Excellent dinner with a small (of course several) refreshments with impeccable service and a singer to accompany it all. Lots of choices of beers from local microbreweries as well as from the Maritimes.

We had dinner on a Saturday and the atmosphere was good.

Serving staff are kind and helpful, however, the security confiscated a legitimate American ID from a 23 year old and refused to give it back, possibly even after he brought his passport. After waiting for him to return with his passport from our hotel for about 40 minutes in pouring rain, the security decided that their scanner said that the license was in fact legitimate, wasting all of our time. Will not be returning.

We thought we would have a nice time at this bar but oh were we wrong. The bouncers took it upon themselves to claim my 23 year old American friend s ID to be fake, they refused to give it back and threatened to call the inspector. We asked them why they thought it was a fake and they refused to tell us, when we asked them to scan it they claimed they didn t have a scanner. We then offered to walk 20min in the pouring rain to get my friend s passport as proof. Even this simple request turned into a big argument, we had to argue for over 10min and beg them to not hand over the ID to the inspector while my friend went to grab his passport. After they finally agreed and my friend had left to get his alternative ID, it was only then that the bouncers decided to ask a co-worker who miraculously magically had a scanner. They then waited another 10min before coming to tell us that they scanned the ID and that it was indeed real. Once they gave us the ID we immediately went to leave and yet somehow a physical fight had broken out.

I came here with a group of friends today and one of us, who had a US driver s license, got their ID taken and the staff refused to give it back, insisting that he return to the bar with his passport to prove he was of age. All of us waited for him to return, knowing he was of age. During the process, the staff involved were very hostile and rude to the people in the group who were waiting. After around twenty minutes, the staff told us that it was a real ID and returned it. We were leaving when a different member of staff targeted another member of our party, trying to prevent him from leaving and attempting to be physically violent with him. It is worth noting that the only people directly affected by the staff were not caucasian, and not all of our party got ID d when we entered the bar. This experience left a very poor taste in everyone s mouth, and we left shaken and disappointed. The staff wrongfully confiscated an ID and were extremely hostile towards us.

If Im being honest, the food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely wonderful. The servers we had were great; they were very accommodating for us moving around tables to avoid the rain, and they brought food and drinks to us very quickly. Unfortunately, my friend had their (fully legal) American ID confiscated wrongfully. The bouncers refused to scan the license and would not return it, demanding he go home and return with his passport. They were also becoming increasingly rude with our group, they were threatening to call the liquor bureau and the police. When they finally scanned the ID and found it was legal, they let us leave with it, but they were being very rude to us to the point of becoming aggressive, we had to step in way between the bouncers and a few people in the group. I must reiterate that the service was grand, and we had a lovely time until this incident occurred. We will not be returning unless the staff hires new bouncers who dont take IDs from Asian Americans and bully their customers. Cannot recommend.

The beer was ok, although overpriced. We unfortunately had an awful experience. A member of our party (more than 20 people) got his ID confiscated by a security staff. They would not give his ID back and told him he would have to walk in the heavy rain to go get another ID so he could MAYBE get it back. After more than 40 minutes of arguing with the manager in the rain and the person having to literally walk back to get their passport, they gave the ID back. The situation was poorly handed by the staff who were rude and completely unreasonable. It almost escalated into a physical fight. I do not recommend this establishment.

My friends and I (around 20 of us) were having a great time eating, drinking, and dancing UNTIL the security thought my friends American ID was fake. They treated all of us very disrespectfully when speaking to them and tried to confiscate it from him. They even made him walk through POURING RAIN to get more ID to prove his age. Once they verified his ID to be true the security were still very rude to our group, and even got violent with a few members. It s also worth noting that the people who received direct disrespect from the staff were not caucasian. Hopefully the management of this place reads this review and does takes action, the staff working need to be held accountable for their actions! Do not go here and waste your time and money!!!!

I cant say whether or not the food was good because we only had beverages. They had an amazing life band that hit all the notes. The bar had extended outdoors, and it started to rain, but nobody cared. There was some shelter above us, but we all got wet and have a great time.

