I stopped in to Brits with a group of friends after a hockey game on Saturday. There was one man working front & back. A few other tables came in as well as a Skip the Dishes pick up. He was amazing! Everything ran smoothly, our food came out perfect and as ordered, and he was very friendly. I have a gluten allergy and had zero issues! Would highly recommend Brits! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The fish and chips portion is huge, the two piece was the equivalent of a four piece at another restaurant. More than enough food for two people. There was no one else in the place on a Sunday morning, and our food came out quick. The fish (deep fried and battered) is on the oily side but they have other options for cooking the fish available. The greek salad was okay, it wasn't great, but that's pretty much what I expected for a British restaurant. Recommended: Haddock Fish and Chips, Thick Cut Fries Neutral: Greek Salad
Outstanding fresh fish and chips. Great, friendly, and professional service. You select the fresh fish: haddock, cod, or halibut. We had the haddock and the halibut- both great. The fries were made when we ordered them.
During our visit to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, my wife, son and I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a restaurant called Brits Fish & Chips. This quaint eatery not only serves amazing fish and chips but also offers other favorites such as poutine. From the moment we arrived, the host, whose name I believe was Cyrus or Silas, greeted us warmly and went out of his way to assist us, especially with my bulky wheelchair. His kindness and attentiveness set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. As we settled into our seats, I inquired about local beers and received a wonderful recommendation from Cyrus or Silas. I decided to try the Canadian Molson, which was delicious and hit the spot. My wife opted for the Strongbow Apple Ale, and she described it as crisp and refreshing. We decided to go for the halibut in traditional fried batter, and we were blown away by the quality and taste. The fish was incredibly fresh, light, and flaky, with the batter providing the perfect amount of crispiness. My wife even declared it as the best fish and chips she had ever tasted, and I wholeheartedly agreed. The restaurant is housed in a Heritage building, adding to its charm and nostalgic feel. The decor exudes the traditional ambiance of a classic fish and chips establishment, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. I recommend taking the time to learn about the Heritage House and its rich history, adding another layer of appreciation to your dining experience. Brits Fish & Chips goes above and beyond to accommodate all guests, with a pet-friendly patio out front and excellent accessibility for individuals with disabilities. This attention to inclusivity and comfort further enhanced our dining experience. Overall, Brits Fish & Chips was a standout restaurant during our seven-day cruise, offering not only exceptional food but also exceptional service and ambiance. I highly recommend this establishment for a memorable and delicious dining experience in Charlottetown.
This little gem in Charlottetown PEI has the best fish n chips, the owner was such a nice guy and service was 👌🏼 if you are in PEI you have to eat here … maybe we will have it again before we leave 🙊
We sat out on the patio because we had our dog with us. They even brought out a water bowl with cool water in it for her! But the haddock fish and chips were excellent! Try their tarter sauce too! Wonderful food and a beautiful evening!
Service and server was great. Food was ok. Huge portions. We had a huge family and had no trouble getting in. The patio was closed due to the weather. I loved the decor throughout the restaurant including the authentic tea towels.
Very nice atmosphere with plenty of seating, and service was fast and friendly. We were each going to get the 2 piece fish n chips but the owner assured us the pieces were large...and that was a good call, the 1 piece was plenty! It was cooked to perfection, the haddock was moist and flakey, and the batter crispy and golden. They have an in-house tartar sauce that was also very nice! Don't pass this place up if you're craving some fantastic sea food!
Been here a few times, first time a little over a year ago, and again today, food was very good both times, staff is always polite. Do be warned it s quite large portions, but hey, it s dang good value for what you pay. Parking: If your here midday in the high season you ll definitely have trouble finding close parking, but being here a bit past that it was very easy to find parking right across the street
Super friendly fish and chips shop. I did take away. The batter was amazingly crispy and the haddock was the size of my forearm!
If You want Your food to taste like You remember it - that is the place to go.
