For over 40 years, this has been my go-to restaurant to meet family and friends when I travel to PEI several times per year. Always a great breakfast! The 2 egg special and the Mixed Grill are favourite breakfasts. (I recommend the Hashbrown Potatoes with breakfast) The service is always outstanding. Refill after refill of great coffee. Breakfast loyalty program for frequent guests is a nice bonus. In summer and on weekends, arrive a bit early as there is often a lineup for seats. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyed my pancake and yoghurt in good company. Courteous servers.

Cheapest restaurant I have ever been too. The gave me two sausage the size of my pinky. The bread wasnt toasted and the eggs were overdone underneath. Still yet to find even a half decent breakfast spot in Charlottetown. Servers were nice though.

Great breakfast menu

Brought my customers here for breakfast this morning and was I ever impressed. Great food, strong coffee and good service. I had the Eggs Benedict and my customers both had the Breakfast Special #1. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a breakfast visit.

Favourite place to dine in Charlottetown and elsewhere. Menu has favorites and variety for a range of tastes. Service personable and friendly.

Food was tasty, served in good time and ample quality. Prices are good and we had only a couple of minutes wait. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on one level, and the entrance is directly from the sidewalk

Great breakfast place

We placed an order at 4:50pm on Saturday by phone. They took the order and told us it would be ready in 20 minutes. We arrive at restaurant to 3 waitresses saying the menu you ordered off of is not ours. This menu is the one linked in Google. They said our order would take until close to prepare and gave us grief for ordering. Not sure why they took our order in the first place. Restaurant was very dirty and nobody there wanted to work. Would never eat here

Awful, just awful. Service is horrible. Cant Comme t on food as they took my order I showed to to them saying we dont have these items on our menu. I got the menu off the smittys website that is linked in Google. They told me our items would take until close to make which was 2 hours until close. Never eat here

We placed an order over the phone at 5:00pm and were told that the order for 6 would be ready in 20 minutes. When we arrived to pick it up, we were greeted with so we were going to call you but didnt have the right phone number. Your order wont be ready until close. And what you ordered isnt on the menu. When I told them I went onto the website, I was cut off and told they do not have a website. If you go onto Google Maps, there is a link to their website...anyways, the 3 waitresses walked away and left my husband and I just standing there. It was very dismissive and unprofessional. We told them to cancel our order and left. After speaking with my husband I went back in to ask for the managers information, along with the names of the people who were working. I was left standing at the front for over 8 minutes, with no explanation. Once the receptionist returned, she informed me that the manager Jamie (who has taken over the restaurant) was ready for me. Fast forward to today. I called to speak with Jamie. She was defensive and really did not want to hear what I was I saying. It felt as if I was being dismissed. I will be following up with head office but in a time like this, where people are trying to cut back on spending, which is affecting all businesses, I would have hoped a restaurant would be greatful for weekly business. I would suggest if you are looking to eat out, you go to another restaurant, one that values their customers.

Great food, great value and despite a large portion of the restaurant having to be closed, we were seated quickly and service was excellent !! Great place alone or in a group !

I thought it was good all round. Went there between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., it was busy but after a 15 minute wait we got a seat. Free water as is normal here, friendly service, endless coffee and quick service with delicious food.

The filly melt was on special. It was very good for what it cost. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and what was brought to the table. They dont have ginger ale. The house used some seven up and Pepsi to attempt a knockoff substitution on the fly. Kid-friendliness: This restaurant has kids menu and toys and child treats on the way out the door. Wheelchair accessibility: They have a door wide enough, tables with removable seats. There was a gentleman there in a wheelchair and seemed to get around here well enough.

I love Smittys Restaurant. The food and service are excellent. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Its definitely one of my favorite places to eat. Dietary restrictions: My wife is a diabetic and they are great for dietary restrictions.

Awesome experience. The beautiful cute tall lady at the coffee station and joyful waitress were both friendly, helpful and made sure we were comfortable .

The staff are very friendly, a big delicious dish of traditional breakfast we usually have there. The egg Benedict is highly recommended. It is very quick and cheap price.

I had the hot turkey sandwich special under 11 dollars. Came with mashed potatoes carrots and loved the bit of turnip (scoop of vanilla too). Poutine was great. Quality curds, gravy and fries. Will come again.

While substitutions for vegetarians are most often willingly accepted in most Smitty s restaurants at no extra cost, that was not the case today at this Smitty s restaurant in Charlottetown, PEI. The only Eggs Benedict offerings included ham or bacon. We asked to substitute the meat with a slice of tomatoes. We were told that it would be an additional charge of 50 cents each. Shame on you!