We went with a group of friends (all in our twenties), they checked our ID s, nothing out of the ordinary so far. One friend was 23 years old and had a Nevada driver s license. The bouncer has never seen a Nevada driver s license before so he claimed it was fake and confiscated it, told him to leave the premises and refused to return his drivers license to him. Now of course this is a very important piece of ID for my friend and losing it would mean so much trouble for him. My friend offered to go back to the hotel (20 minute walk in the pouring rain) to get his passport to prove the ID was real, but the bouncer very condescendingly told him that he already confiscated the DL and there s no way he s getting it back even if he proves his age. After a long argument the bouncer finally agreed to let my friend retrieve his passport and promised to return the DL if it matches his passport. After my friend has left in the pouring rain, and a long persuasion from the friend group, the staff finally brought his DL to a scanner, and surprise surprise, it was indeed legitimate. Now my problem is not the bouncer taking his job seriously, but rather his arrogance, being so confident that the piece of ID is fake just because he hasn t seen something like that before. It s his stubbornness in refusing to return the ID no matter what my friend does to prove his age, and refusing to use the scanning machine sooner because he is overly confident he was right. His excuse was that he didn t know the machine existed. Really stupid excuse if you ask me: any well trained staff should know about the equipment available and proper procedures to take before taking such drastic measures. If this was genuinely true then that reflects poorly on the establishment for failing to train their employees. Needless to say, none of us will be returning ever again.

Fun place, came here when visiting from out of town and had a good time

Awesome experience, great local live music that kept people engaged and having fun, we had the chicken burgers with Valentina hot sauce - incredible and awesome PEI beer selection. Our only feedback is we felt the beer was a little expensive.

Very good! I particularly recommend the lobster tacos (there are 3) which are really well stocked and much less expensive than the traditional lobster roll. Beautiful atmosphere with live music and pretty landscaping filled with flowers. A good address in Charlottetown!

Avoid this place. The doorman was a complete moron. Tried to steal my id. I am concerned they are engaging in identify theft. I am 33 years old and being carded by a 20 year old idiot. Lol. The manager was no better. I guess they are either bigots toward Quebecers or just plain stupid. Hope this place is not an example of PEI hospitality.

Im from Québec , and they told me that my Healthcard (that is a common id in Québec) was not valid there , even tho i just went to the bar in front and my Healthcard was all they needed to let me in. Im 33 years old , ive bought alcool and cigarettes many times on the island , never had a problem. The bouncer was SUUUPER RUDE , ask me for my PASSEPORT IN MY OWN COUNTRY! DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Very rude , the owner should review his staff and politics... Go to the bar in front instead or Babas lounge.

Great location to go to especially in the summers but also in the winters. Ambiance in the patio during the summer is awesome and they have a great selection of beers and other drinks. Highly recommend for beer drinks that are into the sun and live music! Friendly staff too.

Were from away as they say there. Went at the Beer Garden with my wonderful girlfriend on a Thursday night. We had brilliant live music, a platter of seafood delights to share - its like a taste of PEI at every bite - a few drinks and a great service with a smile from every staff member all evening. We were full, happy and singing - shout out to Richie and Travis !

The chips were horrible. The fish was great.

Food was decent, the lobster orders were, as expected, amazing, but the service was subpar. Took forever for us to order, even though there were plenty of servers standing around by the POS system. Service wasnt great, the food was good, and the drink menu was plentiful.

I loved the atmosphere and the outdoor large version of games in the garden area. Had the buffalo chicken tater tot pountine and wings, both were delicious. Wasnt sure about some of the beers on tap that we tried... however, I gave the pineapple party punch a try and it was the best thing Ive ever had off tap!

Loved it! Intially we werent sure because we had kids with us, but our waitress was stellar. The food was amazing and so was the band. Would absolutely recommend.

Amazing food setting and music

It was awful. First of all, the place is dark. We went to watch live music. Because of weather it was cancelled and they didnt update it on their website. I ordered poutine. The fries were completely burned and just a little bit cheese on top and cold. Poutine usually have some good amount of melted cheese and gravy. We ordered different types of tacos. The rice was cold, uncooked and no salt at all. Fish was cold and chicken had weir taste. Nacho came with a little bit of sauce and we didnt know why we have nacho with food, but no sauce. They used plastic cup to give us water. For 19 or 20 dollar taco, you would expect, they bring water at least in a glass. I feel, I was ripped off. I am so regretted that I took my sister and niece to this place. And about the tip, there is no choice of 10%. It start with 15%,and up to 25%. When I complained about poutine, she said some fries are naturally crispy which doesnt make sense to me and has nothing to do with getting 17 dollars completely burned fries. The waitress did not apologize at all.We paid 87 dollars for nothing. For sure we wont back at all.

