on your visit - go here. Make a reservation ahead of time. You will not regret it.
Beet salad was out of this world. Cant say enough great things about the staff and overall dining experience. Service and food was unmatched compared to all of our other dining experiences during our stay on the island. Open air, waterfront dining. Quaint location. Ole home turned into a restaurant. 2nd floor was a local artist exhibition. Whatever your expectations are, be ready for them to be blown away.
Great view and atmosphere. Menu and specials gave many amazing options. Service was especially good. Our server, Danielle, gave great recommendations and was very attentive. Will definitely be back.
Just had an outstanding dinner! Beyond expectations. Reasonably priced, Fabulous atmosphere! Very Romantic ...10 stars
The food was not very good at all. The medium rare steak came out medium well and was inedible. The flavor of the 2 bites I took was bland.
Our server Pamela was darling! She was especially helpful with her recommendations, given my gluten-free dietary restrictions. Food was delicious, our table overlooking the ocean was very romantic.
Best food in the island! Danielle was an amazing host and everything was delicious and fresh! Do not miss this beautiful spot!
Very nice restaurant with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The customer service and the view from the restaurant is wonderful. They have a delicious variety of seafood that are bound to have you craving for more. I would definitely recommend going to this beautiful restaurant to try some Caribbean cuisine.
Beautiful dinner, beautiful view, beautiful time! Highly recommend!
Very nice place the service was fantastic and the food was phenomenal!!
Great recipes with originality and technique. The love shows up on the plate.
Amazing food, great quality ingredients, professional hospitality. So far best restaurant on the island Food : 5/5
Lovely setting right on the water. The staff are friendly and the food is amazing!
Amazing staff, beautiful location and unbelievably good food!
Fantastic! Thanks to (Jerwin?) for being a wonderful server.
One of the finest dining establishments in the Caribbean. Definitely a good choice for a special occasion. Try to get a reservation before sunset because the views are wonderful.
Oceana is a really good restaurant! If you have the opportunity to try it, go for it! The view is incredible, but the best part is still the food! The ceviche was super good, but the best was the filet mignon and the ribeye!!! The people were very nice, and the decoration is also nice. If I have time, I will go back for sure.
Yes, I know. 5 s again. But generally I only post when it s a great experience. Or the oppo when something is really off. Am happy to say that Oceana is a great time. I was there on business but more family and couples when we were there last Wednesday. Did not make a reservation on a Wednesday night in off season - which earned me a side-eye at the hostess station. To OceNa s credit we still got the best available table, AND it was jamming. So ressies, even off season. We had a great view of the Hassel Is. channel and could see the boats going by. After people watching it s the best passive entertainment. I ordered the beet salad and scallops w/veggies. Both were wonderful. Beets were fresh sliced and crisp and scallops crispy on the outside and melt-in-the-mouth inside. All this was managed by Clint. Think Clint is a throwback to an era of professional waiters. Informative but only shared his opinion when asked; attentive but didn t try to sit down and be our friend. So I will always ask to be seated at Clint s station with a water view. Value. Not gonna lie, was on the expense account. Couple cocktails, wine, salad, meal, sorbet, couple hundred bucks for 2. But very good value. Will review the food trucks next but when you go to OceNa ask for Clint s station and you ll be posting a great review also.
Should include dress code on website.
If youre looking for the ultimate experience of see food...look no more. This gem is located in the French Town area. The old charter house used to be there. The food here was phenomenal!
If you have a mobility disability this may not be the best choice despite the fact that the food is great. There are very poor access paths for mobility challenged patrons and wheelchair access would be near impossible. In fact our dining experience was significantly dampened by not only the lack of accommodation but the attitude of the staff that they werent required to provide a path per US ADA standards and were rather rude to us regarding the issue. Despite the challenges we did dine here and it was delicious but beyond handicapped parking disability access is a challenge.
Overpriced and underwhelming. Weve been here several times and the quality of food and service are just not on par with the prices and high-class vibe this restaurant tries to portray. The manager Eva is anything but friendly. Weve had the same server on our last two visits and while she isnt terrible, she is very bland and just does not provide the level of service you would expect from a place like this. $33 for a cauliflower steak with a spoonful of quinoa, served lukewarm, is ridiculous. Our final straw--putting this on the list of places we will not return to--was when our friends pork entree was served raw last night. This was not a situation where the meat was slightly undercooked and someone was just being picky; it was completely uncooked on the inside. Our waitress had the dish reheated when we asked, but there was no apology from her or the manager, and no offer to comp the dish or provide a free dessert or do anything else. This is unacceptable for any restaurant, and especially one of this caliber. The one bright star of this place is Clint-- if you are lucky enough to sit in his section, his excellent service will make your whole experience.
