131 Sydney St, Charlottetown, PE C1A 1G5, Canada
Traditional Irish pub providing bar fare, a sizable beer selection & frequent live entertainment.
This was one of our all time fav places. Great food, exactly what we thought we should get plus. Our server Emma was exceptional. Emma & other staff members were great helping us with an inquiry into their merchandise. Again they went beyond what they needed to do to help us. It was a pleasure chatting with Emma when she had a minute. The atmosphere is just what we expected and it was also perfect. Okay but the desserts. So damn good, I wanted to lick the bowl. I refrained. Highly recommend. Big 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As a musician, playing at this venue is like no other, a great Irish trad atmosphere paired with outstanding quality food, and the most cheerful staff! Love love love this place!
Hidden on top of an oyster house (same owner I guess). However they offer $1 oysters!! Great Irish Pub ambiance and good service.
I want to start with the most simplistic review, and if you feel the need, read on: This place is a MUST VISIT for anyone visiting Charlottetown. This pub is found on a side street off Queen, which is a busy street and loaded with restaurants. If you are not looking, This place is easy to miss - and you do not want that! When you arrive, the first thing to be aware of is that it is not wheelchair friendly. You are going up several flights of stairs to the very top. There, you enter a dark restaurant with dated decor, but it fits the vibe perfectly. In the evening there is live music and if you are lucky you will visit when it's folk style music which gives the place an Irish feel. The music tends to be a bit loud, so if you are looking for quiet and cozy, move on. The service here is fantastic. They can be a bit slow, but are so friendly and outgoing, and they make that little extra effort to make you feel welcome that you don't mind. And the food... OMG. This is not typical mediocre pub fair. The chef clearly takes pride in the food he sends out. Of the dishes we tried, the worst was still pretty good. That was the beef dip. The only complaint was the beef was not seasoned- at all! However, move to other dishes like the steak pot pie. Loaded with steak and flavour this is a treat that would take you back to grandma's hone style stew, but in a cust. The butter chicken was absolutely fantastic and is a must try. It is not your traditional Indian butterchicken. This one had its own style and flair. Definitely worth a try, just don't expect it to match butter chicken from you favorite Indian restaurant. The Sheppards pie was one of the most flavour filled ones I have had anywhere and with reluctance, I will admit, I can not make one any better at home. The seafood bake!! Right here should be the signature dish. This seafood bake or seafood casserole was loaded with a shocking amount of seafood. Shrimp, scallops, salmon, white fish - perhaps haddock and what ever else they jammed in there. This will not disappoint, give it a try. I must also mention the fries. They are hot and crispy. The fries with my hot dip sandwich came with a seasoning that was amazing. I ordered fries again and they had no seasoning. If you get fries here, ask for them to be seasoned. You will not regret it, and you will not be asking for ketchup! That's my review. I can not stress how much I enjoy this restaurant. In my opinion, it is the best place I have eaten in PEI. From the entertainment, to the service and back to the kitchen, they are deserve compliments!
7 out of 10 for the happy hour oysters. Steak pie is great. The seafood bake is a bit too salty. Love the service and vibe though.
Stopped by for a refreshing afternoon pint and was pleasantly surprised they had $1 PEI 🦪 Oysters before 6PM. Not a fan of the cocktail sauce but they had Tabasco which was awesome. Very attentive service and I get a laugh at my Oyster Cheer! Oysters Oysters…raw raw raw!
The waitress Sophia and chef Millie were downright amazing I loved it first time there me and my fiancé absolutely adored the atmosphere and service And the food was immaculate and very well portioned. Very well done would go with the family anytime.
Awesome food and service! The waiter went out of his way to slowly explain to me where they got their super hot hot sauce. Amazingly fresh oysters at a dollar an oyster when you buy a drink at happy hour! Every day from 11am-6pm! The poutine was large and beautiful chunks of cheese. The burger with the fried onions is amazing! Thanks for the experience!
Great food and great atmosphere!
I loved my experience at this restaurant. I was extremely well served. The food was delicious, and the place was very good. There was a LIVE musician when I arrived, but unfortunately almost finished. I recommend this place without problem.