I was scared going here considering every restaurant within the radius has its fair share of poor reviews but I could not have had a better experience, I barely had to leave the Holman grand to find this wonderful spot , It was empty in side which made me think It would be a long wait but I ordered take out and a double gin tonic and waited , it was out before I finished my drink and it was some of the best fish Ive had ( pro fry cook over here ) and the poutine is immaculate, best on these kind folks and ignore the poor reviews, I have NEVER received customer service so enthusiastic yet to the point, all around a great experience and worth stopping by many times! The tartar sauce is to die for. Parking: Parking all around confederation building and in front
The waiter was super friendly and willing to make suggestions (good first impression), then the food came. The absolute best fish and chips weve ever had! We are from San Diego and so seafood isnt hard to get but this was amazing! Also a very nice place! Id highly recommend Brits Fish & Chips.
Amazing food
Had the fried pickles for takeout and really loved them! The waiter was very kind and even brought some water for my dog while I was waiting on the terrace ! Id definitely recommend if you pass by!
Best cod Ive ever had totally brilliant experience highly recommend from a Brit
nice place, good service, good size portions Dietary restrictions: looked like it has gluten free options on the menu Food : 5/5 |
By far best fish ever. Pricy but 100% worth it. You definately do not need sides. The fish pieces are huge, juicy, crispy and absolutely delicious. Best fish I have had, 5 star
The prices are on the high side But I will say the cod fish and chips are delicious Food
The fish portion of the fish n chips was huge and tasty, and their own tartar sauce was great too
very delicious
One of the best fish & chips
Except for the music on the terrace, everything was perfect! Generous portions. Enjoyed the fish and chips and poutine.
I m glad I only ordered the one piece fish n chips because the serving is huge! And delicious.
Very good fish and chips!! Unavoidable.
Good service and great gluten friendly options. Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly fish & chips Food : 5/5 |
Great portions and flavour. Service was fantastic. Nice big patio for sunny days. Very reasonably priced delicious food Parking: Street parking, free after 6
Great dog friendly patio, tasty food and amazing friendly and welcoming service. Thank you for a great stop with our pup along our downtown walk!
Was going to order 2 pieces of cod but waiter suggested 1 and he was right. Really good portion for one person and I have a big appetite. The thick cut fries were awesome. Impressed they had malt vinegar. Asked for HP sauce which they didnt have but provided A1 sauce which is pretty close. And the cod in batter was delicious. The gravy was really good too and my buddy had mushy peas which he rated 9/10 and hes a cranky irishman lol. All in all one of the best fish and chips Ive had outside of England and Ive had it in alot of countries.
So succulent!
Fried pickles and the fish and chips are great. No regrets
They served the biggest portion of fish and chips Ive ever seen. The fish was fresh and delicious!
Amazing food. The fish was so crisp and the portions were massive. The tartar sauce is some of the best Ive ever had. Definitely will return
Best fish and chips Ive had since I was in Portsmouth England! Lobster Chowder wasnt cheap but it sure was good. Large chunks of lobster! One piece of haddock was huge and cooked to perfection. Fish was tender and not greasy. Server was personable and friendly who knows fish. No farm raised fish here! It was the best!
This was the perfect finisher for my last dinner on the island.
Excellent food!!! Service was spot on!
Food was delicious. Huge portion which was great since we shared a 2 piece haddock fish and chips. Friendly and fast service. Would definitely be back and would recommend it to friends and family. Parking: Since it was after 5pm, street parking was free. Lots of parking near by.
Amazing food
I tried Haddock and it tasted great. The crispy paste was well made, the texture was crispy and the taste was suitable. The portion of fish fillet was large. The 2pc in the picture is enough for three people. The fries and salad were a bit inferior. The fries were too soft and the salad dressing was too sour. The service is very good, the interior decoration is a bit old, but it has a beautiful outdoor terrace facing the street. Its a pity that its raining today and we cant dine outdoors.
Incredible fish and chips ! Amazing tar tar and Cesar sauce. Highly recommend :)
The experience started off totally fine. Staff was very friendly and the food was interesting and what we were into, but they messed up pretty much every person s order and really didn t understand their menu for allergies for one of the members in our party and it ended up being a bit of a problem. That aside, the food ended up being really tasteless and bland and, for the price, it was not worth it at all.