This is one of the best if not the best restaurant on the island as far as I m concerned. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and even in torrential downpours it still makes for an incredibly romantic experience. Baby friendly as well.
We had a great meal. Service was outstanding as well. Best meal we have had on St. Thomas.
I went here 13+ years ago and had the best meal (oceana bouillbaisse) of my LIFE!!! It was life changing and lve told countless people about this meal over the years when asked what is your favorite food/meal. So here I am, all these years later, on my honeymoon bragging to my wife about how awesome the food is. Im not going to lie, I was nervous... will the food live up to all my hype? It did, and in fact it was better than I remember. Atmosphere was perfect, everyone was super friendly, and Rosa (our server) made everything better. You have to check this place out... your taste buds will thank you!!
Amazing restaurant and view Food is amazing ordered the tuna!! Food
Beautiful place for a lovely dinner. One of my favorite places in St. Thomas.
The best on the island
Fantastic! Perfect location, food was superb, service was top notch.
This place was lovely. The food was excellent and the service was as excellent. I had the bouillabaisse and it was outstanding. The atmosphere was the nicest restaurant we experienced in St. Thomas. The staff were super nice.
It was a great experience over and its a must visit. The service was especially amazing. The servers are always making sure you have anything you need and are very kind. The food was also delicious and good quality. It also was extremely beautiful with an amazingly decorated restaurant and patio. I recommend this restaurant 100%!
This is a beautiful place with an amazing view and the food was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend you have dinner here. Best meal we had on the Island. Also, we had a wonderful server Rosa.
Staff are hard workers, nice, and organized. the result is amazing dinner night for a very big group! Thank you guys
We went here for our 25th anniversary and was nothing but perfection the meal was absolutely amazing and our waitress Danielle made it an unforgettable experience ! Thank you for the memories !!
They request some people take their hats off to be seated, but others that were already seated had hats on. This was clearly a selective policy to turn away certain people. The hostesses were extremely rude. I chose to leave.
Everything was delicious
Love everything about this place!
Great quinoa crusted salmon and tofu dish! Amazing atmosphere Vegetarian options: Tofu dish my wife loved Food : 5/5 |
Adam and the crew were world class servers and people matched by the food and atmosphere.
Probably the best of all the restaurants we ate at during a week in St. Thomas and St. John.
They are not friendly at all, the food is average, the view is beautiful, I wont repeat it. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING and from the start they receive the customer badly.
This was our fourth dinner we had on our week long trip and it blew all the other great dinners out of the water. The waiter Clint was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu, was able to guide my wife, with celiac disease, towards the best dishes, even though almost everything was already gluten free. The manager came to our table at the end of the night and we had a lovely conversation finish up the night and she even recommend other great restaurants to try before we leave. 10/5 STARS! When we come back to St Thomas, we will absolutely eat dinner here.
We stayed next door to this amazing restaurant and decided to try it out on the last night of our trip. The location is amazing, just steps from the water with a beautiful view of the boats going by at the end of the day. The vibe of the restaurant was simple, yet elegant, and very welcoming. The staff, from the moment you enter was warm and friendly, from the host to our waiter, Corbin. The service was excellent. If all of that wasn t enough, the food was amazing. My husband had the halibut, which he said was the best fish he has had in years. I had a salad with arugula and hummus followed by the crab cake. Both were excellent. It was a perfect night. Thank you! We will be sure to visit on our next trip to St. Thomas.
Great ambiance, great food!
This is probably my favorite restaurant in the world. The views are amazing, food and service are great, and I love the building and the history of it. Ive had 2 birthday dinners there and hope to have many more!
Best restaurant on the island! The Oysters and Tuna tartar were amazing! The Veal melted in your mouth. My girlfriend had the Seafood stew type dish which was overflowing with Seafood. Service was 10/10 with an amazing view!
We had the pleasure of celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary at Oceana and we were blown away! Clint our server went above and beyond to make our dinner one of the best we had and his suggestions were on point! We had a beautiful table with an amazing view and we will always remember how amazing our wedding anniversary dinner at Oceana was. Eva the manager was so attentive and friendly. We came to find out she once lived in our town! She had worked at one of favorite restaurants that closed many years ago and we had a great time remembering one of our favorite places to eat. We had hoped to eat at Oceana before we left but it ended up raining heavily and our plans were changed. We hope that we will be able to go back one day as this was a dinner we will never forget. Thank you Oceana for EVERYTHING!