Very good food, great beer selection. Our waitress had an Irish accent too. It does turn into a dive place on Friday night though.
My partner and I dined here a couple of nights ago and thought it was fantastic. He had the Cajun onion rings to start and the shepherds pie for his main and I had the potato skins for my starter and the butter chicken for my main. From start to finish this was literally 10 out of 10. The service was fast, fantastic and the atmosphere in the pub as well was great. It must ve been trivia night and it was fun listening to all the questions while still having the space in the corner to ourselves. When we come back to PEI again we will definitely visit here and have recommended it to our parents who are staying just outside of Charlottetown after moving there this week.
Awesome.e food and ambiance
Nice pub atmosphere. Plenty of space despite the pub being on the second floor. Good food and very friendly staff. The dessert of bread pudding with caramel sauce is divine!
Great service Shelley has a great smile and very warm feeling about her
A legit Irish pub with all the right atmosphere. Lots of stairs to ascend however. Great experience. Wheelchair accessibility: I did not see a way a wheelchair could get up there... :(
Lovely lively Irish pub in Chatlottetown. Excellent beer and food. Good live music. Excellent food.
Good food and great service. The onion rings are yummy. I also had the baked haddock. Very tasty. The staff are very attentive. Live band enhanced the night. Certainly worth a visit.
Great food and music.
Stopped by for a night cap last night and sat at the bar. Kelly served us and we later learned she was kind of forced into it as the bartender was mia, she did a great job.
Live Music, friendly staff, good food!
Good red ale and mussels were excellent. Band was an added treat.
Service was great, got the tenderloin wrapped in bacon, 10/10
Great food, great service, great place, I recommend highly!
Amazing burger paired with their $1 Oysters and a Pitcher of Moosehead Raddler was a great evening.
We visited twice during our stay in Charlottetown. Great oysters and an even better deal during happy hour. The fish and chips is THE BEST my husband ever had! The bartenders and servers were so friendly and accommodating. When in town be sure to visit this pub.
Food was good and the staff were friendly. I had the chicken stir fry
Just got drinks, bartender was fantastic!!! That was 9/19 night....
Lots of stairs, but a very pleasant atmosphere. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. I will definitely be back. That island burger was soon good!!!
The food was just okay. Nachos didn t have a much cheese. The poutine was like warm and not great. The island burger with the spinach dip on it wasn t bad. The lady was working solo so the service wasn t as quick as it could have been. She was very nice, though. Nice location spot off the main strip.
Lovely space for lunch! We had some drinks and a few trays of freshly shucked oysters - $1 a piece from 11-6. Our server Patience was incredibly pleasant as well. Wheelchair accessibility: There might be a patio downstairs but the main restaurant is up on the second floor and completely inaccessible; would be hard for someone with any type of mobility issue to get up top.
No shamrock on my Guinness, also the problem with the debit machine had to bring up my account to prove I paid! Felt a little profiled, for being me.
Drinks food and service were fantastic!
Best pub food in town and $1 oyster is absolutely marvelous!!
The Oyster special here is the best deal in town, excellent seafood as well. Parking: On street parking. Food : 5/5 |
So slow to get our bill. Waited 20 minutes and then still had to wait for waitress to pur drinks for another table before she brought our bill
One of the best nachos I ever had with amazing oysters. A must go
We went for buck a shuck! Best spot in city. You need to purchase a beverage but beers go well with the delicacy! Max of 48 per drink but check with your server! Highly recommend this spot to get your oyster fix!
Great service, food and atmosphere! Highly recommend to any Newfoundlanders who may be missing home! Food : 5/5
Food is good, but service was terrible. mad house Saturday night didn t help.
Awesome service, delicious food.
So pleasantly surprised by the delicious food at this unassuming place! (FISH TACOS AND HOUSE SALAD Partner had steak pot pie and also yum.) And thanks for being open until midnight on a Monday, we needed it! Food
No music as advertised and no Kilkenney beer in an irish pub! Server didn t tell us musician was a no show until after we ordered and only when we asked when music was starting.
