Neat semi-underground coffee and drinks bar with small meals. There are plenty of windows looking out to the neighbourhood though. I believe this used to be the old jail but they dont play this up.

Great spot for a drink and grub. We celebrated our wedding here last year with live music and it was amazing. Staff is great and the decor is fantastic.

I absolutely love this place. Its a really nice spot that manages to feel classy yet relaxed all at once. The drinks are all great and although Ive never ordered food, when friends have, it looks delicious. I keep coming back again and again.

Superb food! They only had half their menu available when we were there, but what they did have was FANTASTIC! We had the deep dish pizza and a chicken quesidilla. Fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. Good sized portions also! They were short staffed but they hustled and got the job done. Would highly recommend this relaxed atmosphere place. Vegetarian options: They were able to accommodate veggie options.

Great spot. First time there. Lady at bar was amazing. Great personality. Ordered wings and pizza. Wings were really good. Pizza needs to be cooked on a sheet with holes to allow built up moisture to dissipate and about one minute longer. Pizza dough was still a big undercooked and doughy.

Really wanted to like this place when visiting PEI last weekend. We attended the comedy show, which was great, but the staff and kitchen were very underwhelming. The friend I came with has many dietary restrictions so we called ahead to find out what could be made vegan/gluten free and were told that she could have the quesadillas or nachos. We come and are then told bluntly that she couldnt have the quesadillas sometimes we have the corn tortilla sometimes we dont. She decided to order the nachos and when they came, it was just cheese and beans on it. None of the other toppings listed from the menu. When asked, again we were bluntly told we dont have the guac right now. The quesadilla I ordered was supposed to have peppers, onions, cilantro and taco sauce. Instead I received dried out/flavourless cheese and chicken, nothing else. The waitress excused it by saying that their menu is under renovation. If thats the case, this establishment needs to print new menus or be clearer when people are ordering. It is a huge disappointment to order one thing and receive another. And we both experienced it. And the staff were cold and blunt and not kind about any of it.

All I will say is....LOADED FRIES. Its a great little spot with great food and the loaded fries are amazing. The waitress was lovely. The atmosphere is always relaxing.

5 stars cause of the manager. What a great place to go with friends. You can have coffee or drinks alcohol or non acohol. We had a great time. The glass that the drinks come in are cool and unique. Nice wine glasses and beer glasses. When we asked the manager if we could purchase the glasses she said No. The bar does let you buy them. I wish they would sell these glasses and beer glasses . They would make a great addition to my collection. We are from Saskatchewan all we wanted was a nice token of a great spot in Charlettown PEI. Ya there are hats but really the GLASSES ARE WHERE ITS AT. The server and manager (nice young lady, very friendly, does her work very well) they where great. I am sorry I forgot your names. If your in Charlettown you should stop here. Well thought out and friendly. P.S Love the glasses. Wish I could buy them. Cheers. Thanks Sam

I pop in here when Im getting my car maintained in the area. Unassuming pub with a great beer selection and pub menu. And unexpectedly, the best pizza on PEI! Seriously great pizza!

Nice cozy setting and the food we ordered was very tasty. Seemed like they were expecting it to have been quieter as only one person was working the bar and taking orders, however they were friendly and even brought us over some complementary cookies as we had to wait a bit for our food. Who ever that person was was working hard and did an awesome job.

Clean, quiet, friendly staff, and great vibes are some of the things that come to my mind when asked about bar1911. Would absolutely recommend to someone looking for a great meal, or anyone looking for a warm beverage and a quiet place to sit down and do school work, read, or simply just relax!

Good coffee and food, great atmosphere. Giving it 4 rather than 5 because a glass tumbler broke in my hands as it was being served to me and I still got charged for the drink! That was ridiculous!

Funky chic reno of the old jail. Good draught selection, thin pizza and adequate menu choices . Service was banterous and fun. Out of Montreal smoked meat and no mushrooms on the pizza as ordered but still pretty good. Would return

The staff was friendly but inattentive. The food was ok , basically everything not bad, but not great.

Located in the basement of the old prison, this is a high-quality Quebec-Ottawa style gastro pub. The crowd is mixed and varies during the day from business casual to working students to dates to louder groups. Food selection is higher pub type, tap options are fantastic. Prices a little higher than expected but youre paying for quality and fantastic service from the crew here, who are exceptional (like much of our island).