Most beautiful restaurant on the island, great staff and the food was incredible! Thanks Rosa!!
We had an awesome dinner. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant
Sharing memories at my mothers 80th birthday !! Everything was amazing! Food
Great place to end the day
Burrata appetizer and scallops entree!! Fantastic
We had a very enjoyable dinner at Oceana while on a recent trip to St. Thomas, USVI. We arrived a bit early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail until our table was ready. Oceana is a very cool location, and beautiful house right on the bay, great views, especially during the day. The staff was very friendly, the service crisp, and the fare very good! At the bar we started with cocktails, the O and a sunset martini. The O is the house signature cocktail, a combination of house-infused pineapple rum, ginger, lime juice, coconut cream and pineapple juice. Delicious and refreshing! The sunset martini is a tasty blend of vodka, Chambord, citrus, candied lemon and a sugar rim. A nice way to start the evening! Once seated, after another cocktail, we opted for a nice bottle of white wine, Lenda Albarino. It was a good wine that paired well with our food selections. We ordered and shared two salad, the beet escabeche and the house special grilled peach salad. The beet salad included several varieties of beets, on a bed of goat cheese, adorned with spicy arugula, and rimmed with a raspberry balsamic reduction and EVOO. Very tasty. The grilled peach salad featured bibb lettuce, honey whipped goat cheese, candied pecans, a balsamic reduction, and EVOO. Very good salad, our favorite of the two. For our main course, we opted for the bouillabaisse, which was a prefect size for sharing. The soup included lobster tail, clams, mussels, shrimp, fresh fish, a very tasty broth and toasted bread on the side. It was a very good dish, and perfect for using the bread to soak up the sauce at the end. For dessert we shared two scoops of cookies and cream ice cream and the trio of sorbets. Both were good, we liked the ice cream a lot! Homemade, creamy and deelish! It was a good dinner, paced well, and worth the visit. The setting is delightful, and wed recommend just stopping by for a drink is youre not able to dine at Oceana.
This was by far my favorite dining experience in St. Thomas. The service was impeccable. (Thank you Elana). I highly recommend if you want experience exceptional food and ambiance.
Beautiful! This restaurant is a house built in 1800 that has been maintained beautifully. Food was amazing. Our group had Flat iron steak, Pork roast, Salmon which was all amazing! Service was awesome.
The best overall dining experience we had during a weeks stay on St Thomas.
Lovely restaurant, one of our top favorites on St. Thomas island. Delish, super friendly. Romantic. Looks out over the ocean. Highly recommend. My husband ordered the blue fin tuna, and he was completely satisfied.
The night manager ( older white lady ) , to be exact since she would not disclose her name attitude was the worse I ever experienced of any restaurant here on the island. Her lack of professionalism is not worth the experience , wherefore she clearly needs etiquette classes when it comes to engaging with customers concerns and or complaints. The food which we ordered was 6/10 , the chef should never allowed a Filet to come to the table with burnt potatoes, and the ceviche was not the freshest. Hope that she the manager (as she claimed she was) finds peace in herself and treats patrons with respect and appreciation
Absolutely fantastic meal. Great service and beautiful location.
You are paying for the ambiance. There are PLENTY of fantastic restaurants here on the island that doesnt cost an arm and a leg for mediocre food. Isla blue, prime(killer views!) Etc. this establishment has wild chickens running through their kitchen. Chickens are very dirty, so I do not trust this place with my food to be honest. The owner is French, and very very rude. Waste of money if you ask me, and a very dirty establishment.
You are paying for the view and fancy food. The service was amazing our waiter Clint did a wonderful job checking on us. The food was okay nothing the write home about.
Host and waitress were amazing Food and atmosphere were incredible Food
Where do I begin? If you re in Saint thomas and love to enjoy a nice meal with great ambiance this is the place! Came for a birthday and we were not disappointed. We particularly loved the Mahi Mahi, the salmon and the Musssels. Clint was so kind and gave us fabulous service. Definitely a go to on the island. Couldn t have asked for a better birthday dinner!!
A little off the regular path but worth the visit. We started with Garlic Shrimp and warm Focaccia bread. The shrimp were delicious and the bread was soft and tasty. I had the lobster, my wife the Filet and my daughter the Salmon. All were delicious and prepared to our taste. Great atmosphere also.
Holy cow one of the best restaurants I ve ever eaten at. Views amazing and staff also amazing!Must try
Our favorite restaurant anywhere. We always look forward to a great evening there. The ambiance is amazing, service is always perfect. Clint was personable and attentive. Great drinks - love the O! And the food is incredible. I love watching Pat look over each plate to make sure that it is perfect before it is served. Such attention to detail! Can t wait to go back next year.