Great staff, very professional. It gets quite busy at times, and they sometimes cant predict how many staff they need, but they work to serve well despite that. The meals are always good and properly cooked. I would definitely eat there again.
Good food but it took an hour and a half for our food. We ordered when the restaurant was empty
It was the first place in a long time that I order mussles and received an actual large portion! Fantastic food
Not just your average pub food! Quality was perfect, and the service was great!
I give 5 stars for 5 to 7. Fresh oysters for $1 each are great! I benefited greatly from it. Very good service also even if you only have the oysters and a good beer. Im not a big fan of the pub atmosphere but when it comes to eating such fresh oysters at this price its a minor detail and the atmosphere surely pleases many. Wheelchair accessibility: Not at all accessible unfortunately. Its on the second floor. I dont think there is an elevator, at least if there is one it is not visible. Find out before you go.
Waited for over an hour for food that was subpar. Slowest service I have ever experienced, anywhere. Dirty restaurant and bathrooms. Unfortunate experience. Definitely wish we had picked somewhere else to dine during our visit to the island from Ontario.
I brought my family here for lunch while exploring Charlottetown and it was amazing. We had a 1 pc fish and chip that my 8year old son loved, seafood chowder that was possibly the best I ve had anywhere, and the steak and Guinness pie that was also fantastic. Great service, fair prices, and delicious food. I ll be back next time I m in town for sure.
Dollar oysters were great. Mussels were very tasty. Service was fantastic. Great stop. My friend got a free mug for eating 120 oysters
1 week out from PEI and dinning here. We had a reservation however our table was already taken, super slow service I felt bad for the server. Food was mediocre (maybe because it was so busy). Would have preferred elsewhere. Luckily the live music was fantastic.
Great Irish pub in downtown Charlottetown, lots of character, super courteous staff and fast service, we were passing through and without reservations during busy periods they accommodated us. Good food, good portion, good beers, reasonable prices. Group of musicians on site. Thank you for the experience to the team.
Great atmosphere, would have been nice if they told us in advance that the kitchen was closing as we wanted to order food just a few minutes after 11pm but we re told it was no longer available. Still, a nice live music venue with good beers on tap, nice downtown Charlottetown location, and friendly people.
Came in for happy hour and $1 oysters and had a fantastic time! They have a blazing hot sauce that was
Third time being here for the $1 oysters and the third time perfect! Our table had the Dublin burger, the seafood bake and Shepherds Pie. All cleaned our plates and loved it. We also had $4 Caesars, excellent too.
Had live music which was nice. Drinks are a bit pricey. Better to come during happy hour to save some $ and get $1 oysters (no mignonette, comes w lemons and cocktail sauce only).
My first time visiting since i graduated in 1987...Still a beautiful spot...great food..wonderful service. Will be back
I would rate this restaurant in the upper tier of Irish pubs Ive been too. The food has great homemade vibes, tastes great and is fresh. A bit expensive. Staff is friendly.
Excellent service with high quality ingredients, delicious food, and great ambience. Would 10/10 recommend for #1 restaurant in PEI!!!
We stopped for a drink at the bar and found it strewn with left behind dishes and glasses which were left attended for the whole 30 minutes we were there. Disgusting.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere! Highly recommended.
Great spot to enjoy a pint, watch a game and devour yummy grub. Staff was very attentive, and location is great.
Service was very slow otherwise would have given 4 stars. Entertaining live music
Dollar oysters when you order a drink....ok, Ill have a $4 cesear! It was excellent. Our server Sydney was great.
A wonderful Irish pub. Great atmosphere! Make sure to do happy hour and enjoy $1 oysters.
Great bar staff.
Island burger SLAPS
Was okay. Happy hour oyster starts at around 11 but you need to purchase a drink to get the deal. Fish and chips was good.
Best fresh oysters in CharlotteTown! Go during happy hour!
Had the fish and chips...excellent portion size..food was hot and delish...staff was super friendly.
Happy hour Oyster. A little bit small.
Excellent food at a good price
We loved our time here. We visited this pub twice on our vacation and loved it. The atmosphere was cozy and fun. The servers are so nice :) Definitely would check this place out. Live music as well!