Fries were good and the fish was terrific also had a beer called blue moon blonde and it was terrific Parking: Lots of paid parking
Just the light house ,
Stellar food, great service. Best fish & chips Ive found on the island.
Cant get enough seafood Parking: Cost $2 for hour and half Food : 5/5 |
Best gluten free fish and chips I ve ever had! The portion sizes are massive - you definitely only need to take one filet unless you re sharing. Server was friendly and efficient with a big group. Will definitely be going back if I m ever in town.
Good food but very expensive
This place is a gem .. well worth it and the food is so delicious! Awesome friendly family service .
Outstanding local business. Do it! Just do it!
Ordered a 2PC Gluten-free Haddock Fish & Chips to split with Gluten-free onion rings. The service was amazing and the food was beyond amazing! I will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: They have a dedicated Gluten-free fryer.
Generous portions and friendly service!
First time trying Brit s Fish and Chips. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. The atmosphere inside was open concept, modern, with vibrant colours. Very welcoming. The service was honestly probably close to the best restaurant service I ve ever had at any restaurant. The server we had loved to talk, and I enjoyed getting to know him. He told us how he s one of the brothers that owns the restaurant, and how it s a family run establishment. Very friendly, and made sure everything was as perfect as possible. I got a burger, which I enjoyed. The Patty was a little bit wet with grease, however it had a nice blend of spices so I got over the dampness. The fries were hand cut potatoes, and were delicious. Only thing I d recommend is, try to find a burger bun that is Dairy, Egg, Gluten free. The lettuce wrap was okay, but it could have been so much better with a bun. With tons of cruise ships coming in this summer, it wouldn t be a bad idea to have an allergy option available. Overall, good experience. Good food. Great service!
Great gluten-free fish and chips.
Great food, great service. I asked for a special drink and the server gladly complied.
Look at this image, and tell me if it doesnt deserve 5 stars.
Food quality really dropped since new owners took over. Overpriced. Dont bother.
We came here because my sister has celiacs and desperately wanted some fish and chips while we were in PEI. She was thrilled, and enjoyed her food. I would say it was good but nothing outstanding about it. Service was good and restaurant was clean. Food
If you are a lover of pub food, I highly recommend coming here. The portions are generous, food tasty, atmosphere comfortable (open room with tables, booths and four tvs), and the staff wonderful. And to boot, I think the bathroom sign is hilarious! I am a vegetarian and the garden salad and sweet potato fries are . Give this place a try the next time you are close by for a meal and a drink.
Amazing fish and chips and decent price, new cheese curds were good too
Food was delicious
Very good service and fresh food. Plus gluten free options (a lot). Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Food : 5/5 |
We love the fish and chips, burgers, scallops and their home fries. Great service and the manager stops and chats.
The best fish and chips. Lots of gluten-free options and friendly service. The best fish and chips. Many gluten free options and friendly service.
Stumbled upon this quaint little spot during a very difficult time. The food is amazing, the staff are friendly, and absolutely love the old fashion feel of what an English restaurant or pub in the UK would be like.
The food is excellent. A little expensive, but the portions are huge.
This place is amazing! Great food, great services!
Among the best I ve ever had, and I ve been to England. The staff were incredibly lovely to boot.
Best Fish & Chips Ive ever had. Husband is celiac and he got the gluten free fish & chips without any issues or cross contamination. Service was excellent. Were definitely coming back. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free fish batter is excellent.
Great Gluten Free options here. Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options Food : 5/5 |
Very good great food very good looking everyone was so nice you have to go
Smaller portions are available for smaller appetites. The haddock was flaky, and the curried mayo for the sweet potato fries was delicious. It was a welcoming atmosphere, but Id rather the television was set to nature or ecological channels, instead of sports.
Theres a good menu here and the decor and atmosphere have a great theme. Really tasty food and obviously its freshly prepared. Serving us in a large group was no issue whatsoever and the food did not disappoint. Id come here again for a nice fish and chips meal in Charlottetown.
Nice food need to put Winston Churchill up .