Ive had the opportunity to eat at some great restaurants- this is on my top 3 of all time- thick chop and boullabaise perfectly cooked- fantastic patio feel
Our server Clint was exceptional! Food was delicious
The atmosphere at the restaurant was beautiful, its sits right on the water. The service provided was really good, very attentive waitress. They even provided bug spray at the hostess stand due to it being open outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend for a night out with family or special occasion.
Our server, Lainey, made Oceana a wonderful experience from start to finish. Everything we ordered was delicious and refreshing.
Cheers to PAMELA, the hostess for being amazing, accommodating, and making our big night out absolutely amazing. Thanks girl. You are the best.
Beautiful restaurant with a spectacular view, excellent service and food!
Everything was fantastic. Service was spot on, friendly and efficient. He provided descriptions and provided recommendations that brought the menu to life. The food was excellent and being ocean side was great. The restaurant also had an art gallery upstairs that was really unique.
If you are celebrating a special occasion, make your way to this restaurant. At least 5 people (including me) were celebrating their birthdays on the day of our visit. The restaurant is open-air, right on the water, so you get the opportunity to listen to the waves while dining on a great meal. Our dishes were delicious, esp. the crab cake. Highly recommended. Happy Traveling!
We have been traveling to St. Thomas for years and always have dinner at Oceana one night each year as our special night out. We have loved every thing we have had there and this year did not disappoint. The views are amazing and the building, art, and open air concept are perfect. The food was absolutely wonderful, my parents even said the best meal of their life, and every appetizer, drink, entree, and dessert was perfect!! (And we tried quite a lot on the menu this year)! Clint was our waiter and he was SO great, made the entire night special and we cannot say enough great things about him, my parents plan to request him when they visit the island again in the spring. I recommend Oceana to all my friends back home whenever they visit St. Thomas!
To be honest the only way to write this was to give a review. It was closed and we stood on the beach. Unable to review
Great atmosphere, service, and food! The tuna tartar and ceviche are amazing!
Amazing service with Adan. A true gentleman and the view is beautiful and peaceful. The food -wow! The best I have had on this island. Truly attention to detail!
Amazing food, really cool place. We had the chocolate torte and creme brulee and daily special. Everything was really good.
Sublime experience on the bay. Exquisite food and beverage preparation and presentation, superb staff. If you re on St. Thomas this a place not to be missed.
Impressive menu for a shoreside restaurant. Seated quickly and couldn t beat the view!
We cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant, think it s the best in all of St Thomas!!!!!
Food a bit expensive but well worth it
Lovely setting, great atmosphere and superb service. Food was better than expected. Well worth the trip here.
My steak was overcooked. I was wearing a sleeveless shirt that was stitched made me sit in the bar because the restaurant was too good for me to be in the main dining room an order of shrimp appetizer, they give you a whole three of them for their overpriced menu portions are way too small for the price
Birthday reservations for 8. Total disaster. Attitude and personality of hostess was abhorrent.
Great fine dining
During the Christmas holiday season in 2023, we went to this famous restaurant with friends. After navigating through the narrow winding roads full of speed bumps in the Frenchtown, we find the restaurant premises to be much nicer and organized. It s history dates back to 18th century. There is no shortage of oceanfront restaurants on the island, but this one is probably the nicest. The service is superior, reminding me of the top tier restaurants in the big cities. Food is mainstream American, on par with the vibe. It doesn t come in cheap. Prepare $100 per person for a full-course dinner.
The food is outstanding - add to that great service and a beautiful view of the sea and you are guaranteed a great dining experience!