Had a lovely chowder here, take out because of the pandemic, but it was ready for pickup and staff were friendly and courteous.

Great little home style restaurant. Food is good. They need some upgrading. But staff are very friendly. Breakfast is great. 3 things I noticed, outdated, could use some TLC, its freezing inside, and never should you vaccuum while customers are eating. Very unprofessional, also my husband has had a stroke, he mobility is not great, and I had to make sure he lifted his feet over the cords, which is not an easy task!

Really good service & friendly. I had the country big breakfast, wasnt bad. I probably wont need to eat again till dinner. Added onions to the hashbrowns, nice touch.

Great Skillet...hit the spot

Being on the road all the time for work it s hard to find a good breakfast place, but this is one of the best for me, there pan fried hash browns were great. Five stars for sure.

Good breakfast, quick. Maybe a touch expensive so load up on the bottomless coffee.

AWFUL customer service. Tried to place an order and was told they don t make most things from their online menu ..? The woman on the phone was extremely rude and actually hung up on me as I was saying sorry for the confusion! Never returning and would NEVER recommend.

This is the hidden gem of Charlottetown. This is what every diner should aspire to be. Authentic atmosphere, quality food, exceptional service.

Food was decent and the prices arent too bad either but the service was abysmal. Our waitress forgot about us and it took over 15 minutes to get her to take our order. She was extremely rude and very unpleasant. She forgot a bunch of items and gave us an attitude when we asked about it. This was such a bad experience we probably wont be back.

It was yummy

Smittys is usually really good, but the service this time was subpar. I had coffee with my breakfast, and they after getting my first cup, they came around 5 minutes later asking if I wanted any more. They didnt ask again the rest of the meal and when I had finished and the waitress asked how things were and if I needed anything, I asked for some more coffee. Rather than her getting me some she told me Oh someone should be around. After waiting another 10 minutes I just left. The restaurant was not busy at all, and there were plenty of staff walking by us, me with my coffee cup at the edge of the table with milk all ready to go. Would have been nice if the lady just grabbed me some coffee when I asked. Like I said its usually good but this left me feeling pretty upset.

Nothing exciting or adventurous on the menu, but it is a decent enough place to get an inexpensive breakfast. Everything is pretty inoffensive if you are dining with picky eaters.

Great food, price is more than other places but the quality of the food is better and I would rather pay a tiny bit more and receive a higher quality product. Service was very very good and never an empty cup of excellent quality coffee in the place with how well they keep everyone topped up. I will definitely be back here.

Extremely pushy on the coffee and tea question

Before going to this restaurant, I looked at the menu on their website. The full menu was posted and there was no mention of any significant changes to their menu. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was completely dismayed by the two page menu, greatly reduced from what is on the website. The explanation that because of COVID they had to reduce their menu doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me, as Ive seen other restaurants either keep their full menu or add to it. What I was looking forward to was having a nice vegetarian meal. Unfortunately, all of the full vegetarian options are completely removed from this modified menu. Someone needs to update the website to address the current situation. The food was mediocre, but not terrible.

I hadn t been in years and decided to stop in, it is quite pricy for what you receive. The food was good but not for $20 a meal. The waitresses were very sweet and informed us that it had been a busier than normal Sunday evening, so the service was a little slow. Things like that happen, we weren t upset. The waitresses were very clearly doing their best!! I would visit again to try the breakfast.

Fast, courteous service. Staff is following Covid-19 safety precautions, but not wearing masks. Fantastic breakfast at a good price!

I tried viewing the menu online but what a FRUSTRATING experience that was. When trying to view the menu, it asks if want to Download the PDF? but when you click on that, you receive a 404 Error message stating that the page is unavailable. Then it shows images of pages of the menu which your supposed to click on the page you want to view. Yeah right! When you click on an image like the breakfast menu for example, the page will open but you have about 3 seconds to read it before you get kick back to the main page!! If a company the size of Smitty s can t even have a website that works, it tells you a lot about what you can expect at one of their restaurants. We were considering go their for a meal while we re in Charlottetown on a short vacation BUT, I guess we ll SKIP this place!! Check your website once in awhile people and FIX IT!!

Great breakfast! Best pan fried hashbrowns, with onions, that I have ever eaten! I order tea, because the only part of Smittys breakfast that I dont like is the coffee. It is just too weak in my opinion. Otherwise, great bang for my buck! And our server Amy was super!!

And if youre like Kevin Hood, the reviewer below me, youll especially love the fact they dont wear masks while in extremely close proximity with customers, during a pandemic, because the staff at Smittys dont listen to no media brainwashin! True heroes, Kevin, true heroes.

My second best breakfast restaurant jn town, super friendly staff, must try their milkshakes.