Great spot for a bite and a pint
Most recent visit I had the beef dip. Fantastic shaved ribeye in a ciabatta bun with a tasty jus. Always a tasty experience...everytime! Wheelchair accessibility: Three flights of stairs so unfortunately it is not accessible, sadly.
Unfortunately, my recent visit to Olde Dublin Pub left much to be desired. From the moment we walked in, the service was lackluster. The waitress seemed disinterested and inattentive, which set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. I am not sure if there is really a limit on the number of oysters I can order for the Happy Hour because it is not indicated on the menu. But anyways I got the answer from the waitress which is 48 oysters per table, and I do see someone else who posts on social media about ordered more than the limitation in this restaurant Lmao. To make matters worse, when it came time to settle the bill, there were repeated errors. The waitress brought us the wrong bill not once, not twice, but three times. Each time we had to patiently explain the discrepancies, which wasted both time and patience. Overall, the combination of the service and repeated billing errors made for a frustrating experience. I hope the management could addresses these issues promptly to ensure a better experience for future patrons.
What s the point of Happy Hour if there s limitation on 1 dozen oyster per person? Travel 1700km to PEI not for saving $20 on oyster!!!! Bad experience during Happy Hour .
Fun little pub with affordable drinks!
How could you not go wrong with happy hour $1 beautiful Raspberry Point oysters?
Trivia on Thursdays during the winter! Great live music! Guinness! Great wings! More Guinness!
love the 1$ oysters
Oysters were amazing
Clean atmosphere & delicious food. Of course nice staff
Great dollar oysters from 4 to 6 pm, good pub grub, friendly service and tasty desserts. What more can you ask?
Good atmosphere and super friendly service. Most of the food was good however the lobster roll was not good at all. Listed on the menu as Market Price would make you think it was fresh but it was frozen lobster meat which was very disappointing.
The Olde Dublin Pub is a classic! Its a beautiful bar with a great pub atmosphere. They stay very true to their Irish roots in their food and drink offerings. Its the best spot that you can spend a St. Pattys Day weekend. Always a positive experience with excellent food service. Highly recommended spot!
Food was delicious. I was sent there to try the fish tacos. They dont disappoint and came with what my husband called the best salad hed had in years. Chowder was excellent as well. My daughter goes there for butter chicken often and tells me its the best in town. Food
Great food, incredible live music, the friendliest folk and fresh Guinness. What more could you ask for?
This is not an Irish pub, it is a pile of modern food and music .
This is a go to when we go to PEI. The team will s super friendly, and accommodating to food allergies. Food is fresh, and delicious Fav s for us are oysters, chowder, Shepard s pie, ceasar salad, burger. . And do they know how to make a margarita! Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating
Great food, loved the entertainment! Well done!
Super Service good food in great entertainment
For me, this was an A-OK experience, 3 star. We went to the pub looking for music. The band was a great pub band playing older country rock standards and the like. Enjoyed them. Patrons were generally extremely drunk so some interesting people watching opps. Service was cheerful but slow. Food options were limited and the item we ordered, nachos, were uninspired with tomato, lettuce and cheese. Beer was A-OK as well.
I went as they use to make great TikTok s ..haven t in a while though Typical pub food, nothing special- Fish and Chips were a 6/10 and the fried pickles were a 6 also. Beer was warm, and the server fixed it for us. Food : 2/5
This was a night out in my first night on the island with some friends, great live band and the drinks were solid as well. I was served this honey lager by the bartender and it was incredible
Friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices. Nice place to stop for a bite and a pint while touring the town. Food : 5/5
Great service, live music, tasty food, Guiness!!
Im irish i usually hate irish bars outside of Ireland. This place is amazing and if they have music its a must go!