We had the absolute worst experience. I know this is a long review but I feel that it depicts our complete experience. Check-in. When we arrived for our 8pm reservation (that I made exactly 30 days in advance), the host was abrupt with stating we have you sitting in the bistro tonight. We have no table available for you in the main dining room. This is why I attempted to reach you this afternoon over the telephone. After I expressed my concern, she was able to find a table. After waiting 30 minutes, we were sat at 8:30pm. Drinks. My partner ordered the cucumber infused gin cocktail and said that it was very tasty. I ordered the habanero pineapple margarita. 5 minutes later, the host returned to let me know that they were out of the habanero infused tequila for the evening. I ordered a glass of their champagne ($19/glass is a pretty good price) and it was also tasty. I like trying new champagnes and this was one that I had never heard of it. Food. They were out of EVERYTHING that I had wanted. They were out of the special offering lobster dinner, lobster tail add-on, scallops, and red snapper. There were several other things that they were out of as well. My partner ordered the tuna tartare and shrimp apps. The shrimp app was tasty but the tuna tartare was brown. I ordered the substitute mahi (for the red snapper) and it was pretty good (although not local). When we sat down at 8:30pm, we were starving. We tried to order bread with our water but was told that everything has to be ordered at the same time and that they would course it out. Needless to say, our bread arrived after our entrees. Service. Our waiter was kind and attentive until the end when he became short with us. The manager did stop by to apologize for our experience. She took off the bread and also added $24 in concessions. When the bill was presented, I asked that the tuna tartare be removed from the bill as my partner did not eat it (he told them it was bad when the remainder of the food was collected). We were told that we had waited too long (at the end of our meal) to mention this and that they were not going to remove it. The waiter even checked with the manager about this. After further pressing this (emphasizing that the tuna was brown and just bad), the tuna tartare was removed. We were so disappointed in our visit as the restaurant came recommended by friends and online. I would not visit this restaurant with high expectations. I just wanted the experience I had hoped for and not the discounted items. We were given many excuses for why our experience did not meet expectations; at the end of the day, the restaurant let us down tremendously.
The hostess was horribly rude and really set the tone for our horrific dining experience celebrating my husband s birthday. When we arrived, she refused to seat us even though more than half our party was there and the rest were parking the car and the restaurant was completely empty (we were the first seating). This left my elderly parents, the guest of honor, and myself standing around senselessly. This awful hostess then reprimanded my 8 year old nephew for wearing an adorable fedora, before he even entered the dining room (Address the parents, not the child! Know your etiquette!!). Throughout our hellacious evening, we notice other guests in the dining room wearing trucker hats and beanies! The menu was so limited that we were literally trying to find something on the menu to make do with. Absolutely no fresh, local sourced food and you re 10 feet from the water! As hosts and locals, we selected the restaurant for our out of town guests from Texas, we were mortified and will never be able to take this risk with our guests at Oceana.
Great dining experience
I was in St. Thomas in early January. A local recommended this place. By far, it was the best restaurant that we went to. To give you an idea, we stayed at the Marriott Bouy Autograph Collection Hotel... We ate at Luna Mar (Westin) and Isla Blue, and by comparison, I give those restaurants a 3 for price and quality. This one, worth the short trip from hotel, we loved it. All I can say is go, you wont be disappointed.
Oceana Restaurant in St. Thomas left an indelible impression with its breathtaking view of the azure waters and coastline, creating a serene and picturesque dining atmosphere. The panoramic vistas from the restaurant elevated the overall dining experience, offering a captivating backdrop to our meal. The menu featured a delightful array of fresh seafood and delectable dishes that showcased the culinary prowess of the chefs. Each dish was a symphony of flavors, highlighting the use of high-quality ingredients and culinary expertise. Pamela, our server, played a pivotal role in making our evening memorable. Her attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to the dining experience. Pamelas exceptional service further enhanced our enjoyment of the evening, as she skillfully guided us through the menu, provided insightful recommendations, and ensured that every detail of our dining preferences was met. Oceana Restaurant not only delivered a gastronomic delight but also showcased a commitment to exceptional service, making it a must-visit for those seeking a perfect blend of culinary excellence and breathtaking views in St. Thomas.
Excellent service
Great location and always a wonderful experience
Outstanding fine cuisine maybe the best in St. Thomas. Nice views for late afternoon and sunset dining.
Go near sunset and sit outside
The atmosphere was great, staff excellent and the food phenomenonal!!!!
This is a wonderful place for a fancy night out. Intimate, delicious and decadent.
Excellent all the way around. From management to the host/wait staff and of course the chef. Thanks for the experience :)
Excellent atmosphere, delicious food
What a sweet little surprise this restaurant was! Your drive to the restaurant may get you wondering where exactly you are going, but once you arrive you we see a quiet and peaceful view with a grassy seating area in front of the restaurant. I wish we would have arrived earlier to enjoy this space with a glass of wine before our meal. We asked to sit on the patio near the restaurants edge and our view was beautiful. We dined during sunset and the views were so colorful. The food and service was fantastic. Our favorites include the filet mignon, salmon, and Mahi. Lemon drop martini was also delicious.
Oceana has been a constant spot for our family to dine over the years, but the quality of food and service has declined over the past 3 years. The experience is no longer worth the premium.
