Amazing food !!

Wonderful cosy place. Great coffee, and a good wide selection of other drinks and foods to go or stay a little longer. Staff have a good memory clearly! Vegetarian options: Options marked up at the counter and staff happy to check!

Very ordinary service, or rather non-existent. No one came to greet us at the door, so we went to sit down, only to be told - not very kindly - that we should have been assigned a seat. We had to ask for glasses of water, after receiving the food. No response or a hint of a smile given to our thanks. No one came back to our table afterward. The food was good but the plates were bare for the price (absolutely nothing to accompany the veggie burger, alone on its plate). The huevos rancheros were very good.

We had the best start to our day here. Great coffee and my yogurt bowl was amazing! Our waitress was awesome too! Hoping to go back one more time on our trip. Also bought coffee beans to enjoy at our accommodations and it s been so yummy! Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating of our infant and toddler. Also, they have a kids menu.

Great coffee, but staff was not. We waited to be seated and no one would seat us so we went and seated ourselves. Then the staff would look at us and avoid us not giving us a menu or even a hello. So, we went to go order in line instead since they wouldn t serve us for whatever reason. I then asked the person at cashier if we can sit after we grab our coffee and she said no problem. The people serving were clearly upset that we seated ourselves by giving us unhappy looks. Very unpleasant experience.

Went back twice for their iced latte after going for breakfast one morning. Great coffee and atmosphere, and the food was great

My daughter and I stopped at Receivers in June when we were visiting Charlottetown. The latte was the best that I have ever had and the Island Hotcakes were absolutely delicious.

Its not clear whether its self-service or order-based. Seems to be popular with locals.

Although the cafe is located in the center of downtown, the prices were reasonable and the staff were very nice. The food and breads were also very delicious. Highly recommended!

Nice clean cafe with ideal location. Food and coffee were great! Service, on the other hand, was stale and cold. I stepped up to the counter with a smile and said, Hi, how are you? to the person at the register when she beckoned me to step up to the till with nothing more than a nod. I was responded with just a, What do you want? - no greeting, no smile, nothing.. I gave my order. Said please and thank you. Got nothing back from the person serving me. Didnt get anything from the barista who simply dropped my order on the corner of the counter. We were several people waiting for their food and drink. The order sat there for a minute before one of us asked the barista who the order belonged to. Barista just glanced at the production screen and announced a name without even looking at the customer. We glanced at each other and shrugged. You know, if you expect people to tip a minimum of 18% for takeaway coffee and pastries, maybe give a bit more warmth than what comes from a mug?

What an amazing cafe/bistro for drinks and food! Every single bite of the breakfast bowl was full of unique flavours. One bite savoury and the next one with a little bit of heat. I highly recommend this and other locations on the island!

I had the strawberry-lemon jam croissant. A pure delight. The croissant was so tasty. Im still dreaming about it, it was so good and my latte was creamy and perfect. A big YES for the place.

First time here, the drip coffee was very sour, and didn t taste much like coffee. I don t like leaving bad reviews, but this was one of the worst cups of coffee I ve ever had.

My absolute favourite coffee shop in Canada. I make sure to stop by every time I m through Charlottetown. Just wish it was open earlier.

People rant about this place and their in-house roasted coffee but its one of my least favourite brews. Im a coffee snob and keep the company of trained baristas and collectively we arent fans. The food is of higher calibre than their beans. Service is a bit above average. The atmosphere is ok. Personally, not my first choice as theres much more outstanding options in the area.

What a shop. REAL sour dough bread, real non chemical decaf coffee which may be the best I ve ever tasted. It s a must to go there.

Always my go to place when I m in Charlotte town! Ate all my lunches and breakfasts here while I was in town and in a rush. Staff are so lovely and everything on the menu is delicious.

They get so many things RIGHT. Lovely atmosphere, especially in summer with the patio doors open. Nice food, salads, desserts, some filling meals. The coffee is sometimes really good, but it s somewhat hit or miss it would be nice if they d pay attention to when an espresso shot is burnt. (I understand it s hard to find obsessive baristas year-round in PEI.) Aside from that, great spot. Super cozy cafe!!

Excellent breakfast sandwich!

We ordered coffee just before close, which might be our fault, but it was really bitter and three of us threw our coffees away, unfortunately.

While the coffee is great, the chai latte and food was extremely mediocre. We ordered the Receiver breakfast and asked for it to be vegan. They didn t bring the vegan sausage that is a part of the extra $3 charge. They apologized for it and offered a muffin, but when we said we were already too full, they didn t offer any discount for the missed item on the bill. One of the servers whom we asked to bring ketchup left and never came back. I had to go downstairs and ask for it myself. That same server when asked if they had any aioli for the potatoes said No but the other server whom I spoke to downstairs said they had garlic aioli and brought it to us. Finally, the vegan scramble itself was borderline bitter, because perhaps to match the color of eggs, the chef added too much turmeric, which is a big no! Ask any person of Indian origin! The multigrain toast was dry toasted and felt like my mouth went to war with my food. We had to ask for a side of butter as it was never offered to us. I can t believe how many things went wrong today with just one little order! This is our day 2 of visiting Charlottetown, which we love as a city. Hopefully we find better coffee/breakfast experiences elsewhere.