Great band Monday night when we were there. They played all original(to others) music, very well. We had a super fun time bantering with them. Beer was local and very good.

I had the Burrito Bowl with haddock. I have eaten in a lot of rataurants and this dish was one of the best dishes I have ever had. It was soooooo good. Dietary restrictions: They have Gluten-Free options.

Too expensive

What a great spot, nice inside and outside seating, just be aware that if live music is inside it can get quite loud. The outside space is great, we went in bad weather and were still comfortable under their large tent roofs. The food was absolutely amazing. We collectively had a poke bowl (salmon option, was beautifully made and a huge portion), the Dawg (worth ordering just to see it, very good), the Dirty Reubie (awesome burger, messiest Ive ever eaten but also one of the tastiest) and the bulgogi cauliflower bites (also plenty for the serving, and very good). Great beer choices, great service, an awesome place to hang out!

Just stayed for four nights and unfortunately I am disappointed. The rooms really need a refurbishment. The carpet smelled smoke and musty. The rooms are very noisy bed not that comfortable but the service was nice. We had a group of golfers staying there and they were smoking all the time outside and I think in their rooms also as it smelled smoke sometimes when I came back from dinner.

Really nice place, smart design and quite obvious the quality of the canopy. Great selection of consommation product (liquid). Food is pub style so no surprises there. No signature dish or other differentiators. Caters to a wide range of clients from young to old. More for groups than single and couples but ok for couples also. Decent variation of music to please many different style. However it competed with the loud music from across the street and it created an unfocused noise environment at time depending on the timing of the competing songs. Customer service depends on who you get for service so it ranges from good to decent to mehhh. The (what seems to be) doormen or greeters are completely the wrong employee profile. I ve worked 7 years in bars + managed for 2 years and the 2 clowns at the entrance are unsuited for the position of management are serious in trying to create a good first impression. Too many employees grouped together chit chatting or flirting with each other instead of working the floor. Management seems absent. I don t want to sound too harsh or judgemental but that was my observation during the hour and a half I was customer there.

Nice food and ambiance. They have live music, but in our case, the female singer loved to yell and the volume was too loud, so we left because of that. The band (from Ontario) was good though.

Great food for a very fair price. The band had a great repertoire and hardly took a break. They encouraged us to sing along! Fun and delicious . Kids are welcome.

My husband and I went to the Beer Garden & Seafood Patio for drinks and dinner July 18th, We had Fish &Chips and a 1Lb of Islander Mussels. The food was delicious and the service was great!! They had a Live band that made the evening even more enjoyable!! Will definitely visit the Beer Garden & Seafood Patio again!!

The food was OK (not great) for a pub, but there were a few things that made the meal less-than, so I felt compelled to provide feedback. 1) The service was very slow -- Id say it took an hour for our food. It would be nice for the hostess to advise or for the waitress to check in. We had no idea we would be waiting so long. 2) The second thing was that my sons burger came without a side. That was surprising -- the waitress never asked what side he wanted (we assumed fries) or let us know that we could order a side separately. Just a little weird. 3) There were several surprises on the bill. - The waitress asked my son if he wanted a refill on his pop. Typically a refill is free -- if she had asked would you like another drink?, i would assume Im paying. He would have had a second drink regardless (because the food took so long), but I was surprised there was a charge for it. She actually asked if he wanted a 3rd refill - yes, it took that long for the food. - The bill for my drink was $8.50 (before tax and service) where it was advertised as $8. - I was charged $4 for the protein on my burrito bowl, which was not indicated on the menu. The menu says it comes with choice of meat -- but that it would cost extra. All in all, the experience was OK (mostly because it was a nice sunny day and our first on the island), but several problems with pricing/transparency/service left a bad taste in my mouth. There are many choices downtown - Id go elsewhere next time.