Wonderful excuse to dress up and splurge while in St. Thomas! Gorgeous location - make sure your reservation is at a time you can see sunset for the best views. We were blown away by the pecorino fondue and tuna!
Great food and ambiance.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting. Its definitely great for special occasions.
We went here for my mom s birthday. The ambiance was perfect. There was a beautiful view of the water and an area to sit out and look at the ocean. The staff were extremely friendly & our server Pamela was very helpful with providing suggestions for what we should eat. I only had the Tofu but everyone s food including mine was AMAZING! The chefs really put careful thought into each dish. The wait wasn t long and it was such a fine dining experience. Highly recommend this place if you re visiting St. Thomas. Getting a reservation ahead of time is a must.
Great open air restaurant. Really good staff.
Absolutely amazing
The beet salad has a creamy feta dressing that is out of this world.
Not cheap but one of the nicest restaurants on the island. This was our 3rd visit.
Food was good, but you pay for the view. Prices are too high compared to what you get. Had a nice evening after all.
An excellent dining experience with great food and service in a perfect setting on the oceanside. We enjoyed a quiet table on the patio along the beach. The meal was perfect and afterward we relaxed and strolled thru the upstairs museum to see some paintings and pictures from local artists. The building has a long history and tradition of fine dining which they continue to live up to.
Fantastic place for a romantic dinner
Was a magical evening. Cara was a wonderful server and made our evening even more amazing.
Excellent food, right on the water. A hidden gem. Highly suggest going here
Nice waitress, good strawberry lemonade and scallops. Main complaint is that they do not have mac n cheese :)
I very rarely go to places that are high-end. Or charge more than 25$ a plate for food. There were many words on the menu I had never seen before. Foods I hadnt heard of, and our waitress, Pamela, was outstanding. Explaining what certain things were, how they were made, etc. She gave us recommendations for other spots around the island for the rest of our trip. It was a fantastic experience.
Amazing location and fresh seafood. Service was also top-notch. Ask for Clint!
Wonderful service! Elegant yet comfortable seating. The hostess whose name I didnt remember is so welcoming and checked on us frequently. Kara our waitress gave us attentive and very friendly service!
Can t miss fine dining on St.Thomas! Exquisite, fresh cuisine with excellent service and a beautiful venue. Highly recommend arriving early or staying after dinner and enjoying drinks from the bar in the lounge chairs out front with a beautiful view of the East Gregerie Channel.
Enjoyed the meal, great location and hence nice ambience. It was our first time back after 2016 and it did not disappoint. They also have a nice section above the bar with lots of art on the walls. Keep in mind that they do not have a kids menu (if you plan to eat there with kids).
Lovely setting and a fantastic meal! I had an amazing veal chop and my wife had Bouillabaisse. The fondue app was tasty as was the chocolate torte (warning it s not sweet if you re looking for that, but super tasty!).
Beautiful establishment. We were only able to get drinks and dessert but we enjoyed and will visit many times more.
Awesome location, old building with all kinds of character. Excellent food and service.
Words could not express how phenomenal this restaurant is. My wife and I eloped while in St. Thomas and we had our wedding dinner here with our 3 friends. We were given the best seat in the house overlooking the water! Everybody was so kind and our waitress, I think her name was Anna, was so excited for us and even brought out a sparkler for our celebration. And the FOOD! Best food we had while in St. Thomas. The filet mignon was TO DIE FOR. 10/10 recommend.
Atmosphere and service are impeccable, Id look forward to going back in the day time so I could see the waves. It was a wonderful place, even going to the bathroom you get a whole art gallery adventure upstairs. The host & servers were a team & worked seamlessly to ensure our tables dinner was perfect. The food was absolutely fantastic. I got the tuna & it was actually more than I could eat, with the bok choy & shiitake (cooked just the way I like). My husband got the salmon, & I think that was even more delicious, the asparagus wasnt that great but the fish made up for it. I did not have any drinks but I did try some different desserts. The chocolate truffle like cake was mind blowing & every other dessert we tried. I do highly recommend this place especially if you are financially able to explore the menu, since many items are highly priced. Youre paying for a great time.
Top notch food. Best seafood restaurant in St. thomas. Its a bit pricey but worth it. Food
Excellent food..we had the rabbit, cooked to perfection and salmon dinner. The best blueberry bread pudding and drinks... beautiful views and cool sea breezes! Great service too.
The staff was top notch, the food was excellently prepared. There are few better restaurants in st. Thomas
Excellent location, service and food... My idea of a perfect restaurant. I absolutely loved their cheese plate with the Dalmatian fig jam. (If I lived on STT Id be eating here every night preceding a full moon.)