Perfect art of coffee done by barista even I ordered mocha. I love the vibes on being top corner table. The breakfast set is kind of healthy with own choice of eggs. See you again in future days. It s perfect place for coffee.

A great little casual place, where we stopped for a light lunch. Good pastries and tea.

Cozy atmosphere , with a terrace and some seating options on the main floor and upstairs. Slightly slow counter service when I was there on a Sunday. Latte and drip coffee was good.

Food is pretty good. Smaller portions than expected. Prices are higher than expected. Wait time for just a coffee/latte is way too long. I work in an office nearby and the few times Ive popped in to get a mid-afternoon coffee Ive waited much too long. It appears only one person is ever able to make espresso based drinks which leads to a bottleneck and the wait for drinks being much longer than needed or expected. Dont come expecting to grab a quick coffee.

Waitress took our order very quickly & then disappeared never to be seen again....another waitress brought my friends coffee but not mine...had to flag her down & then again ask for water....I ordered the beef chimichurri breakfast bowl - it was swimming in oil & I found 2 large pieces of pure fat - it literally made my stomach churn & I felt sick all day - I shouldve sent it back....my friends eggs Benny were a total disappointment - barely warm & not worth the money they charge....we had to ask for cutlery & when she brought it, she only brought 1 knife & asked if we needed 2??!! Only brought 1 napkin between the 2 of us & again we had to ask for our water.....hint for management - if you are going to have tables upstairs have a wait station set up there too!! Definitely have crossed this place off my list

Im pretty spoiled when it comes to coffee, and this is the best Ive had in Canada. Great location too! Had live music outside to enjoy.

The coffee is great, the interior is lovely, as is the patio when it s open. The food is reliably delicious, although today I had their hotcakes and was disappointed. They do free refills of drip coffee, as everywhere should

Took a stroll around Charlottetown on a quiet morning. Stopped into Receiver Coffee on the row. The service was friendly and quick. The London Fog and cinnamon roll hit the spot. There was no room inside to sit but I enjoyed as I continued the stroll.

We just got a beer and mocha here. Its a great spot in the evening sun and theres a nice buzz at this end of Victoria Row. Mocha was disappointing though - not enough coffee, not enough coffee.

Great to visit at morning or evening. Be sure to get some ground to go if visiting. Great coffee.

Came highly reviewed and had to try this place out. Hands down, if I had to choose a Starbucks over this place, I would choose this place!! Receiver Vic Row out did themselves from the moment you walk in! The team is friendly and happy to help and provide you with good quality food and drinks. You definitely need to try the heuvos rancheros the curried eggs on rye (to die for delicious). Even the fried red skin potatoes (local PEI grown) were just superb without any condiments needed!!! The coffee perfectly brewed with a dash of maple syrup (canadian tradition) was out the door. Again, the choice between Starbucks and Receiver Vic Row (hands down Receiver) should get a gold medal for service and quality of food. Thank you, team, for making my morning amazing!!!

Great spot. Server was a little preoccupied with conversation with someone else. My wifes coffee sort of weak my espresso honestly, not to be rude had a bile taste to it. So I dont know if the pipes need to be cleaned. It is what it is, one time visitor so no need to worry about me.

Always solid brunch and lunch, great sweets and coffee never disappoints. The atmosphere is adorable here almost always.

What a great little coffee house. Found you after we landed in your lovely city. Airport, hotel and then you. First was a coffee. What a great coffee. Second was coffee and brownie. What a great brownie. Then was breakfast...OMG! Eggs cooked perfectly along with bacon that was crisp but chewy all at the same time, dam good home fries and brioche toast. But wait, it gets better... Banana bread french toast topped with bananas and candied walnuts. Outstanding! We will be back next time were in town. Thank you

We came here twice- once for coffee and dessert and the other for brunch. We had been told Mia Casa was the best spot in town for brunch but we highly recommend this spot instead! Great service by young friendly staff.

Excellent coffee! Weve tried the cappuccino and expresso, and we strongly recommend it! Receiver was our pitstop everyday before our trips to the beaches. We had the chance to work from there a couple of hours and was amazing (note: my partner and I are certified baristas, and trying local roasts are our thing when travelling, you will not be disappointed). The environment is also really nice!

We ate here twice in our four days in PEI. The vegan breakfasts are so good!!! The tofu huevos rancheros was excellent, I got it both times. The tofu scramble breakfast was top notch. The lattes were delicious, not too sweet, and tasted exactly the same both days (which unfortunately is not common at some other coffee shops). Bought some Operator blend beans to brew at home and made some great iced coffee. Wish we lived closer to Receiver!! Vegetarian options: A number of vegan dishes available, and some dishes that are not but can be prepared vegan with substitutions. Definitely have oat milk, not sure about other alternative milks.