Bar 1911 is a cozy spot for studying, meetings, dates, whatever you need! The option of coffee or beer means there is something for everyone. My wife and I spend a good amount of time here after work when we dont have time to drive home before an event.

The service, atmosphere, and food were all pretty good. Disappointing though they couldnt serve us the only vegan breakfast option we came there for (of 3 total options). My London Fog was also terribly weak, tasted like just milk basically. I feel like he just put the tea bag directly into the steamed milk to steam, so it just floated on top, never really steeping properly. But the server was very nice and ran upstairs to grab us some honey sriracha.

Loved the egg sandwich! Nice, roomy space. Unlike others, this cafe wont make you feel rushed to make room for others.

Service is excellent, great sharing plates.

Takeout experience was fast, ordered over the phone, picked up from the counter on-time! Burger was delicious (ordered the Burger Love 2020 burger, forget its name), but felt like I could eat the fries with my meal without being completely gorged. Only critique would be that the burger was a bit well done for my tastes (well seasoned but maybe slightly overcooked).

Great little rustic (without being contrived) atmosphere. Limited but tasty menu, with a nice variety of Island-based craft brew options at the ready.

We must have went on a really off day because our experience was nothing like the reviews here. We walked in and we were immediately greeted, and we informed them it was our first time there. They informed us that menus were on the table and sit wherever wed like. We picked a neat looking table that was an upcycled cable roll. First thing we noticed were the 3 bolt holes in the table FILLED with old food and crumbs (a celiacs worst nightmare). This table was wiped down before we got there, so its not like it wasnt cleaned. Its literally probably a day or two worth of nasty build up though, so avoid this tables if possible. After 17 minutes, we finally got to put in our order. There was other customers present, but they were all attended to. However the female worker was attending to her phone and social media. The male server came back to us about 20 minutes later asking WHAT WE ORDERED. Hes the one that took our order. It was 2 coffees and nachos. My mom took me here as a night afternoon out since my life has been turned upside down my a recent diagnosis. One would expect a coffee within 37 minutes, however the beans werent even being ground until we stood up and started walking out. So extremely disappointed.

Great atmosphere, food and service was awesome, I cant wait to go back. If your looking for a place to get a nice lunch this is a great choice.

Delicious coffee! Such a comfy spot - great old couches and armchairs around the place, with games, tasty cookies and some really tempting beer options to come back for. The bartender was really friendly and welcoming.

What a fabulous location for a get together with friends. Love that they are serving coffee from Pilot Coffee Roasters as they are one of my favourites. Great selection of beers on tap. Spent a lot of time here this week as my wife was up at UPEI on course. Will definitely be back and highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a good coffee or drink with friends!

Great staff, friendly and efficient. They only carry the best beers and lots of choice Its Deliciously good craft beer.Food is excellent and priced well. We love the decor of this funky old former jail.

Great food......and even being understaffed......the guy who waited on us(a big family...basically 2 tables).....was kinda overwhelmed but did a great job!!! I recommend this place! Its worth a 5 or 10 min wait due to the staff being slammed!!

I enjoy Bar 1911, though Ive never gone at typical bar hours. Its spacious, well lit during the day, and their burgers and fries were fantastic. It was a bit hard to get ahold of someone to order, but honestly may have just been due to the hour and shift changes so I wasnt overly bothered by it.

It is THE place to stop in to work. Have a coffee, a drink or lunch. Its ready for anything you need.

Bar1911 is my favourite coffee shop in town! Great ambience and decor, lots of space, good coffee, good beer - even a board game or two to play if you re so inclined! The staff here are awesome - friendly, helpful, and they provide a really welcoming atmosphere. Great place to have a coffee and read a book!

Really nice atmosphere!

The bar is really neat and has a lot of old history to it. The for options were great and were demolished by my group. Id highly recommend the dips with the bread. There is also a great selection of beers and drinks.

I come here every Tuesday for a d&d session and they have been really accomodating for that. Great food and a vast selection of drinks. Friendly workers. Always am happy to come back.

The location is weird the middle of nowhere by Charlottetown standards but that might work for it rather than against. The renovation has transformed the space into a pleasant den-like room. Coffee is well prepared. The only knock is the presence of many huge TVs on all walls, which tilt it sports-bar when it could have gone quiet-club.