Amazing atmosphere, staff, and the food was incredible!
It was delicious a must place to eat food is expensive but is worth it
By far, the best dining experience on St. Thomas. The food was incredibly fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. And the cocktails were fantastic. This combined with spectacular views and atmosphere made for a great night. Dont miss the salon upstairs which holds some very special local art. Make sure to ask for our server, Pamela - she is awesome and lots of fun!
Great location and atmosphere
One of the best meals Ive ever had. Perfect ambiance, perfect service, and the most excellent lobster, seabass and scallops that weve ever eaten. Just a perfect evening for our honeymoon dinner. Thank you to the staff and management for a delightful evening. Was it cheap? No. But it was so very worth it.
Amazing food and atmosphere. Recommend beet salad, oysters and halibut any day of the week. Beautiful views and an amazing staff. Highly recommend and easy to get a taxi.
Loved Oceana! Researched, read reviews and reserved a month in advance. Started at the bar, the bar tender was very knowledgeable and friendly. He told us about some of the menus items and how they are sourced. All fresh . Our waiter was very friendly, knew the entire menu and took the time to explain some items. Appetizers came out timely, I loved their take on the tuna tartare, my wife had the arrúguela salad. We both had the Halibut and it was excellent. Had the Blueberry & Vanilla pudding cake. So good. All around great experience.
We came to St Thomas for our honeymoon. We were there for 8 nights and Oceana was THE best restaurant of all that we went to. All the food was delicious, the staff was fantastic, and the view was beautiful. Highly recommend!
There are 3 things that make for a perfect restaurant. Ambience, food quality/presentation, and service. This Restaurant was a perfect score for me and my group of 6. This may be the best restaurant I have ever been to. I am from New York City and cooked there and have eaten in some of the finest restaurants in LA , Chicago, Miami and Charleston. My group came off of a cruise to eat real food and we hit the jackpot here. We met the owner behind the grill cooking and told her how appreciative we were about the entire experience. We cant say enough about this restaurant and our server Clint was top-notch. We travel throughout the caribbean and I would actually go back to Saint Thomas just to go to this restaurant.
The food rivals the view, and the view is breath taking. Service was amazing- Ask for Clint he s a wealth of local knowledge and truly knows the menu and flavors!
The place is beautiful, but food is completely overpriced. The lobster bisque was horrible. It cost $18. and I had to spit it out. It didnt look, taste or smell like a lobster bisque. The flat iron steak and sweet potatoes were good, the bass was flavorless and unseasoned.
A truly delightful experience! Adan, our waiter made sure that we had a phenomenal experience and we did. From his amazing recommendations and the food was spectacular. Our party of 11 left happy and stuffed. The ambiance was simply stunning. We took so many family pictures. Highly recommend!!
We had eaten here on a previous trip and they were accommodating and great food, so we made reservations and we were excited to return. Until my 12 year old daughter was told very rudely Princess we do not have kids menus, you should have gone somewhere else! My husband politely asked when we were here last time they made her butter noodles, with parmigiana cheese and bread . Server said well we do not have that on the menu, sorry she once again looked at my 12 year old daughter and said princess what do you eat? In a very condensing tone! So the 5 adults and my daughter got up and left to enjoy an awesome dinner at Aguave Grill in Haven Sight! I will never spend a dime here again and I will preach to the world about how rude the server was! Sad! It use to be a staple that we went ever time we were on the island!
We arrived about an hour before close. Wait staff was super friendly and provided drink and food recommendations. Everything was a bit pricey, but we walked in knowing this. The appetizers were more disproportionately priced and the entrees were more accurate. The jalapeño cranberry drink was delicious. Crisp and refreshing with a light zing. The oysters were great. The horseradish was on point. We also ordered garlic bread which was solid and went well with the oysters. I ordered the ribeye, cooked medium. 3/4 of the steak was cooked perfectly, and the rest was more medium well. For such a large piece of meat, I was happy with the quality. The taste was amazing. Rich and salty. Perfectly marbled. I dont like tomatoes, but they provided such a great contrast to the meat, I cleaned Mt plate. The scalloped potatoes had a unique rich flavor that was beyond amazing. We ordered desert drinks and some deserts. The desert drinks werent as good as we had hoped, but were still good enough to drink. Espresso martini was very strong and the snickerdoodle drink was very sweet. The creme brule had great flavor, but the sugar topping was not as solid and burnt as we like it. The bread pudding had great flavor and consistency. Wife ordered scallops for dinner. Im not a huge seafood fan, but she said they were cooked extremely well, but did not love the semi sweet sauce/fruits they were served on as she enjoys scallops served with butter and garlic.