Amazing fish and chips, huge portions and they were nice enough to split the serving into two for myself and a partner.
Fish and tartar were delicious!! Thick cut fries were bland but the meal was over all delicious
My husband and I stopped for lunch today at Brits Fish and Chips. I was so happy to learn that they had a dedicated gluten-free frier. I have allergies to dairy, gluten, soy, eggs, and corn. They prepare the gluten-free fish with rice flour, some apple juice, salt, and pepper. Nice and safe for someone like me!! I added sweet potato fries, and it was all delicious. My husband had the standard one-piece haddock with fries, and he really enjoyed his as well. They have a great patio space that is dog friendly, but the weather today was not great for that, so we ate inside. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to allergies. Would eat here again
Stopped by for lunch on a cool day in June, and it was well worth it. The staff was friendly and helpful, the mussels top notch, and the Haddock lightly breaded and fried just right. Pair this with a local pint and you are all set for the rest of the day.
Great fish and chips. Huge portions and friendly service. Highly recommended.
Good food and Atmosphere. Friendly staff. Big portions of fish! Will definitely come back.
This is our tried and true fish and chip shop. The food is amazing and the service is top notch. Anyone looking for gluten free battered fish needs to give Brits a try. The portions are huge, so I would say order a smaller size than you think you need. Ive never had a bad meal here and I have tried most things on the menu. Dietary restrictions: Excellent care for my partner who needs gluten-free food. Hes never had a problem after eating at Brits. Kid-friendliness: Weve been going for years with our child and the staff have always taken extra care to engage them in conversation and ask them how their meal was.
The fish and chips are excellent and the service is perfect
Best fish and chips Ive had in a long time. large portions ...my wife had gluten free and she loved it ..highly recommend Food
Mi party of 3 were greeted by very friendly and curtis staff. Brits was very claen spacious. I found teh frys were very tasty and teh fish excellent. I also noticed that teh portions were a very nice size. I asked for and recived a little box to take home mi extras for mi pet alligator. I will recommend Brits for a nice lunch or dinner. Recommended also for a first date, or even for a date nite. Thanks Brits
Generous portions and very good!!!
Food is great.
The best fish n chips weve ever had. Waiter was very attentive. Not a single thing to complain about!!!
Overpriced, not great
Our first time. We ordered the lobster burger with butter and the fried chicken sandwich. The lobster burger was great not excellent. The roll used was too soft. The chicken sandwich was just fried too thin, so dry. It would have been better with fish or grilled chicken. See photos.
Really nice local restaurant in downtown Charlottetown! Mainly serving seafood but also burgers and such. Fish and chips portion is quite good and the fries are some of the best fries on the island. Also had veggie options (burger) which did not disappoint!
The gluten free fish and chips were fantastic. The Poutine left something to be desired. Two in our party got Caesar salads and were surprised to see it had bacon on it. But it was very good. Service was excellent.
A perfect fried potato, courteous service.
Great GF options with a dedicated fryer make this a must stop for celiacs or those with wheat intolerances. Nice large patio with a view of Province house. Dietary restrictions: Many GF options, even on the kids menu.
Ok
We tried the haddock fish and chips with the mussles and we absolutely loved it the bater was gluten free and not too oily like some places end up being and the fries were great! Thank you!! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Lives up to the hype! Great food!!!
The blue mussels and chips were great. The staff were welcoming and attentive.
Good and generous portions, pleasant and dog-friendly terrace, our doggies were treated to a bowl of water.
Visited earlier today with my kids and husband. Excellent service!! Food was soooooo good! I had the calamari platter, my husband had the lobster tacos, son had fish and chips and my daughter had a burger and Ceasar salad. We all REALLY enjoyed our meals. Wish this was in Fredericton, NB, where were from. They offered soooooo many gluten free options. I cant say enough good things about this place. If you are celiac, like me, you have to check out this place
Best fish and chips I had ! The fillet is so big and the waiters are so funny
Good food ; good beer. What else can you ask for?