Place was busy and service was decent. We went there in the morning and server was accommodating as you can tell they were slightly understaffed. I ordered the Billionaires Bacon Grilly and it was well made. Would recommend.

My wife and got two cups of coffee and two muffins to go. The muffins were not the ones we ordered, but no big deal mistakes happen, we ate them anyway and they were actually pretty good. The reason for my harsh review is the coffee. I have never in my life had such a bad cup. It was a putrid, bitter, cup of hot sewage. There is not one redeeming thing I could honestly say about these coffees. I have had instant coffee that absolutely blows this coffee out of the water. Both of our coffees were tossed into the trash where they belong. I know this sounds dramatic but I am telling you, these were horrendous.

My father and his girlfriend visited and have been raving about their best breakfast in the east coast! Home made, large portions, so delicious and unique! Great view of the streets and tasty coffee! Incredible experience! Vegetarian options: Pretty sure all of the bases were covered Dietary restrictions: Not positive but I think it had everything. Kid-friendliness: There was a group with children there ( age 9 and 5), in addition to others- lots of kids. Wheelchair accessibility: For sure, right on the main street.

I had the regular breakfast and it was fantastic. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the bacon was nice and crispy. The coffee was very good, better than Tim Hortons and anything Ive had in Ontario. I definitely recommend coming to this place.

There has been a coffee shop at this location on Victoria Row since at least the late 1990s, but the latest an outpost of the emerging Receiver empire is very satisfying. A convenient location with great food and drink and a beautiful interior space deserves appreciation.

Visiting from Toronto and tried an iced coffee here. Absolutely delicious, a wonderful small business, and great service. It will definitely be on my list of places I visit on my annual trips to PEI.

A must experiance , relaxing and suttle coffee shop with a exceptional detail to flavor and presentation in their food, deserts and personally roasted coffee beans. The bacon & chicken sandwich is mind blowing. Every bite was warn and melted in your mouth. The chicken was especially tender and had a wonderful hint of garlic. They also have pick up sandwiches, deserts and coffee if your on the move and cant sit to savor the flavors.

Brutally slow barista. After 15 minutes my cappuccino was watery at best. Very disappointing. Barista maybe should learn to sling coffee and not worry about his look so much.

Love love love the vibe of this place! Went this summer with friends, and its always bustling, but the service is fast considering. They also support the local arts scene, which is definitely a plus.

You would be amazed. The coffee was one of the best Ive had. Breakfast menu was professional and baked apple pekan with french toast was simply amazing.

Amaaazing grilled sandwich (both the veggie one and the chicken bacon)!!! The bread was absolutely delicious too, and we found out that most of the ingredients are from local farmers!!! We came from Halifax, we actually went there because my friend had an online meeting and we needed Wifi, we had no clue that it would be that great! The apple crisp French toast was amazing, too!!! Great service, very kind and helpful! Well done guys! Keep up the good work!

Worth every penny if you appreciate good coffee. The athmosphere is also pretty nice and unique. If you sit by one of the walls, you can find notes people stuck inside the walls. I found clues for a treasure hunt between the bricks once ;)

The coffee is not my style. The cappuccino was so sour, I prefer my coffee bitter. The burrito with added bacon was delish.

This review is for the water street location. I have been there about 5 times and have never had a fully pleasant experience. I wish I had what the positive reviewers experienced... They seriously need to up their customer service training. Recently moved from NYC and been and done this style of cafes but you cannot treat your customers with poor attitudes. Theres a clear difference between being confident and classy to being arrogant and snobby. I am otherwise supportive of all local businesses but please improve Water St shop.

They didn t use artificial flavouring in my salted caramel latte, which is quite a rare find. I didn t know coffee could be this good. There is no going back to artificial flavouring. I first found this awesome option at Jills Chocolates & Café in Iona, Cape Breton.

Ham Slam may be the best breakfast sandwich ever!

We come here often, 1-2x per week. It s quite busy on weekends, especially in the winter when folks come in for a nice warm coffee and treats. All the baked goods are excellent! Breakfast is really nice with a great variety. Huevos Rancheros and avocado toast both rock. The coffee is locally roasted and always fresh. We love this place. Hip music and and a warm vibe. Close to other eateries and places downtown. free WiFi... and the serve regional maritime brews and drinks as well.

I was here on the island for vacation debating moving out here, and then I ate the breakfast burrito from Receiver Coffee Co. Holy guacamole Batman - in that moment I knew I would be back to the island permanently. Kudos to whoever invented that masterpiece - It was everything I never knew I needed. Also very reasonably priced here!

Good food & coffee, friendly service, lots of tables upstairs. Temperature seemed unusually hot when we visited (especially upstairs); maybe their thermostat was on the fritz?

Amazing and life changing coffee shop!! Food is to die for!!! Glad it was my first experience here when I got off the plane.

The coffee was very good. On the other hand, on the menu, the smoothie is rather salty and not at all what we know in Montreal. It s an avocado crushed like a guacamole. I had this for lunch so I found that it did not eat well on its own.