This place is amazing. The view, ambiance, food, and service are off the charts. Next time I have an opportunity to go, I will. Love it. I only have a picture of the view and it does not do it justice
Greatbplace awesome food! At the waterfront
Amazing views with amazing service and amazing food. Wonderful birthday dinners and our waiter Clint was so professional, kind and personable. I will be back and recommend this place to all who get a chance to visit this wonderful island.
Good upscale seafood and other fare at an incredible location. Definitely a place to go on a hot date or when the parents are in town. Probably a bit on the pricier side otherwise.
Such a great view! Staff was great in every way. Cocktails especially great!
Always a good spot, the food is amazing and so is the view
I come here often and they always make me feel like a celeb
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all on point.
My wife and had an amazing meal at Oceana on our last night in St. Thomas. The food was spectacular and the setting and ambiance were top-notch. We ordered raw oysters and Wahoo ceviche as a starter, both of which were delicious. For my entree I had the grilled snapper special, and my wife had the Carribean curried Mahi. Excellent! Our server Adan was attentive and polite and gave us great food and beverage recommendations. When we return to St. Thomas, Oceana will certainly be on our date night dining short list. Parking: Parking was free, on-site, and plentiful.
Great place for any occasion. Appetizers at the bar with friends, dinner for 2, or an elevated dining experience for a group.
This was my second time at oceana with a group of friends for dinner and it did not disappoint. The ambiance is great as it is a terrace on overlooking the ocean. The service is good and the food is wonderful. Highly recommended when in St-Thomas
There were 8 of us. We had reservations and we were seated right away. Our wait person was very attentive. Food was great. I didnt care for the broccoli , but everything else was great.
Im in my fifties and I eat on average 2.69 meals per day and this food and this location are in the top 10 in both categories. Really fantastic scenery, great service (thanks Clint), and great food. 20/10 highly recommended.
The view from this great restaurant is amazing! And the food is just as amazing!
The crab cake was the best we had ever experienced. A must have the next time we are there! The tuna entree was delicious. Absolutely fine dining at its best! Superb service.
don t miss it
I loved this place. I have not been so full in a long time. I had the ceviche, the beet salad with whipped feta and a lobster. Plus a cocktail. The service was kind and attentive. The view was simply gorgeous.
One of the best restaurants in the world. Not sure why they don t have a Michelin star. It s worth every penny. We came two nights in a row. Pamela Reyson and Clint were top notch. Eva the manager has been running restaurants for 20 years and this is a crowning achievement.
Absolutely wonderful highly recommend
We had a fantastic meal at Oceana on a recent trip to St Thomas. Best dinner view on the island. Adan was a great waiter who gave us thoughtful recommendations and just the right amount of attention. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip!
Literally the best food on the island. Best service on the island. I came here only because Google said they had oysters, And it was my birthday. Our server Clint was so amazing! He was very professional and friendly and so well informed of everything. He was also very attentive even though we saw him serving everyone on the patio. The food was literally the best food on the island. I ordered the pistachio ice cream for dessert and I was so obsessed, you can definitely taste it was home made. He also didnt forget it was my birthday and brought out the sparkler candle. I had such an amazing experience. I cant wait to come back
Oceana was our favorite meal we had during our stay on St. Thomas. The service, drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all perfect. The view of the ocean and the overall atmosphere is stunning. Highly recommend.
5 stars all the way around.
We had the best wedding at Oceana! Patricia is amazing with her food selections and connections with vendors. Truly couldn t have asked for more. We are still getting venue and food compliments a year later Vegetarian options: we had two vegetarians that loved their dishes! Dietary restrictions: Patricia was very accommodating and creative to guests with dietary restrictions!
Beautiful setting. Fabulous service. Some dishes were amazing. But some fish dishes were overcooked and dry ie inconsistent
Wonderful location on the water with an open air atmosphere. The hostess (Eve) was knowledgeable about the restaurant, its menu, and the island in general. This was by far the best dinner we had this week on St. Thomas. It is a full price, fine dining establishment and worth it!
This was a great find. First time staying on this part of the island and thought we d try this place out for dinner. Very relaxing!! Service was not what I would have expected, but the overall experience made up for it.
Amazing dinner location! Food is on the expensive side but our meals were bursting with flavor. TIP: Get there early enough to watch the colors change at sunset In the sky. Dinner is outdoors but under cover. Make a reservation!
The view and the service are awesome..the food is top notch. Best place to eat with your significant other on the island.