It was a fun Friday evening with live band! We had stayed in Charlottetown only one night and this was very close to our hotel. We had fish tacos and burrito bowl with mole pulled chicken. They were delicious.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner unexpectedly and were so happy that we did. Our server was unbelievably accommodating and helpful. We ended up ordering mussels as our main based on his recommendations and they were excellent!! Afterwards I decided to have dessert and coffee which is not really their strong suit BUT this server was determined to get me whatever I wanted. I asked for a Spanish coffee, gave him just the basic ingredients and he brought back the best Spanish coffee Ive ever had. Needless to say, the food was excellent, service fantastic and in case I didnt mention, the live band was interactive and went out of their way to play anything you asked for. Highly recommend this restaurant!

I cant say enough great things about the beer garden. I recently got married and my now wife and I wanted to steal away for a quick pint after our ceremony before our reception. I went to the beer garden prior to the big day and asked if they could save a table in the corner. The gentleman mentioned that even though they dont take reservations, they would love to have us. When we got there my wife in her gown, and I in my suit we were greeted warmly, the staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly and attentive. Live music is awesome as well. A must stop when your in town for a great selection of craft beer and some good vibes.

In Charlottetown for the first time...Friends told me this is a must! They were RIGHT. Its a lovely place. Only had an apple snap ($9.40) it was delicious.

2nd time I have gone there. 2nd time the food experience was terrible. Ordered fish and chips, was way over cooked, burned crispy. Was looking forward to some ice cold island brews, instead got warm flat beer. There wont be a third opportunity to be dissapointed here. The waitress was very good, she knew the fish was junk too, and suggested we let her tell the chef.

The toilets are clean and the beer was cold. Its not a fine dining experience, but if you want sustenance during a night of drinking, it does the job.

When we arrived, there was no one at the hostess station. We wrote down our contact information (for covid) and found our own table. The waitress that served us was nice, helpful and polite. She was doing her best. They did seem understaffed though, since she wasnt able to check up on us and it took a while to get utensils after getting our food. When we first arrived, we thought we had to order at the food truck. When I told the staff I wanted the burger with a salad, I was told to order with our waitress. Once we got the menus, I changed my mind, wanting the nachos. Which I ordered from the waitress.The cooking staff however sent over the burger. Fortunately, our waitress was able to cancel the nachos. The food was by far the biggest disappointment of the evening, Im sorry to say. My burger tasted burnt and the meat was dry. The salad didnt have dressing. In my party, one person had the deep fried oysters, which seemed to have been frozen, and were bland. The bacon wrapped scallops were good, but the salad also had no dressing and we never got an order of sweet potato fries. The deep fried clams were ok. For both the clams and oysters, the ratio of fries to seafood was comical. The band was pretty ok! The ambiance too. I just wish the food had been better, and the staff better managed.

This place was a good location and patio to try but the service was very poor. Noticeable slow and the staff kept forgetting to bring us what we asked for. The managers and bartenders here seemed to enjoy chatting amongst themselves more than asking if their customers needed anything. Servers kept forgetting to bring what we asked for (water, napkins, drinks, etc.). Beer was pretty good but the food was very poor. They used the least amount of protein as possible and deep fried everything way too much. I can t say we ll be back.

Very poor food and welcome. Drinks are limited and food is very under average. Don t go for the Lobster roll, comes on a very basic burger bun, and not good. Hot wings are just covered with tons of very very hot sauce so soggy. Service is below average and the managers are not amicable. Though the location and venue seem cool, hard pass for a next time!

Came here with 3 other people and had some drinks while we waited for another restaurant to call us about our table. Great place to come and just drink and they are open late. Great atmosphere and the staff is very attentive! Our waitress was Crowbar and she was great! The next time we visit Charlottetown, my group agreed we will be back!

Maybe its because Im from Toronto and constantly starved for outdoor space, but I really liked the casual vibe of the Beer Garden. We were in Charlottetown for two days and lucked out on the weather so we visited twice. It wasnt terribly busy but nonetheless, kudos to our server who was very sweet and attentive. The live music consisted of covers and was decent (though perhaps a little too much John Mayer / Ed Sheeran for my taste). They also have games like Connect 4 and Cornhole available. They have a good selection of craft beer.