The huge portions are only outdone by the fantastic fish and giant onion rings. The family menu is a great deal. We had to take some home. Good tartar sauce and all the fixings. Fun family fare for all. Update: Cant say that I love their new decor (see photos). I do prefer the old wooden and dark feel of a traditional pub but their food and service havent changed and Im sure other people will prefer the new more open style.
Friendly family run business. Very polite, excellent service.
Fish was great as I expected. Thick-cut chips were so so as they were limp and soggy. Mushy peas were, well just mushy peas
Vegetarian options: Almost everything is Gluten Free. Food
Fried fish is so crisp and juicy! One of the best fish and chips. Fried scallops were great as well, and good complements the wide variety of beer on tap. Comfortable clean restaurant.
Great little place. Food is great and the waiter was friendly. Loved the fries and scallops. My husband liked his burger and fries also. Totally recommended place.
It was awesome
I had the seafood crowder and cheese cake both were very good. The chowder comes with garlic toast and its only a small half a peice of toast and I think they should give a full price if possible overall very good.
My sister and I were in town for the Victorian Christmas festival and went for fish n chips. Delicious, crispy fish with VERY generous portions. Had a great meal!
Wow! Best PLACE....Fish and Chips are fantastic...light batter and fresh PEI fries...l had the garden salad with mine....and the homemade balsamic dressing omg!!!...our stop for sure when we shop in Charlottetowne...great service so nice
Probably one of the best lunch spots for a chill vibe and tasty big honking food! Only managed to be in PEI for 4 days and during that time came here twice and honestly shouldve gone at least one more time... The fish is done by weight so you will always get the same amount when you go back. I ordered both times the Fish Tacos Platter and it is PHENOMENAL being the best $22 Ive ever spent, being 2 soft-shell tacos with fried haddock, vegies, sour cream and spicy sauce with or without fries. If you are extremely hungry and I mean EXTREMELY HUNGRY then get the fries, otherwise the fish tacos by themselves is plenty. The classic fish-n-chips are also a great option, but if you want something unique and with a kick (spicy) then the Fish Tacos are for you!
Yes good food and relaxing atmosphere...
Yam there
I thought this would be a great fish and chips place based on the reviews. Not. I ordered 2 pieces of haddock and got 3 huge pieces for $30, a ridiculous price for fish and chips. It was so greasy I needed a shower afterward. Grease was everwhere. Other than that the fish was good but the handcut fries were limp and tasteless.
Second time here. There was one person running the whole show. Seating people, taking orders, bussing tables and cooking the orders. I was a little hesitant about how long things might take, but he did an outstanding job. Everything was on par with any full service establishment. He was friendly, courteous and efficient. The food was at least as good as the first time I visited. Left a nice tip in appreciation of the excellent effort.
Excellent tasting haddock fish and chips. Portions are HUGE so bring your appetite. Interior reminds me of a 60s English pub with fun music from that era.
Coming from Vancouver BC this was the best fish and chips Ive had in Canada
Good food, generous proportions, friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
Amazing fish , it melts in your mouth Tartar sauce is so full of flavour Great atmospher
Delicious food, great service, generous portions. Would definitely recommend having a meal here.
Half a serving is enough
Maybe it was a nice place someday, but now it s bad. Like really bad. Smells bad, feels uncomfortable and we didn t like the experience. We tried PEI Burger Love with fries, didn t finish both. Waste of time and money. Surprised to see so many good reviews
It was a colder, rainy day when we stopped in for supper. The hot food was just what we needed! The fish and chips were amazing! The fish batter is crispy but the fish is still tender and flaky. The seafood chowder was also wonderful: there was plenty of lobster, fish, and mussels throughout.
A great place to eat! Make sure to get the hand-cut fries with your fish.
Always great! Best onion rings on the Island. Fresh fish, even a great veggie burger.
It was my first time here.I definitely would go back again! The food was delicious and hot and the batter is to die for on the fish and chicken ..so yummy .Staff was super friendly and made sure your experience wS great!
Very good food. Good portion sizes. Good prices. Wide variety of food on the menu (not just fish and chips). Very friendly, helpful staff.