Loved the food and service
It was highly-rated and praised, so we made our choice comfortably - thinking we would have quality food that s affordable. Alas, the oysters served were extremely dirty and badly presented. The oysters were laid on top of one another, causing the oysters below to be contaminated with the shell remnants of the oysters above them. Mignonette was promised alongside the lemons and cocktail sauce, but unfortunately none was served. Many of the oysters weren t even properly removed from their base (the adductor muscle). The oysters had SO much debris inside it was VERY obvious that they didn t even bother purging them (soaking them for 10 mins in ice cold water so they can spit out the dirt from within). It was a filthy and grainy experience that truly took away from our love for oysters. BUT THAT IS NOT ALL! The chowder. Oh my god. We ordered the chowder right after the oysters, and I was in complete shock at the state that it arrived in. I ll insert a video below. The CONSISTENCY was HORRID. It was far from creamy. I am very, very rarely offended, and I felt personally insulted that the chef actually looked at these bowls and thought this was good enough to send out. Where are the standards?! It was bland, the seafood inside were severely overcooked, and it was the consistency of broth. After voicing our dislike for the chowders, they still charged us for them even though we didn t even have a second bite! I m absolutely mind blown. We tipped the servers and didn t take away from anyone s hard work, but we didn t feel equally appreciated as customers. It was our first ever meal arriving in PEI, and what a disappointing experience it was. We stormed out, bellies hungry and our pockets significantly emptier, searching for another place to have dinner for the night after our long road trip there.
Margaritas were awesome! They need gluten free pasta and should work on making the steak and scallops look more appetizing. Server was excellent. Would go again.
Our server was absolutely exceptional - 6 stars exceptional - but I didnt catch his name. He was a big guy and sure knew his stuff. Food was excellent. Found it a tad noisy but it is a pub after all so to be expected. Sadly, the pub is up several sets of steep stairs and difficult, or could be impossible, if you have any mobility issues, as we were told no elevator. Surprised me as it excludes a whole segment of the population. Not inclusive and wondered if it is even legal these days? Parking: We had to circle twi e but got a spot.
On Canada Day the flag hanging outside looks terrible. We re not in dublin
Great service and food. Restaurant on top floor. Not sure if there is wheelchair access.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible Food
Great oysters and fast, efficient service.
4 of us eating all different meals , Shepard pie , steak sandwich, burger and Indian curry , all good eats , the beer is cold , the atmoshere and service awesome
Love
Food was very good. We would definitely go back.
Jonah was our server. He was very polite and friendly. And very on point with keeping our needs. Food and the atmosphere were amazing.
Oysters were fine but mignonette wasn t provided contrary to the menu. Cocktail sauce is very basic. Five ounce bacon wrapped filet was passable but stringy. Nothing special here. Fish with the fish and chips was outright terrible. Overcooked and didn t have the consistency of quality fish. Try Churchill s on Queen St instead. Much better. Service was okay but slow. $90 for a sub-par meals. Not recommended.
The staff was great and very good fish and chips
Great place to stop for a meal!
We arrived late and the kitchen was almost closed but they did everything to accommodate us and we we re able to order food which was absolutely delicious. Staff was incredibly friendly, owner took a moment to come chat with us. Lively ambiance. Highly recommended
Service is excellent, food is very mediocre at best unfortunately. Was told it was a staple of charlottetown for food but unfortunately nachos with no cheese, and previously frozen tasting scallops don t cut it as a staple for me. Good service and live music though so if you wanna stop in for a pint or two this is your place!
Good food and great atmosphere. Our flight was cancelled and had to stay in charlottetown. The ODP was the highlight of that extended stay. Looks like they have live music at night and $1 oysters cant be beat.
Birthday dinner food was wonderful
Had a family dinner at this Irish pub. Food was good and tasty. There was live music and the service was great too
Drinks have fun names here and just add to the essence of the place. Emma brought us to the seating outside and, wow! I felt like we were in Old Quebec. The colourful buildings, the old ones, people on the street and on terrasses... the spirit of Charlottetown surrounded us. We ordered a Lucky Leprechaun and Pina Claddagh and were sipping on them before waiting too long. For dinner, we both ordered the seafood bake. Delicious! As usual (for us), we lacked room for dessert. They looked scrumptious, but maybe next time. The place is clean, great service, the staff is friendly, and you cant beat the atmosphere when you sit outside. I cant wait to come again! We cant say much for parking. We left our car at the dump we were staying at (another long story). Lucky for them, location is what they had going for them and we walked.
Everything is just great with reasonable prices
Buck a shuck!
Basic menu done well, able to accommodate large groups during the day. Family friendly and brightly lit during the day, much prefer the evening with the music etc but had a great lunch and able to get us in and fed right away Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly during the day, not sure when they switch to all adults. Accommodated a large number of large groups while we were there Wheelchair accessibility: Not
We went for buck o shuck and stayed for wings. Our server gave us great suggestions for drinks, and we had the Irish mule and Copper Bottom red ale.
We visited this plan hoping for a better experience. We did make a reservation and it is advised that you do during peak tourist times. We came here during oyster happy hour. With the price likely reflecting the quality. The muscle which oysters possess to attach to their shells was still intact and essentially all of our oysters also contained a graininess to them. Our beers were mediocre, could have been served much colder.
Great shepherds pie!
Great place good food amazing decor
The oysters are super small, and some had gone bad. Not worth $1 the services are super slow too will definitely not be back.
Our family ate here on our holiday - we loved it! We will be back.
Was so good we started and ended our trip here! A must when on the island and budget friendly! Best fish and chips in a restaurant! They even have live music! Parking: Free after 6 anywhere in town on the streets, simply harder to find during high tourist season. Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs to go up on second floor- not wheelchair accessible!
I had a Guinness and their shepherds pie and it was terrific. Very casual, service was good, not too loud.
First time eating poutine. Im from Iowa, so I had to try it. Im glad I did. It was good! But once is enough
Nice beer selection.
The mussels we had here were out of sight good. We come from North Carolina and have them quite regularly. They are usually a bit gritty and have a bland taste. These were great. The service was good and the building has several rooms on several floors to enjoy your meal. They also have some decent local beers.
We just had a few drinks, and had fun chatting it up with the locals.
The $1 oyster happy hour between 3-5 PM was delicious! Our tap beers were fresh and tempered the salt of the seafood perfectly. Highly recommend for others vacationing to stop by for an early dinner snack.
After waiting 15 minutes at the bar and having asked twice for a Guinness... I simply changed places to finally drink a beer... Too bad the waitresses are nice but too busy serving others. No music when I was there just a bad time I think
The Steak & Guiness pot pie is unreal! Very cozy pub with great beer, above average/good oysters and great service. CJ was a wonderful server.
Absolutely worth a visit. The food quality was great and the music fantastic. Drink prices high for the type of establishment but food prices offset that. Better that any of similar style in the city that I tried. I will be back.
Great corn Chowder, $7
Great music, always fun at the Old Dublin
The saltiest oysters on the east coast!
Dublin in Charlottetown!
Great food, great drinks, great people and great music!!

Cheers to a genuine East Coast pub experience at Olde Dublin Pub! Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs. Many stairs.
A delightful stop for lunch. Live music and a great Irish pub atmosphere. The steak and shepherds pie was excellent. In fact, all 6 of us thought the food was good. The only down side was the service was a tad slow. But still a great find.
All the above were good. We shared a 2 piece fish n Chips. With a good beer. (Copper bottom)
Pub down a side street on the second floor.Had Steak Pie was incredibly delicious everyones food was excellent service excellent fun crowd watched soccer game between Scotland and Ireland had a blast
From Ottawa here and I d come all the way back here just for the food amazing service fantastic food very fast friendly service will be back again
Lobster BLT was amazing!!
Great place for Scottish folk music.
Came here with the bestie. Cool singer for the live music and lovely food and service. Will defo be coming back when Im in PEI again.
Great beer mussels and poutine
Has nice balcony
We were lucky to have been there when there was live music! Fun and friendly!
Nice place, really good live music
Great food, very busy for a Wednesday evening. Great atmosphere.
Food was terrible..no taste and cold. Not happy with Food. Service was good and music was outstanding. Best part about the night was the band.
This is the perfect place for bring a large group of people together. Really impressed with the speed of serving 40 guests in such a short amount of time. Caution, the side salads are huge yet tasty!
Food is great, love the vibe, happy hour Oyster is small(I prefer the east coast oyster) and It might be good to change the source instead of catchup.