The food was excellent. The fish was cooked to near perfection and the fries were delicious. Service was phenomenal, Ive enjoyed coming here for years now and this place never fails to fulfill my fish n chips cravings. Highly reccomend.
We had food delivered to our hotel. The pan fried haddock was bland, not worth the price. The fish chowder was not that good and expensive. The toasted bread that came with it were 3 tiny ones (sliced thin bread).
As a British person, I am highly disappointed. Barely any food was truly authentically British, or even similar to so. The service was mediocre. The staff was kind and friendly, but we had admittedly been forgotten about, and had not had our order taken until 30 minutes in with barely any other customers around. The environment itself was quite dreary and too dark for my liking, but it wasnt dreadful, except for the ceiling. I have no idea what British Spotify playlist was selected to play in the background of the restaurant, but the music was genuinely annoying. I have never heard such songs played in an establishment and I was not happy. :) I have also seen far cheaper prices for fish and chips that had tasted better than what this restaurant had to offer, but I was indeed pleased with the fish.
My selfie does not have all the happy people that enjoy this restaurant. We were a group of ten that walked in off the street. You handle our group amazingly and didn t wait long for our food. Service was good and food was good. I find most restaurants can t handle a large group of people that don t call ahead and you handle our group with grace. Will be back there again!!
Best fish n chips in Canada ;) Generous portion and we had very good service!
We were avid fans of Brits when ever were in Charlottetown, because of their gluten free menu, That is up until last August! We had planned to visit there, at Least 3 times while we were in town for 9 days during Old Home Week, of which my buddy (who suffers with Celiac disease), and I are involved in the harness racing events. We had some other friends joining us, and had told them how great the food was, and was reasonably priced. YEAH RIGHT!! The previous times we visited Brits, everything was great, including the prices, but to our COMPLETE shock the last time, we couldn t believe how much they had boosted their prices! We found that not only had increased, but not a small amount, but at Least TWICE the price, but on some menu items, it was almost 3 times the price they had been previously. Take note that this is NOT a fine dining restaurant by ANY stretch of the imagination. It s just your average, old style fish & chip joint, that happens to have a gluten free menu! By just recently looking at their menu, apparently, they think that they re running a Michelin Star establishment. To us, they just priced themselves out of the market place! We DEFINITELY will never darken their doors again, unless they decide to come back down to earth, and reality!!
Lovely place to eat with great chips and the fish was brilliant was well would recommend
Nice traditional fish and chips
Good food and drinks
A great place to grab some dinner. I didnt find the fish to greasy. The batter was nice and light. Great service as well. We enjoyed are food.
The food was GREAT!! 1 pc of fish and a huge side was more then enough $20 Fast service 45mins start to finish. Completely recommend this place.
Walking street, nice location, good food, a bit expensive
So delicious! The portions of fish are fresh and huge, fries are perfect and the beer is cold. Couldn t ask for a better fish & chips dinner.
A good combination of filling and delicious. Definitely try the onion rings, theyre massive and so tasty.
Best fish n chips Ive ever had. Generous portion of perfectly cooked fish. PEI french fries very crispy and tasty.
Excellent fish and hand cut fries.
Great staff!! Food was amazing and didnt have to wait long. Will be back again!!
Excellent Service and fish & chips!
Very good gluten-free fish & chips!
Great food, friendly staff, quick service
Fish was excellent. Tartar Sauce was too bland-tasteless. Beet and cabbage (I believe thats what is was). Garlic potatoe mash was good. Service not so great. Waiter never came back to see how I was doing with with food. I waited almost 45 min to be served my food. I will go back for the Potatoes and fish only. Hope they figure out a good Tartar sauce and Coleslaw.
Great service and great food.
They took my dietary restrictions very seriously (gluten and soy), and the food and service were both excellent. Loads of gluten free options and a dedicated fryer here.
One of the best fish and chips joints this side of the pond. The batter, the crunch, the fish to crust ratio are superb. The fish chowder tasted great. The chicken tachos were different, but man were they good. Happy we pulled into the joint.
Best fish and chips in town. Big portions of food. On the down side big bill at the end 2 people without alcohol drinks say goodbye to 60 dollars. Saff was great though
Out of towners. Fish was good.
The piece of halibut that I got was amazing. Been a long time since Ive seen a piece of fish this thick and meaty. Fries were good but the cole slaw did not add to the meal. Service was fantastic.
Restaurant smelt like mildew and was dark. Walls were filthy and menus looked like they hadnt been wiped in days. Did not stay to eat
Great food fast service friendly people
Amazing fish and chips. Super flaky and not greasy.
Great food, friendly service. Excellent place to grab a bite for lunch
Service was friendly and fast , and the fish and chips were delicious with massive portions. We will be back for sure.
Food was great, service was exceptional. Loved it.
Kid-friendliness: Kids loved their meals.
Delicious attentive and courteous service
Great food, large serving. A bit expensive
Very nice food. Very busy in the evenings.
This is officially the best fish & chips I ve ever had! Great customer service, too, the staff was friendly and kind.
This is the first time in my life that Ive eaten such bad chowder. I took three or four bites and the taste that came out was just disgusting. We wonder if the sauce was expired. I mentioned this to our server when he came to ask if everything was okay and he told me that the bill would reflect this. It wasnt it was another waiter who presented the bill. I read all the comments and I find the customers who enjoyed this place lucky.
Nice traditional British fish chips and mushy peas.
Good gluten-free fish and onion rings.
Pan fried with salad. Perfect! Very good and highly recommend.
10/10 Food was excellent. Maybe just a tiny bit greasy, but to me, the food was fantastic. Good people here to.
Gone in a few times. Literallly no one there to even greet. Took a min. Even the kitchen staff MIA. I bet the food is great but the wait was odd.
Best fish and chips I had in my 3 weeks vacation. Highly recommend going large portions and easy laid back atmosphere.
Not only are you greeted and helped by friendly staff but the food is amazing. Crisp, light batter. Delicious fries. This should be your go to in Charlottetown
Great breaded haddock and fries. Very nice local craft beers .
Food good but very dated and dirty. Floor was sticky and the place smells.
Absolutely amazing chowder and fish & chips. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Great, great place! Was in town for work, stopped for fish & chips (light size) for a quick lunch. I was full past dinner. I cant say enough good things about this place. Cheers!
Best gluten free battered fish Ive had. Quick and friendly service.
Stopped in for lunch. Excellent fish and chips. Nice light batter on the fish and fries nicely crisp. Great service by our waiter. Recommended to others.
Nice place good fish and chip. Kid-friendliness: Kids friendly color pencil and baby seat provided. Food : 4/5 |
Its 3 am rn and all i can think of is this plateful i had last week. Im a local and Ive dined in here like 20 times and its perfection Every. Single. Time.
Wonderful dinner experience. Loved the lightly battered fish. Tried both the cod and haddock. Both were good, but if I had to choose it would be the cod. And hats off to Mark who served and informed and was a great guy. Will definitely be returning here again.
Last evening my friend visiting from Ontario and I decided to go out to a seafood restaurant in Charlottetown so we decided to try Brits. What a mistake! Its November admittedly not lobster season. I ordered the lobster poutine and sent it back. The lobster smelled like old fish and tasted that way too. The cheese curd tasted like coconut milk it was terrible. My friends favorite fish is Cod so he ordered it but didnt believe it was really Cod. The French fries were soggy. Our Ceasar salad was bland we had to request more garlic and lemon to make it edible. The wine was ok. Just dont go there if U r looking for authentic Island fish restaurant
Very good F&Cs. We got the thick style chips...so good. Cod fish had a good ratio of batter. Coleslaw was also good. Unique British themed decor.
Awesome place. Good food and lovely people
Overall good experience but I just wish the food wasnt that greasy.
My wife and I dropped in last night for dinner after strolling through the Charlottetown, PEI Christmas Market. Was served the BEST fish and chips. Highly recommend this restaurant/pub. Service was great and food was delicious!
Amazing customer service and really good food. Ordered the small appetite and could not eat for the rest of the day!
Great food and staff
Amazing fish and chips the best I ve ever eaten very British style! My favourite place!
